00:01 The COVID-19 pandemic
00:02 stopped the return to Manila programs, 00:05 but the teachings of John Carter continue. 00:08 From his Los Angeles studio, 00:10 John Carter takes on the important message 00:12 of the Antichrist in action. 00:14 What must we understand 00:16 about the Antichrist in today's new world? 00:19 Here is John Carter. 00:22 Hi, friend. I'm John Carter, welcome today. 00:26 One of the fastest growing religious movements 00:29 in the world today is atheism. 00:33 It is a religious movement. 00:36 It's represented by the great professor 00:38 from Oxford University, Professor Richard Dawkins, 00:42 who wrote the book The God Delusion. 00:47 I know a little bit about atheism 00:50 because I've been to Russia 00:51 in the days of the Soviet Union. 00:54 I've been to Russia and Ukraine 50 times 00:59 and while I was there, 01:00 I spoke to tens of thousands of communists and atheists. 01:07 In Ukraine, 01:08 I spoke to a famous professor who came to my meetings, 01:13 who used to indoctrinate the young people in the army, 01:17 in the tenants of atheism. 01:20 Now today, I want to say to my atheistic friends, 01:25 would you please, please give me a hearing? 01:31 Because I want to present you today 01:34 some amazing facts. 01:39 Now I believe in science, absolutely. 01:43 But I also believe 01:46 in the facts of history 01:49 that is also a type of science. 01:54 I want to say thank you so much for joining me today, 01:56 especially our viewers on Roku, Amazon Fire, 02:01 and the other great networks around the world. 02:04 So thank you for joining us today. 02:08 Today, I'm going to talk 02:10 about the great prophecy of the Old Testament, 02:13 written 2,500 years ago 02:16 in the great city of Babylon. 02:20 Listen very, very carefully to me 02:24 because this is really 02:25 a truly remarkable statement. 02:31 Here it is. 02:32 I want you to think about this, 02:34 and then you'll see 02:35 where I'm going in the talk today. 02:38 If... 02:40 And that's a big if, I give it to you. 02:42 "If genuine prophecy exists, 02:45 then the main issues of life are met." 02:51 Now the Bible claims to have genuine prophecy. 02:55 And I put it to you, my friends, 02:58 that if genuine prophecy really does exist, 03:03 then the main issues of life are met. 03:07 Because if there is genuine prophecy, 03:10 then really, 03:11 there's got to be the supernatural, 03:13 there's got to be God. 03:18 Let me make this plain. 03:20 I believe in evidence. 03:23 I don't believe in faith in faith, 03:26 I believe in faith in the evidence. 03:30 And today, 03:31 I want you to consider with me the evidence. 03:36 Now please remember the big questions 03:38 we are going to try to answer today 03:42 if we're going to have meaningful lives. 03:45 Number one, who am I? 03:48 I've had hundreds of thousands Russians 03:50 back in the days of the Soviet Union. 03:52 When it was collapsing, asked me, "Who am I? 03:56 Am I a cosmic accident? 03:59 Am I an animal? Am I a machine?" 04:02 I would tell vast crowds of people 04:05 and the professors from Moscow University, 04:08 you are not an animal, 04:09 you are not a machine, you are a child of God. 04:14 "Where did I come from? 04:16 Am I a son of the slime? 04:19 Did I come through the apes? 04:22 Or am I son of God?" 04:27 Also, think about this, "Why am I here? 04:31 Am I here simply to sack the orange dry? 04:37 Where am I going? 04:39 Is death the end of existence? 04:43 Or is there something after death?" 04:47 But listen, 04:49 but if there is genuine prophecy 04:51 if there is, I put it to you today. 04:54 I put it to Richard Dawkins 04:55 and all the rest of the great atheists, 04:57 if there is genuine prophecy, 05:00 then the main issues of life, 05:02 the main issues of our age are met. 05:07 And the Bible claims to be a book of genuine prophecy 05:11 but don't believe me today, 05:14 I want you simply to see with your own eyes 05:18 and to hear with your own ears and to get the evidence. 05:22 Now I'm going to take this very ancient book, 05:25 and I'm going to turn 05:27 to the Book of Isaiah 46:10. 05:33 And this goes back 05:35 over 2,500 years ago, 05:40 even more than that. 05:42 Isaiah 46:10. 05:47 And I want you please to listen if you don't mind to the words. 05:52 It says, "Declaring the end from the beginning, " 05:57 that's a bit astounding, isn't it? 05:59 The Bible claims to have the amazing ability 06:03 to tell the end from the beginning. 