00:30 In this time of need, I am happy to partner 00:32 with Child Impact International 00:34 to bring you the mini concert for the kids. 00:38 This has been a time of tragedy 00:39 for many people around the world. 00:42 And we hope that this program is a blessing to you. 00:45 Child Impact and its supporters 00:46 make a difference in the lives 00:48 of thousands of children in six countries. 00:50 And we also want to remember them 00:52 during this time. 00:54 I've had the privilege of being an ambassador 00:57 with Child Impact for a number of years 00:59 and have even traveled with CEO Jim Rennie 01:02 to India and Myanmar. 01:04 It was an unforgettable experience both times, 01:08 and I have seen firsthand 01:09 the transformational impact of sponsorship 01:12 and the work that Child Impact does. 01:15 Throughout our program, I will be dedicating 01:18 these songs to the children in the places where I visited. 01:22 The love of God is dedicated to Operation Child Rescue. 01:26 This is a home in Bangalore, India, 01:29 and the fine people there rescue young ladies, 01:33 young women from brothels and they give them new hope 01:38 and a new life. 05:29 Child Impact funds an Adventist Church School 05:32 for the Blind in India. 05:35 These young people would never be 05:36 able to get an education because they're blind. 05:40 But provision has been made for them to have an opportunity 05:44 to have their lives changed. 05:46 I remember playing for them 05:48 and they sang at the top of their lungs. 05:50 So, "Praise ye praise ye all ye little children" 05:53 is dedicated to the special kids. 07:18 Child Impact supports over 200 orphans 07:21 in Bangladesh and India. 07:23 When I was there, I got to visit Sunrise Home. 07:27 It is run by a lovely couple 07:29 and they have more than 110 children there. 07:32 Each has a tragic story. 07:35 But I want to focus on something 07:37 that I believe is truly miraculous. 07:39 I was told that that's a part of the country 07:42 where there are snakes 07:44 and poisonous snakes all around. 07:46 People get bitten and they die all the time. 07:49 However, no orphan child from that orphanage 07:52 has ever been bitten by a snake. 07:55 I picture an angel standing outside 07:59 guarding and protecting those children. 08:02 Truly, God will take care of them. 11:47 Thank you for joining us. 11:48 And as we get ready to close, 11:50 I just want to share with you one more experience. 11:53 In fact, it was my very first experience in India. 11:58 After a long set of flights, being jet-lagged and exhausted, 12:02 I woke up because Jim called and said, 12:05 "There is somebody 12:06 I want you to meet this morning." 12:08 And so we left the hotel and headed to a slum. 12:12 I'll admit to you, I've been to many places 12:14 around the world, 12:16 but I've never seen anything like that. 12:19 But in that slum, 12:20 I found somebody with a sparkle in her eye, 12:23 with enthusiasm and excitement for life. 12:26 To protect her identity, we're going to call her Mary. 12:30 Mary had gone 12:31 to the Adventist school in that slum. 12:34 Somebody had sponsored her all the way to graduation. 12:39 And then somebody sponsored her to go to high school, 12:42 and now she was in college. 12:44 And so I asked her, "What are you going to be? 12:48 What are you going to do when you leave college?" 12:50 And she said, "Jamie, 12:52 I am getting ready to become a nurse." 12:54 Having gone to medical school, 12:57 I was interested and excited and I said, 12:59 "Mary, why did you choose nursing?" 13:02 She said, "Jamie, both of my parents have AIDS. 13:05 In fact, many of my friends in this slum also have AIDS. 13:10 And so I want to be able to help them 13:13 when I graduate and take care of them." 13:17 Had it not been for those sponsors, 13:20 Mary could have been 13:21 trafficked several times in her life, 13:23 who knows what might have happened, 13:24 but now she is making a huge difference 13:27 in her community. 13:29 This is one of many stories. 13:32 I want to invite you to go to childimpact.org 13:36 and find out a little bit more 13:38 about the incredible work Child Impact is doing. 13:41 And if you're able to support, 13:44 I want to invite you to be a part of the where 13:48 needed most fund 13:51 takes opportunities, resources, 13:55 and then transforms them into hope 13:58 and a future for these young people. 14:01 May God bless you. 14:03 May He keep you safe and may we have the desire 14:07 to continue to serve Him to make a difference 14:10 in the lives of many people. 14:12 Soon, Jesus will return. 14:15 We will go home and there will be no more pain, 14:17 no more suffering, no more death. 14:19 But until then, we can make a difference 14:22 just like Child Impact is making a difference, 14:25 but it can't do so without your help. 14:27 Please consider 14:29 being a part of the Child Impact Ministry 14:31 and team today. |
