00:02 I'm John Carter in Moscow.
00:04 In Havana, Cuba. 00:07 Now in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. 00:10 I'm John Carter in Petra. 00:13 Right here in Communist China. 00:16 Reporting from India. 00:18 Hi, I'm John Carter in the Solomon Islands. 00:21 I'm John Carter in Soweto. 00:24 From El Salvador. 00:26 I'm John Carter in Sydney, Australia. 00:30 Now, here's John Carter with today's message. 00:36 Hello, friend. 00:38 I'm John Carter, 00:40 here in Los Angeles 00:41 of the United States of America. 00:43 I'm glad to see you. 00:47 We've been locked up basically here for five months, 00:50 almost five months. 00:54 COVID-19 is not getting 00:56 better in the United States of America. 00:59 It's getting worse. 01:01 Right now more than 150,000 Americans are dead 01:07 because of the pandemic. 01:09 And there's no end in sight. 01:12 Unless by the grace of God, somehow, we can get a vaccine. 01:18 I want to send special greetings today 01:20 to our friends in the great land of India, 01:23 to Sam and his family. 01:25 I just want to say we're praying for you 01:27 during these difficult times of COVID-19. 01:31 In India, where tens of thousands of people are dying. 01:36 We send our greetings also to our friends down under, 01:39 in the land of Australia, 01:41 to our great friends and our great supporters, 01:44 and our special friends across the great land 01:48 of the United States of America. 01:50 We stand together during this pandemic, 01:54 and by the grace of God, 01:59 we shall overcome and we shall prevail. 02:03 We are not afraid. 02:08 And so from our studio, 02:10 our empty studio in Los Angeles, 02:14 we send greetings to you today. 02:18 In Los Angeles, the situation is so grim, 02:22 that they're running out of doctors and nurses, 02:25 can you believe that? 02:27 And so they're calling 02:28 for the army to bring in doctors 02:31 and nurses to stand 02:33 with the civilian doctors and nurses. 02:37 They're also using 02:39 special refrigerated trucks 02:43 for the dead bodies. 02:46 And so, today, the world is facing a tremendous crisis. 02:51 And no nation is more affected than the land 02:56 of the United States of America. 03:00 Today I'm going to give you 03:01 some of my meditations and cogitations 03:06 while we have been in lockdown 03:09 for the best part of five months, 03:12 meditations, cogitations, 03:15 and maybe a few agitations. 03:19 We're going to start this meeting today 03:22 by reading from the Holy Scriptures. 03:25 And I'm going to turn to the Book of Psalms. 03:30 And I'm going to read Psalm 23, 03:35 dear hearts and general people, 03:38 going to take it 03:39 right out of the Holy Book of God. 03:43 I want you to join me in the reading of scripture. 03:48 Psalm 23. 03:51 "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. 03:56 He makes me lie down in green pastures." 04:00 It's good, isn't it? 04:03 "He leads me beside the still waters. 04:08 He restores my soul, 04:11 He leads me in the paths of righteousness, 04:14 for His name's sake. 04:16 Yea, though I walk through 04:17 the valley of the shadow of death, 04:21 I will fear no evil, for You are with me. 04:27 Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 04:30 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies, 04:34 You anoint my head with oil, 04:38 my cup runs over." 04:40 It overflows. This is great stuff. 04:43 "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me 04:46 all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house 04:50 of the Lord forever." 04:52 Can anybody say amen? 04:56 I was in Russia number of years ago 04:59 in the great city of St. Petersburg. 05:02 We'd been running a campaign 05:04 in the largest auditorium in that part of the world. 05:07 And the intensity of the campaign was so severe. 05:12 After preaching to vast numbers of Russians 05:16 and the intelligentsia of Russia, 05:20 the professors from the universities, 05:23 that I became very sick, 05:25 and I was put in a Russian ambulance 05:30 in those days. 05:31 That was a very, very, very scary experience. 05:37 I was taken off to this Russian hospital 05:41 and put to bed and my doctor 05:44 was under the weather 05:47 because of too much vodka, if you get the point. 