00:08 that they may know You, the only true God, 00:12 and Jesus Christ Whom You have sent. 00:20 Welcome to 3ABN Australia Homecoming. 00:31 Hello, and welcome to 3ABN Australia Homecoming 2018. 00:36 Isn't it amazing we're actually here? 00:39 It is amazing. 00:41 We have been talking about doing this for, 00:44 oh, probably about 10 years, 00:47 and now it is a reality here 00:50 in Avondale Memorial Church in Cooranbong. 00:54 And I just want to thank the church board 00:56 for allowing us to use this venue. 00:59 It's actually our pleasure. 01:02 It's actually our home church, 01:04 and it's just really nice to be able 01:07 to do something special, 01:10 not just for this church and the congregation 01:13 but also for the people 01:15 who've come all this way to this program 01:18 and the people who are still on their way. 01:20 Yes, there's a lot. 01:22 So we are just so glad 01:23 that after 15 years of operation here in Australia, 01:28 we started out in a very small way 01:30 just to let you, folk, know that you would get 3ABN 01:33 via satellite across Australia. 01:36 We watched what God has done 01:39 from driving around in a little Kermit, 01:40 I know some of you will know what that is. 01:43 The green car. The green car. 01:45 We traveled around Australia three times, 01:47 more than three times, helping people to get 3ABN. 01:51 And it was really exciting because we were really excited. 01:54 We never dreamed we were going to do this. 01:58 And every day we said, 02:00 "Lord, lead us to somebody today." 02:02 And He did. 02:04 We had divine appointments all the time 02:07 and it was really exciting, 02:09 especially for the first four months 02:10 when we did the first trip. 02:12 That was really, really good. 02:13 But we've done a lot of things since then. 02:16 We have done an awful lot of things. 02:18 And you know what, 02:20 if I'd known what we were going to do, 02:23 I may have thought twice about it. 02:26 I said to Bobby Davis at 3ABN one time, 02:30 "Our baby turned into a monster." 02:36 But you know what, 02:37 God has plans for every single one of us, 02:41 but we have to avail ourselves to Him. 02:43 The very first time I saw 3ABN was in Thailand. 02:47 Rosemary and I've been missionaries overseas 02:49 working for the General Conference 02:51 as IDES. 02:53 And it was very interesting 02:54 that Danny said something that's always kept me going, 02:58 and he said "The blessing is on the go. 03:01 That's only the way it will ever be." 03:03 That's right. 03:04 And we have some special guests. 03:07 And I know that you're looking forward 03:09 to hearing them and seeing them and meeting them. 03:14 And so right now 03:16 we want to invite them all up here with us. 03:21 We have Tim hiding behind the piano, 03:24 but Tim's always hiding behind a piano. 03:27 You know, Ryan Day described Tim 03:29 in a very interesting way. 03:33 Ryan said to me, "Tim is a walking song book. 03:39 He just knows everything." 03:41 I'm seated at the moment though, 03:42 so you know. 03:44 You're not a walking... Okay. 04:21 I think Danny preached. 04:22 And Angie, his wife, 04:24 we want to welcome you again to Australia. 04:26 I know you were recently here, 04:28 and it's a pleasure to have you here. 04:30 You know, I've always admired John, 04:32 and this is not a praise John, this is a praise God 04:36 because this man has been gifted in many ways, 04:39 and you will hear how the Lord uses him. 04:42 He said, "It's not about me. 04:44 I don't want people to know about me, 04:45 I want them to know about God," 04:47 and that's my philosophy too. 04:49 So thank you for coming to Australia 04:51 and taking part, both of you. 04:54 And how many times have you been to Australia? 04:59 About 15 times, but that's from 1984, 05:03 with Heritage Singers to the present. 05:05 All right. 05:08 Then we have Jill and Greg Morikone. 05:10 I'm going to go down here. 05:14 We've known Jill and Greg for as long as we've known you. 05:18 That's since 2004. 05:21 And you are now going from being a music teacher, 05:26 what are you now? 05:28 The General Manager of 3ABN. 05:29 It is a privilege to be here in Australia. 05:33 You all have a beautiful country. 05:35 It's Greg and my first time to come down under 05:38 and to see what God is doing here, 05:41 and we are so excited to be here. 05:43 Oh, yeah, this is amazing for Jill and myself 05:45 to be here in Australia, 05:47 like she said, for the first time. 05:48 Time change, jet lag, it's not too bad so far. 05:52 I don't know what time is it 2am in the morning. 