06:05 In other words, it says it can see into the future. 06:09 That's a great answer to atheism if it is so. 06:12 "And from ancient times things that are not yet done, 06:16 saying, 'My counsel shall stand, 06:20 and I will do all My pleasure.'" 06:24 The Bible claims 06:26 that there is a divine hand in history, 06:30 and the Bible claims to have the supernatural ability 06:34 to tell the end of from the beginning. 06:38 Come with me now 06:39 on an amazing search for truth and reality. 06:44 And I invite my atheistic friends 06:47 to come along with me. 06:49 Remember the statement, 06:51 "If genuine prophecy exists, 06:54 then the main issues of the age 06:57 and the main issues of life are met." 07:02 Because if there is, 07:03 I say, if, if there is genuine prophecy, 07:07 then there must be a supernatural. 07:11 And if there is a God, 07:12 I know where I came from, you're with me? 07:16 I know why I am here, and I know why I am going. 07:22 I am not then an animal or a machine. 07:29 Listen, one of the greatest prophecies 07:33 in the Bible comes from about 2,500 years ago. 07:39 It was written by a Jewish prophet 07:43 by the name of Daniel. 07:47 And he was living and serving as prime minister 07:51 in the great kingdom of Babylon. 07:54 It is a prophecy 07:56 Daniel 7:2-3 07:59 that describes the history of the world in advance. 08:05 You say, "I don't believe it." 08:06 Well, I don't expect you to believe it, 08:08 until you hear the evidence. 08:12 And this is the great prophecy that describes 08:15 not only the history of the world, 08:16 but it talks about 08:18 the great Antichrist of Bible prophecy 08:22 that actually was the main reason 08:24 that atheism arose in the world 08:27 because atheism arose 08:30 as a reaction against a terrible church, 08:36 a persecuting church, and a corrupt state. 08:42 And so that is why this prophecy talks 08:44 about the great counterfeit. 08:46 Now we're going to come over in the Book of Daniel. 08:50 This is an amazing book. 08:54 There's nothing quite like the Book of Daniel, 08:57 and I'm going to turn 08:59 in the Book of Daniel 7:2-3. 09:05 And these words are about 2,500 years old. 09:11 "Daniel spoke, saying, 09:13 'I saw in my vision by night, 09:17 behold, the four winds of heaven 09:19 were stirring up the Great Sea. 09:23 And four great beasts came up from the sea, 09:27 each different from the other.'" 09:31 What on earth does it mean? 09:35 Is Daniel is having this vision, 09:37 which he claimed came from God? 09:40 He sees the sea lashed into theory, 09:43 and then he sees four great beasts 09:48 coming up from the turbulent waters. 09:50 And finally, there arrives upon the scene, 09:55 the great nefarious Antichrist. 09:59 Listen, 10:01 'cause we got to lay down some ground rules, 10:04 you listening to me? 10:07 In the great prophecies, my friend, 10:11 God described the nations 10:13 as animals and as ravenous beasts. 10:19 In Daniel 7, 10:21 you have God's description of the nations in cartoon form. 10:26 We do the same today. 10:28 We talk about America as being the eagle, 10:34 and Great Britain the lion. 10:37 And so when you go to the prophecies of the Bible, 10:40 you find the God the Almighty Creator, 10:42 speaking through the prophet 10:44 describes the history of the world 10:47 in cartoon form. 10:50 I say now once again, so you don't forget it. 10:53 Who is this Daniel? 10:55 A Hebrew prince from Jerusalem, living in Babylon. 11:00 When did he live? 11:02 Lived about 2,500 years ago. 11:06 Now the question is, you've got these great beasts, 11:09 but what do these great beasts, 11:11 somebody tell me, what do they represent? 11:14 Daniel 7:17, gives us the interpretation. 11:20 Daniel 7:17, 11:24 "Those great beasts," have you got it? 11:27 "Those great beasts, which are four, are four kings, 11:32 which arise out of the earth." 11:35 The Bible is its own interpreter. 11:37 And the Bible says that these four great beasts 11:41 that we're going to talk about today 11:43 and that you can see on this great screen, 11:46 the lion, the bear, and also the leopard, 11:50 and then this terrible monster, 11:52 and then the 10 horns, 11:54 and finally, the rise of the Antichrist. 11:57 The Bible says 11:59 that these are symbolic of the powers of the world. 12:03 So the four beats... 12:05 This is history in advance, but you be the judge. 12:08 Don't believe it just because I'm saying it. 12:10 Daniel 7:4. 