00:01 A new world is coming,
00:04 governed by new and different laws. 00:06 One day soon, the heavens and the earth will pass away, 00:10 and a new world will be created. 00:13 What will existence be like in this new age? 00:16 Who will inhabit this new world where the old laws of decay 00:20 and death will be replaced by the new laws 00:23 of endless vitality and happiness? 00:26 Please join us for the world to come. 00:35 I'm glad, when I turn on the news every morning 00:40 and hear what's going on in Washington 00:42 and around the world. 00:44 I'm glad, that I believe in the world to come. 00:49 The topic today is the world to come. 00:55 Bible prophecy teaches that a tremendous New World 01:01 is about to burst upon wandering humanity. 01:07 So the topic today is the world to come. 01:11 Opening text is out of the Book of Hebrews. 01:14 Hebrews 6:5. 01:17 If you take your Bibles, I'm turning to the NKJV, 01:22 which is a very popular additional translation 01:27 of the ancient scriptures. 01:29 Hebrews 6:5. 01:35 It says, "And have tasted 01:40 the good word of God..." 01:43 Now notice these words, my friends. 01:45 "And the powers..." 01:47 What does it say? 01:49 "Of the age to come." 01:50 In the NIV translation it says, 01:54 "And the powers of the world to come." 01:58 So the Bible teaches that there is a beginning... 02:02 This is very important. 02:04 The Bible teaches the concept. 02:06 And this is a scientific concept. 02:09 The Bible teaches the concept of a beginning 02:13 and the Bible teaches the concept of an end, 02:17 which us, ushers in the new age 02:21 or as it says in other translations, 02:24 "the world to come." 02:28 I don't know if anybody in the studio here 02:32 has had hitchhike. 02:34 Has anybody been a hitchhiker? 02:38 Well, obviously, you had more money going 02:41 to college that I had. 02:44 Because when I went to Avondale College, 02:47 I think I was rich in true riches, 02:51 but I didn't have a lot of money. 02:53 So when I wanted to get from Avondale College, 02:57 up to my home of Brisbane, I had to get out on the road, 03:01 and I had to hitchhike, usually it took a day for me 03:06 to get home, it's a 550 miles. 03:08 But I'd be picked up by semitrailers, 03:10 and sometimes private cars, and... 03:13 I didn't have the money to go by train, 03:15 so I hitchhiked. 03:18 But one vacation I decided to take a friend of mine 03:22 at the college home so he could get 03:26 some Australian hospitality. 03:29 His name was Prasad. 03:32 Prasad, he became my best friend at college. 03:36 And he was as black, as black, as black can be. 03:43 I didn't realize what was going on. 03:46 But when Prasad and I got out on the side of the road, 03:49 going to Brisbane on the New England highway, 03:54 Prasad was standing there beside me. 03:56 He's a black guy. I'm a white guy. 04:00 I could get home in a day. 04:03 But with Prasad, nobody would stop. 04:08 Where shows there was a little bit 04:10 of real racism operating in Australia, 04:14 that's something that people would not mention, 04:17 they would not admit to it. 04:21 He's a black guy. 04:22 In fact, he was a black guy who came from India. 04:28 He's a Christian gentleman. 04:31 But we took three days and three nights. 04:36 It was the middle of winter, 04:39 and neither of us had an overcoat, 04:41 or a trench coat, or some people call it. 04:43 We went up to New England highway. 04:46 We got to a place by the name of Gara. 04:51 Oh, it was sleeting, 04:54 and raining, and snowing. 04:58 By the time we got there, 04:59 we hadn't eaten for more than two days. 05:04 We just young guys, we had appetites, 05:07 we're just hungry. 05:10 We spent a night in a telephone booth. 05:16 You know what a telephone booth is, 05:17 don't you? 05:19 Yeah, you see them on Doctor Who 05:21 in that British series. 05:24 You know why we spend tonight in the telephone booth? 05:28 Keep the rain and the cold off. 05:31 It was freezing. 05:33 Now we were wet, and we were cold, 05:35 and we were miserable. 05:37 And on the third day, we had on the road again just hoping, 05:41 and praying, and a semitrailer stopped. 05:44 We got into the cabin of the semitrailer. 