01:00 Lord Jesus we thank you so much for the
01:02 beauty of another day. 01:04 We thank you Lord that even on the eve 01:06 of the Sabbath we can all gather here 01:09 and ponder the hope that we have 01:11 in your second coming. 01:12 We acknowledge your presence with us 01:15 and ask that your Holy Spirit will touch 01:18 each heart and each mind so that we will be able 01:21 to absorb all that we hear and be changed 01:24 to be better witnesses for you, 01:26 and to have a deeper relationship 01:28 with Jesus Christ. Thank you in Jesus name, 01:32 Amen. You may be seated. 01:37 Well at this time, we would like to welcome 01:41 Harold Lance to the podium with me. 01:44 And you remember that each night we have been 01:47 just taking a walk back and looking at some of the 01:49 humble beginnings of ASI and we thought 01:52 that we would talk to a couple people 01:53 that have been around for a while. 01:55 I understand that Harold Lance has been 01:57 a member of ASI for 32 years. 02:00 And Harold I'd like your perspective on 02:02 what things are different from 02:04 when you first a part of ASI. Probably tonight 02:07 is the easiest comparison we have probably a 150 02:12 young people here. In the old days we didn't have 02:15 the young people here. As a matter of fact 02:18 our conventions were scheduled for October 02:22 when they were in school they couldn't be here. 02:24 So that's a difference. Well, that's pretty 02:27 remarkable because we can hardly think of 02:29 ASI without our young people. 02:32 That's true. There were some other differences 02:34 will have I think over 2000 people 02:38 for lunch tomorrow. In the old days we had 02:42 a 150 to 200, and then often after the convention 02:48 was over we scheduled a kind of a vacation 02:53 trip to go to see mission places around the world 02:57 and it involved many of the group. 03:01 May be a fourth of them would go on 03:02 the mission trip. We can't take you 03:04 all that way now. 03:08 Is there anything else that's different 03:10 that strikes you? Well, I don't think the 03:15 differences between now and then they are 03:17 significant as the similarities. 03:20 The similarities I believe are the powerful things 03:24 about ASI, we still have that hope. 03:28 We still sing like we mean it. 03:31 We still have a belief in the Bible 03:33 and the spirit of prophecies 03:34 are guiding light. We have a corporation 03:37 with the leadership of the church 03:39 and we covet that relationship 03:41 and we have the hope of Jesus soon coming. 03:44 Well, that's a pretty powerful reflection 03:47 and I want to thank you Harold 03:48 for taking it back for us. Thank you. 04:00 Just a minute Debbie, wait Debbie, hello Debbie. 04:07 Hello ASI family. I don't want Debbie to leave yet, 04:12 you see our ASI family out there Debbie, 04:15 isn't it a wonderful crowd that we have 04:17 here this year? Tremendous yes! 04:20 We know Debbie has been serving our ASI family 04:23 for the last four years and it's been a privilege 04:26 to be Debbie's friend. And we as a family 04:31 wanted to say thank you to Debbie 04:33 for serving our family. 04:36 And we have flowers for you that's 04:39 pretty obvious there, they are beautiful 04:41 just like you are Debbie. Thank you Donna, 04:43 you are beautiful on the outside and in the inside. 04:46 And then in this gift here there is a globe 04:50 of the world because you have been using 04:53 as your theme tell the world, tell them now. 04:57 And we appreciate everything that 05:00 that you have done for ASI to spread 05:03 the gospel around the world. 05:06 Thank you Debbie for everything that 05:08 you have done, we love you and we know 05:10 your are not gone and guess 05:12 what I am not letting you go. so thank you. 05:21 You welcome. Donna thank you so much, 05:27 and I am looking forward to supporting you 05:29 as you pickup the helm and keep moving ASI forward. 05:32 Thank you. Thank you. 05:45 Good evening. Good evening. 05:47 Here at ASI we take our young people 05:51 very seriously; our dedicated leaders 05:55 have worked hard to provide interesting 05:58 and uplifting program for our 06:00 ASI children and youth. The primary purpose 06:04 of our programs is not to entertain 06:08 but to train our young people. 06:11 Our leaders have arranged many 06:13 inspirational speakers, we have mission reports, 06:17 uplifting music, we have crafts 06:20 and we also provide opportunities to get our 06:24 young people involved in service 06:26 and outreach projects right here at ASI. 06:30 This evening I would like you to meet some very 06:33 dedicated leaders from our youth departments 06:36 who will be sharing some of the highlights 06:38 from their classes, and I want to recognize 06:41 all of the work, all of the prayer 06:44 and all of the hours that our leaders 06:47 have spent planning and preparing these 06:50 inspirational meanings for our young people. 06:58 Good evening. We have the kindergarten class here 07:02 and our theme this year was Missionaries Now, 07:06 Jesus fills my cup. And instead of me sharing 07:09 what we have done I am gonna let the children 07:12 share because we share what we receive. 07:16 Okay children our missionary is called 07:20 to spread what? The Gospel! 07:23 The Gospel, right! What is the gospel? 07:27 The power to choose Jesus! 07:31 The power to choose Jesus, good! 07:34 And where do we get our fuel? 07:38 Anything, everywhere we receive from 07:42 the mouth of God. Very good, 07:46 but we first need to see our need, don't we? Okay. 08:00 I see you dear oh my Lord, 08:04 I give you my soul. 08:09 Let's sing for Him and believe in Him, 08:14 I am waiting for the day when He will come, 08:20 someone is waiting for the Lord before. 08:27 Very good, now to be a missionary 08:30 how old do we have to be? 08:32 Any age, any age right. 08:36 And who do we have to know? 08:40 God, Jesus, Jesus right. 