00:16 Hi, and welcome to HIS WORDS ARE LIFE.
00:19 I'm Kelly Mowrer, and I'll be reading today
00:21 from the King James version of the Bible.
00:23 You know, Peter writes that the grass of the field will wither,
00:27 and fade away, but the word of the Lord stands forever.
00:31 Before we go and read the Word today let's go to him in prayer.
00:35 Dear God, thank you so much for these wonderful words
00:40 that will stand forever and the promise that is sure,
00:45 in the word that is true. May this word be not just heard;
00:49 by us; but may it take root in our heart and bear fruit
00:52 that we may give honor and glory to your name; for we love you
00:56 and we pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
00:58 I'll be reading today from the book of Matthew, chapter seven,
01:03 the King James Version, and beginning in verse nineteen.
01:07 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down,
01:12 and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits
01:16 ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me,
01:20 Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that
01:24 doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
01:27 Many will say unto me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
01:31 prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils?
01:35 and in thy name done many wonderful works?
01:38 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you:
01:42 Depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever
01:48 heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him
01:52 unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
01:56 and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew,
02:00 and beat upon that house and it fell not: for it was founded
02:04 upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine,
02:08 and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man,
02:13 which built his house upon the sand: and the rain descended
02:17 and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that
02:21 house and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
02:25 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings,
02:29 the people were astonished at his doctrine: For he taught them
02:33 as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
02:37 Matthew, Chapter 8. When he was come down
02:42 from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.
02:45 And behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying,
02:49 Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
02:52 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will;
02:57 be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
03:01 And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way
03:07 show thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses
03:10 commanded, for a testimony unto them. And when Jesus was entered
03:14 into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
03:19 and saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy,
03:23 grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come
03:28 and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord,
03:32 I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof;
03:36 but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
03:40 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me:
03:43 and I say to his man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come,
03:48 and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth
03:51 it. When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to them
03:56 that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great
04:01 faith, no, not in Israel. And I say unto you, That many shall
04:06 come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham,
04:09 and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
04:12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer
04:17 darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
04:20 And Jesus said unto the centurian, Go thy way;
04:25 and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee.
04:30 And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
04:35 And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's
04:40 mother laid, and sick of a fever. And he touched her hand,
04:43 and the fever left her: and she arose and ministered unto them.
04:47 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were
04:51 possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits
04:55 with his word, and healed all that were sick:
04:58 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet
05:02 saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our
05:07 sicknesses. Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him,
05:11 he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.
05:14 And a certain scribe came and said unto him, Master,
05:18 I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. And Jesus saith
05:24 unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air
05:29 have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
05:34 And another of his disciples said unto him,
05:37 Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
05:41 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me;
05:45 and let the dead bury their dead.
05:48 And when he was entered into a ship his disciples followed him.
05:52 And behold there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch
05:57 that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.
06:01 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord,
06:04 save us: we perish. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful,
06:10 O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds
06:15 and the sea; and there was a great calm.
06:18 But the men marveled, saying, What manner of man is this,
06:23 that even the winds and the sea obey him!
06:26 And when he was come to the other side into the country
06:32 of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils,
06:37 coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man
06:41 might pass by that way. And, behold, they cried out, saying,
06:46 What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God?
06:49 Art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
06:53 And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine
06:58 feeding. So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out
07:03 suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.
07:06 And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out,
07:11 they went into the herd of swine and, behold, the whole herd
07:15 of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea,
07:20 and perished in the waters. And they that kept them fled,
07:25 and went their ways into the city, and told every thing,
07:28 and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.
07:31 And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus:
07:35 and when they saw him, they besought him,
07:38 that he would depart out of their coasts.
07:40 I'm reading in the book of Matthew, chapter nine.
07:43 And he entered into a ship, and passed over,
07:47 and came into his own city. And, behold, they brought to him
07:52 a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing
07:58 their faith said unto the sick of the palsy;
08:01 Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
08:05 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves,
08:11 This man blasphemeth. And Jesus knowing their thoughts said,
08:16 Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? For whether is easier,
08:22 to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise and walk?
08:28 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth
08:34 to forgive sins, - then saith he to the sick of the palsy, -
08:38 Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. And he arose,
08:45 and departed to his house. But when the multitudes saw it,
08:49 they marveled, and glorified God, which had given such power
08:54 unto men. And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man,
08:59 named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom:
09:02 and he saith unto him Follow me. And he arose
09:06 and followed him. And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat
09:10 in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came
09:14 and sat down with him and his disciples.
09:17 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples
09:20 Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
09:24 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them,
09:27 They that be whole need not a physician,
09:32 but they that are sick. But go ye and learn what that meaneth,
09:39 I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come
09:42 to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
09:46 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying,
09:50 Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?
09:56 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber
10:00 mourn, as long as the bridegroom us with them?
10:03 but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken
10:07 from them, and then shall they fast. No man putteth a piece of
10:14 new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in
10:18 to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is
10:21 made worse. Neither do men put new wine into new bottles: else
10:25 the bottles break, and the wine runneth out,
10:27 and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles,
10:31 and both are preserved. While he spake these things unto them,
10:35 behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him,
10:38 saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand
10:44 upon her, and she shall live. And Jesus arose, and followed
10:48 him, and so did his disciples. And, behold, a woman,
10:52 which was diseased with and issue of blood twelve years,
10:56 came behind him and touched the hem of his garment.
11:00 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment,
11:04 I shall be whole. But Jesus turned him about,
11:09 and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort;
11:13 thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole
11:17 from that hour. And when Jesus came into the ruler's house,
11:22 and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,
11:25 he said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead,
11:28 but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.
11:31 But when the people were put forth, he went in,
11:35 and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. And the fame
11:39 hereof went abroad into all that land. And when Jesus departed
11:44 thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying,
11:47 Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. And when he was come into
11:51 the house, the blind men came to him:
11:53 and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able
11:58 to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he
12:03 their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
12:07 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them,
12:12 saying, See that no man know it. But they, when they were
12:16 departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
12:19 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man
12:24 possessed with a devil. And when the devil was cast out,
12:28 the dumb spake: and the multitudes marveled,
12:31 saying, It was never so seen in Israel. But the Pharisees said,
12:36 He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.
12:41 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching
12:44 in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the
12:47 kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease
12:50 among the people, But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved
12:55 with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered
12:58 abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto
13:03 his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers
13:08 are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest,
13:11 that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
13:15 I'm reading from the book of Matthew, chapter 10.
13:18 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples,
13:22 he gave them power against unclean spirits,
13:25 to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness
13:28 and all manner of disease. Now the names of the 12 apostles
13:32 are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew
13:37 his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
13:41 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew
13:46 the publican, James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus,
13:50 whose surname was Thaddaeus; Simon the Canaanite, and Judas
13:54 Iscariot, who also betrayed him. These twelve Jesus sent forth,
13:59 and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the
14:03 Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not.
14:07 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel
14:11 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand
14:16 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead,
14:20 cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
14:25 Thank you again for joining me for HIS WORDS ARE LIFE.
14:29 Until we meet again, may the word keep you safe
14:32 in the love of God. Goodbye.
