00:03 Science teaches that facts are superior to superstition,
00:07 John Carter agrees.
00:09 In the following program,
00:11 he presents 10 top reasons why God exists.
00:14 No superstition, just facts.
00:20 Young man goes to university, he comes from a Christian home.
00:25 And when he is in his first class on science,
00:30 the professor says,
00:32 "I want to see the hands of those
00:34 who believe in God in the class."
00:38 Nobody moves.
00:40 Everybody is sort of terrified,
00:42 but he comes from a Christian home,
00:45 and he puts up his hand.
00:48 And for the next 60 minutes,
00:53 he is the butt of every joke.
00:59 And that's why so,
01:01 so many young people give up their Christian faith
01:07 because they believe, it's against the facts.
01:12 I want to say right now
01:15 that I believe in true science.
01:20 And I believe in the facts.
01:24 They ridicule him for an hour or so,
01:26 it happens in every class,
01:28 he's made to feel like
01:32 the village idiot.
01:38 And then the professor challenges him
01:42 to a debate.
01:46 They're going to get the best professor on the campus
01:49 who is an atheist who is going to
01:53 chew him up and spit him out.
01:58 And I will tell you what happened
02:00 at the close of this program today.
02:03 Here is a statement I want to read to you
02:05 from Dr. Will Provine,
02:08 Professor of Biological Sciences
02:12 at Cornell University.
02:14 One of America's great universities.
02:19 He made this statement during a debate
02:21 at the great Stanford University
02:23 up the road.
02:25 Listen to the statement.
02:29 "There are no Gods, no purposes,
02:34 no goal directed forces of any kind.
02:40 There is no life after death, when I die,
02:43 I am absolutely certain that I am going to be dead.
02:49 That's the end for me.
02:51 There is no ultimate foundation for ethics."
02:55 Did you hear this?
02:56 No ultimate foundation for ethics.
02:58 Of course, he's right.
03:01 If there is no God,
03:03 there is no foundation for ethics.
03:06 Because if there is no God, there is no good.
03:10 Now this man is completely logical.
03:13 "There is no ultimate foundation for ethics,
03:16 no ultimate meaning to life,
03:19 no free will for humans, either."
03:25 Of course, he's right.
03:30 Is this thing between my ears is the product...
03:35 Now listen carefully.
03:37 If it's a product of time
03:38 plus matter plus chance,
03:43 then why should I trust it?
03:46 Why should I trust his conclusions?
03:50 And why should he?
03:53 If he is right, then nothing can be known,
03:59 including his beliefs.
04:03 Now today,
04:06 I want to give you the top 10 reasons
04:10 you can believe in God
04:12 and not be an idiot.
04:17 Top 10 reasons you can believe in God.
04:19 Number one reason, science and the universe.
04:22 And firstly, let me say this,
04:25 I believe in true science.
04:31 I believe in the facts.
04:35 I do not believe,
04:37 this is where I might disagree even here with the audience.
04:40 I do not believe in mere faith.
04:46 I do not believe in faith in faith.
04:52 I believe in faith
04:56 in the facts.
05:00 And let me talk firstly about science and the universe.
05:05 The most important statement
05:07 that was ever made
05:08 in the history of this cosmos
05:11 is Genesis 1:1,
05:15 which says in the beginning
05:16 God created the heavens and the earth.
05:19 Let me tell you
05:21 why it's the most important statement,
05:22 why it is the most scientific statement.
05:27 Einstein who gave us the theory of relativity,
05:31 believed with virtually every scientist in the world
05:36 that the universe had always been there.
05:41 This has a name in science,
05:43 it is called the Steady State Theory.
05:47 Einstein believed in the eternity of matter,
05:50 all scientists did.
05:54 But Professor Hubble
05:56 after which the telescope is named
06:00 on one occasion met with Professor Einstein
06:04 and showed him some photographs.
06:08 And the photographs showed the red shift in the galaxies,
06:15 that means that the galaxies are exploding out into space.
06:20 These pictures from Dr. Hubble
06:24 convinced the great professor Einstein
06:28 that the universe was expanding.
06:33 If the universe is expanding,
06:37 therefore, the universe had a beginning.
06:42 Thus listen, my skeptical friend,
06:48 the Bible was right,
06:50 and Einstein and all his colleagues were wrong.
06:54 The Bible is the only book
06:58 that taught
07:00 that the universe had a beginning.
07:02 Scientists call it the Big Bang.
07:07 Now I come to the anthropic principle.
07:12 This is widely used today by all scientists.
07:17 Anthropic comes from the Greek word anthropikos.
