00:46 Hello and welcome to 3ABN Fall Camp Meeting.
00:49 And what a great crowd that we have already! 00:51 Some of you have come 500 miles we already found out. 00:54 A thousand miles... even 1,500. 00:57 I didn't even dare ask if anybody came 2,000 miles. 01:01 How about this: anybody come from another planet? 01:05 I think that will solve it, otherwise we could spend 01:08 about 30 minutes trying to find out where y'all came from. 01:11 But I think we're OK. Nobody came from another planet. 01:13 Not yet... It's where we're goin', right? 01:15 To another place. Amen! That's what's important. 01:17 Yvonne, Fall Camp Meeting... one of your favorite times 01:20 of the year. It is! I love Camp Meeting. 01:23 It's such a time of spiritual renewal. 01:25 You get to meet the rest of our family... our 3ABN family 01:29 that we don't normally see. 01:30 We get to see them and so it's great. I love it! 01:33 Bro. John. I tell you: we look forward to the 01:36 seasons changing but it's so good to know 01:38 that the Lord never changes. Amen! 01:40 And this time of year when everything is falling 01:43 we can still stand on the Solid Rock Christ Jesus. 01:46 So Fall Camp Meeting is not fall in the sense of us. 01:49 But the world is changing and we serve a God that never changes. 01:52 Praise God for that. Amen! 01:54 He's preaching already! I know! OK... all right. 01:58 All right... Sr. Shelley Quinn. 01:59 Well I'm so glad that we're starting with an hour of music. 02:03 You know what worship with music does? 02:05 It kind of helps us plow up the hardened ground 02:09 so that the soil of our heart will be ready to receive 02:13 the Word of God. And boy, when that Word is implanted 02:17 in you and it's rooted and grounded 02:20 it has power to save your soul. Amen! 02:24 Greg and Jill. What a blessing Camp Meeting is! 02:26 I love this time where we get to shake your hands 02:29 and hug your necks - as Danny always says - 02:31 and just share with you. You are part of the 3ABN family! 02:35 And it just feels like you come home 02:38 when we have our Fall Home- coming, and we're excited 02:40 that each one of you are here. And we're happy that you can 02:43 join us at home as well. 02:45 This morning we had a 3ABN Board Meeting 02:47 which was an incredible experience 02:48 to see what God is doing in and through this ministry. 02:52 Elder Ted Wilson joined us this morning 02:54 and shared with the board. And he challenged us 02:57 at 3ABN to continue to proclaim 03:00 the Word of God. Proclaim an undiluted 03:04 three angels' messages. And the other thing he challenged us 03:07 to do was to live lives of holiness. 03:11 To, in other words, practice what you preach. 03:13 It's not enough to preach the Word of God 03:15 but we need to live that. We need to follow God. 03:19 So I'm excited about Fall Camp Meeting 03:21 and the opportunity that we have to re-dedicate 03:24 and re-consecrate our hearts and lives 03:28 to the service of the Lord Jesus. Amen. 03:31 Jesus is coming soon, right? 03:32 Amen! And Elder Wilson... you hear him mention that 03:35 a lot, right? Jesus is coming soon. 03:37 Again he encouraged us at the Board Meeting as well. 03:40 You know, the 3ABN Board Meeting: it's a blessing. 03:42 Someone even mentioned it's like a worship service. 03:45 Unfortunately, I don't think we can invite the entire group. 03:47 Right? To the Board Meeting, but it's a blessing being at 03:50 3ABN Board Meeting. It's always an encouragement to be there 03:52 and to see what God is doing with the ministry of 3ABN. 03:55 And that is thanks to each one of you 03:57 and you at home. Thank you for your faithful support 03:59 for the ministry of 3ABN 04:00 because it's changing lives for what? Eternity. 04:04 Praise the Lord! Somebody asked how we were doing 04:06 financially and I said "Our donations are down 04:09 this year but we're happy. " That's right! 04:11 And they say: "You're happy? Why are you happy 04:13 your donations are down? " I say: "Because it's not the end 04:15 of the year yet. " Right? So it's the end of the year 04:18 that I love telling the stories in January 04:20 of what God did to get us out of a jam. 04:23 He does that all the time. 04:24 And so we are so thankful that we serve a God of might 04:29 and miracles and that we're in a ministry that literally from 04:32 this little spot in this little town of 600 and West Frankfort 04:35 about 8 or 9 thousand literally as we speak right now 04:39 this signal is traveling around the world 04:41 at the speed of light - 186,200 miles per second - 04:46 hitting numerous satellites coming down into homes 04:49 of literally hundreds of millions. 