00:02 Today, we're gonna learn about Job, 00:04 and how he showed amazing faith in God. 00:06 Yeah! 00:08 I love learning about faith. 00:10 Faith was on Kitchen Fun just a few weeks ago. 00:13 She is nice, she's my friend, she's a really good cook. 00:17 No, no, no, Julie. Wrong faith. 00:19 Faith is believing in something that you can't see. 00:22 Believing without seeing? 00:24 Now you got it. 00:26 Like if I were blindfolded, 00:28 I would have faith that you could direct... 00:29 Really? You let me blindfold you? 00:33 No, no, no. I said if. 00:34 Great. 00:36 I actually have a blindfold in my pocket here. 00:38 Look at that. Let's see. 02:31 You wanna open it up? 02:34 We'll find our Bible Gem for today. 02:37 Wow! 02:40 Ooh, and the most precious gem of all the scriptures, 02:44 God's holy word, the Bible. 02:48 Are you boys and girls ready to learn 02:49 about a Bible story today? 02:51 Yes! 02:52 Yes, that's awesome. 02:54 But before we do, we're gonna learn 02:55 our memory verse scripture today. 02:57 So, take it away. 02:59 I will bless the Lord at all times 03:04 His praise shall continually 03:08 Be in my mouth 03:10 I will bless the Lord at all times 03:15 His praise shall continually 03:19 Be in my mouth 03:22 Psalm 34:1 03:27 I will bless the Lord at all times 03:33 His praise shall continually 03:36 Be in my mouth 03:39 I will bless the Lord 03:47 All right. 03:48 Thank you for sharing that scripture song. 03:51 Auntie Linda, do you have a story for us today? 03:53 Oh, yes, I do and it's a good one. 03:56 I love Bible stories. 03:59 Do you like Bible stories? 04:01 Yeah! 04:03 There was a great, 04:05 important meeting going on in heaven. 04:09 Whoa. 04:11 All the sons of God had come together, 04:14 the angels, and God was having a special meeting. 04:18 And all of a sudden, God looks over 04:21 and there walks in Satan. 04:27 And God said, "What are you doing here? 04:29 Where have you come from?" 04:31 He said, "Oh, I've come from the earth, 04:33 from going up and going down, 04:35 I've been in the earth walking around." 04:38 And the Lord says, 04:39 "Have you considered my servant, Job?" 04:45 Yeah, just because you bless Him, 04:47 that's why he is like he is, he hates evil. 04:50 He said, "Oh, just take away his stuff 04:52 and he won't feel that way." 04:55 And God said, "All right, but don't do anything to him." 05:00 And so he left. 05:02 Now Job was a very rich man. 05:06 He had 05:13 7,000 sheep, 05:16 and he had about 3,000 camels 05:19 and 500 oxen and 500 she asses, 05:24 and he had 10 children, 05:27 seven boys and three girls. 05:31 And these children were having a get together 05:35 in their oldest brother's house 05:37 and they were eating and they were drinking 05:41 and they were having a good time, 05:46 and Job was at home 05:47 and he always prayed for his children, always. 05:50 Even when they got together, wherever they were, 05:52 he constantly prayed and he loved the Lord 05:55 and he was always blessing the Lord 05:57 no matter what, 05:58 he was always so happy in the Lord. 06:00 And while he was praising and praying 06:03 and he was having good time 06:05 with the Lord at home, all of a sudden, 06:09 someone came running in very fast. 06:14 Oh, oh, something terrible happened. 06:18 Someone came, 06:19 and an enemy and they stole all the oxen 06:23 and they stole all the she asses, 06:27 and I'm the only one that remained, 06:29 they killed all the servants. 06:31 And as he was just bowing down and he was crying, 06:33 all of a sudden another one came in, 06:35 and he said, "I was out in the field, 06:38 and all of a sudden, 06:42 fire came down from heaven and burned up all the sheep." 06:46 And he said, "I'm the only one that is alive!" 06:50 And while he was still talking, all of a sudden, 06:54 someone else came running in 06:58 and they started to shout, 06:59 Chaldeans have taken all the camels, 07:01 and they're all gone. 07:04 Job was like, "Oh, no! What is happening?" 07:08 And then, all of a sudden, 07:11 one of the servants came running in, 07:12 and he was like... 07:16 And Job's like, "What's the matter? 07:18 What's the matter?" 07:19 And he said, "A terrible wind came, 07:22 your children were all eating in the eldest brother's house 07:25 and it collapsed on top of them, 07:27 and I'm the only one that's alive 07:29 and they were all killed!" 07:32 Job began to weep. 07:34 He took and he shaved all his hair off, 07:37 and he knelt down and he sat down 07:41 and cried before the Lord. 07:44 And you know what he said? 07:45 He said, "The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh. 07:49 Blessed be the name of the Lord." 07:53 He did not fault God at all, but he was so sad. 07:58 Then, there was another meeting in heaven. 