Neto, don't tell me this. 02:04 I don't remember which one it is. 02:06 You're my sidekick, Neto. 02:07 You can't be forgetting stuff. 02:08 But you're the main one so you come with this story. 02:11 Come on, Neto. Stay with me, Neto. 02:13 Stay with me, Neto. 02:15 But let's go right into the story. 02:17 I'm sure it's going to refresh your memory, Neto. 02:19 I hope so. All right, here we go. 02:21 There were once three Hebrews, 02:24 but their names were different now 02:26 because these three Hebrews 02:28 had actually be trained in the school of Babylon. 02:32 So they changed their names 02:33 to Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. 02:36 And so these three heroes were at home one time, 02:39 during their work they're pipe pitting things away 02:41 and all of a sudden from outside their window, 02:44 they hear the sound of a trumpet. 02:49 They thought, "Did you hear that? 02:50 What was that?" 02:51 They opened the window, and sure enough, 02:53 it was a messenger, 02:55 someone with a message to tell the community. 02:58 And the three Hebrews knew exactly 03:02 what this announcement would be. 03:04 You know why? 03:06 Because they were waiting for it. 03:07 They knew what was coming. 03:09 And now was the time the announcement was made. 03:12 Everyone who can hear my voice 03:15 must gather together in the Valley of Dura, 03:20 this afternoon at 3 o'clock sharp, 03:23 you must be there 03:26 and do not miss this. 03:29 And so the three brothers... 03:31 Wait, were they three brothers, Neto? 03:33 No, no, no, they're friends, friends. 03:35 They were good friends, really close friends, 03:38 close enough to be like brothers. 03:40 And so they said, "All right. 03:43 We were waiting for this day. 03:44 We knew what's coming. 03:46 We're ready for it. Let's go." 03:48 And so later that day, they all gather, 03:50 they all made their way to the Valley of Dura. 03:52 And they were not alone, 03:54 they were together with governors, 03:57 and treasures, and officers, and satraps, 04:00 and they were all heading to this valley 04:03 and when they got there, 04:04 they could not believe their eyes 04:07 because right in the centre of the valley 04:10 was this gigantic, 04:13 huge, enormous... 04:17 Neto, what are you doing? 04:19 What is it? I can't see it. 04:21 A huge statue! 04:22 Let's pretend, Neto. It's not really here. 04:25 We're pretending. 04:26 Guys, do you see it, guys? 04:28 Do you see it? Can you see it? 04:29 No! 04:30 Your imagination, guys, you got to imagine this. 04:33 Yeah. Imagine this. 04:34 Yeah, imagine this. 04:36 How big was it? How big was it? 04:37 Imagine, imagine, imagine a huge image. 04:42 The Bible says it was 90 feet high. 04:46 Oh, mere! Can you believe that? 04:47 It's a big statue. 04:48 Neto, how tall are you? 04:50 I'm like six feet nothing, yeah. 04:53 Six feet, nothing? Yeah. 04:54 So that's about 12-13 Netos on top of each other, 04:59 all the way up. 05:01 Oh, man, poor guy in the bottom. 05:03 Whoa, that's huge, 90 feet. 05:06 And this image was not made of plastic. 05:09 It was not even made of chocolate. 05:10 What do you think it was made of? 05:12 Gold! 05:13 Pure gold. Wow! 05:15 And they made this announcement. 05:17 The herald came up, he said, "Listen up everybody. 05:21 This is the command. 05:22 You will hear all sounds of instruments. 05:26 And when you hear the sounds, 05:27 at the sound of the instruments, 05:29 you have one choice 05:31 and that one choice is 05:33 you will bow down, you will fall down 05:36 and you will worship the image." 05:41 Can you believe that? 05:42 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, 05:44 they were prepared for this. 05:46 They had already made up their mind. 05:49 And so they stood with everyone else. 05:51 All the people were standing together 05:54 and all of a sudden the music began to play. 06:00 That's weak, Neto, that's weak. 06:03 You can do a little bit better than that, Neto. 06:08 Better, better, better. 06:09 Maybe he needs some help. 06:11 Maybe you guys can help him at the count of three. 06:13 Let's make all sorts of noise of instruments. 