Yeah, let's do this. 01:55 All right. Well, Here we go. 01:57 First what we're gonna do, we have an Easter Egg. 02:00 Now there's two parts, we have a rounded end 02:02 and we have a pointed end, okay? 02:04 We're gonna actually deal 02:05 with the pointed end first, okay? 02:07 Everybody hold up your pointed end 02:09 so we can see that there. 02:10 There you go, this is gonna be the abdomen of the firefly, 02:13 where we will attach the legs and the wings. 02:17 Now today, we're also gonna be handling hot glue guns. 02:20 Now you want to be extra careful around these 02:22 because they can burn you. 02:24 The tips are hot and the glue is hot. 02:26 So please be very careful. 02:28 All right, go ahead and set the, 02:31 this part down in front of you. 02:33 Now we're gonna make the legs, okay? 02:36 Now what we wanna do is we wanna bend the end 02:38 of the legs in opposite directions. 02:41 Just like this so it makes kind of like a 'Z'. 02:44 Yep, go one forward and one the other way, 02:46 there you go. 02:48 And we're gonna do that 02:49 five more times actually so we'll have six total. 02:53 Just like that. 02:54 Is that just the little tip at the end? 02:56 Just the little tip at the end. 02:57 These will be our feet 02:59 and the attachment point to the egg. 03:02 Okay, just like that. Oh, perfect. 03:03 I have three. Yeah, good job. 03:04 That's right. All right, let's keep going. 03:07 We need six total. I have three. 03:10 How many legs does a firefly have? 03:13 Six. Six. 03:14 That's right. 03:15 A firefly is called an insect and they have six legs. 03:20 Okay. 03:22 Wow, you guys are making some great legs. 03:25 All right, once you have all of your legs made, 03:29 go ahead and pick up that pointed end of your egg. 03:33 One more. 03:35 All right, you're doing one more, huh? 03:36 All right, how's everybody else doing. 03:38 Do we have all our eggs, legs made? 03:39 Yeah. Ready. 03:41 Good. Okay. 03:42 All right, so pick up your pointed tip, 03:43 end of the egg and you're gonna go ahead 03:46 and put down three dots of glue 03:50 in a row or you can do one at a time. 03:52 If you're not real quick with it, 03:53 you might wanna do one at a time. 03:55 That way the glue doesn't harden. 03:56 And we're gonna attach the leg, 03:59 in each one of the spots. 04:02 Very good, yeah. 04:03 Put a dab of glue and then hurry up 04:05 and put the leg on. 04:06 Right here, you're gonna make three dabs of glue 04:08 and then you're gonna place your legs on it just like that. 04:15 Very good, yep, make them face end. 04:18 Make that, make that point face end. 04:19 Here you go. You're gonna do three of those. 04:24 Okay, just be careful you don't touch the glue 04:26 because that may burn you, okay? 04:30 Okay, now put another one there. 04:33 Oh, we don't want it to dry, 04:34 so you got to put the glue on real quick, kids, 04:36 and get your leg on there. 04:37 Just like that. There you go. 04:38 And you're gonna do three in a row. 04:40 Oh, yeah. You're right. 04:41 There you go. Yeah, just like that. 04:42 Yes I'm gonna help you. Do you put it on like this? 04:44 We're gonna put a dab of glue. Go and stick it in there. 04:46 And put the little pointed end facing inward. 04:48 There you go. 04:49 And then you're gonna do two more like this, 04:51 just like that, okay? 04:55 Great job. 04:56 Boy, this is kind of hard building a firefly. 04:58 Wonder how God made the real firefly. 05:00 Yes, exactly. Wow. 05:02 All right. 05:03 Now once you get your three legs on, 05:05 we're gonna do it again on the other side 05:08 so that way we can complete his six legs. 05:10 Here let me help you here real quick. 05:12 We're gonna make these go in just like that. 05:15 That can be your other leg. I'll tell you what? 05:18 Let's do one right here, just like that, 05:20 and we're gonna point this inward, 05:22 just like that. 05:23 And then do one more right there. 05:25 Okay, we're gonna do the same thing on the other side. 05:26 You ready? 05:27 Can you do one more right there? 05:29 Okay, once you get your three on, 05:30 we're gonna go ahead 05:32 and we're gonna do the other side. 05:35 We're sharing a glue gun here 05:37 so I'm gonna put three more dots of glue. 05:42 I'll help you in just a second. Oh, my glue. 05:45 That's okay, there's gonna be a lot of strings 05:47 that come off and that's okay. 05:49 We'll pull them all off at the end. 05:53 Great. Okay, we can always bend them. 05:55 If you don't like the way they are, 05:57 we can always bend them later on after the glue dries. 