05:54 Yesterday, or no, what is today? 05:56 Thursday. It's Wednesday. It's weird. 05:58 Yeah. It messes with your brain. 05:59 Yesterday? It's Thursday? 06:01 It is Thursday. Okay. 06:02 So we're looking forward to seeing a kangaroo, 06:04 we did see one, 06:05 but it was dead beside the road. 06:07 So we know they're alive and well here somewhere. 06:09 But we appreciate the Malkiewyczs so much. 06:13 They're precious people. 06:14 You're blessed to have them 06:15 leading out here in 3ABN Australia, 06:18 but also you guys are all important too 06:20 because you are part of 3ABN just as much as any of us are. 06:24 Rosemary, I'm going to come across 06:26 and meet my friend Ryan Day. 06:29 He is my little friend, and I like that. 06:33 Ryan has come... 06:34 This is the first time 06:36 he's come to Australia also, is that right? 06:37 That is true. Yes. 06:50 Where did you work before, Ryan? 06:52 Before I came to 3ABN, little over four months ago, 06:55 I was traveling on behalf of Amazing Facts Ministry 06:58 for five years as an evangelist. 07:00 So you enjoyed that work? Oh, I love it. 07:03 It's the best work in the world. 07:05 Can you tell us why? Rod. 12:00 And I don't know if Terry is here yet. 12:03 But Terry is flying in from Perth, 12:05 and their plane has been delayed. 12:07 3ABN Australia has a committee 12:10 that oversees the work of 3ABN Australia, 12:15 and we would just like to introduce them to you 12:18 the vice-chairman lives in West Australia. 12:22 And with the modern technology, 12:23 we can do conferencing through the Internet. 12:27 And I'd like to introduce two members from America, 12:31 Jill and Greg, you've met them, 12:33 and the treasurer is Rod Butler, 12:37 and Paul McLean is a committee member, 12:40 and Ettienne McClintock is a committee member. 12:44 And we just feel that 12:46 we would like to introduce them to you. 12:49 They work individually in their own businesses. 12:52 And we just want to say thank you to all of you 12:55 for doing what you do for the cause of God 12:59 because it means giving of your time. 13:00 Every time you work for God, you have to give of your time. 13:04 We have Terry Preston also, 13:07 he's the one flying in from Western Australia. 13:08 So he was concerned he wouldn't be here 13:12 for the first part of this program, 13:14 and he was right. 13:16 So he's not here. 13:18 But with Jill and Greg 13:19 and with Terry, it's really good 13:21 because we can use Skype for our meetings. 13:24 And they were two members 13:27 apart from Terry who are not here, 13:29 and that's Danny Shelton and Moses Primo. 13:32 They're also on our committee. 13:33 And I would say they've been on the committee, 13:37 well, Danny's been on since the very beginning. 13:38 Very beginning. 13:40 And Moses, almost from the beginning, 13:42 and so that's 15 years. 13:44 And it's such a help to have people 13:48 from headquarters at 3ABN helping us on the committee. 13:53 Yes, it is. 13:54 You know, one of the things we always find is that 13:56 if you know someone 13:58 that has done something before you, 13:59 you can always go to them and ask them. 14:02 And so we thank Danny and Moses and all of you 14:07 for what you do. 14:08 I used to do that all the time with Mollie Steenson. 14:12 I'd always go, "Mollie, what do I do," 14:16 because she had so many years of experience 14:18 and she's taught you, Jill. 14:20 Hasn't she? Absolutely. 14:21 Mollie is an incredible woman of God. 14:23 She served as 3ABN's General Manager 14:25 and Vice President for many years, 14:28 maybe 25 years she was at 3ABN. 14:31 She retired at the end of last year, 14:33 and she was just a great mentor to me. 14:37 And I'm so grateful 14:38 for what God has taught me through Mollie. 14:41 And she and Pastor Hal, they retired, 14:43 they move to Alabama. 14:45 But for those of you, who watch 3ABN, and know them, 14:48 they're doing very well, 14:50 and Pastor Hal's health is doing well too, 14:52 and we're thankful. 14:54 We are so blessed 14:55 by the leadership of John and Rosemary 14:58 here in 3ABN Australia. 15:00 It's a privilege to sit on the committee meetings 15:02 through Skype, we listen in, 15:04 and to see what God is doing here 15:07 and the lives that are being changed, 15:09 that's what 3ABN is all about. 