08:52 And then it's come to study the word of God this evening.
08:56 I praise the Lord. Well, before we go any further, what should
09:00 we do?
09:01 We always invite the Holy Spirit. So let's put together
09:04 father in heaven.
09:07 Praise be to you, Lord.
09:09 Thank you. God for this wonderful can't meeting we've
09:11 had so far.
09:13 You have showed up and, you know, bless tremendously Lord.
09:16 We thank you.
09:18 The low. Now as we take on
09:20 very sensitive topic,
09:23 we're talking about
09:25 the power that you provide us
09:28 to endure trials,
09:32 lord, sometimes we don't understand these trials.
09:34 We don't understand the nature of these trials, his
09:36 tribulations,
09:39 but I pray God that you will bring clarity during this hour.
09:42 You will speak through me, lord, and that every word every
09:45 thought every action will be that of yours.
09:48 And every single person here at camp meeting of those from all
09:51 around the world will hear
09:53 the special message. They being blessed that we all
09:57 drawn closer to Jesus. We ask
10:00 and Jesus holy name in them and them
10:04 power to undo or
10:07 trials.
10:11 Joe Hoss of Fat
10:15 One is naming their kid that anytime soon are they?
10:20 But nonetheless Keane, Jay Haas a fat of Judah.
10:25 >> He was a man that wasn't perfect. He did make some
10:28 mistakes.
10:30 By the time you get to the 19th chapter of this. The book of
10:34 Second Chronicles,
10:36 you see that Hossa fat has been convicted by the spirit of the
10:41 Lord.
10:42 He has begun ordering the tear down the projects of all of the
10:48 idols in the images throughout all of June.
10:52 And Joe Hoss of Fat has begun now all putting Israel on a
10:57 path of revival
11:00 he has been putting is real on a path, pointing them back to
11:04 the Lord. He has set. His leaders even has put out and
11:07 said judges threw out all the cities of Judah
11:12 and we will learn that many times in the Bible. We see
11:15 revival and the return of the people to God in the midst of
11:20 crisis
11:22 in often in situations that man cannot fix.
11:29 We find ourselves in Second chronicles chapter 20.
11:32 We're going to begin with verses one through 3. Notice
11:35 what the Bible says.
11:37 It says it happened after this that the people of Moab with
11:41 the people of M A and others with them. Besides the
11:44 ammonites
11:45 came to battle against Josh, the fat,
11:49 then some came and told the hospital saying a great
11:52 multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea.
11:57 Hossa fed fears
11:59 and set himself to seek the Lord proclaimed a fast
12:03 throughout all Judah.
12:05 This is so Judah gather together to ask help from the
12:08 Lord.
12:10 And from all the cities of Judah, they came to see
12:14 the Lord
12:16 you see crisis
12:19 well often burst, forth, fear.
12:23 It will bring out your insecurities.
12:26 It will sometimes even bring traumas
12:30 and sometimes terrors that will linger with us for some time.
12:36 But in this particular situation, by the time you get
12:38 to verse 12,
12:40 you see the very nature of the situation. John Ossof at has
12:44 his enemies closing in on him. And he notes that there is
12:48 nothing that he or the children of Israel can do. They are
12:51 stuck
12:52 and they're in a situation in which they cannot fix. In fact,
12:56 notice first, 12 0nd chronicles chapter 20 and verse 12 notice
12:59 that the Bible says and this is Josh, the fat speaking, the
13:02 people of God speaking and got are speaking out to him and it
13:05 says are gone. Will you not judge them? So they're pointing
13:08 at the enemies and what are you not going to bring judgment
13:11 against these people for? We have no power against this
13:14 great multitude that is coming against us. Nor do we know what
13:20 to do.
13:22 Never been in this situation.
13:24 You ever been in a crisis in your life where you have been
13:27 brought to a situation in which you are in a crisis and you do
13:30 not know what to do.
13:34 You feel a sense of powerlessness and there's
13:38 nothing you can do to change the situation.
13:42 Fear and insecurity is not president. If it's something
13:47 that, you know, you can change bring remedy to if you know
13:51 that there's something you can do about it. Those fears,
13:55 those anxieties, those insecurities, they're not there
13:58 because, well, we might just have an answer for this.
14:02 But the moment you realize you are totally powerless and have
14:07 no solution,
14:08 then comes the feet.
14:10 Then comes the anxiety,
14:12 the insecurities and often
14:18 we do go on to read the story and know that by the time you
14:22 get to verse 17, the people of God have already cried out to
14:26 the lower. They said, well, we have we have nothing to add.
