00:59 Matthew, we've had a great time here this weekend.
01:02 I've had a blast. 01:03 And we've got great crowd that's coming out-- Yes. 01:05 And friendly people. Friendly people in Huntsville. 01:08 I like--I'm gonna come south more often. 01:09 Well, you should. 01:11 I got some great friendly people down here for sure. 01:12 I would like to have you often. 01:14 We mentioned this morning about your-- 01:15 you're wearing what I usually wear and I wear-- 01:17 I'm wearing what you usually wear. 01:19 Yeah, and I was wondering what happened. 01:20 Well, I don't-- I don't know, 01:22 but you know, I'm so jealous of you-- 01:23 Yeah, yeah. Take it off. 01:25 Not wearing a tie. 01:26 Yeah, let me hold this for you. 01:27 Come on, there you go. 01:29 Come on, now give this man an applaud here, huh? 01:30 How about that, huh? 01:33 There you go. There you go. 01:36 Oh, brother. All right. 01:37 Now that looks more like 01:39 what we're used to looking like here, okay. 01:40 I feel better, I know that. 01:42 Now, I feel like an Adventist here. 01:45 Thank you. 01:47 I don't know what he-- don't clap. 01:49 We don't know what he meant by that. 01:50 Do you? So-- 01:51 I hate to see a good tie get abused. 01:54 C.A. has taken the tie out. He'll be wearing it next. 01:57 You got to watch him there. 01:58 Oh, my. Okay, all right. 02:00 Well, it's okay to have a little bit of fun, right? Absolutely. 02:02 We can be spiritual, too, but yet have-- 02:03 I think Christians ought to be the happiest, 02:05 excited people on planet earth. 02:07 What do you think? That's right, amen. 02:08 So we don't have to go out in the world and do-- 02:11 go to bars and do all the things 02:12 that other people do to have fun. Right, right. 02:14 We used to do that and found out it's not where life is. 02:16 No, absolutely not. That's right. 02:18 Life is where, right today where Jesus is. 02:22 That's it, that's it. That's life. 02:23 And that's all, Jesus is life. 02:25 He is the way and the truth in the life, right? 02:26 That's right. That's it. 02:28 And I'm so thankful to be a Christian today. 02:29 I'm thankful for Reggie and his wife Kathy 02:31 allowing us to come here 02:33 to this little gymnasium to their school here. 02:36 And Reggie is-- as for those 02:38 that don't know if you're just joining us, 02:41 through the Ten Commandment project and reading the book. 02:44 The Ten Commandments twice removed 02:45 that he and his family and his congregation here, 02:48 they've decided that they want to keep the Seventh-day Sabbath 02:51 instead of Sunday that they have for many years. 02:54 And so we're glad that you're doing that 02:57 because you're doing what God asked you to do. 02:59 God's asked me to do it. 03:00 And you told me you're being blessed 03:02 ever since you started keeping the Sabbath. 03:03 Actually, I believe God told me to do it. 03:04 Oh, He told you to do it. 03:06 That's right. Well, He did. 03:07 It was a commandment. All right. 03:09 But you told me last night that you're blessed 03:10 ever since you started keeping the Sabbath. 03:12 Oh, I'll tell you, It's just the most amazing thing. 03:14 God just opened my eyes to so many truths 03:16 that's in the Scriptures I never saw before. 03:18 Yeah, there's just something about it. 03:20 When you keep that day and you honor Him on that day, 03:23 I believe that wonders of heaven of spiritual things 03:26 just open up to you. 03:27 Has it even affected your-- what you eat yet? 03:30 Oh, absolutely. Really? 03:31 Well, I don't eat my catfish and my pork anymore. 03:34 Yeah, yeah. All right. 03:38 And I do love catfish. I'm from Alabama. 03:40 I love my catfish, but-- 03:42 Yeah, well, that catfish is all gone now. 03:44 That's over-- Thing in the past. 03:45 Old things are passed away. 03:47 You know what they do? 03:48 They're bottom, you know, they go along the bottom-- 03:50 We don't want to eat those. Eat whatever is there. 03:52 Or those pigs, that rooting all along. 03:54 We don't want to eat that kind of stuff, right? 03:55 Right, that's right. Okay, all right. 03:57 But now I still eat my grits. 03:58 You still eat your grits? Oh, I got to have my grits. 04:00 I got to have the grits. Well, that's all right. 04:02 That's all right. That's okay. 04:03 That's fine. But that's amazing. 04:05 So you read that, you understood the Sabbath, 04:09 but God has shown you a lot of other truths. Absolutely. 