06:00 Okay, so now you'll end up with something that 06:02 looks a little like this. 06:04 We're gonna wait just a second for that to dry. 06:08 Okay, can we help you here, let's see. 06:10 All right, let's go ahead and put one more right here, 06:13 just like that. 06:14 And I'm gonna put a dab of glue right here 06:16 and go ahead and put your other one on. 06:21 Good job. Yeah, that's great. 06:24 Just like that, 06:26 and we're gonna add one more right here, 06:27 so you can get your six legs on. 06:30 And go ahead and bend that end. 06:31 There you go. 06:33 So how many legs does an insect have? 06:35 Six, Very good. 06:37 So how many legs does a spider have. 06:39 Eight. Eight. 06:41 Eight. So is it an insect? 06:42 No. 06:44 Well, they sure bug me. 06:47 What? No. 06:49 Oh, do they Arachnid you. Oh I don't know what that is. 06:52 What's next, Miss Suzi, what're we doing next? 06:53 All right. 06:54 The next step is we're now 06:56 going to take the rounded part of the egg 06:58 and that is gonna be his face. 07:00 We're gonna go ahead and put the eyes on. 07:01 So we're gonna put two dots right 07:05 where you want the eyes, kind of, just above center. 07:08 Oh, those are your eyes, I'll leave those for you. 07:11 And we're gonna go ahead and place 07:13 the eyes on our firefly, just like that. 07:20 I love googly eyes. 07:22 They're so good for many things. 07:24 You guys are doing great here. 07:28 You know you're crafting when you're putting 07:30 googly eyes on something. 07:31 Yes, exactly. Yeah. 07:34 Great job, you guys are doing wonderful. 07:36 It's all right. We'll go ahead. 07:38 Oop, I dropped that one. 07:40 Okay, now once you get your eyes on you 07:42 can go ahead and draw a mouth if you'd like. 07:47 Okay, we're gonna draw a mouth, you guys. 07:49 Draw a mouth right below those eyes. 07:52 Take care with sharpie. 07:54 Draw a little mouth. Hey, just like that. 07:59 And hopefully, it's a happy firefly. 08:01 That's right, mine's a happy firefly. 08:03 I like happy fireflies. 08:04 Wait a second, is it firefly or lightning bug? 08:07 Lighting bug. 08:08 Oh, how many people think it's lightning bug? 08:11 Firefly. Okay. 08:13 And how many people think it's firefly? 08:15 Okay. You think it's both. 08:17 I think it's both too. 08:19 Maybe it depends on 08:21 what part of the country you're in. 08:22 What we got next, Miss Suzi? All right, so next, let's see, 08:26 we have our eyes, we have our mouth on it. 08:28 Now right above the eyes, 08:29 we're gonna put two more dots of glue 08:32 and this will be the attachment points for our antennae. 08:34 So go ahead and take one of your pipe cleaners 08:37 and bend the end just like we did with the legs. 08:39 You only need to bend one end though. 08:42 Okay, so we'll get something like the number seven. 08:44 Yes. 08:46 Okay, just bend one and then that will be 08:48 your attachment point for the antennae. 08:53 All right, so on. 08:54 Okay, you wanna go ahead and do yours? 08:55 So just put two dots right on top of the head. 08:58 Good job. Good job. 09:02 There you go. All right. 09:04 And I'll go ahead and use it too. 09:06 Okay, we'll go ahead and put our two dots. 09:09 Yes, that, that part that's notch, 09:11 you're gonna just set that. The part that's bent? 09:13 Yeah, the part that's bent. Oh, yeah, here you go. 09:15 You got to kind of put that on there. 09:17 That bugs coming together, how about your bug? 09:22 Wonderful. Yep, okay. 09:26 Boy, there's a lot more than glue and pipe cleaners 09:29 holding you guys together. 09:30 That is correct. And the real fireflies. 09:33 All right, now once you get your two antennae on the top, 09:36 what you can do is go ahead and curl them forward. 09:39 You can go as far as you want. 09:43 Just like this. 09:44 I'm making a lighting bee.. 09:46 Sure, I can help you. I'd love to. 09:47 Oh, let's go forward. 09:49 Let's do it this way. 09:52 There you go. 09:54 I'm making a lighting bee. 09:56 Oh, that's an interesting creation, 09:59 I love it. 10:01 Way to get creative. Okay. 10:04 Inside the little pipe cleaners are bendable metals. 10:06 So you can always bend it, 10:08 if you didn't get it quite in the right spot. 10:09 You can bend it and fix it the way you like it. 10:13 That is cute. 10:14 Now we need to go ahead and we need to make the wings. 