00:07 It's time to ignite the flames of revival
00:10 with 3ABN's first Interactive Homecoming Camp Meeting. 00:14 It's time to rise and shine! 00:18 We are the light of the world. 00:21 Turn up the light; let it shine bright 00:25 like never before. 00:28 In a world that's dark 00:31 the only hope we have is Jesus Christ... 00:35 So turn up the light, 00:38 let it shine bright, 00:39 turn up, turn up the light! 00:45 Hello and welcome back to 3ABN Fall Interactive 00:49 Camp Meeting. We are so glad that you have joined us. 00:51 This interactive part's a little bit different. Usually we have 00:53 a large audience here, but you're a large audience at home. 00:56 Many of you have joined in. We've heard from you 00:58 from all over the world, the United States. 01:01 What a blessing to still be able to get the gospel out 01:03 And Camp Meeting... what a blessing it's been already! 01:05 Anointed music. Anointed messages from the Word of God. 01:09 What a privilege to be here. 01:10 Amen! I just love Camp Meeting. You know, you just open 01:13 up your heart to receive what God has for you. 01:16 I love that! We're so blessed that you have joined us. 01:19 I want to remind you that if you have not signed up 01:22 and you just... that means you just missed the music 01:25 from Tim Parton - the congregational singing - 01:27 but you don't have to miss it tomorrow night. 01:31 And every evening after the messages we always 01:34 have virtual questions and answers 01:36 which means you at home can send in your questions 01:40 and the pastors will be answering them live for you. 01:43 So... how do we sign up for the virtual part? 01:45 This has been a new experience for us at 3ABN. 01:47 It's been going well. We've been having fun with the 01:48 question and answer back and forth the last couple 01:50 of evenings. You can go to: 01:53 and you will see the big banner there that says REGISTER. 01:56 That's how you can join us 01:57 and interact with us here at 3ABN our Fall Homecoming 02:00 Camp Meeting. Just go there and register; it's very simple. 02:02 You'll be sent a link and you can join us 02:04 and be able to send your questions here to 3ABN. 02:06 Mr. Danny. And we're going to have a full day tomorrow, right? 02:09 We are! The Sabbath. 02:10 So much live programming coming across. It's incredible! 02:14 Again the opportunity. Yvonne, I've been having fun. 02:17 What about you? Oh! Camp Meeting is always such... 02:20 It's such a blessing because you get spiritually invigorated. 02:24 You know, it just really just sharpens your spiritual senses 02:28 and just... It's a blessing! I love it! 02:30 Well for me, you get away from the rest of the world. 02:33 If you go home and you turn on the television 02:34 and you turn on any of the news channels, 02:36 I don't care which one, you're on the side of the left, 02:39 the side of the right, or you're in between. 02:40 Whatever you turn on you're going to be discouraged 02:42 if you just listen to what they have to say 02:45 and what's going on around the world and here in America. 02:48 But coming to Camp Meeting we totally look away from 02:53 the world look to the Word of God - Amen - and start 02:55 remembering that we're just... Hebrews the 11th chapter... 02:59 sojourners, we're strangers here. 03:01 But we all have homing devices 03:04 waiting to be home, and that's our heavenly home. Yes! 03:07 So now Camp Meeting for each and every one of you 03:09 we're so glad you're joining us. You don't have to watch 03:12 all the bad news. Tune in to 3ABN: I promise you 03:15 you'll be blessed. We have great preaching, 03:17 great music, and it's just an incredible time. 03:20 And thank God for the technology that we are able to do this 03:24 around the world and thank God for you. 03:26 We thank you for your love and prayers and financial support. 03:29 As we always say: "Without you, there would be no 3ABN. " 03:33 So thank you so much for what you do. 03:35 Some of these folks literally for 35 years 03:38 have been supporting this minis- try. That's absolutely amazing 03:41 to me and I'm so thankful. All of us are 03:44 and appreciate being here and glad you're here 03:46 with us for Camp Meeting. Amen to that. 03:49 This evening again we have another hour of music. 03:51 We're going to introduce the musicians in just a moment. 03:53 But we have also some sharing of the Word, 03:55 and sweetie, you're on tonight as well 03:57 for an hour? And then tell us about what you're going to 03:59 be speaking and also Pastor John Lomacang. 04:01 Yes, we've been so blessed by Pastor John Lomacang. 04:03 He's been our featured speaker this entire time. 04:06 The theme of course is Turn Up The Light! 04:08 So my message this evening is called Turn Up Your Faith. 