00:04 In Havana, Cuba. 00:07 Now in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. 00:10 I'm John Carter in Petra. 00:13 Right here in Communist China. 00:16 Reporting from India. 00:18 Hi, I'm John Carter in the Solomon Islands. 00:21 I'm John Carter in Soweto. 00:23 From El Salvador. 00:26 I'm John Carter in Sydney, Australia. 00:29 Now from John Carter, 00:30 "The True Gospel and No Fake News." 00:36 Today, we're talking about 00:38 "The True Gospel and No Fake News." 00:42 I want to give a great welcome today 00:44 to our new viewers on the great network 00:46 across the United States of America, 00:48 The CW Network. 00:51 We're just so glad that you've joined our family, a friend. 00:55 Want to give a special welcome too to our viewers 00:58 in Ukraine on Hope TV, 01:01 and on 3ABN right around the world, 01:04 also on Roku, 01:07 and Amazon Fire, and lots and lots of outlets 01:10 and to our studio audience today, 01:13 we give you an extraordinary welcome. 01:16 We're glad that you're here. 01:18 Now today, as I talk about the true gospel, 01:23 no fake news, 01:25 I'm going to ask you to try to do something, 01:29 going to ask you to try to step out of the box. 01:36 And most of us are in little boxes, 01:38 sometimes the boxes that have been made up 01:41 by the church. 01:42 So I want you to get out of your box 01:45 by the grace of God 01:47 and to think for yourself. 01:51 May I say this? 01:52 This is almost revolutionary. 01:54 Don't trust the priest. 01:57 He's not your authority. 01:59 Don't trust the minister, 02:02 he's just like me, 02:03 makes lots and lots of mistakes. 02:05 Certainly don't trust the politicians. 02:12 These are authority figures. 02:15 And people have been brainwashed 02:17 into watching and believing in authority figures, 02:23 including my own church. 02:26 But I want to say to you, 02:27 we need to discover the truth 02:29 about the true gospel and not to be taken in 02:34 by fake news. 02:36 I want to tell you about John Carter, 02:38 would you like to hear about him? 02:40 Yeah. 02:41 1625, now, this is not me. 02:48 Somebody may come to me later tonight and they'll say, 02:53 "You look pretty well, but you know, 02:56 at stretching it 1625." 02:58 Okay, this is the story of John Carter in 1625. 03:03 John Carter left England and immigrated to Virginia. 03:08 He became a very wealthy landowner. 03:11 He owned 13,500 acres 03:15 with lots and lots of slaves. 03:19 He became a member of the House of Burgesses 03:23 and commander of the local militia. 03:26 John Carter, was he my relative? 03:30 Yeah, of course he was. 03:32 Yeah, he was. 03:34 I'm talking about my relative, John Carter, 03:39 who came here in 1625. 03:42 He had with his wife, 03:45 sons and daughters, including Robert 03:49 and John Carter II. 03:53 After the death of John Carter II, 03:57 Robert became the acting governor 04:01 of the British colony. 04:05 Aye, he's a big guy. 04:07 1726, the governor, 04:10 director of the College of William 04:13 and Mary, ever heard of that place? 04:15 It's a great university. 04:17 He is called... 04:19 Now don't let this go to your heads. 04:21 He is called King Carter. 04:27 What do you folks laughing at? 04:29 He's talking about King Carter. 04:32 We're talking about King Carter. 04:34 Was he my relative? 04:35 Yeah, of course, he was. 04:38 I don't know why you folks are laughing. 04:40 I'm not saying anything to amuse you. 04:42 I'm absolutely sober and serious. 04:45 He became the richest 04:46 and the most powerful man of his day. 04:49 He had an estate of 333,000 acres 04:56 and more than 1000 slaves, 05:00 King Carter, 05:02 plus 10,000 English pounds 05:05 and a main sum of money in those days. 05:10 We're talking here today about King Carter. 05:15 His grandson was Robert Carter III, 05:20 the largest single slave owner 05:23 in the whole state of Virginia. 05:28 He became an American patriot. 05:32 He renounced his oath of loyalty 05:34 to King George of England, 05:40 which as a British citizen, 05:42 I still find slightly offensive. 