I'm John Carter. 00:38 Welcome to this very special edition 00:41 of the Carter Report. 00:43 This is a once in a lifetime presentation. 00:46 We're talking about 00:47 this existential threat to humanity, 00:51 COVID-19, the coronavirus. 00:54 President Trump has called it the Chinese virus, 00:58 and he has some truth in this, 00:59 of course, because it came from Wuhan. 01:03 It's an animal virus that has jumped over into people. 01:08 It's been brought to America. 01:10 It's been brought to the world, and hundreds of thousands 01:14 are catching it, and many thousands are dying. 01:19 Now before we get into the heart of this, 01:23 I wanna start this meeting with a prayer for you. 01:27 I want to pray for you. 01:29 I wanna pray for your loved ones. 01:31 But I've been telling folks, 01:33 I'm tremendously concerned for the doctors and the nurses, 01:38 for the medical people on the frontlines, 01:40 who apparently are working under very extreme conditions. 01:47 This is a time of great peril, 01:48 also for the police and the military. 01:52 We need to pray for these people. 01:54 And in the last 24 hours, 01:55 people have been sending me names of doctors and nurses. 02:00 And we're going to start by praying for them today. 02:03 I want you to pray. 02:04 I want you to join me in prayer please. 02:06 I'm asking for your prayers. 02:09 For our daughter Julie Carter Haring 02:12 who is right on the frontlines in San Francisco 02:16 in the intensive care ward with COVID-19 patients, 02:21 her husband, Keith Haring in the same hospital, 02:24 he's an anesthesiologist. 02:26 And these names have come in the last about 24 hours. 02:30 Dr. Victor Coba, ICU COVID-19, 02:33 Michigan, Greg Hammond, 02:36 doctor, son of Sue and John Hammond, 02:40 my dear friends in Australia, 02:42 Dr. Erik Kerekes, Long Beach, California, 02:45 Dr. D. Burgos, Dallas, Dr. Robert Burgos, 02:49 Burleson Hospital, I know the part of the world. 02:52 Valerie Cooper, 02:53 University California, LA, UCLA, 02:56 Dr. Javier Piraino in Philadelphia, 03:01 Dr. Angela Shedd and Dr. Justin Derek, 03:05 and a person who wants just to be 03:07 known as Texas Doctor, 03:10 Dr. Marc Judd here in Southern California, 03:14 Dr. Daphne Wong, in Las Vegas Medical Centre, 03:19 Ryan Nelson in Detroit, 03:21 helping treat 90 patients with only 40 ventilators. 03:25 Now there are thousands, tens of thousands 03:29 who are putting their lives on the line. 03:33 And today we're praying for them. 03:34 Please pray with me. 03:36 Oh, my Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, 03:40 we bring these names to You. 03:43 We pray for all of these people. 03:45 We pray for young Dr. Javier. 03:48 We pray for the Texas Doctor. 03:50 We pray for Julie, our daughter up there 03:53 in San Francisco who is under great difficulty, 03:59 under great pressure. 04:00 Help her. 04:01 Bless all the doctors, bless all the nurses. 04:04 We pray that You bless the police, 04:07 the military, 04:09 bless the leaders of this country 04:10 at this time. 04:12 Give them wisdom, oh, God, and give them courage. 04:16 We pray that You'll bless those who are suffering 04:19 from this terrible pestilence COVID-19. 04:24 We bring these people to You 04:25 today in the precious name of Jesus 04:28 and in the name of Jesus we say, 04:30 oh, God, preserve and protect 04:35 and save Your people. 04:37 And we say this prayer in the mighty 04:39 and the wonderful name of Jesus Christ, 04:43 our Lord and our Savior. 04:46 Amen and amen. 04:49 My friend, if you've got requests for prayers, 04:51 send them to me and I will deal with them 04:53 just as fast as I can. 04:55 How serious is COVID-19? What we know? 04:59 Now, I'm not an authority on this. 05:01 So I'm getting material from experts. 05:05 I got this from some source in Australia. 05:09 What we know? 05:11 This red blob, that's the COVID-19. 05:15 But you'll notice how bad it is, 05:17 down the bottom, you've got the seasonal flu, 05:20 and then you go further 05:22 and then you get into swine flu. 05:24 That's also a really bad thing. 