00:24 Hello, boys and girls
00:26 and welcome Kids Camp, Creation Crafts. 00:29 We're so excited you're joining us. 00:31 Are you ready for some crafting? 00:32 We sure are. 00:34 We're your hosts, I'm Miss Suzi. 00:36 And I'm Mr. Ryan, and we're glad that 00:37 you've joined us 00:39 and we have all these red coded people here. 00:42 Are you guys ready to help make some crafts? 00:43 Yes! 00:45 Wow! I think they're ready. 00:47 You guys sound a little rowdy here, 00:48 we should get some people to help us. 00:50 We've got some referees. 00:52 Thank you ladies for helping us. 00:53 Now run around the microphone and help us out. 00:56 We really appreciate that. 00:58 Wow, we've got a fun craft for you today. 01:00 We're gonna use all our crafting supplies. 01:03 Miss Suzi, what are we gonna make today? 01:04 Sure, we're gonna be making a heart handprint tree 01:08 that states that God is love. 01:11 Today we like to put a scripture 01:14 with our craft as well. 01:15 Mr. Ryan, what is our Bible verse for today? 01:18 Yeah, this is a very popular Bible verse that goes with 01:21 and where we find this definition that God is love. 01:24 It's found in 1 John 4:8, and it starts like this, 01:29 "The person who does not love does not know God." 01:33 So you have to love to know God and then it says, 01:36 "Because God is love." 01:40 1 John 4:8, 01:41 so that's where we find our verse. 01:43 And this craft, we can put it up 01:44 in our rooms or our house 01:46 and remind us of that verse, 1 John 4:8. 01:48 That's right. 01:50 Okay, it looks like there's a lot of parts to this, 01:52 lot of steps, I see a lot of tools out. 01:54 I think we're gonna need 01:56 a lot of instruction from Miss Suzi, are you ready? 01:58 That's all right, I'm ready. 01:59 Are you kids ready for some crafting fun? 02:01 Yeah! 02:03 All right. Let's do this. 02:04 Let's get started. 02:05 This is crafting full throttle here. 02:08 We have all sorts of stuff. 02:09 We have liquid glue and staples, 02:12 we have glue sticks, 02:13 and scissors, and pencils, and markers. 02:15 So we're using a whole lot of stuff right here 02:17 for our craft today. 02:19 All right, our first step is gonna be to trace 02:22 not only our hand 02:24 but we also want to trace part of our arm. 02:26 This is gonna be the tree. 02:29 So we wanna make sure we get part of that arm, 02:31 and that's gonna be the tree trunk 02:33 and then our fingertips will be the branches, 02:34 so go ahead and put your hand 02:36 and part of your arm on the brown piece of paper 02:40 and trace it and then we will cut it out. 02:45 Yep, your whole hand and part of your arm. 02:50 And we're just gonna trace around. 02:55 Remember, this is gonna make 02:57 our tree trunk and our branches. 03:00 Don't forget to leave some room to put some leaves up there. 03:04 That's right. 03:06 All right, so once you get your hand 03:08 and part of your arm drawn on that, 03:10 we're gonna use our scissors. 03:12 Now remember, we need to use scissors 03:14 safety as well, okay. 03:15 They can be sharp, we wanna make sure 03:17 never to point them to people 03:19 and we wanna make sure that when we cut, 03:20 we keep our fingers away from the scissor blades. 03:24 All right, so once you have your hand drawn, 03:26 go ahead and cut it out... 03:31 just like so. 03:32 Oh, you guys are doing good, let's get those scissors out 03:34 and start cutting away. 03:43 Good job, boys and girls, did you guys 03:44 all pass the scissor training safety course? 03:47 I teach it. Yes! 03:48 Oh, you teach it. Wow! 03:50 That's great. 03:51 You guys are doing good. Wow! 03:54 This is some nice construction paper. 03:56 Always good to give it a little strength 03:58 to your craft, instead of just using regular, 04:00 old copy paper. 04:01 Good, old construction paper, you can different colors. 04:05 Does anyone know where you get paper from? 04:08 Where does paper come from? Trees. 04:10 Trees, that's exactly right, 04:13 and that's where we get a lot of our white paper. 04:15 Now where do you get red paper from? 04:17 Does anybody know? Trees. 04:21 Is it any type of tree? A cherry tree. 04:24 Maple tree? 04:25 How about a red tree or a redwood. 04:29 No? 04:31 Well, I've been working on some tree jokes 04:32 but I guess I better leaf those alone. 04:38 But I've been branching out into some new ones. 04:42 Stick around, I've got a few more 04:44 and we'll get to the root of those jokes, okay. 04:48 All right, you know, you can only do these dad jokes 04:50 when you're all grown up, okay. 04:55 All right, you guys are doing great 04:57 cutting out your hands here. 04:59 All right. 05:00 How are we doing over here, Charlie? 05:02 Good. All right. 05:03 Now you don't have to worry about 05:04 getting it super perfect 05:06 because we will be covering it with some of our hearts, okay. 05:10 All right. 