00:02 I'm John Carter in Moscow.
00:04 In Havana, Cuba. 00:07 Now in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. 00:10 I'm John Carter in Petra. 00:13 Right here in Communist China. 00:16 Reporting from India. 00:18 Hi, I'm John Carter in the Solomon Islands. 00:21 I'm John Carter in Soweto. 00:24 From El Salvador. 00:26 I'm John Carter in Sydney, Australia. 00:29 Join us with questions and answers 00:32 with Pastor John Carter. 00:36 Hello, friend. 00:38 I'm John Carter in Los Angeles. 00:40 Welcome to this special Q&A session. 00:44 We're so glad that you joined us. 00:46 Now we're right in the midst of this dreadful pandemic. 00:51 And tens of thousands of people have died. 00:55 And right now there doesn't seem 00:56 to be any end to it. 00:59 And so we don't have a studio audience 01:01 and sitting down in the back today, 01:03 we have a famous voice in America, 01:08 Wayne Hackett. 01:09 Now you're not going to see Wayne on camera 01:11 because of social distancing. 01:14 We want to be very, very careful. 01:18 And we want to be very responsible citizens 01:21 and try to get a handle on this COVID-19. 01:26 Now from time to time, 01:27 people send us questions and all of the questions, 01:31 great questions. 01:34 Today, we're gonna deal with some of those questions. 01:36 We're gonna deal with questions that came in 01:38 some time ago. 01:40 And some questions that talk about things 01:43 that are happening today, 01:45 right here in Los Angeles 01:47 and in the United States of America. 01:49 You're going to enjoy this program. 01:52 And so my friend, 01:53 I'm John Carter and welcome today 01:57 to the Carter Report. 02:00 What do you think about Black Lives Matter? 02:03 Black Lives do matter, Wayne. 02:06 And there's a reason that Black Lives Matter, 02:08 there's a good reason. 02:11 They matter because every person 02:14 is a child of God. 02:17 When I read the Book of Beginnings, 02:20 the Book of Genesis, 02:22 I discovered there that man 02:24 was made in the very image of God. 02:28 And so a black life is made in the very image of God. 02:33 If you've got a problem with that, 02:35 it's because you've got a problem with God. 02:39 Somebody said this whole question 02:42 of racism is not so much a social problem, 02:47 it is a spiritual problem. 02:52 You see, the closer you come to God, 02:55 the closer you come 02:57 to your brothers and your sisters. 03:00 Yes, of course, I believe it with all my soul. 03:04 Black Lives do matter. 03:07 And this, of course, 03:08 was the teaching 03:10 of the great Martin Luther King. 03:14 Martin Luther King, 03:15 this mighty man of God who stood against injustice 03:20 and racism in America. 03:23 He taught the truth that every person is distinct 03:27 and glorious because every person 03:30 is made in the image of God. 03:33 Now when I was a little boy, 03:36 growing up in Australia, 03:40 I was taken along 03:41 to an old-fashioned camp meeting. 03:45 And there I met a mighty man of God. 03:47 He came from the Solomon Islands. 03:50 His name was Pastor Kata Ragaso. 03:55 He was beaten up by soldiers during the Second World War, 04:00 but he stood up for Christ. 04:02 They couldn't get him to go against his conscience. 04:06 When I met this man, 04:08 and when I looked into his face, 04:10 I looked into the face of a mighty man of God. 04:14 And he influenced my life 04:17 and he still influences my life today. 04:22 And there's a text I want to read to you 04:24 from the Holy Scriptures. 04:26 The Bible says in Acts 17:28, 04:31 "For in Him we live and move and have our being." 04:35 The Him, of course, is God. 04:37 "As also some of your own poets have said, 04:41 'For we are also,'" What does it say? 04:45 "His offspring." 04:48 We are the offspring of God. 04:52 And therefore, I say to you in the name of God, 04:57 Black Lives Matter. 04:59 Do you think America is a racist country? 05:03 Do I think America is a racist country? 05:08 Of course, there are some racists 05:11 in America. 05:13 Of course, there are some racists. 05:17 I've met some, but I'm gonna tell you folks something. 05:21 A country that is basically racist 05:25 would not have elected a black man 05:28 as the President 05:30 of the United States of America. 05:33 And I refer to Barack Obama. 