05:47 It was so, so warm. Just so nice. 05:53 Then we traveled on another hundred miles 05:55 or so up to Tenterfield, 05:57 and we came to the top of the range. 05:59 As we came down the range, 06:02 I saw something that was really good, 06:08 the lights of home. 06:10 When you're cold, and you would spend a night 06:13 in a telephone booth, 06:15 it's sure hard to beat the lights of home. 06:19 Because I knew when I got home, I would have a welcome. 06:25 I knew that Prasad and I would be safe, and we would be sound. 06:31 I knew that there would be hot soup 06:34 and as we call them in Australia, 06:36 they would be rissoles, we call them patties here 06:40 in the United States of America. 06:42 I knew that we will be able to have a hot shower 06:46 and we would have a warm bed. 06:50 Listen to me. 06:53 When you've been traveling, and the traveling 06:56 is not all that good, 06:59 it's great to know you're going home. 07:04 And today, I'm going to talk to you about going home. 07:10 I want you to turn in your Bibles 07:11 to John 14:1-3, 07:16 dear hearts and gentle people. 07:20 John 14:1-3. 07:27 Jesus said, 07:28 "Let not your hearts be troubled..." 07:30 Look at the text. 07:32 He said, "You believe in God, believe also in Me. 07:36 In my Father's house..." 07:37 Put that in your mind. 07:39 "In My Father's house, many mansions, lots of rooms, 07:44 if it were not so, I would have told you. 07:47 I go to prepare a place for you. 07:49 And if I go and prepare a place for you, 07:52 I will come again and receive you to Myself 07:55 that where I am there you may be also." 08:01 Listen to this because 08:02 I'm going to tell you stuff today 08:04 that you won't hear on any other television program. 08:06 This is a fact. 08:09 There's a place that is called in the Bible, 08:12 the Father's house. 08:16 It's a separate place. It's a different place. 08:20 And Jesus said, I'm going to go to my Father's house 08:24 and in my Father's house there's plenty good room. 08:28 The Bible teaches, actually, there are three heavens. 08:34 Now most folks don't get this, but this is true, 08:36 there are three heavens. 08:38 You read about them in 2 Corinthians 12:2 and 4, 08:45 dear hearts and gentle people. 08:46 2 Corinthians Chapter 12 and... 08:51 Chapter 12 it is. 08:52 2 Corinthians 12:2. 08:57 This man says, Paul says, "No man in Christ 09:01 who fourteen years ago, 09:03 whether in the body I do not know, 09:06 or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows. 09:10 Such a one was caught up to" where? 09:13 What does it say in the Bible? 09:15 Have a look at it. 09:16 It says, "Such a one was caught up 09:18 to the third heaven." 09:19 And if you come to verse 4, it says, 09:21 "How he was caught up into Paradise 09:25 and heard inexpressible words, 09:27 which it is not lawful for a man to utter." 09:31 So the Bible teaches there are three heavens 09:35 and the Bible says, "The third heaven is a place 09:39 which is called paradise," which would be... 09:45 This would be the Father's house. 09:49 So let's talk for a little bit today 09:51 about these three heavens. 09:54 The first heaven is the atmosphere 09:57 around this earth. 10:00 And that is described 10:01 in the Book of Revelation 19:17. 10:05 Please notice it in the Bible, Revelation 19:17. 10:12 "Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, 10:15 cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds 10:18 that fly in the midst of heaven." 10:21 It's not talking about the stars, the atmosphere. 10:25 "Come and gather together 10:26 for the supper of the great God." 10:29 So the Bible says that there is a heaven 10:31 where the birds fly. 10:33 We call this the atmospheric heaven. 10:37 The Bible says, it's going to be renewed, it needs to be. 10:44 It is so polluted today by carbon. 10:48 There are great chimneys 10:49 that are continually pumping out 10:52 into the first heaven a vast mass of filth 10:57 and garbage which is destroying the earth. 11:01 And the earth is now after a long time starting 11:03 to protest, and the earth is running a fever. 11:08 Even though it's disputed by some people, 11:10 there is no dispute among scientists and educated people. 