04:12 So, but I thought that you figured you knew it all. 04:14 You've got--you've got a doctor's in Theology. 04:16 Well, and that didn't mean that much. 04:20 I thought I knew it, but I didn't. 04:22 Well, the main thing is that 04:24 none of us know everything, seriously. 04:25 Right, right, we don't. None of us know everything. 04:27 And here we see through a glass darkly 04:29 but when we get to heaven, it's face to face. Yes. 04:31 But what I enjoy is interacting 04:33 with Christians of all denominations. Amen. 04:35 And I believe God has people in all churches. 04:37 Yes, He does. And I'm so thankful for that. 04:38 But I'm thankful for the people that are here, 04:41 the closing moments of earth's history. Yes. 04:44 Who are coming out of the woodworks 04:45 to say we want to embrace God's law. Absolutely. 04:48 We want to uphold the Ten Commandments. Yeah. 04:50 And we want to tell the world about it 04:52 because it's a matter of who am I gonna serve today. 04:54 Am I gonna serve God or am I gonna serve man? 04:56 That's right. And God has people like you. 04:58 And we know of many, many others just in this past year 05:03 in churches and even some congregations saying, 05:05 "We want to make this switch." Absolutely. 05:08 We're excited for what's happening, 05:09 for what God is doing because the end result is 05:12 just simply means that we don't have 05:14 all that long to live here on planet earth. 05:16 And as I said this morning, I don't want to go prematurely, 05:19 but I would like Jesus to come back, 05:21 and I'm ready to experience what C.A. talked about today. 05:23 He got-- Absolutely. 05:25 C.A.? Where is he? He got me homesick. 05:26 Did any of you get homesick today? Yes. 05:28 Started telling you about all the things 05:30 that you got to leave behind, 05:31 but all the things that you get and never regret land. 05:35 And I'm telling you, I was sent back there 05:37 and I said, "You know, Lord, that's what I'm waiting for." 05:39 Amen. 05:40 What we'd like you to do is 05:41 give a blessing again on this program today. 05:44 Let us pray. 05:45 Heavenly Father, again we're so thankful for this afternoon 05:48 and the riches that are in store for us. 05:51 We thank You that we're children of the most High God. 05:54 We thank You that we're Sabbath keepers. 05:57 We thank You that You are the Lord of the Sabbath. 06:00 Amen. And You're our God. 06:01 And we come to worship and to praise You. 06:03 Now, would You just put Your anointing on this place, 06:06 on the singing, the musicians, 06:09 the Word of God that will be proclaimed, 06:12 Lord, just bring Your anointing 06:13 and bring Your glory into this house 06:15 we pray, in the mighty name of Jesus we pray, amen. 06:19 Amen. All right. 06:20 Thank you, Pastor. God bless you. 06:21 We'd like to bring up a couple of folks right now. 06:25 Brothers In Christ. 06:26 And I believe they are gonna be doing "At the Midnight Hour." 06:45 I hear the sound of a mighty rushing wind 06:57 And it's closer now than it's ever been 07:10 I can almost hear the trumpet 07:17 As Gabriel sounds the call 07:25 And at the midnight cry, we'll be going home. 07:38 When Jesus steps out On a cloud to call His children 07:52 The dead in Christ shall rise to meet him in the air 08:06 And then those that remain Will be quickly changed 08:22 And at the midnight cry At the midnight cry 08:27 When Jesus comes again 08:44 I look around me, I see prophecies fulfilling 08:57 And the signs of the time, they're appearing everywhere 09:09 I can almost hear the Father 09:16 As He says, Son, go get your children 09:25 And at the midnight cry The bride of Christ will rise 09:37 When Jesus steps out On a cloud to call His children 09:51 The dead in Christ shall rise to meet him in the air 10:05 And then those that remain Will be quickly changed 10:20 And at the midnight cry At the midnight cry 10:25 When Jesus comes again 10:32 And then those that remain will be quickly changed 10:47 And at the midnight cry At the midnight cry 10:52 When Jesus comes again 11:01 And at the midnight cry At the midnight cry 11:06 When Jesus comes again 11:12 When Jesus comes again 11:25 Amen. Good. 11:28 We'd like to--we have some-- I like doing this. 11:30 I haven't got to hear these folks sing 11:33 and they just came and auditioned so to speak 11:36 a little before the program and we're getting-- 11:38 you all have so much talent around this. 11:40 And I'm sure it has nothing to do with Oakwood College, right? 