00:19 Good evening and welcome to Give Me The Bible
00:22 This is a series that has been produced by Kenneth Cox
00:25 Ministries and our speaker tonight will be Evangelist
00:28 Kenneth Cox, and we want to welcome you no matter where
00:32 you're tuning in from around the world.
00:34 And we want to welcome our live audience as well
00:37 it is so good to be able to sit at the feet of someone
00:41 who has really studied in depth and that's what Kenneth Cox
00:44 has done and he has traveled during his public ministry,
00:48 he has covered the world and we're very fortunate
00:52 to have him here at 3ABN and he is going to be continuing
00:56 his second part of a five-part series, the series titled
01:01 is The Elijah Message.
01:03 Last night we heard about the coming of Elijah
01:06 and do you remember what he said?
01:08 The Lord said the close of the Old Testament, that before the
01:12 coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord, He was going to
01:16 sent the prophet Elijah and Jesus when He was talking about
01:20 John the Baptist said that if you had ears to hear
01:23 you could understand that John the Baptist was the Elijah
01:26 that was to come. But when we think about the Elijah message
01:31 we learned last night that this is all about what?
01:35 turning the hearts of the fathers to whom?
01:38 To their children, and the hearts of the children
01:42 to their fathers, this is such a timely message
01:45 we need to hear this because families are crumbling
01:48 and why are they? Because the devil knows that the family
01:52 is the smallest unit of the church, and if he can break up
01:56 the families, he can break up the church.
01:58 But we're going to go on tonight, we're going to hear
02:01 about Abraham's alter.
02:02 There was a practice that Abraham held all of his life
02:07 and it really did contribute to the salvation of his family.
02:11 How are you this evening? Had a good day?
02:14 Great, all of those who are watching by television or
02:19 listening over the radio, I'm glad to welcome you tonight,
02:23 I hope that this subject will be a special blessing to
02:27 your family in a definite way as you know, we're talking about
02:32 the Elijah message and we found out last night that the
02:36 Elijah message deals with the home, turning the hearts of
02:40 the fathers to the children and the children to their fathers
02:43 and that's what the Elijah message is about,
02:46 and that's what we are talking about during this series.
02:49 Our next presentation is entitled "Bless this House",
02:55 "Bless this House", there are certain things that the
03:01 scripture gives us, lays it down very clear
03:04 that if you and I will follow those that God will bless our
03:10 whole home promises that, absolutely, if we'll do it.
03:13 And we'll find on our next presentation that the promises
03:19 of God are conditional; they're conditional and He lays down
03:26 conditions that if you and I fulfill those conditions,
03:30 then the blessing is sure.
03:32 So, we hope that this subject on Bless this House will be
03:36 of help to you in a special way.
03:39 And then tonight our subject is Abraham's Altar...
03:43 Abraham's Altar...uh there's certain things
03:49 that you need to look for in tonight's presentation
03:53 that Abraham did that affected his family
03:59 and his descendants for generations made a great
04:04 great difference, and it had to do with the family and
04:08 so watch for that as we talk about Abraham's, and it gives us
04:14 some insights into what you and I need to be doing and what God
04:19 expects of us, and so we hope that tonight's presentation
04:23 will be a blessing to you in a special way.
04:27 We're glad that you are here, glad that you're watching,
04:29 we hope that as you continue to study God's word
04:34 it will continue to lead and guide you as you go through
04:39 the scripture day by day.
04:41 [Music]
04:48 Gracious Lord, we come to you this evening, asking that you'll
04:56 be present, that you'll send your Holy Spirit that it may
05:02 quicken our minds, give us receptive hearts,
05:07 Pray that we each may understand our responsibilities
05:16 and that we might be willing to follow you in all that we do
05:25 for this, we ask in Christ's name. Amen!
05:35 I don't know of anything in the Christian life that the
05:46 devil fights more than what we're going to talk about
05:49 tonight. In fact, he will do everything that he can
05:57 think of to keep you from doing it.
06:02 He will give you every excuse in the world, not to do it
06:10 he'll convince you that you're too busy, that you don't have
06:18 enough time, he'll do everything he can to keep you from doing
06:23 what we're talking about tonight.
06:25 So I hope that you will see and understand and purpose
06:31 in your heart, that you are going to do what God wants you to do.