04:13 OK. I don't know if you've ever felt like 04:16 your faith is weak? Maybe some mornings you wake up 04:19 and it feels really strong and then some days 04:21 maybe it doesn't feel so strong. 04:23 I was just reading this morning 04:25 John chapter 15. I love that chapter! 04:28 The vine and the branches. 04:30 In verse 16 it says: "You have not chosen Me 04:33 but I - meaning God - has chosen us 04:37 and ordained us that we should go and bring forth fruit. " 04:40 You know, it's not even about our faith. 04:43 It's about the faithfulness of our Father 04:46 who holds us when we go through those difficult times 04:49 and who brings us through on the other side. 04:52 You know, Yvonne, I like Lamentations 3. 04:55 Yes! "It is of the Lord's mercy 04:57 that we are not consumed. His compassions fail not. 05:00 They are new every morning. " All right! 05:03 "Great is His faithfulness. " 05:05 So tonight we're going to focus on the faithfulness of our God 05:09 the faithfulness of your God at home as well. 05:12 Amen. Amen. You know, Dr. Yvonne as we get started here 05:14 and then go to the music would you mind to open in prayer 05:16 this evening? Oh, I'd love to. 05:18 To join the Holy Spirit, the Father in heaven, 05:20 of course Jesus Christ and our viewers at home. 05:21 Yes, absolutely. 05:23 Oh Lord our God, we just praise Your name. 05:26 We thank you so very much for the privilege 05:29 of being able to be together, whether it's interactive 05:33 or whether it's here in person we just thank you, Lord, 05:36 that You are in our midst and that You are faithful. 05:39 That you are the faithful God: El-HaNe'- eman. 05:42 The faithful God. And so we praise You and we thank You 05:45 and we bless Your name. And we ask for Your presence, 05:48 Your power, Your anointing, Lord. 05:50 We ask for the presence and guidance of Your Holy Spirit 05:54 that He may be with us throughout this whole process, 05:58 Lord, that we may honor You. 06:00 We are here to honor You: the great God of the universe. 06:04 We thank You and praise You in Jesus' name, Amen. Amen. 06:09 You know, Greg mentioned the music. 06:11 And we have some great musical... I hate to say guests. 06:15 Let's just say family - yes - that's here with us. 06:18 And of course Tim is here as you can see behind us 06:22 then we have Ryan Day's going to come out in a moment. 06:24 But also we've got Big Gene McDonald. 06:26 And when you... He's one that... 'course I look up to 06:29 a lot of people but he's one of those I look up to him in more 06:32 than just his height or stature: 06:34 as a Christian, as a musician, as a singer. 06:37 Just a great person to be around; a great heart for God. 06:40 And then Reggie and Ladye Love Smith. Who couldn't love... 06:44 love those folk, being around them? 06:46 My daughter Melody. I don't think I'm prejudice 06:49 at all, but you wouldn't be with your own... 06:51 So glad that she's here. And God's blessed her 06:54 with so many gifts, and I'm so glad that she's here also. 06:57 Ryan and Tim. But we also have a special guest 07:01 that this is going to be a first for 3ABN. 07:05 Hopefully not the last but a first. 07:07 So we're going to have a little fun. My uncle Clinton Johns 07:10 is here. He moved to Ohio this last year. 07:15 So... from southern Illinois originally. 07:18 Lived in Michigan a lot of years. 07:20 But he wrote a poem. It's really great 07:21 and it's called something like Over The Hill. 07:24 So now, me and you... Greg and Jill: 07:27 you don't have to worry about that. 07:30 Maybe those folk who are looking. Sorry, I said it. 07:33 Can we? Well, there's no stoppin' it now. 07:35 We've already... cat's out of the bag. 07:37 I already said it. But we're... Over the hill, 07:41 if somebody's tellin' you you're over the hill 07:43 well Clinton has some answers about that. 07:45 Yes. So we're gonna get some of the singers here. 07:47 We're going to just get behind him and sing a little bit - 07:50 nice - as the Holy Spirit leads. So 07:52 it's going to be a fun hour, fun music time 07:55 and rest of the night. 07:56 Be praying for Jill and Pastor John as they break 07:59 the Word of God and the bread of life. 08:02 All right, we ready? Yeah, let's do it! 08:05 You know, I heard you talking about we need some good news. 08:09 You can always turn on the TV and find out some BAD news 08:12 but I've asked my buddy here, Ryan. We're going to talk about 08:15 some good things, all right? Let's do it! 08:26 There's no need to walk along in darkness. 08:31 Life is so much better in the light. 08:36 There's no reason you should be defeated... 08:41 God will fight your battles with His might. 08:46 Walk away from darkness; 08:48 leave behind defeat. 08:51 In Jesus still is happiness complete. 08:56 Our God specializes in good things! 