07:23 Anthropikos means man, anthropology.
07:27 Listen carefully, this is pretty solid material,
07:30 I'm giving you simply facts.
07:35 Scientists today, every one of them
07:38 including Richard Dawkins
07:40 believes that the whole universe
07:43 is so constructed
07:47 so that human beings can exist.
07:51 Do atheists believe this? Absolutely.
07:54 Everybody who is a scholar understands
07:57 the anthropic principle
07:58 that means that everything in the universe was made,
08:03 the purpose of it all is for the existence of man.
08:07 A millisecond after the Big Bang
08:09 or the moment of creation four forces came into being,
08:14 these four forces had not existed
08:16 before the point of creation.
08:19 Now we're not talking about this world,
08:21 we're talking about the universe.
08:23 The universe came into being 13.8 billion years ago.
08:28 How do you know? It's a fact.
08:30 It can be observed. It is the truth.
08:35 It is the truth.
08:36 Four forces came into being.
08:39 The strong nuclear force, the weak nuclear force,
08:43 electromagnetism, and gravity.
08:45 These forces had never existed before.
08:48 Listen to this.
08:50 Universe is born 13.8 billion years ago.
08:56 These four forces come into being,
08:58 if they had been
09:01 out of sync, out of balance.
09:07 Look at this.
09:08 Is it possible to believe this?
09:11 If these forces had been out of sync and...
09:16 I'm going to try to give you the figure.
09:20 Here it is.
09:22 One quadrillionth of one quadrillionth
09:26 of one quadrillionth of one quadrillionth
09:30 of one quadrillionth of 1%,
09:35 the universe would have exploded or imploded.
09:38 And there would be no meeting here today.
09:41 There would have been no universe.
09:45 This is why many atheists
09:50 have said this could not
09:52 have happened by itself.
09:56 This has to be evidence
09:59 for a tremendous mind.
10:04 If I say to you today,
10:06 "I want you to move your chair
10:10 by a billionth of an inch,
10:13 and if you miss it
10:16 you're going to be destroyed,
10:19 it will be your end."
10:20 You would say, "I can't do it."
10:25 The universe is balanced in every area
10:29 the anthropic principle one quadrillionth
10:33 by one quadrillionth by one quadrillionth
10:35 by one quadrillionth by one quadrillionth.
10:41 How did it happen?
10:43 Now I have some atheist friends and I respect them.
10:47 Now we're not trying to talk personalities,
10:50 we are talking facts.
10:54 Someone was in charge.
10:56 Professor Antony Flew was a famous atheist
11:00 in the same status as the great professor,
11:05 the Englishman Richard Dawkins.
11:09 "I do not believe in God," he said.
11:11 "It's all mystery, hocus-pocus, smoke and mirrors."
11:16 But in 2004, he surrendered to the evidence
11:20 and he wrote a book entitled,
11:23 There is a God.
11:27 He had written a book, There is No God.
11:30 One of the greatest atheist in the world
11:34 but an honest man,
11:36 he came in out of the code.
11:41 There's a mysterious force in the universe,
11:43 some of you have heard about it,
11:44 and some of you haven't.
11:47 It is called dark matter and dark energy.
11:50 Most Christians are oblivious to these truths.
11:54 I said do have shame.
11:57 More than 90% of the universe
11:59 is composed of dark matter and dark energy
12:02 that nobody comprehends or understand or even seen it,
12:06 we know it's there because of its force.
12:09 Dark energy drives
12:11 the expansion of the universe
12:15 at just the right speed.
12:18 It is incredibly fine tuned, any faster or any slower,
12:23 there would be no planet earth,
12:25 and you would not be here either.
12:29 I want you to think about this.
12:30 This is not easy to think about.
12:34 I want you to think of the United States of America.
12:39 We cover the United States of America
12:42 with dimes a foot deep,
12:47 but then we go to the moon.
12:51 Dimes to the moon.
12:53 And then we do it with another
12:56 bunch of United States of America,
12:59 so we've got multiple United States of America
13:02 covered with dimes reaching to the moon.
13:05 How many dimes?
13:09 Billions, and billions, and trillions, and trillions,
13:12 and trillions, and trillions, and trillions...
13:15 It seems to be infinite.
13:17 And one of those dimes has got a black mark on it.
13:24 And you are told to walk out,
13:30 on one of these United States of America
13:33 covered in dimes to the moon,
13:34 and on the first go you pick out the dime
13:39 that's marked with the X.
13:44 What's chance is there of that happening?
13:51 Let me tell you, it's impossible.
