00:01 So if you just joined us on Cook:30 for Kids,
00:03 we are cooking up a storm in the kitchen. 00:07 We have Shai and Amari from Georgia. 00:09 What's on the menu today, guys? 00:12 Macadamia and cranberry toasted granola 00:15 with homemade almond milk. 00:17 And wild berries with maple yogurt. 00:21 We're making awesome progress. 00:24 So, what we need to do now is make this yogurt 00:26 so, I'm just gonna, if you gonna silken... 00:28 There we go, silken tofu. 00:30 So we gonna make yogurt out of tofu. 00:31 And before you turn away and think 00:33 this is gonna taste disgusting 00:35 'cause you know, you don't think tofu... 00:37 You know, this tastes really yummy. 00:38 So we got silken tofu. 00:40 So I'm just gonna... 00:42 It comes from super market like this, silken tofu, 00:43 it's really smooth one. 00:45 just gonna open the bottom, it comes with water, 00:46 so you want to empty that into the sink 00:48 or else we'll have water going everywhere, 00:51 and there should be another blender jug down here. 00:53 So we don't have to wash it. 00:56 Let move this one here out the way. 00:58 And we're just gonna again add stuff 01:00 to a blender and blend it up. 01:02 So because it's maple yogurt, 01:03 we gonna add maple syrup as the sweetener. 01:06 So if you can, Amari, pour that in the blender, 01:09 we want one tablespoon. 01:10 Yep, so pour it. 01:12 Yep, that's perfect, stop, perfect, brilliant. 01:15 So, you can use measuring spoons 01:16 if you want to be, 01:18 you kind of get used to things after a while. 01:19 And if you want to open up that pack, 01:20 just kind of rip it off with your hands. 01:23 We'll use the knife I think, I'll get that. 01:27 And just pour that silken tofu into the blender. 01:31 You know, I made a chocolate mousse 01:34 with silken tofu. 01:35 Oh, really? And that was actually really delicious. 01:38 First, I was doubting a little bit 'cause it was tofu 01:42 and I didn't think it would go well 01:43 with the chocolate 01:45 'cause tofu is usually savory, and it's actually really cool. 01:50 But tofu is a really good universal protein source 01:52 to you, that's variously... 01:53 Gonna put one ripe banana, so Amari, if you can unpeel, 01:56 peel that and put it in as well. 01:58 We will put some lemon juice in. 02:00 We want four tablespoons, if you can half that lemon. 02:02 Do we cut the banana? 02:03 No, just put the banana in as it is. 02:06 Okay. 02:07 Look at this great mess we created on the bench. 02:09 We know we're cooking when the bench looks like this. 02:12 Squeeze it in. Great. 02:15 Awesome. So you squeeze those in. 02:16 And what you do, put your, squeeze it through your fingers 02:18 so you can catch the pips so, 02:20 that's actually quite tough lemons. 02:22 I might have to give you a hand with that. 02:23 So put your hands there, 02:25 I'll squeeze it through your fingers. 02:26 There you go. 02:27 There is only one part of the banana. 02:29 I'll squeeze it through there and while the pips. 02:31 Oops, put in the blender not in the hands. 02:34 There you go, I'll do another one. 02:36 That's probably about two tablespoons. 02:38 Oop, oop, we're going everywhere 02:39 with the stuff flying around in the kitchen. 02:42 These are really tough. 02:44 You can use a lemon squeezer, 02:45 but it's more fun to do it this way. 02:47 You get soft lemons if you want. 02:48 So just kind of let your fingers open a little bit 02:50 and it should drip out. 02:52 Brilliant, put it way. Perfect. 02:53 And you're done. 02:55 We're just gonna add just a touch of salt, 02:57 just a little wee bit. 02:58 It just kind of adds a bit of all round 03:00 kind of brings this recipe together. 03:02 So, what do you do now? 03:04 Blend this. Yes. 03:06 Gonna put that on the blender there. 03:08 Put the lid on. Awesome. 03:10 And yep, hit the high button and go for it. 03:15 If you can go to the refrigerator 03:16 and get some berries, 03:18 we could have some blueberries, some strawberries 03:19 and some raspberry, you can find those. 03:23 I'll get a nice platter 03:26 'cause presentation is everything. 03:30 How's it looking? 03:32 It's probably done there, you can stop it. 03:36 So, there we go, and there we have a very nice yogurt. 03:42 So we'll try this again. 03:43 I'll get a new spoon for you guys. 03:44 Let me try and see what it's like. 03:46 Whoa. 03:48 Awesome. I'm sorry, get the fresh ones. 03:50 Oh, okay. 03:52 There's frozen and fresh, we need fresh berries today, 03:54 but frozen berries are awesome to use 03:56 when you don't have fresh ones around, so dip it in. 04:06 What do you think? It's pretty good, isn't it? 04:07 Good. This yogurt is made of tofu. 04:10 Yeah try some of this. 04:12 Oop, sorry. 04:15 Is it yummy? That is good. 04:17 So we're gonna present it here and we're just gonna put this, 04:20 put this in this platter. 