14:29 The situation is nothing we can do. God response. He speaks
14:32 through his his his prophet and the prophet gives the message
14:36 to the children of his one 11 for 17 because got provides the
14:39 answer for this particular situation. They didn't know
14:42 what to do. They didn't have an answer but got says this isn't
14:45 your battle.
14:48 You're not to fight just that.
14:51 In fact, here's the words he used. He just he said this
14:54 position yourselves.
14:56 You see oftentimes we find ourselves in trials and
15:00 tribulations in crisis situations. And oftentimes what
15:05 we must do is have faith in the lord and position ourselves as
15:09 got says. And then he gives us the word ISIS stand and observe
15:14 and watch the salvation of the lower.
15:19 But of course,
15:21 this was not the case for the disciples in March after 4.
15:28 When we get over to my chapter 4, we read about a very scary
15:32 crisis that the disciples found themselves in.
15:37 We're going to pick up in March after 4 beginning with verse.
15:39 33 34 just to set the foundation year versus 33
15:43 $0.34. And with many such parables, he spoke the word to
15:47 them as they were able to hear it. But without a parable,
15:50 he did not speak to them.
15:52 And when they were alone, he explained all things to his
15:56 disciples. Now, if you read the 4th chapter of Matthew, you,
16:00 if I should be the 4th chapter of market will find the Jesus
16:03 has been preaching. He's been declaring the gospel. He's been
16:06 speaking all day to the multitudes and he's been doing
16:08 this in the form of parables, OK, Jesus often did this.
16:12 He would he would use these little short stories that often
16:15 declare tot some type of moral lesson and he would use these
16:18 parables to declare or 2 like in the Kingdom of God or help
16:22 to make the Kingdom of God and God's will clearer to the
16:25 children of Israel. And so that's what he's been doing all
16:28 day long. But now the sun is starting to 6. The day is
16:31 coming to an end and notice what we find their inverse.
16:35 35 of our chapter for reading verse. 35 36. It says on the
16:40 same day
16:42 when evening had come, he said to them,
16:45 let us cross over to the other side.
16:48 Now, when they had left the multitude, they took him along
16:51 the boat as he was
16:53 and other little boats were also with the month. Many times
16:57 did not miss that point that this wasn't just one vote.
16:59 This was a a multitude of boats, little small boats with
17:01 them. So there was many of the disciples with them. But notice
17:05 here just want to bring this out very clearly
17:08 in this particular situation is a few things that we can glean
17:10 from the story in from this passage,
17:13 the disciples
17:15 we're in, the will of God
17:20 we catch, you know, you with me
17:22 in this story so far prior to this issue, re,
17:26 there's nothing that gives us any indication
17:28 that they were disobedient. They had kept all of God's
17:32 commands up to this point. They were obedient to what
17:34 crushed and told them to do. They were living in the will of
17:38 GAAP. Okay. And not only were they living in the will of God,
17:43 but Jesus is in the boat with them.
17:47 We do together on this, OK, let's approach this story,
17:50 perhaps maybe and look at it through a lens that we haven't
17:52 seen before. Because many times we use this story, we've heard
17:55 the story may be our primary classes or maybe in our youth
17:58 classes, a story that we tell our kids and we might animated
18:02 and we might be a little charismatic. We tell them that
18:05 we see it kind of like a small little children story that we
18:08 tell them to encourage them that Jesus is in control of all
18:11 things. And all of those things are true. But let's put on a
18:13 different lands, OK? And let's look at it a little differently
18:16 here.
18:18 They're in the will of God. Jesus is in the boat with them.
18:24 But there's a problem.
18:26 We pick up a reading in verse 37 notice that the Bible says
18:30 and a great wind storm or oats
18:34 and the waves beat into the boat so that it was already
18:36 filling.
18:38 But he was in the stern
18:41 sleep
18:42 on a pillow. I've never understood this part of the
18:45 story. I have to be honest.
18:47 I still to this day read this and I say how in the world
18:51 was this brother
18:53 asleep
18:54 in the start of this boat
18:57 when this powerful wind storm came up.
19:01 But that's what it says. He was asleep
19:04 on a pillow
19:06 and notice it says and they woke him
19:09 and said to him.
19:12 >> Do you not care?
19:14 The we're passion
19:17 verse. 39 then heroes and review the win and said to the
19:20 sea, peace be still
19:23 and the wind ceased and it was a great call.
