00:04 In Havana, Cuba. 00:07 Now in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. 00:10 I'm John Carter in Petra. 00:13 Right here in Communist China. 00:16 Reporting from India. 00:18 Hi, I'm John Carter in the Solomon Islands. 00:21 I'm John Carter in Soweto. 00:24 From El Salvador. 00:26 I'm John Carter in Sydney, Australia. 00:29 John Carter gives us all Reasons to Believe. 00:37 We wanna give you just a tremendous welcome today. 00:40 We welcome you to the program, 00:42 which is entitled Reasons to Believe. 00:44 Now, this is a continuation 00:46 of the first part of the program, 00:48 which was talking about the tremendous prophecy 00:51 of Daniel Chapter 7. 00:53 In this part of the program, 00:55 we're going to give you the identification marks 00:59 of the great, antichrist. 01:02 We believe that faith has got to rest upon evidence. 01:07 We do not believe in a blind faith. 01:11 And I'm going to share with you some of the material 01:13 that I shared with millions of atheists and communists, 01:17 back in the days of the old Soviet Union. 01:20 I want you to come in the Bible to Daniel Chapter 7. 01:22 This is a pick up 01:24 from the first part of the program. 01:26 This is part two Reasons to Believe. 01:28 Daniel 7:7, 01:31 "After this I saw in the night visions 01:33 and behold, a fourth beast," 01:35 or a great nation, 01:37 "dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. 01:40 It had huge iron teeth. 01:42 It was devouring, breaking in pieces, 01:45 and trampling the residue with its feet. 01:47 It was different from all the beasts 01:49 that were before it," notice it, 01:51 "and it had ten horns." 01:54 We noticed in the first program, 01:56 that this great dragon beast 01:58 is the great power of pagan Rome. 02:01 We established that in the first section. 02:04 Now we're going to talk about the ten horns. 02:07 If you look at verse 24, it says, 02:10 "The ten horns are ten kings 02:14 who shall rise from this kingdom," 02:16 come out of Rome, 02:17 "and another shall rise after them." 02:19 That's the antichrist. 02:21 "He shall be different from the first ones, 02:23 and shall subdue three kings." 02:28 The Bible teaches and this was written 02:30 hundreds of years before it happened. 02:32 This prophecy was written about 2500 years ago. 02:36 And the Bible says they'd be Babylon, Medo-Persia, 02:38 Greece, and Rome. 02:40 And then it says that the great Roman Empire 02:44 would be divided as the ten horns represent. 02:47 And this represents the breakup of the Roman Empire 02:51 into the kingdoms, 02:53 and the states of Europe. 02:54 And now, people say, "Are you sure?" 02:57 "Of course, I'm sure." 02:58 This is not theology. 03:01 This is got nothing to do with speculation. 03:04 This is simply talking about history. 03:07 The Bible tells me that between about 300 and 500 AD, 03:12 the old Roman Empire because of internal rot, 03:15 was broken up into the kingdoms 03:18 and the states of Europe. 03:20 That, my friend, is not faith, 03:23 that, my friend, is what? 03:25 It's fact, its absolute fact. 03:27 The year was 1991, I was in Moscow, 03:30 and Gorbachev was still in the Kremlin. 03:32 We were running meetings in the Palace of Culture, 03:35 professors from Moscow University just turned up 03:38 by the hundreds and by the thousands. 03:42 And this went on live Moscow television, 03:46 broadcast all over the old Soviet Union. 03:49 And they asked me this question, 03:51 "Why have we been told so many lies?" 03:56 They said, "We were told there was," 03:58 these are some of the people who came to the lectures, 04:00 "We were taught that there was no God. 04:04 We were taught that God was dead." 04:07 And one professor said to me, 04:08 "Look what we did. 04:10 We murdered 70 million people. 04:13 Didn't just shoot, we tortured them to death." 04:17 Because there's Dostoyevsky, the great Russian writer said, 04:21 "If there is no God, 04:25 everything is possible." 04:28 And so they murdered, 04:29 they pillaged, and they raped. 04:32 "Let the atheist not forget it. 04:35 If there is no God, all things are possible." 04:39 Now back to Daniel 7. 04:41 Now we're going to see the identification marks 04:43 of antichrist, a pseudo Christian power, 04:46 verse 8, "I was considering the horns," 04:50 that's the kings of Europe, " 04:51 and there was another horn, 04:53 a little one, coming up among them, 04:54 before whom three of the first horns 04:56 were plucked up by the roots. 