05:37 And so I don't believe that America is basically 05:42 a racist country. 05:44 I believe America has made tremendous strides 05:47 as far as racism is concerned. 05:51 Do you think black people have been oppressed in America? 05:54 Well, my friend, Wayne, 05:58 what would you call slavery, Brother? 06:02 It's one of the greatest blights 06:04 upon the human race. 06:06 Yes, black people have been oppressed in America. 06:10 And now we are paying the price. 06:13 I was astounded. 06:15 The other day when I was checking up 06:17 on this subject to discover that around 06:20 the world today there are tens of millions 06:23 of people still in slavery. 06:28 Can you believe it? 06:30 And they're in slavery because people have not got 06:34 a relationship with God. 06:38 Because if you have a relationship with God, 06:41 you will believe that every person is a child of God. 06:45 I want to read you from the words of Christ. 06:49 Luke 4:18, Jesus said, 06:54 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me. 06:59 Because He has anointed me to preach the gospel, 07:03 the good news to the poor. 07:05 He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, 07:10 to reclaim liberty to the captives 07:13 and recovery of sight to the blind, 07:16 to set at liberty those who are oppressed." 07:21 And there's a little story I like to tell people. 07:26 The first person who released the slaves 07:31 in the United States of America was a Carter. 07:37 You would say, "You got to be kidding." 07:38 No, I'm not kidding. 07:40 His name was Robert Carter, 07:42 and he had a son by the name of John Carter. 07:48 Those folks were neighbors of George Washington 07:52 and some of the founding fathers 07:54 of the United States of America. 07:57 And as they studied the scriptures, 08:00 they came to the biblical conclusion 08:03 that every person is important 08:06 in the sight of God and Black Lives do matter. 08:11 As a Christian, 08:13 I believe that every person is a child of God. 08:19 Would you join the protesters in a march? 08:22 Would I join the protesters in a march? 08:27 Well, that depends why they're marching. 08:33 If they are marching for liberty and freedom, 08:38 and keeping the Lord of God, 08:42 if they're marching for the right to worship God 08:48 and also legitimate civil rights, 08:52 of course, I would. 08:57 Marching in America and demonstrating 09:00 for human rights and divine rights 09:05 is as much a part of America as apple pie. 09:11 If you're against peaceful protests, 09:14 you shouldn't live in America. 09:16 I would say to you try living in Russia. 09:20 And if you don't like Russia, try living in China, 09:24 which is oppressing a great group 09:28 of people and have them in concentration camps, 09:32 a million of them. 09:35 So this is the place if you believe in freedom. 09:39 Are you a Republican or a Democrat? 09:41 Oh! 09:43 Dearie me! 09:45 Am I a Republican or a Democrat? 09:48 Let me say this to you without offending you unduly, 09:53 I am an all-time Conservative. 09:57 I believe in conserving the great moral teachings 10:03 of the Bible that made America a great nation, 10:08 but I'm not a part of the Republican Party 10:12 and I'm not a part of the Democratic Party. 10:15 I'm not criticizing those people, 10:18 but I am an independent, an independent. 10:24 Pardon my saying this, 10:25 but I don't want some big organization 10:29 thinking for me. 10:31 By the grace of God I want to think for myself. 10:38 Fair enough? 10:40 What about looting? 10:42 What about looting? 10:45 Goodness, me? 10:47 So only one word for it. 10:48 Dreadful. 10:50 Absolutely dreadful. 10:53 Where are the police? 10:56 Does no one care about the mom and pop stores? 10:59 Looters ought to be locked up. 11:04 How does stealing and burning 11:07 resolve the issue of racism? 11:12 Now what did Martin Luther King say about looting? 11:16 He's one of my great heroes. 11:18 What did Martin Luther King, 11:20 what are the civil rights leaders 11:22 back in those days, say about looting? 11:25 They said it was evil. 11:29 And so don't try to cover up sin 11:31 by saying that people 11:33 somehow have got an excuse to loot. 11:38 Now there is a text here. 11:39 I want to read you. 2 Thessalonians 2:3. 11:44 I'm going to take my dear old Bible here, 11:46 and I'm gonna read this text out of Holy Word of God. 11:51 Give me a second. 