00:16 Hello and welcome to "His Words are Life."
00:19 I'm Kelly Mowrer and thank you for joining with me today 00:21 to read the word of God together. 00:23 Let's pray before we start. 00:26 Dear heavenly Father, thank you so much 00:28 that we can come into Your presence and hear Your words, 00:32 that You have preserve for us right down to this time. 00:36 Please show us what You have for us here 00:40 and teach us to walk more closely with You. 00:42 We love Your and thank you for loving us, amen. 00:46 We're reading in the Book of Ezekiel. 00:48 This is Chapter 8 in the King James Version. 00:53 "And it came to pass in the sixth year, 00:55 in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, 00:58 as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, 01:02 that the hand of the Lord God fell there upon me. 01:06 Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire, 01:11 from the appearance of his loins even downward, fire, 01:14 and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, 01:18 as the color of amber. 01:19 And he put forth the form of an hand, 01:21 and took me by a lock of mine head, 01:24 and the spirit lifted me up 01:26 between the earth and the heaven, 01:27 and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, 01:31 to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north, 01:34 where was the seat of the image of jealousy, 01:37 which provoketh to jealousy. 01:39 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, 01:43 according to the vision that I saw in the plain. 01:46 Then said he unto me, Son of man, 01:48 lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. 01:53 So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, 01:56 and behold northward at the gate of the altar 01:59 this image of jealousy in the entry. 02:02 He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, 02:05 seest thou what they do? 02:07 Even the great abominations 02:09 that the house of Israel committeth here, 02:12 that I should go far off from my sanctuary? 02:16 But turn thee yet again, 02:17 and thou shalt see greater abominations. 02:20 And he brought me to the door of the court, 02:22 and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall. 02:27 Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall, 02:31 and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door. 02:35 And he said unto me, Go in, and behold 02:38 the wicked abominations that they do here. 02:42 So I went in and saw, and behold every form 02:46 of creeping things, and abominable beasts, 02:50 and all the idols of the house of Israel, 02:53 portrayed upon the wall round about. 02:56 And there stood before them 02:57 seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, 03:01 and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, 03:06 with every man his censer in his hand, 03:09 and a thick cloud of incense went up. 03:12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen 03:16 what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, 03:20 every man in the chambers of his imagery? 03:23 For they say, the Lord seeth us not, 03:27 the Lord hath forsaken the earth. 03:31 He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, 03:34 and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do. 03:38 Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the Lord's house 03:41 which was toward the north, and, behold, 03:45 there sat women weeping for Tammuz. 03:50 Then said he unto me, hast thou seen this, O son of man? 03:54 Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see 03:56 greater abominations than these. 03:59 And he brought me into the inner court 04:01 of the Lord's house, and, behold, 04:03 at the door of the temple of the Lord, 04:05 between the porch and the altar, 04:07 were about five and twenty men, 04:09 with their backs toward the temple of the Lord, 04:12 and their faces toward the east, 04:13 and they worshipped the sun toward the east. 04:17 Then he said unto me, hast thou seen this, O son of man? 04:21 Is it a light thing to the house of Judah 04:24 that they commit the abominations 04:25 which they commit here? 04:27 For they have filled the land with violence, 04:30 and have returned to provoke me to anger, 04:34 and, lo, they put the branch to their nose. 04:38 Therefore will I also deal in fury, 04:42 mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, 04:46 and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, 04:50 yet will I not hear them. 04:53 "Continuing to read in Ezekiel Chapter 9 04:55 and this is the King James Version. 04:58 "He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, 05:01 Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, 05:05 even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand. 05:09 And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, 05:14 which lieth toward the north, 05:15 and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand, 05:17 and one man among them was clothed with linen, 05:21 with a writer's inkhorn by his side, 05:23 and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar. 05:27 And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up 05:29 from the cherub, whereupon he was, 05:32 to the threshold of the house. 05:34 And he called to the man clothed with linen, 05:37 which had the writer's inkhorn by his side. 05:39 And the Lord said unto him, 05:40 go through the midst of the city, 05:42 through the midst of Jerusalem, 05:43 and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men 05:46 that sigh and that cry for all the abominations 05:50 that be done in the midst thereof. 05:53 And to the others he said in mine hearing, 05:55 Go ye after him through the city, and smite, 05:59 let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity. 06:03 Slay utterly old and young, both maids, 06:06 and little children, and women, 06:08 but come not near any man 06:11 upon whom is the mark, and begin at my sanctuary. 06:16 Then they began at the ancient men 06:18 which were before the house. 06:20 And he said unto them, defile the house, 06:23 and fill the courts with the slain, go ye forth. 06:27 And they went forth, and slew in the city. 06:30 And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, 06:33 and I was left, that I fell upon my face, 06:35 and cried, and said, Ah Lord God, 06:38 wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel 06:40 in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem? 06:44 Then said he unto me, 06:46 The iniquity of the house of Israel 06:48 and Judah is exceeding great, 06:50 and the land is full of blood, 06:52 and the city full of perverseness, 06:53 for they say, the Lord hath 06:55 forsaken the earth, and the Lord seeth not. 07:00 And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, 07:03 neither will I have pity, but I will recompense 07:06 their way upon their head. 07:08 And, behold, the man clothed with linen, 07:11 which had the inkhorn by his side, 07:14 reported the matter, saying, 07:16 I have done as thou hast commanded me. 07:20 Continuing to read in Ezekiel Chapter 10 07:23 and this is the King James Version. 07:27 "Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament 07:30 that was above the head of the cherubims 07:32 there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, 07:36 as the appearance of the likeness of a throne. 