00:01 If you've just joined us on Cook:30 for Kids,
00:04 we're having a lot of fun in the kitchen.
00:06 We have Shai from Georgia and Jonathan from Michigan.
00:09 What's on the menu today, guys?
00:12 Well, zucchini noodles with red pepper
00:15 and almond sauce, yum.
00:18 And we have sweet, messy wild berry dessert.
00:23 That sounds delicious.
00:26 All righty, let's get back into it.
00:27 I just love these noodles here.
00:29 I mean, look at these things, aren't they great?
00:30 I mean, look, you got to pick them up.
00:32 And look at that.
00:34 Look how beautiful and just lovely they are.
00:36 It's kind of good to let the gravity fall on things.
00:39 They are going to taste amazing.
00:40 So try and arrange some of the dark green stuff
00:42 as near the top 'cause that looks the best.
00:46 So we've got our sauce done. We've got the noodles done.
00:49 We just need to do the dessert.
00:51 So this is going to be a really fun dessert.
00:53 So, Shai, if you can grab those glasses there
00:55 with the board and bring it around?
00:56 Okay.
00:58 And if you can go, we got a fridge here.
00:59 We'll just take some berries because this is gonna,
01:02 if you gonna grab all those, grab some raspberries,
01:04 some strawberries, and some blueberries
01:05 down the bottom.
01:07 And we gonna make a really, really fun dessert.
01:10 So we're gonna start by making a cashew cream.
01:12 It's going to go over it.
01:14 So we're going to need for the cashew cream.
01:18 So, Shai, if you can measure out
01:19 one cup of cashew nuts into the blender
01:22 and I'll pour in half a cup of water,
01:25 so just pour them into there.
01:27 That's great.
01:29 I'll put in half a cup of water.
01:35 Half a cup.
01:36 Is this good? Perfect.
01:39 And just put a little bit of maple syrup in here
01:40 to sweeten it.
01:41 You can also use agave nectar.
01:43 At home we do our own maple syrup.
01:47 Really? From maple trees?
01:49 Yes. That's fantastic.
01:50 Does that taste nice? Yes.
01:52 Oh, that's great.
01:54 So we're going to put it in here
01:56 and blend it up, where's the lid?
01:57 Here it is. Found the lid, I always lose the lid.
02:00 So let's blend it up and this is lovely.
02:02 Let it blend, it goes really, really well and this is it.
02:06 And let that blend, I'm gonna like
02:07 how it's nice and creamy.
02:09 So give it a few seconds here to go nice and creamy.
02:16 And there you go. Look at that.
02:18 It's nice and you want it so it's just pourable,
02:21 so it's runny but it's not too runny.
02:23 So we kind of want like that.
02:24 So leave it in there for later.
02:27 So what we're gonna do?
02:28 We're gonna put all these berries in here.
02:29 So we're going to start off,
02:31 if you guys can just open some of these things.
02:33 You can use any, oops, we got a muddy one in there,
02:36 we'll get rid of him.
02:38 And the others looks good there.
02:40 So let's just, start putting some of this fruit into here.
02:44 And with the strawberries, Shai,
02:45 here you just chop some of the ends off.
02:47 And it's good strawberries, it's quite nice,
02:49 so use a nice strawberry.
02:51 So chop the end off and then quarter it like that.
02:56 There you go.
02:57 So if you can, we'll put some berries.
02:58 And what we'll do, we'll start with blueberries on the bottom
03:01 and if you want to start, oh, there you go, there's a knife,
03:02 want to quarter a few of those.
03:04 Any that are, looking like damaged
03:06 don't use them and throw them in there.
03:09 So grab a...
03:11 And so, in Cadillac
03:13 they have this berry picking place
03:17 where you can pick blueberries
03:19 and over by another county called,
03:24 well, near a town called McBain,
03:28 they have a place
03:31 where you can pick your own strawberries.
03:34 It's fun picking your own berries
03:35 and your own fresh fruit, isn't it?
03:37 Mm-hm.
03:38 Okay, we'll put a few more blueberries in,
03:39 so we'll put some more in.
03:42 Yep, that's great.
03:44 Give your hand there.
03:45 So you want to cluster these berries,
03:47 not have them in different kind of mixes.
03:49 And all we're gonna do is, we're gonna pour
03:50 a little bit of this over it,
03:54 little bit of this.
03:57 And then we're going to put strawberries on,
03:59 so if you're gonna put some strawberries in,
04:01 put some of the strawberries that we've done in there.
04:03 Let's line it up like that.
04:04 I'll just go to the fridge and get some cherries as well.
04:10 So I couldn't find any fresh cherries
04:11 but we've got some frozen cherries
04:13 which are really nice as well.
04:14 So we can do a combination of frozen and fresh fruit.
04:18 Sometimes when I first try something...