11:43 And so we're very thankful that-- 11:45 Here we have another group right now, it's Last Cry. 11:49 And we'd like for them to come out 11:50 and maybe you all could introduce yourself 11:52 and tell us where you're from and then minister to us. 11:57 I'm Leone Phoenix. 11:58 I am originally from Trinidad and Tobago. 12:01 I'm Lakisha Gustave, I'm from New York. 12:03 I'm Amethyst Joshua, I'm from the U.S., Virgin Islands. 12:07 Sonya Langlami from Kingston, Jamaica. 12:09 Michael Johnson from Omaha, Nebraska. 12:12 My name is Ray Andrews, 12:14 and I'm from Huntsville, Alabama. 12:31 I love you, Lord And I lift my voice 12:47 To worship you Oh, my soul rejoice 13:01 Take joy my King In what You hear, hear 13:16 Let it be a sweet, sweet sound in Your ear 13:37 May it be a sweet, sweet sound in Your ear 14:00 We lift up holy hands in one accord 14:13 Blessed be the name Blessed be the name 14:21 Blessed be the name of the Lord 14:32 Blessed be the name of the Lord 14:40 He is worthy to be praised and adored 14:48 We lift up holy hands in one accord 15:00 Blessed be the name Blessed be the name 15:10 Blessed be the name of the Lord 15:18 We lift up holy hands in one accord 15:29 Blessed be the name Blessed be the name 15:39 Blessed be the name of the Lord 16:02 Hallowed be Your name 16:12 Hallowed be Your name 16:22 Hallowed be Your name 16:30 Lord and majesty Divine authority 16:40 Hallowed be Your name 16:51 Hallowed be Your name 17:01 Hallowed be Your name 17:09 Fill this place with the praise 17:18 Of the God of all grace, lift Him high 17:31 Glorify the ancient of days 17:44 All ye saints, lift your voice, lift your hands and rejoice 18:03 God is here, fill this place with praise 18:21 God is here, fill this place 18:29 God is here, fill this place 18:39 God is here, fill this place 18:48 with praise Fill this place 19:11 Amen. Marshall Kelly will bless us. 19:30 Thank you, Danny. 19:40 His strength is perfect So perfect 20:08 I can do all things through Christ, 20:15 who gives me strength 20:19 But sometimes I wonder what he can do for me 20:32 No great success to show No glory of my own 20:44 Yet in my weakness, he is there to let me know 20:55 His strength is perfect when our strength is gone 21:06 He'll carry us when we can't carry on 21:18 Raised in His power the weak become strong 21:29 His strength is perfect His strength is perfect 21:53 We can only know the power that he holds 22:02 When we truly see how deep our weakness goes 22:14 His strength in us begins When ours comes to an end 22:24 He hears our humble cry and proves again 22:34 His strength is perfect when our strength is gone 22:45 He'll carry us when we can't carry on 22:57 Raised in His power, the weak become strong 23:08 His strength is perfect, perfect 23:18 When our strength is gone 23:24 He'll carry us when we can't carry on 23:36 Raised in His power the weak become strong 23:46 His strength is perfect His strength is perfect 23:57 Raised in His power, the weak become strong 24:09 His strength is perfect His strength is perfect 24:25 Amen. God bless you. 24:38 It's a real privilege 24:40 to exalt the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. 24:45 His strength is perfect. 24:48 And I praise God for the songs, the music, 24:51 spoken word, and the testimonies. 24:54 And I ask you to let us pray before we open the word. 24:59 Eternal Father in Heaven, I am not sufficient 25:05 to speak to these individuals listening here 25:10 and wherever they're listening around the world. 25:13 So I ask that Your Holy Spirit will not let anyone leave here 25:21 without having been spoken to by thee. 25:26 This is our prayer in the worthy name of Jesus. Amen. 25:34 The message that was given to me is entitled "The Two Attitudes." 25:41 There are basically just two attitudes. 25:45 The attitude of the saved and the attitude of the lost. 25:51 The leader of the saved is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 25:57 The attitude of the lost 25:59 is dominated by the enemy of all righteousness. 26:04 You have your Bibles and I would ask you to turn with me today 26:07 because I have to read the word to you. 26:12 John 10:10, we can-- we can say that one together, 26:17 "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, 26:21 and to kill, and to destroy. 26:24 I am come that they might have life, 26:27 and have it more abundantly." 