04:51 We don't even know. The potential might be 04:53 a couple billion people. 04:55 Mollie's out here... Mollie Sue. 04:56 She's used evangelistics here... numbers. There she is. 04:59 Mollie and Hal. I always accuse her. I say: 05:03 "Mollie, that's evangelistic. " She said: "But it's true! 05:05 That many people could be watching. " 05:07 I agree with you tonight. 05:09 Jesus said: "Go ye into all the world. " 05:11 Thank you for your love and your prayers and financial 05:14 support of 3ABN because without you 05:16 we couldn't do what we're doing. 05:18 We could not go forward and literally take this message 05:22 into the entire world. So thank you. We're glad 05:24 for those of you that are here. Those of you who couldn't 05:26 make it, we want you... It's not too late. 05:28 Come tomorrow; come on Sabbath. 05:30 We're going to be here all day tomorrow. 05:32 Sabbath all day and the evening. 05:33 And those that can't make it period, thank you for your love 05:36 and your prayers and financial support. 05:38 Now what I want to do... We talked to everybody but Tim 05:40 so Tim, I want you to either say something 05:43 or play something quickly. 05:45 Play or sing... OK... or talk. 05:48 Well, I tell you it's great to be here always. 05:51 And I share everybody's... yeah. 05:54 Play something upbeat. 05:56 Let's do... let's do: 06:11 Sing it! When the roll is called up yonder, 06:15 when the roll is called up yonder, 06:19 when the roll is called up yonder, 06:24 when the roll is called up yonder I'll be there! 06:29 All right. I see where Tim's mind is, right? 06:32 Wants to be on that roll. Right, Tim? 06:34 You're on a roll... on a roll to heaven. 06:37 OK. Well, we've got some great things happening 06:40 at 3ABN. Maybe tomorrow night we'll share some of those. 06:44 But I did want to talk about the fact that... that 06:46 with all of the social media there are so many more ways 06:51 to reach people now than just television and radio. 06:54 And 3ABN... we are committed to every communication highway 07:00 we believe we should be on it, don't you? 07:02 Whatever it is. Social media? A lot of times that's used 07:04 for junk. And I see a lot of us so-called Christians on there 07:08 arguing politics and arguing all kinds of things. 07:10 But I'm asking God to help me don't be doing that 07:13 but to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ 07:16 because we have so many avenues to get through. 07:18 But I'm excited about what's happening in the continual 07:22 growth of 3ABN. For instance 07:24 the second quarter of this coming year 07:27 we're scheduled to be in Chicago on cable 07:31 to 2.1 million people in that great city. 07:34 Amen! Is that a praise the Lord? 07:36 Amen! Think about that. That's absolutely a miracle 07:39 that 2.1 million homes 07:43 which you take that times 3 per home 07:45 you're looking at potential of 6 million people 07:48 in Chicagoland area. 07:49 Then we're on track, as Jill says, for Atlanta 07:54 this coming year also to reach a million plus. 07:57 We just several months ago or this past year 08:00 went into Michigan? Wisconsin? Indiana? Michigan 08:03 and Indiana. We cover the states of Michigan and Indiana. 08:06 Like 1.2 million homes. That's on cable. 08:09 Now there's all kinds of ways of getting 3ABN, 08:12 but cable's not dead. It's still alive and still going. 08:14 And so to see these things happening 08:17 you say: "What a mighty God we serve! " 08:19 Amen! What a mighty God we serve! 08:21 In general people don't like and a lot of the cable companies 08:25 don't like Christian programming 08:26 but they go where the demand is. 08:28 Right? So when you write to your cable companies 08:31 and say: "We want to watch 3ABN" 08:32 enough people do it they listen. 08:34 'Cause they're thinking dollars. We're thinking souls, right? 08:37 They're thinking dollars, but whatever the reason 08:39 we're just glad... Thank you for those of you 08:42 who are calling, writing your cable companies. 08:44 When you go home, if you haven't, please do. 08:46 They listen; we can get on more and more cable companies. 