12:13 Here we go. 12:15 Beast number one. 12:17 Daniel 7:4, it says, 12:21 "The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings. 12:26 I watched till its wings were plucked off, 12:29 it was lifted up from the earth 12:31 and made to stand on two feet like a man, 12:33 and a man's heart was given to it." 12:36 The first beast in this great Bible prophecy 12:39 is the winged lion that you can see here. 12:44 And this great winged lion, what a beauty he is! 12:48 Goodness me. 12:50 What a beauty this lion is! 12:52 The Bible tells me very, very plainly, 12:55 this was the great kingdom of Babylon. 12:58 I can give you so much evidence 13:00 because this prophecy comes to us from Babylon. 13:05 The great kingdom of Babylon under Nebuchadnezzar 13:08 was the great power of its day. 13:11 It was like the United States of America, 13:14 feeling completely invincible, unchallenged, 13:17 and it ruled the world. 13:20 History tells me, now this is not theology. 13:23 People say, "You're talking religion." 13:26 I'm not talking religion. I'm talking history. 13:29 I'm talking the science of history. 13:32 And Babylon ruled the world from 605 to 538 BC. 13:39 Was it really a great kingdom? 13:41 Yes, it was. 13:43 How do I know? 13:44 I know from the science of history, 13:46 and I know because I have been there. 13:50 You've been there? Yeah. 13:51 How many times you've been there? 13:53 I've been there many, many times. 13:55 I've been to the famous Ishtar Gate, 13:58 which was named after the moon goddess. 14:01 I've been there. 14:02 I've taken a television crew to Babylon. 14:05 I went there in the days of Saddam, 14:08 got myself arrested by Saddam, placed under house arrest. 14:13 I've had some amazing experiences. 14:16 I've been to the old ruins of Babylon. 14:19 And I've seen the cuneiform writing 14:22 with my own eyes. 14:26 We're not talking here about theology. 14:29 We are not talking here about churchiness. 14:33 We are not talking here about religion. 14:36 We're talking here about history. 14:40 You hear what I'm saying? 14:43 This was the great city that was placed on review. 14:46 Hey, I want you to see this. 14:48 This is the Nabonidus inscription. 14:51 Oh, I don't have too much time to tell you about it. 14:54 But you see Skeptics said 14:55 that Belshazzar didn't exist 14:58 because all of the chronicles said 14:59 that Nabonidus was the last king of Babylon. 15:03 And then they discovered 15:04 this beautiful cuneiform inscription. 15:08 And it says Nabonidus, the father of Belshazzar. 15:15 I've been to these places over and over and over again, 15:18 and I can testify 15:20 concerning the historical accuracy 15:23 of the ancient scriptures. 15:27 So the Bible tells me 15:28 there was a great power by the name of Babylon 15:31 ruled the world from 605 to 538 BC, 15:36 and was likened in the Bible prophecy 15:38 to the winged lion. 15:40 That's the first beast of Daniel 7. 15:43 The second one, Daniel 7:5. 15:46 Are you folks listening to me? 15:48 Are you listening to this today? 15:50 Daniel 7:5, 15:52 "And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. 15:58 It was raised up on one of its sides. 16:02 It had three ribs in his mouth between its teeth. 16:07 And they said thus to it, 'Arise, devour much flesh.'" 16:13 After the lion came the rapacious bear. 16:19 History tells, and remember, 16:22 these beasts represent the kingdoms of the world, 16:27 and this is history in advance. 16:30 Because Babylon who thought themselves, 16:32 the Babylonians thought themselves 16:34 in indestructible. 16:36 They thought they were invincible. 16:38 Babylon was going to be overthrown 16:40 by the rapacious bear, 16:44 the three ribs, Babylon, Lydia, and Egypt. 16:48 And Medo-Persia came upon the world scene 16:52 led firstly by the great Cyrus the Great 16:55 and Babylon was overthrown, 16:57 look at this 538, and rule the world to 330 BC. 17:04 You say this is Theo. No, please! 17:07 This is not theology. 17:10 Talking now to people like Richard Dawkins. 17:14 I'm talking to our great audience 17:15 around the world. 17:17 How do I know it's true? 17:18 'Cause I've been there. 17:20 I'm not asking you to believe on the basis of blind faith. 17:24 Richard Dawkins says 17:26 that we people just don't have any evidence 17:29 that we simply have this thing that's called faith. 17:32 But he's got faith too 17:34 because he believes in what he thinks, you see. 17:36 That's what you call faith. 17:38 But I believe in a faith 17:40 that is based not upon my feelings 17:43 and not upon the teachings of some church. 