11:52 I'm trying to find it. It's coming on. 11:55 2 Thessalonians, 11:57 here it is 2:3 says, 12:03 "Don't let anyone deceive you in any way." 12:07 Don't be taken in by frauds. 12:10 "For that day will not come." 12:11 The day of Christ's return, 12:13 "Will not come until the rebellion occurs 12:16 and a man of lawlessness is revealed, 12:21 the man doomed to destruction." 12:23 This is talking about the Antichrist. 12:25 And when the Bible talks about the Antichrist, 12:28 it calls him the man of lawlessness, 12:31 the man who is against the Word of God. 12:34 I want you to know that the spirit of lawlessness 12:36 that is sweeping the world today 12:39 and sweeping across America does not come from God. 12:44 It comes from a power that is from below. 12:50 I believe that a person who loves God 12:53 and loves his country will uphold lawlessness 12:58 and the breaking of the commandments of God 13:02 and he won't be a person, my friend, 13:04 who was involved in looting. 13:08 Would you defund the police? 13:12 Would I defund the police? 13:14 My friend asks me. 13:16 What I guess I would 13:18 if I was in charge of the looting. 13:22 I think it's a crazy. 13:24 Pardon my saying. 13:25 I know some folks who are gonna get mad at me. 13:27 They're gonna say, 13:28 "You are politically incorrect." 13:32 Well, let me be politically incorrect 13:34 and let me be glad 13:36 to be politically incorrect on this one. 13:40 I'm going to read you text in the Bible 13:43 in Matthew 24:21, 22. 13:47 And you'll wonder why I'm reading this text, 13:49 but I'm going to try to explain it to you 13:52 and then we're going to see it together. 13:54 Matthew 24:21, 22. 14:01 And this describes the days before the destruction 14:06 of the great city of Jerusalem 14:08 which was destroyed by the Romans, 14:10 as you know, in AD 70. 14:15 Here it is. 14:16 Matthew 24:21, 22, 14:20 "For then shall be great tribulation." 14:23 This is a great time of trouble. 14:25 "Such as has not been since the beginning 14:28 of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be." 14:32 Again. 14:34 "And unless those days were shortened, 14:36 no flesh would be saved, but for the elect's sake," 14:40 For God's people's sake, "those days will be shortened." 14:44 Now listen to me carefully. 14:45 I want to explain this to you. 14:48 What happened back there before the destruction 14:50 of Jerusalem, friend of mine, 14:52 was a type what's going to happen 14:54 before the end of the world, before Jesus comes? 14:58 And the Bible spoke about it. 15:00 A great time of trouble, a great tribulation, 15:03 a great time of lawlessness. 15:07 And Jerusalem became filled with lawlessness and looting 15:13 and killing and burning and raping 15:18 and taking people's lives. 15:23 What happened back there? 15:24 The Bible says is a type, you're listening to me? 15:29 It is a type. 15:33 It is a shadow of what is going to happen in this world 15:38 before Jesus Christ returns. 15:42 The world is going to see a time of lawlessness 15:45 and anarchy. 15:47 And I believe this time is starting now. 15:50 You listening to me? 15:52 And so I believe anything that brings upon a state 15:56 of lawlessness is not from God 15:59 but is from an evil spirit. 16:04 We should not have any part to do with lawlessness. 16:11 Is there police brutality? 16:13 Is there police brutality? 16:16 Well, I guess there is some. 16:20 Think about the cruel murder of Mr. George Floyd. 16:24 It makes your blood run cold. 16:28 And so, you know, everybody recognizes 16:30 that there has been some police brutality. 16:37 Are most police officers violent? 16:41 Are most police officers violent? 16:45 I don't think so. 16:47 I think most police officers pretty decent sort of people. 16:55 We need the police. 16:58 It's absolutely insane to get rid of a policemen. 17:02 You know who are going to suffer the most, don't you? 17:06 Now this is being kept 17:09 from a lot of the American people. 17:12 But I'm going to tell you something. 17:14 When you get rid of the police, my brother, my sister, 17:18 the minorities are going to suffer the most. 17:21 The poor people, 17:23 the minorities in the worst parts of town, 17:27 they're going to suffer the most and they're going 17:29 to have the greatest bloodshed if you get rid of the police. 