01:01 You know it's a joy and a privilege
01:03 to speak for the Lord and I know 01:06 that anytime that you bring a teaching from his 01:08 word. You are representing the Lord and 01:10 your speaking for him. At the same 01:12 time it is very humbling and I say 01:16 that, because in the Bible Jesus 01:18 said in John 6:63, the flesh counts 01:22 for nothing only the Spirit brings life, 01:25 so I've realized anytime that I 01:27 am speaking, if life comes from my message 01:30 it is because God brings life, 01:34 I get no credit, no glory. 01:36 But if life does not come from the message, 01:40 it means one of two things. It means either 01:44 my flesh got in the way or your flesh 01:47 got in the way. So let's go before 01:49 the Lord again today and let's pray 01:52 that he will send his holy spirit 01:55 to be our teacher. 01:57 Heavenly Father, we are coming 02:00 now to approach your throne boldly, 02:02 to praise you Lord. We lift up 02:05 our voices in praise for you are 02:08 worthy of our praise. And we ask 02:10 in the name of Jesus that you will forgive 02:12 us, of all of our sins Father. Lord, 02:15 we particularly want to come and I pray for 02:18 myself, for my sisters and my brothers 02:20 here in this audience and around the world. 02:23 I ask I the name of Jesus Lord that you 02:26 would anoint our ears, anoint our heart, 02:30 anoint our spiritual eyes Father. 02:34 Let us see what you are trying to teach 02:36 us and Father, let us hear what the 02:39 spirit has to say, I pray in particular 02:42 Lord that help me to be hidden 02:45 behind the cross. I just want 02:48 to lift Jesus up that you may draw 02:51 all men to yourself Lord Jesus and Father 02:54 I also ask in the name of Jesus 02:57 that this will be a time of great understanding, 03:03 increased understanding, as we look at grace. 03:06 Lord, we want to know you, we want 03:10 to be filled with your spirit please send your 03:13 holy spirit now to fill me and let every 03:16 word that is spoken Father come directly 03:18 from your throne of grace. Lord, I 03:21 cannot do this without you, apart from 03:23 Jesus I can do nothing. So I pray in the 03:26 name of Jesus, send your holy spirit 03:29 now and let us be taught by Him 03:32 and we will give you all the glory 03:34 and all the praise, in Jesus holy 03:37 name we pray, Amen. Amen. 03:41 You know this is such an interesting 03:43 topic and it is something my title of my presentation 03:48 today is called the grace pipeline 03:50 and that comes from a book title. 03:52 I've got a book that I am writing on 03:54 grace and it has a particular interest 03:58 to me and I am going to tell you why. 03:59 I had a friend many years ago one of her 04:03 favorite scriptures was Second Timothy 2:13 04:06 and in that scripture it says if we are faithless, 04:12 he is faithful, because he cannot deny himself. 04:18 Well, she gave me this little scripture promise 04:20 and this is well before the Lord had 04:22 taught me to get into the Bible and 04:25 to really make his word life to me before he 04:29 had taught me to return his promises 04:32 to him in prayer and so she gave me this little 04:35 scripture promise and her attitude was in 04:38 the Church that I was attending at that 04:40 time was, Hey it's all by grace anyway, 04:44 so Hallelujah even if I am faithless, 04:47 he's faithful. He is not going to deny me, 04:50 'cause he can't deny himself and that became my 04:53 attitude, in fact, it was the attitude of my church. 04:56 Now let me tell you something, it is all by 05:00 grace. Amen, Amen. Everything is by grace, 05:03 but let me read to you that scripture promise 05:08 in context because it will change the way 05:12 we look at grace. We have such a limited 05:16 understanding of what God's grace is. 05:20 But this, if we think for one minute 05:24 that we can be faithless and that Jesus 05:27 is going to be faithful to us, we're mistaken. 05:32 Lets look at Second Timothy and we're going to 05:34 begin chapter 2 in verse 11. 05:37 Second Timothy chapter 2 and verse 11, 05:41 so that we'll understand what the 05:44 promise is. The Bible says 05:47 the saying is, I'm beginning with verse 11. 05:51 The saying is sure and worthy of confidence, 05:55 if we have what? Died with him, 06:00 we shall also live with him. What does 06:02 that mean to die with Christ? 06:04 It means to die to self, to pick 06:07 up your Cross and be willing to deny yourself, 06:10 if we had died with him, we shall also 06:14 live with him. If we endure we shall 06:18 also reign with him. Now look at this though, 06:21 if we deny and disown and reject him, 06:25 what's gonna happen? He will also deny 06:29 and disown and reject us. If we are 06:34 faithless, if we do not believe, 06:38 if we are untrue to him he remains true. 06:43 You know what that means to remain true? 06:45 It means that he will remain true to his 06:48 character that he is faithful to his word 06:52 and his righteous character, for he cannot deny himself. 06:57 We must look at grace in a new way 07:02 and when we do we are gonna see 07:05 that grace is so much more than any of us 07:08 understand. Grace, I came to the Lord 07:11 and I said Lord one thing that I know 07:14 for sure is as Paul said in First Corinthians 15:10. 07:19 He said I am what I am by the grace of God. 07:22 One thing I was positive of, is that 07:26 I could do nothing apart from Jesus, that 07:30 everything in my life was by grace, 07:33 but I wanted to understand and here is 07:36 what I want to show you today. 07:38 Grace is God's pipeline, all blessings, 07:43 every blessing in your life flows to you 07:47 by the grace of God. You woke up this morning and 07:50 took a breath by the grace of God. 07:53 You are here at this conference by 07:56 the grace of God, and faith is the faucet, 08:02 if that is faucet, how you tap into 08:06 the grace pipeline. You know some of us 08:09 have enough faith to believe God 08:12 for promises about our finances, if we give him a 08:16 faithful tap, that he will prove to us 08:19 that he will open up the store house of blessing 08:22 and pour out his blessings on us. 08:24 Some of us have that faith, we've tapped 08:27 into the grace pipeline there. Yet, we don't 08:30 have the faith to believe God can save 08:32 our children. Let me tell you something, 08:34 I wanna give you two scripture promises, 08:37 if you have children, who are in trouble 08:39 claim Psalm 1:29 verse 4 that the Lord is righteous, 08:43 that he will cut your children free 08:46 from the cord of the wicked that binds them. 08:48 Claim Acts 26:18 that says he will turn, 08:53 open their eyes, turn them from darkness 08:56 to light, from the power of Satan to God 08:58 that they may receive an inheritance among 09:01 those who are sanctified by faith in Jesus Christ. 