Write her today. 10:56 Know what, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. 10:59 The outing we had planned for today was actually supposed 11:02 to be a trip to the beach. 11:04 All of us were so looking forward to going there. 11:07 We were going to build sand castles and hunt for starfish 11:09 and sand dollars. 11:11 We had kites ready to fly and our swimsuits were ready. 11:14 It was a real disappointment when the skies turned gray 11:18 and rainy and we had to change our plans. 11:20 But I'm so grateful for my adaptive grandkids. 11:24 They were pretty sad when we couldn't go but they 11:28 cheerfully accepted a change of plans like real troopers. 11:31 We went out in the rain and had a fantastic time anyway. 11:35 I've got to warn you though, life is like that sometimes. 11:38 You know sometimes we get our hearts set on something 11:42 wonderful and then the unexpected 11:44 happens and changes everything. 11:46 Sometimes it's not too big a deal like having to make fun 11:49 in the rain instead of spending a day at the beach. 11:52 Other times it might be something really important. 11:56 All kinds of strange things can happen in our world and 11:59 its good to be ready for anything. 12:01 You know the Boy Scouts say, always be prepared! 12:05 God is like that, always prepared I mean. 12:09 He had such wonderful plans for our world when He first 12:13 created it, it was so beautiful and perfect back then. 12:16 And now we can hardly imagine what it was like in the very 12:20 beginning, but something awful happened 12:24 and changed everything. 12:25 In an instant we went from living and learning for ever 12:28 to just getting old and dying. 12:30 Oh, what a disappointment. 12:33 Well it broke God's heart to see His perfect plan ruined. 12:37 But He had another plan ready just in case He ever needed it. 12:41 And boy He needed it now. 12:42 God sent Jesus to rescue each one of us and 12:47 His lovely world from ruin. 12:49 Jesus made it possible for us to someday go back to the 12:52 beginning and start all over again with a brand-new Earth. 12:56 This time there won't be any devil to mess everything up. 12:59 We will have brand-new hearts like Jesus and 13:02 we will never mess up again. 13:05 But here is the thing you have to decide that, that is what 13:08 you want to do, and it is not always easy to follow the 13:12 pathway marked out in the Bible. 13:14 Well here's a hint that helps me over the rough spots when 13:18 I might be tempted to give up. 13:21 It's just a little bit of a song you probably know. 13:24 I've taken it from my very own and it goes like this: 13:27 I have decided to follow Jesus 13:32 I have decided to follow Jesus. 13:36 I have decided to follow Jesus! 13:40 no turning back, no turning back. 13:44 Why don't you try it the next time you're tempted and remember 13:48 I love you a bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck 13:52 and a hug around the neck. 13:54 Doodle, doodle, doodle, doodle, doodle, doodle, 13:58 doodley, doodley do. 14:01 Did you know slugs have ity bity eyes and big antennas? 14:06 Singing in the rain, just singing in the rain. 14:09 I don't like slugs. 14:15 Oowe slimy 14:21 I don't know why the girls don't like me. 14:24 I hope their not leaches. |