05:53 And that night, 05:55 I became so seriously ill 05:58 that I thought I was going to die. 06:02 And so I got my Bible, 06:05 I was strong enough to get my Bible, 06:08 and I read Psalm 23, 06:12 "Though I walk through the valley 06:13 of the shadow of death, 06:15 I will fear no evil if You are with me." 06:19 I want you to know today, 06:22 even when we are facing death, 06:25 that by the grace of God 06:28 we will fear no evil 06:32 because of the presence of God. 06:36 We will get through this with the help of God. 06:40 Let's talk a moment 06:42 about some of the grim statistics, 06:46 shall we? 06:48 This red line represents 06:51 the daily total of infections. 06:56 Back in June, the daily infection rate 07:00 was about 20,000 Americans a day. 07:06 But then during the month of July, 07:09 July, it is almost gone through the roof, 07:13 getting above 70,000 cases, 07:18 new infections every day, though the last few days, 07:21 thank God, it has dropped down to about 60,000. 07:27 But we're not through this. 07:29 We're not through this. 07:31 I want you to notice some other facts 07:34 as we put them up on the screen. 07:37 The United States of America, 07:39 and by the time you get this program 07:41 or many of you, 07:43 the figures I'm afraid are going to be higher. 07:46 But right now 151,470, 07:57 Americans are dead. 08:00 We are now number one in the world in death. 08:06 Brazil 87,000. 08:09 The UK 45,000, worse than America per capita. 08:15 Mexico 44,000, Italy 35. 08:18 India, where we have our work 08:21 and our prayers go out to Sam and his family, 08:25 and the people who watch our television programs 34,000, 08:30 and I think these figures are under the actual count. 08:34 France 30,000, Spain 28,000, 08:37 Peru 18,000, Iran 16,000 08:42 and possibly 10 times more. 08:47 So, we are in the midst 08:50 of a tremendous crisis. 08:54 We put the figures up again 08:56 so that our American friends 08:58 will get the reality of the situation, 09:02 Americans dead. 09:07 It's as though somebody dropped 09:09 a bomb on one of our cities. 09:13 Now, let me tell you this. 09:16 All health scientists 09:18 are united in their conclusions. 09:23 The pandemic is getting worse in the United States, 09:26 but many are in a psychological state of denial, 09:30 like the majority 09:32 of the British Members of Parliament 09:34 before the Second World War. 09:37 They thought Hitler was a reasonable good man 09:41 who was making Germany 09:44 into the most prosperous country in the world. 09:48 They believed that he was restoring traditional 09:51 German Christian values. 09:53 They refused to accept the facts. 09:56 Now let me say this, 09:58 there's a difference between facts and opinions. 10:01 Everyone can have his opinion whether it is right or wrong, 10:06 but everyone can't have his own facts. 10:09 It is a fact that the flag is red, white and blue. 10:13 Now somebody will say, but that's against my opinion. 10:16 Well, your opinion happens to be wrong. 10:20 People say, but every person's opinion 10:23 is of equal worth. 10:24 No, it's not. 10:26 No, not all opinions are of equal worth. 10:31 I do not believe in the organization 10:35 that believes that the earth is flat, do you? 10:39 You can say that is my opinion. 10:41 But, my friend, if your opinion is contradicted by the facts, 10:46 then your opinion is erroneous. 10:49 Now the fact of the matter 10:51 is that pandemic is getting worse. 10:54 Even the King of England, 10:56 King Edward called David by his family. 10:59 He was the guy who abdicated, 11:02 he was sympathetic to the Nazis, 11:04 can you believe it? 11:06 There's only one man 11:07 who saw the facts and sounded the warning. 11:11 And that man was 11:14 the old bulldog Winston Churchill. 11:18 He called him that bad man. 11:22 He was mocked and shouted down in Parliament. 11:25 Often good people are mocked and shouted down 11:30 by people whose opinions are not in harmony 11:33 with the facts. 11:35 Are you listening to me, my American friends? 11:38 Churchill eventually saved his country 11:40 and saved freedom around the world. 11:43 It is dangerous to remain in a state of denial. 11:46 And many of us here in America 11:49 and other places are in a state of denial. 11:54 Now Dr. Fauci served many presidents, 11:57 Republicans and Democrats. 11:59 I personally, don't care 12:00 whether he's a Republican or a Democrat, 12:02 I'm just interested in the facts. 12:05 And he calls our situation, the perfect storm 12:10 and the worst nightmare. 12:14 Americans dead. 12:18 It's as though they dropped a bomb on us. 12:22 But the crisis has now become politicized. 12:25 But the virus is not a member of any party. 