00:15 Hello, and welcome to His Words Are Life.
00:17 I'm Kelly Mowrer, and thank you for being with me again today 00:21 to read from the book of Proverbs. 00:22 Let's pray together before we start. 00:25 Dear Lord, Thank You for the wisdom that is contained in this 00:31 particular portion of the Bible that we're reading today. 00:35 May these words come into our hearts and give us a practical 00:42 way to serve you better and more wisely. 00:45 Send the Holy Spirit to teach us what you have for us 00:48 to learn here. 00:49 Thank You for loving us. 00:50 We love You so much. 00:51 Amen. 00:53 I'm reading from Proverbs 8 and starting with verse 11, 00:58 and this is the King James version. 01:00 For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that 01:05 may be desired are not to be compared to it. 01:09 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge 01:15 of witty inventions. 01:17 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, 01:22 and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. 01:27 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; 01:31 I have strength. 01:33 By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. 01:38 By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges 01:43 of the earth. 01:44 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early 01:49 shall find me. 01:51 Riches and honor are with me; yea, durable riches 01:55 and righteousness. 01:57 My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; 02:01 and my revenue than choice silver. 02:04 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst 02:08 of the paths of judgment: that I may cause those that love me 02:13 to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures. 02:17 The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, 02:22 before his works of old. 02:24 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, 02:28 or ever the earth was. 02:30 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; 02:33 when there were no fountains abounding with water. 02:36 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills 02:40 was I brought forth: while as yet he had not made the earth, 02:43 nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. 02:47 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a 02:51 compass upon the face of the depth: when he established 02:55 the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains 02:59 of the deep: when he gave to the sea his decree, 03:02 that the waters should not pass his commandment: 03:05 when he appointed the foundations of the earth: 03:09 then I was by him, as one brought up with him: 03:13 and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; 03:17 rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; 03:21 and my delights were with the sons of men. 03:24 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: 03:27 for blessed are they that keep my ways. 03:32 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. 03:38 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, 03:43 waiting at the posts of my doors. 03:46 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain 03:52 favor of the Lord. 03:53 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: 03:58 all they that hate me love death. 04:02 Reading in Proverbs chapter 9; this is the King James Version. 04:07 Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out 04:11 her seven pillars: she hath killed her beasts; 04:15 she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table. 04:19 She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest 04:24 places of the city, whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: 04:28 as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, 04:31 Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine 04:34 which I have mingled. 04:36 Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way 04:40 of understanding. 04:41 He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: 04:47 and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot. 04:53 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: 04:57 rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. 05:01 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: 05:06 teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. 05:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: 05:14 and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. 05:18 For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years 05:23 of thy life shall be increased. 05:25 If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: 05:28 but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it. 05:32 A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, 05:36 and knoweth nothing. 05:38 For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the 05:42 high places of the city, to call passengers who go 05:45 right on their ways: whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: 05:49 and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, 05:52 Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten 05:57 in secret is pleasant. 05:58 But he knoweth not that the dead are there; 06:02 and that her guests are in the depths of hell. 06:06 Proverbs chapter 10; this is the King James Version. 06:10 The Proverbs of Solomon. 06:13 A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is 06:18 the heaviness of his mother. 06:19 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness 06:26 delivereth from death. 06:27 The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: 06:33 but he casteth away the substance of the wicked. 06:36 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: 06:40 but the hand of the diligent maketh rich. 06:44 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth 06:49 in harvest is a son that causeth shame. 06:53 Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth 06:59 the mouth of the wicked. 07:00 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name 07:04 of the wicked shall rot. 07:05 The wise in heart will receive commandments: 07:09 but a prating fool shall fall. 07:13 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: 07:17 but he that perverteth his ways shall be known. 07:21 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: 07:25 but a prating fool shall fall. 07:28 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: 07:31 but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. 07:34 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins. 07:40 In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: 07:45 but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding. 07:50 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish 07:54 is near destruction. 07:56 The rich man's wealth is his strong city: 07:59 the destruction of the poor is their poverty. 08:03 The labor of the righteous tendeth to life: 08:07 the fruit of the wicked to sin. 08:10 He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: 08:14 but he that refuseth reproof erreth. 08:18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth 08:23 a slander, is a fool. 08:26 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: 08:30 but he that refraineth his lips is wise. 08:34 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: 08:37 the heart of the wicked is little worth. 08:41 The lips of the righteous feed many: 08:45 but fools die for want of wisdom. 08:48 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, 08:53 and he addeth no sorrow with it. 08:56 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: 08:59 but a man of understanding hath wisdom. 09:03 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: 09:06 but the desire of the righteous shall be granted. 09:10 As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: 09:13 but the righteous is an everlasting foundation. 09:17 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, 09:21 so is the sluggard to them that send him. 09:24 The fear of the Lord prolonged days: but the years of the 09:28 wicked shall be shortened. 09:30 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: 09:33 but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. 09:37 The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: 09:41 but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. 09:44 The righteous shall never be removed: 09:48 but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth. 09:51 The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: 09:54 but the froward tongue shall be cut out. 09:58 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: 10:01 but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. 10:05 Proverbs 11; this is the King James Version. 10:09 A false balance is abomination to the Lord: 10:13 but a just weight is his delight. 10:16 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: 10:19 but with the lowly is wisdom. 10:22 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: 10:25 but the perverseness of transgressors 10:28 shall destroy them. 10:29 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness 10:34 delivereth from death. 10:36 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: 10:40 but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness. 10:43 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: 10:46 but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness. 10:50 When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: 10:53 and the hope of unjust men perisheth. 10:57 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, 11:00 and the wicked cometh in his stead. 11:02 An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbor: 11:06 but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. 11:09 When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: 11:13 and when the wicked perish, there is shouting. 11:15 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: 11:18 but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked. 11:22 He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbor: 11:26 but a man of understanding holdeth his peace. 11:30 A talebearer revealeth secrets; but he that is of a faithful 11:36 spirit concealeth the matter. 11:39 Where no counsel is, the people fall: 11:43 but in the multitude of counselors there is safety. 11:48 He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: 11:53 and he that hateth suretyship is sure. 11:57 A gracious woman retaineth honor: 12:00 and strong men retain riches. 12:02 The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: 12:05 but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh. 12:08 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: 12:11 but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a 12:14 sure reward. 12:15 As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil 12:20 pursueth it to his own death. 12:22 They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the Lord: 12:27 but such as are upright in their way are his delight. 12:31 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: 12:37 but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered. 12:40 As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman 12:46 which is without discretion. 12:49 the desire of the righteous is only good: 12:52 but the expectation of the wicked is wrath. 12:56 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; 13:00 and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, 13:04 but it tendeth to poverty. 13:06 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth 13:11 shall be watered also himself. 13:14 He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: 13:18 but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it. 13:21 He that diligently seeketh good procureth favor: 13:26 but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him. 13:31 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous 13:36 shall flourish as a branch. 13:37 He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: 13:41 and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart. 13:44 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; 13:47 and he that winneth souls is wise. 13:51 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: 13:54 much more the wicked and the sinner. 13:56 Proverbs 12. 13:58 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: 14:02 but he that hateth reproof is brutish. 14:05 A good man obtaineth favor of the Lord: 14:09 but a man of wicked devices will he condemn. 14:12 A man shall not be established by wickedness: 14:15 but the root of the righteous shall not be moved. 14:18 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: 14:22 but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones. 14:27 The thoughts of the righteous are right: 14:29 but the counsels of the wicked are deceit. 14:32 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: 14:35 but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them. |