04:58 And there in this horn, 04:59 were eyes like the eyes of a man, 05:02 and a mouth speaking pompous things." 05:06 This is the antichrist. 05:08 So the Bible tells me 05:09 that the antichrist does not arise in the Americas, 05:13 he doesn't rise in China. 05:15 The Bible tells me that the antichrist 05:18 arises on the ruins of the Roman Empire. 05:23 This is not speculation, this is history. 05:28 And how did Daniel know? 05:31 Look at verse 23, 24, of the same chapter. 05:38 "Thus he said, 'The fourth beast shall be 05:39 a fourth kingdom on earth," that's Rome, 05:42 "which shall be different from all the other kingdoms, 05:45 and shall devour the whole earth, 05:47 trample it down and break it in pieces. 05:49 The ten horns are ten kings, 05:52 who shall arise from this kingdom," 05:54 that's the breakup of the Roman Empire, 05:56 into the kingdoms and the states of Europe, 05:59 "and another," the antichrist, 06:00 "shall rise after them," 06:02 he comes up after the kings of Europe, 06:04 "He shall be different from the first ones, 06:07 and shall subdue three kings.'" 06:10 So he comes up 06:12 after the kingdoms of Europe, 06:14 history tells me that the kingdoms of Europe 06:18 were pretty much settled by around 500 AD. 06:22 And so we are looking for a power 06:25 that comes up in Europe 06:27 that dominates the world. 06:29 And it comes up around 500 AD. 06:34 And the Bible tells me you remember the text, 06:37 the Bible says, "He shall be different." 06:42 And the reason this king is different, 06:45 I'm telling you from the prophecy 06:47 is because he's religious. 06:52 Look in your Bible, 06:54 2 Thessalonians 2:4, 06:57 talking of the antichrist, it says, 07:00 "Who opposes and exalts himself 07:02 above all that is called God or that is worshiped. 07:05 So that he sits as God in the temple of God, 07:09 showing himself that he is God." 07:12 The antichrist, the Bible says, 07:16 sits in a very temple of God. 07:20 He is a pseudo Christian power. 07:24 And you remember, the Bible says, 07:27 "He subdued three kings." 07:30 When this great religious power 07:33 came on the world scene, 07:36 there were three powers 07:38 that withstood his might, 07:40 the Heruli, the Vandals, and the Ostrogoths, 07:44 and they were destroyed by this religious king, 07:49 who lived on the ruins of the Roman Empire. 07:52 Look at Daniel 7:25. 07:56 It says, he's a pompous power, 07:59 "He shall speak pompous words 08:02 against the Most High." 08:04 Number one, he speaks pompous words. 08:07 He's got a big mouth. 08:09 "Shall persecute the saints of the Most High." 08:12 Let that sink down into the molecules 08:14 of your minds. 08:16 "He shall persecute the saints of the Most High, 08:20 and shall intend to change times and law." 08:23 You mess with the law of God. 08:25 "Then the saints shall be given into his hand," 08:28 he's going to persecute people, 08:30 "for a time and times, 08:32 and half a time." 08:34 It says, this religious power 08:38 that would rise on the ruins of the Roman Empire 08:42 would be a persecuting religious power. 08:50 Listen to me. 08:52 What happened was this. 08:53 Church and state join together. 08:57 I know there are people right here 08:59 in the United States of America, 09:01 who would love us to have a theocracy, 09:05 and make Jesus the king. 09:07 And we would have a great religious nation, 09:11 and then you know what would happen, 09:14 we would start to persecute. 09:18 That's why America is against the union of church and state 09:23 in case you didn't know. 09:26 That's what made America great. 09:28 But this power persecutes 09:30 and burns the saints. 09:34 You say, "I've never heard anything like this." 09:36 Well, I'm sorry. 09:39 But go and look up on the internet, 09:41 go and see about the Inquisition. 09:45 Tens of thousands, mainly Roman Catholics, 09:50 burned to death and burned slowly 09:54 for the glory of God, and Jews, 09:57 and Protestants, and anybody 09:59 who thought outside the box. 10:05 The genius of antichrist 10:09 is the desire to make people conform. 10:14 If you're a conformist, 10:15 you're getting ready 10:17 for the mark of the beast, my friend. 10:21 The Bible tells us they were people 10:23 who refused to conform, 10:25 and they were burned at the stake. 10:29 In fact, we now know that 10:31 this pseudo Christian power that arose on the ruins 10:36 of the Roman Empire in Rome 10:40 put to death 10:42 millions and millions 10:44 and millions of people. 