03:39 Good evening, happy Sabbath,
03:41 we just want to tell you we've really enjoyed 03:43 your children down in the youth departments, 03:46 and I've been very thankful for all of the 03:48 youth leaders who have put hours of work in this 03:50 since the beginning of the year to prepare 03:52 for this program, and I've been so blessed 03:55 to see the programs that they have done, 03:57 and just been touched and also seen the 03:59 answers to prayer, just in the little things as 04:01 we've carried out this program. 04:03 And this evening, our leaders are gonna share 04:05 with you what your children have been learning. 05:01 Good evening, my name is Heather, 05:03 and we're the kindergarten class, 05:05 and we are kingdom kids, and we've a little song 05:12 we wanna share with you. Are you guys ready? 05:14 You ready? Alright! 05:21 We're kingdom kids, 05:23 We know we need God in our hearts, 05:28 To live for him each day 05:32 We're kingdom kids, 05:35 We know we need God in our hearts, 05:39 To live for him each day 05:44 We're kingdom kids, 05:46 We share God's love with everyone, 05:51 We stand up for the rights, 05:55 We're kingdom kids, 05:57 We share God's love with everyone 06:02 We stand up for the rights. 06:06 This week we've been setting about the 06:09 Beatitudes, and we just picked one because 06:11 there's a lot of memory verses, 06:13 and a favorite poster that we colored 06:15 for you guys. Alright, are you guys ready? 06:17 We're gonna sing, ready. 06:21 Blessed are the meek, 06:27 for they will inherit the earth. 06:32 Alright, so we've all learned that God 06:36 is our strength, that God is our joy and 06:39 we've a little song about that as well. 06:42 The joy of the Lord is my strength, my strength 06:47 The joy of the Lord is my strength, my strength 06:52 The joy of the Lord is my strength, my strength 06:57 The joy of the Lord is my strength. 07:01 Thank you, thank you. 07:36 This year our ASI primary class has been 07:39 studying God's messengers. 07:42 We have studied from Samuel to John the 07:46 Revelator, to Ellen White and we've had 07:49 quite a team, the youth coordinators have 07:51 helped us, and we have Charles White, 07:54 Ellen White's great grandson, 07:57 and we're learning the eight tests of the 07:59 Prophets, so we can test peoples messages, 08:03 and know whether they're true or not. 08:05 So, tonight the primary class would like to sing 08:09 the Three Angels Message that John 08:12 gave us by memory, and they've worked 08:15 hard on it. And so I hope that each of us 08:18 will think of how God can use each one of us 08:22 as a messenger for him this year. 08:35 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, 08:41 having the everlasting gospel to preach unto 08:46 them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, 08:53 and kindred, and tongue, and people, saying with 08:59 a loud voice, "Fear God, and give glory to him; 09:07 for the hour of his judgment is come: 09:12 and worship him that made the heaven, 09:17 the earth, and the sea, and 09:19 the fountains of waters." 09:25 And there followed another angel, saying, 09:31 "Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, 09:36 because she made all nations drink of the 09:39 wine of the wrath of her fornication." 09:46 And the third angel followed them, 09:50 saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the 09:57 beast and his image, and receive his mark in 10:04 his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall 10:10 drink of the wine of the wrath of God, 10:15 which is poured out without mixture into 10:19 the cup of his indignation; and he shall be 10:24 shall be tormented with fire and brimstone 10:28 in the presence of the holy angels, 10:31 and in the presence of the Lamb: 10:36 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up 10:42 forever and ever: and they have no rest day 10:48 nor night, who worship the beast and his image, 10:58 and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. 11:05 Here is the patience of the saints: 11:11 here are they that keep the commandments of God, 11:19 and the faith of Jesus." Revelation 14:6 to 12. 13:06 This week in the junior department we've been 13:09 learning of how the sanctuary was a visual 13:14 illustration of God's plan of salvation. 13:17 Sharon Gladden was willing to comedown from Oregon 13:20 and share with us, and she has a ministry setup, 13:23 we'd love to have you comedown and 13:25 see of the sanctuary. And we had a number of other 13:29 speakers come, and share some very 13:32 special messages. I'd like to have Taylor Bond 13:36 come up and share what he has learned. 13:39 Taylor, what have you had that's been special 13:42 to you this week in this program? 13:45 I think the sermon on prayer impacted me 13:48 the most, I mean you have no idea it changed 13:50 my life through and through, and that's what 13:53 I learned this week. Amen. Thank you Taylor. 