26:32 The attitude of the saved is the attitude of Jesus Christ. 26:40 Here is His attitude. 26:42 Philippians 2: 5-8. 26:50 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. 26:58 Who, being in the form of God, 27:00 thought it not robbery to be equal with God. 27:03 But made himself of no reputation, 27:06 and took upon him the form of a servant, 27:09 and was made in the likeness of men. 27:13 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, 27:17 and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 27:24 Wherefore God hath highly exalted him, 27:27 and given him a name which is above every name. 27:31 That at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, 27:35 of things in heaven, and things in earth, 27:39 and things under the earth, that every tongue should confess 27:43 that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." 27:49 And that's the attitude of the saved. 27:52 The same attitude that Jesus had 27:55 is the attitude all of His children have. 28:02 He humbled Himself. 28:04 My mind goes back to John 17:5, 28:08 there He is in the garden praying and then He says, 28:11 "And now, O Father, glorify thou me 28:15 with the glory that I had with thee before the world was." 28:19 His pre-existence, the angels love to do His bidding, 28:24 the angels love to go on His errands, 28:27 and yet, He humbled Himself so much 28:31 that He came into this world, 28:34 not the height and the energy of Adam, 28:39 but He came after almost 4,000 years of sin 28:43 and He allowed Himself to be nestled in the body of Mary 28:49 and then to be born not in the hospital and not at home, 28:54 but to be born with the animals. 28:58 How can we ever be arrogant, 29:03 haughty and proud as Christians? 29:07 And our Savior was humble, 29:10 so humble that He gave Himself 29:15 not only to die the death that we die by nature, 29:19 but He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death 29:23 even the death of the cross. 29:25 I wrote down some text here that mentioned 29:28 that Jesus obeyed His Father the whole time He was here. 29:33 In John 15:10, "I have kept my Father's commandments." 29:38 John 17: 4, "I have finished the work 29:42 which He--thou gavest me to do." 29:47 "My meat," John 4:34 "Is to do the will of Him that sent me, 29:52 and to finish His work." 29:55 He didn't choose His own way. 29:57 He said, "Because I seek not my own will, 30:00 but the will of the Father which have sent me 30:03 for I came down from heaven not to do mine own will 30:07 but the will of Him that sent me." 30:10 Psalm 40:8, "I delight to do thy will, O my God, 30:14 yea, thy law is within my heart." 30:17 When I think of Jesus 30:20 and I think how He humbled Himself 30:23 and became obedient unto death, not only of His preexistence, 30:27 but His incarnation, and what did He have 30:31 as a nice cradle? 30:33 manger where the animals eat their straw. 30:39 I ask you today, are you willing to be like your Savior? 30:47 He lived a sinless life. 30:51 He never sinned once, in word, deed or thought. 30:58 And then He gave Himself in selfless ministry. 31:03 3ABN is about ministry. 31:08 It's not about lifting up people, 31:11 it's about ministry for Jesus 31:13 because Jesus has so many children out there 31:18 that don't know what you know, 31:21 that don't understand what you understand. 31:26 And, friend of mine, you can want Him to come 31:29 all you want to, but He is not coming 31:33 until this gospel of the kingdom is preached in all the world 31:40 for a witness unto all nations. 31:44 God has never just loved a select group of people. 31:48 He has always loved the world. 31:50 That's what John 3:16 says. 31:53 Would you say it with me? 31:54 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, 32:01 that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, 32:04 but have everlasting life." 32:07 He has never just liked one group of people. 32:10 He say--that's why, He said, "Go into all the world 32:13 and preach the gospel to every nation, 32:15 kindred, tongue, and people." 32:19 And allow me right now just to pause. 32:24 And I--I want to say thank you during this month of February. 32:30 It's called Black History Month. 32:34 But I want to thank the Caucasian people, 32:39 who are abolitionists, who put their life, their jobs, 32:46 their future on the line 32:51 that my people might know 32:55 the freedom here in this country. 