10:49 Check it out. 10:52 Look at verse 25, again, 10:54 "He shall speak pompous words, 10:56 he shall speak pompous word against the Most High." 10:59 You're gonna say, "We hold upon this earth, 11:01 the place of God Almighty. 11:03 We can let you into heaven, 11:04 and we can keep you out of heaven." 11:07 I want you to know, 11:08 the only person that I need to please 11:10 is the Lord Jesus Christ. 11:13 Jesus died for me, 11:14 and He has the keys to the kingdom. 11:17 You see? 11:19 "He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, 11:21 shall persecute the saints of the Most High." 11:26 A religious power, persecuting people. 11:30 "And shall intend to change times and law." 11:32 He did this. 11:34 He changed the commandments of God. 11:36 "Then the saints shall be given into his hand 11:39 for time and times, and half a time." 11:42 And time times, and half a time 11:44 is the old way of saying it in the Bible, 11:47 for three and a half years. 11:50 One year, times, two years, 11:53 and I can prove this. 11:55 Come over here to Revelation 12:6. 11:58 Revelation 12:6. I'm saying to you. 12:04 We want you to have the facts, we want you to have the truth, 12:09 we don't want you to have a fake faith. 12:12 We want your faith to be based upon evidence. 12:15 Revelation 12:6, 12:17 "Then the woman," in Bible prophecy, 12:19 the woman always symbolizes the church, 12:22 a bad woman is the bad church, 12:24 and a good woman is the good church. 12:26 "Then the woman fed into the wilderness," 12:28 a place of obscurity, 12:29 "where she has a place prepared by God, 12:32 that they should feed her there," 12:34 look at it, 12:35 "one thousand two hundred and sixty days." 12:39 And if you study the prophecies, 12:42 the prophecies are given in symbolic language. 12:46 A beast is symbolic of a nation. 12:50 And these days are symbolic of years. 12:56 After Constantine the Great, 12:59 church and state became united. 13:02 They had a man there who was very charismatic. 13:06 And they said, "He is our Cyrus, 13:09 he is a mighty leader." 13:11 "Hallelujah," they said. 13:15 He's going to lead us into the Promised Land. 13:17 He became a Christian of assault. 13:23 And then what he did? 13:25 He took the power of the state, 13:27 and he joined it to the power of the church. 13:34 And remember this, look at me, 13:37 church and state join together 13:40 is the essence of antichrist. 13:44 And I got people here in America 13:46 and other places saying, 13:47 we just want to get the church and the state together, 13:51 you may, and you will set up antichrist, 13:53 that's what you'll do. 13:55 And you'll get the mark of the beast. 13:56 That's what you get. 13:59 So Constantine brought it all in. 14:02 And by about 500 AD, 14:04 the church had become a colossal power 14:07 that was persecuting people, burning people, 14:11 changing the law of God, 14:13 and this is what they call the Dark Ages, 14:17 a time of ignorance. 14:20 And we are going into another Dark Age. 14:25 I'm telling you where people are so ignorant of the truth. 14:30 They're getting brainwashed by television, 14:33 they're getting brainwashed by the media, 14:35 they're getting brainwashed by the politicians. 14:41 Satan is binding the people up into bundles, 14:45 getting ready to burn them. 14:48 You say, "This is too strong." No. 14:51 This is old fashioned American theology. 14:56 This is what the Pilgrim Fathers believed. 14:59 What? What? What? Yes, yes, yes, yes. 15:03 This is what the founding fathers 15:06 of America believed. 15:08 And this power that ruled for more than 1000 years 15:12 came to an end in 1798 15:15 when Napoleon sent one of his generals, 15:18 General Berthier down into Rome, 15:21 and took the pontiff prisoner. 15:25 No! Yes. 15:27 How do you know? 15:28 Go, just go online. 15:30 Check it out. 15:32 Check out the Inquisition, 15:34 check out the Dark Ages, 15:36 check out the French Revolution, 15:37 check out General Berthier. 15:42 And so we're looking here today 15:44 at a pseudo Christian power. 15:48 Would educated person can deny these things? 15:53 You need to think outside the box. 15:58 Because Jesus said, "You'll know the truth, 16:02 and the truth will make you free." 16:05 But if you don't know the truth, 16:07 you will be in bondage in every way possible. 16:10 Now look at Daniel 7:27. 