00:01 Scattered across the globe, Adventist World Aviation
00:03 has mission outposts strategically placed 00:06 in rural locations. 00:08 Often, aviation is the only way to reach these remote villages, 00:12 tucked away within jungles, 00:14 or scattered along rural tundras. 00:17 AWA connects the inhabitants of these villages 00:20 with the care that they need by employing aircraft. 00:23 Traveling great distances, AWA missionaries 00:26 become a lifeline to those who are in dire need. 00:31 Adventist World Aviation is dedicated to saving people 00:34 both physically and eternally. 00:37 With aviation, AWA can reach those 00:40 off the beaten track 00:42 and share the love of Jesus to the seemingly unreachable 00:45 of this world. 01:31 The LaBore Family has served 01:33 as Adventist World Aviation missionaries 01:35 for many years. 01:37 They began their ministry working in Guyana 01:39 as pilot missionaries, 01:41 and dedicated 10 years of service 01:42 to ministering to the Guyanese Amerindian people. 01:46 A couple of years ago, Bill and Laura felt God 01:48 calling them in a different direction. 01:51 They faithfully made the difficult decision 01:53 to leave Guyana and travel to a new mission field 01:56 on the other side of the world. 01:58 All four LaBore Family members moved to the Philippines, 02:00 to the island of Palawan 02:02 to begin another mission project 02:04 in the rural community of Sapangan. 02:07 They are joining local AWA missionaries, 02:09 Christine and the Espinosa Family 02:12 who have been working here for many years. 02:14 The LaBores know that God called them 02:16 to make this transition to this new land 02:19 and are excited about the future 02:21 Adventist World Aviation mission base. 02:23 The Philippines is an amazing mission field, 02:26 there are over 7,000 islands located here. 02:29 Palawan, the island that we're on right now 02:32 is actually strategically located 02:34 in a perfect position for what we want to do here. 02:36 There are over 1,000 islands just around this island alone 02:40 that have people on them 02:41 that not all of them are inhabited, 02:42 but many are. 02:44 There are Adventist believers in some of these areas, 02:45 and some areas they know nothing about 02:48 the Three Angels' Messages or Adventism. 02:50 And we have a great opportunity to go out 02:52 and begin supporting these islands 02:54 and working with the local union mission and division 02:57 to start supplying their needs and bringing in people 03:00 to assist in some of these areas. 03:02 When the LaBores arrived, 03:03 they were greeted by the Espinosa Family. 03:06 The Espinosas have been faithfully working 03:08 with the local community 03:09 while they eagerly awaited project managers to join them 03:13 and to grow the project. 03:14 Edgar is a pastor and he is our base manager here. 03:19 He has kept the spark alive in this property, 03:21 has been managing our property that we've had here 03:23 for about 10 years. 03:26 Keeping it active, keeping it clean, 03:28 watching over it, making sure that, 03:30 you know, it's protected 03:32 and now that we're here I'm even more impressed 03:35 with his abilities. 03:37 Both he and Raylene are a great team. 03:40 Raylene supports him in many ways 03:42 and they work together 03:44 and this team we've had here 03:45 there's been so much work to do. 03:46 Having Edgar is irreplaceable, so we're grateful 03:51 for his expertise and also 03:55 I know I'm gonna learn guitar from playing, 03:56 from being with him as he plays excellent guitar, 03:58 as does Raylene. 04:00 And also, you know, he's a good pastor 04:03 and he's done a lot. 04:05 He's started a church here and very active 04:08 with other churches also 04:09 and working with people in the area. 04:11 He's a true evangelist. And so we appreciate him. 04:13 And I really am going to enjoy living out here with them 04:16 and working with them, so. 04:18 And we're happy that the LaBore's Family 04:20 are already here. 04:22 We've been waiting for it to come 04:25 because of many years 04:26 of without any monitor, you know. 04:30 We'll start the operation of flying the plane 04:36 and go to different places to help this, 04:43 the people in the Philippines 04:46 and we are so excited. 