32:58 The first president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church 33:01 was John Byington. 33:05 He had an underground railway station at his house. 33:10 Do you know what they would do sometimes 33:13 to a person they found with an underground railway station? 33:17 Sometimes they would take that man's wife, 33:21 rape her in front of him, bring the children, 33:25 kill them, and then kill him last, 33:29 but I want you to know there were Caucasian people 33:33 who said, "No matter what it costs, 33:36 we're going to stand 33:38 for the freedom of all of God's children." 33:41 And I want to thank the individual 33:45 when I was going down for the third time 33:49 in Lake Erie in Cleveland, Ohio. 33:52 I was drowning, I was grabbing for paper on the water. 33:57 I couldn't swim. 34:00 And an African-American and a Caucasian gentleman 34:03 jumped in the water and pulled me out. 34:08 If you think that I'm going to hate anybody, 34:15 just put it down, never, 34:18 especially when you claim to be a commandment keeper. 34:24 Commandment keepers are lovers. 34:27 Did you know that? 34:29 The first four Commandments deal with our love for God. 34:33 The last six are love for our fellow men. 34:38 And if Jesus is our Savior, we are compassionate, 34:42 we care about people. 34:45 The attitude of Christ is the attitude of His children, 34:50 and I bid you, those who keep the Commandments of God, 34:55 those who honor God's Sabbath, 34:57 please, when you talk to people about the Sabbath, 35:03 don't let any arrogance be in your voice. 35:07 Don't let any self-righteousness, 35:10 be your card. 35:13 Always tell the truth in love, never in arrogance, 35:19 never as if you are better than others. 35:23 We have all been saved 35:24 by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. 35:28 And if we were more kind and courteous 35:34 and tenderhearted and sympathetic or pitiful, 35:39 there would be 100 conversions to the truth 35:43 where now there is only one. 35:47 As we exalt God's Commandments, as we exalt Jesus Christ, 35:51 let's do it in Christ's spirit at all times. 35:57 After the last Ten Commandment weekend, 36:00 I was in Washington DC with the 3ABN family 36:05 and I will not forget. 36:07 The next day, a gentleman was passing out 3ABN Commandments, 36:12 twice removed and a young man said, 36:15 "Oh, there's Pastor Kelly. 36:17 Pastor Kelly, come over here 36:19 and tell these men about the Sabbath." 36:22 I said, "The Lord didn't tell me to come over there 36:25 and tell them about the Sabbath. 36:28 He told me to come over there 36:30 and tell them how much the Lord loves them. 36:34 He told me to go over and let them know 36:36 that I respect them, that I love them, 36:39 and that I want to see them in God's kingdom." 36:41 And they tried to get into a little argument with me. 36:44 I said, "Brethren, I don't need to argue about the Sabbath. 36:48 The Sabbath was here 36:49 before any of us were in existence, 36:52 and the Sabbath will be here after we are long gone. 36:55 So we don't make the Sabbath holy by going to church, 36:58 the Sabbath is already holy because God made it holy, 37:03 and I don't need to argue with you about the Sabbath." 37:09 I said, "I love you. 37:10 You are my brethren." 37:13 And when we finished, we left as friends. 37:18 You see, you know as well as I 37:22 that the Sunday law is coming in this country. 37:26 No matter how much you think it can't happen in this country, 37:30 it's coming. 37:31 Why is it coming? 37:33 Because Satan hates everything that God loves. 37:39 God loves people. 37:40 Satan hates people. 37:42 He wants to destroy. 37:43 "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, 37:46 and to kill, and to destroy." 37:49 So I ask you today. 37:51 Whenever you exalt God's commandments, 37:54 whenever you preach the Three Angels Message, 37:57 make sure that underneath your preaching, 38:01 there is love. Amen. 38:04 Don't argue because once you start to argue, 38:07 you don't know whether you're doing it for Jesus 38:09 or to make yourself look good. 38:12 Tell it in love. 38:14 Tell it in love. 38:18 Two Attitudes, the attitude of the saved, 38:22 the attitude of the lost. 38:25 The attitude of the saved is humble, 38:28 teachable, willing to stand correction. 