16:14 Daniel 7:27. 16:17 After the rule of antichrist, 16:21 "Then the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness 16:24 of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, 16:26 shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High. 16:30 His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, 16:32 and all dominions shall serve and obey Him." 16:37 There is a great event to which everything 16:40 in history moves, 16:43 nothing can stop it. 16:45 It's an extra bowl. 16:48 When you study the great prophecy of Daniel 7, 16:51 you have Babylon, Medo-Persia, 16:53 Greece, and Rome. 16:55 The division of the Roman Empire 16:57 into the kingdoms and the states of Europe 16:59 written down 2500 years ago. 17:04 Has Richard Dawkins ever studied this? 17:05 No, of course not. 17:07 Because he came out of that system 17:11 and was kept in darkness. 17:14 I can understand his anger. 17:16 So Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, 17:19 the breakup of the Roman Empire, 17:23 and then the little king who comes. 17:26 We're gonna have a look at this. 17:27 Look at the following facts. 17:29 Number one, Babylon. 17:31 That's a fact. 17:32 Number two, Medo-Persia. 17:35 That's a fact. Don't argue about it. 17:37 Number three, Greece. 17:40 That's a fact. 17:41 Number four, Rome. 17:44 Don't talk to me about faith. 17:46 And then after Rome came Europe. 17:50 And they were the ten horns on the Roman beast. 17:54 And then after Europe, 17:56 you have the religious kingdom 18:02 that everybody knows about. 18:05 Everybody knows about it. 18:07 Now, if this is true, 18:14 then there is a God. 18:16 I'm going to read you a statement here. 18:21 This is pretty heavy stuff. 18:25 I'm going to quote 18:28 an old historian, 18:31 Dr. Grattan Guinness, 18:33 wish I had name like that. 18:36 He says, 18:38 he wrote in the 19th century, 18:40 "Even the Romanists themselves shame you 18:43 in their clear-sighted comprehension 18:44 of the issues of his question. 18:46 Cardinal Manning says, 18:48 'The Catholic Church is either the masterpiece of Satan 18:51 or the kingdom of the Son of God.' 18:55 You shrink from it, do you? I accept it. 18:58 Conscience constraints me. History compels me. 19:01 The past, the awful past rises before me. 19:05 I see The Great Apostasy, 19:08 I see the desolation of Christendom, 19:11 I see the smoking ruins, 19:13 I see the reign of monsters." 19:17 You say, "Well, nobody talks it." 19:18 No, of course not. 19:21 Because political correctness 19:23 and religious bigotry has us by our throats. 19:27 Let me tell you this. 19:29 Look at me. 19:30 God has got His people in every church. 19:34 He's got millions in the great Roman Catholic Church. 19:37 My father was a Roman Catholic. 19:40 He's got them in the Protestant churches. 19:42 God has got His people everywhere, 19:44 but we are not talking about people, 19:47 we're talking about a system 19:51 that deceived the world 19:53 and maybe you too. 19:56 Let me read on what Dr. Guinness says. 20:01 "I hear their insufferable blasphemies, 20:03 I see their abominable lives. 20:07 I see them worship by blinded generations, 20:09 bestowing hollow benedictions, 20:11 bartering, lying indulgences, 20:14 creating a paganized Christianity." 20:17 If you doubt this, 20:19 if you got the stomach for it, 20:21 go and look at the movie, 20:23 The Borgias. 20:25 It was running, you can see it. 20:26 You don't need to go to a theatre 20:28 but you can go on Netflix or something, 20:30 look at The Borgias. 20:32 Don't look at it too much. 20:34 It's so corrupt. 20:37 So filthy. 20:40 It's about the Church of the Dark Ages, 20:44 a fulfillment of Bible prophecy. 20:48 "I see the racks, the dungeons, the stakes, 20:51 I see that inhuman Inquisition, those fires of Smithfield 20:55 that Spanish armada. 20:59 I see it all, 21:01 and in the name of the ruin it has wrought in the church 21:03 and in the world, 21:05 in the name of the truth, it has denied, 21:08 the temple, it has defiled, 21:10 the God it has blasphemed, 21:12 the souls it has destroyed. 21:16 In the name of the millions, it has deluded, 21:18 the millions it has slaughtered, 21:24 with noble reformers, 21:25 with innumerable martyrs, 21:28 with the saints of ages, 21:30 I denounce it as the masterpiece of Satan, 21:33 as the body and soul 21:36 and essence of antichrist." 21:40 This man was not a member of my church. 