04:48 Although many think of the Philippines 04:50 as tropical paradise, many areas in the Philippines 04:53 suffer greatly from poverty and illnesses. 04:56 In the remote regions, most people live in bamboo huts 05:00 and do not have access to employment, 05:02 education or the gospel. 05:04 These islands are an ideal location 05:06 for an aviation mission base. 05:08 Adventist World Aviation strongly believes 05:10 in spreading the gospel, 05:12 and bringing hope to all people, 05:14 regardless of how difficult it is to reach them. 05:16 Sapangan is a small town where we live. 05:20 We live in between where the main road is, 05:23 you cut off on a dirt road to go into the main town 05:26 and where our airstrip is in between there. 05:28 The people all got together and sold us pieces 05:32 of their land to make this possible, 05:33 which we're very, very grateful for. 05:36 And Sapangan is very much more of a poor community. 05:39 Almost all the homes are bamboo. 05:41 And people live at poverty level. 05:45 And they have a school there that AWA was actually 05:48 instrumental in helping to build about 10 years ago. 05:52 The area that we're in right here is a very, 05:54 very poor remote area. 05:55 There are bamboo huts all around us, 05:57 that's how people live here and there is a great need 06:01 for aviation support not only in the mountains 06:04 but even on the low lands on this island. 06:06 When people get into trouble, they need to get, 06:09 many backed out, there are snakes here, 06:11 there's malaria here, there's dengue fever. 06:13 There's a number of diseases that sometimes need 06:15 serious medical attention not to mention maternity cases. 06:19 So aviation support is a way that we can ease 06:22 some of these problems and help people get 06:24 to the help that they need. 06:25 The Adventist World Aviation Philippines project 06:28 has been in existence for over 10 years. 06:30 However, the project has not always thrived. 06:33 The LaBore Family are excited about taking this project 06:36 to the next level, and through God's blessing, 06:39 growing it to meet its full potential. 06:42 We're just really excited to be here. 06:45 We've been waiting for several years 06:46 to make the transition from Guyana to the Philippines 06:49 we saw such a need here. 06:51 And we're just excited to be here 06:53 and to pick up the project and take it to new levels. 06:57 The idea that you know, we might be able to be involved 07:01 in some small way of really bringing this thing to fruition 07:04 maybe to the plan that God originally had for it. 07:11 It is emotional and it's, I think there's no better place 07:14 to be than in the center of God's will. 07:16 And when you know that this is where God wants you. 07:18 There's a sense of connection you feel with the Lord 07:22 and that to me, it means a lot. 07:23 I just... 07:25 that's why I'm a missionary, to be honest with you. 07:26 I just like to... 07:27 I like to see God work, I like to be in situations 07:30 where I know I can't do it, that God's gonna have to work 07:32 and do it and I can see him do things that just, 07:35 you just don't get to see back home often. 07:37 The LaBore Family have a lot of work ahead of them. 07:40 It is not easy being new in a foreign country 07:43 where you don't speak the local language. 07:45 One of their first focuses is getting involved 07:47 in their community. 07:49 They want to begin developing relationships 07:51 and friendships. 07:52 We've been trying to integrate our self into the community. 07:55 It's been a little hard because every day 07:57 we're building and painting and things like that. 08:00 But we've been able to go out and do some medical outreach 08:04 in church, they immediately integrate you 08:06 with special music and I don't even sing, 08:09 and all kinds of things. 