Did you eat a good breakfast? 01:01 Yes, I had a piece of toast 01:03 and then another piece of toast, 01:05 and then I put peanut butter in the middle. 01:07 Oh, good. Good. Some honey. 01:09 Some honey? It's gourmet. 01:10 And then you fold it together. 01:12 It's called sandwich. 01:14 Oh, wow! 01:16 I guess that's good enough. 01:18 I hope it is. 01:19 Did you guys eat a good breakfast? 01:20 Yes! Oh, good! 01:23 Oh, good. Oh, yes, he did. 01:24 Well, those viewing at home, 01:25 I hope you ate a good breakfast too 01:27 'cause we're gonna need a lot of energy here today. 01:29 My name is Christian Martin, 01:31 and I'm gonna be your captain 01:32 as we go through this fun experience today. 01:35 As we take a look at a Bible story, 01:37 and then we're gonna quiz you. 01:39 Oh, it's gonna be good. 01:40 And I'm so thankful that 01:42 we have three referees here today. 01:44 We have Kaylee, and Emily, and grandma Tina. 01:46 Let's welcome our referees. 01:49 Oh, good! 01:50 Referees, we're so thankful that 01:52 you're here today 01:53 'cause you keep us under control. 01:55 Thank you. So our Neto... Who are these kids? 01:58 Who are they? 02:00 These kids. 02:01 Well, of course, 02:03 how can we not introduce these kids? 02:04 These kids are so awesome. 02:06 And if you're viewing at home, 02:08 let me introduce you 02:09 to two teams are with us here today. 02:11 Look at those colors. 02:13 Neto, you like those colors. 02:14 I like the purple. 02:15 I love these colors. But I like the blue. 02:17 We got the purple T-shirts, and they are the Hawks. 02:20 Let's welcome the hawks. 02:22 All right. 02:23 We are so glad the Hawks are with us here today. 02:26 And not only do we have the Hawks, 02:28 but we have the blue T-shirts, and they are the Blue Jays. 02:34 All right. 02:35 So two awesome teams 02:37 and today we're gonna have a good time together. 02:39 So should we start with our story? 02:41 Oh, yeah, what story we're telling? 02:43 Let's go right into it. Let's go right into it. 02:45 Once there was a young man, his name was Joseph. 02:50 Anyone named Joseph here today? 02:52 All right. 02:54 Well, I love the name Joseph. 02:55 He was one of 12. And these 12 brothers... 02:58 Uh-oh. 03:00 The Bible says they became very jealous, 03:03 very jealous of Joseph. 03:05 Because Joseph was one of the favorite sons. 03:08 In fact, he was the favorite son 03:10 of his father. 03:11 And the brothers knew that, and they did not like that, 03:13 and they were jealous. 03:15 And so they decided, one day as Joseph 03:16 was coming down the road towards them, 03:18 they said, "Hey, listen, guys, 03:20 come here, come here, come here. 03:21 Let's grab Joseph 03:23 and let's throw him into that dry well." 03:26 Good idea. 03:27 Well, they grabbed him, threw him in that well. 03:30 And Joseph was now in a place that 03:33 he never imagined he would be in. 03:36 But you know what, kids? 03:37 It went from bad to worse. 03:39 The next day, 03:40 they wanted to cover up what they did. 03:42 They didn't want their father to find out. 03:44 Can you imagine if dad found out 03:46 what they did to their brother, 03:47 especially the favorite son? 03:49 They decided that they would do something even meaner. 03:53 Neto, how mean can you get? 03:55 Can you imagine? Even meaner than that? 03:57 Meaner than that. What was it? 03:59 What did he do? 04:00 They sold him as a slave. 04:04 There were some people coming by, 04:06 and they were on their way to Egypt, 04:08 and they said, "Let's sell him as a slave." 04:11 And then we'll get rid of them and he's gonna be gone forever. 04:13 We won't have to worry about this dreamer. 04:16 And so they sold him as a slave. 04:18 Can you imagine? 04:20 And guess for how much, Neto? I don't know, a $100. 04:23 Twenty! 04:24 Twenty pieces of silver. 04:26 Can you imagine that? 04:28 Twenty pieces of silver. And so they took him to Egypt. 04:31 When they got to Egypt, 04:32 they actually sold them as a slave to an officer 04:36 of Egypt named Potiphar. 04:39 Really? Potiphar. 04:41 Does... 04:42 Does anyone know someone named Potiphar? 04:45 It's kind of a funny name, isn't it? 04:46 You know someone named Potiphar? 04:49 Potiphar. Okay, you know Potiphar. 04:51 Okay. These kids are sharp, Neto. 04:54 Really sharp. They are super sharp. 04:55 They're super sharp. 04:57 Did we get come up with harder questions today? 04:59 I don't know. 05:00 I hope we did, Neto, 'cause these are sharp kids. 05:02 Well, Potiphar bought Joseph as a slave. 