08:44 What will he do for us, fill our mind, 08:48 hearts with what? Fill our mind hearts with love. 08:53 Right, with love. And what should we do with 08:58 what we have with this love, 09:00 should we share what we receive? 09:03 Yes, yes oh we want to share. 09:05 And when do we start? 09:07 Now, now okay. Where is our mind, heart? 09:15 Jesus come into my heart, 09:19 into my heart and above, 09:23 And bless his little children 09:27 and our Lord is sweet. 09:31 Sweet Lord, Sweet Lord, 09:35 trying to follow your steps, 09:39 give him your heart and he will take your hand. 09:48 Forgive dear Lord all our sins 09:51 and shall every single be, 09:56 You come and give your heart 09:59 and Jesus take my heart. 10:03 Sweet Lord, sweet Lord 10:07 trying to follow your steps, 10:11 and give him your heart and he will take your hand. 10:20 Thank you, we will go right this side. 10:43 You know it's been a real blessing work 10:45 in the primary department this year. 10:46 And our theme has been called to prepare 10:49 God's people. And we have been studying 10:52 the life of Joseph, how God has called Joseph 10:55 at a young age to do almighty work 10:58 and save the lives of many people. 11:00 You know God extends that call to us, 11:03 to reach out in this dying world to help prepare 11:05 others for Jesus soon return. 11:08 ASI is all about service and our primary 11:11 department has adopted a service program. 11:14 We have adopted It's My Very Own, 11:18 and what they do, they make bags of love. 11:20 And they give these bags of love to children 11:24 who taken them from their homes 11:26 and put in the foster care. 11:28 And Caleb can you tell me some of the things 11:30 that we put in these bags of love. 11:32 Well for example crayons, 11:34 stuffed animals, shampoo, soap 11:37 and though they are just a few of them. 11:39 Just a few now more, right. 11:41 And Nichole is there some that 11:43 you brought from home. 11:45 I brought quilts for the foster kids. 11:49 Quilts for the foster kids! You know it gave me 11:51 great joy and please to see that the primary class 11:55 and their parents with enthusiasm bring 11:56 all these gifts and stuffs to put 11:58 in these bags of love. And at this time 12:00 they would like to sing our theme song. 12:14 Hark! the voice of Jesus calling, 12:19 "Who will go and work today? 12:24 Fields are white, the harvest waiting, 12:29 Who will bear the sheaves away?" 12:34 Loud and long the Master calleth, 12:38 Let his work your pleasure be. 12:43 Answer quickly when he calleth, 12:48 "Here am I. O Lord, send me!" 12:54 If you cannot cross the ocean 12:58 And the heathen lands explore, 13:09 You can help them at your door; 13:13 Loud and long the Master calleth, 13:17 Let his work your pleasure be. 13:22 Answer quickly when he calleth, 13:27 "Here am I. O Lord, send me!" 13:32 While the souls of men are dying, 13:37 And the Master calls for you, 13:41 Let none hear you idly saying, 13:46 "There is nothing I can do!" 13:51 Loud and long the Master calleth, 13:56 Let his work your pleasure be. 14:00 Answer quickly when he calleth, 14:05 "Here am I. O Lord, send me!" 14:10 "Here am I. O Lord, send me!" 14:34 Hi my name is Ted Evert. 14:35 I have been the Junior Leader for 14:37 the 10 to 12 year olds and I have been spending 14:41 a lot of time with your 10 to 12 year olds 14:44 the last few days. But I have to say it's been 14:46 a total pleasure, and I really want to thank 14:49 each of you as parents and guardians 14:52 for raising up such an incredible 14:53 army of young people. And I really accounted 14:57 a privilege to have been able to be a part of it. 15:00 Nichole has been my assistant leader 15:02 and she is going to talk about the mission project 15:04 that we have been working on. 15:07 Good evening, it has been a true blessing to work 15:11 with your children and to see their hard work 15:14 that they have put into our mission project. 15:17 And we are actually putting together 15:19 some care packages for the orphans in Kenya 15:24 with East African missions. 15:26 And these boxes are actually shoe boxes 15:30 and there are going to the orphans. 15:34 And they are currently 99 orphans there in 15:38 East African mission orphanage 15:40 and each child will be receiving their own box 15:43 with certain items in them. 15:46 And we wanted to fill these boxes with things 15:49 that would inspire the children and be a blessing 15:53 to them physically, mentally and spiritually. 15:56 And I actually have some assistants here; 15:59 they are going to show you some of the items 16:02 that are going into our boxes. 16:04 These aren't all of them but these are some 16:06 of the items that we are including. 16:09 Each orphan will be receiving some 16:12 hygiene items, some toothbrush, 16:16 toothpaste and a comb, 16:19 as well as some other things. 16:21 And some fun items like a teddy bear 16:24 and little bags that the children decorated 16:28 and also our steps to Christ 16:32 and some character building stories 16:34 that are just a little pamphlet and we know 16:37 that God is going to tremendously bless 16:40 these boxes as they go over to the orphans. 16:43 And the children have made or donated 16:47 all of the items that are going in these boxes 16:50 and they are actually currently trying to get 16:54 donations for the, for the shipping of these boxes 17:00 and they are doing a wonderful job, 17:02 and they are well on that way to our goal 17:06 for the shipping cost. And I know that God is 17:10 going to tremendously bless the orphans as well as 17:13 the children that have put these boxes together. 17:17 Well our theme has been soldiers for truth, 17:21 and may be the, they seem kind of young 17:23 to already be soldiers but yet they are soldiers 17:26 in the army of Christ, isn't that true. 17:29 And so to finish off our program 17:32 we are going to sing Onward Christian Soldiers. 17:45 Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war, 17:53 With the cross of Jesus going on before. 