05:26 But it's not as bad as the Spanish flu 05:29 or polio or SARS or Ebola, 05:31 or small pox or bird flu, or MERS. 05:36 It seems to be far more contagious 05:39 than the common cold. 05:44 The good news is that most people do recover. 05:49 And so even if you get it, my friend, 05:52 the chances are you're going to recover. 05:55 So don't give up your hope. 06:00 Now let's have a look for a moment 06:02 at the symptoms of coronavirus. 06:05 Well, it's headache, 06:08 you're sneezing, cough, 06:12 followed by shortness of breath, 06:14 breathing difficulties, not always, 06:17 and then could be kidney failure. 06:19 Many people, and the majority people 06:21 when they get it do not get bad symptoms at all, 06:24 80% of the people are not badly affected by this. 06:29 But nevertheless, for some people can be 06:31 very, very, very serious. 06:35 Especially, people 06:36 when they're getting old timers like me. 06:40 Did you know I'm now an old timer? 06:44 But I'm a feisty old timer. 06:47 Somebody said to me, TV director David said, 06:51 "Why don't you get a haircut? 06:52 Your hair's getting long. 06:53 You starting to look like a hippie." 06:55 Well, I said, "Where do you go to get your hair cut now?" 07:00 There are no people who will know hairdressers. 07:03 Nobody's cutting, none that I know. 07:05 So I said, "You wait for another month or two, 07:08 you won't recognize me. 07:10 I'm going to look like a genuine hippie." 07:13 But anyhow, I'm just glad that I got some hair left 07:16 so that I can talk about it, 07:18 would be a lot worse if I didn't have any hair left. 07:20 Now we're going to ask 07:22 and answer some questions, shall we? 07:25 Try to make this honest and simple. 07:26 Number one, 07:28 where did the coronavirus originate? 07:31 The answer, this is not anti-Chinese, 07:35 nothing like this. 07:36 We should not be anti-Chinese. God loves the Chinese people. 07:40 We've got Chinese and Asians who work for the Carter Report 07:43 and they're absolutely marvelous people. 07:47 But the fact of the matter where did it come from? 07:49 It came from China. 07:51 It came from the live animal markets 07:55 in Wuhan. 07:57 The Communist Chinese government 07:59 has been putting out the outrageous lie 08:01 that it came from the American army. 08:03 No, no, no. 08:05 That's just a blatant bid of communist propaganda. 08:10 It came from the live animal markets of Wuhan. 08:15 And I spoke about that 08:16 in the first section of this presentation. 08:19 Also, I've just discovered this in New York City, 08:23 900 Chinese from Wuhan 08:26 visited New York City every month. 08:31 For months. 08:34 Sydney's worse off, 2,200 have come from Wuhan 08:38 to Sydney every month. 08:40 And so this has happened around the world 08:42 and the thing has been flying on the wind. 08:46 People have been passing it on. 08:49 So where did it come from? 08:51 It originated in these markets 08:55 of wild animals in Wuhan. 08:57 That's a fact, not meant to be anti-Chinese. 09:02 How relevant is Leviticus Chapter 11? 09:06 Well, people say to me, "We don't want those all 09:08 silly old Jewish health laws. 09:10 We don't want any of that stuff." 09:12 Listen, the Creator knows a few things 09:14 that you don't know, brother. 09:16 He knows a few things. He knows everything. 09:20 And in Leviticus Chapter 11, God said, 09:22 "There are certain animals, 09:23 if you eat them, they're gonna hurt you." 09:27 I suggest you sit down some time, 09:30 and open your Bible 09:32 and read Leviticus Chapter 11. 09:37 These animals from Wuhan 09:41 brought the disease upon the world. 09:44 Now I want you to know this, God is our Creator. 09:46 He gave us His law to bless us and to save us from disease. 09:52 Would you please notice the words of Isaiah? 09:56 Australian say Isaiah. 09:58 We say... No, I don't know what I say. 10:01 Isaiah 48:17-19. 10:06 Gonna put up the text on the screen, 10:09 I want you to look at it, and let us sink down. 10:13 "Thus says the Lord," Yahweh, "your Redeemer, 10:16 the Holy One of Israel, 10:17 'I am Yahweh, your God, who teaches you to profit,'" 10:23 you want a profit? 10:24 "Who leads you by the way you should go. 10:26 Oh, that you would heeded My commandments! 