05:06 And you know what? 05:08 This is what's amazing, kids, 05:09 and don't miss this point. 05:11 If you're watching at home, 05:12 don't miss this point either. 05:13 Joseph was faithful. He was what everyone? 05:17 Faithful. 05:19 He was faithful. 05:20 He was true to God. 05:22 He didn't go left or didn't go right, 05:24 he stayed focused on God, 05:27 despite everything he was going through. 05:29 And he remained faithful, 05:31 and he was so faithful that 05:32 Potiphar made him a keeper of the house. 05:35 That means that Joseph 05:37 was in charge of all the servants 05:39 that were in the house, and he did a good job. 05:41 He was faithful, until one day. 05:45 What happened? 05:47 Something not so good. 05:49 The wife, Potiphar's wife lied about Joseph. 05:54 So Joseph went there and lied about her, 05:57 so she got in trouble. 05:58 No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, Neto. 06:00 That's not Joseph. 06:01 Joseph, remember, Joseph remained, what everyone? 06:04 He was... 06:05 Faithful. Faithful. 06:07 That's right he was faithful, Neto, he would never lie. 06:09 He was true to God. 06:11 And what happened was, 06:13 he got in trouble because of the wife, 06:15 and they threw him in jail. 06:18 And when he was in jail, 06:20 just like he was in the well, he remained faithful. 06:24 He remained, what everyone? 06:25 Faithful! 06:27 He remained faithful, and he was true to God. 06:29 And because he was true to God, 06:31 guess what? 06:32 The prisoner, the guard prisoner 06:34 made him keeper of the prisoners. 06:37 He put Joseph in charge of all the cells, 06:40 making sure everyone was where they should be. 06:43 Joseph was faithful and so... 06:44 And then he took advantage of that 06:46 and started treating everyone badly. 06:49 Neto, no. 06:50 That's not the way Joseph acted 06:53 because Joseph was, what everyone? 06:56 Faithful! 06:57 He was faithful. Gotcha! 06:59 And faithful men don't act that way, Neto. 07:01 He was faithful. 07:03 And so while in prison, 07:04 he made two good friends, two men, 07:07 one was a butler and the other one was what? 07:10 Baker. A Baker. 07:11 That's right, a baker. Two men, two dreams. 07:15 And they came to Joseph with the dream. 07:18 And they asked, "Joseph, 07:20 can you tell us what these dreams mean?" 07:22 And he did. And guess what? 07:25 They were both fulfilled just like Joseph had said. 07:28 One of them, the butler got his job back, 07:32 but the baker, not so good. 07:36 He was condemned to die. 07:39 Oh! Yes, he was condemned to die. 07:41 So Joseph just told him, "No, you're gonna be fine." 07:44 Is that what Joseph did? No. 07:46 No, that's not what Joseph did. 07:48 Why? Because Joseph was... 07:51 Faithful! 07:53 I got it. I got it. 07:54 Come on, Neto. They're getting it. 07:55 They're getting it. 07:57 He was faithful. 07:58 And so now the butler goes back and gets his job back. 08:02 And he made a promise to Joseph 08:04 that I'm gonna remember you, but he forgot. 08:07 He forgot. 08:10 Almost forgot because one day the butler, 08:13 ding, he remembers." 08:15 Wait a minute. 08:17 I know exactly someone who could help the king 08:20 or the Pharaoh remember his dream 08:22 "You see Pharaoh had a dream too. 08:25 And he needed someone interpret history. 08:27 And so the butler remember Joseph 08:28 and Joseph came out, and he shared with the king 08:32 what that dream meant. 08:33 And guess what? 08:35 That dream was fulfilled. 08:36 Really? Pharaoh's dream was fulfilled. 08:39 The interpretation was sure. 08:40 And Joseph was able to do something very amazing. 08:45 Wow, that's really cool. 08:46 Very cool. 08:48 And it was so cool that guess what? 08:50 Pharaoh said, "You are a wise man. 08:54 And I'm gonna make you now the governor of Egypt." 08:57 Wow. Wow! 08:59 Guys, think about this, wrap your mind around this. 09:02 So if you're watching at home, don't miss this point. 09:04 Here is a man who is in a well, 09:08 remember when they tossed him in there, right? 09:10 He's in a well 09:12 and he's now the governor of Egypt. 09:15 Unbelievable! 09:17 And you know why that happens, boys and girls? 09:19 Because Joseph was... 09:21 Faithful! 09:23 He was faithful. 09:24 And when you are faithful to God, 09:26 God can take you from the lowest pit, 09:29 and He can put you in a place of influence 09:31 where you can do a lot of good for a lot of people 09:34 because Joseph was... 09:37 Faithful! 09:39 I think they got that point, Neto. 09:40 They got it.
