00:01 Magnify the Lord with me
00:04 Magnify the Lord 00:08 Jesus alone is worthy 00:11 Magnify Him. 00:18 Hello and welcome to Magnify Him. 00:20 My name is Yvonne Lewis. 00:22 You know, sometimes you feel down, 00:24 you feel little discouraged and you just need a song. 00:28 A song can take you into another realm. 00:31 A song can lift your spirits 00:33 and just make you feel like you're whole again. 00:36 So tonight's artists are going to bless you with their music. 00:40 Listen. 00:41 Be blessed as we magnify Him in spirit and in truth. 00:47 Magnify the Lord with me 00:50 Magnify Him. 00:55 I'm so pleased to welcome Danita Jones to Magnify Him. 00:59 Yay! 01:01 Thank you so much. 01:03 Are you kidding? Thank you. 01:04 We're so blessed to have you. 01:06 Oh, thank you. 01:07 Tell us about your ministry. What's your ministry about? 01:10 I actually-- I have a production company 01:13 called productions by Danita Jones 01:15 and I use that to actually take Seventh-day Adventist artists 01:20 either they want to go into theatre, 01:22 they want to go into music 01:23 and I use my company as an aid for them to do that 01:26 and we write different types of shows 01:28 and it's a safe haven for artists who are Adventists 01:32 that want to be in that type of production 01:34 and singing has always been something that I like to do. 01:37 I never actually thought about doing it, 01:39 you know, really, I just, I love singing in church 01:42 and so I've been doing it since I was two years old. 01:44 You are so gifted. Thank you. 01:46 It's such a blessing to hear you and to-- 01:49 I've known your dad 01:51 since we were freshmen in college. 01:52 Yes, yes. So you know-- 01:54 And your mom, I met not too long ago. 01:56 Right. 01:57 And so the apple does not fall far 01:59 from the tree, let me tell you. 02:00 Thank you so much. They're so talented. 02:02 They are. They absolutely. 02:04 Yes, yes, so talented. 02:05 So let's talk a little bit about 02:07 this production company 02:08 because you then you take artists 02:11 and is it like artist development 02:13 or do you just, you book artists 02:15 for different venues to different venues? 02:17 I like to take less, the lesser known people, 02:18 the people that who kind of like 02:20 fall into the background. 02:21 I honestly believe that there is an anointing on artists, 02:25 especially in our churches, 02:26 especially in the Seventh-day Adventist church. 02:28 And so what I do is that I literally seek those out 02:30 and try to put them on an amazing platform, 02:34 to kind of share their ministry all over the world. 02:36 And then I write different plays 02:38 and incorporate that as well. 02:39 And so I do major productions for different churches 02:41 and I get to travel a lot. 02:43 It's really like the best job to have. 02:45 That's tremendous, so you're managing, 02:49 you're doing you're singing, doing all of these things 02:53 and you came today to bless us. 02:56 So be sure to sit back and listen 02:59 and be blessed by our Danita Jones. 03:12 In the middle of the turbulence 03:19 Surrounding you 03:23 These trying times 03:26 They are so hard to endure 03:32 In the middle of what seems to be 03:38 Your darkest hour 03:42 Hold fast your heart 03:46 And be assured 03:51 This too shall pass 03:56 Like every night that's come before it 04:01 He'll never give you 04:05 More than you can bear 04:11 This too shall pass 04:15 So in this thought be comforted 04:22 It's in His Hands 04:25 This too shall pass 04:35 The Father knows 04:39 The tears you cry before they fall 04:45 He feels your pain 04:49 His heart and yours are one 04:55 The Father knows 04:59 The sorrows of heavy chains are strong 05:05 But with His strength 05:10 You'll overcome 05:15 This too shall pass 05:19 Like every night that's come before it 05:24 He'll never give you 05:29 More than you can bear 05:34 This too shall pass 05:38 So in this thought be comforted 05:45 It's in His Hands 05:49 This too shall pass 05:54 So set your eyes 05:59 Upon the mountain 06:04 And lift your hands 06:08 Up to the sky 06:13 And let His love 06:18 Bring all to surround you 06:24 And take you to 06:28 The other side 06:34 This too shall pass 06:38 Like every night that's come before it 06:43 He'll never give you 06:48 More than you can bear 06:54 This too shall pass 06:57 So in this thought be comforted 07:06 It's in His Hands 07:10 This too shall pass 07:15 He'll wipe away those tears 07:20 This too shall pass 07:33 It will pass. 07:51 I am so glad to know 07:52 that there is a promise in the Bible, 07:55 "Safe in His arms." 08:15 Because the Lord is my shepherd 08:21 I have everything that I need 08:28 He lets me rest in the meadow's grass 08:34 And He leads me beside the quiet stream 08:40 He restores my failing health 08:46 And He helps me to do what honors Him the most 08:52 That's why I'm safe That's why I'm safe 08:58 That's why I'm safe 09:04 Safe in His arms 09:16 I'm safe 09:17 Because the Lord is my shepherd 09:24 I have everything that I need 09:30 You see He lets me rest in the meadow's grass 09:36 And He leads me beside the quiet stream 09:43 He restored my failing health 09:48 And He helps me to do hat honors Him the most 09:53 See that's why I'm safe 09:57 Aren't you glad you're safe? Thank you, thank you. 15:23 It's so good to have you. 15:24 It's a pleasure to be here, really is. 15:26 So I was listening to you during the sound check 15:28 and God has just given you such a wonderful gift. 15:30 Praise God. Praise God. 15:32 How long have you been singing? 15:33 I started singing seriously when I was about 18. 15:35 Oh! Yeah, yeah. 15:36 And I told God, I said, 15:38 "If You take my voice and if You bless me, 15:39 then I will use it for You forever." 15:41 Praise the Lord. 15:42 And He started a slow process of really growing me, yeah. 15:44 So you never really sing before you were 18? 15:47 I did but I wasn't very good. 15:49 I thought I was better than I was. 15:52 And somebody I met was like, 15:54 "You know, you're not really that good." 15:56 Oh, man that's cold. 15:59 They were just being honest 16:00 I mean because I really had a big head 16:01 so, and it started my growth process. 16:04 Well, praise the Lord. I appreciate it. 16:05 So you-- I heard that you did-- 16:08 You were on Sunday Best. 16:10 I was on Sunday Best season-- Tell us about that? 16:12 Well, I went to Atlanta in audition 16:13 and was chosen in top 20 and competed 16:16 and it was an awesome experience, it really was. 16:19 I realize though in that experience 16:21 that you know, competition 16:23 and God's will just don't go hand-in-hand. 16:26 And for my life it doesn't. And so-- 16:28 But I learnt and grew a lot there. 16:30 Praise God. Praise God. 16:32 So where do you see your ministry going? 16:34 What's your vision for your ministry? 16:35 Oh man, I just want to sing as much as possible 16:37 wherever, wherever possible. 16:38 And I just-- I'm depending on God 16:40 to open up every door He wants me in. 16:42 That's amazing, 16:44 'cause God we know has a great plan for you. 16:47 I believe that. 16:48 Just listening to you 16:49 and then you might've had the big head a long time ago 16:52 but you're certainly a humble brother now. 16:54 Praise God.
