00:21 Hello, and welcome to Jesus for Asia Now.
00:24 I'm Natalie Wood, 00:25 and I have my special guest Gayle Haberkam with me 00:27 again this time. 00:28 Some of you may have seen that 00:30 we did a previous episode with her, 00:32 and if you haven't seen it yet, 00:34 please go to our website Jesus4asia.org 00:36 and you can find it on there. 00:38 If you don't find it, please contact us. 00:41 Anyway I just... We have a lot of stories. 00:44 Last time we talked a lot about the people 00:46 and how they live, 00:47 but this time we have a lot more stories. 00:49 And before we get into the stories 00:51 I want to share one of Gayle's favorite verses with you. 00:54 And that's in Psalms 126:5-6, 00:58 "They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 01:02 He that goeth forth and weepeth, 01:04 bearing precious seed, 01:06 shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, 01:09 bringing his sheaves with him." 01:12 And, Gayle, I know that you are excited 01:14 to bring the sheaves to Jesus. 01:15 Yes. 01:17 You were out there doing whatever 01:18 it takes to save these people and you just love them. 01:24 Yeah, the Lord has just helped me fall in love 01:26 with the Karen people 01:28 and dedicate my life to help them. 01:30 Now for those who didn't watch last time, 01:33 you're working in the mountains in Thailand 01:36 with the Karen people. 01:38 Yes, it's deep in the jungle, it takes... 01:40 If we can't take the short cut, 01:42 it would take us four and half hours on the bad roads 01:44 to get there. 01:46 Okay, so four and half hours on the bad roads. 01:48 I know in the previous episode, 01:50 we showed some pictures and video about the roads. 01:52 So again if our viewers didn't see that, 01:55 you might want to go and check those out. 01:57 But we want to start out 01:58 with some stories of some of the people. 02:01 And this person, this picture, this person does not look like 02:04 they want to be seen. 02:05 Yes, this story is amazing. 02:08 His name is Malawe, 02:10 and Malawe lives right in the village of BeYoTa. 02:13 He lives in an old, old, house falling apart 02:16 because he's addicted to opium. 02:18 And we had never seen him much before, 02:21 he stayed away from us 02:23 and all our religious activities. 02:25 But one day he come to us and shocked us 02:29 because he said, "I want to get off opium, 02:31 will you let me live with you and help me." 02:35 And so of course we would so. 02:37 We wanted to make sure he really meant it 02:39 and would put forth every effort, 02:41 so we asked him 02:43 if he's really gonna want to do this, 02:45 will he obey us and let us help him. 02:49 And he said he would, 02:51 then because he will do that we would do all in our power 02:54 whatever it takes to help him get over this habit. 02:58 And so we told him, you need to get off the opium, 03:01 smoking, alcohol, and coffee. 03:04 Because they're all addictive. 03:06 Yes, they all just ate each other 03:08 in strengthening the bad habits, 03:10 so he was willing to do that. 03:12 So we started, we took him out of BeYoTa 03:14 because it's easy for the people 03:15 to get the opium 03:17 if they can get their hands on any money. 03:18 And so away from that influence, 03:21 but he only lasted about a day and a half, 03:23 not even two days when he wanted to go back. 03:26 He'd gotten through the bad effects, 03:28 right away you get terrible pain 03:29 in your arms and legs, 03:31 and blood pressure goes up or down. 03:33 But we had helped him and prayed for him 03:37 all through that time 03:38 and then suddenly he wants to go back, 03:40 and if we don't take him, he'll get on to some tower. 03:43 He knows where to go, he'll climb that mountain, 03:45 he's got to go back. 03:46 So my heart felt 03:48 because I thought he just wants to get another dose of opium 03:52 and because I know it's far 03:53 from being out of his system so far 03:55 so, but we had to take him 03:57 because I wasn't just going to let him. 03:59 He probably really doesn't know how to get back. 04:01 So we went back 04:03 and when he got back to the village, 04:05 it was like he just came alive, 04:07 he had never really known his children before 04:10 and he just wanted to see his little girl. 04:13 And now suddenly he notices his family 04:17 and it's so wonderful to see him just playing 04:19 and interacting with this little girl here 04:22 and his little boy, and he did stay with us. 04:26 And as far as I know, 04:28 he hasn't gone back on opium since. 