18:02 Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe; 18:11 Forward into battle see His banners go! 18:19 Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war, 18:27 With the cross of Jesus going on before. 18:47 Happy Sabbath Day ASI. Maria, Lotte, Kemp 18:50 and I have had the opportunity 18:51 and the privilege of working with 18:53 your early teens. Our theme this year 18:56 has been transformed by His loving hand 18:58 and our goal has been to show your early 19:01 teens how God through His love 19:04 can transform their lives. In the evening 19:07 we have been listening to J. Rosario share 19:11 messages about how God has transformed 19:13 the lives of people in the New and Old Testament. 19:17 Taken them from where they were which was 19:19 a life of nothing to a life that is truly making 19:23 a difference in the world 19:24 and turning the world upside down. 19:26 Joe, I brought up some of the early teens up 19:29 with me and Joe has something 19:30 he wants to share that he learned during 19:32 J. Rosario's speech, Joe. Well we've been learning 19:36 about ugly Mary Magdalene how she was changed 19:40 from being a street person and a harlot 19:46 to being a beautiful girl And how was she changed? 19:51 By God's grace. And how does that apply 19:53 to your own life? I think that each one of us 19:57 should we as people are ugly caterpillars 20:01 but by God's grace we can become 20:03 beautiful butterflies. And that's we want our young 20:06 people to see that. Well, we may have a life 20:09 that feels empty, if we will submit to the 20:10 love of God that will become changed 20:13 in beautiful men and women for God. 20:17 On Thursday we also wanted our young people 20:20 to see that the Bible they believe in is true 20:24 and scientifically founded on that they don't have 20:26 to be embarrassed about their faith. 20:28 So, on Thursday we took them to the 20:30 Creation Museum which is about two hour drive. 20:32 And when we are at the Creation Museum 20:34 they saw that the Bible is scientifically 20:38 the most valid solution, the most valid 20:42 explanation for why, for why we exist today. 20:48 And while we were there Lisa Murray 20:51 there was an exhibit that you really 20:52 enjoyed men in white, tell us about it. 20:55 Well I really enjoyed the show but my favorite 20:57 part was when they showed us Noah's Ark 21:00 and during the whole thing they splashed 21:02 water on our faces which is really fun. 21:05 Yes, what is with the splashing on your face 21:07 but what did you leave with? 21:08 Well I learned the creation is real 21:12 and there aren't really are scientific 21:14 facts to prove it. Amen, so we went through 21:18 the Creation Museum, we went through 21:20 the exhibits and then at the very 21:21 end Haley there was an exhibit that 21:24 you really enjoyed, what was that? 21:26 There was a planetarium it was like where 21:28 the seats go back and we look up like at the ceiling 21:32 and all these stars are there. 21:34 And we are like this tiny little earth 21:37 and God created it so small yet he cares 21:39 about us so much. And all the other 21:42 planets are like almost all bigger then ours 21:45 yet he cares about this tiny little earth 21:47 and all these tiny little people. 21:50 Wow, isn't that amazing? 21:51 I remember when I was there as well. 21:52 You look at this they take you from our little 21:55 tiny earth and they zoom way, way, way, 21:57 way out all the way out into the entire universe 21:58 and you are looking at the universe. 22:00 You cannot even see where our little planet 22:04 is and yet God sacrifice his entire life that 22:08 we might have eternal life. 22:09 And that is what we wanted our young people 22:11 to see that God loves them 22:12 and as they see this they will be transformed. 22:15 But it goes beyond scene that God loves you. 22:17 We want them to share that love with others. 22:20 And so this afternoon we went 22:21 and did an outreach of sharing God's love 22:24 with the community around us. 22:26 Jennifer you had an amazing experience 22:28 while we were doing that. Tell us about that? 22:30 Well me and my friend we decided, 22:34 we wanted to go over to this one girl 22:36 that was impressed to talk to and I decide 22:40 I was going to give her and sing the song 22:42 God is love. And as I go over to her 22:46 and say here you want this Jesus loves you 22:48 and she gets so excited just like Oh! 22:50 I am so excited. I do not know Jesus loves me. 22:55 So it's very cool. Imagine there are people 22:57 around here that didn't know Jesus loves them 23:00 and yet our early teens went out there 23:02 and shared the love of God and there is someone 23:04 that now knows that Jesus loves them, amen. 23:08 We have enjoyed working with them, 23:09 we have one of our early team 23:11 and we will continue enjoying them 23:13 through this weekend. Thank you very much. 23:23 Good evening, my name is Rob Neil 23:26 and I have been working with the 23:27 youth department here at ASI. 23:29 And it's always a joy to be here and experience 23:33 the enthusiasm that young people have to love 23:35 and serve their Lord. 23:37 This is the 16 to 18 years old 23:38 and I have two of our youth with me here 23:43 Jimmy Glaser and Crystal Case. 23:48 I knew I was going to do this, 23:49 Crystal Case, Crystal Case. 23:52 And we have enjoyed working together 23:55 and Crystal what has been the theme of our program 23:59 here at ASI this year in the youth department. 24:01 It's one life to live, one life to live. 24:04 What does that mean in practical terms, 24:06 what are we learned about one life to live? 24:08 Well virtually to sum it out is just you know 24:11 we have, you know such a short time on this earth 24:13 and you know we only have this one life 24:16 and we want to do whatever we can to do 24:18 in Jesus service you know. 24:19 Do whatever we can for him in this 24:21 one life service. One life to live and making it 24:25 count for God and for eternity. 