08:11 Children's Sabbath school, I found out about 20 seconds 08:14 before that I was gonna lead Children's Sabbath School 08:16 things like that. 08:18 So we are jumping in with both feet. 08:21 The Philippines are 7,000 islands 08:23 and 90 million people. 08:24 There's so much work. 08:26 Just when I look around here, I see so much work that needs 08:29 to be done in the village. 08:31 I can't wait to go out and do 08:32 more medical work with the people 08:34 and just get to know them on a personal level. 08:36 Bill and Laura each have unique skill sets 08:39 that they use to integrate into the community 08:42 and to grow the mission base. 08:43 Laura is a pilot and the nurse. 08:46 Bill is a project manager and the Bible worker. 08:49 As soon as they arrive to the area, 08:51 they put their talents to work. 08:52 Bill began visiting different churches 08:55 and sharing the gospel. 08:56 He would also travel to remote villages 08:58 and go to people's homes to give Bible studies. 09:02 It didn't take long for the word to travel. 09:04 And before long, Bill had a full schedule of people 09:07 asking for him to come and share biblical truths 09:10 in their churches and homes. 09:12 Sharing the gospel is one of Bill's 09:14 favorite things to do. 09:16 Bill is really excited to get into Bible studies. 09:19 He loves doing that sort of thing. 09:21 And, of course, he's already been involved in preaching, 09:25 but he's really looking forward to getting to know the people 09:28 on a one to one basis 09:29 and ministering to them that way. 09:31 If I were to summarize, the key to being 09:35 a good missionary, it's really simple. 09:37 It's simply relationship building. 09:39 The bottom line is we're trying to build relationships here 09:41 so we can share with them the good news that Jesus Christ 09:43 is coming back again, very soon, 09:46 and we're all going to be together one day 09:47 and never have to part again. 09:49 That'll be a great day. 09:50 Laura also keeps a very busy ministry schedule. 09:54 Every spare opportunity she finds, 09:56 Laura packs her backpack with her medical instruments 09:59 and ventures into new villages. 10:01 She walks the streets of the villages 10:03 and offers to check blood pressures 10:05 and blood sugars to those who comes in contact with. 10:08 Her trips are twofold, first, 10:10 she wants to get a better understanding 10:12 of the area 10:14 and learn which communities need the most help. 10:16 She also uses this opportunity to interact with people 10:20 and introduce herself and her family 10:22 to those she comes in contact with. 10:24 I will be using some of my nursing skills 10:27 in the community. 10:28 I want to do as much work on the ground as I can 10:31 and get to know the people 10:33 and just really start reaching out to them. 10:47 Today, Laura is venturing out again in her community 10:51 of Sapangan. 10:52 She asks Raylene to join her to help her translate 10:55 some of the medical terminology. 10:58 The two women take off on foot down the dusty road 11:01 toward town. 11:02 As they walk through the streets, 11:04 villages pair out to their bamboo huts. 11:06 They stop from house to house and ask if they would like 11:10 Laura to do a quick medical checkup. 11:12 I went out with Raylene to take blood pressures 11:15 and blood sugars in the community. 11:17 Yeah, it's such a great way to get to know people 11:19 because medical care here is not free. 11:23 And a lot of people can't afford that. 11:25 And so, if we go door to door and just say, 11:27 "Can we check your pressure and your sugar?" 11:29 They're delighted to let you in and we can pray with them. 11:32 It's a great way of opening doors. 11:34 After visiting a few homes, Laura and Raylene hear 11:38 that there's an elderly gentleman 11:40 who is homebound that would 11:41 greatly like to be seen by Nurse Laura. 11:45 When they arrive at his home, 11:46 he's awaiting them outside of his bamboo hut. 11:49 He's very happy that they were able to find him. 11:52 Raylene asks him how he is feeling. 11:55 He has complaints of dizziness and fatigue. 11:58 One of the houses we visited there is an elderly gentleman, 12:01 he was about 82. 