00:01 Welcome to Grandma's House!
00:03 The time we spend together is one Grandma's attempt to 00:06 love and bless in Jesus name. 00:08 The kids you see are not real actors just kids 00:11 in a real neighborhood. 00:12 Like any other they are the joy of my life. 00:15 Especially when I see the little seeds 00:17 I plant begin to sprout. 00:19 If you have an empty place in your heart please stay. 00:23 Spend a little time at Grandma's House. 00:43 Hi there you beautiful grandkids of mine! 00:45 This is a very exciting day out here. 00:48 We have been making a tree-house and the boys 00:52 are out here to help me make a ladder. 00:54 We don't have any way to get up there yet. 00:56 So we are going to start with building the ladder 00:59 and in the process we are going to learn 01:01 to use a number of tools. 01:02 So why don't you just come and join us and 01:05 help us build the ladder. 01:07 Come on! 01:09 Alright boys, do you have a nail ready? 01:13 Okay what we want you to do is nail down, 01:15 take one of these long nails - I have 2 already 01:19 You have 2 that's wonderful. 01:27 You're doing good. 02:04 Yeaaaaaaaaaah! 02:09 There's a nice flat area here. 02:10 That's just right. 02:18 Grandma had us come over to help her build 02:19 the tree-house. 02:20 We had to lay down the floor and we had 02:22 to build steps to get up. 02:25 Long time ago he had the handle split so he had to 02:27 wrap it with this. 02:28 Whack away, whack away! 02:29 We had to use a level to make sure that 02:32 the steps were even where we could climb up it 02:36 so we don't fall down. 02:53 When we are done with this tree-house, I'm moving in! 02:59 Well here we are at the Playhouse, this is where 03:01 the girls have been busy while the boys have been 03:03 over there hammering away. 03:05 Why don't you come on inside and we will see what 03:07 they're doing in there? 03:08 We'll see if they're doing it right, come on. 03:16 That was the girl's house, 03:18 we needed to work on it because that is where us 03:20 girls have like our own little time. 03:22 Were going to build a second story to it and us 03:25 girls can have our own time in there. 03:27 The boys get a tree-house, 03:29 we all get our different things. 03:31 The boys can't come into it girls house and the 03:33 girls can't go into the boy's house. 03:37 Would you like to do some sanding? 03:48 Well we didn't actually get to choose a color of paint. 03:52 Grandma had like got colors like pink and the boys get 03:56 like their own colors. 03:57 Us girls get to decide, us girls, well we voted pink color 04:02 because we all like pink. 04:05 We like to choose pink a lot. 04:07 The boys don't like pink so they will run away. 04:14 We're not done yet. 04:15 We still have to put up the walls and a door. 04:22 And it's going to be the tree-house for the guys. 04:24 The girls already have one. 04:38 I was painting Grandma Neil's play house pink. 04:51 Because were about ready to put some different in here. 05:01 I painted the room pink. 05:11 When we paint all of it pretty and it looks pretty. 05:46 Brittney painted the stamps on that thing 05:50 and even Samantha. 05:52 And Marissa had to tape the windows and 05:56 I painted it with a ruler. 06:03 We have to paint and as soon as we are done 06:06 painting and covering the nails. 06:07 We get to organize everything, but before we organize 06:11 we have to build up the second part. 06:13 Because the logs are hanging the sides like this. 06:18 What we are going to do, they are going to have us 06:21 kids go up there and sit down and were going to put 06:24 boards all over it and nail them down. 06:29 Then we are going to make stairs to go up there. 06:31 So as soon as we finish it we can 06:37 probably stay the night. 06:38 As long as it is okay with Grandma Neil. 06:41 Sometimes we like to peek out the window, 06:42 they like to sneak in on us and everything, 06:44 they like to scare us too. 06:46 Wow we've been having so much fun today and 06:49 I am so glad you guys came. 06:52 You know while we're getting our things cleaned up here, 06:54 the paint brushes and so forth, there's time for you to 06:57 write down my address. 06:58 I would love to hear about your projects, 07:01 all about your life, so why don't you write me 07:03 a letter real soon? 07:05 If you don't have my address yet get ready 07:07 because here it comes. 