We want to know a little bit more about Jesus 01:24 and His character. Do you know that He likes spending time 01:27 early in the morning and in the evening and do you know what He 01:32 liked to do in Nazareth. He would often go up the mountains 01:37 and He would love to talk to His heavenly Father. And He would 01:40 study the scriptures every once in a while and let His light 01:45 shine. You know that reminds me of a song that says Thy Word Is 01:49 A Lamp Unto My Path. Do you know that song? Do you really know it 01:54 Would you like to sing it? Shall we ask Ben to play it for us? 01:57 Play it Ben. Yaaay. 01:59 Will you sing it with us? 03:07 Oh I'm so glad that God wants to be the light of each of our 03:12 paths. Yeah! You know He would spend lots of time there. 03:15 Have you ever been where it's really, really dark and you were 03:20 scared. Yes, yes. Yes. You haven't. You're lucky. Can I 03:25 tell you a quick part of a story here. I was in Michigan and we 03:29 had to walk about a half a mile and we forgot our flashlight and 03:33 it's midnight. We had just helped bake a whole bunch of 03:37 bread for a camp and we had to walk to our cabin. And we 03:42 couldn't see anything. And what do you think we had to do? 03:44 Pray. You're right, that's exactly what we did. And then 03:48 once we were really quiet and listening to God's voice we 03:53 could pay attention after we said Amen we heard the water and 03:59 we could hear it and we kind of knew what path we needed to go. 04:02 And it's only because we were quiet and listening to God's 04:07 Word. Wouldn't you like to have that? Yeah, yeah. You know what, 04:11 hey, before we go to our Bible story Kalil will you help us get 04:15 a, let's see if there's any mail I want to know if we got any 04:19 mail lately. I haven't checked the mail lately. 04:22 We got some. 04:23 Do we? Yaaay. I love having mail Do you like having mail? Yeah. 04:29 Ooooh. Oh, Ginger's excited about seeing mail too. Look at 04:35 this. I have some beautiful pictures. Wow. And you know what 04:40 Can you read what it says? It's kind of hard to read. I actually 04:46 can't read some of these pictures. But you know what, 04:49 that is so special. What is a special love letter from God? 04:53 His Bible. His Bible. How often do we take time to read the 05:02 scripture?. How many Bibles do you think you have in your home? 05:05 Put up how many fingers you think you might have in your 05:08 home. Alike (fingers up) And how often do you take time to 05:12 read it in a day? Oh oh. You know sometimes we don't take 05:19 time to read God's word. And you know it's really hard because I 05:23 try to make a habit of trying to read the Bible first thing in 05:27 the morning. And sometimes I'm in such a hurry that I forget to 05:32 take time for God. Ohh, oh no. You know what, I think we can 05:39 learn something about Jesus and His character. Are you ready for 05:42 a Bible story? Chorus of yes. ♪ ♪ 05:51 So you know in the Bible was probably there in some scrolls 05:54 or in some kind of scripture and we don't know exactly how Jesus 05:57 might have had access to them. We don't know if it was a gift 06:00 from the Magi or they used it for money or maybe it was from 06:04 the temple. We don't know how He got it but it seems like Jesus 06:11 possibly studied the scrolls. And you know what? Did you know 06:14 what was interesting about those scrolls? Do you know how they 06:17 write? Do you know how they write? They write from right to 06:22 left. You know that. Good job. And you know that they had 22 06:26 letters. Not so many vowels. They had 22 letters. That's kind 06:31 of different. And so I can imagine Jesus going up on the 06:36 mountain side very early in the morning like He always did and 06:41 dusk where He would take time for God. And I would just like 06:46 to imagine what that would have looked like. Would you like to 06:49 see our picture book. See I can imaging Jesus and you know what 06:56 I see Him praying and taking time to read God's word. 07:00 The prophet Isaiah says, Surely He has borne our griefs and 07:04 carried our sorrows. Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten 07:08 by God and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions 07:12 He was bruised for our iniquity the chastisement for our peace 07:16 was upon Him and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep 07:20 have gone astray. We have turned every one to his own way. And 07:25 the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was 07:29 oppressed and He was afflicted. Yet He opened not His mouth. 07:33 He was led as a lamb to the slaughter and as a sheep before 07:37 it's shearers is dumb so He opened not His mouth. 07:42 Heavenly Father, please help me to do anything for you. Please 07:49 help me to know that I am perfect in your sight and please 07:53 help me to learn all of your scriptures. In your name I pray 07:57 Amen. ♪ ♪ 08:07 I'm finding myself at a loss for words. And the funny thing is 08:18 it's okay. The last thing I need is to be heard. 08:28 But to hear what you would say. 08:34 Word of God speak Would you pour down like rain. 08:41 Washing my heart to see your majesty. 08:49 To be still and know that you are in this place. 08:55 Please let me stay and rest In your holiness. 09:03 I can just imagine Jesus having a wonderful time out in nature 09:11 listening to God. Would you like to take time and make it for 09:17 Jesus. Take that time, even if it's just one verse in the Bible 09:21 before you go to school. That's a hard thing to do. I have to 09:25 practice it too but can you do that for me? Because that's 09:29 something that's really important because that message 09:31 can go throughout the whole day. You know somebody that I knew 09:36 and a story, there is a person that is a surgeon and I want to 09:43 know if you recognize who this person is. Let's see if I can 09:47 get it on and he is right here. Do you know who this person is? 09:52 Who is this person? Hmm. Ben Carson? That is Ben Carson. 09:58 And you know what, he had a little temper and he had to pray 10:04 Jesus, you've got to help me. And you know what his favorite 10:06 book is now? The Bible. You've got it. It is the Bible. 10:10 You know, we can learn so much about nature and the skies and 10:15 we can find out about the cumulus clouds and cirrus clouds 10:21 and stratus and the nimbus. I can tell you've been to school. 10:27 We can learn so much about nature and about God and He 10:32 wants to have His word in your heart. Don't you want to have 10:36 Him in your heart today? Yeah! I sure do. Are you ready for 10:39 some questions with Aunt Francine? Yeah. You think you're 10:43 ready. Oh let's see how ready you are. So here we go. 10:55 Was it A - Orally, B - reading. or C - Both orally and reading. 11:04 Woo. That's a tough one. How many of you said C. Did you say 11:08 C. You are right. It was orally, meaning talking and reading the 11:14 scriptures. That's how we can learn about God's word, right? 11:17 Yeah. Right? Okay. 11:25 Would it be A - During the noon time. B - Early in the morning 11:30 and at dusk or C - When He was helping others? When was Jesus 11:36 often talking with his heavenly Father? Did you say B. Yes, 11:43 you're right. I'm so glad that we can have Jesus as our light. 11:47 Do you want Him to be your light today? Yeah, Yes. Shall I tell 11:50 you a quick story? Yeah. You know it was really, really dark 11:54 one time. Did I tell you that story? How dark it was. Have you 11:58 ever been really, really scared? In your covers and sometimes 12:03 you're so scared you don't know what you're going to do. What 12:06 can you do when you're really, really scared? 12:09 You can pray. 12:10 You can pray. And remember some of those verses. So if you take 12:14 time to read the Bible what do you want to do? You want to 12:19 write it in your hearts, right? Because we want God's word to be 12:23 the light for our path. Are you ready to have Jesus as the light 12:27 for your path? I'm so thankful that Jesus wants 12:30 to be the light for 12:32 our path. Don't you want to make time for Him each day? 12:34 Yes (chorus). We don't have a lot of time for our craft today 12:38 but you know what? How can we make the word special to us and 12:43 put it in our hearts. What do we need to do? Read the Bible 12:48 every day and make time for that We don't have a lot of time for 12:52 our craft today but you can find it where? 12:54 At 3ABNKids.tv.