08:50 We're on... I don't know altogether, Latino and 08:53 English a thousand or two? 08:56 I would say more like 3. Three thousand cable companies. 08:59 So that's amazing what God is doing. 09:02 OK, any other news here before we get started with our music? 09:07 Somebody? Speaking of the digital, 09:09 I love that because when 3ABN first began 09:12 we weren't even on satellite. 09:13 And then God led 3ABN through Moses Primo 09:16 and we broadcast on satellite around the world. 09:19 But we've been talking recently about this digital. 09:22 Because I don't have my phone out here, which is unusual 09:24 for me because if you know me I always carry my phone with me. 09:28 That's true. And at least people my age 09:31 you would say and younger 09:33 and probably many people older than me 09:36 we watch media on our cell phones. 09:39 That is the way that the world is going. 09:41 It's no longer watching on television 09:43 although people still watch on television. 09:45 That's why we're excited we're launching on cable 09:47 and other avenues, but 3ABN is looking to break 09:51 into new markets with the apps, with the on-line, 09:55 with social media. So we have some exciting developments 09:59 with that looking at expanding into that 10:02 because that is where the future is. 10:04 With television is going that direction. 10:06 You know, it's an interesting statistic, if I can say that 10:09 word, Roku. I don't know how many of you watch 3ABN on Roku? 10:12 In the month of June... OK, quite a few hands. 10:15 In the month of June 3.8 million hours 10:18 of 3ABN were watched on Roku. 10:20 Just the month of June. Just Roku? 10:23 3.8 million hours of 3ABN. 3.8 million hours watched. 10:27 That's a lot of people... A lot of hits or people going to it. 10:30 That's how many hours was watched. 10:32 That's a tremendous amount for that one venue. 10:35 That's correct... yep. And we have, of course, YouTube 10:37 and all the other places, too. How many of you watch 3ABN 10:39 on YouTube? OK. All right. How many of you watch 10:43 the Sabbath School Panel on YouTube? OK, yeah, yeah. 10:45 YouTube is growing. And that's the thing that I 10:48 was going to say. So many people have 10:51 already talked to me about how much they enjoy Sabbath School. 10:54 I want to encourage you, even if you watch it on television, 10:58 share the link. Share it with your friends 11:02 and your family because you could save a life. 11:06 And we've talked with people who were not 11:09 Adventists but someone sent them a link to Sabbath School Panel 11:14 and they have been faithfully studying with us 11:17 and they're getting ready to be baptized. 11:18 So share a link. 11:20 You know, it's really important in this day and age. 11:24 I was just thinking, you know, when we started this 11:26 in 19... the idea came in November of 1984 11:30 but 1985 we started building. 11:32 If somebody came up to me and said: 11:35 "Are you on Twitter? Are you on Facebook? " 11:37 "Are you on YouTube? " You know... 11:40 I'm like: "What in the world is wrong with them? " 11:42 "Are you on social media? " "On what? " 11:45 You know, think how the technology has changed 11:48 so much in the last almost 35 years. 11:50 Amazing. Pastor John, we've got a couple minutes. 11:53 Why don't you say something then pray for us? 11:55 Really briefly, how many of you have a phone with you right now? 11:57 How many of you? Come on, raise your hand. 11:59 We all have phones. Now what I'd like you to do - 12:00 not during the sermon - but take your phone. Go to 3ABN.tv 12:04 Look at the live link: watch live. 12:07 Send that link to someone or many people 12:10 that you have in your address book. 12:12 And right away as many people as are here 12:14 you have already doubled or tripled the amount of people 12:16 that are viewing or can view 3ABN. 12:19 And as many people as you send, that's the audience of 3ABN 12:22 exponentially increasing immediately. 12:24 So that's the power you have. 12:26 Social media, texting or e-mailing: do that 12:29 as quickly as you can. 12:30 And if you want to, take a picture of yourself 12:32 so they know who it's coming from. 12:33 OK. Let's have a word of prayer. 12:35 Loving Father in heaven, 12:37 thank you, Lord. Unto Him who is able to keep us 12:41 from falling this is a season of change 12:44 yet we serve a God who doesn't change. 12:46 All around us the flowers are beginning to bow their heads. 