13:58 We're gonna sing a song that we've have been 14:01 learning there this week it said, it's called 14:03 Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary, 14:06 which is what we want God to do 14:08 in each one of our lives isn't it. 14:25 Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary 14:34 Pure and holy, tried and true 14:43 With thanksgiving, 14:46 I'll be a living sanctuary for You 14:59 Lord God Almighty, is the sanctuary. 15:07 Pure and holy, to seek His face, 15:15 Accept His guiding. 15:19 In Him abiding, Sanctuary for Lord you. 15:31 Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary 15:39 Pure and holy, tried and true 15:47 With thanksgiving, 15:51 I'll be a living sanctuary for You. Amen. 16:30 Well happy Sabbath, my name is Maria 16:34 Lodenkamp, and I'm one of the ASI early 16:38 team leaders, and it has been a privilege 16:41 to work with the Earliteens this week. 16:43 I'm also working with Joshua Fyne 16:46 and we've brought up four representatives 16:49 from our class that are just gonna share a 16:51 little bit about what they've been learning, 16:53 and a little bit about their experiences, 16:55 and what they're taking home with them, 16:58 that God has touched their hearts with. 17:00 Madison, can you share a little bit about 17:03 what you been learning this week? 17:05 Our theme this week in Earliteen was knowing 17:08 Him and knowing why, and last night when 17:12 Pastor Asscherick spoke, he spoke on 17:15 how we have to know God personally, 17:16 and we can't count on what other people 17:18 say about, and we've to have a personal 17:20 experience with him. And it really, 17:23 God really impressed upon me through 17:24 his words that I need to get a closer, 17:27 have a closer relationship with God. 17:29 It's beautiful. Alright April, I understand 17:35 that you and the Earliteens went out yesterday, 17:38 and had the opportunity to do something, 17:40 would you like to tell us about that? 17:42 Well yesterday, we had an awesome time going 17:45 to being down the Salt River, 17:47 and I really enjoyed it. I got to see all the 17:50 rock formations which was really beautiful, 17:52 and the Lord just blessed I got to see 17:54 wild horses which was really nice, 17:56 I love horses and it was just really a big 17:59 blessing to just go down and have fun 18:00 with my friends, and I just feel 18:03 closer to God out in nature. 18:09 We had a little miracle happen as well, 18:11 we got delayed about 45 minutes and when 18:14 we went back the bus driver told us 18:16 we could not get the food for our youth, 18:18 and so we quickly had prayer as staff, 18:21 and God helped us all through that, 18:24 the subway manager brought the food to 18:27 the bus just off the highway and we got 18:31 our youth fed. They were pretty low after 18:33 tubing for about four hours, so we were very 18:35 grateful for that. Angela we went on an 18:39 outreach today that was very, very exciting, 18:41 would you share a little bit about that with ASI? 18:44 Yes our Earliteen group went to the 18:47 Native American reservation and 18:50 it was just a wonderful experience 18:51 to go help this teacher there, she is only 18:53 one teacher for the whole school. 18:55 And our group went there and there was, 18:58 we all went out there and had a wonderful 19:01 time working together. I was with a group that 19:04 was working with art supplies, 19:06 we're organizing it, cleaning the closets out. 19:08 Where other groups are working on construction, 19:11 we had people that were helping in the kitchen. 19:13 We had a lot of things that were going on there, 19:14 and it was just really a blessing to be there, 19:16 and also to realize how blessed we are, 19:19 because the children that go the school 19:20 they don't have functional families like we do. 19:23 Their parents are using drugs and alcohol, 19:25 and the school is a place where they can go 19:27 and get a blessing, and to be in a safe 19:29 environment, so it's really a blessing and 19:31 blessing to realize how blessed we are. 19:37 Now Sarah, you've been to the meetings, 19:39 you participated in the outreach today, 19:42 is there something that you've learned 19:44 or something that you heard that you wanna 19:45 take back home and put into practice? 19:47 When Pastor Asscherick spoke in our class 19:52 and how he said you need to search the 19:54 scriptures for yourself and not always depend 19:56 on what other people are saying to you, 19:59 you need to go and look for yourselves, 20:02 not listen to what other people are saying 20:04 to make sure they're right, amen. 20:07 Amen, I want to say its been a privilege 20:09 working with these young people seeing 20:11 their hard work today at the outreach 20:13 and seeing their team work, and their 20:15 participation has been wonderful. 