09:05 Faith is the faucet, that's how we tap 09:11 into God's grace and prayer is the handle 09:16 that turns the faucet that opens the faucet, 09:19 so prayer is also key to this. 09:22 Trust is the foundation for the prayer of faith 09:26 and relationship is the foundation for trust. 09:30 And let me tell you something, 09:32 love is the foundation for the relationship 09:36 that we have with the Lord. 09:37 So, the greater our love for God the greater 09:40 the relationship, the greater the relationship, 09:43 the greater the trust, the greater the trust 09:44 that we have in God. The greater our faith 09:49 will be and the more we will go and turn 09:52 that faucet and open it up 09:53 and the greater our faith, the greater our 09:56 trust, the greater our prayer, the greater 10:00 our faith. Have you ever noticed that when 10:01 you're really praying about something 10:03 particularly if you pray in the word 10:05 of God, how it just absolutely makes faith 10:08 bubble up in you and you begin to 10:10 overflow with hope with eager expectation 10:14 of what God is going to do and the greater the 10:17 faith, the greater you can draw on 10:19 the grace, everything comes to us by grace. 10:23 Grace is God's pipeline. So, when 10:26 I use the word grace, I have a very 10:28 specific meaning, a definition in my mind, 10:32 what is grace? Somebody give me a definition. 10:36 What is grace? Unmerited favor, 10:41 over and over when I asked this 10:44 question that's the answer I get. 10:46 Let me asked you another question. 10:48 What does that mean? What does it 10:52 mean when we say, see I think that Christians 10:55 are walking in a lesser state than we 10:57 could be walking in, because we do not 11:01 understand. We don't understand what 11:03 faith really is, to us it's ethereal, 11:06 it's a mystical thing and that's the way 11:08 we treat grace. It's like well we know 11:12 its God's redemptive mercy. God's redemptive 11:16 mercy is what my friend believe it was, 11:19 when she was saying if I am faithless to him, 11:22 Shelley don't worry about it he is still faithful, 11:24 he cannot deny himself. What Jesus 11:28 said in Matthew 22 in verse 29 he said, 11:32 are you not in error, because you 11:35 do not know the scriptures and understand 11:38 the power of God, and he says 11:41 to us in Hosea 46 he said, my people 11:45 are destroyed from lack of knowledge 11:48 that's when I was going before the Lord and 11:50 I was saying Lord explain to me what faith 11:53 is all about. Explain to me what grace is all about. 11:58 I've got to know, I don't wanna be 11:59 destroyed because of my lack of knowledge 12:03 and when I looked at unmerited favor. 12:05 Let's look at unmerited, what does that mean? 12:07 It's unearned, it's undeserved. The unmerited 12:12 favor, it's unearned, undeserved favor. 12:16 What is favor? Favor is, have you ever had 12:20 a party favor? Did you know favor is the gift 12:25 of God. The unearned, undeserved gifts 12:30 of God. James 117 says that God is the 12:34 giver of every good and perfect gift. 12:37 It comes down to us through his grace pipeline, 12:41 but there is more to this as I studied out 12:45 grace I have found that it is more than just 12:48 the gifts of God. The second meaning and write 12:52 this down if you are taking notes, 12:54 because the second meaning for grace is grace 12:58 is the divine assistance and supernatural power 13:03 for salvation. Grace is God's divine assistance 13:09 and supernatural power for salvation. 13:14 I want to, lets take those two definitions. 13:19 The unearned, undeserved gifts of God 13:24 and the divine assistance, the supernatural power 13:29 for salvation and let's look at God's 13:32 three greatest gifts of grace. 13:35 Do you remember the story in John chapter 4, 13:39 when Jesus met the woman at the Well. 13:42 Here was the Samaritan woman, her life was a mess, 13:47 had five husbands before the sixth man 13:50 she was living with, but then she met 13:52 the seventh man, the number of perfection 13:54 and when she came to him. 13:57 She was in his vicinity when she drove near 14:02 to him even by accident, not knowing 14:07 and he spoke with her, she was amazed 14:10 that he would speak first to a woman, particular 14:12 to a Samaritan, 'cause she perceived 14:15 he was Jewish, but you know what happened 14:18 she starts this dialogue, our God Christ 14:21 started the dialogue with her, 14:23 and as they were talking all of a sudden 14:26 Jesus says to her if only you knew the gift of God. 14:33 The one who stands before you, 14:37 if only you knew the gift of God, 14:42 and who it is that is speaking to you. 14:45 You would ask of him and he would 14:47 give you living water, water that would well 14:51 up to everlasting life in you. Jesus Christ 14:57 is the greatest gift of grace that God 15:01 ever bestowed upon this world. 15:03 And in Colossians 127 the Bible says 15:06 it is Christ in you that is your hope of glory. 15:11 What is glory? When Moses said oh Lord 15:14 show me your glory, show me your glory, 15:17 the Lord came down and he proclaimed 15:20 his character, his loving kindness, 15:23 his mercifulness, his patience with us. 15:26 The glory of God is his character, 15:29 Christ in you is your hope of glory, 15:32 but let me share something with you 15:34 from Colossians 1:26, lets put that 15:39 from Colossians 1:26, lets put that 15:40 framework around Christ in us, 15:43 the hope of glory. In Colossians 1:26, 15:46 the Bible says this, He is talking about 15:49 the mystery of salvation. He says the 15:51 mystery of which was hidden for ages 15:54 and generations, but it's now revealed 15:56 to his holy people to whom God was 16:00 pleased to make known, how great for the 16:03 gentiles are the riches of the glory of this 16:06 mystery. How many are gentiles in here. 16:08 Hallelujah. I was a gentile now and I'm a spiritual 16:11 Jew, but he says this is the riches 16:14 of the glory of this mystery. 