I asked right before we went on the air 01:01 how many people are from out of state 01:04 and most everybody in here was... There's a lot more 01:07 so y'all could take over right now. 01:09 So more from many other states then there are here from... 01:12 from southern Illinois. But the folks that are closest 01:15 they always come the latest. You know how that goes. 01:17 But we're so glad that you all are here 01:19 and that you do this. Years ago we... we had one Camp Meeting. 01:24 But people said: "Man, this is so good! 01:26 Why don't we have a Fall Camp Meeting? " 01:28 So the only reason we do it is because of you: 01:30 for those of you who want to come out and be here 01:33 and participate and be a part of this. 01:35 It's a lot of work; it's a lot of effort; 01:37 it's a lot of organizing... a lot of finances to do it. 01:40 But it's worth it to have you here so we can 01:43 talk and share and love each other. 01:46 And it's a good time to do it in preparation for when we get 01:49 to heaven and we spend eternity with friends and loved ones 01:53 and with, of course, Jesus Christ Himself. 01:56 And today it's my privilege to do the introductions. 02:01 I'm going to introduce in just a moment my brother 02:03 Kenny... Kenny Shelton. He's founder and director, 02:07 speaker of Behold the Lamb Ministries. 02:10 And Kenny was one of the... When we started 3ABN 02:13 in the very beginning he was there with me. 02:15 And we went out and physically dug the footings 02:19 and poured the footings by hand and built the buildings 02:22 along with my brother Ronnie and even Tommy and some of us. 02:25 We built the first building out a couple miles north of here. 02:28 So Kenny's been a blessing in my life for so many years. 02:31 And then right before Kenny comes out to preach to us 02:36 my baby sister - the only sister I have 02:39 out of five of us. But my baby sister Tammy Chance 02:42 is going to be singing for us. And I think Tim Parton is 02:45 going to play. I always enjoy... You enjoy Tim's music? 02:48 And enjoy Tim's music. 02:50 She's going to be doing It Took A Miracle. Beautiful song! 02:54 So right now as they come out to sing 02:56 and then right after that my brother Kenny will be preaching 02:59 to you all. 03:08 My Father is omnipotent, 03:13 on that you can rely; 03:17 A God of might and miracles... 03:23 it's written in the sky. 03:29 It took a miracle 03:34 to hang the stars in space. 03:40 It took a miracle 03:44 to hang the world in space; 03:49 But when He saved my soul, 03:55 cleansed and made me whole, 04:02 It took a miracle 04:07 of love and grace. 04:21 The Bible tells us of His pow'r 04:26 And witness all way thru, 04:31 And every little 04:35 bird and flower 04:37 are testimonies too. 04:44 It took a miracle 04:50 to put the stars in space. 04:56 It took a miracle 05:01 to hang the world in place; 05:06 But when He saved my soul, 05:13 cleansed and made me whole, 05:20 it took a miracle 05:25 of love 05:27 and grace... 05:32 It took a miracle 05:37 of love 05:41 and 05:43 grace. 05:52 Amen; amen. It did take a miracle. 05:56 It still takes a miracle. Tammy, come give me a hug. 05:59 She's one of my favorite singers. 06:00 I cannot tell you how many times 06:03 I've been blessed just even going down the road 06:06 listening to 3ABN and she'll come on. 06:08 I've always said, several times I've called her and said: 06:11 "Tammy, I love that song! " 06:13 They're prejudiced. 06:16 You know, I do love my family. 06:18 What a gift of God! 06:20 What a gift of God: Danny, Yvonne, 06:22 all of the Shelton family. 06:25 I'm just so thankful to even have married into this family. 06:28 It took a miracle for that, didn't it? 06:31 We have been so blessed! You know, every time I hear 06:35 a message I'm thinking: "I hope this person's listening; 06:38 I hope that person's listening. " 06:39 "I need to get a copy of that; we need to share it. " 06:42 You need to leave this Camp Meeting just loaded 06:45 with information to give away. 06:48 We need not keep this to our- selves... it's gotta be spread. 06:52 Amen. There's so many people that are being lost 06:54 over the same issues that have been presented here 06:57 at this Camp Meeting. And I know for one 06:59 I have truly been blessed. Amen! 07:01 I pray that we'll be blessed again as my husband 07:04 preaches and give this message. 07:05 So if you would, you're welcome to kneel with us. 07:08 Otherwise, we're going to kneel and you can pray with us, OK? 07:16 Most gracious heavenly Father, as we humbly kneel 07:19 before You Father, I lift up Kenny. 07:22 I lift up this vessel. He's weak so often 07:26 but we realize that You are so strong; 07:30 that Your Spirit is so loving, so kind. 07:33 And it does take a miracle to indwell in our hearts. 07:37 Father, I pray that You will take complete control 07:40 of his mind, his thoughts, his tongue. 07:43 May we no longer see him 07:45 but hear Your Spirit, Your voice speaking to us. 07:49 We give You all the praise, the honor, and the glory 07:51 here this morning. In Jesus' name, Amen. Amen! 07:59 Praise the Lord! It's good to be together, isn't it? Amen! 08:02 Study the Word, and God has been blessing the Camp Meeting. 08:05 And we know He's going to continue to bless. 08:08 I hope you brought your Bibles with you. 08:10 You know, this is Camp Meeting. 08:11 It's time to get into the Word of God, isn't it? 08:14 We're going to talk about today if you've noticed 08:16 maybe your bulletin that you have, it says 08:18 Identity Crisis. 08:20 Identity Crisis. 08:22 So this is something that we need to just look at 08:26 very carefully here this morning... this afternoon... 08:29 and try to figure by the grace of God 08:34 are we having an identity crisis? 08:37 And what does that really mean? 08:39 I wonder how many... If I start with a question: 08:41 I wonder how many have ever gone through an identity crisis? 08:45 Well, we don't know just yet, do we? 08:48 You know? So I may try to explain just a little bit 08:51 of what identity crisis is. What is it? The word identity 08:56 meaning a condition - notice - and fact of being... 09:00 of being some specific person or thing. 09:04 And notice this: and to join or maybe associate 09:09 closely with. So we're looking at an identity 09:13 and of course identify is a word closely related to that. 09:17 So as we look at this today we'd say: "Well identity what? " 09:20 Identity crisis. 