17:38 We can't do this. 17:42 I belong to a Bible study group here. 17:46 And one of the members of that group 17:48 who sometimes leads the Bible study group 17:51 is a policeman by the name of Vern. 17:56 He's been on our television program. 17:58 He's one of the nicest guys I've ever met. 18:02 And let me say this too because a lot of people 18:05 don't seem to get this. 18:08 This is a terrible lot of crime here 18:10 in the United States of America. 18:13 I'm not gonna go into that. 18:14 There are reasons we have this terrible crime. 18:17 One of the reasons is the collapse 18:19 of the American family unit. 18:22 Fathers are needed, mothers are needed. 18:24 Kids need a mom and dad. 18:27 But in Los Angeles alone, 18:29 you've got more than 100,000 gang members, 18:33 a 100,000. 18:34 So we gonna get rid of the cops? 18:38 Gonna get rid of the Cops in Chicago? 18:40 If you want to have a bloodbath, my friend, 18:43 get rid of the cops. 18:44 Let us stop the police brutality 18:46 by all means, but we need the police. 18:51 What about the gassing of peaceful protesters? 18:56 Wayne, it's really Un-American. 19:00 And it's very bad. 19:01 It really is. 19:04 I did some study on this, 19:05 I was shocked to discover that 19:07 some of the toxic gases they're using are banned 19:10 by the Geneva Conventions talking about warfare, 19:16 but fancy using these toxic chemicals 19:19 upon peaceful demonstrators. 19:23 It's totally Un-American. 19:26 Now I believe this, and I don't... 19:28 You know, I guess after I've answered 19:30 all these questions, 19:31 I'm gonna have a lot of people mad with me from both sides. 19:34 All I say to you is think it through, 19:37 please think it through. 19:38 Let's be balanced. 19:40 There needs to be a big reformation 19:43 of our policing system. 19:47 Watching police chiefs take a knee and praying 19:51 with demonstrators in my humble opinion 19:54 is beautiful, but we are not a police state. 20:00 And I'm totally on the side of peaceful protesters, 20:04 peaceful protesters should never be gassed. 20:09 Their protesting is a part of the American ideal 20:14 and tradition. 20:16 What is the real solution? 20:19 What is the real solution? 20:21 Well, not more speeches or tweets from politicians. 20:27 Goodness me! 20:30 After a bit you get sick of the stuff 20:33 that you've got to listen to. 20:36 The solution is not more tweeting and speeches 20:40 from politicians. 20:43 I'm tired of it, and I guess you are too. 20:48 Now here is the real solution if you want answers. 20:52 And this is a tough one. 20:53 Not everybody wants real answers. 20:56 A lot of people just want rhetoric and talk 20:58 and slogans and signs. 21:02 Listen to me. 21:05 Martin Luther King spoke about this. 21:08 Dr. Billy Graham spoke about this. 21:11 America needs a spiritual rebirth. 21:17 That's the only solution. 21:19 Anything else just fooling around, 21:22 messing around, wasting time, doing a lot of talking. 21:27 But America needs a spiritual rebirth. 21:30 And not only America, many other countries as well. 21:36 Now I think I'm gonna get a text here, 21:39 and I'm gonna read it to you. 21:41 And it's the text in the Old Testament. 21:43 And here it comes. 21:45 2 Chronicles. 21:46 You're ready for it? 21:48 Just listen to, listen, my friend. 21:50 Listen to the words of Scripture. 21:52 "If My people," Who's talking? 21:54 Well, God is talking, so listen. 21:56 "If My people who are called by My name 21:58 will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, 22:03 and turn from their wicked ways, 22:06 then I will hear from heaven, 22:08 and will forgive their sin and heal their land." 22:13 And the Bible says when bad things happen to us... 22:17 And we profess to be the people of God. 22:20 This country of America is the most religious place 22:23 and the face of the earth. 22:25 I've gone to lots and lots of countries. 22:27 I've been to Russia, Ukraine, China. 22:30 I've been to so many countries, 22:32 but there is no country like America 22:35 that is so religious. 22:37 It talks about the Declaration of Independence. 22:41 You know it. 22:43 It talks about the Creator has endowed us 22:45 with certain unalienable rights, 22:49 life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. 