16:17 Christ within and among you, 16:19 the hope of glory. Him we preach 16:23 and proclaim warning and admonishing 16:25 everyone and instructing everyone 16:29 in all wisdom that we may present every person 16:32 mature as full grown, fully initiated into the body 16:37 of Christ. Complete and perfect in Christ. 16:42 Now listen what Paul says for this I labor, 16:46 I'm in verse 29 striving, striving with all 16:52 and in the Greek I am gonna use a Greek 16:55 translation here, striving with all the super human 16:59 energy which is so mightily, which he so mightily 17:05 enkindles and works within me. 17:09 When Christ is in you, he is your hope of glory 17:13 and he brings that supernatural energy. 17:16 He is the one who is working it out in you, 17:19 so if Christ is the greatest gift of grace 17:23 what's another. What do you think might be 17:25 the second greatest gift of grace, not 17:28 only something that is undeserved and 17:31 unearned gift, but something, someone 17:35 who brings to us divine assistance 17:39 and supernatural energy and power for 17:43 salvation. Who am I speaking of, the Holy Spirit, 17:47 when Jesus before he ascended, he told 17:52 his disciples. He said go to Jerusalem and wait, 17:58 wait for the gift that God has promised in Acts 16 he 18:04 says, wait for the promise of the Father, 18:06 for John truly baptized with water, 18:09 but you will be baptized with the holy spirit, 18:14 not many days from now and that when you 18:20 receive the holy spirit you will receive power, 18:24 power to do what for verse 8 says, 18:26 power to be my witnesses into Samaria, Judea 18:31 and all of the World. Grace is the Holy Spirit 18:36 living in you, can you see why you cannot 18:39 say, oh if I am faithless he is faithful, 18:43 'cause he cannot deny himself. 18:45 Grace is more than just his redemptive mercy. 18:50 It is more than just his gifts grace is God's power 18:55 in you, God is the one who is going to 19:00 do the work in you to cause you, to 19:02 will and to do according to his good pleasure. 19:06 Now let me, let me see if you can guess what 19:09 might be the third gift. The third, greatest gift 19:13 of his grace. We've got Christ in us, 19:16 our hope of glory. The Holy Spirit, 19:20 the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the 19:23 Spirit of God that work within us. 19:25 What else has God given us that has 19:28 transforming power for a Godly life? 19:36 The Bible, the word of God, the Bible 19:39 is another and I believe the third greatest gift 19:43 of God's grace. He tells us in Second Timothy 3:16, 19:48 listen to this all scripture is given, 19:52 it's a gift and it was given by inspiration 19:55 of God it is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, 19:59 for correction, for instruction in righteousness 20:02 that the man of God may be complete, 20:05 thoroughly equipped for every good work. 20:10 Are you thoroughly equipped, if you're not, 20:15 got into the Bible. This word is alive 20:20 and active. It is sharper than any two 20:23 edged sword and you know something interesting 20:26 in the Greek the word there for two edged 20:28 sword is Distoman. You know what it means, 20:33 the literal translation, it means double mouthed. 20:36 The word is sharper than any double mouth 20:41 sword and the way I said it is the first edge 20:44 struck when God spoke and the second edge 20:46 strikes when I speak it, as I return 20:49 the word of God to him in prayer as I 20:52 speak it over my life, as I pray it over my 20:55 children. It does not return void, 20:57 isn't that God's promise from Isaiah 55 verse 11, 21:00 Hallelujah you ought to be getting excited right about 21:03 now, it does not return void, because Jeremiah 1:12 21:07 says, he watches over his word to perform it. 21:11 Jesus said in Matthew 4:4, man shall not live 21:15 by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds 21:20 from the mouth of God and listen to what 21:24 God told Ezekiel, in Ezekiel 2:7 and 8. 21:27 He says to the Prophet Ezekiel, you shell speak 21:31 my words to them whether they hear 21:33 or whether they refuse, because they are 21:35 a rebellious people. But you son of man 21:39 hear what I say to you, hear my words, 21:43 do not be rebellious like that rebellious house, 21:48 open your mouth and eat what I give you. 21:53 God wants you today to hear what the Spirit 21:58 has to say. To open your mouth 22:01 and eat these words, that means pull them 22:04 inside of you and say oh Lord plant 22:08 these words in my heart. Let them do a great work. 22:13 James 1:22 says this, therefore lay aside 22:19 all filthiness and overflow of wickedness 22:22 and receive with meekness, with humility, 22:25 the implanted word which is able to save your souls. 22:31 But he be doers of the word and not hears only 22:36 deceiving yourself. If you are familiar with the 22:39 program that God bless me with exalting his 22:42 word here on 3ABN, the theme text of that program 22:47 is Psalm 138 verse 2 and in the Hebrew 22:51 and you will see it in some translations not in all, 22:54 but in the Hebrew this is the way it says, 22:56 God exalts his name, why do you think he exalts 23:01 his name? It represents his character; 23:05 it represents all that he is. He exalts his name 23:08 and his word above all things and he exalts 23:13 his word even above his name, why? 23:16 Why would God exalt his word above his name, 23:21 because in the beginning was the word and the 23:25 word was with God and word was God 23:28 and he became flesh and tabernacle among us 23:31 and he, Jesus Christ, the living word, sacrificed. 23:37 He shared his life blood that we might be saved. 23:42 It is the life of Christ, it is the life of the 23:46 Holy Spirit, it's the transforming power 23:49 the living word of God, living in us 23:52 that gives us the divine assistance 23:56 and supernatural power for salvation. 23:59 It is Jesus and the spirit and the word of God 24:04 that is sanctifying us and saving us Hallelujah. 