12:03 And I took his pressure and sugar and his... 12:06 they're just a little bit high but what concerned me 12:09 is he had an irregular heart rhythm very, very fast. 12:13 This patient understands some English, 12:16 so Laura is able to communicate with him. 12:18 She asks him questions about his symptoms, 12:21 where he has pain, and how long he has felt this way. 12:25 He says he has a history of high blood pressure, 12:27 but his readings are within range. 12:30 When she listens to his heartbeat 12:32 she gets an indication as to why he's feeling 12:34 so poorly. 12:36 You have any pain in here? Does that hurt? 12:39 Where? Right here? 12:45 Here and here, okay. 12:46 Does it hurt when I do this? 12:49 Does it hurt when I do that? 12:51 Sometimes? 12:53 Your heart, when it beats, it's not consistent. 12:58 Your heart, it's like... 13:03 My pain is bit here. 13:05 Right. Your heart is having some troubles. 13:11 And so maybe that's why you're kind of dizzy. 13:14 He was complaining about feeling dizzy. 13:19 And he has a history of his pressure being 13:22 a little bit high. 13:23 The first time I took it, it wasn't showing that high 13:25 because his heart is really erratic. 13:30 So he really needs to get in to see the doctor. 13:34 Is there any way that you could go see a doctor? 13:39 I went to see a doctor some time ago. 13:42 For your heart? 13:44 I cannot go. You can't walk? 13:47 Because his heart is just... 13:52 That's how your heart is, it's fast, it's irregular. 13:56 So there's something that's not right 13:58 with your heart. 14:00 Okay, and so and you're feeling dizzy, 14:06 so you need to get in to see a doctor... 14:09 There is an Adventist Hospital in Puerto Princesa 14:12 which is about an hour and a half car ride 14:14 from Sapangan. 14:16 Most people do not have vehicles to drive, 14:19 so they must hire transportation or take a bus. 14:23 You said you can't go to the hospital? 14:28 You can't... You said he can't. 14:33 Sometimes I go to hospital. Sometimes you go? 14:37 Yes, I go to hospital a bit. 14:39 How do you get to the hospital when you go? 14:44 Long time? Okay. 14:47 How do you go? 14:48 When you go to the hospital how do you get there? 14:51 Tricycle? 14:53 By tricycle. By tricycle? Okay. 14:56 If he's going to the doctor, the doctor needs money. 15:01 Right. 15:02 The round trip cost to get to the hospital 15:05 is out of reach for many in this community, 15:08 especially the elderly, 15:10 even if they could get to the hospital, 15:12 the Philippines does not provide free health care. 15:15 So this patient cannot afford to pay for any of the testing 15:18 or treatment that he needs. 15:20 The patient tells Laura that he cannot afford the costs 15:23 of going to see a doctor. 15:25 He also tells Laura that he cannot walk. 15:28 So travel is very difficult. 15:30 Laura must find another way to help this critically ill 15:34 elderly man. 15:35 This man needs to have his heart examined 15:38 to find out why he is having such 15:40 an irregular heartbeat. 15:42 Laura has heard from people in the community 15:45 that there's a naturalist doctor 15:46 a few villages over 15:48 that sees patients free of charge. 15:50 This doctor sees patients from his home 15:53 and he only offers consults and natural remedies. 15:57 Laura asks this man if he is interested 15:59 in seeing this doctor. 16:01 The man accepts the offer. 16:03 Laura wants this man to know 16:05 that she truly cares for his well-being. 16:07 She asks if she can pray with him before they leave. 16:11 And can I pray with you before we go? 16:20 God, we just love You so very, very much. 16:23 Thank You for Your love and Your mercies. 16:26 And I just pray that You'll heal brother here, Lord, 16:29 and help us to know how to help them 16:32 and may Your Spirit be upon him. 16:34 In Jesus' name we pray, Amen. 16:38 Okay. Lord, be in your heart. 16:47 Before they leave, the ladies leave this man's home 16:50 with a promise to locate the naturalist doctor 16:53 and arrange a visit. 16:55 Laura heads into town to try to track down 16:57 this doctor that she has only heard about. 