19:29 But he said to them,
19:31 why are you so fearful
19:35 that you have no faith
19:39 and they feared exceedingly and set to one another?
19:43 Who can this be
19:46 that even the wind
19:48 and the sea
19:50 obey him
19:56 even
19:58 in the will of God.
20:01 It rains.
20:04 If you want to tweet something tweet that
20:06 even
20:08 in the will of God,
20:10 the rains come.
20:13 >> The trials of this life are often merciless. It comes down
20:18 upon us and oftentimes it merely consumes a summit.
20:21 Do I have a witness in here?
20:23 I'm talking about situations where it's so overwhelming.
20:27 Has anyone ever been in a situation where you felt like
20:30 you were just going to drown in the crisis or in the trial and
20:33 tribulation you're going through? It was just
20:35 overwhelming to you and you didn't know what to do.
20:39 Well, this is what the disciples are going through at
20:41 this moment.
20:43 Let's see what we have to understand. As we take a deeper
20:45 look at the store. We find that actually this storm situation
20:50 is threefold.
20:52 There are actually 3 storms that they're facing. What then
20:56 this one storm,
20:59 you see the first storm.
21:01 It's a circumstantial storm in which they could exercise no
21:06 control.
21:08 They can't control the when they can't control the sea.
21:12 They can't control the rain. They it's totally out of their
21:16 control. And this goes to show us that you can be in the will
21:20 of God and a storm and be able to do absolutely nothing about
21:25 it.
21:27 So that's the first storm within the storm that they're
21:31 facing.
21:32 They're totally
21:34 out of control in the sense that they have no control over
21:38 the circumstance.
21:41 Number 2, this is the second storm.
21:43 You might call it an emotional story.
21:47 These brothers a terrified
21:50 they're experiencing quite a storm in and of itself of
21:54 emotional instability. And you know this to be the case
21:58 because in verse 40, would Jesus say to them?
22:01 He said, why are you so fearful?
22:06 You see storms well often come into your life and it will
22:10 immediately sparked some type of emotion
22:15 and that matter whatever type of storm that you're dealing
22:17 with in your life, it doesn't matter what type of trial or
22:19 tribulation it could be that you're scared about that
22:22 doctors report. You just got it could be that you're scared
22:24 about that financial struggle that you're going through.
22:27 You could be a little fearful about the direction of the
22:30 relationship that you're involved in. I'm talking about
22:33 something so deep, so devastating, so vast that you
22:37 cannot control it. And it brings about a storm of emotion
22:42 within you, but you cannot control.
22:47 But then there's a 3rd storm and you might call this one
22:50 a theological storm
22:53 or maybe a spiritual.
22:58 We know this to be the case because notice what
23:02 they say that Jesus inverse. 38,
23:06 what are they saying?
23:09 Do you not
23:15 that we are perishing.
23:22 You see these brothers start questioning
23:26 what they have been believing all this time and whether or
23:29 not it's even true.
23:33 They start questioning
23:36 the word of God.
23:38 There are even questioning
23:40 the character of Scott.
23:45 They're thinking probably within themselves in this
23:48 situation.
23:51 What I'm hearing about you
23:54 and what I'm experiencing
23:57 and they're not matching up.
24:00 I hear what the pastor preaches in and says about you on
24:03 Sabbath.
24:06 But what I'm going through in my life and what I'm
24:08 experiencing,
24:10 it's it's not matching up on. I'm experiencing 2 different
24:14 realities.
24:16 In other words, I don't know
24:19 if I can believe this
24:22 anymore.
24:25 Often times more in a crisis. We're going through a trial or
24:29 tribulation, depending on the intensity, depending on the
24:32 nature of that tribulation, we might be led to ask questions
24:36 like, where are you or
24:39 or in the aftermath, where were you? Lorne
24:45 Lord, you don't care about me
24:49 because if you cared about me,
24:52 I wouldn't be
24:54 going
24:56 through this
24:59 or do you not care
25:01 that we are perishing?
25:05 And so what do they do?
25:07 They wake Jesus up
25:11 our chapter 4 verse. 39 40. Let's look at it again.
25:15 Then he rolls and rebuked the wind and sent to the sea.
25:18 Peace be still and the wind ceased and there was a great
25:20 calm. But he said to them, why are you so fearful?
25:25 How is it that you have
25:27 no faith?
25:30 How is it that we know? I don't know Jesus, maybe because I'm
25:35 getting ready to die.