24:08 No wonder, no wonder Jesus said in 24:13 Second Corinthians 12:9, my grace is sufficient 24:19 for you for my power, my power Jesus 24:24 said is made perfect in your weakness. 24:29 Absolutely, it is the power of Christ, 24:32 the power of God. The power of the Holy Spirit, 24:36 the power of the word. This is grace, 24:39 do you see what I'm, I mean is this beginning 24:42 to make sense to you. There are people bless 24:46 their hearts I used to be one of them, 24:48 that I thought grace was just this umbrella 24:53 that I kind, do you what I am saying, 24:59 it was cheap grace. It didn't 25:01 require anything of me, it didn't require 25:04 that I surrendered to God it was just 25:07 I believed that Jesus is the son of God. 25:10 I believed that he, or that he has taken 25:14 my sins upon him. I believe that I am 25:18 saved by grace, but I don't have to obey him. 25:21 There is not much else I have to do, 25:24 its by grace. Let me tell you something grace 25:28 gives us the power to obey. 25:30 And we are going to look at that in just a moment. 25:33 As, I did this study years ago. 25:36 I understood how Paul could say, 25:39 I am what I am by the grace of God 25:43 and he said his grace was not without affect. 25:48 No, I worked harder than them all Paul said, 25:51 yet not I but the grace of God in me. 25:55 The grace of God will make you work hard. 25:59 Does that makes sense? Yes. It is 26:02 not just some mystical ethereal thing our here. 26:07 It's God's grace the power of his spirit, 26:11 Christ in you, the power of his word that 26:14 makes you work hard. You know, I want to 26:17 share some things about the good news 26:19 of God's Gospel of grace and I had such a 26:23 difficult time limiting myself to these 10 things, 26:27 but in the time that we've got to share 26:29 I want to just limit it to 10 things. 26:31 So let me just briefly I am going to run through 26:33 these quickly and we're gonna look at 26:35 each one. Everything is by grace, by the time 26:39 we finish here each one of us are going to 26:42 recognize our absolute total dependence 26:45 upon the Lord. We are called by grace, 26:48 repentance is by grace, we are saved by grace, 26:52 we learn by grace, our righteousness is by grace, 26:57 we are sanctified by grace, we even 26:59 love by grace, we obey by grace, we develop 27:04 the divine nature of Christ by grace 27:07 and we reign in this life by grace. 27:10 Grace is a power in your life that I want 27:13 you to understand and in the short time 27:16 we are just going to have to go over this 27:18 kind of skimming the top, but lets look at it. 27:21 Number one, we are called by grace. 27:23 Second Timothy 1:8 and 9, the Bible says 27:26 therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony 27:29 of Lord nor of me his prisoner Paul is 27:31 writing to Timothy, but share with me 27:34 in the sufferings for the Gospel according 27:37 to the power of God, are you suffering? 27:40 There are some suffering souls here, 27:42 it's by God's grace, you are suffering 27:46 for the Gospel according to the power of God. 27:50 Who has saved us and called us 27:53 with a holy calling, not according to our works, 27:56 when he called me to full time ministry 27:59 I was one of the least likely candidates in the world. 28:02 It was by God's grace that he called me 28:05 to full time ministry and you know what 28:08 who he doesn't call the equipped, 28:10 he equips the called. Amen, Amen. 28:13 So, he says here in Second Timothy 1:9, 28:16 according to the power of God who has saved us, 28:20 called us with a holy calling, not according 28:22 to our work, but according to his own purpose 28:26 and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus 28:33 before time began. We are all called by grace 28:39 and God's grace is so magnanimous that he 28:43 doesn't want anyone to perish. Amen. 28:47 Not a single soul. He offers, he says 28:51 here is the grace pipeline, now tap into 28:54 it by faith and you will be blessed. 28:57 Number two, repentance is by grace, it's a gift. 29:03 You know we are called to confess our sins 29:07 before the Lord, First John 1:9 says that, if 29:10 we confess our sins, he is faithful and just 29:13 to forgive us sins and cleans us 29:16 of all unrighteousness. Yet sometimes, we 29:19 think that we can repent by ourselves, 29:21 do you know what repentance is? 29:23 It is a change of heart; it is a change of attitude. 29:26 It is if we walking in this direction to turn 29:29 around and go in this direction, that's 29:31 what repentance is, and the Bible tells us 29:33 in Jeremiah 13:23 that we cannot change 29:37 ourselves anymore than an Ethiopian can 29:39 change his skin or a leper can change his spots. 29:42 And the Bible tells us in Romans 8:13, 29:44 it is only by the power of the Holy Spirit 29:47 that we can put to death the misdeeds of our flesh. 29:51 So, let me prove to you that repentance 29:53 is a gift, Acts 5:31 and 32, Acts 5:31 and 32, 29:57 Acts 5:31 and 32, 30:01 Paul is talking about Jesus and he said, 30:04 Him God has exalted to his right hand 30:08 to be Prince and savior, to give repentance 30:13 to Israel and forgiveness of sins 30:16 and we are his witness to these things and so 30:20 also is the holy spirit whom God has given 30:23 to those who obey him. It is God, 30:28 who gives us repentance, how? 30:31 By Jesus living in us by the power of the Holy Spirit, 30:36 the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, by the power 30:39 of his word that is how we repent. 30:43 I can know more turn away from a sin 30:47 of mine on my own and stay turned away 30:50 than I could change my skin or a leper 30:54 can change his spots. Number 3, we are saved 31:00 by grace, that ought to make you shout. 31:03 Hallelujah, for by grace Ephesians 2:8-10, 31:09 Ephesians 2:8-10 for by grace you have been 31:13 saved through faith. Salvation comes 31:17 down that grace pipeline, we tap in to 31:20 it by faith and he says, that nod of yourself it 31:24 is the gift of God, it is the grace of God, 31:27 the unmerited, unearned, undeserved favor of God. 31:33 Nor of works lest anyone should boast. 