00:16 Hi, and welcome back to His Words are Life.
00:19 I'm Kelly Mowrer. We're going to be reading today
00:22 from the book of Revelation. Before we begin,
00:24 let's pray together. Dear Jesus, Thank you so much for this
00:29 revelation of You. Help us to understand in a new way
00:35 the words that we will read here today, to draw closer
00:39 to you because of these words, to become more like you and
00:43 to love each other better. We thank you for loving us.
00:47 when we didn't deserve it, never will deserve it; but we love you
00:51 in our own humble, feeble little way. Please strengthen that love
00:56 Thank you again for this precious word. Amen.
00:59 We're reading today from Revelation beginning chapter 14,
01:04 verse 20. And the winepress was trodden without the city,
01:09 and blood came out of the winepress,
01:10 even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand
01:14 and six hundred furlongs. We're continuing now
01:17 with Revelation, Chapter 15, and this is the King James Version.
01:20 And I saw another sign in heaven great and marvelous,
01:24 seven angels, having the seven last plagues; for in them is
01:29 filled up the wrath of God. And I saw as it were a sea
01:33 of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten
01:37 the victory over the beast, and over his image,
01:39 and over his mark, and over the number of his name.
01:42 stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
01:46 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song
01:51 of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are thy works,
01:54 Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King
01:59 of saints. Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy
02:04 name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come
02:09 and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.
02:13 And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the
02:17 tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened.
02:20 And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven
02:24 plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their
02:28 breasts girded with golden girdles. And one of the four
02:32 beasts gave unto the 7 angels 7 golden vials full of the wrath
02:37 of God, who liveth forever and ever. And the temple was filled
02:41 with smoke from the glory of God and from his power: and no man
02:45 was able to enter into the temple, till the 7 plagues
02:49 of the 7 angels were fulfilled. Continuing in Revelation,
02:54 chapter 16, and this is the King James Version.
02:56 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the
03:00 7 angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath
03:04 of God upon the earth. And the first went, and poured out his
03:08 vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore
03:12 upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them
03:15 which worshipped his image. And the second angel poured out his
03:18 vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man;
03:23 and every living soul died in the sea.
03:25 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers
03:29 and fountains of waters; and they became blood.
03:31 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous,
03:36 O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast
03:40 judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets
03:44 and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
03:48 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God
03:53 Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments. And the 4th angel
03:58 poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given
04:01 unto him to scorch men with fire. And, men were scorched
04:04 with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God,
04:07 which hath power over these plagues and thy repented not
04:10 to give him glory. And the 5th angel poured out his vial
04:14 upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness
04:18 and they gnawed their tongues for pain, and blasphemed the God
04:23 of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented
04:27 not of their deeds. And the 6th angel poured out his vial upon
04:31 the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up,
04:35 that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
04:38 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth
04:43 of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast and out of
04:45 the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of
04:49 devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the
04:53 earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle
04:56 of that great day of God Almighty. Behold, I come
05:01 as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his
05:05 garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
05:08 And he gathered them together
05:11 into a place called in the Hebrew
05:13 tongue Armageddon. And the 7th angel poured out his vial into
05:17 the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of
05:20 heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
05:23 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings;
05:26 and there was a great earthquake such as was not since men were
05:30 upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake and so great.
05:33 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities
05:37 of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance
05:41 before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the
05:44 fierceness of his wrath. And every island fled away,
05:49 and the mountains were not found. And there fell upon men
05:53 a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight
05:56 of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the
06:01 hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.
06:04 Continuing in Revelation, chapter 17.
06:08 This is the King James Version.
06:09 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials
06:13 and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew
06:17 unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon
06:20 many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed
06:24 fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made
06:27 drunk with the wine of her fornication.
06:29 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness:
06:33 and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast,
06:37 full of names of blasphemy, having 7 heads and 10 horns.
06:41 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color,
06:46 and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls,
06:49 having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations
06:52 and filthiness of her fornication:
06:54 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY,
06:58 BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS
07:03 OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of
07:07 the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus:
07:09 and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration,
07:14 and the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel?
07:18 I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast
07:22 that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
07:25 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out
07:31 of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition:
07:33 and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were
07:38 not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world
07:41 when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
07:46 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are
07:52 seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
07:55 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is,
07:59 ant the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must
08:03 continue a short space. And the beast that was, and is not,
08:08 even he is the eighth, and is of the seven,
08:11 and goeth into perdition. And the ten horns which thou sawest
08:16 are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet;
08:20 but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
08:25 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength
08:29 unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb,
08:33 and the Lamb shall overcome them for he is the Lord of lords,
08:37 and King of kings: and they that are with him are called,
08:42 and chosen, and faithful. And he saith unto me, The waters
08:47 which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples,
08:50 and multitudes and nations, and tongues. And the ten horns
08:54 which thou sawest upon the beast,
08:56 these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate
09:00 and naked, and eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
09:03 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill his will and to agree
09:08 and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God
09:11 shall be fulfilled. And the woman which thou sawest
09:15 is that great city, which reigneth over the kings
09:18 of the earth. We're continuing with Revelation
09:22 chapter 18, and this is the King James Version.
09:25 And after these things I saw another angel come down
09:29 from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened
09:33 with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice,
09:37 saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become
09:41 the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit,
09:45 and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
09:48 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her
09:52 fornication, and the kings of committed fornication with her,
09:56 and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the
09:59 abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice
10:03 from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye
10:07 be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not
10:10 of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven,
10:14 and God hath remembered her iniquities. Reward her even
10:19 as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to
10:22 her works: in the cup which she hath filled, fill to her double.
10:26 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously,
10:30 so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart,
10:35 I sit a queen, and am not widow, and shall see no sorrow.
10:40 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning,
10:46 and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire:
10:50 for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
10:53 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication
10:56 and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament
11:01 for her when they shall see the smoke of her burning.
11:04 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas,
11:08 alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in 1 hour
11:13 is thy judgment come. And the merchants of the earth
11:17 shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth
11:21 their merchandise any more: The merchandise of gold,
11:24 and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen,
11:28 and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood,
11:32 and all manner vessels of ivory. and all manner vessels of most
11:36 precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, and cinnamon,
11:40 and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil,
11:44 and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses,
11:48 and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
11:51 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed
11:55 from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly
11:59 are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
12:04 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her,
12:08 shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping
12:12 and wailing, and saying, Alas, alas, that great city,
12:16 that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and
12:20 decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
12:22 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought.
12:28 And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships,
12:32 and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
12:37 and cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying,
12:40 What city is like unto this great city!
12:43 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping
12:48 and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were
12:54 made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her
12:58 costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
13:02 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles
13:06 and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.
13:10 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone,
13:14 and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence
13:19 shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found
13:23 no more at all. And the voice of harpers, and musicians,
13:28 and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all
13:32 in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be,
13:36 shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone
13:40 shall be heard no more at all in thee;
13:43 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee;
13:46 and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard
13:49 no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men
13:53 of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations
13:57 deceived. And in her was found the blood of prophets,
14:01 and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
14:06 Beginning with Revelation, chapter 19
14:09 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people
14:13 in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory,
14:18 and honor and power, unto the Lord our God:
14:22 Thank you for joining with me today to read the book of
14:26 Revelation. Please come again next time to hear the word
14:29 of life from God in heaven. Goodbye.