10:30 Then your peace would have been like a river, 10:33 and your righteousness like waves of the sea. 10:37 Your descendants also would have been like the sand, 10:42 and the offspring of your body like the grains of sand. 10:46 His name would not have been cut off 10:48 nor destroyed from before Me.'" 10:51 The Bible says, if you wanna be happy, 10:55 if you wanna be healthy, the Bible says, 10:58 then keep the commandments of God, 11:01 including the great health laws of the Old Testament, 11:05 especially, Leviticus Chapter 11. 11:09 My friend, let's get smart. 11:12 Next question is, what is the mortality rate? 11:17 Now the good news is that the vast majority will recover. 11:23 Did you hear this? 11:25 The vast majority will recover. 11:29 But I've discovered today, 11:32 some of my research people who are trying to help me out, 11:36 tell me that the average around the world, 11:38 the mortality rate is 4.7%. 11:43 But in places like South Korea 11:45 where they've done a lot of testing, 11:48 and where they've done a lot of quarantining, 11:52 it's down to 0.7%. 11:56 That's less than 1%. 11:59 That's about... 12:02 That's seven times better than the worldwide average. 12:08 And so if you and I are smart, 12:11 by the grace of God, we can beat this thing. 12:15 By the grace of God, 12:16 this thing is not going to beat us. 12:19 Who is most at risk? 12:22 Now here's the next question. 12:25 Who is most at risk? 12:28 Old folks with pre-existing conditions. 12:33 Now I know that you folks think I'm just a boy. 12:38 But chronologically, 12:41 I'm what they a call in Australia, 12:43 an old timer. 12:45 He's been around for an old time. 12:49 And so the older you get, the bigger the mortality rate, 12:55 old things being equal. 12:58 But the reason so many old folks 13:00 are dying from it is 13:02 because of pre-existing conditions. 13:08 And so you can beat this thing even if you're an old timer. 13:11 I heard this week that somebody who was 100 years of age, 13:14 he got it and beat it. 13:17 So don't give up. 13:19 Question number five. I think it's number five. 13:22 What can we do to reduce our risk? 13:24 Now listen up, listen up, good. 13:27 Avoid crowds. Stay home. 13:30 I hear some folks in Southern California, 13:34 Florida, Texas, 13:36 they've gone out to the beaches in big crowds. 13:40 That's just plain dumb. 13:43 That's really, really stupid. 13:47 Because you may not die from it, 13:49 but you may be a spreader, 13:51 and you may go home and kill your parents. 13:54 And so, and they've been 13:56 doing this in Southern California, 13:58 they've been going to the beach. 13:59 So the government yesterday closed down 14:01 all the beaches. 14:02 Avoid crowds, stay home. 14:05 Wash your hands regularly. 14:08 Terribly important. 14:10 What stuck to Sanjay Gupta? 14:13 Is that his name, on CNN? 14:15 Showed people how to wash their hands. 14:16 Fancy, we've got to show people how to wash their hands, 14:19 wash their thumbs, watch their fingernails, 14:21 all that stuff. 14:22 Wash your hands. 14:24 Whenever you think you've touched something 14:25 that you shouldn't have touched, 14:27 just wash your hands. 14:30 You may have to do 20 times a day 14:31 but wash your hands. 14:35 Don't touch your face 14:37 unless your hands have been sanitized 14:39 because if you touch something... 14:41 If this has got the coronavirus on it, 14:43 and if I touch that, and if I touched my face, 14:46 I've transferred it to my face and that's how people get it. 14:49 Don't sneeze into the air. 14:54 One of my friends used to use expression 14:56 for crying out loud. 14:59 Can you believe it, after all we've heard, 15:01 there are people still getting around 15:02 and they're sneezing. 15:04 Got off a plane in Sydney, you won't believe it. 15:07 I went to the carousel to pick up my baggage. 15:11 There was a guy there with his wife 15:14 and sneezing everywhere. 15:17 Wonder, they didn't lock him up. 15:19 They should have. 15:20 And if anybody looked at him, they glared back. 15:23 I've got my rights. I can... 15:25 No, you don't have those rights at all. 15:28 Your liberty ends 15:29 where the end of my nose begins. 