09:22 What is a crisis? Well, according to the dictionary 09:24 it says: "a turning point in the course of anything; 09:29 a critical situation. " 09:32 Is it possible we're in a critical situation 09:35 and maybe not even know it? 09:37 Maybe we've gone through an identity crisis 09:40 something in your life and we'll look at that 09:42 a little closer as we go. 09:44 Because you may be a person who thought you had it all together. 09:48 You thought you had things working out. 09:50 There was a plan. Everything was going to work just exactly 09:52 the way you had it planned out 09:54 and then all of a sudden something happened. 09:56 They call it a crisis maybe happened in your life. 10:02 I've met people who say: "I've got it all together. " 10:04 I know you're not one of those kind of people. 10:09 I've got it all together. We're working by the grace of God. 10:12 But they found out... remember they didn't really have it 10:14 together you begin to understand some things that you didn't 10:18 understand before. New light maybe... something going on. 10:22 The conversation that's happening... but something is 10:25 changed and you know that it's changed. 10:28 So I think it's an important topic today 10:31 for us to really look closely at this. 10:35 You're at a crossroads and you have to make a decision. 10:39 You're not sure what to believe and what not to believe. 10:44 And so as you look at the issues and the things that are going on 10:48 sometimes we become a little bit confused. 10:50 There are many causes of an identity crisis. 10:55 We won't go into all of those. 10:57 There are many signs of identity crisis. 11:01 But maybe many are going through it today 11:03 and they're just not sure 11:05 if that's really what's taking place. 11:08 I want to just condense it down because of our time. 11:11 Two quick things: spiritual crisis. 11:14 Is it possible we could have a spiritual crisis? 11:17 And another one is one maybe not too many people are familiar 11:20 with: legitimation crisis. 11:25 You might be having a legitimation crisis. 11:27 You say: "Well, I'm not sure what that is 11:28 so I don't know if I'm having it or not. " 11:30 Let me just kind of define both. Spiritual crisis: number one. 11:35 It's also called a spiritual emergency. 11:39 See, I believe we're living in an emergency time 11:42 of earth's history. Something needs to be done. 11:44 Some lights need to be turned on. 11:46 Some trumpets need to be sounded. 11:48 So we're in that time. 11:50 This is a form of identity crisis 11:54 where an individual experiences drastic changes 11:58 taking place in their life. 12:00 Let me just give you a couple examples of that... 12:02 the meaning. They're having a crisis 12:05 over, you know, some unique purpose. 12:07 They're just not really sure. 12:09 Their goals have been challenged; their values 12:11 have been challenged... their attitude. 12:14 It could even be your beliefs. 12:18 Now let's look at legitimation crisis. 12:20 It's an identity crisis that re- sults from a loss of confidence. 12:25 You may have lost confidence in something. 12:27 Have you ever lost confidence in something? 12:29 Probably all of us have been through that. 12:32 But just listen through what I'm talking about here. 12:35 I think it will make sense to us. 12:37 We may have lost confidence in administrative function. 12:42 It could be you've lost confidence in leadership. 12:47 You could have lost confidence in the place where you work. 12:51 You could have lost confidence in where you buy a car. 12:54 You could have lost confidence in maybe a team that you 12:57 root for. But in this kind of a crisis 13:02 you notice it's the kind of crisis that public attitude 13:05 is always considered. 13:08 Now that may sound a little bit heavy, but I think it's worth 13:11 looking at. Now... this being said 13:13 if I ask you again: "Has anyone here ever gone through 13:16 an identity crisis? " some of you might answer differently 13:20 at least in your mind than you did to begin with 13:23 because we see that a lot of things are taking place 13:26 whether they be good or bad. 13:28 And so we need some answers. 13:30 If there be any merit in this today, 13:34 then God would have us to listen closely. 13:36 Then He would have us to follow what He says in His Word. 13:40 I believe this: the enemy has a plan. Don't you? 13:42 We know he has a plan. 13:44 This may be one plan that we've maybe not been looking at 13:47 as a movement - as SDA Christians. 13:51 Now I'm here to uphold our doctrines and our teachings 13:55 in Seventh-day Adventism. 13:57 I realize some things that are going on 13:59 this may be not pleasing to many. 14:01 We realize some changes need to be made. 14:03 But I'm here to encourage us if we're Seventh-day Adventists 14:06 it's time that we stood up 14:07 and that we spoke as Seventh-day Adventists. 14:10 That we live like Seventh-day Adventists 14:12 and not to be ashamed of the name. 14:16 Not to be ashamed of this gospel. We know that. 14:19 The devil's plan, at least in my opinion, 14:21 he does not want the name even Seventh-day Adventist 14:25 to be heard. He doesn't want anything to be seen 14:29 that says about Seventh-day Adventists 14:31 and what we believe and so on and so forth. 14:33 He's trying to hide this name Seventh-day Adventist. 14:38 And if anyone sees or hears about Seventh-day Adventism, 14:43 about giving the real three angels' messages to the world, 14:46 the devil wants it to fall on sleepy ears. 14:50 He wants it to fall on those who just maybe won't, 14:53 you know, do anything about it... 14:55 just continue on as we are doing. 14:57 Deaf ears... it's not a time for deaf ears. 15:00 It's too close to the end of time that Jesus is coming. 15:03 Our ears need to be open! 15:05 And so, if someone hears about Seventh-day Adventism, 15:09 you know, the devil says: "We need to malign that 15:13 message. If we can't do that, we need to malign the speaker. " 15:18 "We need to work so people will not hear it. " 15:20 "Make it appear that something is not right; something has gone 15:24 haywire. " Well... he wants us to think 15:29 that there is... be careful... he wants us to think 15:32 that there is no difference in us or our message 15:36 from the rest of the world. 15:37 I beg to differ with the enemy today. 15:39 There IS a difference in our message. 15:42 There is a difference in us as a people. 15:46 There SHOULD BE! 15:48 If we look like the world and we act like the world, 15:50 then we are the world. 15:51 There must be a difference here. 15:53 The devil says: "Let's downplay this message. " 15:56 "Let's downplay who we are. " 15:59 Huh! "Let's just try to find a lot of things in common 16:02 with everybody else. " 16:04 "Let's just try to fit in with everybody else. " 16:07 We do not fit in with everybody else. Amen! 16:11 Now that may just be my own personal opinion. 