17:00 As she drives through the town, 17:02 she stops people along the way to ask them 17:05 if anyone has heard of this doctor. 17:07 Each person directs them to another person to ask. 17:10 It's almost as if she's on a scavenger hunt 17:13 to find the doctor. 17:14 Laura is persistent. 17:16 And she finally finds someone 17:18 who knows where to find this doctor. 17:21 Two women graciously offer to drive Laura 17:23 to the farm outside of town where the doctor lives. 17:27 So Laura follows their motorcycle 17:29 as they twist and turn off the beaten path 17:32 in search of the doctor. 17:33 Finally, after many hours of searching, 17:36 they find the doctor's home. 17:38 Laura speaks with him and informs him 17:40 about the patient with the heart condition. 17:43 He agrees to see him tomorrow if Laura is willing 17:46 to bring the patient to him. 17:48 Of course, Laura agrees to transport the patient. 17:52 The next day Laura picks up the elderly man and his wife 17:55 and begins the journey to see Dr. Killman. 17:58 They are eager to see the doctor 18:00 and get some health advice. 18:02 Dr. Killman spends a couple hours 18:04 talking with the patient. 18:06 He reviews the patient's medical history 18:09 and asks him about his ailments. 18:12 After he has detailed information 18:13 about the patient, 18:15 he begins teaching the elder man, 18:17 the importance of diet and healthy lifestyle choices 18:21 that can help him. 18:23 Topics include proper fruits and veggies to eat, 18:26 making sure he is properly hydrated 18:28 and simple changes in his diet that will help him. 18:31 Since he knows that the patient does not have any extra money, 18:35 he also takes the time to teach him 18:38 about natural herbs growing in the wild that can help him. 18:42 The time they spent together is very detailed 18:45 and very informative. 18:47 However, even after the visit is complete, 18:50 both the doctor and Laura agreed that this elderly man 18:54 still needs to go to the hospital for testing. 18:57 Thankfully, God provides a way. 18:59 We were able to take him to a doctor who lives 19:03 not too far away here, who provides free care 19:06 and gave him advice on natural medicines. 19:11 But he also advised that he get an EKG. 19:13 Well, right around this area, there is no place for EKGs. 19:17 And so we are going to be taking him to Puerto Princesa, 19:22 which is the main city on this island. 19:25 It's an hour drive from where we live, 19:28 and we will be taking him into the hospital. 19:31 There's an Adventist Hospital, 19:32 where we are going to get him an EKG. 19:35 It's really hard, when a doctor's visit 19:38 is only about five dollars, 19:40 we could easily pay for somebody 19:41 to go see the doctor. 19:42 The problem is, if we do that for one person, 19:45 we're going to have a line at our door of the entire town 19:49 wanting free medical care. 19:50 We're going to give as much free care as we can ourselves, 19:53 but then when they need more care 19:56 we don't know exactly how we're gonna... 19:59 We just have to go out case by case scenario. 20:01 So we were really grateful when somebody from the States 20:03 stepped in and said that they'll provide 20:05 the medical care for this gentleman. 20:07 The work of Adventist World Aviation's missionaries 20:10 is fueled by donors all across North America. 20:13 Donations are what keep AWA's work 20:15 of carrying out the gospel moving forward. 20:18 This story is just one example of how AWA donors 20:22 are able to make a large impact 20:24 on hurting people all around the world. 20:27 Laura and Bill tell the elderly man 20:30 that a donation from the US was made in his honor, 20:33 and that his medical bills will be covered. 20:36 This is life changing news for the ailing man. 20:39 He knows that God has miraculously blessed him. 20:42 This frail couple cannot make the trip 20:44 to Puerto Princesa alone. 20:46 The man's health is far too deteriorated, 20:49 so they offered to personally drive them 20:51 to the Adventist Hospital. 20:53 The couple Raylene Espinosa and Bill LaBore 20:56 make the journey together into the city. 20:58 As they arrive at the hospital they are greeted by Gae, 21:02 a local AWA volunteer 21:04 who works as a nurse at the hospital. 