25:36 [MUSIC]
25:42 You see there completely overwhelmed by the
25:46 circumstances in this situation.
25:50 But keep in mind
25:52 what Jesus told them at the beginning of this whole
25:54 experience that they're forgetting about
25:57 Mark Chapter 4 verse. 35, what is he saying first, 35
26:02 let
26:03 us
26:06 crossover
26:09 to the other side.
26:11 It is like, oh, I see, OK, so in the beginning.
26:15 >> In the beginning, you're all excited, shouting, you know,
26:18 worked up because you get to get in the boat with me and go
26:21 to the other side. But when the circumstances show up, they
26:26 overrode what I said.
26:29 Your problem over rolled my promise and now you're living
26:34 in the light of the problem and no longer living in the light
26:38 of my promise.
26:40 He's got a little smug about this got doesn't necessarily
26:43 want you to deny a circumstance or to deny your situation a
26:47 storm of the storm, right? And it's OK to acknowledge that
26:51 you're going through a storm. It's OK to acknowledge the
26:54 reality that you're going through a crisis that you're
26:57 going through a deep and dark despairing time, a discouraging
27:02 deep dot tribulation or some type of circumstances arose in
27:06 your lot. What God doesn't want you to do as he doesn't want
27:09 you to allow your circumstance to Trump his word.
27:16 >> And it says our chapter 4 verse 41.
27:20 >> And they feared
27:22 exceedingly
27:24 and said to one another.
27:29 Can this be
27:32 that even the wind and the sea
27:36 obey him?
27:39 You see the disciples were on a journey
27:42 of discovery,
27:46 the trials.
27:47 >> The tribulations, the hardships of the slot as
27:50 inconvenient and painful as they often au
27:54 often lead you on a journey to discover that is they lead you
27:59 on a journey of discovery of who you're dealing with
28:07 and he wants one thing to know. God. In theory,
28:12 you know, I'm talking about
28:14 it's one thing to know God. In theory, it's another thing
28:17 to know God, inexperience and truthfully in deeply in
28:21 relationship.
28:23 >> He's my rock my sword and my shield. He's willing to move
28:27 away. Wow,
28:29 that's my Jesus.
28:32 >> And that sounds all good on its going to get your name in.
28:36 But, you know, at the end of the day, we don't need a little
28:38 cutie statements.
28:41 We're going through a crisis.
28:44 We don't need
28:46 high sounding
28:48 theological vernacular.
28:51 More in the middle of a crisis.
28:54 You see in a crisis, you need to experience
28:57 the living God
29:00 and sometimes God will ignite or allow storms
29:05 in your life.
29:06 Get your attention.
29:09 And some people have a hard time wrapping their minds
29:11 around that re out of the golf allows that well, then he must
29:15 not be a God of love that he would allow these circumstances
29:19 of these trials and tribulations of these
29:22 hardships, these difficulties to come into my life. He must
29:26 not be a god of love, but I'll tell you, oftentimes God would
29:30 allow these things because nothing ever will grab your
29:33 attention better than party
29:35 troubles trials, difficulties, persecutions and tribulations.
29:41 That's why Cs Lewis is famous for writing these words.
29:44 He said pain
29:46 insist upon being attended to
29:50 God whispers to us and our pleasures. He speaks in our
29:53 consciences, but shouts in our pains.
29:58 It is his megaphone
30:00 to rouse
30:02 a deaf world.
30:06 You know, sometimes we may not be able to
30:09 hear the voice of God in times of prosperity,
30:13 but God and his mercy
30:15 since adversity
30:17 when we needed.
30:19 And if God allows you to be placed within the pit, I just
30:23 want to see just a show of hands here.
30:24 >> How many of you have ever been in a pit before in your
30:28 life? You you've been down in that dark pit and it seems like
30:31 you would never ever going to get out. Sometimes Gobert allow
30:35 you to be placed in that pit no matter what the duration or
30:38 intensity, it's because he has a purpose. And I want to share
30:41 with you some of those purposes because many people question,
30:43 well, we've got allows these will. Why would he allow such a
30:46 thing to come up on my watch? Sometimes we might have soon in
30:50 our life that he's trying to get to.
30:54 Maybe he has since some people.
30:57 Maybe he has sent some signs.
30:59 Maybe he sent some type of indication to you and the Holy
31:03 Spirit's been screaming at you.
31:06 >> Not that the Holy Spirit literally scream that you get
31:08 my point.