12:50 The leaves that have clapped their hands during the summer 12:54 are falling to the ground 12:55 declaring the end of their journey. 12:57 But Father, we're still trekking on... trusting You. 13:00 As You guide us through this world that needs to be 13:03 navigated spiritually, we pray that Your Holy Spirit 13:06 will come and anoint this Camp Meeting: 13:08 the speakers, the music, the messages, the testimonies, 13:12 the viewers and those who are here, 13:14 the listeners and those who are here. 13:16 And may all the glory that is shared and experienced in this 13:19 place be reflected back to You 13:22 through lives that are lived for Your glory and honor. 13:26 So Father, we now put ourselves in Your hands. 13:28 And may everything that is done in this Camp Meeting 13:30 advance Your cause in the earth, 13:32 advance the mission of 3ABN, 13:35 and uplift the name of Jesus. 13:37 In Your precious name we pray, Amen. 13:40 Amen. OK, we're going to start our music hour. 13:43 What we're going to do instead of introducing everybody 13:46 and taking up that time 13:48 we're just going to... I'm going to read you who's going to be 13:50 singing. Each one will just come out 13:52 and you sit back and be blessed. 13:54 And music is a great way to really listen to the Lord 13:58 as He speaks to us. And it's so relaxing 14:01 and it can help us get rid of the cares, 14:03 get in the worship mode, because it's... 14:07 to me it's a powerful tool that God has given us. 14:11 It's a universal language. 14:12 So tonight we're going to start off with Tim Parton. 14:15 He's at the piano now. Celestine Barry-Dickens 14:18 will be singing for us 14:19 and Farrah, her daughter, will be accompanying her. 14:22 Then after that Pastor John Lomacang, 14:24 Ryan Day, and Tim Parton are going to have a trio. 14:27 Now these three were practicing while ago. 14:30 They wanted to do some video. 14:32 Our camera crew had said: "Could you go over 14:34 and take John's place a minute 14:36 and sit and act like you're singing with Tim and Ryan? " 14:40 So when we got through I said: "Guys, why don't you 14:42 kick John out and just have me and we'll get a bus 14:45 and start traveling? " And they just looked at me 14:47 and I said: "I probably could raise the funds 14:49 to get us a little bus. John may not be able to 14:52 so maybe it's worth a little sound, 14:54 you know, giving up a little good sound 14:56 in order to have a nice ride to a venue, you know. " 14:59 I don't think I could anyway. I was just kidding, all right? 15:02 But they do a great job and I'm so thankful 15:04 for their ministry. 15:06 So John, he's going to be out here in a few minutes. 15:09 I keep teaching he and Ryan and Yvonne... 15:12 giving them voice lessons. You know, all these folk. 15:14 I'm just kidding you. Don't get tight, OK? 15:17 Then we have a special guest tonight: Stephanie Dawn. 15:19 How many know Stephanie Dawn? 15:21 And she's a great young gal. 15:23 Got a great voice, and we're so happy that she is here. 15:26 Tomorrow night I think Ladye Love is coming. 15:29 Ladye Love Smith. Reggie... he's with the Gaithers now. 15:31 He's with the vocal band. He can't be here Sabbath 15:34 but Ladye Love will be here. My daughter Melody 15:36 should be here tomorrow evening 15:38 so we're also going to do some more music. 15:40 After Stephanie Dawn is Ryan Day 15:43 and after that is my sister Tammy Chance. 15:45 So we just pray that you'll sit back and be blessed 15:48 with this music. 15:55 This is right out of the hymnal. 15:57 Page 461. 16:04 Be still, my soul - 16:07 the Lord is on thy side! 16:12 Bear patiently 16:15 the cross of grief or pain; 16:20 Leave to thy God 16:23 to order and provide - 16:28 In ev'ry change 16:32 He faithful will remain. 16:38 Be still, my soul - 16:41 thy best, thy heav'nly friend 16:46 Thru thorny ways 16:50 leads to a joyful end. 16:59 Be still, my soul - 17:02 thy God doth undertake 17:06 To guide the future as He has 17:11 the past; 17:13 Thy hope, thy confidence 17:17 let nothing shake - 17:20 All now mysterious 17:24 shall be bright at last. 17:28 Be still, my soul - 17:31 the waves and winds still know 17:36 His voice who ruled them 17:41 while He dwelt below. 17:53 Be still, my soul - 17:57 the hour is hast'ning on 18:02 when we shall be 18:05 forever with the Lord, 18:09 When disappointment, 18:12 grief, and fear will be gone, 18:16 Sorrow forgot, 18:19 love's purest joys restored. 