12:27 Did you realize this? 12:29 It's not a part of a secret conspiracy 12:31 to undermine the government. 12:33 It's not Republican or Democratic. 12:36 I'm a pastor, not affiliated with any political party. 12:40 I'm a staunch believer 12:41 in old fashioned family values, 12:45 so help me God. 12:47 I believe in Christ in the Bible. 12:50 I believe in the home, father and mother and kids. 12:55 See some people say, 12:57 "Oh, you are politically incorrect?" 12:59 I say, "I don't care." 13:02 I want to be in harmony with God. 13:06 I believe that all men and women are created equal. 13:09 I believe in old fashioned values, 13:11 honesty, truthfulness, 13:14 decency, and hard work. 13:20 I believe in love and compassion, 13:22 I believe in truth. 13:24 So let's have a little bit of truth here today. 13:27 Let's have a little bit of truth 13:29 and if our opinions are wrong, let's change our opinions. 13:33 What do you say? 13:35 Where did COVID-19 come from? 13:37 Most likely from the wet markets 13:40 of Wuhan in China. 13:45 It has been called the China virus. 13:48 And while we're not using that term today, 13:51 that's where it came from, the wet markets of China. 13:56 The National Geographic said, "In markets animals are dying, 14:01 they are thirsty. 14:02 They are in rusty cages and totally dirty. 14:08 They may be missing limbs or have open wounds 14:12 from their capture in the wild, 14:15 or injuries sustained during transport." 14:18 And so these things are covered in blood, covered in feces. 14:23 It's disgusting. 14:28 And this is where most likely COVID-19 came from. 14:34 If people had been smart enough 14:38 to believe in Leviticus 11, 14:41 it talks about clean and unclean food, 14:43 we wouldn't have this demon from hell today. 14:47 Because Leviticus 11 says very plainly, 14:51 none of these creeping things, no snakes and other stuff. 14:57 People of course 14:59 were lot smarter than God, weren't they? 15:01 A lot smarter. 15:03 They said, "No, we're smarter, we know better." 15:05 Now some say, 15:07 "It came from a Wuhan laboratory." 15:09 I don't know. 15:11 They said, "Accidentally escaped." 15:13 I don't know. 15:14 But one thing it is now here, 15:18 and we are dealing with this cursed thing. 15:22 I want you to notice Psalm 46:1 and 2 and a few more texts, 15:26 I'm going to read you Psalm. 15:29 I'm a great believer in reading the Bible 15:31 because I believe it's the Word of God. 15:34 I am not too much into philosophy 15:36 or the teachings of man. 15:38 I'm very much into what the Bible teaches. 15:41 And that's how it is. 15:43 Psalm 46:1 and 2, I want to give it to you. 15:47 Here it is God, 15:48 "God is our refuge and strength, 15:50 a very present help in trouble. 15:52 Therefore we will not fear, 15:56 even though the earth be removed, 15:57 and though the mountains be carried 15:59 into the midst of the sea." 16:01 Even though hell breaks loose, 16:03 by the grace of God 16:05 I'm telling you something today, 16:06 we are not going to fear. 16:09 And verses, let me see it, verse 10 and 11, 16:13 verses 10 and 11. 16:16 "Be still, and know that I am God, 16:18 I will be exalted among the nations, 16:21 I will be exalted in the earth! 16:23 The Lord of hosts is with us, 16:25 the God of Jacob is our refuge." 16:28 What do you say about that? 16:32 I want to tell you something. 16:34 Even though we have terrible earthquakes, 16:36 even though we have terrible pandemics, 16:39 by the grace of God, we're not going to fear. 16:42 We're not going to fear 16:44 because we believe, we believe, we trust in God. 16:48 A lot of people find this pretty hard to believe, 16:50 you trust in God. 16:52 Absolutely. I trust in God. 16:55 I'd like to share with you 16:56 some great truths that have comforted me 16:59 and given me strength, Beverley strength also, 17:03 my family strength as we've been in quarantine. 17:07 And later on in this talk, I will tell you 17:10 how you can avoid this deadly disease. 17:13 I'll try not to be giving you opinions. 17:15 I'll try to give you the facts. 17:19 But firstly some meditations 17:21 and cogitations while locked up 17:25 and unable to go to Costco even though 17:28 it's open in other places. 