31:10 >> The holy Spirit is right there telling you every day
31:12 that you need to surrender. That's and let go of that soon.
31:15 But you just continue to live in that state of city fullness.
31:20 And so God will sometimes allow a trial to come into your life
31:24 because he's trying to get to the sin in your lot.
31:29 Perhaps there's something he wants you to surrender to him
31:32 that you've not let go yet or maybe you're headed in a
31:35 direction. That's not a good direction. You're headed down a
31:39 path. That's not the path that he wants you to be on. We all
31:42 like sheep have gone astray in turn everyone to our own way,
31:45 but only the way of God is the right way. And sometimes when
31:48 when we don't listen to the voice of God, when he tells us
31:52 to go this way, but yet we continue to go that way in
31:55 order for us to change direction. Sometimes God we'll
31:59 send a trial or tribulation or some type of eye opening
32:03 attention, getting circumstance in our lives and hopes that you
32:06 will change the path direction you're on into the path
32:09 direction of him.
32:13 >> And of course, last but not least he's working to conform
32:16 with you
32:18 and to his image
32:20 into his
32:22 righteous character.
32:25 Sometimes it may not be necessarily anything bad or
32:28 negative that you have bought,
32:31 but rather God is allowing certain circumstances to come
32:34 in your life because he's preparing you for his kingdom.
32:40 >> He is shaping and molding you. He is the Potter. We are
32:44 the plate and he's bending the shaping of these molding and
32:48 he's breaking you and any which way that he can. People put you
32:51 in the heat of some of life's differ. Most difficult trials
32:55 in order like a silversmith to prepare you and make us pure is
32:59 to be
33:00 repaired his kingdom.
33:02 >> Now to this point, some of the studies and some of the
33:05 some of the stories that we've mentioned here, you might still
33:07 run it all the stores, the Bible's flooded with them.
33:09 Up of people who fell into trial. They fell into some type
33:12 of difficult circumstance, much like the disciples, much like
33:15 to Hossa fat and many other stores where, you know, we're
33:18 in the trial. It was difficult in the moment, but God brought
33:22 them through it or not brought them out of that or he saved
33:25 them from it in the end.
33:28 But what about those times when you fall into the trials
33:35 and God,
33:37 it's strangely and conspicuously.
33:45 Now we're talking
33:48 when Matthew Chapter 11.
33:50 I want to take you on a journey through the New Testament.
33:54 I want to show you 3 biblical examples
33:58 of people who were living in the will of goat.
34:02 They fell into some type of crisis in their life
34:09 and when they needed God the most,
34:13 what are they received?
34:15 Silence
34:17 Matthew Chapter 11 versus one through 3. Notice what the
34:19 Bible says. Now it came to pass when Jesus finished commanding
34:22 his 12 disciples that he departed from there to teach
34:25 him to preach in their cities. And when John had heard
34:28 imprisoned about the work, surprised he sent to his
34:30 disciples and said to him, are you the coming one or do we
34:35 look for another?
34:43 And then this is the same, John. That's this belly deep in
34:46 the money, Jordan River with Jesus.
34:49 This is the same job that when he saw Jesus coming, what did
34:52 he say? Behold
34:55 the lamb of God. Who takes away
34:58 the scent of the workout? He knows she's this was the
35:01 most site
35:03 yet. By the time you get to Matthew Chapter 11, something's
35:06 different.
35:07 Something changed.
35:12 John, the Baptist,
35:14 you see John is in prison because
35:16 hair is in prison because he rebuked Herat.
35:19 And ultimately there's this little heart of girl that did a
35:24 little dance and into him up in prison. You've got understand,
35:27 John was a man of principle. He's not into, you know,
35:30 politics and policy and all that stuff. He's a man of
35:33 principle. He's a man of God. And he has been call for
35:36 special purpose
35:38 and he knows that. But yet, by the time you get to this
35:41 particular situation, now he's in prison. And you got to know
35:44 that this brother in all of his humanity day in and day out as
35:47 he's behind prison bars, he's deal. He's trying to wrap his
35:50 mind around the why of it all
35:54 Jesus is
35:56 Jesus is out there and
35:58 and I'm I'm here
36:01 seems like it would make so much more sense for me to be
36:03 out there. I would do him so much more good. I would be so
36:07 much more useful for the Kingdom of God in preaching the
36:10 gospel of I was out there and not in here. So what does he
36:13 do? He since some people to confirm our view, the coming
36:18 one
36:19 or do we look for another?
36:21 You have to ask the question, where is the confidence now?