04:21 Yes.
04:22 Sometimes I'll be like, "I don't like it."
04:24 And then a lot of times I try it one more time
04:28 to see if it's just my taste buds or is it me.
04:31 That's great.
04:32 And I tried cherries one more time
04:35 and it was delicious.
04:36 How brilliant. That's wonderful.
04:38 So we're gonna, just grab, we're gonna do a another
04:40 little bit of cashew cream here at the top.
04:45 There we go, okay,
04:46 and now we're going to put some raspberries in.
04:47 So if you're gonna throw some raspberries in.
04:49 Put some of them in. I'll just give you a hand.
04:51 We kind of, got a clock to beat.
04:54 And we're on 30 minutes, that's all we got,
04:56 so we've got to cook fast.
04:59 Here we go.
05:01 There's a few in here that aren't that nice,
05:02 but most of them are absolutely fine.
05:05 Here we go.
05:06 Now a little bit more
05:08 and we'll put some cherries on top.
05:13 Can you also use granola for this recipe?
05:15 Actually that would be a fantastic idea.
05:17 Take some granola, sprinkle over the top
05:19 would be beautiful.
05:20 Put those amazing fresh cherries,
05:23 those in there as well.
05:25 If you're gonna grab that board over there, Shai.
05:33 Let me put some more blueberries on top as well.
05:36 Fill the glasses up.
05:38 And this mix is coming up, it's the messy part
05:40 what you'll be looking forward to.
05:42 Oops, these blueberries going everywhere.
05:44 We want to make sure we fill the glass up.
05:50 And also we're going to make a little chocolate sauce.
05:51 So we're going to use some carob powder.
05:53 Have you guys used carob powder before?
05:55 I do.
05:56 Me and my mom use it a lot.
05:57 My mom uses carob powder sometimes.
06:00 Oh, that's good.
06:01 Yes, it's a nice alternative to using cocoa.
06:03 Doesn't have any caffeine in it
06:04 and it's a much healthier option.
06:06 So what we're going to do is just put some in there
06:08 and we're going to put little bit of water in.
06:10 One of my favorite recipes that my mom makes
06:12 with carob powder is chia carob pudding.
06:17 Chia carob pudding is awesome.
06:18 That is a really lovely recipe, isn't it?
06:20 Mm-hmm. Okay.
06:22 That smells absolutely amazing. You can smell it, can't you?
06:25 Yes, so it's a little drizzle and this is just water
06:28 and carob powder just to drizzle over.
06:31 So the next part of work is really fun.
06:33 So we're going to move this out of the way.
06:35 And we're going to serve this on the board.
06:37 And basically we're gonna put these guys here like this
06:40 and we're going to put little bit
06:41 more cashew cream over here.
06:48 And then we're going to start getting really messy.
06:51 So check this out.
06:52 So we're going to put some carob over it.
06:53 But we're not just going to put it on.
06:55 We're going to drizzle it over the board as well,
06:57 over the glass,
06:59 and we're going to have so much fun.
07:00 It's going to be drizzling down.
07:03 And I'll get some honey here as well.
07:04 So if you're going to drizzle some honey over,
07:06 so when you drizzle it, try to just go back and forth.
07:08 So try and, yep.
07:10 Lovely, that's fantastic.
07:11 On the board, get lots of the board as well.
07:13 Excellent, isn't this great?
07:15 Yes. It's looking great.
07:17 Lots of spots over there and stuff.
07:21 My friend's mother gets honey from the bees.
07:24 That's great. Yeah, it's great, isn't it?
07:25 We have beehives on our...
07:28 Okay, sprinkle some nuts over it.
07:30 Make sure you sprinkle them over the...
07:32 that's probably enough there. That's excellent.
07:34 Yeah, she has like 6,000 bees.
07:37 Really? It is.
07:39 And sprinkle nuts on the board as well.
07:41 This is a messy dessert.
07:42 Don't just get it on there and try and stick
07:43 some nuts on the side of the glass as well.
07:49 How's that?
07:50 Awesome. Cool.
07:52 Yep, so there we go. And that is a messy dessert.
07:54 What do you think, guys?
07:55 I think it's very messy.
07:56 Put a bit of maple syrup on this for extra measure.
07:59 I think it's fun that
08:01 you did it from messy
08:04 also as well as doing it inside of the glass.
08:07 Exactly. And to finish off,
08:09 we're just going to put some of these cherry tomatoes
08:10 over this here like that.
08:12 Let's make it look beautiful.
08:14 And then we'll, just before we serve it,
08:15 we'll put some of the sauce over it as well
08:17 and dress it with some almonds.
08:18 How's that looking, guys? That is totally amazing.
08:20 You're looking forward to eat that?
08:21 Yes. Yes.
08:23 That looks amazing.
