00:04 It's a windy day
00:06 outside the Pendleton Correctional Faculty 00:08 but somehow this wind never really 00:09 seems to get inside where the men are. 00:12 And yet the cool breezes of the Holy Spirit are inside 00:16 and Christ is inside and His presence is inside. 00:20 Last year we baptized 11 men in this facility. 00:23 So something very good is happening here at Pendleton 00:26 and you will know about that, 00:27 you'll hear about that on this edition of Free Indeed. 00:42 I'm free indeed. 00:47 It's something that we don't always ask you to do 00:49 and that's to kneel for this particular prayer. 00:52 If you're not impressed to, don't want to read 00:55 we can understand that but I'm going to 00:58 and because you want to ask God's blessing upon this, 01:01 this particular time and this service. 01:10 Jesus, we come to You now. 01:13 Back in the olden days 01:15 the subjects knelt before their king. 01:19 It was a demand of the king, it's a request from You. 01:26 But there's coming a day when every knee shall bow. Yes. 01:30 And every heart will confess. Yes. 01:34 That You're king of kings and Lord of Lord's. 01:39 That's right, that's right. 01:40 And so we, we kneel and bow here now 01:44 because we accept You as our Lord, 01:49 our Savior and our soon coming king. 01:54 Father, there are men here who have already 01:59 committed their lives to You in their hearts. 02:04 And this ceremony is just a public acknowledgement 02:10 of a change that has already began. 02:15 Father, when we stand up for Jesus, 02:17 Jesus stands up for us. 02:19 But we pick up at least one enemy, his name is Satan. 02:25 The deceiver, the destroyer, the devil. 02:32 That old dragon and serpent. 02:36 So Father, right now I'm asking in the name of Jesus, 02:41 that his presence will not be felt. 02:46 That he'll be banished from this place. 02:48 Yes, yes. 02:49 That his angels will be put away. 02:53 And that the only music we'll hear 02:57 of the sweet singing of the angels of God. 03:02 Bless this service Lord, with Your presence and Your power 03:05 and give these new babes in the faith, victory in Jesus. 03:14 Give them overcoming power in Jesus. 03:18 Give them strength and stamina in Jesus. 03:22 Help them to run the race in Jesus. 03:26 To fight the good fighter faith in Jesus. 03:30 To receive victory in Jesus. 03:33 To move from grace to grace and strength to strength in Jesus. 03:39 Help them to know that it always has been is now. 03:44 And always will be all about Jesus. 03:49 Hallelujah. That's right. 03:51 Take the world give us Jesus. Yes, yes. 03:55 And we praise you dear God, and we thank You dear God, 04:00 and we glory and magnify Your name dear God 04:04 in the blessed and worthy 04:07 and mighty and powerful 04:10 and all conquering name of Jesus. 04:13 Amen, and amen. Hallelujah, hallelujah. 04:20 When we were in the baptismal class 04:22 was it yesterday, Thursday? 04:24 Somebody stocked their head in the door and said, 04:25 they said, "keep Chris down to the count of 15." 04:33 I'm not gonna cal any names, better than we don't. 04:36 Amen, amen. 04:38 But you know giving your life to Jesus 04:39 doesn't mean you suddenly become perfect. 04:44 I'll tell you something what giving your life, 04:46 what conversion is? 04:50 I want you to hold on this. 04:51 Conversion is a change of direction. 04:54 All right. That's what it is. 04:56 It doesn't mean you're perfect, you're perfecting. 05:00 Doesn't mean you're not gonna have bad days. 05:03 Doesn't mean you're going not, 05:04 you're not going to slip and fall. 05:06 It means you've changed your direction. 05:08 Amen. I was walking-- 05:12 One way, away from Jesus 05:15 and I notice that Jesus is going that way. 05:19 So we'll keep walking this way? No, no. 05:23 Because everyday Jesus is getting further away from you. 05:25 That's right. That's right. 05:27 So what I got to do? Change my direction. 05:30 I got a decision to make. May be 'U' turn. 05:32 But all my friends are going this way. 05:34 No, no. Pastor going that way. 05:37 No. Chaplain going this way. 05:40 You can't say that. Or my homies. 05:42 We all going this way. But Jesus is going that way. 05:47 So what do I do? Take a 'U' turn. 05:49 That's what I do. I'll make a 'U' turn. 05:52 Now I'm walking with Jesus. Amen. 05:54 So when I fall, Jesus is right by my side to pick me up. 06:01 And I guarantee you you're gonna fall 06:05 while you're getting perfect. 06:07 You'll have bad days. That is right. 06:09 But you have changed your direction. Hallelujah. 06:13 So before you knee hits the ground 06:15 Christ right there saying, 06:16 "get up brush yourself off, lets' go." 06:18 Amen. Amen. 06:20 So he is changed his the direction. 06:22 You are going to get better 06:23 because God gonna see to it that it gets better. 