05:11 Just wanna make sure 05:12 we get our fingers cut out for our branches. 05:14 We got some really handy kids around here. 05:15 That's right, they're doing a great job. 05:17 Can't help it. Here we go, all right. 05:22 Now our next step, once you have your hand cut out 05:25 and part of your arm, 05:27 we're actually gonna stick it here in the middle of our paper 05:32 and we're gonna take our glue stick 05:34 and we're gonna glue it to our blue card stock. 05:39 All right. 05:41 So go ahead and get your glue sticks out 05:43 and you can rub it all over your handprint. 05:47 Need a hand? Yeah, need a hand. 05:50 Oh, yeah, like this. 05:53 All right. 05:55 We've got some good cutters here. 06:00 Yeah, he's very handy, that's awesome. 06:03 Okay, you can start putting the glue stick on there 06:05 and glue it down. 06:07 Wait, I glue it right here? 06:08 Yep, glue it on to the blue piece of paper. 06:10 Yeah, just use your glue stick, you can smear it all over 06:13 and then place it down on your blue card stock, 06:16 so we end up with this so far. 06:19 I can take some of that. 06:21 Boy, there's gonna be a lot of directions, 06:23 Miss Suzi, I wonder, are they going to have 06:25 to memorize all these things. 06:27 You won't have to memorize it actually, 06:29 you can go to our website, 3abnkidscamp.tv. 06:34 You can find all the supplies and the instructions there. 06:37 Okay, our next step is to take your 06:39 green construction paper 06:41 and we're gonna make the grass. 06:43 So all you have to do is make some cuts. 06:44 You can make it wavy, really any way 06:47 you want your grass to look. 06:48 So we're gonna use our scissors and we're just gonna kinda cut 06:51 some little hills, little blades of grass. 06:55 Anyway you want it, that's fine. 06:58 Very good. 06:59 Did you guys hear that, the next thing. 07:01 What's after the... 07:02 What's after the brown tree trunk? 07:04 What're you doing next? Grass. 07:06 Grass, all right. Grass, all right. 07:08 So this green grass is going to remind us 07:10 of summertime. 07:11 Early in the summer. 07:14 Yep, let's cut out some wavy grass lines in there. 07:17 Okay. 07:19 Yeah, you can just sort of freehand it if you want. 07:21 Yeah, you can just use your scissors 07:22 and go along, you can make it wavy 07:24 just like this 07:25 or you can make them pointed to look more like grass. 07:28 It doesn't really matter. 07:30 All right, so once you have 07:31 your green strip cut, your grass, 07:33 we're also gonna put our glue on that, 07:38 and we're just gonna give it 07:39 a good coating all the way around. 07:44 Well, does anyone do 07:46 any mowing of their grass at home? 07:47 Does anyone help out there? I do. 07:49 You do. Oh, all right. 07:53 And then once we have our glue smeared on, 07:55 we're gonna put it 07:56 at the bottom of our blue card stock, 07:59 and it's gonna cover a little bit of the arm part, 08:02 which is the trunk of the tree. 08:06 Very good. 08:09 I'm seeing some good cuttings and grass here. 08:13 Yep, if you have some extra, 08:14 you can just leave it underneath the table here. 08:16 That's right. 08:17 Yep, that looks great, glue it on. 08:19 Oh, that looks like real grass. I'd say kudos, great job. 08:21 Wow, that's really cool. 08:23 Okay, I see a number of our kids have our grass on. 08:26 Okay, the next step is gonna be to make our hearts. 08:29 The hearts are the leaves. 08:31 So what I want you to do. 08:33 We're gonna take our pink strips of paper. 08:37 These are half inch by six inches, 08:40 sorry, actually half inch by seven inch. 08:42 I went a little taller because it's easier to staple 08:45 than when they're a little bit longer. 08:47 So what we're gonna do is we're gonna take 08:48 our pink strips 08:50 and we're gonna fold them in half 08:52 and make a good crease at the bottom. 08:56 We're just gonna crease it real good. 08:59 Then we're going to open it up 09:01 and we're gonna have our ends touch 09:03 and then fold in just like this. 09:08 And then we're gonna kind of pull that out 09:10 so that we can staple it. 09:11 You wanna put the staple right on the end. 09:14 If you do it too high, the heart is a little misshapen 09:17 so we want to do it right there on the end. 09:20 We're gonna take our staple and staple it. 09:25 Sure, I would love to help you. 09:27 And we'll have a heart that will look something like this. 09:30 Good job. Sure, Charlie, let's help you. 09:32 Oh, there's a good heart. Oh, you had it. 09:35 Miss Suzi, how are we going to put these hearts down 09:37 onto the tree? 09:38 Okay, so once you have your heart made, 09:39 you wanna grab. 09:41 Oh, here's your stapler. It's all right. 