20:17 And I want to say to the parents that this 20:19 would not have been possible if you had not 20:21 entrusted your kids to us and so we want 20:23 to personally thank you and we want 20:26 to thank the young people as well. 20:39 Well good evening everyone. 20:41 My name is Immian, and I'm with the 20:45 ASI Youth Department, and this year our theme 20:49 is you might be able to tell by our shirts 20:50 if its close enough was "Do Good" and 20:54 this year we wanted to focus on doing good 20:56 because, actually it was because I had 20:58 read in Christ's Object Lessons, 21:00 a book you all might be familiar with that 21:03 it is through service that we come into 21:07 contact with Christ, and actually she says, 21:10 becomes the connecting link between us and Him. 21:15 And so we wanted our kids to have, 21:18 our youth, our young men and women to 21:21 have some exposure to the thoughts behind 21:24 doing good. So, we've had some excellent 21:26 seminars, we've had some excellent preaching, 21:29 we're going to continue having some 21:31 excellent presentations, and some profound 21:36 thoughts being presented to us both tonight 21:38 and tomorrow, we're really looking forward 21:39 to those presentations. But I would have to say 21:42 and I think the young people would agree 21:44 with me that the most memorable part 21:46 about this year at ASI has been our time 21:50 at the Maricopa Village Christian School. 21:52 You're looking at pictures right there, 21:54 and I'm just gonna let Jessica who is the 21:57 teacher at the school tell you a little bit 21:59 about the school, and then we'll get into 22:02 the pictures. Good evening everyone, 22:06 as Immian was saying they came out to 22:09 work at our school, our school is a little 22:11 Adventist school on the reservation and 22:13 its been there for, this is gonna come upon 22:16 the eight year and I've been there for seven 22:18 of those years, and its been a real blessing 22:19 to see God work in the school. 22:21 It started out in the front room of a trailer, 22:23 and over the years we moved into a little 22:27 house which later became a condemned 22:29 building, and we were wondering 22:30 oh no is that gonna close, what we gonna 22:32 do there is no money, this building is falling 22:34 apart which is a house that the white house 22:36 in some of the pictures, and we started praying 22:38 about it, and God blessed us with that building 22:41 you're seeing right now. It only took 57 days 22:43 from the time we started looking for 22:44 a new building to get that one delivered. 22:46 And so our school is meeting a need 22:49 in the community that would not be met 22:51 if there wasn't for our little Adventist school. 22:53 Its kind of secluded, lot of people don't have 22:55 cars in that area, a lot of people, 22:57 most of the homes have drugs and alcohol, 23:00 and so the kids you know if it wasn't for this, 23:03 they probably wouldn't have a spiritual 23:04 connection, so it's a real blessing 23:07 a lot of kids that had all the way through, 23:08 they have just stayed with the school. 23:10 And so I really feel after being all these years 23:12 I can tell that if it wasn't for our little 23:15 Adventist school which is a mission school, 23:17 it's supported by donations, if it wasn't 23:19 for that they would probably not have any 23:21 connection to God. And its a real blessing 23:23 for me to see them change because when 23:24 they came, and when I get new students 23:26 they are really hard, and you know they're just, 23:28 it's a hard life for them to grow up, 23:31 and it's nice to see a transformation, 23:34 and I was telling some people yesterday 23:37 Bible class first thing in the morning 9 am, 23:39 they are listening to every single word 23:41 and it's a real blessing. They love learning about 23:44 God and getting to see them change 23:47 and their hearts soften, and so I'm so 23:50 grateful for these guys coming out here 23:51 and helping. I mean they've done 23:53 so much work that I could have never done, 23:56 I mean it's amazing, they helped me clean 23:58 and organize and get things together 24:00 and it's just been a real, real blessing. 24:03 They work so hard in that hot sun, 24:04 and now we're miles ahead of where 24:07 we've been because its, you know money 24:09 is tight, and there is not a lot of workers 24:11 out there, and its tough and its tough 24:14 for me being there all these years, 24:16 its hard to be out there in the mission field, 24:18 and you don't always know if things 24:20 are you know you're expecting to see these 24:22 big great things happen so fast, and then 24:24 you know you're there and you see that 24:26 it's a slow process, and sometimes 24:27 you can get discouraged. 