09:01 Things that you and I really need. 09:05 Good things for the body and spirit... 09:10 all you have to do is just believe! 09:15 Good things... yes, good things... 09:20 all you have to do is just believe. 09:25 We should never feel alone and lonely. 09:30 Jesus is an ever-present Friend. 09:35 We don't have to worry over past things... 09:40 He forgives our failures and our sins. 09:45 Let Him be your Savior, 09:47 let Him be your Friend: 09:50 One who can accompany and cleanse. 09:55 Our God specializes in good things! 10:00 Things that you and I really need. 10:05 Good things for the body and spirit... 10:09 all you have to do is just believe. 10:14 Our God specializes in good things! 10:19 Things that you and I really need. 10:24 Good things for the body and spirit... 10:29 oh, all you have to do is just believe.. 10:34 Good things... yes, good things... 10:39 all you have to do is just believe... 10:44 Good things... oh, good things... 10:49 all you must do is 10:51 trust and believe! 10:58 Laughter. Lord, I... 42:57 Lord, I will trust 43:07 in You. 43:46 A wonderful Savior 43:53 is Jesus my Lord, 43:59 a wonderful Savior 44:05 to me; 44:09 He hideth my soul in 44:16 the cleft of the rock, 44:21 where rivers of pleasure 44:27 I see. 44:35 When clothed in His brightness 44:40 transported I'll rise 44:46 to meet Him 44:49 in clouds of the sky, 44:56 His perfect salvation, 45:03 His wonderful love, 45:09 I'll shout 45:11 with the millions on high! 45:19 He hideth my soul 45:25 in the cleft of the rock 45:30 That shadows 45:33 a dry, thirsty land; 45:40 He hideth my life 45:45 in the depths of His love 45:51 and covers me there 45:56 with His hand, 46:02 And covers me 46:06 there 46:08 with His hand... 46:15 and covers me 46:20 there 46:23 with His hand. 46:48 Amen... beautiful! 46:49 I don't know about you all... somebody feeling the Holy Spirit 46:52 around here? Amen! Wow! Isn't that incredible? 46:55 Beautiful! Oh, we've got Uncle Clinton here, I see. 47:00 Yea, yea! Uncle Clinton, hold your mic real up close. 47:06 Does it still work? I've been squeezing it pretty hard. 47:09 Yeah, I think it's workin' OK. 47:11 We're so glad that you're here. Uncle Clinton Johns 47:14 and he's a cowboy as you can tell. 47:16 And was married to my Aunt Ruby, my dad's sister, 47:20 for many years. 47:21 They have a love story we can talk about some other time 47:25 but it's been really amazing that they were... 47:27 What would you call? Teenagers. 47:29 You were kind of boyfriend and girlfriend. 47:31 Then you all left and married and were what? 40, 50 years? 47:36 Your spouses died and you ended up talking again 47:40 together and then remarried quite a few years ago. 47:42 Yeah, we just kind of took up where we left off. 47:46 Fifty years later... that's pretty good! 47:49 But we started out as little kids. 47:52 Yeah... absolutely. 47:54 So the Johnses and the Sheltons whether he likes it or not 47:57 we're related through cousins and marriage 48:00 and all kinds of stuff. One or the other. 48:02 I don't think we're both but we're one or the other. 48:04 We're related, and let you all decide that. 48:08 But his brother was married to my aunt 48:13 which was the sister, so you had 2 brothers and 2 sisters 48:17 married, too, in the same family. 48:19 But anyway, for the years... Now you lived in Michigan 48:23 for a lot of years. You were a sheriff up there, right? 48:25 Yeah, I was on the Sheriff's Department. 48:28 Sheriff's Department. Mounted division. Mounted division. 48:31 That's right... he's a real cowboy for sure. 48:34 And but you've always loved music and you write 48:38 songs and play guitar and sing some. 48:40 And so we're asking you to do something that you've never done 48:44 before. You wrote a song and it's called Over The Hill. 48:47 I thought you wrote it with me in mind, 48:49 but you said it's just me and maybe others my age and older. 48:52 You're a big influence. 48:56 OK... don't be too honest, too BRUTALLY honest. 49:00 But this song, we heard it and you kind of sang at our house. 49:04 Big Gene, you were there... Reggie and Ladye. 49:07 And so we said: "Why don't we ask you to 49:09 maybe do this song that you wrote. 49:11 You're going to talk it. He does play guitar but he 49:15 didn't bring it this time. But this time he's going to do 49:17 the talking. We've got some of these amateur singers 49:20 behind you here if they'll suit you. 49:23 Yeah, I'm not worried. There're more people here than you. 49:29 OK... don't try to figure that one out either. 49:32 But we love each other for sure. 49:34 I'm very thankful for you. This song is a tear-jerker. 