09:42 Once you have your heart made, 09:45 you're going to just kind of rub it in your glue. 09:47 We have a plate full of White School Glue. 09:51 Yep, just dip it in. There you go. 09:53 Just like that. Very good, Charlie. 09:55 If they can get some glue on the bottom. 09:56 Yep, you're just gonna kinda dab it in there. 09:58 Get a good coating of some glue 10:00 and then you're gonna stick it on the branches 10:03 or your fingertips which are the branches, 10:06 just like this, and you can put them 10:07 any direction you would like. 10:11 In fact, it actually looks better 10:12 if you mix it up. 10:14 That's right. 10:16 So we're gonna take our hearts 10:17 Yep, you gonna dip it in the glue, 10:18 just put a little bit on the edges. 10:20 Dip them in the glue. Perfect, good job. 10:22 And then we're gonna just stick them 10:24 all over our paper. 10:25 And I'm gonna turn this 10:27 so you boys and girls can see at home. 10:29 Man, I see some good artistry going on. 10:32 Branches, grass, now we're getting 10:34 in these heart shaped leaves here. 10:35 That's right. Very good. 10:39 All right, this is fun, get to use all the tools 10:41 and the crafting toolbox. 10:43 That's right. Lots of glue. 10:45 So we're gonna just rub it in a little bit, 10:48 get a good little coating on the bottom of it, 10:50 just like this. 10:52 So do you guys like making a mess? 10:54 Yeah. Oh, okay. 10:57 You know, I don't mind making a mess. 10:58 I think it's great 10:59 when we make a mess when we craft. 11:01 What should we do when we're done now? 11:03 Wash your hands. That's right. 11:04 Just wash your hands. 11:06 Okay, you can leave the mess there, right? 11:07 How about we clean up the mess and then we go wash our hands. 11:10 Those are both great things. 11:11 It's always a good idea to clean up after ourselves, 11:14 right kids? 11:15 Yes! Yes. 11:16 Just remember that when you go to college. 11:19 Your college teachers 11:20 are gonna want you to do that too. 11:23 All right, is there any questions? 11:24 You guys are doing great. 11:26 Get some of those hearts on there. 11:29 All right. 11:32 You guys are doing great 11:33 with all this gluing and cutting. 11:35 Lots of hearts up here that you can grab. 11:38 There you go, good job. Just put some glue there. 11:40 Wanna start putting some more hearts on. 11:43 We gotta start dipping those guys. 11:46 Wow. 11:51 Very nice. 11:53 So this will remind you that God is love, 11:55 that was our verse. 11:57 And love isn't always just hearts 11:59 and rainbows and things. 12:00 And sometimes it means we, when we love people we, 12:03 when parents love their kids, 12:04 we might have to correct them and... 12:06 But we didn't know how to put that into leaves 12:08 so the hearts are what we're gonna do, 12:10 but know that sometimes when your parents love you, 12:13 they'll have to give you some correction 12:15 and so maybe, maybe we can fill in those hearts 12:17 with some of the things that God 12:20 shows His love to us. 12:22 That's right. 12:23 So that's very important to learn here. 12:24 That's okay. All right. 12:26 What's next after we do some hearts, Miss Suzi? 12:28 Hey, just stick it back in there. 12:30 All right. 12:31 Well, once you get 12:32 all of your hearts on your tree, 12:35 we want you to take your marker 12:37 and we're gonna write 'God is love'. 12:39 And that is our reminder that God does love us. 12:44 Yeah, if you guys wanna write the Bible verse on there, 12:48 that was 1 John 4:8. 12:50 That is an excellent idea. 12:54 That way we know it's right from the Bible. 12:56 We'll have our reminder up. 12:58 Take this home, put it in your bedroom. 13:02 Put in your brother or sister's bedroom, 13:03 maybe you need to remind them. 13:05 Could you repeat that Bible verse on more time? 13:07 Sure, 1 John 4:8. 13:10 4:8. 13:11 1 John. 1 John. 13:13 4:8. 4:8. 13:15 You guys can write that on your craft 13:16 and that'll be a reminder that's all around us here. 13:20 Wow! 13:21 Man, when you're crafting, 13:22 the time just kinda goes along very fast. 13:24 Yeah, I know, it does. 13:26 We get to learn 13:27 how to use some tools and share. 13:28 Man, crafting is a lot of fun. 13:31 Are we having fun yet, kids? 13:33 Yeah! All right. 13:34 All right, this is a really fun project, isn't it? 13:37 I love to see all the original creations. 13:39 Everybody does something just a little bit different 13:41 with the directions. 13:43 Awesome. Very nice. 13:47 Okay, you guys are doing great. 13:49 This craft is coming to a nice completion here. 13:52 Yes. 13:53 We are just about finished up here. 13:57 All right. 13:58 Well, I think that's all the time 14:00 we have here today. 14:01 Thank you for joining us on Creation Crafts, 14:03 where Scripture inspires creativity. 14:08 All right, let's get a few more hearts on there. 14:17 Well done, it looks great. 14:18 Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. |