16:13 You draw your own. 16:15 We do not fit in with everybody else! 16:19 Could the enemy's plan be working and we just 16:22 don't even know it? Could he work silently? 16:25 You know, he's subtle sometimes. We realize that. 16:28 He wants us to think that the world, they're going to like us. 16:32 That the world is going to love us. 16:35 That the world is going to respect us and the message 16:38 that we are giving. Don't fool yourself. 16:43 Look how people loved Jesus when He walked this earth. 16:47 Hmm. But in order for this to take place: 16:51 to be kind of like the world, to tone things down a little bit, 16:56 that we need to be a little bit different than we are. 17:01 Our message needs to be a little different 17:03 than was given to us. 17:05 We need to change just a little bit. 17:07 See, I've heard this a lot over the years: 17:09 "We need to change things up just a little bit. " 17:13 "We need to be a little bit different than we are 17:16 because we need to be accepted by others in the world. " 17:21 I wonder how Jesus responded 17:26 when He was calling sin by its right name. 17:30 I wonder how He really responded. 17:34 I wonder how He responded when maybe He was encouraged 17:38 to just "fit in. " 17:40 Don't make a racket... don't make any noise. 17:44 Don't dare to be different. 17:46 Huh... I wonder what Jesus would say 17:50 when they would say: "Tone it down; don't do anything 17:54 that might upset someone. " 17:57 Do you realize the message that you have to give to the world 17:59 if a person is not ready to re- ceive it is going to upset them? 18:03 They're not going to like it; they're not going to love it. 18:06 They don't want to hear it 18:08 but we are still to give that message. 18:10 Are we now or have we ever been in an identity crisis 18:14 in our movement? I love the movement. 18:19 I realize there's issues. 18:21 Don't anybody take that: "You know, everything's 18:23 wonderful and hunky-dory. " 18:27 I love the Seventh-day Adventist message. 18:31 It's important... it's life-and-death issue. 18:35 And so are we to be ashamed of it? 18:38 Let's just expose quickly one of the little things 18:40 that the enemy has, you know, that he wants to... 18:43 He wants to even downplay the name of Seventh-day Adventist. 18:46 He wants to downplay it. 18:50 And some have suggested that we change it just a little bit. 18:55 They've suggested that we blend in with others. 19:00 You know, the only thing I find when you say "blend" 19:02 that means you're not 100%. 19:04 Somebody's not with me. 19:06 When you go to blending things together that means 19:08 it's not 100%. 19:10 I'm not in for blending God's message. 19:13 We're not to blend in... 19:16 we're to stand out. 19:22 Some people will say: "Well we need to blend in 19:24 because as soon as you mention SDA a wall goes up. 19:29 People turn a deaf ear. " 19:34 What should we really do? 19:36 First of all, you know, I believe this: first of all 19:38 God gave us the name Seventh-day Adventist. 19:42 We're not to be ashamed of that. 19:45 We mumble it sometimes when people say: "What church 19:48 do you go to? " Hm-mm-mm-mm. 19:50 Really? 19:52 You ask a Baptist or Church of God or Pentecostal 19:55 they'll say: "I'm Pentecostal! " 19:57 "I go to Assembly of God! " 20:02 You see what I'm talking about here? 20:05 They speak up but we mumble sometimes 20:10 because we're not like the other denominations. 20:16 But people say, "Well we need to be here. " 20:19 God gave us that name. 20:21 We are not to change it, tone it down, throw it out. 20:25 We are to elevate it. 20:28 Let me just read just a quick quote here. 20:30 Letter 110, 1902, these words were penned. 20:32 I'm going to move as quickly as we can. 20:34 Notice these words: 20:35 "We are Seventh-day Adventists! " 20:39 Some of you love it... the rest of you are not convinced yet. 20:43 We are Seventh-day Adventists! Amen! That's it! 20:46 That's it... that's what we are! 20:48 That's what we're to stand for today. 20:50 We are Seventh-day Adventists. 20:52 Notice this... and then she goes on to say: 20:55 "Are we ashamed of our name? " 20:57 What's the answer? You've read it. 21:00 "No! No! We are not! It is the name the Lord has given us. 21:05 It points out... " Notice... "the truth that is to be 21:09 the test of the churches. " 21:12 What? It points out the truth that will be the test 21:15 of the churches. Somebody needs to stand for truth. 21:18 Amen! Somebody needs not to be hiding around 21:20 with this truth. It needs to stand high 21:22 and lifted up in the world that we live in today. 21:25 I'm thankful that we can do that today here at 3ABN... 21:28 can lift up the truth of God. Amen! 21:30 Where have we come from? Where are we going? 21:34 When will you stand up? When will I stand up for 21:36 what we know is truth? 21:39 We know a lot of changes are taking place. 21:42 There've been some good ones and there've been some bad ones. 21:44 But do we... can we still recognize 21:48 this movement today? 21:50 If you've been in it a long time can you recognize it? 21:56 And we realize there's changes that need to take place 21:58 but never our message. 22:01 Never our message! 22:02 People who try to find problems with our message 22:04 end up going somewhere else to church. 22:08 The message is on target. 22:10 You may have issues in other areas, 22:12 but the message is there. 22:14 We need to embrace that message. 22:18 Let me just read quickly here a couple things. 22:21 1 Manuscript 53. 22:23 This was written in 1906 22:26 and from let's say 1844 this was sixty-some years. 22:29 Notice what it says. It says: "Light from God 22:32 established the main points of our faith 22:35 as we hold them today. " 22:37 When this was written: over 60 years we're looking back 22:41 and saying: "The message that God gives is still good today. " 22:45 So why are we trying to mess with it? 22:48 Why are we trying to change things around just a little bit 22:50 to get along with the world or other faiths? 22:54 Remember: change comes subtly a little bit at a time. 23:00 And it's not long before we cannot identify 23:03 it any more. 23:07 Interesting. Letter 277 written in 1904. 23:11 Sixty years after the message God had given us. 23:14 It says: "The platform of eternal truth 23:18 which since 1844 has stood the test... " 23:22 The message God gave this church has stood the test of time. 23:28 The more you put the acid to it the more it shines brightly! 23:33 It's good... so why are we trying to mess with it? 23:37 We shouldn't! Letter 24... 