24:28 Jimmy what part of the programming has impacted 24:32 your life or may be was a special blessing to you. 24:34 Well one of my favorite talks we had was from 24:37 Dr. Samuel Pipim and he talked about living life 24:41 as in excellence and that was a really great 24:44 message that we receive from him. 24:46 I believe it was last night so, 24:49 had various speakers coming in speaking 24:52 Jay Rosario, our morning devotional speakers, 24:55 also testimony sharing witnessing experiences 24:59 and conversion experiences in our youth department. 25:02 But you know one of the best ways of helping 25:04 young people catch a vision of making their life 25:07 matter for God is to get them involved in service. 25:10 And so we on Thursday 81 ASI youth had the 25:14 opportunity of loading up on buses 25:16 and going to eight different service projects 25:19 in the Downtown Louisville area and making 25:22 a difference in the lives of disadvantaged 25:24 people here in Louisville. 25:27 Crystal what eight different service 25:30 projects did you have the opportunity to chose 25:32 from this year? Okay, well we had quite a few, 25:35 we had five with habitat for humanity 25:39 and two of them were women only like 25:41 constructions sites. They are building new houses. 25:44 And then two were just general construction sites 25:47 where anyone that want to go. 25:48 And then we had one it was like building 25:50 foundations for new houses. 25:52 And then wayside ministries for, 25:57 Wayside was it, Wayside Christian Ministries, 25:59 always forget that. But, yeah they had three areas 26:04 that you could work in; one was working there 26:08 helping paint a day room at the men's 26:11 homeless center. And there was a daycare center 26:15 for helping the homeless people 26:17 watch the kids and stuff. 26:19 And then they had the bicycle repair. 26:22 Jimmy is homelessness a very large problem 26:26 here in Downtown Louisville? 26:28 Well like any large city homelessness is getting 26:33 to be a very large epidemic and there 26:37 is a stat that says that Louisville 26:39 has about a 11,000 homeless people 26:41 on the streets. So hopefully we made 26:44 a difference in our community service 26:46 outreach. Working with the homeless people 26:48 and its amazing a 11,000 people they estimate 26:52 in the Louisville area. And so you had the 26:55 opportunity of learning about the plight of many 26:57 of these people and helping out. 26:59 Now which project, which particular project 27:01 did you chose to be involved in? 27:03 Well at the Wayside Mission they had 27:05 a bicycle shop and the last thing I thought 27:08 I was be going to able to do at ASI was be able 27:11 to work on bicycles and. You like to work on, 27:13 you like to work on bicycles. 27:15 I certainly do, bicycles are one of my passions 27:18 and so I was able to work on bicycles 27:21 and the way that works is. 27:23 Did you bring your bicycle to Louisville? 27:26 I sure did I brought my own bike. 27:28 Before he went and worked fixing bikes 27:31 he cycled 35 miles that morning before we arrive. 27:36 I was excited to know I had an experienced 27:38 bicycle person, they love bicycles 27:39 and was able to use his talents for the Lord. 27:42 And so what was the like when you arrive 27:43 there at the bicycle shop. 27:45 Well when I first got there it looked like 27:48 somebody had tipped over every single bike. 27:50 There is about a 100 different bicycles 27:52 in the shop with various disrepair, 27:55 tires land all over the ground, we had no tools. 27:58 Whatsoever expect for a basically a mechanic shop 28:01 that was in the back, so we had to use what tools 28:03 we could to fix the bikes. 28:06 And why would a homeless person 28:09 Downtown Louisville need a bike? 28:11 Well that's what I thought, 28:13 I didn't know that at first but when 28:15 I learned the real reason was when homeless 28:18 people at the Wayside Mission they teach them 28:21 how to get back into the real world. 28:22 They give, they give them lessons of how to get 28:25 a job and everything. And once they get 28:27 a job its hard for a homeless person to get 28:29 a car right away. So if we can give them 28:31 a bike they can use public transportation 28:34 and then if there is another mile 28:36 or two they ride to their job. 28:37 They can use the bike. 28:39 And so when you were finished how many 28:41 of those bikes were you able to refurbish 28:43 they naturally try out and get working 28:44 for the homeless people. Well when we got there, 28:46 there is a lot of different you know, 28:49 different kinds of bikes but the main problem 28:51 was that some were in too bad of shape 28:53 to get fixed right away. So we kind a did 28:56 a three hours program and got them separated 28:58 and we ended up fixing about 30 different bikes 29:02 and got them road worthy. Amen. 29:06 It's exciting to get young people 29:09 involved in service. Working with habitat, 29:11 fixing bikes, helping homeless people 29:14 and hopefully they will catch a vision 29:17 as we are told that it is in service that 29:19 our greatest joy and highest education 29:22 is found and there is no better way to make 29:25 your one life to live for God 29:28 then through its service. 29:42 Good evening, happy Sabbath. 29:47 It is good to be here at ASI on the Sabbath 29:49 yes, yes. Well this year we have had 29:53 a wonderful time and God has blessed so much 29:57 that we can't even begin to tell you 30:00 and describe to you what has happened 30:01 here this summer. And we have, 30:04 this is a ASI Youth For Jesus Program, 30:07 this is the program that you sponsor, 30:10 that you support, that you pray for 30:14 and God has blessed your efforts, 30:17 your sponsorships, your prayers and 30:20 he has answered in a powerful way. 30:23 And don't they look nice. 30:33 This year we have had evangelistic meetings 30:36 at six sites. There were three Kentucky-Tennessee 30:40 Conference Churches, two Indiana Conference Churches 30:43 which are just across the river here 30:46 and one South Central Regional Conference. 