15:11 Spreading the undiluted Three Angels' Messages 15:15 to a lost and dying world, and the stories, the emails, 15:19 the letters of people whose lives have been changed 15:22 for eternity as the result of this ministry, 15:25 so that's a blessing. 15:27 And Greg is our newest member. 15:30 He's only been for one meeting. 15:31 It's been great. 15:35 Would you like to just... 15:36 Just so you know that's not my last meeting either. 15:38 There will be many more. 15:40 I like that. That's true. 15:42 I just want to come over to Rod. 15:44 Take that, Rod. 15:45 Yeah, Rod, how long have you been with 3ABN? 15:48 Three years. Three years. 15:50 I find this guy incredible. 15:51 He has a gift to do... 15:53 When he is doing assessment or such things, 15:56 he provides charts and graphs 15:58 that are just unbelievable. 16:00 I think every church should have this man 16:01 giving graphs so that you know where you're going. 16:05 So, Rod, what do you think of 3ABN 16:07 since you've started? 16:09 Well, I'm amazed at how it reaches people, 16:13 and the impact of the message is fantastic, 16:17 also seeing how it's grown in Australia 16:19 has been unbelievable too. 16:22 Yeah. Over here is Paul McLean. 16:24 Paul's been with us for a while. 16:26 How long have you been with us, Paul? 16:27 I think, around 2010-2011, 16:30 John asked me if I'd like to be on the board. 16:33 And I think, his opening remark was that, 16:38 "Hang on for the ride." 16:40 And I guess that's sort of how it's been. 16:43 It's been interesting to watch the growth. 16:46 Of course, when I first joined, 16:48 we had no building at Morisset. 16:50 And so to see that building get established 16:54 and to see that building being used 16:55 over the last five, six years has been quite amazing. 17:01 And obviously to see the programs 17:03 that have been produced in that time, 17:06 it's great to see how Australia has been able to contribute 17:10 to the 3ABN family internationally. 17:12 Thank you, Paul. 17:14 And, Ettienne, if you don't know it, 17:16 he looks after our radio production 17:19 and programming. 17:21 And Etienne joined us... How long ago, Ettienne? 17:24 It must be getting close to three years now. 17:25 Three years. 17:27 I think so as far as the board's concerned, 17:28 as far as radio is concerned, 17:30 it's probably about 18 months or so. 17:31 Yeah. 17:33 So God has blessed us with a team of people 17:36 who are willing to work for the cause of God, 17:38 and Ettienne is one of them. 17:40 He works tirelessly 17:42 to get programs around the world. 17:43 Now when Ettienne started, 17:45 he said to me "John, we want to have 17:47 as many affiliates as possible 17:49 around Australia and New Zealand. 17:51 And we had only 30. 17:54 Since Ettienne started, he prays every morning. 17:56 And by the way, we do every day, 17:57 and we can tell that story a little bit later. 18:00 But Ettienne prayed. 18:01 We now have over 110 affiliates 18:05 around Australia and New Zealand 18:08 and Papua New Guinea. 18:10 And New Guinea, that's right. 18:11 And he's also one of these buffs 18:12 on the Internet. 18:14 So thank you, Ettienne, for the work you do. 18:16 Thank you. Thank you for coming up. 18:39 We need to ask Pastor John Lomacang 18:42 to come up here now 'cause he is going to sing 18:45 for us a special item. 18:47 Thank you, John. 18:53 The last time I was here with Danny Shelton, 18:55 it was in 2009. 18:57 I'm going to preface this song with a very brief story. 19:00 And I remember this church being filled to capacity. 19:06 And I came out to a rousing introduction. 19:11 They told all the things that they knew about me, 19:13 and I felt quite small when I came out. 19:16 And I remember standing here and people waiting for me 19:19 to just really give it my all, 19:21 and I only sang three songs 19:27 with only three notes that I had in my repertoire. 19:30 What they didn't know 19:32 was a little more than a month before that, 19:34 I had the worst throat injury of my life. 19:39 And the physicians told me that 19:40 if I had been hit any higher in my throat, 19:43 I would never sing again. 19:45 The reason I still came was the tickets were purchased, 19:48 Danny said they couldn't cancel the flight, 19:51 and I was coming to accompany him, 19:53 and I was supposed to be the singer. 