21:06 She has offered to personally assist the elderly man today 21:09 as he undergoes all his tests. 21:12 Her kind and caring personality 21:14 eases the elderly couple's tensions, 21:16 and they relax a bit, 21:17 knowing that they are in good hands. 21:20 After Gae gets them checked in, 21:22 they're taken straight back to a private room 21:24 to see a doctor. 21:26 The doctor is able to get a more thorough idea 21:28 of what seems to be troubling the elderly man. 21:31 The doctor is concerned about his heart rhythm 21:33 and his persistent cough. 21:35 The heart rate seems normal to me at this 21:38 based on what I can hear, 21:41 but I still suggest to him get ECG 21:44 and then basic chest x-ray, 21:46 because that guy already has cough 21:48 and he has phlegm. 21:51 It looks like he's also a suspect for 21:54 any lung problem like, 21:57 the most common here is EDP tuberculosis. 22:01 Because this has been there like more than one month. 22:04 So a chronic cough always indicates chest x-ray, 22:08 at least here in the Philippines. 22:13 So we will be doing totally ECG and chest x-ray. 22:16 In this part of the Philippines, 22:17 tuberculosis is a common illness 22:19 that often goes untreated 22:21 simply because patients don't seek medical attention 22:24 due to financial restrictions. 22:26 In addition to the heart tests he's already scheduled, 22:29 the doctor wants to add a chest x-ray 22:31 to get a better view of the patient's lungs 22:34 and see if there are any signs of tuberculosis. 22:37 The doctor instructs Gae to take the patient 22:39 for his testing. 22:40 She cheerfully guides the patient from the exam room 22:43 to the diagnostics area of the hospital. 22:46 She will not leave this patient side 22:48 until all his testing is complete. 22:51 She waits with a couple outside the testing area 22:53 and makes lighthearted conversation 22:55 to ease any worry they might have. 22:58 Her bubbly personality eases all nervousness 23:00 this couple might have felt. 23:02 First on the list of tests is an EKG. 23:05 Gae and another nurse help the elderly man 23:08 on to the table. 23:09 They placed the electrodes on his body. 23:11 This electrocardiograph will record 23:14 the electrical activity of the heart 23:16 over a period of time using electrodes 23:19 strategically placed along the man's body. 23:22 These electrodes detect the tiny electrical changes 23:24 on the skin that arise from the heart muscles pattern 23:28 during each heartbeat. 23:29 This machine will be able to measure and report 23:32 his irregular heart rhythm. 23:34 After the test is complete, 23:36 the results are immediately sent to the doctor. 23:38 He reviews the results and feels confident 23:41 in a treatment plan. 23:42 He gives the patient the prescription 23:44 for ongoing maintenance. 23:46 Well, the patient had an EKG and a chest x-ray. 23:50 And we consulted the doctor and the doctor said 23:54 his heartbeat is normal regarding the ECG results 23:59 so the doctor will just be looking onto his ECG report, 24:05 and then I will just ask the doctor 24:09 regarding the result. 24:11 The doctor... 24:13 what we call this, gave him a... 24:16 prescribed him a medication called amlodipine 24:19 which is 10 milligram, 24:20 and he has to take it once a day 24:23 either in the morning or in the afternoon... 24:25 evening at least. 24:27 At least once a day per... 24:29 At least one tablet per day for 30 days 24:33 for his blood pressure, for his maintenance. 24:38 Next, Gae takes the man to get his x-ray 24:41 and other testing done. 24:42 It's a busy day at the hospital. 24:44 Yet her attention is strictly on this one patient. 24:48 Her shift ended hours ago, yet Gae remains 24:51 by this couple's side. 24:52 Christine, another AWA missionary 24:55 has also come to the hospital to show support 24:57 and encouragement to this elderly couple. 