30:50 And the pastors and the conferences 30:53 have just been unreliably supportive and worked. 30:58 And the other day I said I wish I could give 31:00 them medals of honor because 31:03 they just have been, they have gone beyond 31:08 what we normally ask of them. 31:10 And so we just really appreciated 31:12 Pastor Richard Hallock the President 31:15 of the Kentucky-Tennessee Conference, 31:16 Pastor Gary Thurber, President of the 31:18 Indiana Conference, and Pastor Michael Harpe 31:21 was the ASI liaison for the 31:23 South Central Conference. And we just appreciate 31:26 their support so much. We have had 43 youth 31:30 during our program. They come from 12 countries 31:33 and represent 12 states and represent 4 countries. 31:38 We have had 21 Bible workers, 31:41 the Bible workers have been here for all the 31:44 past three or four months doing pre-work 31:48 previous to the start of the evangelistic series. 31:52 And also we have had just the most wonderful 31:55 volunteers staff and I just, I just appreciated 32:00 them so much. We have had just a very 32:03 spiritual filled, just most wonderful 32:08 time to gather, working with the kids 32:10 and praying with them and pleading with them 32:13 and even nagging them. And the kids don't need it; 32:19 do they? But you know on occasion they did 32:24 and some of the wonderful results that 32:30 we have experienced amongst many, 32:32 many testimonies, just, testimonies that would 32:36 just warm your heart and that would inspire 32:39 you which we wish we could share all of them 32:41 with you, but we are going to share a few 32:42 of them with you tonight. 32:43 But the results from the prayers 32:49 and work and the dedication of this group 32:52 have resulted in 149 decisions for baptisms. 33:05 We held a wonderful, wonderful baptismal 33:07 service the other day. 33:08 Some people had been previously baptized 33:11 and the total number of people that have already 33:13 been baptized is 77. And there is 12 schedules 33:17 for not tomorrow because tomorrow 33:20 all the churches are coming here but next 33:23 Sabbath there is 12 more decisions, 33:26 people that have made decisions to be baptized, 33:28 and there is several, several, 33:31 there is many actually that we need 33:33 to still clear. I guess Kentucky is the 33:37 headquarters for some tobacco companies 33:39 or something and so we have many that are 33:41 struggling to overcome that addiction. 33:46 And so we need to really pray for our contacts 33:49 that are still struggling with the issues 33:51 that we need to still clear. 33:52 So keep them in your prayers. 33:56 You know these just may sound like numbers, 33:59 but they are blessings from God, 34:02 and we just want to praise God from whom 34:05 all blessings flow. And our Katie Eager, 34:08 Andrew Eager, and their sister 34:11 Stephanie McNeilus are going to praise God. 34:19 Praise Father, Son, Praise Father, Son, 34:24 Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. 34:35 All people that on earth do dwell, 34:40 Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice. 34:45 Him serve with mirth, his praise forth tell; 34:51 Come ye before Him and rejoice. 34:56 O enter then His gates with joy, 35:02 Within His courts His praise proclaim; 35:08 Let thankful songs your tongues employ, 35:14 O bless and magnify His name. 35:20 Because the Lord our God is good, 35:26 His mercy is forever sure; 35:32 His truth at all times firmly stood, 35:39 And shall from age to age endure. Endure. 35:48 Praise God from whom all blessings flow; 35:55 Praise Him all creatures here below; 36:01 Praise Him above ye heavenly host; 36:09 Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. 36:18 Amen, Amen, Amen. 36:36 Praise God from whom all blessings flow; 36:42 Praise Him all creatures here below; 36:48 Praise Him above ye heavenly host; 36:55 Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. 37:04 Praise Father, Son, Praise Father, Son, 37:09 Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen! 37:38 Amen. You know what I found out doing 37:43 this work that the work of evangelism takes work. 37:48 And it takes a lot of work and we appreciate 37:51 our Bible workers so much, and I would like 37:54 to introduce Kevin Sears to you right now. 37:56 Kevin Sears is the Youth For Jesus coordinator 38:00 and he has been on the ground since January 38:03 working with churches. Why don't you share with, 38:06 with our ASI family the work that you have been 38:09 doing since January and introduce 38:11 the site coordinators? Good evening everyone. 38:14 Good evening! Leasa we haven't gotten past 38:17 the introduction I think we lost them already. 38:19 Good evening everyone. Good evening! 38:22 We are excited to be here tonight, amen. Amen! 38:25 I have the privilege of coming here in January 38:28 to prepare the pre-work for the seminars 38:33 that we are putting on and so then the Bible 38:35 workers came. The coordinators came 38:38 in February, the Bible workers begin coming 38:41 in March and April and May and in June 38:44 and then the youth came in July right before 38:47 our series began. And so I have had the privilege 38:50 of being here in the Louisville area for most 38:53 of this year and it's been a real privilege. 38:56 And tonight I would like to introduce you to the 38:59 coordinators for our all the sites that we had, 39:02 Jim Helman why don't you step forward 39:04 and kind of wave this is Jim Helman. 39:06 He has been with for a couple of years. 39:08 He does a great job. He was coordinating 39:11 the Shelbyville church in Louisville area. 39:16 And who do we; Andrea step forward, 39:18 Andre Shedroff was a coordinator over at 39:22 the Jeffersonville site in Indiana 39:25 and Andrea is originally from Russia 39:29 and he was a Bible worker with us last year 39:31 and now he is a coordinator. 