06:36 Abraham of old, Abraham left the err the Chaldees',
06:44 he and his father, his brother, quite a few others,
06:49 and they made their way up to a place called Herrin.
06:52 Herrin was right there by the river, very beautiful country
06:57 lots of grass and everything, and they settled there
07:01 and that's where they stayed for a number of years.
07:05 But God had called Abraham to leave there and to go to
07:12 the Land of Canaan. When God asked Abraham to go to
07:17 the Land of Canaan folks, He was asking Abraham to go
07:22 into a very very hostile environment.
07:27 Cause the people that lived in Canaan were pagans,
07:32 they were pagans, they practiced all kinds of immorality
07:39 they sacrificed animals to pagan gods, they even sacrificed their
07:45 children. They were terrible.
07:50 So, why would God take Abraham and put him into such
07:55 a hostile environment, why would He do that?
08:01 Because God made the statement...
08:04 For I have known him, God said when it comes to Abraham
08:09 I've known him in order that he may command his what?
08:17 Command his children and his household after him
08:21 that they keep the way of the Lord to do righteousness
08:25 and justice that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He has
08:29 spoken to him, so God said I trust Abraham, he's my friend
08:34 he will do what I ask him to do and he will praise his children
08:39 as I have instructed him to raise them.
08:45 Now, when it talks about Abraham's household,
08:48 what kind of household did he have?
08:51 Well, Abraham's household numbered a lot,
08:58 Abraham left Herrin, came down and came into the land of Canaan
09:05 and when he came into the land of Canaan, the very first
09:10 place he came to was Shechem, remember that Shechem.
09:14 And in Shechem, he built an altar there it says...
09:28 Now it says he met him there and he built an altar
09:32 and it says I know Abraham that he will direct his house hold
09:36 after Me. Well, Abraham's household numbered over 1,000.
09:42 Did you realize that? His household numbered
09:48 over 1,000 people, and when they built an altar
09:53 they didn't build an altar just to offer sacrifice on,
09:58 that wasn't the total purpose of the altar.
10:01 True, they brought an animal and offered it there
10:04 but the altar was where they came and worshipped.
10:07 They came to there every morning and every evening
10:13 and worshipped God at this altar, the altar was the sinner
10:18 of their activity. Everything went on around it so
10:22 when they came to a place where they stayed
10:25 they built an altar, and that's where they worshipped.
10:28 But Abraham, as it said here, had a lot of people in his
10:33 household, so do you remember the time when these kings
10:36 came down and they raided Sodom and Gomorrah, and they took
10:41 Abraham's nephew, captive, remember that?
10:44 Listen to this?
10:46 Now, when Abram heard that by his brethren by that way,
10:50 that's talking about Lot... His brother was taken captive
10:54 he armed his, how many? 318 trained servants, listen,
11:03 who were born in his house and went in pursuit
11:09 as far as Dan. So he had 318 men there, servants,
11:14 that were born in his household.
11:15 So his household was not just a few, and when he took them
11:21 he trained them and taught them about the Lord, and they
11:25 followed the Lord so that everywhere that Abraham went
11:28 all across the land of Canaan you could follow his travels
11:34 because there would be an altar there.
11:36 They built an altar, and you could see exactly where Abraham went
11:40 and when these pagan people came along, they could see the
11:44 altar, and they knew that's where Abraham had been.
11:47 And not only did Abraham do that, then he taught his sons
11:54 to worship God, to bring their families before the Lord.
11:58 So we read here...
12:09 So we find that Isaac followed the same custom as Abraham
12:14 wherever they stopped, spent time, they'd build an altar
12:18 but Isaac took it a step further, he had his servants
12:22 dig a well and so there at the altar where they worshipped
12:27 there was also a well that provided water and life.
12:31 It was there and you know, you could follow wherever
12:35 place that Isaac went because one thing, there was a well there
12:38 it was green around it, and so they could see exactly where
12:42 Isaac had been, and he worshipped and followed the Lord
12:45 and it continues to say about him... It says that...
12:52 These were places that he built altars to the Lord.
12:56 Well, do you remember his son Jacob?
13:02 Well, you remember Jacob went down to his Uncle Laban's house
13:07 spent...Where was Uncle Laban? See how your Bible is.
13:13 Well, he was over in Herrin, I told you about okay?
13:15 So he goes over, spends some time with his Uncle Laban
13:20 and married Laban's two daughters, remember that?
