00:16 Hello and welcome to "His words are life."
00:18 I am Kelly Mowrer and thank you for 00:20 joining with me today to read the word 00:22 of God, let's pray before we start. 00:25 Dear Heavenly Father, thank you again for 00:28 time to spend especially focused on hearing 00:32 your message to us. Please send your 00:35 Holy Spirit to, plant these words 00:38 deep into our hearts where they will be 00:39 a fruit for your glory. We love you so much 00:42 and thank you for loving us, amen. 00:46 We are reading in the book of Psalms chapter 00:48 105 beginning with verse 4 and this is 00:52 the King James Version. Seek the Lord, 00:57 and his strength: seek his face evermore. 01:01 Remember his marvelous works 01:03 that he hath done; his wonders, 01:05 and the judgments of his mouth; 01:08 O ye seed of Abraham his servant, 01:10 ye children of Jacob his chosen. 01:13 He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in 01:17 all the earth. He hath remembered his 01:20 covenant for ever, the word which he 01:23 commanded to a thousand generations. 01:25 Which covenant he made with Abraham, 01:26 and his oath unto Isaac; And confirmed the 01:29 same unto Jacob for a law, 01:32 and to Israel for an everlasting covenant: 01:35 Saying, Unto thee will I give the 01:37 land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance: 01:41 When they were but a few men in number; 01:43 yea, very few, and strangers in it. 01:48 When they went from one nation to another, 01:50 from one kingdom to another people; 01:52 He suffered no man to do them wrong: 01:55 yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; 01:58 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, 02:00 and do my prophets no harm. 02:03 Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: 02:05 he brake the whole staff of bread. 02:08 He sent a man before them, even Joseph, 02:11 who was sold for a servant: 02:13 Whose feet they hurt with fetters: 02:16 he was laid in iron: Until the time 02:20 that his word came: the word of the 02:21 Lord tried him. The King sent and loosed him; 02:26 even the ruler of the people, 02:28 and let him go free. He made him lord of 02:31 his house, and ruler of all his substance: 02:33 To bind his princes at his pleasure; 02:36 and teach his senators wisdom. 02:39 Israel also came into Egypt; 02:40 and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham. 02:44 And he increased his people greatly; 02:46 and made them stronger than their enemies. 02:48 He turned their heart to hate his people, 02:52 to deal subtilly with his servants. 02:55 He sent Moses his servant; 02:56 and Aaron whom he had chosen. 02:59 They shewed his signs among them, 03:00 and wonders in the land of Ham. 03:03 He sent darkness, and made it dark; 03:06 and they rebelled not against his word. 03:09 He turned their waters into blood, 03:11 and slew their fish. Their land brought 03:14 forth frogs in abundance, 03:15 in the chambers of their kings. 03:18 He spake, and there came 03:19 divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their 03:22 coasts. He gave them hail for rain, 03:25 and flaming fire in their land. 03:28 He smote their vines also and their fig trees; 03:30 and brake the trees of their coasts. 03:34 He spake, and the locusts came, 03:36 and caterpillers, and that without number, 03:39 And did eat up all the herbs in their land, 03:41 and devoured the fruit of their ground. 03:44 He smote also all the firstborn in their land, 03:47 the chief of all their strength. 03:51 He brought them forth also with 03:52 silver and gold: and there was not 03:54 one feeble person among their tribes. 03:58 Egypt was glad when they departed: 04:00 for the fear of them fell upon them. 04:04 He spread a cloud for a covering; and 04:06 fire to give light in the night. 04:09 The people asked, and he brought quails, 04:12 and satisfied them with the bread of heaven. 04:16 He opened the rock, and the waters 04:18 gushed out; they ran in the dry 04:21 places like a river. For he remembered 04:25 his holy promise, and Abraham his servant. 