38:33 In your Bible, if you would look with me at 2 Timothy 3:16, 38:39 this is what it says. 38:40 2 Timothy 3:16, it says there, 38:46 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, 38:51 and is profitable," for what? 38:53 "For doctrine, for reproof, for correction, 38:57 for instruction in righteousness, 38:59 that the man of God may be perfect, 39:02 throughly furnished unto all good works." 39:07 Apart of God's dealing with us is correction 39:14 and reproof as well as instructions. 39:20 The Holy Spirit of God wants to prepare our characters 39:25 for the soon return of Jesus. 39:28 Whatever He sees in us that is unlike Jesus, 39:32 He is going to direct our attention to it 39:36 that we might surrender it to Him. 39:40 Only those who have the attitude of Christ 39:44 will accept reproof. 39:47 Those who have the attitude of Satan 39:50 will resent the truth, will fight the truth, 39:54 but those who have the attitude of Christ will say, 39:59 "Speak, Lord, it may hurt me, 40:02 but it's going to help me in the long run." 40:06 I want to share this story that illustrates both attitudes, 40:12 and my wife is involved. 40:16 We were in the city of Chicago, funds were low, 40:22 the amount that we were paid for each week was $40. 40:29 I started out with $33. 40:32 And when I got married, they add some additional funds. 40:38 And so my wife was expecting and I was hungry. 40:46 Now, she didn't say that she was hungry, 40:48 but I said that I was hungry. 40:51 And I had-- 40:53 I think, it was $2.40 tithe in the drawer. 41:01 And I was trying to find a way 41:04 to use that tithe without feeling guilty. 41:11 And so I looked for a text. 41:13 You know, people when you want to do wrong, 41:15 you try to find any kind of text that you can find. 41:20 And I came across the text. 41:22 You know what it says? 41:24 "He that will not provide for His own 41:27 is worse than an infidel." 41:31 And so with that text, I felt that I could 41:34 sort of use it and put it back, 41:38 but the Lord, my wife loves the Lord 41:41 more than she loves me, 41:45 and you should always love the Lord 41:48 more than you love your husband, 41:50 your wife, or your children. 41:55 I came around the corner and she said, 41:58 "There's a strange look on your face." 42:01 She said, "If you are thinking 42:07 about taking that tithe 42:10 and buying food with it, 42:13 I won't eat it." 42:19 Now, if I had the Spirit of Christ, 42:21 I would have received it, but I was upset. 42:28 Here I am thinking about her, 42:30 really thinking about myself, 42:33 and she doesn't have enough appreciation to appreciate me 42:38 and she said, "What we need to do 42:40 is get on our knees and pray." 42:44 Well, at that time, I wasn't in the mood to pray. 42:48 She had already just hurt me, hurt my ego, 42:54 that false pride that we have. 42:56 It's always there. 42:58 It's right there in the wings waiting to be invited on stage. 43:02 Self never dies. 43:04 Self is always ready with a bow tie on 43:06 and tuxedo to come on stage in your house and in my house. 43:12 And unless you submit your will to the will of Jesus Christ, 43:16 self will take over. 43:17 That's why Jesus said, "Watch and pray 43:20 that you enter not into temptation, 43:22 the spirit indeed is" what? 43:24 "Willing," but the flesh is what? 43:26 And the flesh never gets strong. 43:28 You can't find one text in the Bible 43:30 where the flesh ever gets strong. 43:34 It's a submission to the Will of God. 43:36 And so she said, "Let's pray." 43:38 Well, I wasn't in the frame of mind to pray. 43:42 And then she looked at me and she said, 43:45 "I really don't think you're in attitude to pray. 43:51 Let me pray." 43:53 And so she prayed. 43:57 And when she prayed and I got up off my knees, 44:03 I thought I heard a knock at the door, 44:08 but self does not want God to answer prayer. 44:17 And so I said-- she said to me, 44:21 she said, "Did you hear a knock at the door?" 44:25 And I said--I said, "The Lord has answered your prayer 44:28 that fast, dear." 44:32 You may have somebody in your house 44:35 that talks like that to you when you want to follow God. 44:40 Don't worry about it. 44:42 Follow the Lord anyway. 44:45 And so I said, "If there was anyone at the door, 44:48 there's a glass in the door, 44:50 you could see who was at the door. 44:52 There's nobody at the door." 44:53 She said, "Would you go to the door for me." 44:56 I said, "Certainly, I'll go." 44:57 I went to the door, opened the door up. 45:00 And, ladies and gentlemen, this didn't happen to Abraham, 45:03 Isaac or Jacob. 