08:02 And they were talking, 08:03 God was talking 08:05 with all His people that had come 08:07 as representatives from the universe 08:09 and all of a sudden Satan walks in, 08:12 who used to be Lucifer. 08:14 And he walks in, and God said, "What are you doing? 08:18 Where have you come from?" 08:20 He said, "From the earth, from going up and going down." 08:22 And He said, 08:24 "Have you considered my servant Job, 08:25 that there is no evil in him?" 08:28 "Ha-ha, ha-ha! 08:31 If you touch his skin, and just do something to him, 08:36 then he'll curse you." 08:38 And God said, 08:41 "You can do to Job, but not kill him." 08:46 And so Satan said, "Ha-ha, you will see." 08:51 And he walked away. 08:53 Well, Job was still, 08:55 he was still having his sad time with all, 08:57 losing his children 08:59 and he didn't care so much about all his belongings, 09:01 he was very rich. 09:03 And he had lost so much 09:05 when these big, awful, terrible sores 09:11 came up all over his body, 09:15 and they were everywhere, 09:16 and they hurt. 09:18 Have you ever seen a boil? 09:21 It oozes pus and stuff. 09:24 And he went out, and he sat down on the ground, 09:27 and he put ashes from the fire on it 09:29 to try to help 09:31 and he had a little piece of pottery 09:32 and he tried to scrape it, and it was so painful. 09:36 And his wife came out and she was so... 09:39 She looked at him and she just said, 09:42 "Why don't you just curse God and die? 09:45 He's taken everything from you, He's taken our children. 09:48 And now look at you. 09:49 You're full of boils on your head 09:51 and everywhere else from the bottom of his feet, 09:54 till the top of his head." 09:56 He was covered with oozing sores 09:59 and they were painful, 10:01 and he said, 10:02 "No, the Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh. 10:07 Blessed be the name of the Lord." 10:10 He loved God so much and then he saw three friends came, 10:16 and they sat down beside him. 10:18 And Job was weeping 'cause wouldn't you be sad? 10:22 Can you weep with Job? 10:27 And the friends were weeping with him. 10:31 Seven days, they wept with him and no, 10:34 they didn't say a word to him. 10:36 And then, do you think after the seven days 10:39 that they encouraged him and... 10:41 No! No! 10:42 No, they didn't encourage him, you're right. 10:46 They didn't encourage him at all. 10:47 They said, "Well, you must have done something 10:49 to cause the judgments of God to come upon you." 10:53 But you know God was very displeased 10:56 with these friends because Job loved God so much, 11:01 and he said, God said, he was so angry 11:07 and Job knelt down and you know what he did? 11:10 He started praying for his friends. 11:12 "Please save my friends, please save my friends." 11:15 Do you pray for your friends? 11:18 Yes, God hears those prayers. 11:20 And when Job had prayed for his friends, 11:25 his boils went away, 11:28 and God blessed him doubly. 11:32 He had now, 11:34 he didn't just have 7,000 sheep, 11:39 he had like 14, 11:41 and where he had 3,000 animals, 11:43 he had 6,000 animals 11:45 and where he only had 500, 11:47 he had 1,000 animals and... 11:52 That's a good question! 11:54 God gave him 10 more children, 11:57 seven boys and three girls, 12:00 and they were the prettiest girls 12:02 in all the land. 12:04 God blessed him, 12:06 because he truly loved God. 12:10 Wow! 12:11 That's an amazing story about how God was faithful to Job 12:15 and how Job was faithful to God. 12:18 Did any of you boys and girls know before now that at times, 12:23 behind the scenes in the spiritual realm 12:26 that there's Satan accusing God and accusing you? 12:29 Who knew that there were angels 12:31 in the spiritual realm around us? 12:34 Yeah! 12:35 You know, do you guys, at times in your life 12:39 do bad things happen to you sometimes? 12:42 Who here's had something bad happened to you 12:44 or maybe your family? 12:46 Yeah. 12:47 The one who is the originator, 12:49 the one who has caused all the evil 12:51 in the entire world is Satan, not God. 12:56 And that's something that we learn from this story. 12:59 We learn that it wasn't God who destroyed his family, 13:03 who made Job sick. 13:04 But it was Satan who was the destroyer. 13:07 And there's this great controversy, 13:09 this battle going on behind the scenes. 13:12 But, God knew that Job will be faithful 13:16 and even though, 13:17 all of these bad things are happening, 13:19 he didn't sin against God, 13:21 and he chose to just put his faith in Him. 13:25 You boys and girls wanna put your faith in God today? 13:30 Raise your hand 13:31 if you wanna be like faithful Job? 13:33 That is so good. 13:36 Well, boys and girls, we're so glad you've joined us. 13:39 Remember to search the scriptures 13:42 and find the gems that God has for you. |