04:31 Praise the Lord. 04:32 And so it's just quite thrilling, 04:34 this is a picture of his family, 04:36 he just come back to me and he says, "I try to pray. 04:38 I can say a few words." 04:40 And I say, "Well, that's what's helping you 04:41 stay strong." 04:43 And he says, "I can work harder than I ever worked before. 04:46 I'm working harder than all the other villagers." 04:48 He was working on the road with them 04:51 so he's just this brand new person. 04:54 That's really neat. 04:55 And here he is, his face is radiant. 04:57 When really at first he wouldn't even look at me, 04:59 he would cover his face and shrink away. 05:01 But now he's bathed, 05:03 BletJhaw has given him a haircut 05:05 and he is radiant. 05:07 Yeah, that's wonderful. It's so rewarding. 05:09 Yes, and you got to introduce him to Jesus. 05:12 Exactly, he said, "It's your prayers. 05:14 It's your prayers." 05:16 And then he's... 05:17 Even now I've talked with some people there 05:19 and he's wanting us 05:20 as soon as we get back to go to his house 05:22 and have worship and pray with them. 05:24 Wonderful. Wonderful. 05:26 And it just leads me to this quote 05:29 because just when you see the light breaking through 05:33 and people changing, there is nothing like that joy. 05:36 You would travel any road, 05:38 you would get stuck on any mountainside, 05:39 and you would have the leeches and face the wild elephants, 05:42 you would do it a hundred times over 05:44 because when you see that 05:47 they're turning their hearts to God, 05:49 everybody needs to do that and experience it. 05:52 Christian Service, 269, 05:55 "The Christian knows no drudgery 05:56 in his heaven-appointed work. 05:58 He enters into the joy of His Lord 06:00 in seeing souls emancipated from the slavery of sin, 06:03 and this joy repays him for every self-denial." 06:07 So you can testify to that. Yes. 06:09 Very strongly. Yes, time and time again. 06:11 Okay, so this picture is of that village? 06:14 Yes. 06:15 The village name is Nedlikwee, 06:17 it means a goat village or the goat pond. 06:19 And this village is very, very dirty. 06:22 The people don't know God 06:24 and they really, really have poor health habits 06:29 and as many sicknesses. 06:31 So we went with our medicine, we had five objectives. 06:34 One was to help them clean their village up. 06:38 Teach them about health. 06:40 We wanted to give them gifts of cleaning supplies 06:43 that they would need to keep their families 06:45 and their house clean. 06:47 And cook one good meal a day in the evening for them 06:51 and, of course, last but not least 06:52 teach them about God. 06:54 First, this picture. Okay. 06:56 Yes, so we moved into an available house, 07:00 somebody had died 07:01 and it was a large house perfect for us. 07:03 And so we cleaned that up and this is our outhouse, 07:06 we had no privacy. 07:09 Those walls are... 07:11 That's all wrong. 07:12 Yeah, it's like there's a hint that there's walls there. 07:15 It's very old. 07:17 So we moved down 07:18 and we right away bonded with the children 07:21 because we just love the children. 07:25 And so we spent some time with them 07:27 by just singing and with them and then we went about. 07:32 This is a young man that came with us, 07:34 he is BletJhaw's brother-in-law 07:35 and he's a good cook, a fantastic cook. 07:38 So he kind of took care of the cooking, 07:39 which was nice and we helped him in any way we could 07:42 and we brought in all the food. 07:43 Okay. 07:44 That's all the vegetables 07:45 and this is the rest of the food. 07:47 Yes, because we are going to stay there a week, 07:49 so I had to feed them six good meals 07:51 and so we had that planned out and here we start. 07:55 Cleaning? Yes. 07:56 So we helped and joined in with the cleaning. 07:59 We would sweep under the houses. 08:01 There's so much dung from all the animals, 08:04 the pigs, and cows, and chickens and each house, 08:07 we helped them clean under their house, 08:09 everything out from under the house. 