1907. 23:41 Again, over 60 years. Notice, it says: 23:44 "We have not had to tear up our foundation 23:47 and put in new timbers. " 23:50 So why are we trying to put in some new timbers? 23:52 We don't need to put in new timbers. 23:54 The message does not need to be changed. 23:56 It does not need to be toned down. 23:58 It does not need to be watered down. 23:59 It needs to be given with the power of the Holy Spirit, 24:02 you see, that will equip us to go out 24:05 by the power of the Holy Spirit for the Latter Rain 24:07 and give the message the way that God gave it! 24:10 Somebody comes up to me and says: "We don't give it 24:11 the way God gave it" they're talking to the wrong guy. 24:15 And now they're talking to the wrong people, right? 24:17 You KNOW what God has given. 24:18 That's the way we are to give it. 24:21 No changes. Identity crisis reminds me 24:25 of a story. During a tour bus... They were taking a tour bus 24:29 trip - some passengers - and all of a sudden a passenger 24:31 was reported missing. The police were called in. 24:34 "Oh my! Somebody's missing from the bus. 24:37 We can't have this; we've got to find out who it is. " 24:39 And so a search and rescue party was sent out. 24:42 Over 50 people were involved. 24:43 A helicopter was sent in to look 24:46 and they said: "We've got to find this woman. " 24:47 About 12 hours later the search was called off. 24:52 Why was the search called off? 24:55 The authorities finally realized after twelve hours 24:59 the missing woman wasn't really missing. 25:02 Well, how could she be a missing person? 25:05 She wasn't really missing. 25:07 In fact, she had been a member of the search party! 25:14 Let me tell you: things can get confusing. 25:16 If you listen to the story and you apply some principle to it, 25:21 what happened? Well it seems they made a stop, 25:23 the bus made a stop. The lady got out - 25:25 everybody knew who she was - 25:27 and she went in to freshen up just a little bit. Hmm. 25:31 Put on a little different clothes and a different face 25:34 and when she came back no one recognized her. 25:40 Are you still with me? 25:43 All of the people on the bus were confused. 25:46 They just assumed she had gotten lost 25:48 and we need to find this woman. 25:50 One person said: "Why her identity changed 25:55 and we thought something must have happened to her. " 25:58 Hmm... something changed. 26:02 Chief of police told the reporters... 26:06 he said: "It was all a mistake! " 26:08 It was all a mistake 26:11 which only came to light when it dawned on the woman 26:16 and the description they were giving of the lost woman 26:20 it was her. "Well that fits my description! " 26:24 "I'm not really lost. " 26:27 "I'm covered up a little bit; I'm a little different. " 26:32 "Huh! They were looking for me and I was looking for myself! " 26:35 "Huh! " 26:40 "I knew that description of this woman bore a remarkable 26:43 resemblance to me! " 26:46 Man... how could that be? 26:47 In our life today how could that be? 26:49 In our church how could that be among us? 26:53 That we're standing there and still there but we've changed 26:56 our face just a little bit... 26:58 put on a little different clothes. 27:00 We just walk just a little bit different 27:05 and we got lost. 27:09 We must never forget who we are. 27:13 Never forget who we are as a people. 27:15 Never forget our mission; never forget our calling. 27:20 Never get lost and become like everyone else. 27:24 Just maybe cleaning the outside 27:27 and forget about cleaning the inside. 27:29 We need both. 27:31 If we're going to be what God wants us to be, 27:33 there needs to be a power washing going on. 27:38 And that can be a little bit painful 27:40 if you've ever had a power washer and you get... OK. 27:45 See, God's Word never suffers identity crisis, does it? 27:50 It never! You say: "Well I don't know? " Does it? No! 27:53 Because Hebrews 13:8 says He's the same yesterday, 27:57 today, and forever. " 27:59 Never an identity crisis. We understand that. 28:03 Malachi 3:6: "We serve a God who changes... " What? 28:06 "who changes not. " 28:08 So something must be going on. 28:11 It's not God; it's not the message that we have. 28:14 It's the people... it's us. 28:18 No changing of the pillars of our faith! 28:22 Amen! 28:23 No changing of what? The pillars of our faith. 28:27 What? There's some people getting off of the platform. 28:29 They're going down and they're just checking out the pillars. 28:33 And in these pillars there's like pegs and pins. 28:36 If you have scaffolding, you understand what I mean 28:38 when you put one section on top of another. 28:39 Put some little pins in there for safety. 28:41 Someone takes those pins out, what happens? 28:44 The scaffolding goes down. 28:46 We have to be very careful because we're told 28:48 not one peg or pin is to be removed. 28:51 So why is somebody removing? 28:53 And maybe a bigger question is: 28:54 why are we allowing them to move? 28:57 Why are we allowing them to pull those things out? 29:00 Why are we allowing them to change things? 29:02 Maybe they have a bigger mouth than me or you? 29:06 Maybe they think they have more clout. 29:10 But the Holy Spirit can use one person. 29:12 And every time we see an untruth, somebody removing 29:15 a peg or pin from the Advent movement, we're to stand up 29:17 and say: "Unh-uh... this is what God's Word says. " 29:21 We need to be giving this message: the faith that once was 29:25 delivered to the saints. Don't you like that? 29:28 That's what we need to do. Jude 3. 29:30 God's Word what? Never suffers identity... 29:34 never suffers identity crisis. 29:39 God's Word is there for us. 29:43 Manuscript 129, 1905, says this. 29:46 In 1905 this was written. Listen carefully: 29:48 "Every truth that He has given for these last days... " 29:52 Listen: "Every truth that He has given for these... " What? 29:55 "these last days. " Are we in the last days? 29:57 We hear it all the time but do you believe it? 29:59 If we believed it we would be saying: "Look! " 30:02 We talk about Bro. Danny get up here saying: 30:04 "We've got these books... Ten Commandments books. 30:06 They need to go out to the world. " Not just here in one 30:09 state or another. ALL the states! 30:11 If we really believed it, we'd be getting into the piggybank 30:14 a little bit. We'd quit sitting on all this stuff 30:17 and give it to unbelieving children. 30:18 OK... you know what I'm talking about. 