00:15 Hello, and welcome to "His words are life."
00:17 I'm Kelly Mowrer and today 00:19 we'll be reading in the book of Daniel together. 00:21 But first let's pray. 00:23 Dear heavenly Father, 00:24 thank you for an opportunity to hear your words. 00:28 Please send your holy spirit to help us 00:30 to hear the message in them that 00:33 you would reach for us to allow you 00:35 to put into practice in our lives. 00:37 We love you so much and thank you 00:38 for loving us. Amen. 00:42 Picking up in Daniel, chapter 11 with verse 16 00:46 and this is the King James Version. 00:50 But he that cometh against him 00:51 shall do according to his own will, 00:53 and none shall stand before him., 00:56 and he shall stand in the glorious land, 00:58 which by his hand shall be consumed. 01:01 He shall also set his face 01:03 to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, 01:06 and upright ones with him, thus shall he do, 01:09 and he shall give him the daughter of women, 01:12 corrupting her, but she shall not 01:14 stand on his side, neither be for him. 01:17 After this shall he turn his face unto the isles, 01:20 and shall take many, but a prince for his own behalf 01:23 shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease, 01:27 without his own reproach 01:28 he shall cause it to turn upon him. 01:30 Then he shall turn his face 01:32 toward the fort of his own land, 01:34 but he shall stumble and fall, and not be found. 01:38 Then shall stand up in his estate 01:41 a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom, 01:45 but within few days he shall be destroyed, 01:48 neither in anger, nor in battle. 01:51 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, 01:54 to whom they shall not give the honor of the kingdom, 01:58 but he shall come in peaceably, 02:00 and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. 02:03 And with the arms of a flood 02:05 shall they be overflown from before him, 02:09 and shall be broken, yea, 02:11 also the prince of the covenant. 02:13 And after the league made with him 02:15 he shall work deceitfully, for he shall come up, 02:18 and shall become strong with a small people. 02:22 He shall enter peaceably even upon 02:25 the fattest places of the province, 02:27 and he shall do that which 02:28 his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers, 02:32 he shall scatter among them the prey, 02:34 and spoil, and riches, yea, 02:37 and he shall forecast his devices 02:40 against the strongholds, even for a time. 02:43 And he shall stir up his power 02:45 and his courage against the king of the south 02:48 with a great army, and the king of the south 02:50 shall be stirred up to battle with 02:52 a very great and mighty army, but he shall not stand, 02:58 for they shall forecast devices against him. 03:02 Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat 03:06 shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow, 03:09 and many shall fall down slain. 03:13 And both these kings' hearts shall be to do mischief, 03:17 and they shall speak lies at one table, 03:19 but it shall not prosper for yet 03:22 the end shall be at the time appointed. 03:26 Then shall he return into his land with great riches, 03:30 and his heart shall be against the holy covenant, 03:33 and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land. 03:37 At the time appointed he shall return, 03:39 and come toward the south, 03:40 but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter. 03:43 For the ships of Chittim shall come against him, 03:46 therefore he shall be grieved, and return, 03:48 and have indignation against the holy covenant, 03:51 so shall he do, he shall even return, 03:54 and have intelligence with them that 03:56 forsake the holy covenant. 03:58 And arms shall stand on his part, 04:01 and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, 04:04 and shall take away the daily sacrifice, 04:06 and they shall place the abomination 04:08 that maketh desolate. 04:10 And such as do wickedly against the covenant 04:14 shall be corrupt by flatteries, 04:16 but the people that do know their God shall be strong, 04:20 and do exploits. 04:22 And they that understand among the people 04:25 shall instruct many, yet they shall fall 04:27 by the sword, and by flame, 04:29 by captivity, and by spoil, many days. 04:34 Now when they shall fall, 04:35 they shall be helped with a little help, 04:37 but many shall cleave to them with flatteries. 04:42 And some of them of understanding shall fall, 04:45 to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, 04:48 even to the time of the end, 04:51 because it is yet for a time appointed. 04:54 And the king shall do according to his will, 04:57 and he shall exalt himself, 04:59 and magnify himself above every god, 05:02 and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods 05:05 and shall prosper till the indignation 05:07 be accomplished, for that that is determined shall be done. 05:12 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, 05:15 nor the desire of women, nor regard any god, 05:17 for he shall magnify himself above all. 05:22 But in his estate shall he honor the God of forces, 05:26 and a god whom his fathers knew 05:28 not shall he honor with gold, and silver, 05:31 and with precious stones, and pleasant things. 05:34 Thus shall he do in the most strongholds 05:37 with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge 05:41 and increase with glory, and he shall cause them 05:43 to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain. 05:48 And at the time of the end 05:50 shall the king of the south push at him, 05:52 and the king of the north shall come against him 05:53 like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, 05:56 and with many ships, and he shall enter 05:58 into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over. 06:03 He shall enter also into the glorious land, 06:05 and many countries shall be overthrown, 06:08 but these shall escape out of his hand, 06:10 even Edom, and Moab, 06:13 and the chief of the children of Ammon. 06:15 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries, 06:17 and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 06:21 But he shall have power over 06:22 the treasures of gold and of silver, 06:24 and over all the precious things of Egypt, 06:27 and the Libyans and the Ethiopians 06:29 shall be at his steps. 06:31 But tidings out of the east 06:34 and out of the north shall trouble him, 06:37 therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, 06:41 and utterly to make away many. 06:44 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace 06:47 between the seas in the glorious holy mountain, 06:51 yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him. 06:57 Continuing now in Daniel, chapter 12 07:00 and this is the King James Version. 07:03 And at that time shall Michael stand up, 07:07 the great prince which standeth for the children 07:09 of thy people, and there shall be a time of trouble, 07:12 such as never was since there was a nation 07:16 even to that same time, and at that time thy people 07:20 shall be delivered, every one that 07:22 shall be found written in the book. 07:24 And many of them that sleep 07:25 in the dust of the earth shall awake, 07:28 some to everlasting life, and some to shame 07:32 and everlasting contempt. 