36:24 Something's happened
36:26 in John's Milo. He's in this present situation. So his
36:29 disciples finally come back with the report, right? You can
36:31 imagine the report. Yes.
36:33 >> That's right. It's him. He's the messiah. He can find
36:37 it.
36:38 And you can imagine John's excitement now. He's exciting.
36:40 He's walking around that and that prison cell every single
36:43 day. Haha, he's looking at the door just waiting any day for
36:46 Jesus to appear right there to sell door excited and smiling
36:50 for it. Hey, Kuz,
36:53 I'm here to get you out.
36:55 We've got some preaching to do. We've got some stuff will turn
36:58 this well right-side up with the gospel and he's looking
37:01 every single day.
37:02 >> But Jesus never shows up. Ultimately what he received was
37:08 sign it.
37:11 You can imagine going all the way to the chopping block.
37:17 Surely Jesus will show up.
37:20 >> Yes, rise a miracle worker. He all right. He's going to
37:23 show up. He's just going to speak a word or wave his hand.
37:25 He's going to do something. He's going to get me out of the
37:28 situation.
37:30 What did you get
37:33 silence?
37:35 And this is the same guy.
37:38 The Jesus called The Greatest Born
37:43 any woman,
37:45 the greatest
37:47 of all
37:48 profits
37:50 silence.
37:53 Now we move on to John Chapter 11.
37:55 >> We find ourselves in a different story now, John,
37:57 Chapter 11 in the gospels and notice what the Bible says.
38:00 This is now a certain man was sick. You know, the story last
38:04 verse of Bethany, that how this could be the town of Mary and
38:06 her mother's and her mother, Cindy sisters, Martha, excuse
38:09 me. And it was that Mary, who anointed the Lord with fragrant
38:13 oil and want to speak with her hair whose brother last Reese
38:16 was sick. Therefore, the sister sent to him saying
38:19 >> they that he sic this rather sick. And so they settled
38:23 messenger to Jesus. And by the way, Jesus is just a little.
38:27 He's he's but he went back into Jerusalem and you understand
38:29 rules about 2 miles from Bethany.
38:32 >> So it's not like it was a very far wall.
38:35 So they sent a messenger to him
38:37 to tell him what, what
38:40 behold he whom you.
38:47 And then it says in verse 4, when Jesus heard that, he said
38:50 the sickness is not into death, but for the glory of God that
38:53 the son of God may be glorified through it. Now, Jesus love
38:56 Martha and her sister, State House district and Lazarus.
39:00 So when he heard that he was sick, notice
39:03 he stay 2 more days
39:06 in the place where he was.
39:08 And you could imagine
39:12 every single day every moment the past, though, looking just
39:17 waiting for Jesus to appear waiting for Jesus to walk up
39:20 the driveway because, again, this is Lazarus home. He loves
39:26 and you could just know like hang in there last year.
39:28 Sinai have.
39:30 >> It's paying their brothers. He says he's calm and he's on
39:33 is what we said. We know the message is already come back
39:36 and told us he spoke to Jesus and Jesus said it's not into
39:40 debt. Everything's great. Jesus is on his weight.
39:48 >> Jesus
39:50 stays away.
39:52 What Mary and Martha and last year's receive
39:56 silence
39:59 and verse. 21 of John 11 us is now Martha said to Jesus.
40:02 He's not. He's arrived. Glasses is dead.
40:05 >> Look, if you have been here, my brother would not about
40:09 and I love. This is a beautiful face statement.
40:13 She believes in the pack power of Christ. But the question the
40:16 impact was and what were you?
40:19 We should messages. Well, were you had you would come out in
40:24 time.
40:26 You could have done what you do. Best
40:28 just simply spoke to were just simply not only touched the
40:32 brother and his sickness would have went away.
40:36 Well, are you?
40:38 >> And you say yeah, but Ryan, it sees us Jesus is going to
40:41 resurrect him in and we know the story because because Jesus
40:44 is often going to show up making all things better.
40:47 >> But what I want you to do it just for a moment, just
40:49 disabuse your your money, your mind from from the outcome of
40:52 the story for a moment. In reality in that moment
40:56 before the resurrection Met, Mary and Martha are living in
41:00 this in real time.
41:03 They didn't know what the future holds.
41:06 They're experiencing this in real time
41:10 and in a moment that they needed got to show up.
41:14 And this isn't just some stranger God,
41:18 this is their friend.
41:21 It's the sum of got
41:23 Jesus,
41:27 which the Bible says home. He love it.