08:11 And that took us a couple of days 08:15 to do a good job with that, 08:17 and the people all worked and helped us 08:19 and even some of the men started clearing off the bank 08:22 that was going down the length of the village on the left side 08:25 and it started looking good. 08:27 And the old men were getting a stick 08:29 and moving the leaves out of the ditch 08:31 and burning them 08:33 and the village started looking much nicer. 08:36 So they had pride in their village then. 08:38 Just started taking pride in it. 08:40 And then came the night 08:42 we were going to give the gifts and the people were so excited. 08:45 All 13 households were there 08:49 and after we had the evening meal, 08:51 we presented everybody with the basin, the washbasin, 08:55 laundry soap, bar soap, shampoo, toothbrush, 08:58 toothpaste, dipper, 09:01 and this kind of thing and they were so happy. 09:05 They now had the things to clean. 09:07 We had worship with them every night 09:10 and then teach them who is God, 09:12 and why do we worship God, 09:14 and about angels to simple things 09:16 and they were interested. 09:19 Wonderful. 09:20 And then you started 09:21 seeing their laundry out on the line? 09:22 Yes, as soon we gave the gifts 09:24 we would see they had cleaned their clothes 09:26 with the soap not just water 09:28 or just throwing them over the line. 09:31 And we could see the children also, 09:35 the parents who had give them bath 09:38 and they would come to worship after the meal, all clean 09:42 and where they put the clay on their faces and very sweet. 09:47 The people really did cover. 09:49 And so they needed to do this firebreak 09:50 and they kept asking us, "Will you go and help us? 09:53 Will you come with us?" 09:54 So we decided it's a good idea to go 09:57 because we can form a bond of friendship 09:59 with these people so we went. 10:01 And the men were worried about me 10:03 because I am older and usually the women at my age 10:07 do not participate in any of that 10:08 because, you know, 10:09 they don't take care of their health like I do. 10:11 So they don't understand that I can do that so... 10:14 And their bodies are broken 10:16 from working so hard their entire lives 10:19 and not taking care of themselves. 10:21 That's exactly true. 10:23 They're hurting all over, they've got arthritis, 10:24 and they cannot do it. 10:28 Many of them are hunched. Right. 10:30 They have back problems like crazy. 10:32 We have a lot of low back pain, neck, and shoulder pain. 10:36 Knees are all gone out 10:38 and so they have a really hard time 10:41 when they get older. 10:42 But then there's you. 10:44 So anyway I went with them and BletJhaw told them, 10:47 assured them that I was strong and I could do it. 10:49 So we climbed, and climbed, and climbed 10:51 and we could have lost a couple of times 10:52 and went up the jungle path 10:54 and actually I like to climb up. 10:58 I can go for ages uphill, 11:01 it's downhill I have a hard time with, 11:03 it just gets very steep. 11:04 Yeah. 11:06 So when we got to the top, 11:07 our job was to cut limbs of trees 11:11 and use their branches to sweep. 11:13 And so some of the men would go with machetes 11:15 and cut down the weeds and the small trees 11:18 and then the whole rest of us 11:19 would go along sweeping off the leaves, 11:22 and with so many people it was just amazing 11:24 to see that a path is getting clear really wide. 11:26 So fast. Path. 11:28 And very well. Wow. Yes. 11:29 And so being a part of that group was really fun. 11:32 We got, some people got caterpillar stings 11:36 and BletJhaw cut his finger on a weed stem, 11:38 and I fell down this escarpment on my bottom. 11:42 For quite a ways really fast 11:44 because I would go downhill, this is really steep. 11:48 And so the people are really kind, 11:50 they're not gonna laugh, 11:51 they just want to help, and it's kind of funny 11:54 because I cannot keep on my feet 11:57 when is that steep 11:58 and they've already cut the weeds and the branches 12:01 so there's really nothing to stop. 12:03 And I just had my old flip-flops on, 12:06 some of the others had the boots 12:07 but anyway we got down to the bottom. 