15:32 Do you hear this? 15:34 So don't be irresponsible, 15:36 and keep away and don't have anything 15:38 at all to do with people 15:42 who are acting foolishly. 15:46 Jesus said, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." 15:52 Your chief responsibility is to treat your neighbor 15:57 as you want to be treated. 16:02 Okay. 16:04 Don't sneeze into the air. 16:07 Now sneeze into your coat or something. 16:09 Or if you got a decent sized tissue, 16:14 be at peace. 16:16 Have faith. 16:18 Have people, I've got people who've been contacting me 16:20 and they're scared to death. 16:22 I say, "Where's your faith?" 16:24 "Oh, I've got faith but I'm scared." 16:27 Don't you believe in Jesus? 16:30 Don't you know that Jesus is Lord? 16:34 That means He's Lord over COVID-19. 16:37 He's Lord over everything and everybody. 16:42 And with Jesus in my heart, I will not be afraid. 16:47 I'll have peace. 16:49 Hey, next point, exercise outdoors. 16:53 And when you exercise outdoors, 16:55 have a healthy distance 16:56 between you and somebody else. 16:59 Keep at least six feet, two meters away from people. 17:02 Six feet, two meters. 17:04 Three meters is better. 17:06 Now do I practice what I preach? 17:08 Yes, I do. I'm staying home. 17:12 Every day Beverley and I go for a power walk. 17:17 I don't go huge distance. 17:19 I only go 3 miles and I do it in 45 minutes. 17:23 And then I come home and I've got an elliptical. 17:26 Mm. Mm. Mm. 17:28 And I use the elliptical for another 30 minutes. 17:33 Why? 17:36 Because I wanna be healthy. 17:37 This body is the temple of God. 17:41 One of the biggest breeders 17:43 of disease is a sedentary lifestyle, 17:46 where we sit around like couch potatoes, 17:49 and we eat garbage. 17:51 This is the next point, 17:52 number seven, eat healthy foods. 17:54 Some time back, I did some interviews 17:56 with Dr. John Westerdahl, 17:58 who was a World Health Authority. 18:00 Eat the good stuff. 18:03 Nature has given us the good stuff. 18:06 You can see it a bit of it on the screen. 18:09 Eat the good stuff. 18:13 You can write to me and get those DVDs on 18:15 Dr. John Westerdahl's materials. 18:19 His materials are very, very good indeed. 18:23 You and I can beat this thing, but by the grace of God, 18:26 we've got to start to cooperate with the Creator. 18:31 Some people say, "Oh, I just have faith 18:33 and I have faith 18:34 and nothing's gonna happen to me and..." 18:37 It happened to you or if you don't obey God, 18:40 and if you don't follow the health laws of the Bible. 18:44 And so think about these things we've been talking about. 18:47 Okay. 18:48 Social distancing, avoid crowds, stay at home, 18:51 wash your hands regularly, don't touch your face, 18:55 don't sneeze into the air. 18:56 Never, never. That's still such bad manners. 18:59 Be at peace, have faith, exercise outdoors, 19:03 stay a safe distance and eat healthy food. 19:06 And by the grace of God, with God's help, 19:08 we're gonna beat this thing. 19:11 Hear me? 19:13 So we do not fear 19:14 and shall not fear the coronavirus. 19:17 I wanna give you a few points. 19:18 Number one, why Christ is Lord of all? 19:22 You know the story of the storm on the lake, 19:24 everybody is terrified. 19:26 The disciples are saying, "Master, we're going to perish, 19:29 don't you care?" 19:30 Jesus gets up and He says to the tempest, 19:33 "Peace, be still." 19:35 There is a great calm. 19:37 Jesus is Lord over the tempest, aren't you glad? 19:41 Jesus is Lord over the coronavirus, 19:44 aren't you glad? 19:47 Jesus is Lord. 19:50 He's called Jesus Son of God, the Mighty God, 19:52 the Everlasting Father, Yahweh the Savior, 19:55 the Creator, the Lord of lords and the King of kings. 19:58 Hallelujah! Praise God. 19:59 Start to practice your faith, my friend. 20:02 Number two, death holds no fear 20:06 for the true follower of Jesus Christ. 20:09 Psalm 23:4, memorize it, get it into your heart. 