00:04 In Havana, Cuba. 00:07 Now in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. 00:10 I'm John Carter in Petra. 00:13 Right here in Communist China. 00:16 Reporting from India. 00:18 Hi, I'm John Carter in the Solomon Islands. 00:21 I'm John Carter in Soweto. 00:24 From El Salvador. 00:26 I'm John in Sydney, Australia. 00:29 Today, John Carter will teach us 00:31 The Origin and End of Evil, 00:34 the Great Controversy between Christ and Satan. 00:39 Hi, friend, I'm John Carter. 00:42 Welcome back to the Carter Report. 00:43 This is part two of, The Origin and The End of Evil. 00:48 In the first segment, 00:50 we talked about a being 00:51 who is called in the Bible, the snake. 00:55 He was a slimy creature, 00:56 he brought sin and death and everything bad 01:00 into this world through our first parents. 01:04 He was the great, first you could say, egomaniac. 01:09 We read a text in the book of Isaiah, 01:11 and it's all about I, 01:12 this guy is saying, "I'm gonna do this, 01:14 I'm gonna do that I'm gonna be greater than God." 01:18 We notice that insane people 01:21 usually are obsessed with themselves. 01:26 The original super maniac, 01:29 the person so obsessed with himself, 01:33 suffering from a great spiritual sickness. 01:37 We call it the insanity of sin. 01:40 Are you listening? 01:42 This tide of the great rebellion 01:44 before humanity existed in a place far, 01:48 far away from Planet Earth. 01:51 It concerned the transformation 01:53 of an exalted shining angel to the snake. 01:59 To the serpent of death, 02:00 and he is the cause behind every heartache, 02:03 every death, every sorrow. 02:06 Now when this happened, 02:07 sin was a new, strange, insidious, 02:10 mysterious invader 02:12 into the happiness of the universe. 02:16 It was a new force, it was like a new virus. 02:20 A pandemic was about to start, nobody understood it. 02:23 Even the holy angels didn't get it. 02:26 Only God understood it. 02:30 We talked about this in the first segment 02:32 where this snake, this beautiful, 02:35 he didn't knock any of this on the screen. 02:37 But this, more like this. 02:41 A beautiful being came down to this earth, 02:44 and to deceive our parents and sin came into the world. 02:49 I'm gonna turn to a text now 02:50 over here in Ezekiel Chapter 28. 02:52 And it talks about the origin of evil. 02:54 Ezekiel Chapter 28. 02:56 We're gonna start with verse 12. 02:59 These are sort of amazing verses, 03:01 would you please notice them? 03:03 "Thus says the Lord God. Yahweh Elohim. 03:07 You were the seal of perfection, 03:09 full of wisdom, perfect in beauty. 03:13 You are an Eden the garden of God, 03:16 every precious stone was your covering. 03:19 You were the anointed cherub who covers." 03:22 So here is a beautiful angel super, super. 03:26 "I established you. 03:28 You are on the holy mountain of God. 03:29 You walk back and forth 03:31 in the midst of the fiery stones." 03:34 This is the being who became the snake. 03:37 "You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, 03:40 till iniquity was found in you. 03:42 Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty. 03:48 You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor." 03:53 And when you read this in Ezekiel Chapter 28, 03:56 it is talking about the king of Sidon. 03:59 That's sort of amazing. 04:01 Because behind the king of Sidon, 04:03 behind this powerful king, 04:05 there was a supernatural force. 04:10 Just as the snake is behind many rulers in the world today. 04:15 Rulers who are little dictators, 04:18 pumpers full of themselves, suffering from I trouble, 04:24 "I'm going to do this, I'm going to be first." 04:29 And so he was this being that came into the world 04:31 who was the originator of evil. 04:36 Once he was one of the heaven's stars, 04:39 but he wanted more. 04:40 He wanted to rule the universe and the universe's beyond. 04:47 He was powerful, persuasive, charming, super intelligent, 04:53 and he became the snake. 04:58 And he's called in scripted via special name, 05:02 he is not only called Lucifer but he is called, listen to it. 05:07 He is called The Serpent. 05:11 I want to come over here to Revelation Chapter 12. 05:16 I'm gonna turn to it in my Bible. 05:18 And if you've got a Bible, 05:19 you may want to go get it and follow the text. 05:21 Revelation 12:7-9, are you listening? 05:27 Just listen to this, this sort of amazing. 05:30 Revelation 12:7-9, 05:33 "War broke out in heaven. Michael," 05:36 that's Christ, 05:37 "and His angels, fought with the dragon." 05:40 He's no longer a beautiful looking creature. 05:42 Now he's the dragon, 05:44 "And the dragon and his angels fought. 05:47 But they did not prevail, 05:48 nor was their price found for them 05:50 any longer in heaven." 05:53 So they tossed out. 05:54 "So the great dragon," verse nine, 05:56 "The great dragon was cast that 05:57 that serpent of old, 06:00 called the Devil and Satan or Satan, 06:04 who deceives the whole world. 