24:28 And all of these youth that have been there 24:30 have like lifted me up big time. 24:32 I'm so ready to start year number eight 24:34 out there, wasn't sure if I was gonna be 24:36 able to do it again this year, and I was 24:37 praying all summer God fill me up. 24:39 I need to have you in me to work through me 24:41 so I can do this again because it's so hard. 24:43 I pick them up first thing in the morning, 24:45 feed them breakfast, teach them, cook them 24:47 lunch, clean it up, teach them the rest of the day, 24:50 take them home at the end of the day, 24:51 and then I got to clean up and its like, 24:52 I don't know if could do it again, 24:53 but just it's been such a blessing working 24:56 with all these guys, and they have filled 24:57 me up, and I'm ready to do it again, 24:59 and praise God for Him working there 25:02 because if it wasn't for him nothing would 25:04 have happen, and I've seen him take it 25:05 from the trailer, to the little house that 25:07 was our school for four years, and now 25:08 we're in this what I feel like is like a Hilton, 25:11 it's gorgeous, you know other people 25:13 are like it's just a trailer, and I make them 25:15 know that is the coolest school ever. 25:17 So, praise God for working and for enabling 25:20 all of us as servants for him and helping us 25:23 to have what we need to accomplish, 25:24 what we need to accomplish, so, amen. 25:32 Now these kids, these young people, 25:34 they worked hard, and we actually didn't 25:38 finish everything, but there was a couple 25:40 of kids who went back and here I'm with the 25:42 word kids again, went back today and 25:45 Joseph was one of them, Joseph, what happened? 25:48 Yesterday we finished some stuff like may one 25:53 or two projects but we didn't finish some 25:55 of the major things, and we need to finish 25:56 like the ramp that you see there didn't 25:58 get finished, and there was a porch in back 25:59 that we really wanted to get finished that 26:01 didn't get finished, so we went back today 26:03 and got the ramp finished, and the back 26:05 porch finished, and there are some three 26:08 more things that we would like to have gotten 26:10 done but we were unable to get done, 26:11 but the Lord will provide in those areas. 26:13 Amen. And Janay, what were your thoughts 26:16 at the end of the day yesterday as we 26:19 were leaving the school? Well, all I could think 26:23 about all day was this is the day to make me 26:25 thankful for what I've in my home. 26:29 I live in America but these kids live in 26:32 America as well, and I've never seen what 26:36 I saw before. I didn't get to meet the kids 26:38 I so wish I could have met the kids, 26:40 but what Jessica is doing is awesome, 26:43 and it is my blessed to give and to receive 26:46 and I'm just so glad that I had the experience. 26:49 Amen, we want our young people to be 26:53 doing good in their communities where ever 26:55 they go. I just want to tell you those of you 26:57 who are parents and have kids here, 26:58 they, especially those that were, we've 27:01 got to work with, boy they're good workers. 27:04 These guys out in the hot sun really, really 27:08 moved, they were amazing, and we hope that they 27:10 continue to go on, and to dedicate the 27:13 rest of their lives in service for the Master, 27:15 getting that connection with Him and working. 27:18 By the way the Maricopa Village Christian 27:20 School does need further support, 27:22 so if you're looking for 27:23 opportunities come and find Jessica. 27:34 Good evening everyone, 27:37 are you excited to be here tonight? 27:39 Yes, we are very, very excited to be here tonight. 27:43 My name is Kevin Sears; I'm the coordinator 27:46 here for the ASI Youth for Jesus, 27:49 the youth for Jesus portion of the program. 27:51 And I'd like to tell you a little bit about 27:53 how the program went this year in Phoenix. 27:56 First I'll start out by saying it was warm, 27:59 I think the average temperature during 28:03 the month of July was a 109, that's average, 28:07 which means it was above that in order 28:09 to average it out. And so it was warm, 28:11 we had a great group, nobody complained 28:14 and incredible things happened in this program 28:17 this year as you're about to hear about 28:19 in a few minutes. We worked with I guess 28:23 five sites, we had the Tempe Church, 28:28 we had the Camelback Church, 28:30 we had the Thunderbird Academy Church 28:32 which were basically the main churches, 28:34 then we had a Spanish Church and we had a 28:36 Community Service Church that we worked 28:40 with as well. And it's not actually a church 28:43 but some people were holding meetings, 28:46 the NAPS group were holding meetings 28:47 over at the Community Service, 28:49 and that was very exciting. 28:51 We had a lot of people give their lives to Christ, 28:53 and a lot of incredible things happened 28:56 in this program this year. 28:58 Now we're gonna start out by interviewing, 29:03 I'll be interviewing a few people tonight, 29:05 and our first person is going to be Samiu. 