41:31 And what do they receive from the front?
41:34 Who happens to be the son of God?
41:36 >> Who happens to be able to speak world's into existence?
41:39 Who happens to be able to just make some spit and some clay
41:43 and wiping over stuff and wave his hand. And speaking of
41:47 things happen,
41:49 Jesus didn't even have to show
41:54 at last year's House.
41:56 Jesus could a stop right there in the middle of the road where
41:59 he was a said last year's.
42:06 What happened?
42:09 Complete
42:11 silence,
42:13 but perhaps one of the greatest examples of all
42:17 is found in Matthew. 26 want to talk the greatest example of
42:21 silence
42:25 Matthew. 26
42:29 Jesus and his disciples
42:32 have now come into the garden
42:35 of Gethsemane. And you know what gets him any means
42:40 that means
42:41 wine or all of
42:44 prints.
42:49 First, 36 of Matthew chapter. 26.
42:52 Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane and
42:55 sent to the disciples. Sit here. When I go in, pray over
42:58 there
43:00 and he took with him, Peter and his 2 sons, 70,
43:09 the 2 sons of zip it.
43:11 And he began to be sorrowful
43:13 and deeply distressed.
43:17 Then he said to them
43:19 my soul,
43:21 it's exceedingly softball
43:23 even to death.
43:26 Stay here and watch with me.
43:29 It went a little farther and fell on his face and prayed
43:33 saying
43:34 my father,
43:36 if it is possible,
43:39 let this cup pass from me. Nevertheless,
43:42 not as I will,
43:45 but as you will.
43:48 This is interesting. This is Jesus
43:52 districts.
43:54 I'm not so much that he's just, you know, under a little bit of
43:58 anxiety, a little bit of stress. It says that he was so
44:01 distressed that loop records that he actually sweat
44:08 blood
44:11 through
44:12 his sweat glands,
44:16 the sins of every human being from the beginning of time
44:21 until that point. And from that point, all the way to the end
44:25 of the world,
44:27 it's being placed upon him.
44:31 >> And this is the Jesus to never overreacted anything.
44:35 Jesus was always just so calm and so poised and under
44:40 control. Nothing caucus, brother, by surprise.
44:44 You just go read the Gospels. Jesus was always going to do
44:46 what we just talked about. The calming of the storm.
44:48 This brothers asleep
44:51 in the starter
44:53 on a pillow.
44:55 That's the Jesus that we know prior to this story.
44:59 Nothing really faced him
45:01 missus, same Jesus. The human is the site will show up on the
45:04 shore, the gatherings and this dumb only act full of all kinds
45:07 of legions of demons comes out of love and the disciples are
45:11 so terrified there shaking in their boots about a run back to
45:14 the boat and Jesus tense there. Just chill.
45:20 >> You would have been running like a scared little girl.
45:25 Not Jesus. Just calm, does she?
45:29 But now
45:32 something's happening.
45:34 And it says in verse, 39 again, he went a little farther and
45:37 farther into space and prayed single. My father. It is
45:40 possible that this cup pass from me, nonetheless, not as I
45:42 will, but as you will, that he came to the disciples in fat.
45:46 And then what
45:47 sleeping is said to Peter Watch it. Could you not watch with
45:52 me? But one hour
45:54 watching pray lets you into into temptation. The spirit
45:57 indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak and again,
46:00 notice a second time he went away, embracing all my father.
46:04 If this cup cannot pass away from me unless I drink your
46:08 will be done and then notice what it says here. And he came
46:11 and found him asleep again for the eyes were heavy and then
46:15 verse. 44, so he left them again, went away again and
46:18 prayed before time saying the same work. Have you ever prayed
46:25 ever prayed for something that you might have lost?
46:29 I mean, I've lost something and you pray for it
46:32 and you prayed for something or someone and the answer was
46:37 given, right? You receive an answer to that? You don't pray
46:40 for that again.
46:42 Don't you receive an answer to prayer
46:45 most the time. You don't pray for that again, right? I mean,
46:47 that's just that's common sense. You pray for something
46:50 more than once because you didn't get the answer. You are
46:53 looking for
46:57 not only did Jesus not get the answer he was looking for.
47:01 He didn't get any answer
47:03 what he received.
47:07 Silence
47:16 other you there.
47:20 You can hear you voiced fire.
47:25 I can't bear it.
47:28 The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh
47:31 so weak
47:35 he would go to the cross.
