00:15 Hello, and welcome to His Words are Life.
00:17 I'm Kelly Mowrer and today we're going to continue reading in the 00:20 book of Psalms. Let's pray together before we start. 00:23 Dear Lord, thank you that we can come apart now and hear the 00:28 words of praise written all these thousands of years ago. 00:32 And think of how those words apply in our lives today. 00:36 We thank you for all of your goodness to us. Amen. 00:41 We reading beginning in Psalm 29 This is the King James Version. 00:47 A Psalm of David. Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, 00:52 give unto the Lord glory and strength. 00:56 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; 01:00 Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. 01:03 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters: 01:07 the God of glory thundereth: the Lord is upon many waters. 01:11 The voice of the Lord is powerful; 01:13 the voice of the Lord is full of majesty. 01:16 The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars; yea, the Lord 01:20 breaketh the cedars of Lebanon. He maketh them also to skip 01:25 like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn. 01:29 The voice of the Lord divideth the flames of fire. 01:32 The voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness; 01:35 The Lord shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh. 01:37 The voice of the Lord maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth 01:42 the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak 01:47 of his glory. The Lord sitteth upon the flood; yea, 01:52 the Lord sitteth King for ever. The Lord will give strength 01:58 unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace. 02:03 Psalm 30. A Psalm and Song at the dedication of the house 02:11 of David. I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up 02:17 and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. O Lord my God, 02:23 I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. 02:26 O Lord, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: 02:30 thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. 02:34 Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the 02:39 remembrance of his holiness. For his anger endureth but a 02:43 moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, 02:49 but joy cometh in the morning. And in my prosperity I said, 02:55 I shall never be moved. Lord, by thy favor thou hast made 03:01 my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, 03:05 and I was troubled. I cried to thee, O Lord; and unto the Lord 03:09 I made supplication. What profit is there in my blood, when I go 03:13 down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare 03:17 thy truth? Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me: 03:21 Lord, be thou my helper. Thou has turned for me my mourning 03:28 into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me 03:32 with gladness; To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee 03:37 and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks 03:42 unto thee for ever. Psalm 31. 03:46 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. 03:50 In thee O Lord do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: 03:54 deliver me in thy righteousness. Bow down thine ear to me; 03:59 deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of 04:04 of defense to save me. For thou art my rock and my fortress; 04:08 therefore for thy name's sake lead me and guide me. 04:13 Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: 04:17 for thou art my strength. Into thine hand I commit my spirit: 04:23 thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth. I have hated them 04:30 that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the Lord. 04:34 I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast 04:38 considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities; 04:42 and hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: 04:45 thou hast set my feet in a large room. Have mercy upon me, 04:50 O Lord, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, 04:55 yea, my soul and my belly. For my life is spent with grief, 04:59 and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of 05:04 mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed. I was a reproach among 05:09 all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbors, and a fear 05:13 to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me. 05:19 I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken 05:23 vessel. For I have heard the slander of many: 05:26 fear was on every side: while they took counsel together 05:31 against me, they devised to take away my life. But I trusted 05:35 in thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my God. 05:38 My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of 05:44 mine enemies, and from them that persecute me. 05:46 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercy's 05:52 sake. Let me not be ashamed, O Lord for I have called upon thee 05:57 let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave 06:01 Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous 06:06 things proudly and contemptuously against 06:08 the righteous. Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast 06:14 laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them 06:17 that trust in thee before the sons of men! 06:19 Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence 06:24 from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly 06:28 in a pavilion from the strife of tongues. Blessed be the Lord: 06:33 For he hath shewed me his marvelous kindness in a strong 06:37 city. For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine 06:42 eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications 06:46 when I cried unto thee. O love the Lord, all ye his saints: 06:51 for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully 06:55 rewardeth the proud doer. Be of good courage, and he shall 07:01 strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord. 07:05 Psalm 32. A Psalm of David, Maschil. 07:10 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, 07:15 whose sin is covered. Blessed the man unto whom the Lord 07:21 imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. 07:26 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring 07:31 all the day long. For day and night thy hand was heavy upon 07:36 me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. 07:40 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid 07:46 I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; 07:50 and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. 07:55 For this shall everyone that is godly pray unto thee in a time 08:01 when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great 08:05 waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Thou art my 08:10 hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; 08:13 thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. 08:17 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt 08:21 go; I will guide thee with mine eye. Be ye not as the horse, 08:25 or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth 08:28 must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near 08:31 unto thee. Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; but he that 08:37 trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about. 08:41 Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: 08:44 and shout for Joy, all ye that are upright in heart. 08:49 Psalm 33. And this is the King James Version. 08:53 Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely 08:59 for the upright. Praise the Lord with harp: sing unto him 09:04 with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings. 09:07 Sing unto him a new song; play skillfully with a loud 09:12 noise. For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works 09:16 are done in truth. He loveth righteousness and judgment: 09:20 the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. 09:23 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; 09:26 And all the host of them 09:27 by the breath of his mouth. He gathereth the waters 09:30 of the seed together as an heap: he layeth up the depth 09:34 in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the Lord: 09:37 Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. 09:41 For he spake and it was done: he commanded, and it stood fast. 09:48 The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to naught: 09:51 he maketh the devices of the people of none effect. 09:56 The counsel of the Lord standeth forever, the thoughts of his 10:00 heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God 10:06 is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own 10:09 inheritance. The Lord looketh from heaven; he beholdeth 10:14 all the sons of men. From the place of his habitation he 10:18 looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth. He fashioneth 10:22 their hearts alike; he considereth all their works. 10:25 There is no king saved by the multitude of and host: 10:30 A mighty man is not delivered by much strength. 10:34 An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver 10:38 any by his great strength. Behold, the eye of the Lord 10:43 is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope 10:46 in his mercy; to deliver their soul from death, and to keep 10:51 them alive in famine. Our soul waiteth for the Lord: 10:56 he is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in 11:02 him, because we have trusted in his holy name. 11:05 Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee 11:11 Psalm 34. A Psalm of David, when he changed his behavior before 11:18 Abimilech; who drove him away, and he departed. 11:22 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall 11:28 continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast 11:32 in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. 11:36 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name 11:41 together. I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered 11:45 me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were 11:50 lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried 11:54 and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his 11:57 troubles. The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them 12:02 that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the 12:07 Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the 12:12 Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him 12:15 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that 12:20 seek the Lord shall not want any good thing. Come ye children, 12:24 hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord. 12:27 What man is he that desireth life and loveth many days, 12:32 that he may see good? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips 12:36 from speaking guile. Depart from evil, and do good; 12:40 seek peace, and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are upon 12:45 the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. 12:48 The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off 12:52 the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry, 12:56 and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their 13:00 troubles. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; 13:05 and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. 13:09 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord 13:14 delivereth him out of them all. He keepeth all his bones 13:18 not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked: 13:23 and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. 13:25 The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them 13:30 that trust in him shall be desolate. - Psalm 35. 13:34 A Psalm of David. - Plead my cause, O Lord, with them that 13:39 strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. 13:42 Take hold of shield and buckler and stand up for mine help. 13:47 Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that 13:51 persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation. 13:55 Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul 13:59 let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise 14:03 my hurt. Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the 14:07 angel of the Lord chase them. Let their way be dark 14:10 and slippery: and let the angel of the Lord persecute them. 14:12 For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, 14:16 which without cause they have digged for my soul. 14:19 Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net 14:24 that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction 14:28 let him fall. And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord. 14:33 it shall rejoice in his salvation. 14:37 Thank you. Come again next time. Goodbye. |