04:29 And he brought forth his people with joy, 04:32 and his chosen with gladness: 04:34 And gave them the lands of the heathen: 04:37 and they inherited the labor of the people; 04:40 That they might observe his statutes, 04:41 and keep his laws. Praise ye the Lord. 04:45 Psalms chapter 106 and this is the King 04:47 James Version. Praise ye the LORD. 04:52 O give thanks unto the Lord; 04:54 for he is good: for his mercy 04:56 endureth for ever. Who can utter the 04:59 mighty acts of the Lord? Who can shew forth 05:02 all his praise? Blessed are they that 05:05 keep judgment, and he that doeth 05:06 righteousness at all times. Remember me, 05:10 O Lord, with the favor that thou bearest 05:12 unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation; 05:16 That I may see the good of thy chosen, 05:20 that I may rejoice in the gladness of 05:22 thy nation, that I may glory with 05:25 thine inheritance. We have sinned with 05:28 our fathers, we have committed iniquity, 05:32 we have done wickedly. Our fathers understood 05:36 not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered 05:38 not the multitude of thy mercies; 05:40 but provoked him at the sea, 05:41 even at the Red sea. Nevertheless he saved 05:44 them for his name's sake, that he might make 05:48 his mighty power to be known. 05:51 He rebuked the Red sea also, 05:54 and it was dried up: so he led them through 05:56 the depths, as through the wilderness. 05:58 And he saved them from the hand of him 06:00 that hated them, and redeemed 06:01 them from the hand of the enemy. 06:03 And the waters covered their enemies: 06:05 there was not one of them left. 06:08 Then believed they his words; 06:10 they sang his praise. 06:13 They soon forgot his works; 06:15 they waited not for his counsel: 06:18 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, 06:20 and tempted God in the desert. 06:22 And he gave them their request; 06:25 but sent leanness into their soul. 06:29 They envied Moses also in the camp, 06:31 and Aaron the saint of the Lord. 06:34 The earth opened and swallowed up 06:36 Dathan and covered the company of Abiram. 06:39 And a fire was kindled in their company; 06:41 the flame burned up the wicked. 06:44 They made a calf in Horeb, 06:46 and worshiped the molten image. 06:49 Thus they changed their glory into the 06:52 similitude of an ox that eateth grass. 06:56 They forgot God their saviour, 06:57 which had done great things in Egypt; 06:59 Wondrous works in the land of Ham, 07:01 and terrible things by the Red sea. 07:04 Therefore he said that he would destroy them, 07:07 had not Moses his chosen stood before 07:11 him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, 07:15 lest he should destroy them. 07:17 Yea, they despised the pleasant land, 07:21 they believed not his word: 07:22 But murmured in their tents, 07:25 and hearkened not unto the voice of the Lord. 07:29 Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, 07:32 to overthrow them in the wilderness: 07:34 To overthrow their seed also among the nations, 07:36 and to scatter them in the lands. 07:39 They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor, 07:42 and ate the sacrifices of the dead. 07:45 Thus they provoked him to anger with 07:48 their inventions: and the plague brake 07:51 in upon them. Then stood up Phinehas, 07:55 and executed judgment: and so the plague was 07:57 stayed. And that was counted unto him 08:00 for righteousness unto all generations 08:02 for evermore. They angered him 08:05 also at the waters of strife, 08:07 so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes: 08:10 Because they provoked his spirit, 08:11 so that he spake unadvisedly 08:14 with his lips. They did not destroy 08:17 the nations, concerning whom the 08:19 Lord commanded them: But were mingled among 08:22 the heathen, and learned their works. 08:25 And they served their idols: 08:27 which were a snare unto them. 08:29 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their 08:31 daughters unto devils, And shed innocent 08:34 blood, even the blood of their sons 08:37 and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed 08:39 unto the idols of Canaan: 08:41 and the land was polluted with blood. 08:45 Thus were they defiled with their own works, 08:48 and went a whoring with their own inventions. 08:52 Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled 08:54 against his people, insomuch that he 08:57 abhorred his own inheritance. 09:00 And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; 09:03 and they that hated them ruled over them. 09:07 Their enemies also oppressed them, 09:09 and they were brought into subjection 09:11 under their hand. Many times did he 09:14 deliver them; but they provoked 09:16 him with their counsel, and were brought low 09:20 for their iniquity. Nevertheless 09:23 he regarded their affliction, 09:26 when he heard their cry: 09:28 And he remembered for them his covenant, 09:31 and repented according to the multitude 09:34 of his mercies. He made them also to 09:37 be pitied of all those that carried 09:39 them captives. Save us, O Lord our God, 09:42 and gather us from among the heathen, 09:45 to give thanks unto thy holy name, 09:47 and to triumph in thy praise. 09:49 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from 09:52 everlasting to everlasting: 09:54 and let all the people say, Amen. 09:58 Praise ye the Lord. Psalm 107, 10:03 this is the King James Version. 