13:24 And then the Lord said to him Jacob, it's time for you
13:28 to come back, and Jacob is coming back and the
13:33 very first place he comes in to the Land of Canaan
13:38 was at Shechem, the very same place that Abraham had come in
13:45 he came there to Shechem and what did he do there?
13:48 He re-built the altar, and he dug a well.
13:55 And 1,700 years later, the son of Jacob was there
14:02 drinking the water from the well that Jacob dug.
14:09 But that well was where the altar was and this is where
14:15 they came and they worshipped God, it's what took place there.
14:20 Now, watch, watch the circum- stances or the consequences
14:27 of having and not having morning and evening worship.
14:31 Because Abraham they were there every morning, every evening
14:37 that's where his household met and they worshipped,
14:39 same thing with Isaac, same thing with Jacob, right on down
14:43 but there was an individual in Abraham's household
14:47 that did not follow the custom.
14:50 Then Lot chose for himself all the plains of Jordan and
14:59 Lot journeyed east, and they separated from each other.
15:03 There, God had blessed Abraham He had blessed Lot
15:08 Until they had more cattle than They can be together with
15:13 because there wasn't enough pasture to take care of
15:15 Both of them, so they had to separate and Lot went down
15:20 into the plains of Jordan and down by Sodom and Gomorrah
15:24 because they were well-watered, they were beautiful
15:28 and he took his family, and they moved to Sodom and Gomorrah.
15:32 There is no record here, friend, no record here at all
15:38 of Lot who the Bible says was a righteous man,
15:41 don't misunderstand me, but there's no record of him having
15:46 morning and evening worship, there's no record of Lot
15:50 building an altar.
16:04 Alright, years pass, and the Lord said...
16:10 And the Lord is talking to Abraham here.
16:13 That's what He's doing.
16:35 He said I'm going to go down and find out.
16:37 Now, if you read the story here is Christ and two angels
16:45 and they've been there and they've been visiting with
16:47 Abraham and He's telling Abraham what He's going to do
16:50 he said I'm go to go down and take a look at
16:52 Sodom and Gomorrah, and see if it's as bad as they say it is.
16:56 Then the men the two angels
17:05 Interesting. Two angels go on toward Sodom,
17:10 Abraham stands before the Lord and he says to Him
17:23 Asked him and said you're going down there and this city's
17:27 wicked, but would you destroy the righteous with the wicked?
17:32 What if there is 50 righteous people there,
17:35 would you destroy it? And the Lord said No, and Abraham said
17:43 well, what if there's 40, would you destroy it? The Lord said no.
17:50 He keeps reducing, he said, what if there's 20, He said no,
17:57 I wouldn't destroy. Well, what if there's 10? He said Nah,
18:05 wouldn't destroy, he said what if there's just five?
18:08 He said no, wouldn't destroy. Those angels they're down in
18:17 Sodom and Gomorrah now and they have found Lot
18:20 now, folks, Lot is a good man, you must understand that.
18:24 But he hasn't done what he should have done for his
18:29 household, for his children, and those angels have told him,
18:34 God's going to destroy the city Get Out! Get Out Now!
18:59 You see, they didn't understand anything about this,
19:04 there was no altar, there was nothing there that taught them
19:08 day by day, and when he told them He was going to
19:11 burn this place up, to them He was joking.
19:31 They fled, only Lot and his two daughters made it,
19:37 even Lot's wife didn't make it.
19:41 Her heart was still right back there in that city.
19:46 These daughters that Lot has, they're not followers of God.
19:53 They don't understand because Lot is not taking the time
19:59 to have morning and evening worship with them and to
20:02 teach them, and so they don't understand and so they get there
20:06 in the cave and say what's going to happen to us?
20:08 Here we are in this cave, and we don't have any descendants,
20:13 what's going to happen to us?
20:14 And so they decided among themselves that they would
20:18 get their father drunk, and they would go in and sleep with him
20:24 and become pregnant, so they might have a descendant.
20:28 And so each one of those daughters got pregnant
20:35 by their father, and they had two sons, one's name was Moab
20:42 and the other's name was Ben-Ammi.
20:46 Those two sons became the fathers of two nations
20:57 the Moabites and the Ammonites, and those two fought against
21:05 Israel for years.