30:21 You'd get behind this thing and you'd get this message 30:24 out because it is the message of the hour. 30:28 We need that! "Every truth that He has given 30:32 for these last days must be proclaimed. " 30:35 Did you get that? 30:37 "We cannot step off now of that foundation 30:42 that God has established. " 30:44 God has established what? 30:46 A foundation. And we cannot step off it 30:48 because every point has been established in the Word of God! 30:51 You've got something my brothers and sisters! 30:54 There'll be others who complain and say: No, we've got this. " 30:56 You've got something! 30:58 You've got the truth of God's Word. 31:00 He's given it to His last-day people. 31:02 And you say: "I'm an Adventist; God's called me to give this 31:05 message to the world. " If we try to remove, 31:09 water down, there are consequences. 31:13 There are consequences and there'll be a price to pay. 31:17 God help us that we stand fast for the truth. 31:21 And some will say: "Oh, well we've never... " 31:23 "In Adventism or in my... we've never had an identity crisis. " 31:27 Oh there's been... ever since this movement has begun 31:30 there's been crisis. Are you still with me? 31:33 Doesn't mean it's all wrong... everybody's doing their thing. 31:35 There have been things that went on that shouldn't go on. 31:38 The enemy is attacking the remnant church as we well know. 31:41 According to one professor in theology, even 1993... 31:46 this is kind of current there in Ministry Magazine 31:48 he said: "Seventh-day Adventism is experiencing 31:51 an identity crisis. " Are you still there? 31:56 There nothing wrong with looking at the facts 31:58 and then saying: "If there be, we need to change it up! 32:00 We need to get it right. " 32:02 That's what Romans 12 says you know... we need to prove 32:04 what is good and acceptable, the will of God. 32:07 Isn't that what Romans tells us? 32:10 Chapter 12:2? 32:11 We need - I believe this - the power of the Holy Spirit 32:15 in a very special way 32:16 to take complete control of us. 32:20 Mind, soul, body... the complete man. 32:23 And when that is done the fruits of the Spirit 32:26 are going to show. 32:27 We're not going to be playing church any more. 32:28 We're not just going to be going and saying: "Well, I don't feel 32:31 anything. Well I don't know, I'm just going to be going. " 32:33 SOMEBODY needs to get on fire! 32:34 SOMEBODY needs to be set on fire by the power of the Holy Spirit 32:38 to realize you are important. God has a job for you to do 32:40 and we need to get to that job. 32:43 We DARE to be different! Amen! 32:47 We DARE to be different! 32:50 We cannot hide right now. 32:52 If you've been hiding under the covers as it were, 32:55 come on out! 32:56 You've been hiding what God has given you? Come on out! 33:02 But we can't hide these beautiful truths in order to be 33:05 accepted by others. 33:08 Not accepted by the world 33:10 or those who believe another message. 33:12 "Well, we want to get along with them 33:13 so we're going to have to you know get things in common 33:15 and we're going to have to work things out 33:17 till we all get along. " 33:18 Give the message that God has given this church 33:20 to give to the world: that's your job, that's my job. 33:24 And I want to do that; I want to be faithful in that 33:26 and I know you do, too. 33:30 We must not ever forget. There's many problems 33:34 that have come up without the church and within the church. 33:39 Is somebody still there? Amen! 33:42 And not be so bullish 33:45 that we will not recognize this fact. 33:48 We have to recognize it in order by God's grace 33:51 to do something about it. 33:53 Listen to this paragraph and decide if anyone's trying 33:55 to tone things down a little bit. 33:56 I don't like to tone things down. 33:59 I like things black and white. 34:00 I like: "This is what it says and that's it! " 34:03 instead of trying to pick it to pieces. 34:07 6 Testimonies 144 notice quickly. 34:11 "Men will employ every means to make less prominent 34:14 the difference between Seventh-day Adventists 34:16 and observers of the first day of the week. " 34:18 Did you get that? 34:19 They're going to employ what? Every avenue to make... 34:22 You know... don't... 34:26 "A company... " Listen care- fully: "A company was presented 34:29 before me under the name of Seventh-day Adventist 34:32 who were advising that the banner or the sign 34:38 which makes us a distinct people 34:40 should not be held out so strikingly... " 34:43 Umh... "for they claimed that this was 34:45 not the best policy in order to secure success 34:49 in our institutions. " But now listen: 34:51 " But it is not a time to haul down our colors. " 34:55 Are you there, church? 34:56 "It's not a time to haul down our colors, 34:59 to be ashamed of our faith. " 35:01 I'm reading on. 35:03 This distinctive banner, right? There's others... It says here 35:07 at that time in the movement that said what? 35:10 "Let's tone it down. " 35:12 "Let's don't be distinct. Let's don't be so different 35:15 than everybody else. " You know they're not of God 35:18 when they say that. If somebody says it today, 35:20 it's not of God. I'm reading on... notice this: 35:23 Not a time to bring them down, not to be ashamed. 35:25 But, the distinctive banner. What's written on your 35:28 distinctive banner? What is written on that? 35:31 "HERE is the patience of the saints! 35:34 Here are they that keep the commandments of God 35:37 and have the faith of Jesus. " Revelation 14:12. 35:40 Isn't that what's on your banner? 35:42 Then why are you ashamed of it? 35:43 I don't want to be ashamed of that. 35:45 We are to lift that banner high! 35:46 "HERE is the patience of the saints! " 35:48 Here are they that keep the commandments of God... 35:50 not break them. 35:55 And notice what it says: "This message... " 35:58 6 Testimonies 144 35:59 "this is to borne to the world to the close of probation. " 36:04 So if you think I'm off-center today, 36:06 we'll read this again. 36:08 "This message is to be borne... " What? 36:10 "until probation closes. " 36:12 We're to lift up that banner. 36:14 Patience of the saints... praise God! 36:18 Reading on, notice this: "While efforts 36:21 should be increased to advance in different localities 36:23 there must be... " notice... "no cloaking of our faith. " 36:27 Some people have a cloak on. 36:28 Some people are cover-up artists. 36:30 Those need to be taken off. 36:33 We need to have things clear. Notice this: 36:35 "There must be no cloaking of our faith to secure patronage. " 36:39 Notice this: that means support. 