49:40 Is that what that is? 49:41 That's what it is really because you think about it: 49:43 all of our lives and what may seem like when people 49:48 are telling us: "Hey, you guys are over the hill" 49:51 or talking about it. He's going to explain what that really 49:53 means. It's really not such a bad thing. 49:56 So we're going to start out with just a little bit of a song 50:00 that you already know and then we're going to have you 50:02 do your part. All right? 50:12 If we never meet again 50:17 this side of heaven, 50:21 I will meet you 50:24 on that beautiful shore. 50:32 "You're over the hill. " 50:34 Now there's a phrase often used 50:37 by folks that are younger than you. 50:39 They seem to think it's a bad thing to do 50:43 or a place they don't want to be. 50:47 They don't realize when you top that old rise 50:51 the view sort of clears up a mite. 50:54 And when you look back at the hill you climbed 50:58 with God's help you pretty much handled it right. 51:03 Ah, there were mistakes you made 51:05 but there were lessons you learned about what's important 51:09 in life like family and friends 51:13 and your faith in Him. 51:16 That's what surely makes living all right. 51:21 Oh, you had rivers to cross and heavy burdens to bear 51:25 that you thought would sure get you down. 51:27 But it was just the Lord's way of keeping you strong 51:31 till you could reach higher ground. 51:34 And lookin' ahead at the road you'll take 51:38 when you start down the other side 51:40 where with the Lord's help you know you'll enjoy all the good. 51:47 And the bad you'll just take in stride. 51:51 "You're over the hill" people will say 52:04 OK... But I suppose 52:11 that it's true, but if you look up you can almost 52:15 see heaven right there. 52:18 And the Lord's there, and He's preparing a place 52:22 for no one but you. 52:28 If we never meet again 52:33 this side of heaven, 52:39 I will meet you 52:41 on that beautiful 52:46 shore. 52:55 Well, that has to flood you with a lot of memories 52:59 and you think back. It's kind of one of those songs 53:01 that's hard to get through, but aren't you glad 53:03 that you know Jesus? Oh, you bet. 53:06 You haven't always been a Christian. 53:08 Not always, no. 53:10 Started out one but drifted away. 53:13 But I've gotta tell you this: 53:16 what actually brought me back 53:19 was when I found out about 3ABN 53:22 and how hard they worked to make that. 53:24 And I know God had to be right there on their shoulders. 53:27 Danny had God helpin' him all the way. 53:30 And that's why I'm a Christian today. 53:34 Ohh! He started watching the programs 53:38 and listening to the programs. 53:40 Came back and started working 53:44 here at 3ABN and at Thompsonville church. 53:50 Right. And after a few years 53:53 there I got baptized. That's right! 53:56 And we all wore cowboy hats. Jim Gilley was there 54:00 and Trinity. Trinity... a bunch of us 'cause he... 54:02 I didn't know if they liked my hat or not, but whenever 54:06 I went out to get baptized most of them standing around 54:09 the baptizing pool were wearing cowboy hats. 54:12 We brought ours. He probably sleeps in one, 54:15 I don't know. I've never been around 54:16 when he sleeps, but I rarely ever see him without it. 54:20 But we love each other. We have this relationship 54:23 where we kind of I'll call it "dog" each other. 54:26 Once in a while we joke each other. 54:27 But I told him, I said: "Let's behave on the air 54:30 so people think we love each other. " 54:32 But no, honestly we really do. 54:35 And so thank you so much for being here today. 54:37 Well thank you. I thank all of you guys. 54:39 So I know these are some of your favorite people back here, 54:43 too. Oh it is! Yeah! 54:44 Wonderful group. Why don't we just do? We've got a minute 54:47 or two. Why don't we just do? I've really felt the presence 54:49 of the Lord here. Tim, maybe you could hit us a key 54:52 and we'll just sing the chorus of Surely the Presence. 54:56 Surely the presence 55:00 of the Lord is in this place. 55:06 I can feel His mighty power 55:11 and His grace. 55:16 I can hear the brush of angels' wings, 55:21 I see glory on each face. 55:28 Surely the presence 55:32 of the Lord is in this place. Can you do the verse? 55:39 In the midst of His children 55:45 the Lord said He would be. 55:51 It doesn't take very many... 55:55 it can be just two or three. 56:00 And I feel that same sweet Spirit 56:06 that I've felt oft' times before 56:12 Oh surely I can say 56:18 "I've been with my Lord! " 56:24 Everybody: 56:25 Surely the presence 56:29 of the Lord is in this place. 56:35 I can feel His mighty power 56:40 and His grace. 56:45 I can hear the brush of angels' wings, 56:51 I see glory on each face. 56:57 Surely the presence 57:01 of the Lord is in this place... 57:10 surely the presence 57:16 of the Lord 57:18 is in 57:21 this place. Amen. 57:26 Hey, we'll be back in just a moment. |