21:46 He was an historian. 21:49 And he dealt in facts. 21:53 Now if all this is true, 21:56 if it is true, you've got facts here today, 21:59 that I hope it disturbed you. 22:02 If it is true, we come back to the three questions. 22:05 Where did I come from? 22:07 I came from God because the Bible is true. 22:09 Why am I here? I'm here for a purpose. 22:12 God has got something for me to do. 22:15 I know why I'm here and I know where I'm going, 22:19 is heaven at last. 22:20 Poor Richard Dawkins says this and I'm not critical of him. 22:23 He says, when he dies, 22:25 he's going to stand on the deck of the sinking ship 22:29 and salute to nowhere. 22:32 Here I go, doesn't say God help me 22:34 because there's no God. 22:36 He's simply a product of time plus matter plus chance. 22:40 I say, bought a lot of ballyhoo. 22:46 I know, 22:48 prophecy demonstrates that the Bible is true. 22:51 That's why I have had so much success 22:55 in talking to atheists. 22:57 There's an Oxford scholar who said, we came from nothing. 23:00 That's nonsense. 23:01 Come on. 23:03 Get over it. 23:04 In Kiev, 23:06 where we ran a tremendous campaign. 23:09 I was asked to be president at a march-past 23:12 of Ukrainian's officers and soldiers. 23:15 We baptized so many of them. 23:17 I stood on the dais. 23:19 They asked me to take the salute. 23:21 I said, "I don't think so. 23:26 I'm not a general." 23:29 But in that very place, 23:32 I'd welcomed into Christianity, 23:34 the former leader of the atheists, 23:37 like Richard Dawkins, he was a professor, 23:40 and he had a job 23:42 to teach these young men, 23:45 atheism, Marxism. 23:49 I had the privilege of baptizing him. 23:52 He gave me a silver cross that I keep in my drawer. 23:55 Silver cross. 23:57 He said, I was... 24:00 These guys, goose step, you know, 24:02 just like the Nazis used to goose step. 24:06 They don't call it goose stepping, 24:07 but that's how they march. 24:09 You got to have pretty strong legs. 24:11 I probably would last for one second. 24:15 He said to me, 24:16 "We have been taught atheism. 24:19 We were brainwashed." 24:20 He said, "We've got blood on our hands 24:23 from the people we killed." 24:25 Dostoyevsky, "If there is no God, 24:27 everything is possible. 24:29 Everything is permitted." 24:32 But he said, "Now at last, 24:35 I know where I came from." 24:37 This, this, follow my logic. 24:41 If this book is true, 24:43 and prophecy demonstrates it is, 24:47 then it tells me of a God who loves me, 24:52 and a God who gave His Son to die for me. 24:55 You see? 24:56 That God came down from glory, 25:00 and died on the cross for my sins. 25:03 What an idea. 25:05 And rose from the dead. 25:07 Not an idea, what a reality. 25:10 I believe it not because of faith, 25:11 but because it happened. 25:14 You see? 25:17 So if this is so I know where I came from, 25:18 I know why I am here. 25:21 There is a purpose in living. 25:23 Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life 25:27 and have it more abundantly." 25:30 Step out of the grave, start to live. 25:35 And I know where I'm going. 25:37 At the end of the road, 25:40 there's a bright, bright, shining light. 25:43 Therefore, 25:45 in view of this, 25:48 I say to you, 25:49 in the name of God, 25:53 believe in the God 25:55 who believes in you. 25:59 He believes in you. 26:02 He sees you. 26:03 He loves you. 26:06 Step out of the darkness 26:08 and step into the sunshine. 26:11 Believe in the God 26:14 who believes in you, 26:16 for Jesus sake. 26:18 Amen, 26:21 and amen. 26:31 Hello, friend. 26:33 I'm John Carter. 26:34 Behind me is the great city of Manila, 26:38 the capital of the Philippines. 26:40 Did you know, this is quite amazing. 26:42 There are more people living in this area 26:44 than in New York City. 26:46 And Christ died for these people. 26:49 We came here, 26:50 oh, long time ago back in 1984. 26:55 What's that, 34, 35 years ago, 26:58 and we came here with a team of young people 27:00 and we came to the PICC. 27:03 It is our intent to come here, 27:06 hire the biggest hall that's available, 27:08 the greatest outdoor stadium, whatever it takes. 27:12 You've got more than 20 million souls out here. 27:17 And I say it again. 27:19 These are people for whom Christ died. 27:21 I'm asking you to pray 27:23 for the people of the Philippines. 27:25 Please pray for the people here in Metro Manila. 27:29 And please write to me John Carter, 27:31 P.O.