12:12 So you had fun working with them? 12:14 Yes, we did and when we got to the bottom, 12:16 we drunk out of this stream with a leaf 12:18 and it was really neat 12:19 because then they cut the banana branches down, 12:21 laid them down for a tablecloth, 12:23 and then the women had some chilies and rice cooked, 12:27 and we all sat around those leaves, 12:29 that's the next picture. 12:31 And we ate our rice and chilies together 12:35 and then we continued our work. 12:36 Everything is steep, it's either up, 12:38 or sideways, or down. 12:40 And so that Tuesday was a really good fun day 12:44 to laugh and talk with the people. 12:48 Yeah, it was very worthwhile. 12:49 People come to me later and say, 12:51 "You worked in the mountain, you weren't even paid." 12:54 And I say, "I was paid by knowing the people." 12:56 They are very, very fun to work with them. 13:00 So they came back hungry from working in the fields 13:02 so you have the meal ready for them. 13:04 Yes, and everybody came more than ever before 13:08 and we had enough food for everybody 13:10 and it was our very best meal that we had served that day. 13:14 And then after the meal we had worship 13:16 and it was our very best worship 13:18 because we had introduced them to God, 13:20 and the angels, 13:22 and we had talked about the Bible, 13:25 and the importance of it 13:26 and the last one I wanted to tell them 13:29 how Jesus died to save us. 13:31 And, you know, the Spirit of Prophecy says 13:33 that He will put into our mouths the very words 13:37 that are needed to reach the hearts. 13:39 And because I hadn't had a lot of time to prepare 13:43 and I wanted to make this just so powerful 13:46 with the Holy Spirit, 13:47 but God says He put into our mouths the words 13:50 and so, that worship, I started it by saying, 13:55 "Think about the person that you love the most. 13:58 Your very best friend, 13:59 the person that means the most to you." 14:01 And then I said, "Would you be willing to give up your life 14:04 to save them? 14:06 If something happened, 14:07 would you be willing to die for that person?" 14:09 And, you know, there were like oh. 14:13 And then I said after that sunk in, 14:16 I said, "Now think of the person you hate the most, 14:20 the person that you like the least in your life. 14:24 And do you have that in your mind?" 14:26 And they say, "Yes." 14:27 And some of the men were going. 14:29 They want to do something bad to them 14:31 and then I said, "Would you be willing to die 14:34 for that person?" 14:36 And so you see the comparison to Jesus 14:41 what He did for us and what we don't like them 14:44 and all of us we don't really know Jesus 14:47 and what really He did for us but He died for us. 14:50 So then we went through that the story of Jesus' death, 14:53 and then about heaven 14:57 and how beautiful heaven will be. 14:59 And after every worship we did a health talk 15:01 and talked about teeth, and talked about cleanliness, 15:06 and water inside and out, and then the last time 15:09 we just went over all the eight natural remedies 15:12 just the ones that they needed the most, 15:15 I didn't do all eight. 15:16 But the ones they needed the most 15:18 and then after the worships we sang 15:20 and they've never heard music like that, 15:23 and we couldn't have done it with just two of us. 15:25 But BletJhaw's brother-in-law, and him, and I, you know, 15:29 BletJhaw played the guitar, and we'd all sing in Karen, 15:31 and we'd sing in English, 15:33 and the people just didn't want us to stop. 15:36 They just listened and kept on, 15:40 we just sang as much as we could and then... 15:43 So is this the picture from that village of all the people? 15:46 So then, after all that the last thing 15:48 that we did was to give out t-shirts to everyone, 15:52 and they were thrilled, and we took this group shot. 15:55 It is very rewarding because as we left 15:58 they were all standing out there waving to us and... 16:01 So as I said goodbye to these simple people 16:04 and thinking about how blatant the devil works 16:07 in the villages and in that area. 16:09 I think but yet, you know, 16:11 I think these people are much nearer to the kingdom 16:13 than people in America which have luxury 16:17 and they have everything they want 16:18 and they're focused on their vacations 16:21 and their material things 16:23 and don't have a burden to use the knowledge 16:26 that they have to help others. 