17:45 I believe in a faith that is based upon evidence. 17:48 I've been to Persia. 17:50 We call it today Iran. 17:52 Been to Persepolis, 17:55 studied the ancient Persian kings. 17:58 This was one of the greatest empires 18:02 in the history of the world. 18:04 Firstly, it was Babylon that was the lion. 18:07 And after Babylon kingdom, 18:08 the kingdom of Medo-Persia likened in the scriptures 18:13 to the rapacious bear 18:15 that had three bleeding ribs in its mouth, 18:18 Babylon, Lydia, and Egypt. 18:21 I have seen these things with my own eyes. 18:25 I know it is the truth because seeing is believing. 18:32 I'm telling you today. 18:34 Now we come to Daniel 7:6. 18:37 Now we come to the next beast, 18:39 which would be the next Empire in the world. 18:43 "After this, I looked, and there was another, 18:48 like a leopard, 18:50 which had on its back four wings of a bird. 18:54 The beast also had four heads and dominion was given to it." 18:59 This is the next great kingdom 19:01 that comes upon the world scene. 19:04 Firstly, there was Babylon, the lion, 19:07 then there was Medo-Persia, the bear, 19:10 and then there came the next great world empire, 19:14 which was Greece 19:15 that initially was led by that mighty conquer 19:19 Alexander the Great. 19:21 And Greece ruled the world. 19:23 Now, are sure about this? 19:26 Of course, I'm sure about it. 19:28 How do I know 'cause I've been there, 19:30 'cause I've seen it. 19:33 This is not theology. 19:35 This is not what some church teaches. 19:36 No, no, no. 19:38 This is history. 19:39 And this was the power of Alexander the Great, 19:42 the power of Greece, 19:44 and the kings that came after Alexander the Great 19:48 that ruled the world 19:49 from about 330 19:52 until about 160 BC. 19:57 And if you go there today, if you go to Greece, 19:59 you will see the remnants of Alexander's kingdom. 20:04 It is true. 20:06 It is a fact. 20:08 If you go to Greece, 20:09 you'll see the remnants of the mighty Grecian Empire. 20:15 You will see the Parthenon 20:17 'cause the word Parthenon comes from the Greek word 20:21 ParthenĂ³nas 20:22 that refers to the virgin, the female, 20:26 and they worship the Queen of Heaven. 20:29 And the cult of the Queen of Heaven 20:31 later on, 20:32 was to come into the Christian Church. 20:35 It was not taught in the Bible, 20:37 but it came to us 20:39 from the Greeks and the Persians 20:41 and the Babylonians and the Egyptians. 20:44 But if you go to this part of the world, 20:47 you will see the remnants of one of the greatest empires 20:51 that has ever ruled the world. 20:53 And that is the empire 20:55 that is likened to the leopard with the four wings. 20:59 And people say to me, "What about these four wings?" 21:02 Well, the wings represent rapidity. 21:06 Alexander conquered the whole world 21:08 with great speed. 21:10 Nobody was quite like Alexander, 21:12 conquered the world in just a few years. 21:16 But everybody thinks 21:17 their kingdom is going to last, you know that. 21:21 And when Alexander was dying 21:23 and he died as just a young man. 21:25 His generals crowded around his bed and they said, 21:28 "Alexander, 21:30 who shall have the kingdom after you?" 21:34 Alexander said, "It shall go to the strongest." 21:40 And after a number of years, 21:43 his kingdom is divided 21:45 among his four warring generals. 21:49 Would you like to know their names? 21:51 Well, I can tell you their names. 21:53 Cassander, Lysimachus, Seleucus, and Ptolemy. 21:58 The question is, of course, I say to the skeptic, 22:01 "How did Daniel know all of this?" 22:03 You say it's just a case of interpretation. 22:06 Please, please, please. 22:07 It's not a case of interpretation. 22:09 It is a case of simply looking at the facts. 22:13 You have Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece. 22:18 But Greece also came to an end. 22:23 You see, God sees the end from the beginning. 22:27 Now it starts to get rather interesting. 22:31 Daniel 7:7, 22:37 written 2,500 years ago. 22:39 Listen to this, so your life depended on it, 22:42 brother, sister. 22:45 Daniel 7:7, "After this, I saw in the night visions, 22:50 and behold, a fourth beast, 22:53 dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. 22:56 It had huge iron teeth. 22:59 It was devouring, breaking in pieces, 23:02 and trampling the residue with its feet. 23:05 It was different from all the beasts 23:07 that were before it, and it had 10 horns." 