47:37 >> And I all the while bearing the weight
47:41 of got silence,
47:45 Joe
47:47 watching his family resources wiped out obliterated before
47:50 his eyes.
47:52 Silence
47:53 Joseph sold into slavery falsely accused of in prison.
47:59 Silence.
48:01 John the Baptist riding away in a prison cell
48:04 sign-ups Mary Martin Lacis waiting on Christ to show up
48:09 silence, crashed in Gethsemane needing to hear his father's
48:13 voice.
48:16 >> Were you God?
48:20 Don't you see what I'm going through?
48:23 Don't you can't
48:27 don't you feel the pain?
48:29 But I feel
48:32 don't you feel the anxiety
48:35 and the pressure
48:36 but I can't bear anymore. Got
48:40 surely
48:41 if you love me,
48:43 you'll do something.
48:50 >> I don't know if you've ever gone through personal tragedy.
48:54 We're going through a personal tragedy right now.
48:57 But if not
49:04 the one thing we have to learn about enduring trials
49:08 and the power to overcome and to endure those trials.
49:13 >> Is that if we exercise true faith,
49:17 we're not outcome driven.
49:21 We are got driven.
49:24 That is our faith
49:26 is in God himself.
49:28 His wish to his providence, his love, his justice, his word.
49:34 It's in him
49:36 as opposed to a certain outcome.
49:40 But see, oftentimes we feel like we can only believe if we
49:44 have
49:49 you often what I'll believe it when I
49:53 C
49:54 this was Thomas's problem
49:57 that doubting Thomas Haha.
50:00 >> I I geez. This is a lot. He he's he's the tomb was
50:03 empty. I saw it with my own eyes. He he's alive. He's well.
50:07 He he really is resurrected Thomas's either.
50:10 >> I don't know.
50:13 I just don't know if I can believe that
50:16 I'm going to have to take my hands my fingers and I'm going
50:19 to have to feel.
50:21 >> And see the scars from my cell phone to put my fingers
50:25 into his sine die. I'm going to have to see it in my experience
50:29 it
50:31 before. I believe it.
50:34 What did Jesus say to him? He arrived.
50:51 Get you a good feel.
50:54 Get you a good to sticky to 3 fingers in the air. Go ahead.
50:58 Since you need
51:00 to see
51:02 what you need to experience
51:05 and then Jesus as these words, he says, you believe
51:10 because you have seen
51:13 you were there
51:15 when I fed the 5,000
51:18 you were there
51:20 when I healed the blind man.
51:23 >> You got to experience and see when I open the ears of the
51:28 deaf.
51:29 You went there when I spoke a few words and the waves in the
51:34 storms ceased.
51:36 You were there
51:38 when I spoke to the dead and the dead lived again, you
51:43 believe because you have seen
51:46 but blessing our votes
51:50 who believe
51:52 and have not seen.
51:57 You see to that. And there's a specific phrase in the Bible.
52:00 The points out
52:01 the difference between
52:03 outcome driven
52:05 and got driven.
52:09 >> We find ourselves in Daniel Chapter 3 verse a 16 to 18 as
52:12 we approach the end of this message. I want you to get
52:14 this. No miss. This point is a powerful point.
52:17 >> 3 words, 3 words. If you're in the face booking special
52:21 messages, if you're in the Instagram ING special messages,
52:24 if you want to tweet something, if you want to put something
52:26 out there and card someone, here it is. Daniel Chapter 3
52:29 verse a 16 to 18. What the children of these 3 Hebrew
52:33 children they're in. They're in a situation.
52:37 It's kind of looking grim
52:40 because they're told to bow down when the music starts
52:42 playing
52:45 and they don't.
52:47 So they're brought to the king
52:49 standing before the most powerful man in the world.
52:52 And what does he say to them? If you don't doubt
52:56 I'm going to throw you into that hot fiery furnace.
53:00 You will die today.
53:03 And what was the response
53:05 for 16 of Daniel 3 shed? Right? We should have been to
53:08 go answered and said to the King own a beacon has it.
53:11 We have no need to answer a few in this matter.
53:15 If that is the case, our God, who we serve is able to deliver
53:19 us from the burning fiery furnace and he will deliver us
53:23 from your hand. Kings. Don't miss it. Do making a mistake.
53:27 Catch these next 3 words, but
53:31 not so.
53:33 But if
53:37 let it be known to you king that we do not serve your got
53:40 snow. We worship the golden image which you have set up.
53:48 You're going to trial.