16:28 They know more about Jesus 16:29 than any of my people out there in the jungle. 16:32 And so it makes me very sad to think 16:34 that Americans are not sharing that 16:38 and going out because you can touch 16:40 any of my jungle mountains 16:41 and there's villages of Karen people out there 16:44 that don't know God, know nothing 16:46 and need so much help. 16:48 And if I know that much about my area, 16:51 my little tiny area of the world, it's in India, 16:53 it's in all these other countries as well. 16:56 So as Seventh-day Adventist, 16:59 we need to be the most prominent in all areas 17:03 to teach about God. 17:05 Going and sharing. Yeah. Yes. 17:07 The great commission, 17:08 that's part of why we're doing this show, 17:10 that's to share that 17:12 there are still needs out there. 17:13 There are still a lot of people out there, 17:15 they're beautiful people, they just have no idea. 17:19 I don't know that somebody that loves them enough 17:22 to die for them 17:23 even though they're acting like they hate him, 17:25 you know, by sinning. 17:27 Yes. 17:29 But, you know, they don't know 17:30 and what gives me encouragement is 17:32 to read some things Mrs. White talks about. 17:35 God understands the heredity, 17:38 the characteristics and the habits of people 17:40 and where they come from and He can save them, 17:44 even though they haven't had the opportunities 17:47 that we have. 17:48 And so I know that if I just keep going 17:51 and press on and reach as many people as I can, 17:54 God can save them. 17:56 When the Holy Spirit comes down at the end of the times 17:58 that many people will come 18:01 because God knows their simplicity 18:04 in their hearts. Right. 18:05 Yeah, and they're coming out of such darkness 18:08 and such lack of light, you know, it's darkness 18:11 but it's also that they don't know, 18:13 the light isn't there. 18:14 Yeah. 18:16 And how many more places like you said. 18:17 How many more places are there in the world 18:19 all over the place? 18:21 So, yeah, I really... 18:22 If we all wake up and go, 18:24 it would just be, let Jesus come. 18:28 Yeah. 18:29 And I know that the next picture 18:31 that you have to share is very special to your heart 18:33 because it is a longer term, the planting situation. 18:38 Yes, shows how long you need to work with these people 18:41 so that they know just enough doctrines of the church 18:43 and change their life enough 18:45 so that they can really be Seventh-day Adventists. 18:47 Because six years ago, 18:49 we got a call by JawHtu, a village, 18:53 WaSuTah, it's just five kilometers away 18:55 that somebody shot themselves in their right ear 18:57 and they lay dead. 18:59 And so I think, oh, what do I need, 19:01 a blood pressure cuff and as we go in the truck 19:04 and then when we got to the village, 19:05 you probably heard a lot of people heard this story 19:08 because it's awesome. 19:10 And we got there and the man was not dead 19:11 but he was slumped in the corner 19:13 and the blood gushing out of his ear 19:15 and they took his blood pressure 19:16 and he had a faint pressure and he was breathing so I said, 19:20 "Would you get the truck quick, 19:21 we need to take him to the clinic." 19:23 And clinic is two hours of bad road away 19:26 and they can't do surgery or anything 19:29 not much more than I do 19:30 so then you have to get in truck 19:31 and go to Omkoi which is two and a half 19:33 some hours away, 19:35 that's a small hospital, doesn't do surgery. 19:37 So they put you in an ambulance 19:39 and take you to Chiang Mai, which is another several hours. 19:43 So at the time I saw that man go and we left. 19:46 I knew medically speaking he would die that we went home, 19:50 BletJaw and I, we prayed for that man. 19:52 In three weeks he came back and he did not die, 19:55 they had taken this much of his skull out 19:57 and had removed nine bullets on his head and he was alive. 20:02 So he... And he wasn't paralyzed. 20:04 No. Wow! 20:07 That was a total miracle. 