05:49 That was meant to be a crack up joke. 05:53 So he became an American patriot 05:56 and I'm proud about this. 06:00 He was neighbor to fellow slave owner, 06:03 George, who? 06:05 George Washington, a big slave owner 06:09 and the peer of the famous American, 06:13 Thomas Jefferson. 06:16 Robert Carter, 06:19 descendent of John Carter 06:21 is called by the historian, 06:24 the Great Emancipator. 06:27 Is he related to me? 06:28 Yeah, of course he is. 06:31 In 1791, 06:34 70 years 06:36 before the American Civil War 06:42 and before Abraham Lincoln, 06:48 this man the descendent of John Carter, 06:52 Robert Carter signed the document 06:55 to release all his slaves 06:58 before any other American had ever thought about it, 07:03 1791. 07:05 He was a man 07:06 many, many years ahead of his time. 07:09 He thought outside the colonial American box. 07:19 He was not brainwashed, 07:21 not controlled by the crowd, 07:23 not afraid to think differently. 07:27 He was a non-traditionalist. 07:31 And I ask you, what about you? 07:35 We live today at a time in the history of the world, 07:39 and in the history of the great Republic 07:43 of the United States of America, 07:45 when most people are inside their own boxes. 07:53 And they haven't thought a new thought in 50 years. 07:59 And I'm talking here about people 08:02 who take the name of Christ. 08:08 This man, 08:09 the descendent of John Carter was not a party man. 08:13 He was not a company man. 08:17 I met them by the legion. 08:20 What do you believe? 08:22 I believe what my church believes. 08:24 What does your church believe? 08:26 My church believes what I believe. 08:29 Or what does your church believe, 08:31 and what do you believe? 08:33 We think the same. 08:36 This is mark of the beast thinking. 08:41 This is not the thinking of the Disciples of Christ. 08:47 Now this is very difficult because it's painful. 08:51 Most people have given up thinking 08:54 because it is painful 08:56 and I'm talking especially about religious people. 09:01 This talk is an invitation to think for yourself 09:05 about the most important subject, 09:08 which is the true Gospel of Christ. 09:11 Because I tell you on the authority of history 09:14 and the authority of Scripture 09:16 that most people do not understand 09:19 the Gospel of Christ. 09:23 They believe in fake news, 09:27 I'm telling you. 09:31 Now, the text I want you to turn to is Revelation 13:14-17, 09:37 you got it? 09:39 And I'm going to read it to you out of the Word of the Lord, 09:44 Revelation 13:14 and onwards, 09:47 "And he deceives those who dwell on the earth 09:50 by those signs which he was granted to do 09:53 in the sight of the beast," that's the antichrist, 09:56 "telling those who dwell on the earth 09:58 to make an image to the beast 10:00 which was wounded by the sword and lived. 10:03 He was granted power to give breath 10:05 to the image of the beast, 10:06 that the image of the beast should both speak 10:09 and cause as many as would not worship the image 10:12 to be killed." 10:13 This is serious business. 10:15 "He causes all both small and great, 10:17 rich and poor, free and slave 10:19 to receive a mark on their right hand 10:22 or on their foreheads." 10:24 And then it says, 10:26 "And that no one may buy or sell except one 10:29 who has the mark or the name of the beast, 10:32 or the number of his name." 10:35 In the last days the Bible tells us, 10:38 there will be a tremendous movement 10:42 of conformity. 10:45 People will be told to conform. 10:49 And the vast majority of people in this world, 10:52 I tell you, even religious people, 10:55 like you and me, 10:57 will put up their hands and they'll say, "Me too. 11:01 Hey, give it to me. 11:03 I want the mark of the beast too." 11:05 Because I've never thought a new thought in my life 11:08 and I'm simply marching in line with the crowd. 11:13 So whatever the priest tells me, 11:16 whatever the church says, I say, "Me too," 11:19 that is mark of the beast thinking. 