23:13 Now the question is, 23:15 and I simply go to the historian, 23:19 after Babylon came Medo-Persia, then you have Greece, 23:23 and now we have this awful dragon beast. 23:27 And I've asked audiences around the world, 23:30 including hundreds of thousands of communists, 23:35 and atheists in Russia, 23:38 "What was the power that came after Greece 23:41 that conquered the whole wide world, 23:43 and that was likened to this great form of monster?" 23:48 And audiences around the world, 23:51 Atheists, Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, 23:58 and every other faith or no faith, 24:01 every audiences thundered back, and they've said to me, "Rome!" 24:08 The iron monarchy of Rome. 24:11 And of course, they right. 24:14 This was the great power of Caesar's 24:17 that came upon the world scene around 160 24:21 and ruled for about 300 AD. 24:26 Been there so many times. 24:27 I guess you've been there too. 24:29 So many of us have gone to Rome. 24:32 We have seen the remains of the mighty Roman Empire. 24:39 We've seen the works, 24:41 the tremendous works of the ancient Romans. 24:46 We have seen when we've gone there, 24:49 how this was the power 24:51 that actually destroyed the City of Jerusalem. 24:56 Did you know the destruction of Jerusalem 25:00 by the Romans 25:01 was actually predicted in the prophecies of the Bible? 25:05 You say, "I don't believe it." 25:07 Well, if I have time to show it to you, 25:10 I think you will believe it. 25:13 You see, I'm talking today 25:15 to atheists and believers and whoever, 25:20 I want you to know today 25:22 that we have reason to believe in God 25:26 because of the evidence that we find 25:29 in the prophecies of the Bible. 25:34 Now very soon... 25:36 We're going to have a little break 25:38 in a few moments, 25:40 and then we're going to come back, 25:43 and I'm going to talk a little bit more 25:44 about the Great Roman Empire. 25:46 And I'm going to talk about the power 25:48 that came after the Roman Empire, 25:51 which became the Antichrist. 25:53 And then I'm going to tell you 25:55 what Bible prophecy teaches about the next world ruler. 26:00 Don't go away. 26:02 I'll be back soon. 26:17 The Carter Report is now streaming 26:19 on demand for you. 26:21 Now you can have the teachings of John Carter anytime, 26:24 day or night. 26:26 By streaming the Carter Report, 26:29 there is more content for you to choose from. 26:31 And it's easy. 26:34 If you are new to streaming, 26:36 all you need to do is purchase a streaming device. 26:39 It doesn't really matter which one. 26:41 You can buy a Roku, Amazon Fire, 26:43 or Apple TV from any major retailer. 26:47 You or a family member 26:49 can plug the device into your TV 26:52 and sign in to your internet connection. 26:54 Do a search for the Carter Report 26:56 and download the app to your device. 26:59 From then on, 27:00 your device and the Carter Report App 27:02 can provide you with hundreds of on-demand programs. 27:06 You can also take the Carter Report with you 27:09 wherever you go. 27:10 The official free Carter Report mobile app 27:13 can be downloaded to your phone or tablet. 27:16 Go to the App Store or Google Play Store 27:19 and download the app. 27:21 Additionally, you can find Carter Report programs 27:24 on your favorite podcast. 27:26 You can also watch us on Vimeo or YouTube. 27:30 Type the Carter Report in the search box. 27:35 You can watch 27:36 hundreds of uninterrupted John Carter teachings 27:39 whenever you want, for as many hours as you want. 27:42 Travel with John Carter as he circles the globe 27:45 to bring the gospel to millions of people. 27:48 Watch the Carter Classics from over 50 years of ministry 27:52 and gain knowledge from stimulating interviews 27:54 with Christian leaders. 27:57 You now have multiple ways to watch the Carter Report. 28:00 And once you start streaming, 28:02 you'll find comfort in having these teachings 28:03 readily available to you, 28:05 whenever and wherever you want for free. 28:10 Welcome to the inspirational world 28:13 of John Carter. 28:18 For a copy of today's program, 28:21 please contact us 28:22 at PO BOX 1900 Thousand Oaks, California 91358. 28:28 Or in Australia, 28:30 contact us at PO Box 861, 28:33 Terrigal, New South Wales 2260. 28:38 This program is made possible 28:40 through the generous support of viewers like you. 28:42 We thank you for your continued support. 28:45 May God richly bless you. |