19:56 And I walked off from in front of the rostrum 19:59 to a very quiet audience, 20:03 and no one knew what to do. 20:06 And I came over here with the intent 20:08 that I wanted to buy my wife a gift for Christmas. 20:10 And I said, "Well, if I can sell my CDs tonight, 20:14 I'll be able to buy her a nice laptop for Christmas 20:16 so that she can use." 20:19 After I sang those three songs, they were horrendous 20:22 because my throat was still healing 20:24 from a severe injury. 20:27 I said, "No one is going to buy anything." 20:30 I sat in the foyer that night 20:32 to watch the audience by everything that I had. 20:36 And Danny Shelton asked me the question, 20:38 "John, what just happened?" 20:41 And I learned a valuable lesson that night, 20:44 even when we are not at our best, God always is. 20:48 Can you say amen? Amen. 20:50 So tonight, I chose a song that 20:53 commemorates my continued process of healing 20:56 because now, going on 10 years, I'm still healing. 21:00 But I want to tell you, there's no better person 21:02 to tell about the journey 21:03 that we've shared together than Jesus. 21:06 Tonight, sit back as we listen to the way that God guides us 21:10 in spite of who we are in the light of our frailties. 21:14 "I Must Tell Jesus." 21:24 I must tell Jesus 21:28 All of all my trials 21:33 I cannot bear 21:35 My burdens alone 21:41 In my distress 21:44 He kindly will help me 21:50 He ever loves 21:53 And cares for His own 21:59 I must tell Jesus! It's been what? 30:14 Ten, ten, eleven weeks or so ago, 30:17 I had, ten weeks ago, 30:19 open-heart surgery, quadruple bypass. 30:22 And so the doctors have said, 30:23 "If that's too long a flight because you can get blood clot, 30:27 otherwise you would have seen us both there. 30:30 But Lord will and we get the invitations to come back 30:33 and maybe do a weekend or two. 30:35 We're happy to come back 30:36 and join our brothers and sisters there. 30:39 Right? You'd go back, wouldn't you? 30:40 And go to Australia? 30:41 Oh, absolutely. All right. 30:43 We'll go there. I still enjoy her singing. 37:15 Thank you, Tim. 37:17 Yeah, we've got to tell you some 3ABN stories. 37:22 Well, I would like to tell the story about 37:24 how we got our building constructed. 37:26 You can do that. 37:28 Aren't you going to tell the story? 37:30 No, you tell it. 37:33 Isn't he nice? 37:35 The reason why he wants me to tell you this 37:36 because I always interrupt his... 37:40 Yeah, heard of an interpreter. 37:43 I'm the interrupter. 37:46 I know that Angie is the same as me 37:50 because it's even happened in the vehicle 37:52 coming up from the airport. 37:55 John tells the story 37:56 but Angela fills in all the details just like I do. 38:02 When we came over here in 2010, 38:05 3ABN Australia had already purchased 38:08 the block of land in the Morisset industrial area. 38:13 And we needed to get the plans approved, 38:16 the plans that John had drawn up. 38:18 We actually did... 38:20 How many different plans did we do? 38:21 We did several. 38:23 Yes. 38:24 In all different areas on that block, 38:26 we changed them around. 38:27 But finally, we settled on one, didn't we? 38:29 That's right. 38:30 And that's the one that if you've visited the building, 38:32 that's the result of all the hard planning. 38:35 And we would like to encourage you all to come, 38:38 no matter where you are around the world. 38:40 It's always a pleasure to go to a 3ABN facility 38:43 because it's something special 38:45 because God has anointed it and blessed it in a way 38:48 that His presence is there. 38:50 We don't want to change that. 38:53 Anyway, we put in our application 38:56 to what we term in Australia the local council. 39:02 It's our local government. 39:03 It's sort of like a county office in the States. 39:07 And we put in for our development application 39:10 or DA as it is known by initials. 39:14 And it went really easy, didn't it? 39:17 No. 39:19 We wished it did. I was hoping. 39:22 We had lots of travel. 39:23 Yes, because here in this country, 39:26 there are so many regulations, 39:28 you have to pass every single one of them 39:31 before you can actually start. 39:33 And it was quite challenging because no matter what we did, 39:37 it seemed like... 39:38 Now I'm going to say something here 39:40 that the devil was trying to put a stop to it. 39:43 And it was a continuous battle, and we fought on despite it. 39:47 And I know... What was the problem? 