25:00 This couple is surrounded by love 25:02 from the Philippines AWA team. 25:04 They're moved beyond words, as they see the great lengths 25:08 that the AWA missionaries have gone through to help them. 25:12 Without a doubt, they strongly feel God's love 25:15 being poured on them. 25:19 Thank you so much. 25:21 He said thank you so much for the help. 25:24 He said thank you so much for your help. 25:30 Thank you, thank you very much for everything. 25:34 The patient and his wife are ready to go home. 25:37 The x-rays have been taken and they are waiting 25:39 for the results to be read. 25:41 Here's the film, initial. 25:43 So the reading will be... 25:46 The reading will be after two days 25:48 or maybe tomorrow. 25:53 Bill and Gae talk about the treatment plan 25:55 and the medications prescribed. 25:57 Bill wants to have a full understanding of his condition, 26:00 so he can help keep an eye on him 26:02 once they get back to their home village. 26:05 After a battery of tests and exams, 26:07 they can now return home. 26:09 This man has undergone all his tests 26:11 and been given heart medications. 26:13 The results are not yet back from his lung x-ray, 26:16 but they feel that he is healthy enough 26:18 to be discharged. 26:20 The patients say goodbye to Gae 26:22 and gratefully thank her for all her help today. 26:25 As they load the patients back into the truck, 26:28 the elderly man has a peaceful countenance on his face. 26:31 He knows that God sent these AWA missionaries to help him 26:36 and he feels secure in knowing that God is watching over him. 26:40 Stories like the one from today happen daily 26:42 at AWA mission bases all around the world. 26:46 Missionaries are on the frontlines 26:48 working to help save people's lives 26:50 both physically and eternally. 26:53 By showing love and compassion for sick and hurting people, 26:56 we are able to be Jesus' hands and feet here on earth. 27:01 A medical work just opens up doors to people's hearts. 27:04 And we've enjoyed going 27:06 and getting involved with people 27:08 on a one to one basis. 27:09 And we're looking forward 27:11 to where those doors are gonna lead. 27:14 Right now we have plans 27:16 of goals that we want to achieve. 27:17 But, you know, when you're working for God, 27:19 you just never know what's going to happen. 27:21 And I know that as we step forward, 27:23 God's going to open more and more doors, 27:25 and more and more opportunities. 27:28 And I believe this project is going to take on 27:30 a whole dimension that we never even believed was possible. 27:33 Well, if you summarize it, you know, a project like this, 27:36 you know, what is the ultimate goal? 27:37 I mean, it's really very simple. 27:39 I mean, the whole idea behind all this, 27:42 it's not about airplanes, it's not about medical work, 27:44 it's not about even outreach, 27:46 all these things we have to do and support. 27:49 But the idea is to show people 27:53 that there is a God that loves them, 27:55 and through our actions, 27:59 not just by thumping a Bible over their head 28:01 but by actually demonstrating that we care about them. 28:04 And we're here to help them, we're here to serve them. 28:09 That is what's going to break down barriers. 28:11 The goal is to take as many people with us 28:14 as we can to God's kingdom. 28:15 I mean, there's no other reason for us being here. 28:18 If we're not doing that, we're just wasting time. 28:21 It boils down to the fact that we want to share God's love. 28:25 And we have to do mission aviation, medical work, 28:27 and I wish to do that, well, 28:28 then that's what we're going to do. 28:30 And I believe that is the ultimate vehicle 28:31 that we will use. 28:33 But I know for a fact that there are people 28:35 all over these islands where the Holy Spirit 28:37 has been working with them. 28:40 Ultimately, that's what we want. 28:41 We want to bring peace to people's lives. 28:42 We want to help them understand 28:44 that there's a God that loves them 28:45 and in fact God Jesus is coming back again. 28:47 And He's gonna take all of us home to His kingdom rich 28:50 and poor, Filipino, American, doesn't matter who you are, 28:53 or what walk of life you come from, 28:56 He loves us all. |