06:25 Amen, amen. 06:32 Chris, because you love the Lord, 06:35 your presence here says you're in love with Jesus. 06:38 You got a new best friend. Yeah. 06:41 And his name is Jesus Yeah. 06:43 He is not going to go far. 06:44 In fact He has promised never to leave you, 06:47 never to forsake you. 06:49 There's nothing you can do that will surprise Him. 06:51 There's no hole you can crawl into or fall into 06:55 that Christ can't pick you up. 06:59 So because you love Jesus. 07:01 And in the presence of Jesus and under the power of Jesus 07:05 I baptize you in the name of Father, 07:07 of His Son and of the Holy Ghost 07:10 in Jesus name be faithful unto death 07:14 and He will give you a crown of eternal life. 07:18 Take a deep breath. That's not inside. 11:27 Only Jesus can change inside and that's free. 11:30 That's right. Praise God. 11:32 So Robert, Robert just got a makeover for free. 11:37 Amen. Amen. 11:38 Take my wrist, yeah. 11:41 And when we'll read it you need to hold down here. 11:43 I say Father of Holy Ghost 11:45 you take the deep breath and cover it up. 11:48 Robert Hicks, because you love the Lord. 11:50 Your presence here is an indication that you love Jesus. 11:54 And we see the change in your life because of Jesus 11:57 and now in the name of Jesus and under the power of Jesus 12:00 we baptize you in the name of Father, 12:03 of his Son and of the Holy Ghost. 12:06 In the presence of Jesus be faithful unto death, Robert, 12:10 and Jesus Himself will give you a crown of eternal life. 12:14 Take a deep breath and-- Hallelujah. 12:18 Take me to the water Take me to the water 12:28 Come on Take me to the water 12:33 Oh Lord, to be baptized 12:37 My brother Clichard McGee, 12:41 your presence here today says that you love Jesus. 12:44 That you've given your heart to Him, 12:46 that you've begun that road that will lead one day to glory. 12:50 And so it gives us pleasure to baptize you 12:52 in the name of Jesus and under the power of Jesus 12:55 in the name of the Father 12:56 and of His Son and of the Holy Ghost. 13:00 Jesus said be faithful unto death 13:03 and He will give you a crown of life. 13:15 I have baptized my dad 13:16 in the Buffalo, New York in November 13:18 and the pipes in the church broke. 13:20 Water was freezing and I was in the tank with him 13:23 and felt bad putting his face under that cold water 13:26 but one month later he had a stroke and die. 13:28 So I was glad I did it 13:30 because we got him in before the Lord called him to rest. 13:35 And so my brother David Ericson, 13:38 because you love Jesus, you've given your life to Jesus, 13:43 you surrendered your heart to Jesus. 13:45 It gives us pleasure to baptize you in the name of Jesus 13:49 and in the power of Jesus and in the name of the Father 13:53 and of His Son and of the Holy Ghost. 13:56 Jesus says be faithful unto death 13:58 and He will give you a crown of life. 14:09 The Bible says, whenever someone 14:11 gives their heart to the Lord angels rejoice. 14:13 Amen. Amen. 14:14 You know, angels kind of throw a party 14:16 because they are so excited to see someone come to Jesus. 14:21 You can spend your whole life serving to devil 14:24 and then come to the Lord 14:26 in your last broken down days and angels throw a party. Amen. 14:30 And that's how much God loves us. Amen. 14:32 And when you come, when you're young 14:33 and kind of strong and good looking, 14:35 praise the Lord, God can use you. 14:37 You know, --and like your haircut. 14:49 My brother in Christ, because you love Jesus, 14:55 your presence here is indication that you love Jesus. 14:59 You have given your all to Him 15:01 and He has given His all for you. 15:04 We now baptize you in the presence of Jesus, 15:09 under the power of Jesus. 15:11 In name of the Father 15:13 of His Son and of the Holy Ghost, 15:17 my Jesus has said be faithful unto death 15:21 and He will give you a crown of eternal life. 15:39 Also kind of slip down on us at the last minute 15:43 but there is story in Matthew 15:45 it talks about the people that came at 3 o'clock, 15:48 some came at 6 o'clock, some came at 11 o'clock 15:52 and everybody got the same penny. 15:55 And so those who had come early in the day said, 15:57 now wait, wait, wait, wait, this is not right. 16:01 We've been working all day, we got a penny 16:05 and these guys work one hour and they get the same penny. 16:09 And God said, "So?" 16:14 He said, you, you signed on for a penny. 16:17 Don't get mad at Me because I'm generous and I love. 16:24 So those that come late get the same penny 16:28 as those, that come early. 16:32 And a thing about it when you get to heaven 16:34 it's not gonna matter. 16:36 You could be so glad that you got in. Hallelujah. 16:40 You gonna be so glad that you got in. 16:44 You're not gonna worry about those that came and, 16:45 I served the Lord all my life and you didn't. 16:47 My dad served the one month and had a stroke. 