00:15 Hi and welcome back to His Words Are Life.
00:18 I'm Kelly Mower and thank you 00:19 for being with me to read the 00:20 Word of God today. Before we start reading together, 00:22 let's have prayer. 00:24 Dear Jesus, thank you so much that You have sent Your words 00:27 to us to guide our feet safely as we walk through life. 00:32 We don't want to walk alone. 00:34 We don't want to walk on our own; we want to walk with You 00:36 in Your wisdom. So please, as we read together right now, 00:39 please send the Holy Spirit to guide our minds into 00:42 a deeper understanding of the truth 00:45 and of a deeper understanding of the things that You want us 00:48 to learn from these stories that happened so many thousands 00:51 of years ago. We love You and thank You for loving us. Amen. 00:56 We are reading in the book of Exodus, and when we last 00:59 left off Moses had been instructed by God in all the 01:04 different patterns and materials and the furnishings and so forth 01:09 to build the sanctuary. 01:10 And so Moses was standing before the children of Israel and 01:13 saying "Let those among you who are wisehearted and willing 01:18 come forth and make these things. " 01:21 And he is making a list. 01:22 He's listing out all the different things that need to be 01:23 made for the tabernacle. And that's where we're picking up. 01:26 This is Exodus chapter 35. 01:29 We are picking up with verse 13. 01:31 He's continuing to list out the things that will be made. 01:34 The table, and his staves, and all his vessels, 01:37 and the showbread. The candlestick also for the 01:39 light, and his furniture, and his lamps, 01:41 with the oil for the light, And the incense altar, and his 01:44 staves, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, 01:47 and the hanging for the door at the entering in of the 01:49 tabernacle, The altar of burnt offering, with his brazen grate, 01:53 his staves, and all his vessels, the laver, and his foot, 01:57 The hangings of the court, his pillars, and their sockets, 02:00 and the hanging for the door of the court, 02:01 The pins of the tabernacle, and the pins of the court, and their 02:04 cords, The cloths of service, to do service in the holy place, 02:08 the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments 02:12 of his sons, to minister in the priest's office. 02:15 And all the congregation of the children of Israel 02:19 departed from the presence of Moses. 02:21 And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, 02:25 and every one whom his spirit made willing, 02:27 and they brought the Lord's offering to the work of the 02:30 tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, 02:34 and for the holy garments. 02:36 And they came, both men and women, as many as were 02:39 willinghearted, and brought bracelets, and earrings, 02:41 and rings, and tablets, all jewels of gold: 02:44 and every man that offered offered an offering of gold 02:47 unto the Lord. And every man with whom was found blue, 02:52 and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair, 02:55 and red skins of rams, and badgers' skins, brought them. 02:59 Every one that did offer an offering of silver and brass 03:02 brought the Lord's offering: and every man, with whom was 03:06 found shittim wood for any work of the service, brought it. 03:09 And all the women that were wisehearted did spin with their 03:13 hands, and brought that which they had spun, 03:16 both of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine linen. 03:20 And all the women whose heart stirred them up in wisdom 03:23 spun goats' hair. And the rulers brought onyx stones, 03:27 and stones to be set, for the ephod, and for the breastplate; 03:30 And spice, and oil for the light, and for the 03:33 anointing oil, and for the sweet incense. 03:35 The children of Israel brought a willing offering unto the Lord, 03:40 every man and woman, whose heart made them willing 03:44 to bring for all manner of work, which the Lord had commanded 03:47 to be made by the hand of Moses. 03:50 And Moses said unto the children of Israel, 03:52 See, the Lord hath called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, 03:57 the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; 03:59 And He hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, 04:02 in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner 04:06 of workmanship; And to devise curious works, 04:09 to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, 04:11 In the cutting of stones, to set them, 04:14 and in carving of wood, to make any manner of cunning work. 04:17 And He hath put in his heart that he may teach, 04:20 both he, and Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, 04:23 of the tribe of Dan. 04:24 Them hath He filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner 04:28 of work, of the engraver, and of the cunning workman, 04:31 and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, 04:34 and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do 04:38 any work, and of those that devise cunning work. 04:42 We are continuing to read in the book of Exodus 04:44 chapter 36, and this is the King James version. 