29:09 Samiu come on up here, this is Samiu Moala 29:12 and Samiu is from, where are you from Samiu? 29:15 Salt Lake City, Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah. 29:18 Samiu, how did you find out about the Youth 29:21 for Jesus program? ASI actually sent a couple, 29:27 a team of Bible workers to our school Gem 29:29 State Adventist Academy, and they lived in the 29:31 dormitories with us, and they actually taught us 29:34 how to do evangelism. And I was a part of that 29:36 program and it was incredible, and Samiu, 29:40 there was something significant that happened 29:42 in your life during that program. 29:45 You made a decision, a huge life decision, 29:48 why don't you tell us a little bit about that? 29:50 I was actually deciding to fully commit 29:52 my life to Christ for the first time, 29:54 and as I was taking this action the devil 29:56 immediately started trying to tear my faith 29:59 apart and discourage me. And so how did he do 30:03 that? I got a lot of offers, not a lot of 30:09 offers I guess, I don't know how to say this. 30:13 Well you are, he was a rugby player, 30:17 and so what was your dream growing up 30:20 as a young man? To be a professional 30:23 rugby player that was my dream, 30:25 and as I was deciding to give my life to Christ, 30:29 then the devil threw some incredible offers 30:32 at me that I could have taken to just be 30:34 involved with the activities of the world, 30:37 and obviously I declined those offers 30:40 because I'm standing before 30:41 you this evening to testify that God is good, 30:44 amen. So, Samiu actually received the 30:48 phone call for a full scholarship at a college 30:52 in New Zealand I think, yeah wasn't, 30:55 it's a rugby club. Yeah it's a rugby club 30:58 they actually played against them in the 31:00 summer time, and then they actually 31:02 offered me to go and play with them this year. 31:06 And so this was not just an average phone 31:09 call from an average person, this was the 31:12 Michael Jordan if you will of rugby that 31:15 wanted Samiu to be trained under him on 31:18 how to play, and so how in the world did 31:20 you make a decision to turn that down 31:23 as a young man and follow Christ all the way 31:26 here to Phoenix in July? Lots and lots, 31:31 and lots of prayer, amen, lots of prayer. 31:35 Yes I just prayed, ask God to guide me 31:39 and lead me and just tell me what he wanted me 31:43 to do with my life so. Amen. And so Samiu 31:46 actually made a decision to be one 31:48 of our speakers at the Gem State 31:50 Academy program, one of 13 speakers 31:54 and then we saw that he would be the right 31:58 person to come here, and be one of our 32:00 speakers at one of the sites for the 32:02 Youth for Jesus program. He was a speaker 32:05 along with Andrew Yeager over at the 32:07 Thunderbird Academy Church and it was an 32:10 incredible blessing for them and for those 32:12 that came. And so Samiu, real quick, what are your 32:15 future plans from here? Actually next week 32:18 I'll be going to AFCO to further my education 32:21 and just try to do what's God calling me 32:24 to do for evangelism. Amen, thank you 32:27 very much Samiu, thank you go back. 32:30 And now next is, this is Dick Knipple, 32:33 he is the Vice President of Membership 32:36 and Recruiting for the Pacific Union ASI Chapter. 32:42 And Dick has been a member of ASI for 32:45 a long time I believe, and he was an ardent 32:49 supporter here, and he came to a lot of 32:51 training classes, he came out almost every night 32:54 if not every night to the meetings, 32:57 and he put a lot of time into this, 32:58 and he was a great blessing for us. 33:00 And so Dick, why don't you tell us a little bit 33:03 from your perspective about the program. 33:05 Sure I'll be happy to Kevin, thank you. 33:08 You know every time ASI comes around about 33:13 July we got started here July 10 it ended 33:16 August 1. But about a month or so before 33:19 the meetings kick off I started thinking 33:22 about a statistic that was generated 33:24 back in 2002 coming out of a study done 33:28 by the Southern Baptist Convention. 33:30 It's a horrific statistic, they said that 88 33:35 percent of teenagers after they graduate 33:39 from high school quit attending church. 33:42 The statistic that comes out of 33:45 Andrews University just last year said that 33:49 40 to 50 percent and even more of 33:53 Seventh-day Adventist students quit attending 33:55 church after graduation from high school. 33:58 Are those horrible statistics or what, 34:03 so here we got the Youth for Jesus program? 