06:17 Are you ready? One, two, three, go! 06:23 Yeah, that's more like it. 06:26 And when they heard those noise, 06:28 all these people like hundreds, no, thousands of them, 06:31 they fell down. 06:34 And they bowed down in front of this image, 06:37 except for one, two, three men, 06:42 you know who they were. 06:44 Who were they? 06:45 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. 06:48 Wow! They stood tall, Neto. 06:50 What a courage. They stood tall! 06:52 They stood tall. 06:54 And the king couldn't believe it 06:57 because the king had commanded that all should bow down. 07:01 And he said, "Who are those three? 07:02 Bring them to me." 07:03 And they brought them to him. 07:06 And he said, "Did we not tell you 07:08 that the punishment for disobeying my word 07:12 is to be thrown into a fiery furnace?" 07:15 And the three Hebrews said, "We do know that, 07:18 and that's okay. 07:20 That's okay. Our God can save us. 07:23 But even if He doesn't save us, 07:25 we're not going to bow down to this idol 07:27 because we worship the one true God." 07:29 They were loyal, boys and girls. 07:32 They were what, everyone? 07:33 Loyal! 07:34 That's right, they were loyal. 07:36 That means that nothing, nothing will distract them. 07:39 They were loyal to their God, committed to Him. 07:43 This made the king angry, he said, "Enough is enough. 07:46 Put them in the fiery furnace." 07:48 So they grabbed them, 07:50 tied their feet up, tied their hands up. 07:52 Now there were bound, 07:53 and they carried them to the fiery furnace. 07:56 Neto, can you imagine 07:57 how hot that fiery furnace must have been? 07:59 The Bible says it was seven times hotter 08:03 than just the normal. 08:05 Seven times hotter. Can you imagine? 08:07 Yes. It was wild fire. 08:08 Wow! 08:10 That's the hottest kind, isn't it? 08:11 Yeah. That's right. That's right. 08:13 We have another comment here, another question. 08:15 Please, Abby. 08:16 What do you think? 08:18 The Bible also says that the men who are closest to it 08:22 they fell down dead because it was so hot. 08:24 Unbelievable! 08:26 The fire was so intense that even the guards, 08:29 she's right, Neto, she's right. 08:31 Even the guards... 08:34 Can you imagine? 08:35 It was that hot. 08:36 And they fell down as dead men. 08:38 And Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, 08:41 they were tossed into this fiery furnace. 08:43 And the king probably sat back and said, 08:45 "Oh, I bet that taught them a lesson." 08:49 And all of a sudden, he looks and he can't believe his eyes. 08:53 They're gone, right? They're gone. 08:56 They're burnt up. 08:57 Neto, there was not just three. 09:00 There were now four! 09:02 And Nebuchadnezzar looked and said, "But wait a minute. 09:05 Wait a minute. 09:06 I thought there were just three, 09:08 but I see four walking in the midst of the furnace." 09:13 And he said, "Come out, 09:15 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. 09:17 Come out!" 09:19 And guess what happened? 09:21 They just walked out. 09:23 Just like this. Just like this. 09:24 Whoa! 09:26 Just came out. 09:27 And guess what? Something did burn. 09:29 Oh, yeah. Something did burn. 09:30 What do you think burned? 09:32 The ropes. That's right. 09:34 The ropes. 09:35 They could walk 09:36 and their hands were up in the air praising God. 09:38 Yes, we have a comment there. 09:40 Grandma Tina or our one of our refs can 09:42 give them a mike. 09:44 Yes, Jasmine. 09:45 What's also amazing is that 09:47 even their clothes didn't smell like smoke. 09:50 Isn't that awesome? 09:51 Even their clothes. 09:53 And God is so good. God is so good. 09:56 Because when we are loyal to God, 09:58 believe me, He protects us. 10:00 He is such a great God, isn't He? 10:02 That's a really great story. 10:04 When they came out of the furnace, the king said, 10:06 "Indeed, your God is the true God." 10:09 Wow! What an amazing story! 10:11 Kids, don't go away because when we come back, 10:14 we're going to take a quiz 10:15 to see just how much we remember. 10:18 We'll be right back. |