31:37 It goes on in verse 10 says, for we are 31:40 his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus 31:44 for good works. Now, wait a minute, he just said 31:48 it's not by good works that we're saved, 31:50 but we're created for good works which God 31:53 prepared before him that we should walk in them. 31:56 You know, I meet so many people they're falling off 32:01 the narrow path, either this direction or that 32:04 direction. Either, they believe that they have 32:07 got to work themselves to Heaven and they 32:10 become legalistic and they don't have any 32:13 assurance of salvation, and it's like oh if only, 32:17 I could do more, if only I did this, if only I did that, 32:21 anybody in here ever had they do more, 32:23 oh and I have a lady that I counsel with for 32:27 two years and she kept saying, I know I am 32:30 not going to be ready when Jesus returns 32:32 I know I am not, I just not doing enough, 32:35 I just, you know, I don't know what's wrong 32:38 with me. And I finally one day I said you believe 32:40 salvation is by grace through faith 32:43 and she said yes I do and I said then you're 32:45 right you're not ready, she said why? 32:49 And I said 'cause, you have no faith in the 32:51 power of God to save you. You've got to 32:55 by faith tap in to that pipeline you have got 32:59 to say Lord I know I could never save myself 33:03 I pray that almost every day, I said Lord I 33:05 thank you for your calvary plan, I thank you 33:08 that Salvation is a gift for I know 33:11 I could never save myself. Your try just 33:15 one day living without the power the holy spirit, 33:19 or the power of word the word, or the 33:21 power of Christ in you, try it for one day, 33:24 you cannot do it can you? See as Christians 33:28 I am absolutely convinced that we walk in one of 33:32 two states everyday, we either wake up 33:35 and we walk in the power of the Lord 33:37 or we wake and try to walk in our, our 33:40 flesh power and it is pitiful. We're to be pitied, 33:45 if we tried are that. So there are those 33:46 who fall over here to the right, legalistic, 33:50 trying to work their way to heaven, not 33:52 having faith, but then they are those 33:54 who fall off the narrow path to the left 33:56 and it's like the Bible says it's not by works, 33:59 I don't have to do any thing, do you think if the 34:03 power of the Holy Spirit and the transforming power 34:07 of the word of God and the trans and the life 34:10 of Christ is in you that you're not going to do good 34:12 works. Right here he says, we are his workmanship, 34:15 we are his work of art, no one is just like you, 34:21 God made you unique, you are his workmanship, 34:25 created in Christ Jesus for good works, 34:30 which God prepared before hand that we should walk in 34:34 him and if anybody in here is not sure, 34:36 if you don't have the assurance of salvation, 34:39 I want you to just write this script down, 34:42 don't go there now but you can go there afterwards. 34:44 First John 5:10-12, First John 5:10-12 says 34:49 this that if you are in Christ Jesus, any one who 34:56 has Christ and is in Christ is saved, they have eternal 35:02 life. Anyone who doesn't have him doesn't, 35:05 you are only thing to do is get up each morning 35:09 and make sure you're surrendered and that 35:11 you are looking to God for his direction 35:16 and for his salvation. Number. 4, is we 35:19 learn by grace, did you know that? 35:22 There are some learning men out here that may have a 35:25 PhD or ThD, they may have their degree in, 35:29 the doctoral degree in theology and if they 35:32 don't have the holy spirit alive in them, 35:36 let me tell you something, they don't understand 35:38 the word of God they will sit and argue 35:41 over Manusha in the word, something that has, 35:45 you know I just recently had the opportunity 35:47 to develop a relationship with Dr. Alberto Treiyer, 35:51 a precious man of God, two doctoral degrees, 35:55 two, and you know what this man did, 35:57 he said I'm ready to go back and be a Pastor. 36:01 God called me to be Pastor 'cause he said 36:03 up here with among those who are 36:05 with doctoral degrees, he said some times 36:08 the conservation is such that it's like what 36:11 does it matter, does this matter to salvation, 36:14 so he is out working with the people, 36:15 we learned by grace First Corinthians 2:12 through 36:18 13, it says this, Now we've received not the spirit 36:22 of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, 36:25 that we might know the things that have been 36:27 freely given to us by God, these things 36:30 we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom 36:34 teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, 36:38 comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 36:40 But the natural man does not receive the things 36:44 of the Spirit of God for they are foolishness to him, 36:48 nor can he know them because they were 36:50 spiritually discerned. You can only, when you pickup 36:53 his word, everyday when you're reading the word 36:56 of God pray and ask God to send his 37:00 Holy Spirit to be your teacher, you can't get 37:03 into this word and sometimes I've even done 37:05 it myself, I pick this up and I started, 37:07 I am gonna work on a new sermon or a new teaching 37:10 and I will pickup the word of God I started going 37:13 from head knowledge and all of sudden I 37:15 realized, Lord forgive me. I can't bring life 37:18 to your people, only you can so let me 37:21 Lord now send your Spirit to be my teacher, 37:24 lead me show me what you want to teach the people. 37:28 Romans 8 6-9 says, To be carnally minded is death; 37:32 but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 37:35 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God, 37:39 you know what the word enmity means, hatred. 37:42 The carnal mind is hatred towards God. 37:50 Next time you're watching television ask yourself 37:53 what are you watching, is it the carnal mind 37:55 that put that program together, that's hatred 37:59 towards God. For it is not subject to the law 38:02 of God, nor indeed can be. So then those 38:08 who are in the flesh cannot please God. 38:11 But you're not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, 38:14 if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. 