04:49 Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab and every wisehearted 04:52 man, in whom the Lord put wisdom and understanding to know how 04:56 to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary 04:59 according to all that the Lord had commanded. 05:02 And Moses called Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wisehearted 05:07 man, in whose heart the Lord had put wisdom, 05:09 even every one whose heart stirred him up to come 05:12 unto the work to do it: And they received of Moses 05:15 all the offering, which the children of Israel had brought 05:18 for the work of the service of the sanctuary, 05:20 to make it withal. And they brought yet unto him 05:23 free offerings every morning. And all the wise men, 05:27 that wrought all the work of the sanctuary, 05:29 came every man from his work which they made; 05:32 And they spake unto Moses, saying, 05:33 The people bring much more than enough for the service of the 05:36 work, which the Lord commanded to make. 05:43 And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed 05:47 throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman 05:49 make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. 05:52 So the people were restrained 05:54 from bringing. For the stuff 05:55 they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, 05:57 and too much. 05:59 And every wisehearted man among them that wrought the work of 06:02 the tabernacle made ten curtains of fine twined linen, 06:06 and blue, and purple, and scarlet: 06:08 with cherubim of cunning work made he them. 06:11 The length of one curtain was twenty and eight cubits, 06:14 and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: 06:16 the curtains were all of one size. 06:18 And he coupled the five curtains one unto another: 06:22 and the other five curtains he coupled one unto another. 06:24 And he made loops of blue on the edge of one curtain 06:27 from the selvedge in the coupling: 06:29 likewise he made in the uttermost side of another 06:31 curtain, in the coupling of the second. 06:33 Fifty loops made he in one curtain, 06:36 and fifty loops made in the edge of the curtain which was 06:39 in the coupling of the second: 06:40 the loops held one curtain to another. 06:43 And he made fifty taches of gold, and coupled the curtains 06:46 one unto another with the taches: 06:48 so it became one tabernacle. 06:51 And he made curtains of goats' hair for the tent over the 06:54 tabernacle: eleven curtains he made them. 06:56 The length of one curtain was thirty cubits, 06:59 and four cubits was the breadth of one curtain: 07:01 the eleven curtains were of one size. 07:03 And he coupled five curtains by themselves, 07:06 and six curtains by themselves. 07:08 And he made fifty loops upon the uttermost edge of the curtain 07:12 in the coupling, and fifty loops made he upon the edge of the 07:15 curtain which coupleth the second. 07:16 And he made fifty taches of brass to couple the tent 07:20 together, that it might be one. 07:22 And he made a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, 07:26 and a covering of badgers' skins above that. 07:29 And he made boards for the tabernacle of shittim wood, 07:32 standing up. The length of a board was ten cubits, 07:35 and the breadth of a board was one cubit and a half. 07:38 One board had two tenons, 07:39 equally distant one from another: 07:41 thus did he make for all the boards of the tabernacle. 07:44 And he made boards for the tabernacle; 07:47 twenty boards for the south side southward: 07:49 And forty sockets of silver he made under the twenty boards; 07:53 two sockets under one board for his two tenons, 07:56 and two sockets under another board for his two tenons. 07:58 And for the other side of the tabernacle, which is toward 08:01 the north corner, he made twenty boards. 08:03 And their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one 08:06 board, and two sockets under another board. 08:08 For the sides of the tabernacle westward he made six boards. 08:12 And two boards made he for the corners of the tabernacle 08:16 in the two sides. And they were coupled beneath, 08:19 and coupled together at the head thereof, to one ring: 08:22 thus he did to both of them in both the corners. 08:26 And there were eight boards; and their sockets were sixteen 08:28 sockets of silver, under every board two sockets. 08:32 And he made bars of shittim wood; 08:34 five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle, 08:37 And five bars for the boards of the other side of the 08:40 tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle 08:43 for the sides westward. 08:44 And he made the middle bar to shoot through the boards 08:48 from the one end to the other. 