11:17 Years ago, in Thousand Oaks, I was jogging as I often do 11:22 get outside walking, and I was jogging after there 11:25 had been a tremendous fire. 11:28 So there were all these ashes, I was running over these ashes. 11:33 And I got a thing in my lungs, which is called valley fever. 11:36 Ever heard of it? 11:38 It's a terrible thing, 11:40 it lives here in this part of the world. 11:41 It's valley fever, it's not a virus, not a germ, 11:48 it's a fungus. 11:50 I've got the remnant still here in my chest. 11:53 When they look at my chest they say, 11:54 "Hey, what do you got?" 11:55 No, it's okay. The remnants of valley fever. 11:59 I had a fever for two weeks, but I'd get out of bed, 12:03 I take some tablets, get my temperature down. 12:06 I'd get outside and I'd walk with this thing, 12:08 I'm not gonna let this thing beat me. 12:10 I wasn't going to die in bed, but I was burning up. 12:16 The Bible tells us right now 12:18 because of the sins of the human race, 12:21 planet earth is running a fever 12:26 and it's burning up. 12:28 The earth is sick. 12:30 It is a scientific fact, 12:33 undeniable that the poles are melting 12:36 because I know, no, it's propaganda, false news. 12:40 No, no, the poles are melting. 12:42 Even the seas that act like great sponges to soak up 12:47 the carbon are running hot. 12:49 And that's why the hurricanes are getting more deadly, 12:52 one, two, three, four, five category. 12:55 Scientists now are about to name category six 12:59 because the hurricanes are going to be 13:01 worse than anything we can imagine. 13:05 We are chopping down 13:06 the forest of the mighty Amazon. 13:09 Those forests are the lungs of the world. 13:13 We're raping the earth. 13:16 You know why we're doing it? 13:19 For money. 13:23 And the people who deny it or deny it 13:26 because they know money! 13:32 I was born in a place in Australia, 13:34 a state called Queensland, named after the queen, 13:37 Queen Victoria. 13:40 The Queenslanders are cutting down the trees 13:44 in Queensland twice as fast as they're doing it 13:49 in Brazil, in the Amazon. 13:51 You know why? A lust for money. 13:58 The earth, the seas, the forests, 14:02 and the atmosphere are crying out for vengeance 14:08 and deliverance. 14:10 And this will usher in the world to come. 14:14 So the first heaven, atmosphere, the second heaven, 14:18 the universe or stars. 14:20 Notice Psalm 19:1 and 2, the universe, stars. 14:26 "The heavens declare the glory of God, 14:29 the firmament of God shows His handiwork. 14:32 Day unto day, utters speech. 14:34 And night unto night reveals knowledge." 14:36 The Bible talks number one, the atmosphere, number two, 14:40 the stellar heavens. 14:43 We are a tiny part of the Milky Way system 14:47 on this galaxy. 14:49 Our galaxy contains 200 billion blazing suns. 14:54 Our galaxy right at the very heart, 14:57 right at the very heart of our galaxy 15:00 of 200 billion suns, 15:03 at the very heart is a black hole. 15:06 And this causes 15:09 this great galaxy to move around the center 15:12 about 30,000 light years, 15:16 30,000 or 40,000 light years 15:18 from the center of our galaxy is planet earth. 15:25 It's protected by an arm of the galaxy 15:28 that saves us from radiation. 15:32 It's impossible for us to live 15:35 in any other place in our galaxy. 15:39 How did it happen? 15:41 Let me tell you something that virtually nobody knows 15:44 except the scientists. 15:45 We are on this planet that has a front seat view 15:52 of the entire universe. 15:56 We can look out with an unobstructed view. 16:00 It almost appears as though somebody wants us 16:05 to look out an unobstructed view. 16:11 Listen to this, this is, 16:13 we can't take it in. 16:16 In the universe, 16:17 there are at least 200 billion galaxies. 16:21 I'm not talking about stars, 16:22 I'm talking about galaxies, 200 billion. 16:24 But the latest estimate now is that we're wrong, 16:27 it's really 2 trillion, at least 2 trillion galaxies, 16:31 and each of those galaxies contain 16:34 about 200 billion blazing suns, 16:37 plus many smaller galaxies, 16:39 black holes, comets, and planets. 16:43 Now listen very carefully. 16:47 I appeal to the atheist, the cynic. 16:52 Listen, we're not talking religion. 16:55 Listen. 16:58 It is now the consensus 17:00 that the universe had a beginning. 