06:06 He was cast to the earth, 06:08 and his angels were cast out with him." 06:11 Almost too hard to believe. 06:12 But there came a tremendous war. 06:15 A tremendous war in the heavens. 06:18 On one side, there was the Almighty creator God. 06:22 And on the other side, 06:23 there was this superlative creature of excelling beauty 06:27 with a tremendous mind and tremendous intelligence. 06:32 The one who became the snake, 06:35 but he didn't start out as a snake. 06:38 He was full of charm. 06:41 And the charm was so amazing that one third of the... 06:47 This is talking about millions of super intelligent beings, 06:52 join forces with Satan, in their rebellion against God. 06:57 And that's why the world is in such a mess today. 07:01 And there's only one solution. 07:03 And that solution is Jesus Christ. 07:08 This being who became the snake had a big philosophy, 07:12 his philosophy was, "Me first." 07:18 All about self, 07:20 not about anybody, about me first. 07:23 "I'm going to become the greatest. 07:24 I'm going to exalt my throne above the stars of God. 07:27 I'm going to become like the Most High." 07:30 And this tremendous being with tremendous power, 07:34 and with such a tremendous personality, 07:38 he was cast down to this earth. 07:43 And this world became his home, 07:48 which tells you why there is sickness, 07:52 and death, and sorrow and pain, 07:56 and crime in the world. 07:58 But the Bible tells us that 08:00 the God the Creator loved us so much 08:03 that He came down to this earth 08:04 in the person of Jesus Christ 08:10 to defeat the serpent. 08:13 There are two opposing kingdoms in this world. 08:15 You and I are on one side or the other. 08:20 There is the kingdom of the Creator 08:22 and the kingdom of Satan. 08:23 Let's talk about the Creator, the kingdom of the Creator. 08:27 The greatest text, the most famous text in the Bible 08:30 is John 3:16. 08:35 It tells us almost everything we need to know. 08:37 Listen, "For God." 08:40 This is Yahweh Elohim, 08:42 the Almighty God who made the universe, 08:45 the Almighty God who made this beautiful angel 08:47 whose name was Lucifer. 08:49 This superlative creature of overwhelming intelligence 08:55 and power. 08:58 But the Bible tells us to meet the great issue 09:01 and the tremendous threat to the sea, 09:03 to the stability of the entire universe. 09:06 The Bible tells us that God Yahweh Elohim became a man. 09:11 The Bible says, 09:12 "For God so loved the world 09:13 that he gave His one and only Son," 09:15 that's Jesus, 09:17 "That whoever believes in Him 09:18 shall not perish but have eternal life." 09:21 The Bible says that God said, 09:23 "I love these people too much that I'm going to become a man. 09:27 And I'm going to come down 09:28 and die for the human race on the cross." 09:32 And so God showed the great, 09:34 the great and overwhelming power of love. 09:40 So what is God like? 09:42 You think of the nicest person you know, 09:43 and God is a billion times better than that. 09:47 In the kingdom of God, you got freedom. 09:50 People say, "Why does God allow all this to happen? 09:53 Why does God allow Satan to go on? 09:55 Why does God allow this world to have dictators? 09:58 Why does God allow little children to suffer?" 10:01 It's very, very easy because God has given us freedom, 10:04 freedom to choose. 10:07 God did not make us robots. 10:09 God could have made us robots, 10:11 but because God is a God of love, 10:13 he wants a service that comes from love. 10:16 Not because we're forced to serve Him. 10:20 So in the kingdom of God, we have freedom. 10:24 In the kingdom of God, we have obedience, 10:27 but it's not a forced obedience. 10:29 God wants us to obey Him 10:31 because we know it's the best thing to do. 10:33 It is a kingdom that is based upon that... 10:36 Listen to me, this is terrifically important. 10:38 The kingdom of God is based upon service to others. 10:43 Today, there's a phrase going around America 10:46 and other countries, Russia, China, "Me first." 10:51 China first, Russia first. 10:54 That is the very antithesis of the kingdom of God, 10:58 which is based upon loving everybody. 11:02 But Satan, my friend, was the snake first. 11:06 The snake first. 11:10 It's an amazing thing that in the universe, 11:12 we've discovered a principle, 11:14 which is called "The Anthropic Principle." 11:17 It means that everything that exists in the universe, 11:20 everything that exists in the universe, 11:22 gravity doesn't matter what it is. 11:24 Everything exists for our good. 11:28 Atheists have been amazed at this discovery, 11:30 "The Anthropic Principle," 11:32 but everything in the universe 11:34 is there because God loves us. 11:38 The kingdom of God is based upon love. 11:40 It is based upon truth. 