17:31 Now I've had a haircut as you can see. 17:37 A lady who cuts my hair, 17:38 her name is Liz and Beverly said 17:40 she wanted to have a little work done on her hair. 17:43 And she said you better have 17:44 all that wool cut off your head. 17:47 And so Liz came 17:48 and we met together in the backyard 17:50 where we've got four squirrels and Liz went to work. 17:55 And after she'd shaven me like a sheep, Liz said, 17:58 "I will need to come back for a long time, will I?" 18:01 I said, "I guess not Liz." 18:05 I think as they said in the movie, 18:10 she done me in. 18:13 Okay, here are some of my meditations 18:15 and cogitations while we've been locked up. 18:18 Number one, 18:21 there are still a lot of really good, 18:24 decent people in the world. 18:26 You hear about bad things happening in America. 18:29 I want to tell my American friends 18:31 and my friends in Europe, 18:33 there are still so many marvelous 18:36 and wonderful people 18:38 in the United States of America. 18:41 Not all is doom and gloom. 18:43 Soon as we had to go into quarantine, 18:48 we had the young men from next door 18:50 always working on cars, young guys always working on 18:54 cars and trucks. 18:56 They're family of one, two, three, 18:58 a family of four I think they've got 13 vehicles. 19:04 Of course, this is Southern California, 19:07 where almost your birthright 19:09 is to have several, several vehicles. 19:12 They've got 13, what does that work out to? 19:14 Three per person? How do you? 19:16 How does one person drive three vehicles? 19:18 Well, that doesn't matter. 19:20 They came to the door and they said, 19:21 "We want you to know 19:23 if you need anything, we're here for you." 19:25 I put a tear in my eye. 19:27 I said, "You're not alone. 19:28 If you need anything, we care for you people." 19:31 They said, "We like you. 19:35 And we're here for you." 19:38 And then the city of Ventura called us. 19:43 See, we're right on the very edge 19:44 of Los Angeles, where like Greater Los Angeles. 19:48 City Ventura said, "Now we know that you folks 19:50 are not as young as you used to be." 19:52 I said, "Who is? 19:53 Nobody's as young as they used to be. 19:54 That's a silly thing." 19:56 He said, "Well, look, what, do you need some food?" 19:59 He said, "No, we're okay." 20:01 But sooner or later, 20:03 guy was knocking on the door with a mask. 20:05 He's smart. He's smart, had gloves. 20:09 And he said, "I'm a volunteer 20:11 from one of the local churches." 20:14 And he said, "This food is from Ventura County, 20:18 because we don't want you to be hungry," 20:20 and they gave us a ton of food. 20:21 We said, "Well, look, we'll take it this time, 20:23 and we're grateful. 20:25 But we don't need any more." 20:26 But they would come back every week. 20:28 We'd say, "Look, we're okay. 20:30 Take it to those who got greater needs than ours." 20:34 We're fine. Do you think would... 20:35 We're fine. I want you to know my friend. 20:40 There are still lots of marvelous, 20:41 marvelous people in the world. 20:44 Then I've got a friend by the name of Javier. 20:47 He is a great friend of mine. 20:50 He's a chef, 20:52 and he's been sending us the best beans and lentils, 20:56 he must think my name is Esau. 21:00 I had some of these lentils yesterday for lunch. 21:03 And they were so good, I had some for dinner. 21:06 Thank you, Javier. 21:09 Lots of good people in the world. 21:12 Now listen, just get this. 21:13 It's a fact. 21:15 I want you to think about doctors and nurses 21:17 who are putting their lives at risk. 21:19 Don't you put their lives at risk unnecessarily, 21:22 wear a mask. 21:24 I think some of our doctors and nurses, 21:26 some are now dying. 21:27 Some have died. 21:29 I think of the bus and train drivers. 21:31 The first responders. 21:33 I want to tell you, they're our heroes. 21:36 We had to fly over US 21:40 Air Force to salute our hospitals. 21:43 They came out via valley 21:45 dipping their wings flying over our hospitals. 21:48 We salute them today. 21:50 I want to say this to you, 21:53 the great heroes of the United States of America 21:59 and around the world are the doctors 22:03 and the nurses, and we salute them. 22:08 And I say to you, don't put their lives at risk, 22:11 wear a mask. 22:13 So I don't think all is doom and gloom. 22:15 I get sick of people 22:16 who're always telling me that everything's bad. 22:19 There are still a lot of brave kind, 22:21 good people in the world. 22:23 And for their sake, 22:25 and for the sake of our neighbors, 22:27 we must do everything to defeat the virus 22:30 that came from Wuhan in China. 22:32 Can you squeeze out an amen? 22:36 Come on now. 22:39 So I'm going to tell you 22:40 some things that are not my opinion. 