10:17 So what we're gonna do is we're gonna take 10:20 this little grey piece of paper that we have 10:22 and we're gonna go ahead 10:24 and fold it in half, just like this. 10:29 Just following directions. 10:30 Okay, you're gonna want to take your grey paper 10:32 and fold it in half so we can make the wings, okay. 10:36 Yeah, just like that, so he's got a little mouth. 10:38 That's very right. 10:40 Okay, now what we're gonna do is we're gonna draw a little. 10:43 These are gonna be the wings, okay. 10:45 So we're gonna draw just a little, 10:46 almost a complete circle off the crease. 10:49 Okay, and then we're gonna cut that out. 10:52 You can make it as big or as small as you want 10:55 so you'll end up with something like this. 11:00 Okay, can everybody see that? 11:02 You're gonna end up with something like this. 11:05 And go ahead and cut that out. 11:07 Nope, we're gonna get started until you're off the crease. 11:09 But you wanna make sure that you don't cut the crease, okay, 11:11 because we're gonna open it all the way up. 11:13 And that will be our attachment point 11:15 for onto the body. 11:18 So you want it decorating, just do it from the outside. 11:20 Just draw like that. 11:21 Okay, yep, you're gonna fold it just like that. 11:23 Great, there you go, you got some wings. 11:25 Hey, let's go ahead, do you wanna draw? 11:27 Yeah. Do you wanna draw it first? 11:28 We're gonna end up gluing those on the back there. 11:29 Yeah, let's draw it first. Let me see yours. 11:31 Yeah, that will work great. 11:33 So we're gonna draw a big circle like that 11:35 and then you can cut that out. 11:38 Great job. 11:39 All right, so when we open it up, 11:40 we'll have something like this. 11:42 And how they're doing down here? 11:43 And these will be the wings. Where's the crescent? 11:49 Hey, how are you going back there? 11:51 Are we getting our wings cut out? 11:53 Oh, wow, I see some nice wings here. 11:55 All right. There you go. 11:57 Okay, who has your wings cut out, 11:58 let's hold them up. 12:00 Let's see those wings. 12:01 Hold up your wings if you got them? 12:03 All right. 12:04 Yeah, almost got them all cut out. 12:06 All right, good job. 12:08 How are we gonna get these wings on to the body? 12:10 All right. That's a very good question. 12:13 We are gonna use hot glue again. 12:15 So we're gonna take the pointed end 12:17 that has our legs and we're gonna go ahead 12:20 and just put a little line going down the back of glue, 12:24 just like this, and we're going to attach 12:28 the paper onto it, just like that. 12:34 Oh, wonderful. 12:36 This guy's gonna be a high flyer. 12:39 Like yours is gonna have a little trouble flying. 12:42 It's got those little wings. It's kind of like a bumblebee. 12:45 All right, that's fine. All right, are you ready? 12:46 Oh, you got some glue on there, great job. 12:48 Now after you have your wings on, 12:50 you can select a different color of paper. 12:52 This is gonna be the second wing, okay? 12:55 We're gonna go and do the same thing. 12:56 We're gonna fold it and this time 12:59 you won't have to use your pencil and draw it. 13:00 We'll just cut it, you can make it a little bit 13:02 smaller than your grey wings, okay? 13:05 Unless you have some really small wings 13:06 and then you may have to cut it a little bigger. 13:07 And then you may have to cut it 13:09 a little bigger and that's okay. 13:10 So we have a second set of wings just like this, 13:14 and we're gonna do the same thing. 13:16 On top of our grey wings, 13:18 we're gonna put another line of glue 13:21 and we will attach our colored tissue paper 13:25 just like this. 13:27 Yep, exactly. 13:28 Very good, Nathan, 13:29 we're gonna put a line right down there. 13:31 And go ahead and attach your wings. 13:33 Very good, yeah. Just like this. 13:35 Wow, these crafts go so fast. 13:40 Are you guys having fun? 13:41 Yes. Yes. 13:43 All right. Okay, all right. 13:44 The last important thing we want to do 13:46 is we want to turn on 13:48 our vote of light just like this. 13:51 You stick it in the pointed end and close it up. 13:55 And there you have it, we have our firefly. 13:58 That's all the time we have today. 14:00 Thank you for joining us at Creation Crafts 14:02 where scripture inspires creativity. 14:05 Ooh, we can play with it. 14:09 You guys gonna come up with names for your fireflies? |