20:14 Say it," Yea, though, 20:15 I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, 20:18 I will fear no evil. 20:21 For You are with me, 20:23 Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me." 20:25 I hung on to that 20:26 when I was in that terrible hospital 20:30 so many years ago in St. Petersburg. 20:33 The Lord is my shepherd. 20:36 He's gonna be with me. Believe, my friend, believe! 20:40 In Christ, we have everlasting life. 20:43 In Christ. 20:46 John 5:24, 28, 29. 20:50 "Most assuredly I say to you, 20:52 he who hears My word and believes in Him 20:56 who sent Me has everlasting life, 20:59 and shall not come into judgment, 21:01 but has passed from death into life, 21:04 do not marvel at this, 21:06 for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves 21:10 will hear His voice and come forth. 21:13 Those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, 21:15 and those who have done evil, 21:17 to the resurrection of condemnation." 21:19 There is coming a resurrection. 21:22 And even if you and I die of the coronavirus, 21:28 it is not a big deal. 21:31 Oh, you say it's a big deal to me. 21:33 But you better start to believe in the Bible 21:35 and believe in Christ, 21:37 because in Christ we have everlasting life. 21:41 Therefore, we're not gonna be scared of this thing. 21:44 I'm not gonna live my life in fear 21:47 because Jesus is Lord. 21:50 Number three, a quiet, abiding peace without fear 21:55 is the true Christian's state of mind. 21:58 Let that sink down into your mind. 22:00 If you're all anxious and afraid, 22:02 you need to question your faith. 22:04 Now look at this text here. 22:06 Psalm 46:1-2, 22:09 "God is our refuge and strength, 22:12 a very present help in trouble. 22:15 Therefore we will not fear, 22:17 even though the earth be removed, 22:21 and though the mountains be 22:22 carried into the midst of the sea." 22:27 Even though there are calamities, 22:29 we will not be afraid. 22:36 So a quiet, abiding peace 22:38 without fear is the true Christian's state of mind. 22:42 Number four, nothing can happen to me 22:45 for which God has not already provided. 22:50 Perhaps the greatest chapter 22:51 in the Bible is Romans Chapter 8. 22:54 I want you to look at some of those texts. 22:56 Romans Chapter 8, "We know that 22:59 all things work together 23:01 for good to those who love God, 23:02 who are the called according to His purpose." 23:05 God has got everything working together for good, 23:08 even in this calamity. 23:10 "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, 23:12 neither angels nor principalities nor powers, 23:16 nor things present nor things to come, 23:17 nor height nor depth, 23:19 nor anything else in all creation, 23:22 shall be able to separate us from the love of God 23:25 which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord." 23:28 COVID-19 shall not separate us 23:32 from the love of God. 23:35 I know it's perfectly natural and normal to feel 23:40 a sense of concern and anxiety, 23:43 but we will not fear it. 23:48 There's something else too, I've got to put in here. 23:52 We are living at the end times. 23:54 Look at Luke 21:11 and onwards. 23:56 We're just gonna pop these up on the screen. 23:59 I want you to look at these. 24:00 "There will be great earthquakes 24:02 in various places, and famines and pestilences. 24:05 There will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. 24:08 There will be signs in the sun, in the moon and in the stars, 24:11 and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, 24:14 the sea and the waves roaring, 24:17 men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation 24:21 of those things which are coming on the earth, 24:24 for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. 24:28 Then they will see the Son of Man 24:30 coming in the clouds with power and great glory. 24:34 Now when these things begin to happen, 24:35 look up and lift up your heads, 24:37 because your redemption draws near.'" 24:39 The Bible says, when these things happen, 24:43 look up, lift up your heads because Jesus is coming. 24:49 Therefore, my friend, 24:51 the bad news is the good news 24:57 because Jesus is coming. 25:01 And soon and very, very soon 25:05 we're going to see the King. 25:08 What do you say about that?