20:08 Yeah, and the doctor said 20:10 he would not be able to work in his rice garden for a year 20:13 and he worked in it after six months. 20:16 So we've been working with him 20:17 ever since at the time he did that, 20:19 his little girl had cried so much, 20:21 he thought she would die so he said to himself, 20:23 "If I live, I won't do opium again." 20:25 Because it's the opium 20:27 that brings you highs and lows in your life 20:30 and a lot of them commit suicide 20:32 when they get depressed. 20:34 So he came back and stayed off of opium for a long time 20:36 and we started worships with them 20:38 because they're so grateful. 20:39 When you save somebody's life, 20:41 they want to know the God you worship. 20:43 The medical field just builds a bridge 20:45 to the people's hearts and love. 20:47 We're not there just to have a clinic 20:48 and all the medicine, no. 20:50 We're there to reach the hearts and that's what does it. 20:53 So we study with them for a long time 20:57 and then he went back on opium. 20:59 He just didn't have any backbone. 21:01 He went back on opium 21:02 and, oh, I cried and cried trying to just plead 21:06 with the Lord, bring him back 21:08 because that's a miracle. 21:10 God wants to save that man. 21:12 So then he come to us like a mile away 21:14 he come to our house nest, 21:16 "Please help him get off opium." 21:18 So we did, we worked with him again 21:21 and he got off opium 21:22 because he wanted to be baptized. 21:25 And so, as soon as he was off of it, 21:27 we had the baptism 21:29 that was after six years of studying 21:30 with that family, he and his wife were baptized. 21:34 Wonderful. 21:35 So it was a real, real lovely time. 21:39 But the people really need your prayers 21:41 because it's so easy for them to go back on opium 21:46 and to back on their old habits. 21:47 And so as we pray for them, 21:51 the Lord can do they just need a personal relationship 21:53 with Jesus. 21:54 And so I'm really excited 21:57 because last year I met a Karen young man 22:00 that works with the Karen people here 22:03 in America. 22:04 He is the leader for the Adventist Karen, 22:07 he's the church planter and very talented 22:10 and he consented to do evangelism in my village 22:13 at the end of this year. 22:15 And so he's planning to come, 22:17 and he knows the area, he knows the people. 22:18 It's the first time that somebody else can come in 22:22 and show the people because my desire is, 22:24 they see BletJaw and I and we're obeying 22:27 but now they can see more people 22:28 that are happy as they obey and really, you can do it. 22:33 You can just forsake these old habits. 22:35 Right. 22:37 And then the next thing that encouraged me so much is 22:39 there's a couple that we've also been studying with 22:42 and they are not doing opium, or alcohol, or tobacco, 22:46 and they sell their pig. 22:48 And they told us this lovely young couple that 22:52 when we come back, 22:53 when I come back from America this time, 22:55 they want to be baptized. 22:57 So I'm looking forward to God 22:59 willing to another beautiful baptism. 23:01 Every soul is worth it. Yes. 23:04 Everything you have to go through, 23:05 all those bad roads, all the people that you help 23:07 that will never turn to Christ. 23:10 It's worth it anyway 23:12 because there's a chance they will. 23:14 Exactly, and God says in the Spirit of Prophecy 23:17 that when we're working for God, 23:19 He considers everything a success. 23:22 Wow. Yeah. 23:23 And He's the one that does everything, 23:25 it's not me. 23:26 He does everything, He supplies all our needs, 23:29 and we have full confidence to totally depend on Him. 23:35 And when those people, 23:36 you know, they come to you or whatever 23:38 and they're so dirty and you see where they live 23:41 and they're, you know, it's just like, 23:43 they're the least of the least, you know. 23:46 And then you see what they can become 23:48 when they let Jesus into their life. 23:50 That's really, really special. 23:52 And then when they know that they are no different 23:55 than the king of Thailand, we're all the same, 23:58 God loves them just as much as all these people 24:00 they think are so important. 