08:49 And he overlaid the boards with gold, 08:51 and made their rings of gold to be places for the bars, 08:54 and overlaid the bars with gold. 08:56 And he made a veil of blue, and purple, and scarlet, 09:00 and fine twined linen: with cherubim made he it 09:03 of cunning work. 09:05 And he made thereunto four pillars of shittim wood, 09:08 and overlaid them with gold: their hooks were of gold; 09:11 and he cast for them four sockets of silver. 09:15 And he made a hanging for the tabernacle door of blue, 09:18 and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, 09:21 of needlework; And the five pillars of it with their hooks: 09:25 and he overlaid their chapiters and their fillets with gold: 09:28 but their five sockets were of brass. 09:31 We are continuing on in the 09:33 book of Exodus with chapter 37. 09:35 And this is the King James version. 09:37 And Bezaleel made the ark of shittim wood: 09:41 two cubits and a half was the length of it, 09:43 and a cubit and half the breadth of it, 09:45 and a cubit and a half the height of it: 09:47 And he overlaid it with pure gold within and without, 09:52 and made a crown of gold to it round about. 09:55 And he cast for it four rings of gold, to be set by the four 10:00 corners of it; even two rings upon the one side of it, 10:03 and two rings upon the other side of it. 10:05 And he made staves of shittim wood, and overlaid them 10:08 with gold. And he put the staves into the rings by the sides 10:12 the ark, to bear the ark. 10:14 And he made the mercy seat of pure gold: 10:17 two cubits and a half was the length thereof, 10:20 and one cubit and a half the breadth thereof. 10:22 And he made two cherubim of gold, beaten out of one piece 10:25 made he them, on the two ends of the mercy seat; 10:28 One cherub on the end on this side, and another cherub 10:32 on the other end on that side: out of the mercy seat made he 10:36 the cherubim on the two ends thereof. 10:38 And the cherubim spread out their wings on high, 10:41 and covered with their wings over the mercy seat, 10:43 with their faces one to another; even to the mercy seatward 10:48 were the faces of the cherubim. 10:50 And he made the table of shittim wood: 10:53 two cubits was the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth 10:56 thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof: 10:58 And he overlaid it with pure gold, 11:01 and made thereunto a crown of gold round about. 11:05 Also he made thereunto a border of a handbreadth round about; 11:09 and made a crown of gold for the border thereof round about. 11:13 And he cast for it four rings of gold, and put the rings 11:16 upon the four corners that were in the four feet thereof. 11:19 Over against the border were the rings, the places for the staves 11:23 to bear the table. And he made the staves of shittim wood, 11:26 and overlaid them with gold, to bear the table. 11:29 And he made the vessels which were upon the table, his dishes, 11:32 and his spoons, and his bowls, and his covers to cover withal, 11:36 of pure gold. 11:38 And he made the candlestick of pure gold: 11:41 of beaten work made he the candlestick; his shaft, 11:45 and his branch, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, 11:48 were of the same: And six branches going out 11:51 of the sides thereof; three branches of the candlestick 11:54 out of the one side thereof, and three branches of the 11:57 candlestick out of the other side thereof: 11:59 Three bowls made after the fashion of almonds 12:02 in one branch, a knop and a flower; and three bowls 12:06 made like almonds in another branch, a knop and a flower: 12:10 so throughout the six branches going out of the candlestick. 12:13 And in the candlestick were four bowls made like almonds, 12:17 his knops, and his flowers: 12:19 And a knop under two branches of the same, 12:21 and a knop under two branches of the same, 12:23 and a knop under two branches of the same, 12:25 according to the six branches going out of it. 12:28 Their knops and their branches were of the same: 12:32 all of it was one beaten work of pure gold. 12:35 And he made his seven lamps, and his snuffers, 12:38 and his snuffdishes, of pure gold. 12:40 Of a talent of pure gold made he it, and all the vessels thereof. 12:45 And he made the incense altar of shittim wood: 12:47 the length of it was a cubit, and the breadth of it a cubit; 12:50 it was foursquare; and two cubits was the height of it; 12:53 the horns thereof were of the same. 12:55 And he overlaid it with pure gold, both the top of it, 12:59 and the sides thereof round about, and the horns of it: 13:02 also he made unto it a crown of gold round about. 13:06 And he made two rings of gold for it under the crown thereof, 13:09 by the two corners of it, upon the two sides thereof, 13:12 to be places for the staves to bear it withal. 13:15 And he made the staves of shittim wood, 13:17 and overlaid them with gold. 13:19 And he made the holy anointing oil, and the pure incense 13:22 of sweet spices, according to the work of the apothecary. 13:26 We're continuing to read in the 13:27 book of Exodus, and this is 13:28 chapter 38.