18:24 Be still, my soul - 18:28 when change and tears are all past, 18:33 All safe and blessed 18:38 we shall meet at last. 19:30 One single drop of rain... 19:34 Your salty tear became blue ocean. 19:41 One tiny grain of sand 19:45 turning in Your hand 19:49 the world in motion. 19:53 You're out beyond the furthest 19:58 Morning Star 20:01 Close enough to hold me 20:05 in Your arms! 20:08 Adonai! 20:12 I lift up my heart 20:16 and I cry: 20:20 "My Adonai! " 20:24 Maker of each moment, 20:27 Father of my hope 20:31 and freedom... 20:37 Oh, my Adonai! 20:47 One timid faithful knock 20:50 resounds upon the Rock of Ages 20:57 and one trembling heart and soul 21:02 becomes a servant 21:04 bold and courageous. 21:10 You call across the mountains 21:14 and the seas. 21:17 I answer from the deepest part of me! 21:24 Adonai! 21:28 I lift up my heart 21:31 and I cry: 21:36 "My Adonai! " 21:39 Maker of each moment, 21:42 Father of my hope 21:45 and freedom: 21:52 Oh, my Adonai! 21:59 Oh, from age to age You reign 22:04 in Majesty! 22:07 And today You're making miracles 22:12 in me! 22:15 Adonai! 22:19 I lift up my heart 22:22 and I cry: 22:26 "My Adonai! " 22:29 You are Maker of each moment, 22:33 oh, Father of my hope 22:37 and freedom: 22:40 Oh, Adonai... 22:43 Oh, my Adonai... 22:51 my Adonai... 22:56 ooo, ooo. 23:12 Amen? You know, we think about our Adonai 23:17 but then also we think about Jesus, the Water of Life. 23:20 And I ask myself the question: "How 23:23 would our lives be 23:26 and what would our lives be 23:27 if there was no river continually flowing? " 23:31 The writer of this song... I don't know if it's Gaither? 23:34 I don't know who it is, but it tells such a beautiful story 23:39 of a woman who ran into Christ. 23:42 And the fountain that He exposed her to 23:46 transformed and changed her life. 23:49 Listen to this message: There Is Still A River. 24:03 There is 24:08 a river 24:12 and it flows 24:16 from deep 24:18 within. 24:23 There is 24:28 a fountain 24:32 and it frees the soul 24:38 from sin. 24:43 Come to 24:48 this water... 24:52 there is 24:56 a vast supply! 25:03 There is 25:08 a river 25:12 that never shall 25:18 run dry. 25:23 There was 25:26 a thirsty woman. 25:33 She was drawing from 25:38 the well. 25:43 You see, her life 25:46 was bruised and broken 25:53 and her soul 25:55 was bound for hell. 26:01 Oh, but then 26:05 she met 26:09 this Master 26:13 and He told her of 26:18 her sin. 26:23 He said: "If you drink 26:28 this water, 26:32 you'll never thirst 26:38 again. " 26:42 Oh, there is 26:48 a river 26:52 and it flows 26:56 from deep within. 27:03 There is 27:08 a fountain 27:13 and it frees a soul 27:18 from sin. 27:22 Won't you come 27:26 this water? 27:32 There is 27:36 a vast supply! 27:43 There is 27:48 a river 27:53 that never shall 27:59 run dry. 28:39 On Christ, the Solid Rock, I stand. 28:45 All other ground 28:48 is sinking sand... 28:52 all other ground 28:55 is sinking sand. 29:05 My hope is built on nothing less 29:10 than Jesus' blood and righteousness. 29:17 I cannot trust 29:20 the sweetest frame 29:22 but wholly lean on Jesus' name. 29:28 On Christ, the Solid Rock, I stand 29:32 all other ground is sinking sand... 29:37 all other ground 29:39 is sinking sand. 29:49 When darkness veils His lovely face 29:53 I rest on His unchanging grace. 30:00 In every high and stormy gale 30:05 my anchor holds within the veil. 30:10 On Christ, the Solid Rock, I stand 30:15 all other ground is sinking sand... 30:20 all other ground is sinking sand. 30:32 His blood... 30:35 it heals me! 30:39 He then is all my hope and stay! 30:47 When He shall come 30:50 with trumpet sound 30:53 O may I then in Him be found. 30:59 Dressed in His righteousness 31:03 alone, faultless to stand 31:07 before His throne. 31:14 All other ground is sinking sand... 31:20 all other ground 31:22 is sinking sand. 31:26 On Christ, the Solid Rock, I stand... 31:31 On Christ, the Solid Rock, I stand... 31:35 all other ground is sinking sand... 31:40 on Christ, 31:42 the Solid Rock, 31:45 I stand! 32:01 Amen! 32:12 When God teaches us priceless lessons through our trials 32:17 these lessons are not just for our benefit alone. 32:21 They are also for the benefit of those who will go through 32:24 similar circumstances that they can gather 32:27 hope and encouragement and comfort 32:30 from what we've been through. 