13:55 In the same way,
13:56 the odds are impossible that dark energy
13:59 just happened and operates by itself.
14:04 Now, there's a gentleman whom I greatly admire,
14:06 who has come here, and I've interviewed him,
14:09 Dr. Johnson, he has two doctorates,
14:13 you can see him on one of our television programs.
14:17 Got two doctorates, one of them is in information science,
14:21 he is a genius.
14:24 He once was an atheist.
14:28 He says in information science
14:30 we know there are three scenarios,
14:33 remember, possible,
14:37 probable, impossible.
14:43 The anthropic principle gives overwhelming evidence
14:48 that there is a creator, a designer, a mastermind
14:53 because these things
14:55 could not possibly happen by themselves.
15:00 That these things could have just happened
15:05 are completely impossible.
15:11 And that is called information science.
15:15 Number two reason, information and life.
15:21 An amazing text is John 1:1, astounding.
15:26 It says, "In the beginning was the Word,
15:28 and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
15:31 In the Greek it says in the beginning was the Logos,
15:36 and from Logos we get logic,
15:39 it means information.
15:43 Atheism says this, and the atheist needs to be
15:47 very, very honest as I must be honest.
15:49 But the atheist can be as bigoted as any religionist.
15:55 And so the atheist also has got his problems with bigotry,
15:59 which he must try to overcome.
16:01 I would say by the grace of God.
16:03 But the Bible says in the beginning
16:06 was the Logos or information.
16:09 You know what atheism says, "In the beginning was chaos."
16:14 Total chaos that came out of nothing.
16:17 And from total chaos came information.
16:21 But the Bible says, "No, life and everything
16:25 came from the Logos, from the information."
16:28 Listen to this, think about this.
16:31 In the human body,
16:34 there are 300 trillion cells,
16:40 each cell is full of digital information.
16:45 Did Darwin know this? No, he didn't have a clue.
16:47 He thought it was just a blob.
16:50 Look at this book here,
16:52 this is a book of a 1,000 pages.
16:59 The information that is found in a single cell
17:02 that is so small that you cannot see.
17:06 Listen to this, young people.
17:07 Listen to this, my dear atheist friend.
17:10 In every cell there is a digital information
17:14 that would be contained
17:18 in a book of a 1,000 pages
17:22 and a 100,000 of these.
17:28 It's incredible.
17:29 A 100,000 books, each book of a 1,000 pages
17:35 and that is the information
17:36 that is put inside a cell.
17:43 Remember, possible,
17:47 probable, impossible.
17:50 Darwin had no idea.
17:52 It is impossible, that this happened by chance.
17:56 There is only one possible explanation,
17:59 in the beginning it was the Word.
18:02 The Word was with God,
18:04 and the Word was God.
18:06 Number three reason,
18:08 number three.
18:09 The mathematical odds.
18:13 There is only one pure science,
18:17 only one pure science,
18:18 not biology or any of those things,
18:21 it is mathematics.
18:24 The mathematical odds, the chance
18:27 that something happens by itself,
18:30 the likelihood of the spontaneous formation
18:33 of life from inanimate matter,
18:38 the chance that life
18:40 and the cell with all that tremendous information
18:44 that it could have a reason by itself
18:48 can be mathematically calculated.
18:52 Did you know this?
18:53 And the figure is 1 with 40,000 zeros after it.
19:03 Do you know how many atoms there are in the universe?
19:07 Ten with eighty zeros.
19:13 So is it possible?
19:15 No, it's not possible.
19:18 Is it probable? No, it's not probable.
19:21 Is it impossible?
19:22 It is totally impossible,
19:24 and I'm talking from a scientific viewpoint,
19:27 not from a religious viewpoint,
19:30 not from a biblical viewpoint.
19:35 What about science now?
19:37 The mathematical odds completely against it.
19:42 Now there is a famous atheist today in the world
19:47 who has tremendous influence
19:50 puts out heaps and heaps and heaps of books.
19:53 Who was a tremendous debater
19:56 but he seems to be consumed with a hatred for God.
20:02 He said, "I don't believe in God."
20:04 And he spends all his time talking about God.
20:10 What's wrong?
20:13 Well, I happened to know that this little boy
20:15 was brought up in a certain church,
20:18 and he was abused by a priest.
20:24 The hatred of God is a hatred of the priest,
20:27 and the hatred of the church,
20:29 and it's projected against God.
20:34 Possible, probable, impossible.
20:43 Top 10, number four, here it comes.
20:48 And I want to appeal to those who still believe in thinking,
20:51 who believe that truth matters, and who are not so bigoted
20:55 that they won't think a new idea.