07:09 Hey kids Grandma Neil would love to hear from you. 07:12 She loves to get pictures, drawings and anything 07:15 else you may want to send her. 07:17 She also answers each one of your letters so get 07:19 your pen ready and write down her address. 07:55 We sure used a lot of different tools today didn't we? 07:59 Do you remember everything you learned about 08:00 how to use them? 08:01 The best way to remember is to practice using 08:05 each tool again real soon. 08:06 Be sure to check with your parents first though and 08:10 do remember to put the tools away clean and dry when 08:13 you are finished with them. 08:14 That is the sign of a master craftsman. 08:17 He takes excellent care of his tools. 08:20 I started learning about tools from my dad 08:22 when I was pretty young. 08:24 He taught me to important things about tools. 08:27 The first one is to buy the very best quality 08:30 you can afford. 08:31 The quality of your tools determines mostly how 08:34 the success of your project will turn out. 08:37 You just can't do excellent work with cheap, 08:39 flimsy tools. 08:41 The second thing I learned is to take really good 08:44 care of the tools that you do buy. 08:46 It is just plain foolish to invest in quality tools 08:49 and then be too lazy to put them away. 08:51 Do you remember the story I told you about working on 08:54 the roof with my dad? 08:56 There is something really special about having your 08:59 father's attention all to yourself, isn't there? 09:02 Then if he let you build something that is even better. 09:06 When somebody takes the time to teach you something, 09:10 it is their way of showing that they love you. 09:12 Like my dad let me help him on the roof. 09:15 He was showing me that he loved me by letting me help him. 09:19 I didn't do it very well, but I felt very important, 09:24 very useful and I knew that he loved me. 09:27 That is how God is too. 09:30 I know He loves me when He teaches me how to help Him, 09:33 by using the tools that He gives me. 09:35 God has a lot of work to do, did you ever wonder how 09:39 He gets it all done? 09:40 You know He could do it all by Himself, but He wants us 09:44 to know how much He values us, so He lets us help Him. 09:48 He gives us the tools and shows us how to use them. 09:51 Do you know what God's work is? 09:53 Well Jesus summed it all up in the words 09:56 of the Golden Rule. 09:58 Treat others the way you want people to treat you. 10:01 That doesn't sound too hard, does it? 10:03 Sometimes it is easy to treat people well, 10:06 when they are nice to us. 10:08 But it can take a really strong person to be kind 10:11 to someone who mistreats you. 10:13 Well just like you get stronger when you exercise, 10:17 and just like practicing with the tool will 10:20 help you to work better. 10:22 Practice doing good to everyone no matter what and 10:24 that will help you to get better and better at 10:27 being a real help to God. 10:30 Think about what tools you have right now that you 10:33 could put to work doing God's jobs. 10:35 In making this world a better place, 10:37 it is the most important work there is. 10:40 Your voices could be a tool, maybe you know 10:43 a cheerful song, you could sing it for someone who is sad. 10:46 Your hands can be tools to help someone carry something, 10:50 or pat somebody on the back and say thank you. 10:52 Do you have food that you could share 10:55 with a hungry person? 10:56 Well how about a coat or pair of shoes. 10:59 There are dozens of ways that you can work with God 11:02 and I will promise you this you will never be happier 11:06 than when you do God's work. 11:08 Today I am having the best time of my life when 11:11 I spend time alone with my Heavenly Father. 11:15 Then I go out and help Him do His work, just like 11:19 I had the most fun when I spent time alone with my dad, 11:23 helping him with his work. 11:24 Way back then on the garage roof. 11:27 You know the more I get to know God, 11:29 the more fun it is to be with Him. 11:31 He is absolutely wonderful. 11:34 Till the next time I see you, don't miss out on the fun. 11:38 Go to work with God, He'll love it and so will you. 11:45 What's the difference between a grandpa and a grandma? 11:49 Well of course grandpa is a boy and grandma is a girl. 11:54 Girls do a lot more sassy things, some girls aren't that 11:58 sassy, some girls are like tom boys, like I know me, 12:02 Marissa and Tessa are tom boys. 12:03 But then Tessa can sometimes be a little girly, girl. 12:07 She's actually a really girly, girl. 12:10 She gets her nails done and she is like back off, Okay! |