07:39 And he spake unto the man clothed with linen, 07:42 and said, Go in between the wheels, 07:45 even under the cherub, and fill thine hand 07:48 with coals of fire from between the cherubims, 07:51 and scatter them over the city. 07:54 And he went in, in my sight. 07:57 Now the cherubims stood on the right side of the house, 08:01 when the man went in, and the cloud filled the inner court. 08:04 Then the glory of the Lord went up from the cherub, 08:07 and stood over the threshold of the house, 08:09 and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was 08:12 full of the brightness of the Lord's glory. 08:15 And the sound of the cherubims' wings 08:17 was heard even to the outer court, 08:20 as the voice of the Almighty God, when he speaketh. 08:24 And it came to pass, that when he had commanded 08:27 the man clothed with linen, saying, 08:29 Take fire from between the wheels, 08:31 from between the cherubims, then he went in, 08:34 and stood beside the wheels. 08:36 And one cherub stretched forth his hand 08:38 from between the cherubims 08:40 unto the fire that was between the cherubims, 08:42 and took thereof, and put it into the hands of him 08:45 that was clothed with linen, who took it, and went out. 08:50 And there appeared in the cherubims 08:52 the form of a man's hand under their wings. 08:55 And when I looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubims, 08:59 one wheel by one cherub, 09:01 and another wheel by another cherub, 09:04 and the appearance of the wheels 09:06 was as the color of a beryl stone. 09:10 And as for their appearances, they four had one likeness, 09:14 as if a wheel had been in the midst of a wheel. 09:18 When they went, they went upon their four sides, 09:21 they turned not as they went, 09:23 but to the place whither the head looked they followed it, 09:26 they turned not as they went. 09:28 And their whole body, and their backs, 09:30 and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, 09:33 were full of eyes round about, 09:36 even the wheels that they four had. 09:40 As for the wheels, it was cried unto them 09:43 in my hearing, O wheel. 09:46 And every one had four faces, 09:48 the first face was the face of a cherub, 09:51 and the second face was the face of a man, 09:54 and the third the face of a lion, 09:56 and the fourth the face of an eagle. 09:59 And the cherubims were lifted up. 10:01 This is the living creature that I saw by the river of Chebar. 10:06 And when the cherubims went, the wheels went by them, 10:10 and when the cherubims lifted up 10:11 their wings to mount up from the earth, 10:14 the same wheels also turned not from beside them. 10:18 When they stood, these stood, and when they were lifted up, 10:21 these lifted up themselves also, 10:24 for the spirit of the living creature was in them. 10:28 Then the glory of the Lord departed 10:30 from off the threshold of the house, 10:32 and stood over the cherubims. 10:35 And the cherubims lifted up their wings, 10:36 and mounted up from the earth in my sight, 10:40 when they went out, the wheels also were beside them, 10:43 and every one stood at the door 10:45 of the east gate of the Lord's house, 10:48 and the glory of the God of Israel 10:50 was over them above. 10:52 This is the living creature that I saw 10:55 under the God of Israel by the river of Chebar, 10:57 and I knew that they were the cherubims. 11:00 Everyone had four faces apiece, and every one four wings, 11:06 and the likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings. 11:08 And the likeness of their faces was the same faces 11:11 which I saw by the river of Chebar, 11:13 their appearances and themselves, 11:16 they went every one straight forward." 11:19 Continuing now to read in Ezekiel Chapter 11 11:22 and this is the King James Version. 11:26 "Moreover the spirit lifted me up, 11:28 and brought me unto the east gate of the Lord's house, 11:31 which looketh eastward, and behold 11:34 at the door of the gate five and twenty men, 11:38 among whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azur, 11:42 and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people. 11:46 Then said he unto me, Son of man, 11:49 these are the men that devise mischief, 11:52 and give wicked counsel in this city. 11:55 Which say, it is not near, let us build houses, 11:59 this city is the caldron, and we be the flesh. 12:02 Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man. 12:08 And the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me, 12:10 and said unto me, Speak, Thus saith the Lord, 12:14 Thus have ye said, O house of Israel, 12:16 for I know the things that come into your mind, 12:19 every one of them. 12:20 Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, 12:23 ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain. 12:26 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, 12:29 Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, 12:33 they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron, 12:36 but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it. 12:39 Ye have feared the sword, 12:42 and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord God. 12:46 And I will bring you out of the midst thereof, 12:47 and deliver you into the hands of strangers, 12:50 and will execute judgments among you. 12:53 Ye shall fall by the sword, 12:55 I will judge you in the border of Israel, 12:57 and ye shall know that I am the Lord. 13:02 This city shall not be your caldron, 13:06 neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst thereof, 13:09 but I will judge you in the border of Israel. 13:12 And ye shall know that I am the Lord, 13:14 for ye have not walked in my statutes, 13:16 neither executed my judgments, 13:18 but have done after the manners 13:19 of the heathen that are round about you. 13:23 And it came to pass, when I prophesied, 13:26 that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. 13:29 Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, 13:33 and said, ah Lord God, wilt thou make 13:35 a full end of the remnant of Israel? 13:39 Again the word of the Lord came unto me, 13:41 saying, Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, 13:45 the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel wholly, 13:48 are they unto whom the inhabitants 13:50 of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from the Lord, 13:53 unto us is this land given in possession. 13:57 Therefore say, thus saith the Lord God, 14:00 although I have cast them far off among the heathen, 14:04 and although I have scattered them among the countries, 14:07 yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary 14:10 in the countries where they shall come. 14:13 Therefore say, thus saith the Lord God, 14:16 I will even gather you from the people, 14:18 and assemble you out of the countries 14:20 where ye have been scattered, 14:22 and I will give you the land of Israel. 14:24 And they shall come thither, and they shall take away 14:26 all the detestable things thereof 14:29 and all the abominations thereof from thence. 14:32 And I will give them one heart, 14:34 and I will put a new spirit within you. 14:37 Please join me again next time, goodbye. |