34:06 What better way to solidify the young 34:10 people into the church then have them 34:13 out their winning souls, amen, 34:15 because how can you go through a program 34:17 like this, ultimately seen baptisms and then 34:23 just brush the Holy Spirit aside, and say 34:27 you know ASH, thanks for the memories 34:30 I'm gonna my own way, but are the young 34:33 people that were involved in this program 34:35 gonna do that? I don't believe so. 34:37 I was trying to think about some kind 34:40 of a remark to make, you know always 34:43 ASI Youth for Jesus is a greatest thing 34:45 since sliced bread, well sliced bread dates 34:47 back to 1928. So maybe we should say the 34:51 greatest thing since the Internet, 34:54 may be since the iPhone but I just can't 35:01 say enough, and I had been so pleased 35:04 and so impressed with the work done 35:07 by the team, done by the individual members, 35:11 done by the speakers, it takes a tremendous 35:14 amount of effort, but the Holy Spirit was at work, 35:18 and after all what's its all about, work to serve 35:23 God and work to win souls. 35:26 These young people have had a fantastic 35:28 experience, haven't you, amen. 35:32 Raise your hands if you would like to do this 35:33 again, amen, amen, thank you all. 35:39 Amen, thank you Dick. Alright, next on our 35:43 list here is this is Pastor Ray Navarro, 35:45 he was the pastor of the Tempe Church 35:48 which is directly across the street from 35:50 Arizona State University, and Pastor Ray was one 35:55 of the first pastors that I had spoken with 35:58 when I first came here in February, 36:00 and when I came out of that meeting 36:02 I knew that this was going to be a good program 36:05 here in Arizona. And so pastor, why don't you 36:09 tell us from your perspective what this 36:10 program has done maybe for your church. 36:13 I think of what Jesus said to spread the gospel, 36:17 to spread the gospel to all the world, 36:20 and I think of the book of Acts chapter 1 36:22 where he says start in Jerusalem and then 36:24 in Samaria, etc, and we wanted to start 36:29 obviously in Tempe in our local church, 36:31 but there is nothing that revitalizes an 36:35 individual and a church, a group of people 36:37 more than when they mobilize and work 36:39 together as a team, and work to spread the 36:42 gospel of Jesus Christ, it just does something 36:45 to you, it does something to you not only as 36:47 an individual, but as a whole group as a church, 36:50 and there was in fact I believe was in January 36:53 that we had a meeting at the conference office, 36:56 and I raised my hand and yeah we wanna 36:58 be part of this as the Tempe Church, and so 37:00 we signed up, we received some Bible 37:03 workers Lee Roy was, was around here some place 37:06 and we got some, there he is right over there, 37:08 there is Lee Roy over there, he was the first 37:11 to arrive and then we got I actually wanna 37:13 recognize them, Rachel, where is Rachel? 37:15 Here's Rachel over here and Carla, 37:18 where is Carla another Bible worker over there 37:20 and Dustin, where is Dustin? Right over here, 37:22 and we got some two great preachers 37:25 Raymond Torres is right over here I just saw him 37:28 and David Webber right here. 37:29 I think they deserve an applause or an amen 37:33 because they did a wonderful job. 37:35 Our Tempe members I need to say this, 37:38 our Tempe members we had a training sessions 37:42 at the Camelback Seventh-day Adventist 37:44 Church and our members they were on board, 37:47 we had 40 members week after week going 37:51 through the training learning how to knock 37:52 on doors and give Bible studies, and we have 37:54 four baptisms just a couple of days ago, 37:58 and it just revitalizes our church. 38:00 There is nothing more that just really wakes 38:03 us up and shakes us when we get together 38:05 and move to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ 38:08 in our community. Amen, thank you pastor. 38:10 Before we get to our next we wanna break this up, 38:13 before we get to our next testimonies 38:16 we would like to have a song, 38:17 and I would like to introduce to you our 38:20 Youth for Jesus choir and we're gonna have a 38:23 beautiful song that will really set the 38:26 tempo for the next few testimonies. 38:59 I, the Lord of sea and sky 39:04 I have heard my people cry 39:09 All who dwell in dark and sin 39:14 My hand will save: 39:22 I who made the stars of night 39:27 I will make the darkness bright 39:32 Who will bear my light to them? 39:37 Whom shall I send? 39:43 Here I am Lord Is it I Lord? 39:53 I have heard you calling in the night 40:03 I will go Lord Where you lead me 40:14 I will hold your people in my heart 40:31 For the Lord of snow and rain, 40:36 I have borne my people's pain, 40:41 I have wept for love of them, 40:47 They turn away. 40:54 I will break their hearts of stone 40:59 Fill their hearts with love alone 41:04 I will speak my word to them 41:09 Whom shall I send? 41:15 Here I am Lord, Is it I Lord? 41:26 I have heard you calling in the night 41:35 I will go Lord, Where you lead me 41:45 I will hold your people in my heart 41:56 For the Lord of wind and flame 42:01 I will tend the poor and lame 42:06 I will set a feast for them 42:11 My hand will save: 42:18 Finest bread I will provide 42:23 Till their hearts be satisfied 42:28 I will give my life to them 42:33 Whom shall I send? 42:38 Here I am Lord Is it I Lord? 42:48 I have heard you calling in the night 42:58 I will go Lord Where you lead me 43:08 I will hold your people in my heart 43:19 I will hold your people in my heart, in my heart. 