07:34 And they that be wise shall shine 07:38 as the brightness of the firmament, 07:40 and they that turn many to righteousness 07:42 as the stars for ever and ever. 07:46 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, 07:49 even to the time of the end, many shall run to and fro, 07:54 and knowledge shall be increased. 07:57 Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, 08:00 there stood other two, the one on 08:02 this side of the bank of the river, and the other on 08:04 that side of the bank of the river. 08:06 And one said to the man clothed in linen, 08:09 which was upon the waters of the river, 08:12 How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? 08:15 And I heard the man clothed in linen, 08:18 which was upon the waters of the river, 08:20 when he held up his right hand 08:22 and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that 08:25 liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, 08:29 times, and in half, and when he shall have accomplished 08:33 to scatter the power of the holy people, 08:37 all these things shall be finished. 08:41 And I heard, but I understood not, then said I, 08:47 O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? 08:50 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel, 08:54 for the words are closed up and sealed 08:56 till the time of the end. 08:59 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried, 09:03 but the wicked shall do wickedly, 09:04 and none of the wicked shall understand, 09:07 but the wise shall understand. 09:10 And from the time that the daily sacrifice 09:12 shall be taken away, and the abomination that 09:15 maketh desolate set up, 09:18 there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. 09:23 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh 09:27 to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. 09:32 But go thou thy way till the end be, 09:35 for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot 09:40 at the end of the days. 09:44 Continuing now in the Book of Hosea, Chapter 1. 09:47 This is the King James Version. 09:51 The word of the LORD that came unto Hosea, 09:53 the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, 09:57 Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, 10:01 and in the days of Jeroboam 10:03 the son of Joash, king of Israel. 10:06 The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. 10:10 And the LORD said to Hosea, 10:11 Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms 10:15 and children of whoredoms, for the land hath 10:18 committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD. 10:22 So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim, 10:27 which conceived, and bare him a son. 10:31 And the LORD said unto him, 10:33 Call his name Jezreel, for yet a little while, 10:36 and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel 10:39 upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease 10:42 the kingdom of the house of Israel. 10:44 And it shall come to pass at that day, 10:46 that I will break the bow of Israel, 10:49 in the valley of Jezreel. 10:52 And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. 10:55 And God said unto him, Call her name Loruhamah, 11:00 for I will no more have mercy upon 11:02 the house of Israel, but I will utterly take them away. 11:07 But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, 11:09 and will save them by the LORD their God, 11:12 and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, 11:14 nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen. 11:18 Now when she had weaned Loruhamah, 11:21 she conceived, and bare a son. 11:25 Then said God, Call his name Loammi, 11:29 for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God. 11:34 Yet the number of the children of Israel 11:36 shall be as the sand of the sea, 11:38 which cannot be measured nor numbered, 11:40 and it shall come to pass, that in the place 11:42 where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, 11:46 there it shall be said unto them, 11:48 Ye are the sons of the living God. 11:52 Then shall the children of Judah 11:53 and the children of Israel be gathered together, 11:56 and appoint themselves one head, 11:58 and they shall come up out of the land, 12:01 for great shall be the day of Jezreel. 12:04 Continuing in the Book of Hosea, Chapter 2. 12:06 And this is the King James Version. 12:10 Say ye unto your brethren, Ammi, 12:12 and to your sisters, Ruhamah. 12:15 Plead with your mother, plead, 12:17 for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband, 12:21 let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, 12:24 and her adulteries from between her breasts, 12:27 Lest I strip her naked, 12:28 and set her as in the day that she was born, 12:30 and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, 12:34 and slay her with thirst. 12:36 And I will not have mercy upon her children, 12:38 for they be the children of whoredoms. 12:41 For their mother hath played the harlot, 12:44 she that conceived them hath done shamefully, 12:47 for she said, I will go after my lovers, 12:49 that give me my bread and my water, 12:52 my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink. 12:55 Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thy way with thorns, 12:59 and make a wall, that she shall not find her paths. 13:03 And she shall follow after her lovers, 13:05 but she shall not overtake them, 13:06 and she shall seek them, but shall not find them, 13:10 then shall she say, I will go 13:13 and return to my first husband, 13:14 for then was it better with me than now. 13:18 For she did not know that I gave her corn, 13:20 and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver 13:23 and gold, which they prepared for Baal. 13:27 Therefore will I return, and take away 13:29 my corn in the time thereof, and my wine 13:31 in the season thereof, and will recover my wool 13:34 and my flax given to cover her nakedness. 13:37 And now will I discover her lewdness 13:40 in the sight of her lovers, and none 13:41 shall deliver her out of mine hand. 13:44 I will also cause all her mirth to cease, 13:47 her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, 13:50 and all her solemn feasts. 13:53 And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, 13:56 whereof she hath said, 13:57 These are my rewards that my lovers have given me, 14:00 and I will make them a forest, 14:02 and the beasts of the field shall eat them. 14:05 And I will visit upon her the days of Baalim, 14:08 wherein she burned incense to them, 14:10 and she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, 14:12 and she went after her lovers, and forgat me, 14:15 saith the LORD. 14:17 Therefore, behold, I will allure her, 14:19 and bring her into the wilderness, 14:21 and speak comfortably unto her. 14:23 And I will give her her vineyards from thence, 14:25 and the valley of Achor for a door of hope, 14:28 and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, 14:31 and as in the day when she came up 14:33 out of the land of Egypt. 14:36 Please join me again next time 14:37 to read the word of God together. Good bye. |