38:16 Now if any one does not have the Spirit of Christ, 38:18 he is not his. Is the Holy Spirit living 38:25 in your heart? Did you invite him today? 38:27 Did you say Lord I need you, I am totally dependent 38:32 upon you. First John 2:27, I want to give a promise 38:36 that if you're in Christ this ought to make you 38:38 just go, wow Lord your grace is so amazing 38:43 it is so extreme that I cannot even comprehend it, 38:47 in First John 2:27 the Bible says the Anointing 38:52 which you have received, you Freddy, 38:56 the Anointing that you have received, you Karen, 39:00 the anointing that you have received from 39:05 him abides in you and you do not need any one 39:10 teach you but as that same anointing teaches 39:13 you concerning all things and is true and it's not a lie 39:15 and just as it has taught you, you will abide in him. 39:19 The anointing, you know the Bible tells us 39:23 in First Corinthians 2:16 we have being given 39:26 the mind of Christ, see hey how do we get the mind of 39:30 Christ, it's when the Holy Spirit is living in you 39:36 when Christ dwells in you and if you want the mind 39:40 of Christ here it is folks, it is written every word 39:45 was inspired by the spirit of God, the more of this 39:49 word that you have in your heart, the more of 39:51 this word that you pray back to God, that you 39:54 confess over your life, the more of the mind of 39:57 Christ that you will operate by, Hallelujah. 40:01 Number 5, righteousness is by grace, 40:05 both imputed righteousness and imparted. 40:08 What I am saying imputed righteousness 40:11 is the righteousness that Christ credits to our account, 40:16 justifying us. Imparted righteousness 40:19 is the righteousness that he works out in 40:22 us day by day as he is sanctifying us 40:25 by his spirit by his likeliness and by his word. 40:28 Hallelujah. First Corinthians 1:30 says, 40:32 it is of him of God that we are in Christ Jesus 40:35 who has become for us our wisdom, 40:39 our righteousness, our sanctification 40:42 and our redemption. Jesus Christ is your righteousness. 40:47 Second Corinthians 5:21 says that God 40:50 made him who knew no sin to be sin for us 40:54 that we might become what, the righteousness 40:59 of God in Christ Jesus, are you in Jesus, 41:04 then you righteous, glory Hallelujah, and there is no 41:09 righteousness. You know someone asked me once 41:11 not too long ago, they said do you believe 41:16 in righteousness by faith and I said I believe 41:19 righteousness by faith is the only 41:21 kind of righteousness that there is. 41:24 Isaiah 64:6 says that all our righteousness is like filthy 41:30 rags before him. Amen. But the Bible tells us 41:35 Isaiah 61 verse 10, this ought to be our cry every 41:41 morning to the Lord, I will greatly rejoice in 41:44 the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God 41:48 for he has clothe me with the garments of 41:51 salvation he has covered me with robe of 41:55 righteousness I look out here and I see so 41:59 many beautiful faces, clothes, people, daughters 42:04 and sons of God, clothed with the robe 42:06 of righteousness, but then I see some who haven't 42:10 yet understood that is a gift that God will 42:14 give by his grace, we are sanctified by grace. 42:17 Number 6, sanctified by grace and our faith in him. 42:22 Acts 26:18 the Lord told Paul, I am sending 42:27 you to open their eyes in order turn them 42:30 from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to 42:32 God. That they may receive forgiveness of sins 42:36 and inheritance among those who are sanctified 42:40 by faith in me, sanctification is a gift, 42:46 it is a gift of God's grace, it is the divine power 42:52 of God working in us. That supernatural, 42:57 super human power that is at work with in us 43:03 for Salvation, we looked a while ago at 43:06 First Corinthians 1:30, that says Christ is 43:08 our sanctification. First Thessalonians 5:23 43:12 and 24 says the Father sanctify us, listen to this. 43:16 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you 43:21 completely, who is doing the work? God. 43:26 May the God of peace himself sanctify you 43:30 completely and may your whole Spirit, soul 43:35 and body be preserved blindness at the coming 43:37 of our Lord Jesus Christ. Now, if I don't hear 43:42 a shout of Amen after this next scripture 43:46 I am gonna check your pulse. 43:50 He who calls you here is he say to God peace 43:54 is going to sanctified you completely, he is 43:57 going to preserve you blindness by his grace, 44:00 by Christ in you, by the Holy spirit by 44:03 the word and listen to this, he who calls you 44:08 is faithful who will also do it. Amen .Hallelujah, 44:16 it is God who is going to do this, 44:19 we are absolutely totally dependent upon 44:23 God for salvation. We are totally depended 44:27 upon God for all things Hallelujah. 44:31 The Spirit sanctifies us, First Peter 1:2 44:34 says that we are the elect according to 44:37 the full knowledge of God, the Father in 44:39 sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience 44:43 and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ, 44:46 and then the word sanctifies us. 44:48 Jesus said in John 17:17, before he went to 44:52 the Cross he was praying and he said 44:56 Father sanctify them by your word, 45:00 by your truth, your word is truth. 45:03 So what we know is that all things 45:07 are by the Grace of God, we love 45:11 by the Grace of God did you know that. 45:14 Mark 12:30, the Bible says that we 45:19 are to love the Lord with our heart, 45:22 the most important commandment. 45:24 Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, 45:27 soul, mind and strength and to love your 45:30 neighbor as yourself. Let me ask you, 45:32 are we loving God with all of our heart, 45:35 soul, mind and strength? Are we? 45:39 Do you put all of your energy in to loving God, 45:43 is he your top priority, do you seek first 45:47 the Kingdom of God before all of things? 45:49 See we cannot do it, I can't do it I said Lord, 45:54 I can't do it. I cannot do it Father I don't know 45:59 how to love with all of my heart, soul, mind 46:01 and strength and once again he says child, 46:04 rest in me it's by grace. Romans 5:5 says 46:10 that he sheds his love abroad in us 46:16 by the power of his Holy Spirit. 