39:32 And Kal Roller, I would like to introduce you. 39:34 Kal come on over here. 39:36 Kal was the, come on over here, Kal. 39:39 Kal was the coordinator and I have a microphone 39:41 for you that I was hiding. 39:43 You wanna put that there. 39:45 Kal was the coordinator for the site at 39:48 the New Albany, Indiana and we could have 39:51 called up either one of these coordinators 39:53 to share many, many, many testimonies 39:55 with you but we don't have the time 39:57 for that unfortunately. But Kal tell us of 39:59 an interesting story that happened 40:02 over in New Albany. 40:03 Well I was out going door to door with 40:05 Michael Reynolds one of the Bible workers 40:07 back here and we met this lady. 40:09 She was very disarming at the door. 40:11 She was very friendly and gentle 40:14 and she took the time to take our survey 40:16 at the door, and through our conversation 40:20 she revealed to us that she has a religious 40:24 studies major. She has a degree in religious 40:27 studies and yet she didn't really understand 40:31 the books of Daniel and Revelation 40:32 that well, and so she really wanted to 40:35 understand. I mean this is perfect. 40:38 And so we studied that very Sunday. 40:41 We met here on Thursday, on Sunday 40:44 we studied with her Daniel chapter 2 40:47 and that is an extraordinary study 40:49 in the Bible. It's one of the most powerful 40:51 tools we have in sharing with people that 40:53 Jesus is coming and also that the Bible is true. 40:56 Amen. Now that Sunday she also revealed to us 41:03 that she had drifted away from the Lord 41:05 and she was under conviction from the 41:07 Holy Spirit that she should return 41:09 to the Lord. That Sunday she loved the 41:11 Bible study and at the end she told us 41:14 why she let us in, why she took the survey 41:17 from us and here is why. She had this dream 41:22 that there was a white beat up car parked 41:24 in front of her house and on the same day 41:28 that this white beat up car was in front 41:30 of her house these two young men came 41:32 to her door. That Thursday morning 41:35 she saw this car in front of her house 41:38 and she knew that two gentlemen 41:41 would approach for that very day. 41:42 And that's when Michael and I showed up 41:44 at her door, extraordinary. 41:47 That was the Sunday before the meeting 41:49 started that Friday only five days before 41:52 the meeting started we had her first and only 41:55 Bible study with her. She came to most of the 41:57 meetings and she is now preparing 41:59 to be baptized. Amen, amen. Thank you Kal. 42:04 Again we could share many 42:06 and we will share some more stories 42:08 but we couldn't even scratch the surface 42:11 of all the incredible miracles that took place 42:14 in such a short time here in the Louisville area. 42:17 So thank you and God bless you. 42:24 You know I wish we had time to share 42:26 these testimonies with you every morning 42:29 during our worship we have a testimony time. 42:31 And you know I have been churches where 42:34 the Pastor says now it's our praise 42:36 and testimony time does anybody have anything 42:38 to say and you know we are to sit there. 42:42 And you know sometimes we don't have anything 42:46 to say but that's not the case with Youth for Jesus. 42:49 When it's time to tell testimonies every hand 42:51 goes up and they come up and they line up 42:54 and they just tell one wonderful testimony 42:56 after another of contacts they have made, 42:59 interest they have met and people that they 43:02 brought to the meetings, and so this is just 43:05 an exciting, exciting program. Now we have, 43:10 you've met four of the six coordinators 43:13 and we had two other sites. 43:15 One was the South Central Regional Conference 43:19 and that site was coordinated by the 43:23 NAPS group from Oakwood College. 43:25 And I would like Bryan and Jean to come up 43:28 and these gentlemen are part of an organization 43:33 called NAPS from Oakwood College. 43:36 And why don't you tell us why you took 43:40 this time to come and help us at ASI. 43:44 Well thank you Leasa, 43:45 well my name is Jean Lubin, 43:46 Oakwood student missionary volunteers 43:48 with the organization called NAPS 43:50 and that stands for the National Association 43:52 for the Prevention of Starvation 43:54 and well God worked miracles throughout 43:59 the meetings eleven souls who wanted the 44:00 Kingdom and Bryan has more testimonies 44:05 on how the lives of families were changed. 44:08 You know we spend time with them 44:10 and God we worked upon their hearts to give 44:13 their lives to Lord, Bryan. Well Jean mentioned 44:16 we working with families and that certainly 44:18 was the highlight of working with the youth 44:20 for Jesus campaign this year. 44:22 One family that I was able to work with 44:24 was a family of three. 44:26 The mother she was 65 years old 44:28 and she had two daughters and she had a problem 44:32 with smoking and there were some things 44:34 going on in the family. And they were searching 44:36 for truth; they were looking for something 44:38 better in life. We came knocked on their 44:41 door one day and we asked them 44:43 if they would like to have Bible studies 44:45 and they agree. And after we were able 44:48 to have Bible studies with this family we had 44:50 this chance to see their family be reunited again. 44:55 And she had a problem with smoking. 44:57 She started smoking when she was 16 years old. 45:01 I remind you she is 65 so she has been almost 45:03 smoking for 50 years, but through the power 45:06 of Holy Spirit and through us working 45:08 with her and showing her love, 45:09 she was able to give up those cigarettes 45:11 and not only to give that up but to be baptized. 45:15 And one of her daughters was baptized 45:17 with her as well. Thank you so much. 45:23 Now what was the result from your efforts 45:26 and how did God bless? 