10:06 O give thanks unto the Lord, 10:08 for he is good: for his mercy 10:10 endureth for ever. Let the redeemed 10:14 of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed 10:17 from the hand of the enemy; 10:18 And gathered them out of the lands, 10:20 from the east, and from the west, 10:21 from the north, and from the south. 10:23 They wandered in the wilderness in a 10:25 solitary way; they found no city 10:27 to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, 10:31 their soul fainted in them. 10:34 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, 10:36 and he delivered them out of their distresses. 10:39 And he led them forth by the right way, 10:42 that they might go to a city of habitation. 10:45 Oh that men would praise the Lord 10:47 for his goodness, and for his wonderful 10:50 works to the children of men! 10:53 For he satisfieth the longing soul, 10:56 and filleth the hungry soul with goodness. 11:00 Such as sit in darkness and in the 11:01 shadow of death, being bound in 11:04 affliction and iron; Because they rebelled 11:06 against the words of God, 11:07 and contemned the counsel of the most 11:09 High: Therefore he brought down their 11:11 heart with labor; they fell down, 11:14 and there was none to help. 11:16 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, 11:19 and he saved them out of their distresses. 11:22 He brought them out of darkness 11:24 and the shadow of death, and brake their 11:27 bands in sunder. Oh that men would 11:31 praise the Lord for his goodness, 11:33 and for his wonderful works to the children 11:35 of men! For he hath broken the gates 11:38 of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder. 11:42 Fools because of their transgression, 11:45 and because of their iniquities, 11:46 are afflicted. Their soul abhorreth 11:49 all manner of meat; and they draw near 11:51 unto the gates of death. Then they cry unto the 11:54 Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them 11:57 out of their distresses. He sent his word, 12:01 and healed them, and delivered them 12:03 from their destructions. Oh that men would 12:07 praise the Lord for his goodness, 12:08 and for his wonderful works to the 12:10 children of men! And let them sacrifice 12:12 the sacrifices of thanksgiving, 12:14 and declare his works with rejoicing. 12:17 They that go down to the sea in ships, 12:20 that do business in great waters; 12:22 These see the works of the Lord, 12:24 and his wonders in the deep. 12:26 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy 12:28 wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof. 12:32 They mount up to the heaven, 12:34 they go down again to the depths: 12:35 their soul is melted because of trouble. 12:38 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a 12:41 drunken man, and are at their wit's end. 12:44 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, 12:47 and he bringeth them out of their distresses. 12:50 He maketh the storm a calm, 12:53 so that the waves thereof are still. 12:56 Then are they glad because they be quiet; 12:59 so he bringeth them unto their desired heaven. 13:04 Oh that men would praise the Lord for 13:05 his goodness, and for his wonderful 13:09 works to the children of men! 13:10 Let them exalt him also in the 13:12 congregation of the people, 13:14 and praise him in the assembly of the elders. 13:17 He turneth rivers into a wilderness, 13:21 and the watersprings into dry ground; 13:24 A fruitful land into barrenness, 13:26 for the wickedness of them that dwell therein. 13:29 He turneth the wilderness into a 13:30 standing water, and dry ground into 13:33 water springs. And there he maketh 13:36 the hungry to dwell, that they may 13:38 prepare a city for habitation; 13:40 And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, 13:42 which may yield fruits of increase. 13:44 He blesseth them also, so that they are 13:46 multiplied greatly; and suffereth not 13:49 their cattle to decrease. Again, they are minished 13:52 and brought low through oppression, 13:54 affliction, and sorrow. He poureth contempt 13:57 upon princes, and causeth them to 13:58 wander in the wilderness, 14:00 where there is no way. Yet setteth he the poor 14:04 on high from affliction, and maketh him families 14:07 like a flock. The righteous shall see it, 14:11 and rejoice: and all iniquity 14:14 shall stop her mouth. Who so is wise, 14:19 and will observe these things, 14:22 even they shall understand the loving 14:24 kindness of the Lord. Psalm 108 O God, 14:31 my heart is fixed; I will sing and 14:34 give praise, even with my glory. |