21:08 And dear friends, all I'm trying to show you tonight
21:11 is the result when we don't follow what God says
21:16 and we don't have enough time and we don't think it's
21:19 important enough to spend time taking our children before
21:24 the Lord morning and evening. that they might know the Lord.
21:30 Nothing, nothing is as important as doing this.
21:44 This is what God wants us to do. All your children shall be
21:50 taught of the Lord, and if we will take the time,
21:54 to teach them the Lord, it says great will be the peace of
22:00 you're children because they've got something to build on
22:03 they've got a foundation, they've got something
22:05 to place their belief in and where they stand given them.
22:11 The kind of foundation that they need.
22:14 I'm going to share with you tonight three statements
22:19 out of books, these are statements that to me
22:23 have great great meaning on this subject.
22:27 It says...By sincere, earnest prayer parents should make
22:33 a hedge about their children. Do you ever think about that?
22:37 That when you're praying, you're building a hedge around
22:40 your children? You don't want the devil to get in there
22:45 build a hedge around them, okay about their children.
22:48 They should pray with full faith that God will abide with them
22:53 and that holy angels will guard them and their children from
22:57 Satan's cruel power.
22:59 This is important.
23:12 In every family, there should be a fixed time for morning
23:17 and evening worship. If you don't do that,
23:21 you won't get it done.
23:24 Sorry! If you don't do that, you will not get it done.
23:31 You need to have a fixed time for morning and evening worship
23:37 and even then, I'll guarantee you, the Devil will do
23:42 everything he can to keep you from doing it.
23:45 Because there is too much here at stake and therefore
23:50 he fights it for all he can to make sure that
23:54 that doesn't happen, but in every home there should be
23:58 morning and evening worship. Now when they came to the
24:02 altar. Many times when they came they brought a sacrifice,
24:07 there could be a sacrifice brought for sins,
24:11 or there could be a sacrifice brought as a thank offering,
24:15 or there could be just a sacrifice as, free will offering.
24:18 They brought a sacrifice and offered it there on the altar
24:24 but it wasn't the only time, they came every morning
24:28 and every evening and worshipped together.
24:30 But today, what sacrifice do we bring?
24:35 We don't bring a lamb anymore, because Jesus Christ
24:42 was the lamb of God, so we don't need to bring a lamb.
24:45 So it says they brought a sacrifice,
24:48 are we to bring a sacrifice?
24:50 Well, I want you to listen cause these are the sacrifices
24:57 that you and I are supposed to bring every morning
25:01 and every evening.
25:18 In other words, you and I are aren't to present our bodies
25:22 as a living sacrifice to God. What does that mean?
25:29 That means each morning when I get up, I need to dedicate
25:37 my life to the Lord and give my life anew to Him every day.
25:43 Let me tell you something, there is no such thing as a person
25:48 getting up every day and fiving his life to the Lord
25:52 and doing that every day and that person missing heaven.
25:56 Impossible, that person who gets up and will give his life
26:02 to the Lord every day, that is what gets us ready
26:07 for the coming of Jesus Christ.
26:11 You remember Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego?
26:16 let me explain what it means by offering our bodies as a
26:20 Living Sacrifice.
26:22 Nebuchadnezzar had built this huge image out in the
26:26 plains of Dura, and he told them that they were to worship it.
26:30 And you remember he set up a band and everything
26:34 and told them when the music was to play, they were
26:36 to bow down and worship the image.
26:38 Well, they all bowed down except Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego
26:44 they didn't and Nebuchadnezzar called them in
26:57 Nebuchadnezzar called them in and said what's this I hear?
27:00 Have you ever thought about this?
27:02 Hm. You go back and read Daniel and I mean these men
27:08 had been promoted, they had been promoted by Nebuchadnezzar
27:12 until they were at the very top of the echelon.
27:15 I mean, they were the leaders of the country, and he had
27:21 treated them wonderful and here they're refusing to bow down
27:24 to his God. And he had told them, you can bow down
27:29 to my god or I'm going to throw you in the furnace.
27:33 And they said, we have no need to answer you in this matter.
27:54 Boy, that was not something you said to Nebuchadnezzar,
27:57 I mean that just isn't what you said to him.
28:01 But they said, you know, God's perfectly capable.
28:06 But if not, let it offer your body a living sacrifice.