20:58 Many Christians have never thought
21:00 a new idea in 50 years.
21:05 Their minds are completely closed.
21:07 They find it impossible to think new ideas.
21:12 And there are plenty of scientists the same.
21:15 Because atheism is a religion just the same as Christianity.
21:22 Now, I personally believes in the Bible.
21:27 Let me tell you just a few things.
21:30 I didn't always have an understanding of truth.
21:33 I set out as the young man to understand truth.
21:37 I visited all the Bible lands not once
21:39 but over and over again.
21:42 I studied under the great German archeologist
21:45 Dr. Siegfried Horn.
21:48 Let me give you...
21:49 I could give you a 100 illustrations,
21:52 I promise you, I could give you a 100 illustrations.
21:56 I meet atheists, met them by the thousands in Russia
22:00 and they say, "You can't believe it."
22:04 How on earth would they know?
22:07 The truth of the matter is they don't know.
22:11 Let me give you these four examples.
22:15 The Bible says Israel went down into Egypt
22:19 and they became slaves.
22:21 Not long ago, I was in the land of the pharaohs.
22:24 I went into the tomb...
22:26 I think it was Rekhmire.
22:30 And there you can see the Semite slaves in Egypt
22:35 at the time of the Exodus being beaten by the Egyptians.
22:42 It's history, it is not a fairytale.
22:45 Number two, Belshazzar's tablet.
22:50 Book of Daniel talks about Belshazzar
22:52 as being the last king of the Babylonians.
22:56 The atheists said, there you go again.
22:59 It's another lie because we know
23:01 from secular historians the last king of Babylonian
23:04 was Nabonidus.
23:07 Thank you.
23:09 But then this tablet was discovered
23:14 in the cuneiform, and I've seen it with my eyes,
23:18 I've looked at it, and it talks about Nabonidus
23:24 and his son Belshazzar.
23:29 And so Belshazzar took over the kingdom,
23:32 Nabonidus retired.
23:33 The Bible was right.
23:37 The skeptic was wrong.
23:39 It's okay to admit you're wrong when you're wrong.
23:42 The Bible talks about King Jehu.
23:48 So many skeptics said, there they go again.
23:52 The Jehu, a figment of the imagination,
23:56 and then we discovered this Jehu kneeling down
24:00 before Shalmaneser.
24:02 These are just...
24:04 "You've just concocted it."
24:05 No, I could show you hundreds, and hundreds,
24:10 and hundreds of examples.
24:13 If you want to get into scholarship,
24:15 go and read the writings of Kenneth Kitchen.
24:20 The greatest scholar in the world
24:24 where he almost laughs at people who say,
24:27 "You can't believe the Bible."
24:31 King David is mentioned in this Bible
24:33 on many occasions.
24:37 But skeptics have said, there was no King David,
24:41 it's a fantasy.
24:43 I was over in Israel not that very long ago,
24:47 went into this museum in Jerusalem,
24:50 and they showed me a brand new archeological discovery,
24:55 they showed me this tablet.
24:58 And the tablet had been discovered by a person
25:01 who did not believe in King David.
25:06 And there written down
25:09 are the words David.
25:14 You see, been to Egypt,
25:17 explored the pharaohs,
25:21 I've been to all the great archaeological sites.
25:25 Why do I believe?
25:28 I do not believe, my friends,
25:31 because I'm paid to believe,
25:33 if I thought it was wrong, I wouldn't believe it.
25:36 I don't believe it because I'm a member of the church.
25:41 I believe it
25:44 because it's the fact,
25:47 it's the truth.
25:49 And let me tell you something else, Jesus said,
25:53 "You'll know the truth
25:55 and the truth will make you free."
25:57 Much more to come just moments away.
26:15 The reviews for the John Carter biography Our End,
26:18 and this is what they say.
26:20 "Anyone who reads this fascinating book
26:22 and he's not moved should check
26:24 to see if they still have a pulse."
26:28 "I believe this book about God's miracles in Russia
26:30 and Ukraine will burn the flame in your heart."
26:35 "This could prove to be one of the most important books
26:37 ever written about public evangelism.
26:39 Make sure you get a copy."
26:43 "I believe this book about John Carter's life will help
26:46 readers grasp a vision for their lives."
26:54 "For a donation of $100 or more,

27:26 In spite of the powers of darkness,
27:29 nothing can destroy the Church of God.
27:34 And I'm not ashamed of the Gospel
27:37 of the Lord Jesus Christ.
27:41 That the gospel is not about you and me,
27:44 it is the good news about the Lord Jesus Christ.