45:28 God truly blessed. We also had a chance 45:31 to do a children's program. 45:32 This is another way that we were able to get 45:35 into the people's homes. We have a sort of 45:39 vacation Bible school style outlined for them 45:41 but it's really focused on teaching the kids 45:44 the Bible truth adoptions that we find 45:46 in the Bible and the Lord really blessed. 45:49 We really sowed seeds into those kids 45:51 and as a result of that when we had our 45:53 evangelistic meeting several of the parents 45:56 came and received and accepted the 45:58 word of God. Amen. Thank you so much. 46:07 we also had a site that was we called out 46:10 satellite site. When we first came down to 46:12 the Kentucky-Tennessee Conference to talk with the 46:14 conference leaders about the program 46:16 they just really had a heart for us to do 46:21 something in Frankfort. Now Frankfort is the 46:23 capital of Kentucky and they did not have 46:26 a Kentucky-Tennessee Conference Church there 46:28 and you know which is just, 46:31 it's a capital of a state and so we wanted 46:34 to do something there too but it was just too far 46:37 away for us to be directly involved 46:39 and so we asked Ouachita Hills College 46:41 to come and coordinate and provide Bible 46:44 workers and speakers to work there as a 46:46 satellite site. And Dan why don't you give us 46:49 a report of that effort? Well I wasn't at the 46:53 Frankfort site but some good friends of mine 46:56 and also my sister worked there as Bible workers 46:58 and speakers. And I just got off the phone 47:00 with my sister a few minutes ago and some 47:02 amazing things were happening over Frankfort. 47:04 Before we got there as Leasa said 47:06 there was no English speaking church. 47:08 There was a Hispanic church they were working 47:09 hard and the conference hired Pastor James 47:12 to go in and to work as a part-time Pastor, 47:16 part-time Literature Evangelist. 47:18 By the time he had finished one year 47:20 he had 20 peoples with a Branch Sabbath school. 47:23 He was a hard working man and that's about 47:24 the time that ASI and the Ouachita Hills College 47:28 evangelism team got there. And they only, 47:30 because the school got out one month before 47:33 the program started, they only had a one month 47:36 to do all of their pre-work. 47:38 So they go in there, they started 47:39 knocking on doors. They started going 47:41 and giving Bible studies to people and the 47:43 opening night of their meetings they had 70 47:45 visitors come not counting church members, okay. 47:54 I had the privilege of going over there one time 47:56 with Leasa and Verrell and I noticed 47:59 a man walking in. He had a Michigan jacket; 48:01 I go to school in Michigan so I thought 48:02 oh I can talk to him. And I went over there 48:05 and he came up to me and said how are you, 48:08 I am Chris Glover and his ascent, given his 48:10 ascent, I said no way you are from Maine 48:12 I am from Maine too. And he was telling me 48:16 how he met my sister. My sister had made 48:19 a wrong turn into the hotel and she was turning 48:23 around and he saw her license plate from Maine 48:26 and he flagged her down and stopped her car 48:30 and asking her what you doing all the way down 48:33 here in Frankfort. And so she told him what 48:36 we are doing, you know we are doing the series 48:37 in Bible studies and she asked him 48:40 do you study the Bible. And he said you know 48:43 I haven't in the past but I've been thinking 48:46 that something I really need to do. 48:48 I really want to study the Bible and so she asked 48:50 him do you want to study and he said yes. 48:53 He has been coming into the meetings every night 48:55 and tomorrow I believe he is going to be baptized. 49:04 One more thing I want to say is that 49:06 they couldn't be here tonight because 49:07 their meetings. Tonight is their last night, 49:10 but last night they had 12 decisions for people 49:15 to join God's true church to come out of that one. 49:18 They are having five people getting ready 49:20 for baptism right now plus 12 more 49:23 and God has been doing some 49:24 amazing things over Frankfort. 49:27 That's close to doubling their membership. 49:32 You know there are several objectives that 49:35 we have for this Youth for Jesus Program. 49:37 And it's not just for the youth; it's not just 49:40 to mentor them, to teach them how to 49:42 do evangelism, to teach them how to live 49:46 Christian lives. We also want to impact 49:49 the churches that we go into. 49:52 We also want to impact the community. 49:54 We want to share the love of Jesus. 49:56 The soon coming of Jesus and the salvation 49:58 that Jesus provides with the community 50:01 and invite them to come and join His church. 50:04 We also want to make this program so that 50:07 he can be duplicated anywhere and anybody 50:10 can do it. And so we are going to give, 50:14 we are going to talk to some people in these 50:17 different areas who have been impacted 50:20 by our Youth for Jesus program. 50:23 And Kevin is bringing out Pastor Rich Teller, 50:27 and we love this man. If we could take him 50:32 home to Minnesota we would. 50:35 Here we have as Leasa told you Richard Teller. 50:39 He is the Pastor Shelbyville as well as 50:41 the Pewee Valley church and when we came out 50:44 here last year to try and figure out what 50:47 churches we are going to go with, 50:49 some interesting things happened. 50:51 We want to originally going to go with 50:54 Pewee Valley as the main site and Shelbyville 50:56 wasn't even one of our churches we were 50:59 considering, and the Lord just worked things 51:02 out amazingly. And the Lord knew 51:04 where we needed to be and who needed 51:06 to be touched and so we ended up having 51:08 our main site at Richard's church a Pastor, 51:12 Richard's church at Pewee Valley 51:14 and then his second church we were able 51:16 to incorporate as one of the churches as well. 51:19 And I wanted to just ask you Rich what kind 51:23 of an impact would you say it had on let say 51:26 Shelbyville church first. 