46:20 So now I've changed my prayer, 46:23 now when I go before the Lord I say Father 46:25 I know I can't do it in my own flesh, 46:28 but Father, how I praise you that you will 46:32 send your Holy Spirit, shed your love abroad 46:36 in my heart Lord, pour it out. 46:38 Pour your love into my heart, Father God 46:41 and teach me, cause me to love you with all 46:46 of my heart, soul, mind and strength, cause 46:48 me to love my neighbor as myself. 46:51 See I only met Debra Harris yesterday, 46:55 or a day before but I can tell you I 46:57 love you Debra, I love you and that's not 47:00 because Shelley Quinn is something special, 47:02 it's because God put that love in my heart 47:06 for you, isn't that a wonderful beautiful truth. 47:09 Now, here I want to take a few minutes on 47:12 this one, we obey by grace, 47:15 we obey by grace, you know I recently 47:20 had the blessing and the privilege 47:23 to coauthor a book with Danny Shelton, 47:26 The Ten Commandments Twice Removed, 47:27 there's 5 million copies of that book 47:30 that have being distributed, it is being translated 47:32 into or it has been translated into Spanish, 47:35 it's being translated into French, 47:37 and you know something to me the grace 47:40 teacher and anybody that's ever been to any of my 47:42 revival series or retreats, they know that I am 47:45 the grace teachers. I've got some people 47:49 that are writing to me and saying, your 47:51 preaching this obedience stuff, 47:53 don't you know we are saved by Grace, 47:56 you don't believe in Grace you won't believe 48:00 the people that I've had call me, 48:01 email me and say you don't know what 48:05 grace is and I will say let me correct something, 48:10 I want to say you don't know what grace is. 48:14 Let me read this to you and you'll see what 48:16 I am saying, this is what when the Lord first 48:21 called me to full time ministry he specifically 48:25 told me be still and know that I am God, 48:29 forget what you think you know, 48:31 come sit my feet and I will teach you, 48:34 he led on a study of, you know I was in 48:39 an inter-denominational, well actually 48:41 I'll say non-denominational ministry at that time. 48:44 He led me on a study of first sanctuary 48:47 and in the old and new covenants and all of 48:50 a sudden as I am going through this study, 48:52 I am going, thinking my words 48:57 were nailed to the cross, and you know what 49:00 there is only one that I wasn't keeping. 49:01 And it was the Sabbath commandment, 49:04 and so I am going okay Lord then he led me 49:07 on a study of the Sabbath and when I 49:09 recognized that the Sabbath was a day 49:11 he set aside, so that I could rest in 49:13 that beautiful understanding as Exodus 31.13 49:17 says that the Sabbath is a day that signifies 49:22 that he is the one who is sanctifying me Hallelujah. 49:26 So then, what happened though was here is 49:31 someone who had never taught on obedience. 49:33 I was out teaching on grace, just didn't 49:37 understand it. I was teaching on the love of 49:40 God, just didn't understand it. And now 49:43 I am going well Lord, if I am supposed to 49:47 obey then how does this workout with Grace 49:49 and he took me to Philippians 2:13 49:51 and in Philippians 2:13 first it starts with 49:54 verse 12 and I have to tell you, I'll just be 49:56 honest. I got stuck on verse 12 for a couple of weeks 49:59 you know, what verse 12 says in Philippians, 50:02 Paul said, workout your own salvation with fear 50:04 and trembling. Oh! Baby I'm telling you I was, 50:08 I was trying to workout my own salvation 50:11 with knees that were knocking, 50:14 fear and trembling, because all of a 50:16 sudden obedience was real to me and the Lord 50:19 then had to give me just a swift kick to kind of move 50:22 me on and to show me that what he says 50:27 in verse 13 is the most important part. 50:29 He says, not in your own strength, amen. 50:33 For it is God, who works in you to will, amen, 50:37 and to do or to act according to his 50:41 good pleasure. Amen. Now, let me show you 50:43 something that the Lord showed me those are 50:45 two separate stages; God works in 50:47 us to will first, he turns our will if we 50:51 will submit to him what he does, is he 50:54 changes the desires of our heart. 50:56 He lines our will up with his will, 50:59 the more time you spend in this world, 51:01 the more time you spend in prayer all of 51:03 the sudden you will find that God does 51:05 this thing that he does it so gently, you don't even 51:07 understand it's going on. And all of a 51:10 sudden he is changing the desires of your heart, 51:14 his desires become your desires, his thoughts 51:17 become your thoughts, amen, and you are 51:20 going Wow! Lord, now but once that happens 51:23 will God ever force you to do anything? 51:26 No. So, how does, if he works in us to will 51:29 when I submit, how does he work in me 51:31 to act? You know, how it is? It's like this, 51:35 God says, okay I have convinced you of this. 51:38 This is my promise over your life. 51:40 This is what I am asking you to do. 51:42 Now, Shelley I want you to turnaround 51:45 and you take one little step of faith, 51:47 you tap into that by faith and my grace 51:50 shows up, the power of the Holy Spirit 51:52 shows up and God works in you to act 51:56 according to his good pleasure, amen. 51:58 Hallelujah. Hebrews 5:9, you know, 52:02 we are saved by grace, yes, but we are saved 52:06 by grace to obey by grace. Hebrews 5:9 52:11 says that, "He became the author 52:13 of eternal salvation to all those who obey him;" 52:18 That's the one, that's the scripture people are upset 52:21 that I put in this book, they are saying that's 52:24 taking away grace and I'm saying no, you 52:26 don't understand grace. God works 52:29 in us to will and to act so that we 52:31 may obey him. And then in First John 3, 52:35 First John 3 verses 7 through 9. 