00:13 Hello, and welcome to His Words Are Life.
00:16 I'm Kelly Mowrer, and thank you for joining with me to read 00:18 the word of God today. 00:19 Let's pray together before we start. 00:21 Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for love to us. 00:25 Thank You for Your mercy and for Your grace. 00:28 And thank You for giving us strength and power 00:32 through Your word. 00:34 Please be with us now as we read. 00:36 Help us to listen, and then may it bear fruit in our lives. 00:39 We love You, and thank You for loving us. 00:41 Amen. 00:42 We're reading in the book of Psalms, chapter 68, 00:46 picking up with verse 32, and this is the King James Version. 00:50 Sing unto God, ye kingdoms of the earth; 00:54 O sing praises unto the Lord; Selah. 00:58 To him that rideth upon the heavens of heavens, 01:02 which were of old; lo, he doth send out his voice, 01:05 and that a mighty voice. 01:07 Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, 01:13 and his strength is in the clouds. 01:15 O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: 01:20 the God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power 01:25 unto his people. 01:27 Blessed be God. 01:28 Continuing with Psalm 69. 01:31 This is the King James Version. 01:32 Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul. 01:37 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: 01:42 I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. 01:47 I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: 01:52 mine eyes fail while I wait for my God. 01:55 They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of 01:58 mine head: they that would destroy me, 02:01 being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: 02:05 then I restored that which I took not away. 02:08 O God, thou knowest my foolishness; 02:12 and my sins are not hid from thee. 02:16 Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord God of hosts, 02:20 be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be 02:25 confounded for my sake, O God of Israel. 02:28 Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; 02:31 shame hath covered my face. 02:33 I am become a stranger unto my brethren, 02:37 and an alien unto my mother's children. 02:40 For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; 02:44 and the reproaches of them that reproached thee 02:47 are fallen upon me. 02:49 When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, 02:53 that was to my reproach. 02:55 I made sackcloth also my garment; 02:57 and I became a proverb to them. 02:59 They that sit in the gate speak against me; 03:03 and I was the song of the drunkards. 03:06 But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O Lord, 03:11 in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy 03:16 hear me, in the truth of thy salvation. 03:19 Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: 03:22 let me be delivered from them that hate me, 03:26 and out of the deep waters. 03:28 Let not the waterflood overflow me, 03:30 neither let the deep swallow me up, 03:32 and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me. 03:35 Hear me, O Lord; for thy loving-kindness is good: 03:39 turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies. 03:44 And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: 03:49 hear me speedily. 03:50 Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: 03:54 deliver me because of mine enemies. 03:57 Thou hast known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonor: 04:01 mine adversaries are all before thee. 04:04 Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: 04:08 and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; 04:13 and for comforters, but I found none. 04:16 They gave me also gall for my meat; 04:20 and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink. 04:23 Let their table become a snare before them: 04:26 and that which should have been for their welfare, 04:29 let it become a trap. 04:30 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; 04:34 and make their loins continually to shake. 04:38 Pour out thine indignation upon them, 04:41 and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them. 04:43 Let their habitation be desolate; 04:46 and let none dwell in their tents. 04:48 For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; 04:52 and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded. 04:56 Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come 05:00 into thy righteousness. 05:01 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, 05:04 and not be written with the righteous. 05:07 But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, 05:13 set me up on high. 05:15 I will praise the name of God with a song, 05:18 and will magnify him with thanksgiving. 05:20 This also shall please the Lord better than an ox or bullock 05:24 that hath horns and hoofs. 05:26 the humble shall see this, and be glad: 05:29 and your heart shall live that seek God. 05:33 For the Lord heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners. 05:38 Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, 05:41 and every thing that moveth therein. 05:43 For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: 05:47 that they may dwell there, and have it in possession. 05:51 The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: 05:55 and they that love his name shall dwell therein. 05:59 Continuing with Psalm 70. 06:02 This is the King James Version. 06:05 Make haste, O God, to deliver me; 06:07 make haste to help me, O Lord. 06:10 Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after 06:14 my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, 06:18 that desire my hurt. 06:19 Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, 06:23 Aha, aha. 06:25 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: 06:31 and let such as love thy salvation say continually, 06:36 Let God be magnified. 06:38 But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: 06:43 thou art my help and my deliverer; O Lord, 06:48 make no tarrying. 06:50 Psalm 71. 06:53 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: 06:57 let me never be put to confusion. 07:01 Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: 07:07 incline thine ear unto me, and save me. 07:10 Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually 07:15 resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; 07:18 for thou art my rock and my fortress. 07:21 Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, 07:24 out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. 07:28 For thou art my hope, O Lord God: 07:31 thou art my trust from my youth. 