36:41 We don't cover up in order to gain support from anything 36:45 or anybody. Amen! Did you notice that? 36:48 "Truth must come to souls ready to perish. " 36:51 If we believe Jesus is coming, 36:53 we have to believe that they're going to be millions 36:55 and millions of lost souls because we didn't do our job 36:59 or somebody's trying to hold you back from doing your job. 37:04 Or you're worried about the wife will get mad or the husband 37:07 will get mad or the children are going to get mad. 37:08 LET THEM GET MAD! You don't mind. 37:13 Truth is truth, and that's what you are challenged 37:16 to stand for. Amen! 37:19 Not to be loved by everybody even though we'd like that. 37:24 The article says, notice this: 37:26 "If it is in any way hidden, 37:29 if this message is any way hidden... " Somebody listen: 37:33 God have mercy on us... listen: 37:35 "God is dishonored and the blood of those souls 37:39 will be upon our garments. " 37:41 We don't need anybody else's blood. 37:43 I'm by the grace of God fighting for eternal life 37:45 if you know what I'm talking about. 37:47 Day by day the enemy is on you. 37:49 We don't need that blood. We need to present this message. 37:52 We need to be like I Samuel talks about. 2:30 says: 37:55 "Then that honor Me... " What? "I will honor. " 37:58 God promised to honor you. 37:59 Even the world says differently He'll honor you if you stand 38:02 for what is truth and what you know is truth. 38:04 We should never give the impression that it would help 38:08 to hide who we are or what we believe. 38:12 The world needs to know this message. 38:15 "Well, I'll hide it. " 38:16 "Well, my wife doesn't know I'm an Adventist 38:18 or my cousin doesn't know I'm a Seventh-day Adventist. 38:20 They don't know the message. " Why are you hiding it? 38:23 This is a message they need to know. 38:25 Their eternal salvation rests upon hearing this message. 38:29 This is a life-and-death message, is it not? 38:31 That's why 3ABN is giving it, why it's going around the world. 38:33 Because this is THE message. 38:35 If it wasn't, why would we be preaching it? 38:37 If it's just easy come, easy go, don't worry about it, 38:40 no specific message, hey everybody's going to make it. 38:42 That's not the way it's going to be. 38:47 We're afraid that we're not going to be loved and liked 38:50 by people. They say: "If they know what I stand for, 38:54 they're not going to care for me. " 38:56 They're not going to care for you anyway. 38:59 It's time everybody would take a stand. 39:03 And I say this as nice as I can: 39:05 people say: "Oh, it's too hard" sometimes, 39:07 either you're in or you're out. 39:09 Be counted in or be counted out. 39:12 Jesus said it nice. The Bible says it a lot nicer 39:14 than I said it. What is it? Matthew 12:30 39:16 what did Jesus say when they're talking about Him? 39:18 "He who is not with Me is... " What? 39:20 "He's against Me. " "He who is not with Me 39:22 is against Me. " And if we're not gathering together, 39:25 we're scattering. So if you're in Adventism today 39:27 and you're scattering rather than bundling together, 39:30 something's wrong. We've lost our first love; 39:32 we've lost the love for this truth. 39:34 God help us not to lose this. 39:35 This is a beautiful beautiful message God has given us! 39:40 The world needs to know 39:46 and God has put that on you, He's put it on me. 39:49 He's put it on 3ABN; He's put it on all the ministries. 39:52 Be what God wants us to be: 39:55 not ashamed of our faith. 39:58 Not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. 40:01 Romans 1:16... you know that well. 40:03 Don't be afraid and ashamed to be called SDA. 40:06 And I realize attached with that sometimes comes some negative 40:09 things. I understand that, but I'm talking about the message. 40:13 The message is on target. 40:15 Don't be afraid to be called Seventh-day Adventist. 40:18 Don't be afraid to be identified with God's last-day church 40:21 who dares to keep a different day than the world keeps... 40:24 to keep the seventh day holy. 40:26 That God blessed, that God sanctified, that God set apart. 40:31 God designed that we should not experience 40:37 an identity crisis. 40:40 He doesn't want us to be lost in the crowd. 40:44 But each of us should be - the Bible says - a spectacle 40:48 to the world and to angels and to men. 40:52 I Corinthians 4:9 40:53 Did you get that? What are we to be? 40:55 We're to be a spectacle. 40:56 Well most people: "I don't want to be a spectacle! " 40:58 "I don't want to be pointed out. " 41:00 "I don't want to be different. " 41:01 God said you're to be a spectacle to the world. 41:05 That means in the Greek a place of public showing. 41:09 That's what we need to be today. 41:11 The world needs to look upon God's last-day people. 41:17 You know, I think about sometimes we need to be this 41:20 giant, beautiful oak tree. 41:23 The most beautiful tree is a big oak tree. 41:26 We're to be that giant big, beautiful oak tree 41:28 standing in the world. But what happened? 41:30 It seems at times that this big, beautiful oak tree 41:34 is still in the acorn and it's gotta come out. 41:39 It's up to you. What will you do with it? 41:41 What will I do? There's hope today. 41:42 Good news: there's hope today 41:45 for those who may be suffering from identity crisis. 41:47 There's hope! When you study all these things 41:50 and look into it there's hope in the Word of God. 41:53 We could start with Joshua 24:15. 41:56 "Choose you this day... " What? 41:58 "whom you will serve. " 41:59 I Kings 18:21 we understand 42:01 "If the Lord be God then you follow Him. " 42:04 If this movement is on target, then do it! 42:06 If it's not, you need to do something else. 42:10 Lukewarm's killing the church! 42:12 You know that. 42:14 We've probably all experienced that at times 42:16 and I realize if I'm lukewarm I'm killing the church. 42:19 Cause nothing but trouble. Get on fire! 42:21 There's no time to be confused. 42:23 Simple obedience to every word of God. Matthew 4:4. 42:27 "Every word that... " Does what? 42:28 "proceeds out of the mouth of God. " 42:30 That's the condition of success. 42:32 Did you get it? Amen! Condition of success 42:35 for this church is to be obedient to every word 42:38 that proceeds out of the mouth of God. 42:39 And not be watering, washing, and backing up 42:42 and backing down. Our orders are to march and to go forward. 42:46 I believe that with my whole heart. 42:48 God says He's going to use people. 42:50 You know what? It's not display... 