11:24 Therefore, my appeal to you is simply this, 11:28 sink for yourself 11:31 and get outside the box. 11:34 Come over here to 2 Thessalonians 2: 9-11. 11:41 2 Thessalonians 2: 9-11. 11:47 "The coming of the lawless one," 11:50 the antichrist, 11:52 "is according to the working of Satan with all power, 11:55 signs, and lying wonders, 11:59 and with all unrighteousness 12:01 deception among those who perish, 12:04 because they did not receive 12:07 the love of the truth 12:10 that they might be saved. 12:12 And for this reason, 12:15 God will send them," what does it say? 12:18 "Strong delusion, 12:20 that they should believe the lie." 12:22 The Bible says, in the last days, 12:26 people, and this is talking especially of religious people 12:30 are going to believe the lie. 12:34 And they're going to put up there 12:36 and when a mark of the beast time, 12:38 and they going to say, "Me too. 12:41 Give me some of that, also." 12:44 I'm so glad that my ancestor, 12:48 Brother Carter was not a party man 12:51 or a company man. 12:53 I once wondered, 12:55 since I've lived in this country 12:57 for more than 30 years. 13:00 How could this possibly happen? 13:02 In the land of free people, 13:04 in the land of brave people 13:06 where we glory in our freedom, 13:11 proud to be an American, 13:13 because at least I know I'm free. 13:17 But you're not free, if you're a party man. 13:22 I don't wonder anymore. 13:24 I've gone back and I've looked at the footage 13:26 from just before the Second World War. 13:30 When the most educated people on the face of the earth, 13:35 the Germans, 13:36 Roman Catholics and Lutherans, 13:40 about 95% of them said, "Sieg Heil" 13:47 and burned the Jews. 13:51 Impossible you say, no, me too. 13:56 Smart educated Germans. 13:58 Now, this is not to offend anybody 14:00 but if anybody is offended, 14:02 I ask you just to please think it through 14:05 and try to keep an open and a rational mind. 14:10 This is one reason why I refuse to belong 14:14 to a political party 14:16 and conform to the policies of any party. 14:20 People have said to me, 14:21 "Oh, no, you ought to be in that part." 14:22 No, no. 14:24 Listen, I am not a Democrat, 14:27 and I am not a Republican. 14:30 I am an independent, 14:32 and I want to belong to Christ's party. 14:35 And if that offends people, I say, "So be it." 14:38 But is it not time for you to think outside of the box? 14:44 I want to be like Robert Carter, 14:47 the descendent of John Carter, 14:49 who went against the current and the crowd. 14:52 That's why he was a great American. 14:57 Now, there's another reason 14:58 why I am impressed with Robert Carter, 15:00 the descendant of John Carter from England. 15:04 Not only did he go against prevailing custom, 15:07 he did a Christ like act, 15:09 he released the slaves 15:11 when the rest of the Christians 15:13 were keeping the slaves and lashing them. 15:16 Can you believe it? 15:19 They said, the Bible gives us the liberty to lash our slaves. 15:27 How can Christian people 15:29 so pervert the Word of God 15:33 that they did by the millions? 15:36 You know why? 15:38 Because they were afraid to think outside the box. 15:42 Robert Carter thought outside the box. 15:45 He released the slaves and that's what Jesus did. 15:51 Jesus cried out from the cross, 15:53 let freedom ring. 15:56 That's the gospel. 15:58 I want you to look at Isaiah 61:1. 16:01 This is a prophecy about the coming of the Messiah. 16:06 Isaiah 61:1, listen to it, 16:09 "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, 16:13 because the Lord has anointed Me, 16:15 the Messiah, 16:16 to preach good tidings to the poor," 16:18 that means the gospel, "good tidings to the poor. 16:21 He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, 16:24 to proclaim liberty to the captives, 16:28 and the opening of the prison to those who are bound." 