07:34 By thee have I been held up from the womb: 07:37 thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: 07:41 my praise shall be continually of thee. 07:44 I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge. 07:50 Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honor 07:55 all the day. 07:56 Cast me not off in the time of old age; 08:00 forsake me not when my strength faileth. 08:03 For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait 08:07 for my soul take counsel together, saying, 08:10 God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; 08:13 for there is none to deliver him. 08:14 O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help. 08:19 Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries 08:24 to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonor 08:28 that seek my hurt. 08:30 But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee 08:35 more and more. 08:37 My mouth shall show forth thy righteousness and thy salvation 08:41 all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof. 08:44 I will go in the strength of the Lord God: 08:47 I will make mention of thy righteousness, 08:50 even of thine only. 08:52 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: 08:56 and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works. 09:00 Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, 09:04 forsake me not; until I have shown thy strength unto this 09:08 generation, and thy power to every one that is to come. 09:12 Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, 09:15 who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee! 09:20 Thou, which hast shown me great and sore troubles, 09:23 shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again 09:27 from the depths of the earth. 09:29 Thou shalt increase my greatness, 09:31 and comfort me on every side. 09:33 I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, 09:37 O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, 09:40 O thou Holy One of Israel. 09:42 My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; 09:47 and my soul, which thou hast redeemed. 09:50 My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: 09:55 for thy are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, 09:59 that seek my hurt. 10:02 Psalm 72. 10:06 Give the king thy judgments, O God, 10:08 and thy righteousness unto the king's son. 10:11 He shall judge thy people with righteousness, 10:13 and thy poor with judgment. 10:15 the mountains shall bring peace to the people, 10:18 and the little hills, by righteousness. 10:20 He shall judge the poor of the people, 10:22 he shall save the children of the needy, 10:25 and shall break in pieces the oppressor. 10:27 They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, 10:32 throughout all generations. 10:33 He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: 10:38 as showers that water the earth. 10:40 In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace 10:46 so long as the moon endureth. 10:48 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, 10:51 and from the river unto the ends of the earth. 10:54 They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; 10:58 and his enemies shall lick the dust. 11:00 the kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: 11:05 the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. 11:08 Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: 11:11 all nations shall serve him. 11:13 For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, 11:18 and him that hath no helper. 11:20 He shall spare the poor and needy, 11:22 and shall save the souls of the needy. 11:25 He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: 11:28 and precious shall their blood be in his sight. 11:32 And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold 11:37 of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; 11:42 and daily shall he be praised. 11:45 There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top 11:48 of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake 11:51 like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass 11:55 of the earth. 11:56 His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued 12:00 as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: 12:02 all nations shall call him blessed. 12:05 Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, 12:09 who only doeth wondrous things. 12:11 And blessed be his glorious name for ever: 12:14 and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; 12:18 Amen, and Amen. 12:20 the prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended. 12:26 Psalm 73, and this is the King James Version. 12:31 Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are 12:36 of a clean heart. 12:37 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; 12:40 my steps had well-nigh slipped. 12:43 For I was envious at the foolish, 12:46 when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. 12:48 For there are no bands in their death: 12:50 but their strength is firm. 12:51 They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued 12:55 like other men. 12:56 Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; 13:00 violence covereth them as a garment. 13:03 Their eyes stand out with fatness: 13:06 they have more than heart could wish. 13:09 They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: 13:13 they speak loftily. 13:14 they set their mouth against the heavens, 13:16 and their tongue walketh through the earth. 13:18 Therefore his people return hither: 13:21 and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them. 13:23 And they say, How doth God know? 13:26 and is there knowledge in the most High? 13:28 Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; 13:33 they increase in riches. 13:35 Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, 13:38 and washed my hands in innocency. 13:40 For all the day long have I been plagued, 13:43 and chastened every morning. 13:44 If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against 13:50 the generation of thy children. 13:52 When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; 13:56 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; 14:00 then understood I their end. 14:03 Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: 14:07 thou castedst them down into destruction. 14:10 How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! 14:13 they are utterly consumed with terrors. 14:17 As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, 14:22 thou shalt despise their image. 14:25 Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins. 14:29 So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee. 14:33 Please join me again next time to continue reading in Psalms. 14:37 Goodbye. |