42:53 display of things that God's going to use. 42:56 It's not the person with the highest I.Q. 42:58 that God is going to use. 43:00 It's not the best speaker that God's going to use 43:02 and it's not a bunch of useless ceremonies 43:06 that sometimes go on. 43:08 It's not a toning down of our message 43:11 but a simple trust in the leader of this church 43:15 which is Jesus Christ. Amen! This is the church! 43:18 This is the one He's blessed. 43:20 This is the movement! 43:22 The Lord requires us, my brothers and sisters, 43:25 to be distinct. 43:26 I hope you don't think I'm trying to be too hard. 43:28 I've had this on my heart for a long time. 43:30 It's a burden I have and I have to share it. 43:33 If I don't, I think I'm my head's just going to pop off. 43:36 I hope you feel that way. I'm serious about it. 43:39 This is it. 43:41 I'm not trying to scold anyone but I'm telling you 43:43 the seriousness of this message, the seriousness 43:47 of how God has called you into this movement. 43:49 Your eternal destiny rides upon how you accept it 43:53 and what you do with it. 43:55 The Lord requires us to be what? 43:58 Distinct! You know what that means? 43:59 Look up that word distinct. That means not like. 44:02 He requires us to be distinct. 44:05 That's different, that's sepa- rate, that's clearly marked off. 44:08 That's plain, that's well- defined, that's unmistakable, 44:11 do you know that? For we are called out, 44:14 we are marked out, and we're sent out to do something. 44:17 Did you get it my brothers and sisters? 44:19 You're called out and you're marked out, 44:21 and you're sent out because "You're a peculiar treasure 44:25 to Me" God say in Exodus 19:5. 44:27 "You're a holy people" He says. 44:30 "Chosen above... " What? "all nations. " Deut. 14:12. 44:34 You're a people Titus talks about there in Titus 2:14. 44:38 The Bible says there'll be a people "zealous of good works. " 44:42 My brothers and sisters, today are we standing 44:44 for what we know is truth? 44:46 We need not... we MUST not lower any standard. 44:48 Enough is enough! 44:51 I say enough is enough! 44:53 Amen! We need not lower any standard 44:56 in order to be recognized by the world 44:59 or in order to be popular 45:02 nor to increase our numbers. 45:06 If that be true, Satan does what? 45:09 Ha... ha... Satan claims victory in this world 45:13 for he has the majority. 45:14 So it's not just to get numbers in. 45:18 Ties must be cut, choices made. 45:22 No fence riding right now. 45:25 It's time for clear-cut decisions. 45:28 Whose side are you on? Whose side am I on? 45:30 God help us! 45:33 Our identity has put on maybe its new face 45:40 and we need to get it washed off and cleaned off 45:43 and stands back straight the way God called it to be. Amen! 45:48 Not worry about the look of man's face. 45:50 Not worry about what man might say. 45:52 God's going to stand in your behalf. 45:53 He didn't ask you to worry about all those things. 45:55 He simply said: "Go and do. " 45:57 And only God can help us through the power of the Holy Spirit. 46:02 Our identity must be kept alive. 46:06 Our identity as a people must be fresh. 46:09 It must continue on giving the full three angels' messages: 46:13 to fear God and to give glory to Him. 46:19 For what? "For the hour of His judgment 46:21 is come. " Fear God; give Him glory. 46:25 Bring it to the front... don't sit on it! 46:29 You've know it too long; I've known it too long. 46:31 I sat on it for a long time. 46:34 By God's grace I'm not sitting on it any more. 46:36 Amen! I want to bring it to the front. 46:38 Again, I don't want to be popular. 46:41 I'm not worried about whether - and I say it nicely - 46:44 whether people love me or whether they don't. 46:46 I want them to fall in love with Jesus Christ. 46:48 I want them to fall in love with the truth of the Book 46:50 that right here we're reading today from. 46:52 The warning that God has given us today 46:55 is we need to get on fire for Jesus. 46:58 Give the three angels' messages. 47:00 Just get out there in the front and just say right there: 47:03 "I believe in giving the message. " The Sabbath truth... 47:06 you know, the seventh-day Sabbath truth. 47:07 It needs to go into all the world. 47:09 It's a test for all the churches. 47:12 "Well they don't want to hear it. " Too bad! 47:17 "They're going to get mad at me if I do. " Too bad! 47:20 I'm not trying to be ugly about that. 47:22 I'm simply telling we've got to boil it down to that. 47:25 The devil's going to make you feel: "Well I shouldn't do it. " 47:28 "They don't want it. " You can't give it to somebody 47:29 that doesn't want to hear it, but God will give you thousands 47:32 and thousands of ways in which to give this message 47:34 to the world. See, we need to go... 47:36 The three angels' messages give the Sabbath truth. 47:38 Give the truth of the judgment hour message. 47:40 Give the truth about the state of the dead and quit bickering 47:43 around about it like it doesn't matter. 47:47 Give what the Bible talks about: the fate of the wicked. 47:51 We don't want to talk abut hell fire because people say 47:53 they don't want to hear about hell fire. 47:54 You'd better want to hear about it and better know about heaven 47:57 and hell because you're going one place or the other. 47:59 That's right! You're going to end up in one place 48:01 or the other. There is no purgatory. 48:03 There is no praying you out a limb at a time. 48:06 You know what I'm talking about. 48:09 These are serious issues. 48:11 You're going one place or the other. 48:14 You're here for just a moment and then you're gone. 48:16 Life is like a vapor, isn't it? 48:19 It's like the grass that withers and dies away. 48:20 What are you going to do then? The next thing is the judgment. 48:24 Are you ready for that judgment by the grace of God? 48:27 What an awesome thing! When your name comes up 48:29 in the judgment what will Jesus? 48:31 Will He be able to stand for you? 48:33 Have you been standing for Him? 48:35 Are you willing to get in that piggybank 48:37 and say: "I want to give to the cause more than I ever have 48:40 before 'cause I can't take it with me. " 48:42 You're not going to be buried with it. 48:43 You can't spend it when you're dead! 48:49 It's time to make those decisions 48:51 and trust God that He will take care of you. 48:53 He's taken care of you all your life, hasn't He? 48:56 He's not going to let you down right now. 48:57 "I'll never leave you; I'll never forsake you. " 49:00 Man, that takes faith! 49:02 Preach the second coming of Jesus Christ. 49:06 Preach the sanctuary message. 