32:31 It's very very likely that when we pass through a dark valley 32:35 there will be others who pass through that valley behind us. 32:39 And if we can share with them what we've learned 32:41 and give them the joy that they need 32:44 as they go through that same valley 32:46 it's like leaving a well in the valley for them. 32:58 To the valley you've been through 33:04 those around you must go too. 33:10 Down the rocky path you've traveled 33:14 they will go. 33:20 If to those learning of your trial 33:26 you'll lend the secret of your smile, 33:31 you will help them 33:34 more than you will ever know. 33:42 Leave a well in the valley, 33:48 the dark and lonesome valley. 33:54 Others have to walk 33:58 that valley too! 34:03 What a blessing 34:07 when they find the well 34:10 of joy you've left behind! 34:15 Leave a well 34:18 in the valley you go through. 34:27 Blessed is the man 34:32 who has learned to understand 34:37 and become the hand for God 34:41 to those in need. 34:46 Yes, and all the tears he shed 34:52 with God's help become instead 34:57 a precious balm 35:01 that will heal the heart that bleeds. 35:08 Leave a well in the valley, 35:14 the dark and lonesome valley. 35:20 Others have to walk 35:24 that valley too! 35:29 What a blessing when they find 35:34 the well of joy you've left behind! 35:40 Leave a well 35:43 in the valley you go through... 35:49 yes, leave a well 35:53 in the valley 35:56 you go through! 36:31 When peace, like 36:37 a river, 36:41 attendeth 36:44 my way, 36:48 When sorrows 36:53 like sea billows roll - 37:02 Whatever my lot, 37:08 Thou hast taught me 37:14 to say, 37:17 "It is well, 37:21 it is well 37:26 with 37:28 my soul. " 37:35 It is well 37:42 with my soul, 37:49 It is well, 37:53 it is well 37:57 with 37:59 my soul. 38:06 And, Lord, haste 38:10 the day 38:12 when my faith shall be sight, 38:19 The clouds 38:22 be rolled back 38:25 as a scroll: 38:32 And the trumpet shall sound 38:38 and the Lord 38:41 shall descend, 38:44 Well, "even so" - 38:47 it is well 38:50 with my soul. 38:57 It is well 39:05 with my soul, 39:13 it is well, 39:17 it is well 39:21 with my soul... 39:27 it is well, 39:30 it is 39:32 well 39:39 with 39:42 my 39:44 soul. 40:13 I thirsted in a barren land 40:15 of sin and shame 40:18 and nothing satisfying there I found; 40:23 But to the blessed cross of Christ 40:25 one day I came, 40:28 where springs of living water did abound. 40:33 Drinking at the springs of living water, 40:38 Happy now am I, 40:40 My soul they satisfy; 40:43 I'm drinking at the springs of living water, 40:48 What a wonderful and bountiful supply! 40:55 O sinner, won't you come today to Calvary? 41:00 A fountain there is flowing deep and wide; 41:05 The Savior now invites you 41:08 to the water free, 41:11 Where thirsting spirits can be satisfied. 41:16 Drinking at the springs of living water, 41:21 Happy now am I, 41:24 my soul they satisfy; 41:26 I'm drinking at the springs of living water, 41:31 What a wonderful and bountiful supply! 41:36 What a wonderful and bountiful supply! 41:42 What a wonderful and bountiful supply! 41:51 Amen! 41:53 Beautiful! Thank you Tammy. 41:55 Was just in the background. 41:57 We actually... I wasn't invited; I just invited myself. 42:01 Now I wish I hadn't've because I didn't know the words 42:03 too well... but it was fun! 42:04 So Tim, we've got a little bit of time extra 42:07 than what we planned. I wonder if you could do us 42:10 a good old down-home Southern gospel song 42:13 of some kind? Maybe just play it and let your little fingers 42:16 do their thing, right? Let's do Wonderful Grace of Jesus. 44:36 Afraid it'll catch on fire... the piano. 45:20 Honestly, that ought to be against the law. 45:23 Right? Something like that shouldn't be happening 45:26 on this earth. I can't wait to go to heaven 45:28 'cause I can play like that. That's right. And so can you! 45:30 I can't wait to get to heaven. I'll sit back and listen to you 45:32 all those years. Now let me ask you... let me ask you something: 45:35 you probably studied music all your life? 45:38 Did you start as a child taking piano lessons? 45:40 You know, I took for 2 years when I was 6 and 7. 45:44 That's all? And it did not take. 45:48 Truly. I wish mine didn't take like that. 45:52 I would have taken some guitar lessons if I knew 45:54 if they didn't take I would sound that good. Right! 45:56 When I was 8 my parents let me stop 45:59 and they let me start playing for my family. 