45:06 This happened in the Kelly family. 45:11 There was a big box of groceries on the steps 45:17 and a man going down the steps. 45:21 You would think that I would be happy 45:25 that my wife's prayer was answered. 45:28 I wasn't happy 45:31 because pride is never happy with anybody's weight, 45:36 but its own. 45:38 So I told him and I said, "Mister, 45:39 we didn't order any groceries." 45:41 He said, "Is your name Kelly? 45:43 I said, "Yes, it is." 45:45 She said, "These groceries were ordered 45:47 this morning at 9 o'clock. 45:49 We're just now bringing them after my wife finished praying." 45:56 Whenever you come in to God's truth, 46:01 truth can cut you one way or another. 46:04 If you have the attitude of Christ, 46:07 you'll accept the reproof, you'll accept the correction, 46:11 you'll accept the instruction in righteousness 46:15 and you'll be wiser and better for it. 46:18 When you read Proverbs 9:8-- No, I won't turn there. 46:21 When you read Proverbs 9:8, 46:23 you know what you're gonna find? 46:24 "If you reprove a scorner, he will hate you. 46:28 If you reprove a wise man, he will love you." 46:32 If the person has the Spirit of Christ, 46:34 they will accept reproof. 46:36 No matter how much it hurts, they'll accept it. 46:40 Also, the Lord will reprove us. 46:42 And one of the most difficult things to handle is success. 46:50 Success is one of the most difficult things to handle 46:53 because Satan is right there to make you think 46:56 you are more than what you are. 47:01 All of God's leaders who failed, failed 47:05 when they were riding the crests of the waves. 47:12 Moses was just a little while from the Promised Land. 47:20 He hadn't lost his temper in a sinful way 47:23 all of those 40 years, but he is almost at the Promised Land, 47:27 and God says, "Moses, Just speak to the rock. 47:32 Speak to the rock." 47:36 Somehow Moses took it out of God's hand 47:42 and that same temper that he had when he killed that Egyptian, 47:46 it hadn't gone anywhere and neither has your temper. 47:54 It's only as you submit yourself to Jesus, 47:57 every day, morning and night, morning and night, 48:00 those things that have been in your flesh, 48:02 they're still there. 48:04 And once you let go of the hand of the Lord, 48:06 you cannot be an overcomer, but when you hold to His hand, 48:10 and Moses smote that rock 48:12 and ruined the beautiful lesson that God wanted Israel to know 48:16 that once he smote the rock, Christ was to die one time. 48:20 After that come in his name. 48:24 Elijah had just come off of Mount Carmel. 48:31 Elijah had run in front of Ahab's chariot 48:35 in the blinding driving rain 48:38 all the way back to Jezreel. 48:41 What happened? 48:43 Jezebel said she was going to kill him. 48:49 And Elijah began to run. 48:52 When God blesses you with talents and abilities 48:56 and skills, they don't belong to you, 49:00 He just lends them to you. 49:05 The Lord is not hard up for talent. 49:11 If you don't believe it, 49:13 the greatest musician that the universe has ever known, 49:19 he put him out because he had a bad attitude. 49:29 And He is not going to take us in with a bad attitude. 49:33 We're going to be like Jesus when we go into His kingdom. 49:39 The attitude of Satan, stubborn, rebellious, 49:44 haughty, proud. 49:47 Never say I am wrong. 49:49 I look at the marriages today. 49:53 Pride is one of the greatest breakers of marriage. 49:58 Nobody will humble themselves. 50:01 Not too far from here there's a post office 50:04 and I was coming out of the post office one day 50:07 and I saw these two cars, two ladies were in the car 50:12 and they were coming and they were facing each other. 50:16 And they were both going into the same space. 50:21 Let me tell you what happened. 50:24 Neither lady wouldn't move, 50:29 no one would back down, they just sat there. 50:38 Has the Lord spoken to you in your marriage? 50:44 Has He spoken to you about your children? 50:49 You may have said something the Holy Spirit told you, 50:52 you need to go back and make it right. 50:56 Are you too proud to go back and make it right? 51:03 No matter how much wrong the other mate has made, 51:06 nothing takes place of your humility 51:10 to make things right. 51:13 It came to my attention 51:15 that so many times people call for anointing 51:20 and when the anointing comes, the one thing that must be said, 51:27 "Do you have anything against anyone anywhere?" 