52:38 It is true we are made righteous by grace, 52:41 it is a gift, he imputes it, but he also imparts 52:44 righteousness to us, he is working in 52:47 us and here is what. He, we are made 52:50 righteous by grace, so that we can 52:52 practice righteousness by grace. Amen. 52:56 First John 3, 7 and 9 says this, 52:59 "Little children, let no one deceive you; 53:02 he who practices righteousness is righteous 53:07 just as he is righteous. He who sins 53:10 is of the devil, you know, this is talking about 53:12 a continual pattern of sin. For the devil 53:15 has sinned from the beginning, for this 53:17 purpose the son of God was manifested 53:20 that he might destroy the works of the devil. 53:23 When you've got Jesus living in you, 53:27 when you're relying on the power of the 53:29 Holy Spirit and the transforming power of his 53:31 word, God will work in you to destroy 53:35 the works of the devil, amen, Hallelujah 53:38 Amen, amen. So, he says, whoever has 53:43 been born of God does not sin as a 53:45 continual practice, for his seed remains 53:49 in him and he cannot sin because he 53:51 has been born of God. In First Peter 1:2 we 53:53 looked at that a while ago that we were 53:55 sanctified by grace. Now, I want to focus 53:58 on the rest of that scripture, we are sanctified 54:01 by grace to obey by grace. It says, 54:05 that those who were chosen and for known by 54:07 God the Father consecrate it, sanctify, 54:11 made holy, by the Spirit to be obedient to the Lord 54:19 Jesus Christ. Do you see, are you beginning 54:23 to see a picture that grace isn't just 54:26 something that we can go, Oh! It's all by 54:28 God's grace. Grace is power, it is power for 54:32 a holy life, it is power. The Bible tells us 54:37 in Philippians 1:6 and I want to be sure that I 54:40 include this one because once again 54:42 this is something that makes it exciting. 54:44 Philippians 1:6 says that, we can be 54:48 confident of this thing that he who has begun 54:52 a good work in you will be faithful to complete it. 54:56 Amen. Listen this is good news, if I'm, 54:59 if I'm saying like I'm coming down a little harsh 55:01 I'm not, amen, God want you to know the power 55:05 of grace. Now, let me go through the last 55:08 two quickly. We develop the divine nature of 55:12 Jesus Christ by grace. Open your Bibles 55:16 quickly to Second Peter 1:2 and 4. 55:19 Second Peter 1:2 and 4, this is one of my 55:24 favorite scriptures in the whole Bible. 55:25 Of course I say that over so many 55:28 scriptures that people are sometime saying, 55:29 do you really have a favorite? Amen. 55:35 Second Peter chapter 1, we're going to look at, 55:39 lets start with verse 2, "Grace and peace 55:43 be multiplied to you," I'm speaking that over your 55:46 life right now. "Grace and peace be 55:49 multiplied to you. Grace and peace be 55:53 multiplied to you, in the knowledge of God 55:57 and of Jesus our Lord, as his divine what? 56:02 Power. Power, his divine power. Sandy, the Holy Spirit 56:07 living in you. The transforming power of the 56:10 word of God, Christ in you, your hope of glory 56:13 has given to us all things that pertained to 56:16 life and Godliness, through the knowledge 56:18 of him who called us by his glory and virtue, 56:21 by which by his glory and virtue 56:23 have been given to us exceedingly great 56:27 and precious promises. See the promises 56:30 of God are by grace, there are a gift, 56:33 he has given us his exceedingly great 56:36 and precious promises, why? That through them, 56:39 through the promises of God. You may be 56:43 partakers of the divine nature, having 56:48 escaped the corruption of the world. 56:50 That's in this world through lust. 56:53 It is the more of this word that you get 56:57 into your heart. The more of this word that 56:59 becomes arraignment to you, that you are 57:02 confessing over your life, that you are putting 57:04 it into practice. The more you will partake 57:07 of the divine nature. God has given us; let me 57:11 hear a Hallelujah, are you all awake? 57:13 He has given us everything that we need, amen, 57:17 for life and Godliness. Hallelujah, he is not asking 57:22 you to get out here and try to work it on 57:24 your own. Amen. He is not asking you to, 57:27 to scrub your face and put your hair back 57:30 in the bun and wear a sack dress and walk 57:32 around on your knees, praying all day long, 57:35 amen, he is saying I have given you power, 57:37 I have given you my divine promises, 57:40 exceedingly great and precious promises, Cynthia. 57:44 So, that through them you may become a partaker 57:47 of the divine nature of Jesus Christ. 57:50 He's given it to us it's a gift, but yet 57:54 do we have a part in that, look at verse 4 or 5. 57:57 Verse 5, it says, "Also for this very reason 58:02 giving all diligence," he is talking to us now, he said, 58:07 Here's God's part he is given you everything you need. 58:10 He has given you the Holy Spirit, he has given you 58:12 the life of Jesus in you, he has given you his 58:14 word, his precious promises, his vows are upon 58:17 your life, he will be faithful to perform them, 58:20 but listen he says, for this reason giving all 58:24 diligence add, this is your part, add to your faith 58:29 virtue-to-virtue, knowledge-to-knowledge, 58:31 self control to self control, perseverance 58:33 to perseverance, Godliness-to-Godliness, 58:36 brotherly kindness, this is working out your own 58:38 salvation with fear and trebling. 58:40 But not in your own powerful for it's God who works 58:43 in you to will and to act, for if these 58:46 things are yours and abound you will neither 58:48 be buried nor unfruitful in the knowledge of 58:50 our Lord Jesus Christ, but he who lacks these things 58:54 is short-sighted even to blindness. Amen. 58:56 He was forgotten that he was cleansed from his old 58:59 sins. Therefore brethren be even more diligent 59:04 to make your call and election sure, for if you do 59:08 these things you will never stumble, for an 59:10 entrance will be supplied to you abundantly 59:13 and to the everlasting communion of our Lord 59:15 in Jesus Christ. So, God gives us everything 59:19 we need to develop the divine nature, but 59:21 just because he has given you all of his promises, 59:23 if I don't get into this word and get some of this 59:26 word into me. See God's done his part and he said, 59:29 Shelley cooperate, surrender your life 59:32 to me darling and then verse number 10. 59:36 Number 10, we reign in life 59:38 through grace, we reign in life. |