16:33 So it was the work of the Messiah 16:36 to let the prisoners go free. 16:40 And this is talking, of course, 16:42 not just about the prisoners 16:43 who were slaving on American farms, 16:46 and other places in the British Empire, 16:49 but it's talking about the prisoners of sin. 16:54 If you come over here, please, to Galatians 1:11-12, 17:00 this is a difficult book to read. 17:03 And that is why lazy people avoid it. 17:07 Galatians 1, and I don't think that's funny at all. 17:10 Galatians 1:11-12, 17:14 the Bible teaches that laziness is a sin. 17:19 And I can't see how lazy people can be saved. 17:23 Galatians 1:11-12, 17:25 "But I make known to you, brethren, 17:27 that the gospel which was preached by me, 17:30 is not according to man. 17:33 For I neither received it from man, 17:35 nor was I taught it, 17:37 but it came through," what? 17:39 What does it say? 17:41 "The revelation of Jesus Christ." 17:43 The true gospel, 17:45 this is very difficult to understand. 17:49 The true gospel is not only taught, 17:52 as I'm trying to do here today, 17:55 quite ineffectively, I'm sure. 17:58 But the Bible says, 18:00 the true gospel is revealed by God. 18:05 So that you'll be reading the scriptures, 18:08 or else you'll be listening to a God 18:11 anointed preacher and the light will go on. 18:17 We're not talking here about religion 18:18 because the world is full of junk religion, 18:22 that is full of frauds and superstitions. 18:25 We're talking here about the Holy Gospel of God, 18:30 and this is revealed through Scripture. 18:34 As a man in Texas said to me, 18:36 after I gave a series on the Book of Romans, 18:39 he said, "I have been a church goer for 40 years, 18:44 and tonight I see it. 18:46 What about you? 18:48 You wanna know 18:49 why so many churches are so dead, 18:52 that they should have been buried years ago. 18:56 It's because they've never had a revelation 19:00 of the Gospel of God. 19:02 It comes from God. 19:04 Galatians 1:6-8, look at this, 19:08 "I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him 19:12 who called you in the grace of Christ," 19:14 what does it say? 19:16 Come on, come on, 19:17 "to a different gospel, 19:19 which is not another, 19:20 but there are some who trouble you 19:22 and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 19:25 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, 19:28 preach any other gospel to you 19:30 than that which we have preached to you, 19:32 let him be anathema, let him be accursed." 19:35 What a thing to say. 19:37 So the Apostle Paul, 19:39 the prince of the apostles, 19:40 talks about the one true gospel 19:43 but many perversions, 19:46 fake news. 19:48 So I need to ask myself, 19:50 and it takes a little bit of spiritual grace 19:53 to ask myself the question, 19:55 do I have the true gospel? 19:59 And I'm not saying, do I belong to the true church. 20:03 I'm not saying, am I a good person, 20:06 am I a good father, am I good... 20:07 No, no, I'm asking you the question, 20:09 we should ask ourselves the question. 20:12 And this is very difficult. 20:15 Do I have the true gospel or am I believing fake news? 20:20 Because there's only one true Holy Gospel. 20:26 We need to think differently to the brainwashed multitude, 20:30 brainwashed multitudes? 20:32 Yes, sure. 20:34 Try turning on television, 20:38 brainwashed multitudes. 20:41 People are being brainwashed with all sorts 20:45 of foolish, 20:48 and foolish and stupid ideas. 20:51 We need to think differently. 20:53 We need to learn to think God's thoughts 20:55 that are not man's thoughts 20:58 and we need to think outside the box, 21:02 and that's difficult. 21:05 That's hard. 21:06 That's not for lazy people. 21:10 It's for the people who will be saved. 21:14 Most sermons are about advice. 21:18 You go to church, 21:20 and the preacher tells you what you need to do, 21:23 do, do, cock-a-doodle-doo. 21:25 Keep doing it. 21:27 Do it, brother, you got to do it. 21:29 You got to live this way. 21:30 You got to eat this, you got to eat, 21:31 you got to live. 21:33 That's not the gospel. 