51:35 I must tell you, more than I would like to confess, 51:40 many people have said I need to get something straight 51:45 before we have this service. 51:48 I want to invite you today 51:51 to choose the attitude of Jesus Christ. 51:56 I've seen it so much in church, in schools. 52:01 The attitude of the enemy, stubborn, won't yield, 52:08 too proud to admit that I was wrong, 52:12 unwilling to be humble enough for God to lead you. 52:17 I'd like for you to know that every time you go to church, 52:22 if you know someone has something against you, 52:25 you should not go to church. 52:28 If you know that someone has something against you 52:32 without going and getting it right. 52:35 Those are not my words. 52:37 Those are the words of Jesus. 52:39 "If you come to the altar and there remember 52:43 that your brother hath ought against you, 52:45 leave there thy gift. 52:47 First, be reconciled to thy brother 52:50 and then come and offer thy gift." 52:53 Well, one Sabbath morning, it was my turn. 53:00 There was a young lady who had quite a bit against me 53:06 and had verbalized it to many, 53:12 but that morning, the Holy Spirit said to me, 53:17 "Don't get in that pulpit 53:20 until you go to her house." 53:25 Lord, I haven't said anything about her. 53:29 Don't get in that pulpit until you go to her house. 53:36 Well, I haven't wrong-- 53:38 "You must go." 53:41 Brothers and sisters, if you don't allow Jesus 53:44 to give you His Spirit, you will be too proud 53:48 to humble yourself and to make things right. 53:54 I drove finally, I was scared to go to the church 53:58 and I drove past her street and I turned around 54:04 and then drove past again. 54:07 You know why? 54:09 Self doesn't die a natural death. 54:13 It has to be brought often in contact 54:16 with the cross of Calvary. 54:18 You must linger long at the cross of Calvary 54:20 and see Him crucified, naked, on that cross for us, 54:24 and then whatever things 54:26 we think are too hard for us to do, 54:28 they're not hard to do, they're only our pride 54:31 and that can't go to heaven anyway. 54:36 Finally, I went down her street and past the house. 54:42 Flesh, still fighting. 54:46 He revealed to me the cross. 54:49 How ashamed I should be. 54:53 I said, "Lord, what am I gonna say to her?" 54:56 You are not at the door yet. 55:03 And I must tell you that if He told me 55:05 what He told me at the door, 55:09 it would have been a harder battle. 55:12 He said, "I want you-- when you get to the door 55:16 and when you see her, I want you to say to her, 55:21 'Would you please forgive me for whatever I have done 55:28 that has made you feel the way you feel toward me?'" 55:32 By the time I got to the door, 55:35 Jesus had humbled my heart. 55:41 When I got to the door, finally got to see her, 55:45 I said the exact words that I was supposed to say. 55:50 She looked at me and she said, 55:54 "You haven't done anything to me. 55:57 I've done everything to you. 56:00 Would you please forgive me?" 56:04 How was I to know that by the age 29, 56:08 she would be dead, but she lived such a godly life 56:15 to the day of her death. 56:18 I want to invite you to let Jesus Christ 56:24 give you His attitude of humility 56:29 and love and forget the false pride. 56:35 It can't go to the kingdom. 56:39 As the Psalmist says "Not I, but Christ 56:43 be honored, loved, exalted. 56:47 Not I, but Christ, be seen, be known, be heard." 56:53 Please, let Jesus perfect His character, 56:58 His attitude of loving you, 57:02 and when you read 1 John 3 where it says, 57:07 "Behold, what manner of love 57:11 the Father hath bestowed upon us, 57:15 that we should be called the sons of God." 57:16 And it does not yet appear what we shall be, 57:21 but we know that when He shall appear, 57:26 we shall be like Him for we shall see Him as He is. 57:33 There are gonna be two groups of people, 57:36 every nation, kindred, tongue, and people in heaven. 57:44 Every nation, kindred, tongue, and people in hell. 57:51 Choose which group by the attitude you maintain now. 57:59 I pray that Jesus' death on the cross 58:05 will not be in vain for any of us. 58:10 Eternal Father in Heaven, 58:15 thank You for Your example of love, 58:22 humility, service. 58:26 Make us the people that we should be 58:31 that others will want to know You 58:35 because we represent You. To Your name's honor and glory, 58:41 we pray, in Jesus' name. Amen. |