28:22 They said even if He doesn't deliver us, we're not going to
28:26 worship your God, and I mean he said fire it up,
28:31 seven times hotter. It was so hot that it killed the guards
28:41 that threw them in.
28:42 And when Nebuchadnezzar looked in there, he said
28:46 didn't we throw three, didn't we throw three men in there?
28:51 I see four, I see one like the Son of God.
28:57 You see, you and I are to present our bodies as a
29:03 living sacrifice to God.
29:05 Psalm's 4:4, a great great text folks.
29:12 Meditate within your heart on your bed,
29:15 you know what that's saying? Before you get up in the morning
29:18 while you're still in bed, take a little time and talk
29:23 to the Lord, mediate to the Lord, and then it says,
29:26 be still, most of us don't listen to that, we may meditate
29:32 a little bit, but then we jump up. Quit it, lay there
29:35 a little bit, you might hear the Lord speak to you.
29:38 Offer the sacrifice of righteousness, what sacrifice?
29:47 Righteousness, that means, living a daily,
29:51 living a righteous life day by day and put your trust
29:56 in the Lord.
29:58 So, you and I should live for the Lord every day...
30:13 We are to offer a sacrifice of praise...when did you stop
30:18 the last time, and just praise the Lord?
30:20 When did you do that the last time?
30:24 No, I'm not talking about faking it, I'm talking about
30:28 praising Him, that is a sacrifice that you and I
30:32 are to bring to Him a sacrifice of praise,
30:35 that's something He tells us to do.
30:53 So it tells us we are to live, we are to offer our bodies
30:56 as a living sacrifice, we're to offer the sacrifice of
30:59 righteousness that we're to offer the sacrifice of praise,
31:03 that we're to offer the sacrifice of doing good,
31:06 and of sharing. These are sacrifices the you and I
31:09 are to bring to God day by day, It's what we're to do
31:15 in our worship of the Lord.
31:29 When's the last time you shouted?
31:32 You know, I really worry about this because I read when I
31:37 pick up my Bible, I read that there's going to be people
31:40 standing on the sea of glass and they're going to say
31:43 "Praise the Lord", Halleluiah, and this type of thing
31:46 and most of you folks don't even know those words.
31:49 That we need to shout the praises of God, that's part of our
31:58 what we're to do. This is part of praising God together.
32:10 God wants us to offer Him the sacrifice of Praise.
32:16 Well, lets' talk a little bit about family-worship.
32:20 because I'm sorry, there are parents that have family worship
32:28 that the kids can't hardly wait to get out of there.
32:32 And I want to talk about what it's to be what we're supposed
32:39 to do as far as family worship is concerned, how God wants us
32:43 to conduct it. So to begin with family worship
32:48 should be happy, put it down, it should be happy.
32:53 If you got up on the wrong side of the bed,
32:55 get back and get out on the other side.
32:58 You should not come down to family worship in a sour mood
33:06 you and I need to be happy, the children should find us
33:12 happy in our relationship to God and so make sure
33:17 the family worship is a joyful place, happy,
33:22 secondly, it should be interesting, and that means
33:27 you need to take just a little bit of time to make it
33:31 interesting. Don't let it be an afterthought.
33:35 Take some time to think about it and make it interesting
33:39 for the children, you need to do that.
33:42 Thirdly. It needs to be sacred, and I have to be very careful
33:48 here because this is kind of a hobby horse with me.
33:51 It's to be sacred, don't make it common, I'm sorry but we live
33:57 in an age today that they don't understand the difference
34:00 between common and sacred.
34:02 That worship needs to be a sacred time, and they should
34:07 understand that, and it should have that presence to it
34:11 and not just make it common, that is not what it's to be.
34:15 Four. Is to be short, it's not the time when you are going to
34:22 give an exegesis on something, it's to be short, not long
34:28 and it should have all those elements in it.
34:30 It should be happy, it should be interesting,
34:32 and it should be sacred, but it should be short
34:34 and finally, it should be spirited, it should move
34:40 don't drag it along.
34:42 These are things that family worship is to be folks,
34:47 and you and I just need to take the time to make sure that
34:51 our family worship is that.
34:53 I'll guarantee you that if your family worship
35:02 has those elements in it, every morning and every evening
35:06 the children will gladly come to it, gladly come to it.
35:11 Okay. That's family worship.