16:52 I got baptized at age 10 16:54 and been serving the Lord all my life. 16:56 And my dad and I will be in the same condo 16:58 right next to each other. Amen. 17:01 Everybody gets the penny. That's the love of God. 17:07 Amen. Amen. 17:08 That's right, that's right. 17:09 First last, last of you first, it won't matter. 17:12 It won't matter not in heaven 17:13 because you will have all you need. 17:15 And you won't be looking at mine and I won't be looking at yours. 17:17 I will be so glad that I'm there. 17:20 That would be enough from me. Amen. 17:37 My brother Arthur, because you love the Lord, 17:44 you've given your life to Jesus 17:46 and Jesus has accepted that life. 17:49 He is gonna give you the power to live victoriously. 17:53 It gives us pleasure to baptize you 17:55 in the name of the Father 17:57 and of His Son and of the Holy Ghost, 18:01 in the presence of and under the power of 18:04 our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 18:07 His command to you be faithful unto death 18:10 and He will give you a crown of life. 18:17 Take me to the water Take me to the water 18:26 Come on Take me to the water 18:32 Oh Lord, to be baptized 18:36 When I met Edward yesterday and in dealing with him 18:40 with the baptism all things and other things that I-- 18:44 there was something about him 18:45 and I couldn't quite figure it out 18:47 and when I heard he was military as a dad is I knew that he has-- 18:52 he kind of comes off kind of like a marine a little bit. 18:56 He kind of official, you know, kind of official 18:58 and I said, you're military. 19:01 No nonsense. He said, here's the papers. 19:04 Sign them, I'll be back to pick them up. 19:05 I said, yes sir. So it's in there. 19:10 Well, today he is listing in a new army. Amen. 19:14 And, and there is no discharge. 19:18 You never get kicked out of this army. Hallelujah. 19:19 Now you can, you can excuse yourself. 19:22 But Christ will never kick you out. 19:24 And there is no dishonorable discharge. Amen. 19:30 You--Jesus--you got Him now and He has got you. 19:34 So you're in a brand new army and you will stay in that army 19:37 till the day you die 19:38 or till the day Christ grabs you by the hand 19:41 and takes you into that city. 19:43 You'll never get a pass. 19:45 You'll never get a vacation. 19:46 You'll never get downtime. 19:48 You're in His army from now on, amen. 19:51 Amen. Okay. 19:59 My dear brother Edward Hoffman, 20:02 what we do now we do it in the name of Jesus. 20:06 Because you've shown and proven your love for Jesus. 20:10 You've been listed in the army of Jesus. 20:12 You have stated that you'll walk with Jesus 20:15 and talk with Jesus and live for Jesus 20:18 and love Jesus and continue to be a child of Jesus. 20:23 And so now in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ 20:26 we baptize you in the name of the Father, 20:28 Son and Holy Ghost and in the name, 20:31 the matchless and mighty name of Jesus. 20:35 Be faithful Edward, unto death 20:39 and Jesus Himself will give you a crown of life. 20:48 Take me to the water Take me to the water 20:58 Come on Take me to the water 21:05 Oh Lord, To be baptized. 21:08 Nothing but the righteous 21:12 I said, none Nothing but the righteous 21:17 Oh Lord, Nothing but the righteous 21:24 Shall see God 21:29 The program that you are watching 'Free Indeed' 21:32 is absolutely the gospel message at work 21:36 behind prison bars perhaps. 21:38 There is a lot of people that ask me. 21:40 They said Lem, how many people do you see that are converted? 21:43 How many baptisms do you see? 21:45 I want to tell you my dear brothers and sisters, 21:48 we are sowing seeds for the gospel. 21:51 We are sowing seeds for the kingdom. 21:53 These people today are making decisions through baptism, 21:58 through a final commitment that they want to follow Christ. 22:01 Their work is not done but they are invited into the vineyard 22:05 that they may continue to work for Christ 22:07 and bring honor and glory to God 22:09 and bring others under this point in their life 22:12 that they would be willing to surrender all to Christ. 22:14 We say, thank you for your sponsorship for this program 22:17 and we would like you to be involved, 22:20 your church to be involved 22:21 that they may take this program to their county jail or prison, 22:24 ChristmasBehindBars.org. Blessings to you. 22:34 I don't know how many of you here are baptized or not 22:40 but its, its one thing to say you love Jesus. 22:45 So now that they stand up for Him. 22:48 And when you go down in the water, 22:50 you're symbolizing that death, burial, resurrection of Jesus. 22:56 Amen. That's right. 22:57 You can read Romans 6, its my chapter on baptism. 23:01 Because you're, you're emulating the example set by the Lord. 23:07 If you haven't done it think about it. 23:10 We have too many closet Christians. 