51:27 Tell us little bit about Shelbyville church? 51:29 Well Shelbyville is not a large church. 51:32 It averages may be about 35 people 51:34 a Sabbath. And the meeting started 51:38 the first night and I think we must had 85 people. 51:41 There was about 42 visitors. Amen! 51:44 We average between 70 and 85 people every night 51:47 with about 30 to 45 visitors every night. 51:51 So we are actually having more visitors 51:52 in our total Sabbath attendance. 51:56 Which just excited the church, 51:58 the young people and the church members 52:02 just bonded, and they just fell in love 52:05 with each other, and it's excited the church. 52:07 The church over the last few years may be 52:09 done 6 or 7 evangelistic efforts may be one or two 52:13 people and to have the amount of people 52:16 coming out that came to this meeting just 52:19 inspired them, just fired them up. 52:23 We baptized 8, the other night we have 52:27 at least 5 to 6 that are very serious that 52:30 we are working with, that are working on smoking 52:32 and we have other interest that will 52:34 continue to follow up. The Lord put us in contact 52:37 with some very interesting people. 52:40 Everyone is an experience, 52:41 but I want to share one experience from 52:43 Shelbyville. Alaina one of the Bible workers came, 52:46 the first week she was there, 52:48 she knocked on Elizabeth's door. 52:51 Now Elizabeth is in her 80's and as they started 52:55 talking Elizabeth brought up to Sabbath. 52:59 Elizabeth had been keeping the Sabbath 53:01 by herself for several years trying to convict 53:04 people of the Sabbath and nobody would 53:06 listen to her and she had not idea there was 53:09 anybody out there that understood 53:10 and kept the Sabbath. So, the very next Sabbath 53:15 she was in church and almost immediately 53:19 became part of our church family, amen. 53:21 Now Elizabeth when she was 17 years old 53:25 her family was starving. They didn't have enough 53:26 food and somebody told her if she would smoke 53:30 cigarettes it will help deal that hunger. 53:32 And she started smoking when she was 17 years old. 53:37 Just before the meeting started we had a 53:39 "Stop Smoking" seminar and the very first day 53:44 Elizabeth quit smoking. It's been well over 53:46 a month now and she not had another 53:48 cigarette since. Amen! And she was baptized, 53:52 last Tuesday night. How long she smoking for? 53:54 Oh my, 82 or 83 and started when she was 17. 53:59 Sixty five years in that area. 54:01 And she lights the cigarettes down 54:03 and never looked back again, amen, amen. 54:05 Just a sweet heart, and that's just one 54:08 of the many, many stories. Any other story 54:11 come to mine. Well we go to Pewee Valley. 54:15 Pewee Valley is little bigger church. 54:18 The beauty that ASI brought is the Lord for 54:22 the past three years has had Pewee Valley 54:23 on a journey. Last summer we had the 54:26 Messiah's Mansion there and it really 54:28 rallied our church members and excited some. 54:32 Then this year, I go back a couple of years ago. 54:36 My son used to be the ASI Representative 54:39 liaison for Mid-American Union. 54:41 When he was in Cincinnati I went up to see him 54:43 and he said, got good news for you dad. 54:45 We are going to be able to visit you in two years 54:47 because that's going to be in Louisville. 54:49 And we went great and I knew a bit about 54:52 the Youth for Jesus. So I start getting 54:55 a little bit excited that it would come 54:57 and we could possibly be part of it. 55:00 And we started building that excitement 55:03 this year and then when we met and they visited 55:07 our church, I think Kevin you came to visit 55:10 Pewee Valley with couple of others. 55:13 And the people just loved them. 55:16 They loved them so much that I think they said 55:18 two of them saying that's where when we got 55:19 to have to meet the coordinating site. 55:23 Yes! The church worked together to prepare 55:27 for the youth. We had the 43 youth staying 55:29 in our school and just our church had 55:35 40 to 50 people out every Sabbath for the 55:37 training that entire eight week training, 55:41 went out door to door. Every single story 55:49 is an exciting story. When we did the baptism 55:53 on Tuesday night it was just electric. 55:55 We had around 500 people in the church. 55:58 You could just feel the electricity in the air. 56:01 And as we were doing the baptism I looked out 56:03 to everybody and I said you know you aren't 56:06 getting the few of the faces that I am getting 56:08 as they come up out of the water. 56:11 Brenda who is going to come out in a little bit, 56:12 when she came up all the worry on her face 56:15 and her eyes were just absolutely if they could 56:17 have been spot lights they had been that bright. 56:20 She was so excited. But I want to share 56:23 one special one. And I debated on whether 56:28 embarrassing them or not, but they are sitting 56:31 here tonight. And the first person I got to 56:34 baptized and may be the one that was the biggest 56:38 thrill for me was George. Now George had been 56:41 Jehovah's Witness for 20 years, 56:43 and his wife was our church treasurer 56:46 and he had been coming to church for a lot of 56:48 years and the church was praying, and praying. 56:51 I don't know, I think the prayer has finally 56:55 stormed heaven and God had to do something 56:57 because when this young people came they touch 57:00 George's heart and Tuesday he was baptized. 57:03 Amen! Amen. 57:13 Tremendous people are baptized. 57:15 We are looking forward to see what the Lord does. 57:17 We also have several people in Pewee Valley 57:20 that we are working with, yeah, 57:22 that smoking and few other problems 57:25 but several of them committed to that 57:30 they want to be baptized as soon as we can work 57:32 through their issues with them, amen. 57:35 Thank you Rich very much. |