11:43 Now listen to me and listen up and listen hard. 11:47 We live in a so-called post-truth era. 11:50 I hear this on television. 11:52 Oh, no. 11:53 You got your truth and I've got my truth. 11:56 That's a lot of nonsense. 11:59 That's the biggest lie you've ever heard. 12:02 There is no such thing as you having your truth 12:05 and this person having his truth 12:06 and me having my truth. 12:08 We can have our opinions, 12:09 but our opinions may simply be our subjective ideas. 12:15 But the kingdom of God is based upon truth. 12:22 Jesus said, "Don't forget it." 12:26 Jesus said, "You will know the truth. 12:29 And the truth will set you free." 12:34 A follower of Christ is not a liar. 12:37 You might say, "But it's okay to lie. 12:40 Everybody lies." 12:41 No, not everybody does lie. 12:43 Good people are not liars. 12:47 "I know you're being a fanatic. 12:48 Everybody lies. 12:50 Every politician lies. 12:52 Every person lies." 12:56 Well, the Bible tells me 12:57 liars are going to be cast into the lake of fire. 13:01 There is such a thing as truth. 13:03 And Jesus said, "You will know the truth, 13:05 and the truth will make you or set you free." 13:11 The kingdom of God is based upon justice 13:13 that which is right and fair. 13:15 There's a saying in America and it's true, 13:17 "No justice, no peace." 13:21 You see, it must not only be right, 13:23 it must be seen to be right. 13:27 God is a just God. 13:28 And that is why there is a Judgment Day. 13:32 And the kingdom of God, God's kingdom, 13:35 the kingdom of Christ is based upon life and liberty. 13:42 Life, Jesus said in John Chapter 10, 13:45 I think, 13:46 "I've come that they may have life 13:48 and have it more abundantly." 13:50 If you want to be happy, my friend, 13:52 if you want to be fulfilled, 13:54 you need to be on the side of Christ 13:58 because that is the kingdom of God. 13:59 People say what's gone wrong in America? 14:01 What's gone wrong in the world? 14:03 Why is there so much hate speech? 14:07 Why did the politicians all the time 14:08 seem to be talking hate? 14:12 Why is this spread to people everywhere, 14:14 where people just kind of agree to disagree, 14:18 but everybody's got to be in this camp or in that camp, 14:22 and people have got all of this hate. 14:24 But Jesus said, 14:26 "I've come that people who may have life." 14:29 So there's the kingdom of God which operates in the world 14:32 and you should ask yourself the question as I do. 14:35 What kingdom do I belong to? 14:38 And there's another kingdom. 14:40 It is the kingdom of Satan the serpent. 14:46 It is a kingdom that is filled with hate. 14:49 Have you ever heard it, hate speech? 14:51 Every person is a Devil. 14:53 If he's belongs to a different party to you, 14:56 that's of the devil. 14:58 Hate speech, desire to destroy our enemies full of poison. 15:03 Look at this text in Romans Chapter 3. 15:05 It is so strong 15:07 I'm almost embarrassed to read it to you. 15:09 Romans Chapter 3, it describes certain people, 15:12 "Their throat is an open tomb." 15:16 When they speak, the filth comes out. 15:19 "With their tongues they have practiced deceit. 15:21 The poison of asps," 15:22 snakes," 15:24 Is under their lips. 15:27 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. 15:32 And the way of peace they have not known." 15:35 Do you know people like that? 15:37 "There is no fear of God before their eyes." 15:39 And so you've got people 15:41 when they speak out comes to hate, 15:44 out comes the poison, out comes the lies. 15:47 You know what Hitler said, 15:49 "If you want to ruin our nation, 15:51 there's one good way to do it. 15:52 Not only tell a lie but tell a big lie 15:55 and repeat it over and over and over and over again." 15:59 We are living today in the age of the super liar. 16:07 It may have a lot to do with religion, 16:08 but it's got nothing to do with Christ and the Kingdom. 16:14 The kingdom of Satan, the serpent 16:17 is based on force and coercion. 16:19 That's why dictators flourish in the world today. 16:24 We believe in the truth. 16:26 You can think as you please, 16:29 we do not believe at least as a Christian, 16:32 I do not believe in coercion. 16:35 This is what America was based upon. 16:38 No fear, no coercion. 16:40 When I became an American citizen, 16:42 I received a letter 16:44 as many others did from the President that said, 16:46 "You got the right to think as you please." 16:49 Nobody can tell me what I can think. 16:52 Nobody can tell me what my beliefs are. 16:55 I refuse to be dictated to by the state or by any church 17:00 because I believe in freedom. 17:02 That's how God made us. 17:04 The kingdom of Satan is based upon lawlessness. 17:08 He's the original anarchist. 17:11 Look at 2 Thessalonians 2:3&9. 17:14 Amazing text, it says, 17:16 "That no one deceive you by any means 17:18 for that day will not come 17:20 unless the falling away comes first 17:22 and the man of sin or lawlessness has revealed, 17:25 the son of perdition. 