17:03 For hundreds of years, the scientific world said, 17:06 "No, the universe never had a beginning. 17:08 And therefore they taught the idea of the steady state." 17:13 Scientists did not want to concede 17:17 that our universe had a beginning 17:20 because of the theological consequences 17:23 and implications, 17:24 because a beginning means a beginner. 17:28 You know what I'm talking about. 17:31 A beginning means that there is a beginner. 17:35 And therefore scientists said, "We can't believe in this. 17:38 We believe in the steady state of the universe. 17:39 It's always been there." 17:42 Another thing was very embarrassing. 17:44 This is the scientific truth, this is not religious. 17:48 The evolutionary theory says that life came from non life 17:53 and by itself would take not billions of years, 17:56 but trillions, and trillions, and trillions of years. 18:00 Therefore, they have to have a universe 18:02 that had no beginning. 18:05 But now we know that the universe came into being 18:10 in relatively recent times. 18:13 I'm not talking about planet earth, 18:16 I am talking about the great cosmos. 18:20 And every scientist in the world, 18:21 whether he's an atheist, or a Christian, or whatever, 18:26 every scientist believes 18:28 from the exploration of the universe 18:30 that the universe came into being 18:32 13.8 billion years ago. 18:37 He said, "No, no, but that's just made up." 18:39 No, it's not a made up story. 18:42 They can see it now with the telescopes. 18:47 They know when the universe was born. 18:52 It is an established fact and we can argue over religion, 18:56 but don't argue over facts. 19:00 Now please turn with me to Genesis 1:1. 19:03 My dear friends, Genesis1:1. 19:08 Probably the greatest statement that has ever been made 19:11 in the history of the world, "In the beginning 19:16 God created the heavens and the earth." 19:23 Even Einstein for many years 19:25 did not believe in the beginning. 19:26 He said, "No, it's always been there." 19:28 No, it hasn't always been there. 19:30 There was a beginning. 19:35 And if there was a beginning, 19:38 there was a beginner. 19:42 Listen to me, a lot of this stuff, 19:45 you're never going to hear in a church, 19:47 not in a million years. 19:50 Listen to this. 19:51 The Bible says, 19:54 "The time started." 19:56 It actually says in the Bible, 19:59 "Before time began, 20:04 there was a time when there was no time." 20:10 We now know, this is a scientific fact 20:14 that before the beginning of our cosmos, 20:18 there was no time. 20:22 So silly to talk about God having a beginning 20:26 because there was no time. 20:31 At the very beginning, 20:33 four forces came into being in the universe. 20:36 This is scientific truth. 20:37 Nothing to do with theology, nothing to do with churches. 20:42 There were four forces 20:43 that were created at the beginning. 20:47 Its gravity, 20:50 strong nuclear force, 20:53 weak nuclear force, 20:57 and electromagnetism, 20:58 four forces. 21:00 These forces had not existed before the beginning, 21:05 gravity, electromagnetism, 21:07 strong nuclear force, the weak nuclear force. 21:10 Listen to me, 21:12 if you're an atheist 21:13 I want to appeal to you about this. 21:16 It's no good saying I'm an atheist 21:18 because I want to be an atheist, 21:19 that's dishonesty. 21:22 We need to be intellectually honest. 21:27 If these forces that were created 21:30 when time was created in the beginning 13.78 21:36 or so give or take a bit billion years ago, 21:40 if these forces had been out of sync, 21:44 out of balance by one quadrillionth 21:49 of one quadrillionth, of one quadrillionth, 21:52 of one quadrillionth, of one quadrillionth of 1%, 21:57 we wouldn't be sitting here today. 22:00 The universe would have exploded. 22:02 You say, I don't believe it. 22:04 Well, you don't have to believe it, 22:05 but it's science. 22:06 It's the truth. It's the fact. 22:09 And that is why so many scientists today 22:12 have come in out of the cold and they say, 22:15 "Hey, if there is a beginning, there's got to be a beginner. 22:23 I've talked a little bit in some of my lectures 22:25 about dark energy and dark matter. 22:29 Oh, just want to talk about a little more 22:31 because it's so important. 