00:01 Welcome back! We've been talking today about the transformation
00:05 that God wants to work in our hearts; about the mask that 00:08 I know I've worn, and I'm sure you've worn as well. 00:11 And then we talked about how we look at ourselves, or maybe 00:16 the lies that Satan has told us to believe about our self. 00:19 And finally, how does the Lord Jesus look at us? 00:23 I think the best way to learn How does God look at us? 00:26 is to go to the word of God. 00:29 I love claiming Bible Scriptures. 00:32 There's power in the word of God. 00:33 There's life transforming power in the word of God. 00:37 I have some of the Scriptures that we discussed 00:39 in the program on 3 x 5 cards. 00:41 I would encourage you to take a 3 x 5 card; write them out. 00:45 You can pull them out, you can share it as you're waiting 00:49 in line at the grocery store, as you're waiting at the bank. 00:52 If you have it in your purse, you can pull it out. 00:53 You can work on memorizing the word of God. 00:56 Maybe you could post it at your desk at work, 00:59 or you could put it in the car, or above the sink 01:02 as you work on dishes. 01:04 Seek to put the word of God into your life. 01:07 We have several Bible promises here. 01:10 I already have them written out on 3 x 5 cards. 01:13 If you don't want to use a 3 x 5 card, you could write 01:16 them in a journal. 01:17 You could write it on a scratch piece of paper. 01:20 Whatever you do, that doesn't matter. 01:22 This Scripture is 1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, 01:25 Jesus is faithful and just to forgive us, and to cleanse us 01:29 from all unrighteousness. 01:30 This one is John 14:27 where Jesus says, 01:34 Peace I leave with you. 01:36 This one is Jeremiah 29:11. 01:39 God says, I know the plans I have for you; 01:43 plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, 01:45 to give you a future and a hope. 01:48 This is Jeremiah 31:3. 01:50 The Lord appeared of old saying, I loved you. 01:53 Yes, I love you with an everlasting love. 01:58 John 10:10, I have come that you would have life, 02:00 and have it more abundantly. 02:04 We're going to write one out now. 02:06 John 16:20. I have my Bible open to it. 02:11 It says, Your sorrow will be turned into joy. 02:14 John 16:20. Your sorrow will be turned to joy. 02:21 Will be turned to joy. 02:23 I love this one because so many times we have sadness, 02:27 we have pain, and God says, I'm going to turn 02:30 your sorrow into joy. 02:31 I was doing a teen retreat, young girls, 02:35 and we talked opening night on Who am I in Jesus? 02:39 Who am I in Christ? 02:41 And we shared some of the same principles we 02:43 talked about today: the mask that we wear, 02:45 we talked about who we look at, who we think we are, 02:48 and then how does Jesus look at us? 02:51 I have some stones here. 02:52 What we did with the girls: we took out stones, 02:56 they took a marker, they wrote on the stone who they are in 03:00 Jesus, after the talk who they felt like they were in Jesus. 03:05 The next morning we stood in a circle, 03:07 and each girl held her stone. 03:10 This one here I have written on, it says loved. 03:14 In Jesus I am loved. 03:17 I have another one here: In Jesus I am forgiven. 03:23 In Christ I am forgiven. 03:26 This one: In Jesus I am cleansed. 03:31 In Jesus I am cherished. 03:35 I like this one: In Jesus I am wanted. 03:39 Finally, In Jesus I am made new. 03:45 You know, 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, If anyone is in Christ, 03:48 he or she is a new creature. 03:51 Old things have passed away, behold all 03:54 things have become new. 03:56 I have another stone here. 03:57 I don't know what you would write, or what you would say, 03:59 but you could say, In Jesus I am... 04:03 I'm putting on this one... 04:05 It's not very neat because it's in a hurry. 04:07 In Jesus I am safe. 04:10 I encourage you this week to commit to writing down some 04:16 of those promises from the word of God. 04:18 Bring them out. Seek to commit them to memory. 04:21 Bring them before your mind, and share with someone else 04:25 this week one of these Scriptures. 04:28 Share with someone else. 04:30 As we share we grow and we are blessed ourselves. 04:33 Our next program we begin a journey of forgiveness; 04:38 the forgiveness that the Lord Jesus Christ wants to work 04:41 in our hearts and wants us to extend to other people. 04:44 So I hope you will join us for that program. 04:46 Our closing Scripture is Romans 15:13, Now may the God of hope 04:52 fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may 04:56 that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. |
