00:01 Welcome back. Just before we went to the break
00:03 we talked about Romans 12, and where Paul says, I beseech you 00:07 therefore, brethren by the mercies of God, 00:09 present our bodies a living sacrifice. 00:11 Then he says, Be not conformed to the world: but be transformed 00:16 by the renewing of our minds. 00:19 Let's imagine for a moment that my glass of grape juice 00:22 I have sitting right here, imagine that this glass 00:25 represents all of your lusts, all of your junk, 00:29 all of those impure thoughts and actions that are in your life. 00:33 Now if I stare at that glass and say, Go away! 00:37 Come on now, I said go away! 00:40 Is it changing? Is it changing colors? 00:43 Is the grape juice moving? uh uh. 00:46 But what were to happen if I were to take from my big 00:49 pitcher of water... 00:50 And, hopefully, I won't spill here. 00:52 ...and I were to start to pour water in. 00:56 What's happening? Right now you could say the glass is 01:00 simply filling up. 01:02 Now it's starting to overflow. 01:05 You can see the grape juice starting to fill up 01:10 the dish underneath. 01:11 To me this is what happens when the Word of God 01:15 comes into our heart, and the Word of God comes into our life. 01:20 Can you see, if I were to stop a moment, can you see it 01:23 starting to get cleaner? 01:24 Can you see it's not as red as it used to be? 01:27 Now if I keep pouring, it's going to displace more and more 01:33 of that grape juice until what happens? it's clear. 01:38 If I pick that up, can you see that? It's clear. 01:42 There's no reflection from underneath. 01:44 The Word of God has transformational power. 01:50 The Word of God, when we put it into our minds, 01:54 and into our hearts, what happens? 01:56 It cleans out some of that junk, some of that impurity. 02:02 Not some of it; it cleans out all of it. 02:04 This week I want you to go before God and figure out 02:10 what you're going to replace some of those lustful thoughts 02:13 and emotions with. 02:15 It could be a Scripture. 02:16 You could pick a Scripture and use that 02:18 Scripture to replace it. 02:20 It could be a song, as we talked about, 02:22 or possibly even a prayer. 02:25 Whatever it is, ask God, What is the lust in my heart, 02:29 and in my life? Then go to God and start to fill your mind, 02:34 fill your heart with the Word of God, 02:37 with prayer, and with music. 02:39 That will make an incredible difference to give you a clear 02:43 glass, and to get rid of that junk. 02:45 As always, our closing Scripture is Romans 15:13. 02:50 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace 02:54 in believing, that you may abound with hope, 02:56 by the power of the Holy Spirit. |