43:41 Isn't it beautiful? We knew you would 43:45 enjoy that, am I on, we knew you would hello. 43:48 Alright, there we go, we knew you would 43:51 enjoy that. Here I have a couple of friends 43:53 of mine, there are from the NAPS Organization. 43:56 Now NAPS is the National Association for the 43:59 Prevention of Starvation which is run out of 44:02 Oakwood College and last few years they have 44:05 come on board with us in the summer time to, 44:08 to do their program in a couple of churches 44:11 and so here we've Chance, we have Randrick Chance 44:14 and we have Trokon Dalmeida and I will tell 44:18 you I've been so privileged and blessed 44:21 as the NAPS has been a part of our program. 44:24 You'll not find just more respectable, 44:27 dedicated young people, and so we're gonna 44:30 talk to them a little bit they wanna share a 44:32 little bit about the program that they 44:33 had here. Yes, thank you Kevin, and so 44:36 Trokon is my friend, he is Trokon, 44:39 how many churches or how many sites did 44:42 NAPS actually work this year. 44:44 Well we had the opportunity to work on 44:47 two different sites this summer here in Phoenix. 44:50 And what were those two sites. 44:51 We work at the Adventist Community Center 44:54 as well as the Monte Vista Spanish Church. 44:56 Now what kind of people do you actually serve 44:59 there at the Community Center, what kind 45:01 of people come there for service? Well on Monday, 45:04 Tuesday and Wednesday are the homeless 45:06 people about 150 homeless people come 45:09 to the Community Center; they receive food, 45:11 clothing as well as food for them for the 45:14 course of the week. Now what about the 45:15 staff that actually work at the Community Center, 45:18 are they all Adventist. Well there were four 45:20 of the staff member that were non-Adventists 45:23 at the Community Center. But after your programs 45:25 what happened? Well we did a evangelistic 45:28 meeting at the Adventist Community Center 45:30 and on a given night we had 18 visitors on a 45:34 given night, and out of those 18, 7 of them 45:37 decided to give their life to the Lord including 45:39 four of the staff members. Amen, amen, 45:43 so what you're saying now, so now most of the 45:46 staff people there now are actually Adventists? 45:50 Yes and as a result there is a church now 45:52 being planted at the Adventist Community Center. 45:54 Amen, now I'm very interested in this second 45:58 site that we worked which is the Monte Vista 46:00 Spanish Church, tell us a little bit about the 46:02 Bible studies that you had there? 46:04 It was a blessing and the privilege to work 46:06 at the Monte Vista Spanish Church. 46:08 The church member was on fire, the pastor was 46:11 on board we conducted some Bible study training, 46:14 and we took about a 150 church member out 46:17 in a community and we survey about a 150 46:20 of people that were interested in doing Bible 46:22 studies and out of those 150 we had a 46:24 112 Bible study schedule while 46:26 we were in Phoenix. A 112 Bible studies, 46:29 praise the Lord. Now for the meetings, 46:32 for the meetings what was the end result? 46:35 What were the end results there? 46:36 We had about 25 people come out each 46:38 and every night and out of those 25 46:40 we had 18 people give their life to the Lord. 46:43 18 people baptized, praise God for that. 46:46 Now are you a Spanish speaker. 46:48 No actually I had a translator that I was 46:50 working with call Issawin. At the end of baptism 46:53 he looked at me and say I wanna get baptized, 46:55 so I took everything that I had, took my 46:57 cellphone off, we got into the water, 46:59 he gave his life to the Lord and he's inspiring 47:01 me to be a minister also. And actually at 47:04 this moment we're actually helping Issa, 47:06 we have filled out an application for him 47:08 to be able to attend Oakwood University, 47:11 so by the grace of God hopefully he will 47:13 be there. I wanna thank Kevin and Lisa 47:15 for the awesome work that you been doing 47:17 there with all these youths. 