23:14 It's time to come out of closet. Amen. 23:19 You know, don't wait for somebody to out you, 23:24 out yourself. Amen. 23:25 Amen. That's right. 23:28 Come on out for Jesus and stand up for Jesus. 23:32 The only regret you ever have in coming to Christ 23:38 is that you didn't do it sooner. 23:40 Amen. That's only regret you have. 23:42 That you didn't it sooner because, you'll get power, 23:45 power, wonder, working power in the name of Jesus. 23:53 So get on in. The water is fine. 23:58 And Christ will be there with you. Amen. 24:00 And you will get a whole, host of witnesses. 24:04 There's a great text in Hebrews 12. 24:06 It talks about this cloud of witnesses 24:08 that's right there with you. 24:11 Right there by you. You know, stand by you. 24:14 Unseen angels and the Holy Spirit of God 24:17 will assist you everyday of your life 24:21 and Christ will be there just as long as you want Him. 24:26 One thing about the devil 24:28 that nothing about you that he is afraid of. 24:31 Nothing, nothing you can do, 24:33 no ugly face you can make. 24:34 You can ball up your fists, not gonna frightening him 24:36 because you're not fighting a human 24:38 you're fighting principalities and power. 24:41 So if you want to win that battle 24:43 you got to have Jesus on your side. 24:45 Amen. Amen. 24:47 And then He will fight for you. 24:48 In fact He will say "standstill, see the salvation of the Lord." 24:54 You don't need to fight in that battle, 24:56 Jesus will fight it for you. 24:58 Amen. So get on in. 25:02 water is fine but more than that Jesus will join you 25:06 and He will never ever let you go. 25:10 Amen. Shall we pray? 25:12 Father God, there may be those who are considering baptism, 25:19 give them the grace, give them the strength 25:24 to make that giant leap for You. 25:28 Help them to trust You even when they cannot trace You. 25:34 Help them to know that You're always there. 25:38 Father, for those who are baptized this day, 25:41 anoint them to be the children of the most high God. 25:45 And for those of us, who have long walked with You, 25:49 help us not to get weary, Lord. 25:52 Help us not to get tired because you have said, 25:56 "He that endorse to the end shall be saved, 26:02 shall receive the crown of life, 26:04 shall walk through the gates and into the holy city." 26:07 Oh, dear God, keep us in the path 26:11 that we have selected for ourselves. 26:14 That is the path of righteousness 26:17 and we praise you and thank You 26:21 in the worthy and blessed name of Jesus. 26:24 Amen. Amen. 26:27 With the help of my fellow comrades here 26:31 and through the ministries that they have here 26:35 people kept talking me and you need to get baptized. 26:38 You need to get baptized. 26:39 And it clicked one day I need to get right with our Lord 26:42 with between me and Him 26:44 just a personal message with me and Him 26:47 on one basis so that we're together. 26:50 And I don't know if I will be worthy 26:54 to accept one of the crown while I'm there. 26:56 Brother, let me share with you something. 26:57 Let me share with your beautify. 26:59 God went to prepare a home for us 27:01 and there will be a crown for you and for me. 27:04 Yes, we'll be as we meet Jesus and hear those words, 27:06 "Well done thou good in faithful servant." 27:08 Are we worthy? Absolutely not, brother. 27:11 But it's because of Jesus that makes us worthy 27:14 and so you will receive a crown. 27:16 And prior between now and then he has given you a work 27:19 and that's to carry the gospel message from here and beyond 27:22 and the other people will be also added to the kingdom. 27:24 So God bless you, thank you very, very much. 27:26 They gave me 150 years 27:29 and they reduced it to down once to 98. 27:31 So they gave you a deal? They gave me a deal. 27:33 Down to 98, and said they couldn't get me 27:35 anything over 100 to that was life. 27:36 And He'll be there for you. 27:39 And don't ever get angry, don't get upset, 27:42 and if somebody does something to you 27:43 like I feel like I have been wrong forgive those people. 27:47 Pray for those people and also pray for yourself 27:50 because I had to pray for myself 27:52 because I was thinking evil of those people. 27:54 I felt bad of those people. That's the human nature. 27:57 I even felt like renouncing God at that time. 27:59 When I got into the county jail 28:01 and I instead I dropped down after about 3 months 28:04 when I got down and I said, Lord, forgive me 28:07 for what I follow these people 28:08 and please forgive them for what they've done to me. 28:11 And I'm still gonna get out here some day. 28:13 Whether it be home on the outside 28:15 or whether be home with them. 28:16 This world is not our home. That's right 28:17 And we're just passing through. 28:19 God bless you and this prison house is not your home. |