35:15 Let's look at one other aspect,
35:21 You know, they used incense they had sensors, and they waved
35:25 sensors and the smoke went up and out of the sensor and all.
35:28 What does that have to do with us today?
35:31 Okay, what is the incense that they used back then,
35:38 how is it represented today?
35:40 Well, this is what it tells us.
35:58 That incense today is your prayers, and that when you and I
36:05 pray, that is mixed with incense and it comes up before the Lord,
36:10 it even says this, folks.
36:23 So, it says that the angels take your prayers
36:27 in their hands and present them before God as incense.
36:31 Never, never, never does your prayers not come up before God.
36:38 People say well, my prayers don't get to the ceiling,
36:41 no, they don't, they go clear to heaven.
36:42 They're taken there in the hands of the angels
36:46 and presented before God, that's what the incense represents
36:51 and is to be.
36:53 Martin Luther nailed 95 thesis on the door of the
37:00 Church of Wittenberg, but Martin Luther said this.
37:09 Dear friend, when you are so busy and you feel like you
37:14 just don't have time, pray a little more,
37:18 you'll find that you'll get a whole lot more done,
37:21 a whole lot more accomplished if you just pray more.
37:26 Very important.
37:28 From these homes, this is another statement,
37:32 I told you I was going to give you three.
37:46 It says that your prayer comes up before God like sweet
37:51 incense and God pours out His blessings upon you
37:56 as morning dew.
37:58 That's what He does for each one of us, He blesses in a
38:03 very special way.
38:05 Jim and Pam Rhodes, that help us and sing many times
38:12 in our meetings, Jim and Pam were both teachers and
38:16 taught for a number of years Pam tells a story
38:20 of a little boy by the name of Bobby, they came
38:24 on the first day of school and walked into the room
38:26 and he was every teacher's nightmare,
38:30 Bobby could not sit down, he could not shut up,
38:36 he was just uncontrollable, getting into trouble
38:41 with the kids all the time and Pam is very much in her
38:46 classroom, a disciplinarian, and so she said to herself,
38:50 just give us a few days and we'll get Bobby in shape...
38:55 Well, the days went along it didn't get Bobby
39:00 in shape, it got Pam out of shape. [Laughter]
39:03 Now you know, she didn't know what to do with the boy
39:08 and so she went and got her child psychology books
39:12 and all the things that she had in school and went back
39:16 and started reading them and seeing if she could figure out
39:18 what in the world she could do to help this boy.
39:22 But nothing, I mean nothing she did would help him.
39:27 She went to the other teachers in the school and talked to them
39:31 and asked them for advice nobody could seem to find
39:35 any kind of an answer to help him.
39:37 Andy finally distraught, at home, she was praying
39:43 and she was praying to the Lord about Bobby
39:47 and the Lord said to her, Pam, you haven't tried Me.
39:52 And she said, forgive me, Lord, and the next morning
39:57 when she was there and Bobby came every morning early
40:02 to school. And she was sitting at her desk, and Bobby came
40:06 in and walked up to her desk and she said to him,
40:10 she said Bobby, would you like to pray with me?
40:13 And he said yes, teacher, I'd like to pray with you
40:16 and they went over to a place that was quiet
40:20 and they knelt there and prayed.
40:23 And she said, Bobby, if you'll come every morning
40:27 we'll pray together, and he said okay, teacher.
40:31 And every morning when he came he would come, and they would
40:35 pray together and mornings when she was busy
40:38 he'd pull on her skirt and say teacher, we need to pray
40:41 and they'd go over and pray and she said it wasn't
40:44 it wasn't a month or two it was just a matter of days
40:49 and all of a sudden, Bobby sat in his seat longer
40:54 and he didn't talk out loud like he used to
40:58 and he didn't have trouble with the students like he had before.
41:02 He began to change, and she said one day, his mother came to school
41:12 the mother came into the room and said, are you praying
41:15 with my boy? And Pam said yes, I am
41:19 and she said he came home the other day and said to me
41:24 Mother, will you pray with me like Ms. Rose does?
41:28 Jesus is my best friend and she said, so we started praying
41:34 we prayed together, and he said to his dad,
41:38 could we go to church, and she said, now our whole family
41:43 goes to church, says it's changed our whole lives.
41:47 Oh dear friend, if we just take our children
41:50 and take them to the Lord, it'd change their lives
41:54 make us totally different, we just need to spend
41:57 time with them.