39:50 Well, that's an interesting... There's a lot... 39:53 There were a lot of problems 39:55 and the main one was the fact that 39:57 they wanted us to do things that we didn't want to do. 40:02 Isn't that always a problem 40:03 when someone wants you to do something you don't want to do? 40:05 Well, the point was we had situated the building 40:09 on the particular piece of land in a certain way, 40:13 but they wanted us to put it the opposite way. 40:17 But to put it the opposite way, you know, 40:19 like a mirror image across on the other side of the land, 40:23 and to do it that way meant 40:25 that it was going to cost us a lot more money 40:27 for footings, for drainage, 40:29 there was an easement on that side of the property 40:33 that we couldn't build on. 40:34 Outside the easement, 40:36 we found out there was a storm water drain. 40:38 So we would have to move even further away from the easement, 40:41 which would take more room away from parking. 40:45 And it would also leave an area with a tall building next door 40:48 where the sun would never shine. 40:51 And it could get very moldy and musty 40:54 along that side of the building. 40:56 It was also at the lower side of the land, wasn't it? 40:58 That's right. 40:59 Instead of building it on the higher side 41:02 as we had planned. 41:04 But it was all to do with the building next door 41:06 as to why they were trying to get us to change it. 41:09 And finally, they told us that they wouldn't approve it 41:13 if we didn't comply with their wishes. 41:16 And we said, "Well, we can't do that." 41:17 So we just kept praying. 41:19 And one night, we really had a strong prayer 41:23 and we sent them an email 41:26 in reply to another email from them, and said, 41:28 "Look, tell us where we don't comply 41:31 with the Australian Building Regulations 41:34 because that is what controls what we do." 41:36 We went through that thoroughly. 41:38 Because we knew we complied. 41:41 And then they emailed us and said, 41:44 "We're going to have a meeting to discuss your application." 41:48 And that was, I think, 41:49 on a Friday that we were having the meeting. 41:51 That's right. 41:52 What happened on the Monday? 41:53 Well, let me tell you what happened. 41:55 On the Sunday, I said to Rosemary, 41:56 "If we don't get approval, 41:58 the building is not going to be built here." 42:00 He said, "We'll sell the land." 42:01 We knelt down and we prayed 42:03 and we asked for a miracle of God. 42:05 Well, I'm going to tell you, the next day, 42:07 I wanted to ring to find out 42:09 what was the result of their meeting. 42:10 This lady said, no, no. "No, I don't want to know." 42:14 But I said, "Okay, I'll wait one more day." 42:16 I rang... 42:18 The next day, I said, "Don't ring, don't ring, 42:19 I don't want to hear the result." 42:21 The next day, I rang and the lady said, 42:23 "Oh, I meant to call you yesterday. 42:26 You've got your DA." 42:28 But there were two conditions. We had to paint the brick. 42:31 Which was donated. 42:33 And we had to provide pine trees 42:35 down the side of the building 42:37 to cover the other building next door. 42:39 And we said, "So be it, Lord." 42:42 And we started our building. Yes. 42:45 And it was only because of that 42:46 that we actually went ahead with the construction. 42:49 But that took months to get through all the hurdles. 42:52 And anybody who's trying to build something 42:54 around here knows how hard it is. 42:56 But we knew that God had opened the door 42:59 because they did a complete turnaround, didn't they? 43:01 They did 180-degree turnaround. 43:05 Now that's not something that happens 43:07 in the local government. 43:08 I worked in the local government 43:10 and I know David works in the local government. 43:12 And that's something that doesn't really happen. 43:14 But you see God's got His hand over it. 43:16 We just have to be persistent in keeping going. 43:20 And when we know that we're in the right 43:23 and that we've complied with everything, 43:25 we can ask God to then bless what we're doing. 43:27 You know, there are so many stories 43:28 we could tell you, 43:29 but we've got a special item now. 43:32 We have... 43:33 I'm really looking forward to this. 43:35 I have heard the rehearsal. 43:37 But we now have Ryan Day and his golden voice 43:43 and Tim helping him also. 43:46 And he is going to present a beautiful song 43:50 called "Satisfied." 43:52 Thank you, Ryan.