21:36 The gospel is not about do, do, do, do, do. 21:40 The gospel is about what God has done. 21:45 The gospel is not good advice, 21:50 the gospel is good news. 21:53 That's what the word means. 21:57 News is about what someone has already done. 22:04 The gospel is not primarily about you 22:09 or me. 22:12 It's about God. 22:14 It's what God has done. 22:18 The gospel is the good news 22:20 that God has freed the prisoners, 22:24 but most of them don't know, 22:26 and they're still living like slaves. 22:32 The gospel is about the Savior. 22:35 Say that word, Savior. 22:37 It's about the Savior. 22:39 I need more than an example. 22:41 Some people like my friends, the Jesuits tell me, 22:45 the gospel is the good news 22:50 that Christ is my example. 22:54 I want more than an example. 22:57 If I'm in a river, and I'm drowning, 23:00 I don't want a man on the bank 23:02 trying to teach me how to swim. 23:06 I need a strong man who throws me a line. 23:09 No! 23:10 I need a strong man 23:11 who gets in the river and gets me out. 23:15 I need not a swimming lesson, 23:19 I need a lifeguard. 23:23 That's the gospel. 23:25 But many, many, many sermons 23:28 or lessons on how to swim. 23:33 I don't need a teacher to tell me how to swim, 23:39 I need a savior. 23:46 Now, 23:49 we're going to talk about great truths 23:51 about the true gospel. 23:54 The next program that follows this two part series 23:57 is going to be on the difference 24:01 between the Gospel of Christ 24:04 and the gospel as taught 24:06 by our friends, the Jesuits. 24:10 Because most folks, I know, 24:13 think the Jesuits are right. 24:16 Oops! 24:18 So you got to think outside the box. 24:22 Here's the first great truth of the gospel. 24:27 Man was made in God's image. 24:32 Look at Genesis 1:27, 24:35 Genesis 1:27. 24:37 "So God created man in His own image, 24:40 in the image of God He created him, 24:42 male and female, He created them." 24:45 I was not made in the image of a monkey. 24:49 I was made in the image of Almighty God. 24:54 Now, listen to this. 24:55 I was made a sinless human being. 25:01 I had no as the theologians use the word, 25:05 I've no propensities to sin, 25:07 no tendencies to evil, 25:09 no inclination, 25:11 it was natural for me to obey God. 25:14 I was made in the image of God. 25:16 In Eden, 25:18 now this is gonna shock some of you 25:19 because you're not thinking outside the box. 25:22 Adam and Eve were saved by obedience. 25:26 Do this and you will live 25:29 and while they did these things, 25:32 they lived. 25:35 God gave to us freedom of choice. 25:37 They had the capacity to choose good and evil, 25:40 like the angels. 25:42 That was a great, a marvelous 25:44 and a dangerous gift. 25:46 We were not made to be robots. 25:51 More amazing truth coming very, very soon. 25:58 Stay with us as we talk about that true gospel, 26:03 and the prevalent fake news. 26:20 There's only one thing that really counts in this lifetime, 26:24 your relationship to Christ. 26:27 And then if you have a right relationship with Christ, 26:30 you want to tell people about Christ. 26:33 That's why Jesus said, "Go into all the world 26:36 and preach the gospel to every creature." 26:40 By the grace of God, 26:41 we're going to do that, we are doing that. 26:44 That is why we're going back to Cuba, 26:47 to this communist land, 26:49 to preach Christ. 26:51 We're accepting an invitation to go to the vast, 26:56 huge city of Manila, 26:58 the capital of the Philippines. 27:00 Been there before, 27:01 but by the grace of God, we're going back. 27:05 Please support us. 27:06 And please stand with us 27:09 in the preaching of the everlasting gospel. 27:12 You say, "How do you do it? 27:13 Who pays the bills?" 27:15 We do. 27:16 "Do you get any help, 27:18 financial help from the church?" 27:19 No, my friend, we don't. 27:21 But we get a lot of help from God and from His children. 27:25 Please support us 27:27 in the preaching of the everlasting gospel. 27:30 It's the most important work in all the world. 27:33 Everything else is almost trivia. 27:36 So would you please write to me?