41:59 Great, great statement once you listen to it.
42:06 Listen to this.
42:07 Morning and evening the heavenly universe
42:10 takes notice of every praying household.
42:15 Morning and evening, the heavenly Universe
42:21 takes notice of every praying household, how important
42:28 that is. So, I would say to you mothers, fathers,
42:35 gather your family around you ask God to bless each one
42:42 plead for the sweet Holy Spirit to guide you till day's
42:49 work is done, and then when the long day's ended, gather around
42:54 once more to thank God for keeping His promise and
43:01 praise Him, for He is the Lord.
43:04 Let us pray.
43:06 Father in Heaven, as we have looked what the shows
43:16 of the importance of spending time with our families in worship
43:24 and oh Lord, we realize and we know how the devil
43:28 fights this and how he does everything to keep us
43:33 from having it. We ask Lord that we may learn to commit
43:40 our lives to you that you can handle the circumstances
43:45 that you can bring good out of any situation, and we pray
43:51 that we might turn it over to you, Lord,
43:53 that You might have Your way in our lives forgive us
43:59 forgive us where we have failed. Where we've not done
44:04 what we should have and help us to depend upon You
44:10 to realize that you are able to guide and direct
44:16 and may we have the privilege not because you are worthy
44:21 that we may have the privilege of having our families with us
44:26 in Your kingdom because of what Jesus Christ has done
44:31 for each one of us. For this, we ask in His name.
44:37 Amen.
44:38 Our next presentation is entitled "Bless This House"
44:46 and the Lord just simply says that there are certain things
44:53 that if you and I will do them, that He will bless our home.
44:59 And folks, as you read through the book, He promised it
45:04 over and over and over to the children of Israel
45:08 and when they did it, He blessed them wonderfully.
45:15 And He'll do the same for you and for me, if we will just
45:18 fulfill what God asked us to do.
45:22 So come to our next presentation those who join us by television
45:27 as we take a look at "Bless This House."
45:31 Good Night, God Bless You.
45:32 Although they are small and seemingly insignificant
45:38 Soybean pods fill the farm fields of the United States
45:41 What a treasure they are for the farmer at harvest time.
45:46 Nearly all soybeans in this country is processed
45:50 for their oil, which is then refined for their cooking
45:53 or sold for biodiesel production as well as for many other
45:57 industrial uses because of the high demand for soybeans.
46:01 A farmer must be able to harvest large quantities
46:05 in the most efficient and cost effective manner.
46:08 One of the best ways to do this is to use a
46:11 combine harvester. These massive machines give the farmer
46:16 the ability to quickly harvest and haul the beans at
46:20 an incredible rate. Have you ever considered what
46:23 one farmer can do today with the help of modern tools?
46:26 The farmer of the past cold hardly imagine it
46:29 within hours, one man and machine could harvest and deliver
46:34 untold bushel of soybeans to the market.
46:37 His goal is to attain the largest yield possible
46:41 at harvest time. Like the farmer today, we must do the same.
46:46 In Luke 10 and verse two, Jesus said the harvest
46:50 truly is great, but the laborers are few.
46:53 And in John 45, He looked over the wheat fields and said to His
46:58 disciples, lift up your eyes and look at the fields
47:01 for they are already white for harvest.
47:04 In both passages, Jesus referred to men and women of this
47:08 world as He proclaimed that the harvest is here and the work
47:13 must be done.
47:14 When I was a boy, the corn harvest was all done by hand
47:19 we literally had a horse-drawn wagon, and we would walk
47:23 along the side and pull the corn off the stalk
47:26 and throw it onto the wagon.
47:27 But folks, the time is short so the Lord has provided
47:32 the most marvelous technology to enable us to harvest more
47:36 souls through television, radio and other media.
47:40 Today, we can take the message to the multitudes around
47:43 the world at the speed of light. Such ability was far beyond
47:48 the imagination of the evangelist of the past.
47:52 The harvest is here, but we can't do it without you,
47:58 won't you help us?
48:00 Please consider what you can do who still don't know about
48:03 Jesus. As the Holy Spirit impresses, please send your
48:06 Tax-deductible gifts to:
48:19 Thank you for helping us spread the light of God's Word through
48:22 television and radio. Your gifts help bring the blessed hope
48:25 of salvation to millions around the world.