22:53 So America is based on the concept 22:56 that there is a Creator God. 22:58 And that it's based so on the concept that God 23:01 revealed His will through the Holy Scriptures. 23:06 A lot of folks don't know this, 23:07 but George Washington said this. 23:10 Washington said this, 23:12 "It's impossible to govern a nation without God, 23:16 and the Holy Bible." 23:20 But the trouble is in America 23:21 we've gotten away from the Holy Bible. 23:24 We talk about religion a lot, 23:26 but most of is just a lot of hot air. 23:29 And what is needed in this country 23:31 is a mighty turning to God. 23:35 We need God to somehow get hold of us and shake us. 23:42 I believe God is allowing this pandemic. 23:45 You say, no, no, no, God... 23:48 It's just about worse here than any other country 23:50 in the world. 23:52 Well over 100,000 people dead. 23:54 Well over, well over. 23:57 Dr. Fauci says it's gonna get worse unless 24:00 something dramatically happens. 24:03 I believe that God is sending us 24:05 these things to wake us up. 24:09 There needs to be a mighty turning to God. 24:13 There needs to be 24:14 a mighty confessing of our sins. 24:19 When you go and read the Holy Scriptures, 24:21 you read Genesis 3, 24:23 and it talks about how sin came into the world. 24:27 The human race chose to go against God, 24:31 and we've been going downhill ever since. 24:35 So Genesis 3 tells us how we lost our life. 24:39 And John 3 tells us how we got back again. 24:42 It talks about the coming of Christ 24:45 and Christ dying for our sins. 24:50 So what is needed? 24:52 We need a mighty, mighty repentance. 24:57 You know, back in the days of Abraham Lincoln, 25:00 they used to have days of prayer 25:02 and days of repentance. 25:06 We need to turn to God. 25:09 And we need to repent of our sins. 25:13 And we need to come to Christ. 25:17 And if we will do these things, I'm telling you, 25:20 brother and sister, 25:22 that God will hear our prayers and God 25:27 will heal our land, land. 25:30 This is the urgent cry for this tremendous hour. 25:37 And we've got lots of lots of questions. 25:39 I've just started. 25:41 We're going to have a pause and then I'm going to be back 25:44 with Wayne. 25:46 And we're going to have another session 25:47 with your questions, Q&A. 25:51 Stay with us. 25:53 We'll be back after this break. 26:10 The Carter Report is now streaming 26:12 on demand for you. 26:14 Now you can have the teachings of John Carter anytime, 26:18 day or night. 26:20 By streaming the Carter Report there is more content 26:23 for you to choose from. 26:25 And it's easy. 26:27 If you are new to streaming, 26:29 all you need to do is purchase a streaming device. 26:32 It doesn't really matter which one. 26:34 You can buy a Roku, Amazon Fire, 26:37 or Apple TV from any major retailer. 26:40 You or a family member can plug the device 26:44 into your TV and sign into your internet connection. 26:48 Do a search for the Carter Report 26:50 and download the app to your device. 26:52 From then on, 26:53 your device and the Carter Report app 26:56 can provide you with hundreds of on-demand programs. 27:00 You can also take the Carter Report 27:02 with you wherever you go. 27:04 The official free Carter Report mobile app 27:06 can be downloaded to your phone or tablet. 27:09 Go to the App Store or Google Play Store 27:12 and download the app. 27:14 Additionally, you can find Carter Report programs 27:17 on your favorite podcast. 27:20 You can also watch us on Vimeo or YouTube. 27:24 Type the Carter Report in the search box. 27:28 You can watch hundreds of uninterrupted 27:30 John Carter teachings 27:32 whenever you want, for as many hours as you want. 27:36 Travel with John Carter as he circles the globe 27:38 to bring the gospel to millions of people. 27:41 Watch the Carter Classics from over 50 years of ministry 27:45 and gain knowledge from stimulating interviews 27:47 with Christian leaders. 27:50 You now have multiple ways to watch the Carter Report. 27:53 And once you start streaming, 27:55 you'll find comfort in having 27:56 these teachings readily available to you 27:59 whenever and wherever you want for free. 28:03 Welcome to the inspirational world 28:06 of John Carter. 28:12 For a copy of today's program, 28:14 please contact us 28:15 at P.O.