46:01 And that's where I learned how to play. 46:03 Then you started using your ear? My ear, yeah. 46:05 My dad was my influence. He played the guitar. 46:07 Yes. And sung... Absolutely. 46:10 'Cause you can't think all those chords. 46:12 I mean, it has to be... it's just something within you 46:14 that you've done for years because how could you 46:16 say: "Now I'm going to do this run? " 46:18 There's no way... Minds don't think that fast. 46:21 Well, it's amazing talent. Give me the key of C. 46:28 As I walked through the door 46:33 I sensed His presence. 46:37 And I knew this was 46:41 the place 46:44 where love abounds. 46:49 For this is the temple 46:54 Jehovah God abides in... 47:01 we are standing 47:06 in His presence 47:10 on holy ground. 47:12 You feel His presence here tonight? 47:14 Sing it with me if you know it. 47:17 We are standing 47:23 on holy ground 47:29 and I know that there 47:35 are angels 47:37 all around. 47:43 Let us praise - 47:47 let us praise - 47:50 Jesus now... 47:56 we are standing 48:00 in His presence 48:04 on holy ground. 48:12 In His presence 48:15 there is joy 48:17 beyond measure. 48:21 And at His feet 48:24 peace of mind 48:27 can still be found. 48:32 If you have a need, 48:36 my God... He has the answer. 48:43 Reach out and claim it 48:47 for child, you're standing 48:51 on holy ground. 48:54 If you feel like you're on holy ground, stand to your feet. 48:57 We are standing - sing it unto the Lord! 49:03 on holy ground. 49:10 And I know that there 49:14 are angels 49:17 all around. 49:22 Let us praise - 49:26 let us praise - 49:29 Jesus now! 49:34 We are standing 49:38 in His presence... 49:41 we are standing 49:45 in His presence... 49:47 we are standing 49:51 in His presence 49:54 on holy 49:58 ground. 50:01 Lord, we want to thank you that we are standing on 50:03 holy ground. The reason we're standing on holy ground 50:07 is that You make it holy ground, Your presence here. 50:10 Thank you that we have felt Your presence already this evening. 50:14 We pray we'll continue to walk in Your paths, 50:19 to trust You, to give our hearts totally to You, 50:23 to submit and commit our lives to You. 50:25 Lord, we realize Your coming is very soon 50:27 in the clouds of glory. 50:29 And Lord, we want to be among those who can look up and say: 50:32 "Lo, this is our God whom we have waited for. 50:35 You have come to save us! " 50:37 Thank you, Father, for hearing, for answering prayers. 50:41 We ask and pray in Jesus' name, Amen. 50:44 You can be seated. 50:45 Pastor John back here? 50:49 Why don't you come out and speak to the folks 50:51 for just a little bit. 50:56 Every time we sing that song 51:00 it causes my mind to pause and think of what would happen 51:05 if this ministry wasn't built on faith. 51:08 Now think about that for a moment: 51:10 what is faith? 51:11 One writer said that faith is "an oasis in the heart 51:16 that cannot be reached by the caravan of thinking. " 51:21 When I think about the corn- fields of southern Illinois... 51:25 And my wife and I are New Yorkers... she was born 51:30 in England; I was born in New York... 51:32 and I remember a number of years ago 51:34 one of our pastors in California was leaving to come to 3ABN. 51:39 And we did a little farewell for him 51:43 and he had a little map on his wall in his church. 51:46 He had Sacramento, California then he had this little, small 51:50 long trail and a little X which described... 51:53 He said: "I'm going to Thompsonville, Illinois! " 51:57 And we all laughed. We said: "Thompsonville? 51:59 Is there such a place called Thompsonville? " 52:04 And I never in my wildest imagination 52:06 neither did my wife and I even think 52:10 that while we were celebrating his journey to Thompsonville 52:14 I could almost see God now that... You know, sometimes 52:17 you rewind the video tape - for those of you who are old - 52:20 young folk, you go to the earlier chapter in the DVD 52:23 or for those YouTubers you just click - 52:26 and you begin where God was. 52:29 And I could see God at that moment saying: 52:31 "You have no idea... 'cause that's where you're headed. " 52:38 And I remember coming to the Midwest. 52:41 My wife and I decided one day... We kept getting an invitation 52:45 to come to the Midwest, come to the Midwest. 52:47 We were in California! We were in God's country... 