00:04 Magnify the Lord 00:08 Jesus alone is worthy 00:11 Magnify Him 00:18 Hello, everyone and welcome to Magnify Him. 00:21 My name is Duawne Starling. 00:22 And I'm Yvonne Lewis. 00:24 Thank you for tuning in. 00:25 We have a special program just for you. 00:27 Yvonne, I am excited about today. 00:29 Oh, yes. 00:30 I get to speak with an anointed young woman 00:32 whose voice is truly angelic. 00:34 Her name is Marquita Richardson. 00:36 And we're also going to hear from a set of twins 00:38 with an anointed ministry, Keisha and Kwan Dukes. 00:42 So stay tuned as we lit up 00:44 the name of Jesus and magnify Him. 00:47 Magnify the Lord with me 00:50 Magnify Him 00:56 So I am sitting here 00:57 with the Dukes twins, Keisha and Kwan. 01:01 And I have to tell you, 01:04 you are just gonna be in for such a blessing. 01:07 Thank you so much for being with us. 01:08 Thank you. 01:10 Thank you for having us, the honor is ours. 01:12 So how do you all start singing? 01:16 Well, my mother used to make us sing 01:18 when we were in church 01:19 at the age of like three or four years old, 01:21 we would start singing and we didn't like it much. 01:24 But as we got older, around 13 or 14, 01:27 our friends would ask us to sing more 01:29 and we realized, okay, maybe we do 01:31 have a talent or gift for singing. 01:33 So we became more serious about it at that age. 01:36 People started hearing us 01:37 and we started to get invited to churches and we just thought 01:41 they were inviting us because we were twins. 01:43 Yeah. 01:44 And when one day we sing at school 01:46 and people started crying and we were like, 01:50 wow, this is a ministry more that-- 01:52 more than anything else. 01:54 So that's when we started taking it seriously at 14. 01:58 Wow. That is wonderful. 02:00 When you all were growing up, 02:03 did people get you confused a lot? 02:05 Yes. Yes. 02:07 We are identical twins 02:08 and we look a little bit different, 02:10 you can tell some differences now 02:11 but when we were growing up we looked more alike-- 02:15 And it didn't help them, my mother made us dress alike. 02:17 Oh. So, kind of corny but... 02:22 We got mixed up a lot. 02:23 You have an incredible testimony, both of you. 02:28 Can you share a little bit of that, 02:29 both of you with our viewers today? 02:32 Sure. 02:33 The testimony that we have part of it 02:37 is how we came to the Lord. 02:38 My mother took us to church and she made sure that 02:43 if whatever was going on in our lives 02:44 we had a pre-turbulent childhood 02:46 but she made sure that we were in church on Sundays 02:49 and that's where we started singing choirs 02:52 and things like that. 02:54 But we became ministers of music after college 02:57 and in the churches that we were a part of, 03:00 and then through that I met my husband. 03:04 We were singing somewhere and I met my husband 03:06 and he introduced us into Adventism. 03:10 And I started, I started going to church with him 03:14 and started studying. 03:15 And then my sister came along and studied with me 03:18 and she came into the church as well. 03:21 That's part of our testimony. 03:23 I love it. I love it. 03:24 Tell how you came into the church? 03:25 Well, I actually-- 03:27 when I knew my sister was in love 03:29 and studying some different teachings that we had-- 03:34 different than what we grew up, I said, 03:37 I need to give an objective ear to make sure that 03:40 she wasn't you know, being let her stray. 03:43 And-- 03:44 You were protecting her. 03:45 I was protecting her, you know and I was-- 03:47 you know, I am going to be the super studier. 03:49 But what ended up happening 03:51 is was God was just revealing to me more and more truth. 03:54 And confirming a lot of things that I had not-- 03:58 that I had ideas and thoughts about 04:01 but though His word He just began to open things up to me. 04:05 And so out of my studying 04:07 to kind of come against or challenge, 04:10 He started bring and reveling things to me 04:12 and I ended up getting... 04:15 She ended up getting baptized-- Getting baptized before here. 04:17 Before she? 04:18 Yeah. Yes. 04:19 Oh, I love it. I love it. 04:21 But one of the things that just stayed with me 04:23 is how the Holy Spirit had guided us 04:25 and let us to the place that we are at individually 04:30 and convicted us and here we are. 04:33 Amen. 04:34 What would you say to other believers 04:37 that are in Sunday churches that might not even be 04:41 searching for anything else 04:42 because they don't know anything else? 04:43 What would you say to other believers 04:46 that are in Sunday churches? 04:48 What would you say? 04:50 I would say, follow Christ. 04:53 The Holy Spirit is what leads and guides us into all truth. 04:57 And if you're sold out to Christ, 04:59 and you have a relationship with Him, 05:01 then you trust Him. 05:02 If you know Him you trust Him and so wherever 05:04 He's leading you, that's where you go. 05:06 And simply the Bible says, 05:11 if you love Me then you keep My commandments. 05:13 Yes. 05:14 And whatever commandment that is. 05:16 Yes. 05:17 And that's-- sometimes that means you know, 05:20 closing your ears to what people think 05:22 or what they have to say 05:23 because your love for Christ is just that great. 05:25 Yes. Yes. 05:27 I heard-- I read somewhere 05:29 a minister say, you can't think your way 05:32 or reason your way through spiritual confusion, 05:35 you have to obey. 05:36 And that was something that helped me 05:38 and really encouraged me. 05:40 So I would encourage anyone else 05:41 that's seeking to follow God in a deeper way 05:44 or just be more committed in their walk 05:47 that when He reveal something to you, obey, 05:49 and that thing will become clear to you 05:51 because when we think in our own minds 05:54 and we can figure things out then we become-- 05:56 it just can lead to a lot more confusion. 05:59 Yes. Right. 06:00 And the final thing that I would say 06:02 is that know that He is gonna give you 06:03 the support that you need and surround you with security 06:08 and love and wherever you-- and wherever you go. 06:12 Praise the Lord. 06:14 That it's so important for people to know 06:17 that the Holy Spirit's job is to lead us into truth, 06:21 that's his job. 06:23 So if we're just receptive to His spirit 06:25 and following Him and obeying God, 06:29 He's gonna bring us through. 06:30 Amen. Why haven't I heard this voice? 14:38 Well, I've studied in Oakwood University 14:40 and went to Pine Forge Academy as well 14:42 but I live right in Maryland. 14:44 Exactly. 14:45 And I claim Nashville as home as well, so-- 14:47 So we've got the Nashville connection, 14:50 we've got the Maryland connection. 14:51 Yeah. 14:52 So why haven't we sung together? 14:54 I don't know, that's upon you. 14:56 We got to fix that. 14:57 It is on me?