04:21 We're just gonna pour it in like that. 04:23 Oh, wow! 04:26 Didn't think I was gonna do that, did you? 04:27 And now we're just gonna sprinkle some berries on top. 04:30 So when you sprinkle stuff, 04:31 we just wanna put it evenly across it. 04:33 So just, you can put some raspberries on. 04:35 Running out of room here, we're having so much fun. 04:37 We've got not much space here, so put it on there. 04:40 So if you can sprinkle probably 04:42 half of those raspberries on there. 04:43 Look for any that don't look good. 04:44 There's couple there that aren't, looking flat. 04:46 Yes. 04:47 Yep, just sprinkle them, I'll let them fall. 04:49 Yep, brilliant. Don't drop them. 04:51 Drop them a little bit lower so they don't sink down too much. 04:53 They kind of just land on there. 04:54 If you go from a height, they wanna go down 04:56 and submerge and become divers. 04:59 And if you can pour some blueberries on here. 05:03 And, Shai, that would be great. All right. 05:05 Now, just chop some strawberries up as well. 05:08 So as you can see these lovely, lots of colors going on here. 05:12 I'll just cut them over in this little corner of the board 05:14 that isn't covered in the stuff we've been doing. 05:21 So, it's great. 05:22 And where's my strawberries gone? 05:24 Here they are, thank you. 05:27 As you can see just a little bit of fresh fruit 05:28 looks great. 05:33 It's lovely fruit. 05:34 Can you find some more nice strawberries in that pack 05:36 for me, Amari? 05:37 Yeah. That'll be great, a couple more. 05:39 And if you can grab the mint out of the refrigerator, Shai, 05:42 that'd be awesome. 05:44 Can you get the lid open? Yep, getting there. 05:47 There you go. 05:49 Find a nice one, probably need one more I think. 05:52 Awesome. 05:53 Let's give it a bit of chop up, brilliant. 05:57 See that lovely yogurt, 06:00 we're just laying it out like that. 06:01 We might need couple more raspberries 06:02 just to kind of make it look amazing. 06:07 Just spread around. Set like you wanna eat it? 06:09 Yes. 06:11 Couple of more blueberries. 06:13 Don't want to go, I'm gonna do those, 06:14 just drop them around there and to finish it. 06:17 So, we can do a parfait with this? 06:18 You could do a parfait. 06:20 Yep, you could do, it will be a great parfait. 06:22 We just gonna put a few sprigs of mint on it. 06:24 You want to pick a few off as well. 06:25 Just pick them off of the tip 06:27 and just kind of scatter them around. 06:30 It's great. So mint's a lovely. 06:31 Oh, it smells amazing. 06:33 And I'll try and put it the other way. 06:35 So you put it the wrong way up, 06:36 it'll always looks better from the other way. 06:37 So when you put it on, put them so they're like. 06:40 You can make toothpaste out of this? 06:42 Yes, you can make. Yes, toothpaste, you're right. 06:44 You can make toothpaste out of mint. 06:45 Haven't don't it, have you made it? 06:47 Nah, I've never done it before. 06:51 It's an awesome idea and that's probably about right, 06:53 so just that little balance, just a few leaves, 06:55 nothing too overdone 06:56 but just that little bit of a green, 06:58 you can just see absolutely transforms that. 07:01 So we've got the almond milk done, 07:02 and we've got the yogurt done. 07:05 And as you can see the almond milk 07:07 is kind of separating a bit, 07:08 so you just need to give it a stir, 07:09 that's the only drawback 07:11 but I mean how hard is it to stir some almond milk. 07:14 Not very hard really. 07:15 Okay, what do we have to do now? 07:18 The granola? 07:20 Yeah, we better check the oven, haven't we? 07:21 Whoa! Have a little check here. 07:24 Look at this. Oh, can you smell it? 07:27 Hmm, that looks delicious. 07:29 So here we go. 07:31 Got no room left on the counter, 07:32 we'll put it on the, over here on the stove top. 07:35 I'm gonna move these things away so you all can see. 07:37 As you can see that just looks, it smells amazing. 07:41 As you can see it's slightly toasted here. 07:43 It hasn't stuck 'cause we got a little bit of oil in there. 07:46 So this is actually fine, those of you 07:47 who want it a little bit more toasted, 07:49 you could probably cook it for another 5 or 10 minutes. 07:52 But it's slightly brown and you can just smell those nuts. 07:56 Yes. They're really awesome. 07:59 So we're just gonna add some fruit there to finish it off. 08:01 So I'm just gonna sprinkle in some cranberries 08:03 which is the feature ingredient... 08:05 That smells amazing. 08:08 So we'll put some cranberries in like that. 08:10 Here we go. 08:11 And we'll put a few raisins in as well. 08:14 We just made our own cereal. We did. 08:16 I'm so excited. 08:17 So I put more cranberries and the raisins and we'll... 08:21 Nothing cross it, enough it is. 08:23 Put apricots and other things as well. 08:25 And there you have, your very own breakfast cereal. 08:28 So, we'd have a good clean up here, 08:30 and we'll see you guys after the break. |