52:51 I thought. We kept saying: "No, no, this is not where 52:55 we want to go: the Midwest. " And we came to visit 52:58 St. Louis. We said "Lord this is not where You want us to go. " 53:00 We kept saying: "No, no, no, no... " 53:04 And finally they said: "Don't say no until you come 53:06 and visit with us. " Well, the long and short of that 53:08 was we decided to come to St. Louis. We were there for 53:11 just about 9 months, and things didn't work out the way 53:13 that we though it should have. And I remember sitting on 53:16 the edge of my bed one day saying: "Lord, You knew this 53:18 was not going to work out. Why would You bring us from 53:22 our thriving church to St. Louis? " 53:28 My wife was out shopping and I sat on the corner of my bed 53:30 and said: "Lord, what do You want us to do with the rest 53:33 of our lives? " 53:34 And two days later we received a phone call from 53:36 Danny Shelton. I didn't know him that way. 53:39 And then it all of a sudden became clear 53:42 that Thompsonville was in our future. 53:46 Now some of you have come year after year, and you don't 53:48 know, but we're here every day 53:51 and it still doesn't fail to amaze us 53:55 when we walk through the hallways, 53:58 when we get together and talk after we may tape a program 54:02 or we sit up here and tape Sabbath School 54:04 it never ceases to amaze us 54:07 when we see Danny walk across the field or we visit with him 54:10 at home or we see him in the yard 54:12 on his Kubota doing some outdoor work 54:14 or just looking like Danny Shelton, the guy from 54:17 West Frankfort. And I say to people: "That's 54:22 the man that God placed within his heart 54:27 a vision for a dream now 54:29 that is a modern phenomenon to the glory of God. 54:34 So for those of you that are watching, 54:36 for those of you that are here 54:38 think about that faith journey. 54:41 Faith tells us to take a step when we don't even see 54:45 the staircase. Faith says to us: 54:50 "Trust an unknown future to a known God. " 54:55 And I've known Danny a long time. 54:57 We've been in the trenches, and so many of you have been 54:59 in the trenches with... And we've had those meetings 55:01 sometimes in his office where we have looked at the 55:04 ominous future and saying: "Well, we don't know what's 55:06 going to happen next month or the month after that. " 55:08 But you know what friends? You know why we're sitting here 55:10 tonight? Because God is faithful. 55:12 That's right! And when God births a vision 55:18 He simply looks for someone in whose heart He can pour. 55:23 And as we have heard before so much in the Scriptures 55:25 He is able to do exceedingly abundantly 55:29 above all that we ask or think 55:32 according to the power that is at work in us. 55:37 So as we're beginning this Camp Meeting - 55:39 this Fall 2019 Camp Meeting - 55:41 I want you to think: one day we will have our last Camp Meeting. 55:49 Don't know when that's going to be. 55:51 And we are looking forward to the day, whether it is 55:54 while we are alive or if we are by 55:58 God's understanding laid to rest before He returns 56:03 the only purpose we have here at this ministry 56:06 falls into a few categories. One: to do God's will. 56:11 Secondly, and I want you to hear this, 56:14 we refuse to take God's gift 56:18 and rob God of His glory. 56:22 You understand what I mean by that? 56:24 We love singing, but that's not for our glory. 56:27 We love teaching and preaching and giving Sabbath School 56:30 studies, but that's not for our glory. 56:32 So if you want to continue on this journey with us, 56:35 let me ask you to do this: 56:37 Somebody once said "The plane is leaving with or without you. " 56:41 Jesus is coming. 56:43 He's going to finish the work with or without us. 56:46 But what a great privilege... 56:48 what a great privilege 56:50 to unite our hearts with the hand that knows no failure. 56:56 For the God who has no defeat - 56:59 He has no loss column. 57:02 Come on, somebody. 57:03 So tonight as you begin this Camp Meeting with us 57:06 remember this: when the Lord calls you 57:09 He equips you. 57:11 When He equips you He strengthens you. 57:14 Continue praying with us as we trust an unknown future 57:19 to a known God. You want to get on board with us? 57:21 You want to travel with us? 57:23 One day by God's glory we'll hear the words: 57:26 "Well done, thou good and faithful servant. " 57:30 Praise the Lord? |
