00:01 Welcome back. We're talking today about offended pride,
00:04 and the pride of false humility. 00:06 No matter where you feel you are right now in your walk with God, 00:10 don't be discouraged. 00:13 Know that the Lord Jesus loves you. 00:15 I have several Scriptures written out on my 00:18 3' x5' cards here. 00:20 And I want to encourage you, as one of our applications 00:23 this week, take out your cards, take out your journal, 00:27 if you prefer to write in that, take out a little post-it note. 00:31 Whatever you want to do, that's fine. 00:33 But take that, write down a Scripture, and pull it out 00:37 throughout the day. 00:39 These will bring our minds into line with what God 00:42 really thinks about us, because God is love. 00:45 The first Scripture I have here is Jeremiah 31:3. 00:49 It's on my card. Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting 00:54 love: therefore with loving-kindness 00:57 I have drawn you. 00:59 What about this Scripture here? 01:01 1 John 1:9. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just 01:08 to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us 01:11 from all unrighteousness. 01:13 Do you need cleansing? I certainly do. 01:17 Do you need forgiveness? 01:18 I know I do as well. 01:20 God says, Come to Me and I will forgive you. 01:23 I think as we claim these Scriptures it clears our warped 01:28 understanding of who God is. 01:30 It helps us realize He is love, He is forgiving. 01:34 What about this one? John 6:37. 01:37 The one who comes to Me I will never cast aside. 01:42 It tells us that God's not going to cast us away. 01:45 This one, 1 John 3:1. 01:47 Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, 01:52 that we should be called the children of God. 01:56 1 Peter 2:9. This is one of my favorites. 01:58 You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, 02:02 His own special people; that you may proclaim the praises 02:07 of Him who called you out of darkness 02:09 into His marvelous light. 02:12 And I have one more written here: 1 Corinthians 15:57. 02:16 Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our 02:21 Lord Jesus Christ. 02:23 So claim those Scriptures this week. 02:27 In addition, go to God and ask Him, Is there offended 02:31 pride in my heart? 02:32 Is there any way that I've become defensive? 02:35 that I'm easily offended? that I'm quickly hurt? 02:40 God can show you. And if you're not sure, you can always ask 02:45 your accountability partner. 02:47 You can ask a trusted girlfriend. 02:49 You can ask your husband. 02:50 Ask them to speak truth into your life. 02:54 Ask them to be honest with you about that. 02:56 This is the end of our section on pride. 03:00 Next week, our next program, we're going to begin a section 03:04 on transformation; the transformation that the Lord 03:07 Jesus wants to work in your heart and in mine. 03:10 We'll be discussing the washed heart. 03:13 In conclusion our Scripture, as always, is Romans 15:13. 03:19 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace 03:22 in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power 03:25 of the Holy Spirit. |