17:27 The coming of the lawless one." 17:30 This is the antichrist, 17:31 "Is according to the working of Satan 17:33 with all power signs and lying wonders, lies, 17:37 slander, hate speech, lawless deeds, anarchy. 17:43 This is a part of the kingdom of the snake. 17:49 Kingdom of the snake, 17:51 Satan is based upon selfishness. 17:53 It's all about me, the prosperity gospel. 17:56 In this great land, 17:57 there's such a thing as the prosperity gospel. 17:59 And Christianity is simply used 18:02 as a means for people to become wealthy, 18:05 they think blessed are the people 18:08 who are super rich. 18:11 It is not the kingdom of God. 18:12 It is the kingdom of the serpent 18:16 masquerading in the God of religion. 18:20 It is a kingdom of Satan based upon lies. 18:23 Look at John 8:44. 18:25 Well, look at this text, John 8:44. 18:29 This is talking about Jesus. 18:30 He said, "You are of your father the devil 18:32 and the desires of your father you want to do, 18:35 he was a murderer from the beginning, 18:37 and does not stand in the truth. 18:41 There is no truth in him. 18:42 When he speaks a lie, 18:44 he speaks from his own resources 18:46 for he is a liar and the father of it." 18:48 People say today, "It's okay to tell lies." 18:51 Yeah, we know the Satan but he is lying over that. 18:54 But that's okay. 18:56 God doesn't care about this. 18:58 The last book in the New Testament says 19:00 that in the lake of fire will be the people 19:03 who loved lies, believed in lies, 19:08 and who practice lies. 19:09 But the kingdom of God is based on truth. 19:12 But the kingdom of Satan is based on lies. 19:14 It is based upon injustice. 19:18 The oppression of the poor or the oppression of people 19:22 because of the color of their skin. 19:25 It brings forth death and causes death. 19:28 So there are two systems in the world today. 19:32 What do you belong to? 19:35 There's the kingdom of Christ 19:37 and there is the kingdom of the serpent. 19:43 And the two will never, never reach a compromise. 19:47 This kingdom, this battle has no boundaries. 19:50 It's in every country. 19:51 It's in America. It's in every organization. 19:55 There's going to come a final outcome. 19:58 There's going to be a great final battle. 20:03 There's going to come a great climax. 20:05 This world is heading towards the climax. 20:08 People say, "What's going to happen to America? 20:11 Same as what's going to happen to the world? 20:13 There's going to be the last great showdown. 20:16 It won't be the shootout at the O. K. Corral, 20:19 it is going to be a final battle 20:22 between Christ and Satan. 20:27 This battle has gone on, 20:28 as seen in the lives of many individuals 20:31 your life and mine. 20:34 Abel versus Cain, Noah against the antediluvians, 20:41 Lot against the depraved Sodomites, Jacob against Esau, 20:46 Moses against Pharaoh, 20:49 Christ against the leader of the big church, 20:52 Caiaphas, Paul against the established religion, 20:55 the Christians against the Romans. 20:57 You see the battle? 20:59 The battle, truth versus era, 21:01 the Protestant reformers against the Papacy, 21:05 the Remnant against the Antichrist. 21:10 Behind the Scenes of everything 21:11 that's going on in the world today, 21:13 there's a great spiritual battle. 21:15 The struggle of truth and righteousness, 21:18 the struggle against wickedness in high places. 21:22 If our eyes could be open, 21:23 we would see the great controversy, 21:25 we would see the opposing forces of Christ 21:29 and his angels and Satan and his angels. 21:32 And the question is, 21:33 brother, sister, what side are you on? 21:39 I want to be on the side of Christ and truth, don't you? 21:43 In our own lives, 21:45 the Great Controversy continues in every heart and every place, 21:48 we feel the tug. 21:50 It is time to decide for Christ and truth. 21:54 Look at Revelation 12:17, please. 21:59 It says this, Revelation 12:17, 22:02 "And the dragon," that's the devil, 22:04 "Was enraged with the woman," 22:05 that's the church, 22:07 "And he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, 22:09 who keep the commandments of God 22:11 and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." 22:13 In the last days, 22:16 demonic forces are going to come against God's people 22:20 in an attempt to destroy them 22:22 and brought them from the earth. 22:24 But I've got good news for you. 22:25 If you follow Christ, you are on the winning side. 22:31 Want to talk about this. 22:34 Come over here to Revelation Chapter 20 22:36 because it talks about the climax, 22:38 Revelation 20:7-9. 22:41 This is the climax, I've read the back of the book. 22:44 And because I've read the back of the book, 22:46 I know that God's people are going to win. 22:48 What about you?