22:34 What is it? 22:36 Haven't got a clue? 22:38 Does any scientist at present know what it is? 22:40 No. 22:41 Will they discover one day? Maybe. 22:44 But this stuff which is called 22:47 dark matter and dark energy comprises 99% of the universe. 22:54 You say, "Well, it's because we just, 22:57 were not available to see it. 22:58 We don't have telescope." 23:00 No, no, that's not the point. 23:01 It can't be seen. 23:05 We can't live without it. 23:07 It can't be seen. 23:10 But we know it's there because it's got a force. 23:14 The dark energy lives on the surface of the universe 23:19 and drives the expansion of the universe. 23:22 You say the expansion of the universe? 23:24 Yeah, yeah, yeah. 23:26 It is a scientific fact, 23:27 you don't, can't argue about it, 23:30 because it can be seen, the universe is expanding. 23:38 And this is one reason 23:39 scientists have come to believe in the beginning 23:44 because if it's expanding out like this, 23:47 then it had a start, you see. 23:51 Had a beginning and that is why so many today 23:54 are coming in out of the cold and they're saying, 23:56 "If there's a beginning, then there must be a beginner." 24:01 Listen to this. 24:03 Now this is a new idea for most of us. 24:07 A few years ago it dawned upon me 24:09 as I studied this. 24:10 The Bible talks about the universe, 24:16 the second heaven... 24:17 First is atmosphere, the second, stellar the stars. 24:22 And the Bible talks about the Father's house. 24:26 Now the Father... Now put your thinking caps on. 24:32 The Father existed before time. 24:36 The Father existed before 13.78 24:41 or so billion years. 24:44 And the Father was a part from our creation. 24:51 That's a fact. 24:53 The Father is not a part of our creation. 24:58 He was there and He made the universe. 25:03 Now listen to this. 25:08 What I'm telling you is not only biblical truth, 25:10 prophetic truth, it is scientific truth. 25:13 Listen carefully, concentrate. 25:17 The Bible says that the earth is going to get so polluted, 25:24 that the earth is going to come into a place 25:29 where God is going to intervene. 25:32 Say, "No." Yes. 25:35 "No." Yes. 25:38 And when God intervenes, 25:41 He is going to make a new heaven 25:47 and a new earth. 25:50 This whole thing 25:51 that I've shown you on the screen today, 25:55 this is not speculation, 25:56 this is not church talk, 25:59 this is scientific, it is biblical, 26:03 and He's going to make a new heaven 26:05 and a new earth. 26:06 We'll talk about that in our next segment. 26:23 In the series, "This I Believe," 26:26 Pastor Carter reveals the heart and soul of the Carter Report. 26:30 I believe in Jesus Christ. 26:34 I believe in the Ten Commandments. 26:40 I believe in the true gospel. 26:45 I believe in the last days. 26:50 I believe in the America that believes in God. 26:57 I believe in heaven. 27:01 I believe in evangelism. 27:07 This I believe. 27:10 The 7-DVD series, "This I Believe" 27:13 can be yours with a gift of $75 US 27:16 or a $105 Australian. 27:18 Please write to us at the address on the screen 27:20 or visit our website at cartereport.org. 27:25 Time, it takes only a minute to have eternal life. 27:29 How can you get saved in a minute? 27:31 It's simple. 27:33 First, believe that Jesus was the Son of God. 27:35 Second, accept His free gift of eternal life 27:38 and then you're saved. 27:40 It's not hard. It doesn't take any time. 27:43 You can be saved in a minute right now. 27:46 Pray with me, "Lord God, I realize that I am a sinner. 27:50 My sin has separated me from You. 27:52 I accept that Your Son Jesus Christ died for me. 27:55 I ask Jesus into my heart." 27:58 If you prayed this prayer, you are saved. 28:00 The next thing to do is, tell someone. 28:03 Fellowship with other followers of Jesus, get baptized, 28:07 read your Bible, and pray. 28:09 Choices, we make them every day, all day. 28:13 The most important choice you'll make in your life 28:16 is whether to choose eternal life 28:18 or let it pass you by. 28:20 If you would like more information 28:21 about your new life, 28:22 call the number and visit our website. 28:28 For a copy of today's program, 28:30 please contact us at P.O.