24:03 And that's a neat thought for them 24:05 because they're forgotten... 24:07 The Karen people are a forgotten, 24:08 downtrodden, traumatized people 24:11 but through it all they've become... 24:12 They are the kindest, sweetest, 24:14 loving people that you can't help 24:17 but fall in love with them 24:19 and just do all you can to help them. 24:21 Yeah, and I know one of the things 24:24 that's a burden on your heart 24:25 and I would like to ask our viewers 24:26 to pray for also is for the audio Bibles for them 24:29 because many of them are illiterate, 24:31 they can't read. 24:33 Yes, and so they need the Bible in a format 24:35 that they can understand. 24:36 Yes, that is gonna be the salvation of 24:40 so many people 24:41 and I know that there are S'gaw Karen audio Bibles. 24:45 And somehow the devil is trying to block me from it. 24:49 In the past we had somebody donate about six of them 24:53 and we've given them out, they're just solar ones, 24:55 so that it's hard to get enough power 24:57 from the sun to play it. 24:58 Especially in the rainy season. 25:00 Yes, so I need to get and I will spend any money 25:04 and work to get audio Bibles for everyone 25:09 because I feel like that's the only hope. 25:11 They can't stay off opium, 25:12 they need to really get a grip on the Lord. 25:15 And as they listen, 25:17 God will work to help them understand 25:19 and speak to their hearts. 25:20 Right. 25:21 Well, Gayle, I know you have a couple of quotes 25:23 you want to share right here at the end also. 25:25 It's amazing how fast our time goes. 25:27 Right. 25:28 I talk a lot about this for hours, 25:32 but a couple of quotations that means so much to me 25:38 and are so powerful to all of us to do our best 25:42 to reach the lost. 25:44 What would we want other people to do for us 25:46 if we were in their shoes and didn't know? 25:49 That people don't know, they need Jesus, 25:51 we have to go to them. 25:53 And so what should we be willing to sacrifice? 25:56 Here it says in Review and Herald, Jesus about Jesus, 26:00 "His suffering, his agony, his death was counted by him 26:04 as nothing 26:05 that souls might be rescued from sin." 26:09 I think that's really beautiful 26:10 and then comes the admonition for us 26:13 which is can be, make you tremble. 26:15 "If we are not willing to make special sacrifices 26:19 in order to save souls that are ready to perish, 26:22 how can we be counted worthy to enter the city of God?" 26:27 So this brings tears to my eyes because this is true. 26:30 We've forgotten our first love as a church 26:33 and we are not missionary minded. 26:35 We're not going out to the one lost sheep 26:37 of the ninety and nine. 26:39 We want to stay in the fold of safety 26:41 where everything is easy 26:43 but that's not what God is asking us to do. 26:46 And if Jesus was willing to do anything, 26:49 everything He went through He would have done for one. 26:51 Yes. 26:52 What are we willing to do for them? 26:53 And for me, if I think I'm going to be in heaven 26:57 how much do I owe the Lord 26:59 to lead up my brothers and sisters 27:01 and how terrible if they come to me and said, 27:02 "You were right there and you didn't tell me." 27:05 I don't want that happen to anyone. 27:07 No. 27:10 How would you feel if it was you 27:11 and someone came and said, 27:13 "You were right there and you didn't tell me." 27:15 And then they said, "And now I'm eternally lost." 27:20 Wouldn't it be better if they came and they said, 27:22 "You came and you told me and I'm here 27:25 and I get to see Jesus face to face." 27:28 Wouldn't that be better? 27:31 I just want to invite you, 27:32 if the Lord has impressed you to get involved in any way. 27:35 You can give for Gayle's project, 27:37 you can pray for Gayle's project, 27:39 you can tell others. 27:41 We need mission's advocates here 27:43 in America too. 27:45 But if the Lord has impressed you 27:46 and you would like to give, 27:47 you can give your tax-deductible love gift 27:50 at Jesus for Asia, 27:51 PO Box 1221, Collegedale, Tennessee 37315. 27:57 Call us at 423-413-7321. 28:01 Or go to our website at Jesus4asia.org. 28:05 May God richly bless you 28:07 as we work together to rescue the perishing 28:09 so that Jesus can come soon. |