22:42 Number one, wear a mask. 22:45 It's been proven scientifically 22:48 that you'll cut down your chance 22:51 of getting the virus 22:53 or spreading the virus by a factor of 5 by 500% 22:58 if you're smart enough to wear a mask. 23:01 Now, in the United States of America, 23:04 we have the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor, 23:08 hurrah, hurrah, hurrah, hurrah for the Statue of Liberty. 23:12 But we also need 23:13 in the United States of America, 23:15 the statue of responsibility, 23:19 because your freedom ends 23:24 where the end of my nose begins and vice versa. 23:31 Some people have got a really twisted notion 23:34 of what liberty is. 23:37 I do not have liberty 23:40 to put somebody's life at risk. 23:45 You say, "That's your opinion." 23:46 No, no, no, that's a fact. 23:47 That's a fact. 23:49 If you wear a mask, 23:51 you're going to be protecting your loved ones. 23:55 What about your parents? 23:57 What about your grandparents? 23:58 Young people, do you want to kill them? 24:02 Because their chances of dying from COVID-19 24:05 is a lot more than yours. 24:07 Practice social distancing. 24:11 Keep away, wash your hands. 24:15 Don't touch your face, don't congregate. 24:19 Now I've heard some Christians say this to me, 24:22 "Hey, God's going to protect us 24:23 because we're under the blood of Jesus." 24:25 Listen, my friend, please. 24:28 What happened to your theology? 24:30 The blood of Jesus forgives our sins. 24:35 It doesn't protect us from sickness or COVID-19. 24:39 You got to come. 24:41 Well, that's your opinion, but I want to go by the facts. 24:45 The blood of Jesus covers our sins. 24:50 That's why I haven't been to church 24:51 now for about four months. 24:54 As a pastor had these, 24:56 all these church people together, 24:58 not many 50 of them together. 25:00 Alabama I think it was, 25:01 40 of them now have got COVID-19. 25:06 Hey, let's get smart. 25:10 Let's get smart. 25:11 Let's act like Christians, love our neighbor as ourselves. 25:15 That's what Jesus said, 25:16 "Love your neighbor as yourself." 25:19 If you love your neighbor, you're going to wear a mask. 25:22 Eat well, and exercise out of doors every day 25:27 for the sake of others, 25:28 especially for the doctors 25:30 and the nurses and the first responders, 25:33 your parents and grandparents like me. 25:38 For love, for the love of God 25:45 and for the love of others. 25:47 Now I got so much good stuff, I've got, it's coming on. 25:52 It's coming on soon. 25:55 Cogitations, meditations 25:58 during COVID-19, locked up here, 26:02 empty studio, but preaching and teaching on. 26:06 I'll be back very soon, stay with me. 26:22 The Carter Report is now streaming on demand for you. 26:26 Now you can have the teachings of John Carter anytime, 26:30 day or night. 26:31 By streaming the Carter Report, 26:34 there is more content for you to choose from, and it's easy. 26:39 If you are new to streaming, all you need to do 26:42 is purchase a streaming device. 26:44 It doesn't really matter which one, you can buy a Roku, 26:47 Amazon Fire, or Apple TV from any major retailer. 26:52 You or a family member can plug the device 26:56 into your TV and sign in to your internet connection. 26:59 Do a search for the Carter Report 27:01 and download the app to your device. 27:04 From then on, your device 27:06 and the Carter Report app can provide you 27:08 with hundreds of on demand programs. 27:12 You can also take 27:13 the Carter Report with you wherever you go. 27:16 The official free Carter Report mobile app 27:18 can be downloaded to your phone or tablet. 27:21 Go to the App Store 27:23 or Google Play Store and download the app. 27:26 Additionally, you can find Carter Report programs 27:29 on your favorite podcast. 27:32 You can also watch us on Vimeo or YouTube. 27:36 Type the Carter Report in the search box. 27:40 You can watch hundreds 27:42 of uninterrupted John Carter teachings 27:44 whenever you want, for as many hours as you want. 27:48 Travel with John Carter as he circles the globe 27:50 to bring the gospel to millions of people. 27:53 Watch the Carter Classics from over 50 years of ministry 27:57 and gain knowledge 27:58 from stimulating interviews with Christian leaders. 28:02 You now have multiple ways to watch the Carter Report. 28:05 And once you start streaming, you'll find comfort 28:08 in having these teachings readily available to you 28:10 whenever and wherever you want for free. 28:15 Welcome to the inspirational world 28:18 of John Carter. 28:24 For a copy of today's program, 28:26 please contact us at P.O.