49:08 Preach the law of God. 49:10 Three angels' messages call the people out of what? 49:13 Out of Babylon and confusion: 49:15 false doctrines and false teachings 49:18 and commandments of men. 49:19 That needs to be exposed more and more and more. 49:24 Warn the world against the mark of the beast 49:26 which is coming up and that is Sunday worship. 49:29 Let's quit mincing words about it. 49:32 Sunday law is coming! Under the administration, 49:35 the government we have today it could happen quicker than 49:37 what you think. I mean things are set up right now. 49:40 Things are happening in the world right now 49:42 the Sunday laws can come about just like that. 49:44 And there'll be people running around saying: 49:46 "You folks have been saying this for a long time. 49:49 Now we see this happen. " 49:50 What are you going to do with them? 49:52 We need to be ready to bring them into the church. 49:55 And I'll tell you this: when the church is ready 49:57 God will send them. 49:58 Problem is the church is not growing because 50:00 the church is not ready. The people are not ready 50:03 in there to receive what God has for us 50:05 through the power of the Holy Spirit. 50:07 God wants to send them to your church. 50:08 God wants you to be, you know, alive and well for His cause 50:12 right now. But we need to be. We just read the Bible, 50:14 read inspiration... be ready. 50:16 I'm not trying to scold you with it. I want you to think today. 50:18 I want to challenge you with the Word of God today. 50:21 Keep thinking about giving all three angels' messages 50:24 and quit letting somebody tell you that you're to tone down 50:28 the third angel's message and Sunday law... 50:31 mark of the beast, 50:33 the papacy involved. 50:34 "We don't want to hurt... " Ooh, man! 50:39 Whew! My dad always said "that gives me the all overs. " 50:44 If you don't give it now, when are you going to give it? 50:47 If it's not the right time to give it, then when is 50:50 the right time? 50:52 I think it's now. I do! It's past time! 50:56 Man, what are we? 170-some years since 1844? 51:00 Is that right? That's a long time 51:03 God's give grace and mercy. 51:07 Wow! We, my brothers and sisters, 51:11 the message we have to give to the world bears no commonness. 51:15 Did you get it? No commonness; no likeness. 51:19 No resemblance to other faiths. 51:22 Not trying to downtrod anybody, and I'm not going to 51:24 apologize for what I'm saying. Well, I'll just 51:27 say I'm going to say it anyway. 51:30 Did you get what I just said? 51:32 This movement... this movement bears no what? 51:38 Commonness. It bears no likeness, 51:41 it bears no resemblance to other faiths. 51:45 Anything less than what God has commanded 51:48 us to give in time of warfare 51:52 is treason against God. 51:55 And you will be convicted of it and I will be convicted of it 51:58 too and the loss of heaven. 52:00 This is the hour. 52:03 This is the day. 52:08 We have our marching orders 52:13 and we've had 'em it seems like almost forever. 52:16 I've been in this movement a long time. 52:19 I've seen a lot of good and bad things. 52:21 I see a lot of bad things right now I don't like 52:25 and they need to be changed. Why? 52:27 Because they do not line up with the Word of God. 52:29 Let somebody stand in your face and say they line up 52:31 with the Word of God... somebody's a liar! 52:34 You don't mind it. 52:38 Everybody, right? They're telling different things. 52:40 Only one way you can tell the truth. 52:43 But the good news can be changed. 52:49 We have our marching orders. 52:55 We need to shoulder up for battle. 52:59 'Cause if you've not been going through a battle 53:00 bless your heart. You're going to 53:02 if you're going to stand for Christ. 53:04 Every day should be a big battle 53:06 because the enemy says: "Ooh, I don't like you... 53:09 look what you're doing. " 53:11 It's OK because you serve One that's greater! 53:15 Shoulder up! Let's lay it all out on the table. 53:20 Let's don't hold back anything. 53:23 Let's give the message to where it stirs the hearts 53:27 of people. Agitate them; stir them up! 53:30 Get them back into the Word of God. 53:32 If they think that we're just like everybody else, 53:35 why will they listen to you? 53:36 Why would they get back in the Word of God? 53:38 Why would they study to see whether these things be so? 53:44 Let's get ready for battle. 53:48 I say this... Mom, are you still here? 53:51 I want you to come and pray quickly. 53:55 Is it OK to say that? 53:57 Oh, you're my brothers and sis- ters. I can talk the way I want. 53:59 OK. I say this: 54:03 enough of identity crisis. 54:05 Enough of confusion. 54:08 It's time to show our colors. 54:10 It's time to raise the standard high. 54:12 Give the trumpet a certain sound. 54:16 Lay the ax to the root of these issues of sin 54:19 for God's people will be victorious. Amen! 54:24 God's true church is going through! 54:28 Can you be a part of that? Will you be a part of that? 54:33 By faith, Revelation 15 as I'm closing down, 54:37 Revelation chapter 15 is just a beautiful passage of scripture. 54:41 It talks about the temple of God was opened in heaven. 54:45 Oh, somebody... The temple of God was what? 54:48 Was opened in heaven 54:50 and John was able to behold. 54:53 Think about: by faith we have seen the tables of stone. 54:58 By faith we've seen the law of God 55:01 written on those tables of stone. 55:04 WE have been identified as God's last-day people. 55:09 We have an identity! 55:11 Yes! And let's stay close to Jesus. 55:15 We need to pray about it. That's right. 55:17 We need to really pray about this the last 2 minutes 55:20 that we have because if by faith you've seen 55:24 the temple is opened and you've read it 55:27 and you believe it, then you know you're on the right track. 55:31 That the world needs to hear it. 55:35 Right now! Not later; not next week 55:38 when I get things straightened out. Right now! 55:39 Let's make that decision right now, shall we? 55:42 As a church we will not be going through any other identity 55:45 crisis because we have been identified. 55:47 We have seen what's happening in the heavenly sanctuary. 55:51 We KNOW what's going on. 55:53 We know what's going to happen - 55:54 um-hmm - and we want to be ready for that great day. 55:56 And I know you do, too, and I encourage people 55:58 all over: take your stand right now 56:00 for what is truth and what is right. 56:02 Honey, you want to pray for us? We have a minute and 27 seconds. 56:05 We're going to kneel up here. You do what you want to do. 56:07 We're going to pray. 56:09 Most gracious heavenly Father, 56:11 Lord, we thank you. We thank you for reminding us 56:14 who we are. We're a called-out people. 56:17 A peculiar people... a royal priesthood.