47:18 So, thank you guys for making NAPS 47:20 a part of the program every 47:22 year as well, thank you, amen. 47:27 If you like to find out more about NAPS 47:29 you can certainly approach them at the 47:30 end of the program, and they'll be glad 47:32 to share more with you. 47:33 Now as my friends Luke and Susan Skelton, 47:37 and they live here and they have been, 47:40 they are the hardest workers I think I've 47:42 ever met, and they've been such supporters 47:46 of this program. They actually did a lot 47:48 of the ground work and set a lot of things 47:51 up way before we even came to begin the 47:54 program here. And so Luke and Susan, 47:56 I'd like you to share with us how you 47:58 became such so involved and what area 48:01 were you involved in the program here? 48:03 Okay, well Kevin you know when we were 48:06 unloading your truck back in probably about 48:08 September, October time frame in the parking 48:10 lot, I never would have thought that we be 48:11 standing here and talking about, 48:12 we are standing here talking about tonight. 48:14 But the Lord has done amazing things here 48:17 in Arizona as you know and its just a privilege 48:20 to be involved, and its exciting to actually 48:23 share with everyone that Phoenix, Arizona 48:25 now has by the grace of God a new television 48:29 station that is broadcasting the 48:32 good news of Jesus Christ 24 hours a day, 48:34 seven days a week free to anyone that 48:37 has an antenna and can watch TV. 48:40 So its just amazing, its under the umbrella 48:43 of the Arizona Conference, its run by 48:45 volunteers, local lay people here in the 48:47 community, and its just been exciting to be 48:50 involved and a privilege to be involved with ASI, 48:53 to help win souls for Jesus here in Phoenix, 48:55 Arizona. Some of the ways that we're 48:58 able to partner with you all was that the 49:02 Bible workers and the ASI Youth for Jesus 49:05 Youth went out in the blazing heat door 49:07 to door volunteers for Good News TV 49:09 telling people about the new channel 49:12 and taking surveys, and inviting people 49:15 to take Bible studies which people 49:17 responded to, as well as yourself Kevin 49:19 and the Bible workers recorded several spots 49:21 for us offering free Bible studies as well as 49:25 advertising for the upcoming Revelation, 49:27 unlocking Revelation seminars which the 49:30 viewers also responded to us, it was very 49:31 exciting and also. You may go on, basically 49:36 we were able to broadcast the ASI Youth 49:40 for Jesus programs live on TV here in Phoenix, 49:42 Arizona, amen, amen. And people responded, 49:46 people responded, we had people come out 49:51 that had been watching it on TV, that 49:53 ended up coming to the live programs 49:55 and making decisions for Jesus, amen. 49:59 And in fact we've visited with at least a few 50:01 that are actually here at the convention 50:03 this weekend, so praise the Lord for what 50:05 he's been doing. We praise God so much for 50:09 ASI and Youth for Jesus, so we just wanna thank 50:11 every single one of you so much for your hard 50:14 work, for sharing with us all your enthusiasm 50:17 and love for Jesus, and the word of God and 50:20 we're gonna miss you. You just, we've fallen 50:24 in love with you and thank you, thank you, 50:25 thank you and praise God. 50:26 Thank you, thank you guys, amen. 50:29 Alright next stop is Aubrey and Aubrey Seiler, 50:34 how old are you Aubrey? I'm 17, 17 50:37 so you're like an experienced veteran at, 50:40 she was one of our speakers at Camelback, 50:43 and so you had all kinds of experience in this. 50:45 How many times have you done this? 50:47 I just finished my first one. So this was your 50:51 first one here at Camelback, wow, that's 50:55 interesting. You would have never have known 50:56 it by the way that you, the Lord worked 51:00 through you. Now so how long have you 51:02 been involved in evangelism? Well, 51:07 basically last Youth for Jesus and this Youth 51:10 for Jesus, so two summers. 51:12 Excellent and so this summer you were a speaker, 51:14 is there something about this program this year 51:17 that you would say really stood out that you 51:19 like to share with our audience tonight? 51:21 Well, can I hold the mic? Yes. 51:25 Basically just the opportunity of being a 51:32 speaker is one of the most amazing experiences 51:35 because you have the privilege of letting the 51:40 Lord work through you, and seeing lives 51:43 changed in a matter of weeks that you would 51:46 never see anywhere else. Just seeing somebody's 51:50 life going from being completely opposed to 51:53 what you're trying to convey to watching 51:55 them be baptized weeks later is one of the 51:58 most amazing experiences. Amen. 52:01 And so is there, now I'm looking out here 52:05 and I see somebody in the second row to 52:08 my right, I'm not going to point her out 52:10 but is there something about that you would 52:13 like to share about that. Do I say her name, 52:17 sure, okay, okay, well one of my, I say in 52:23 my contacts, she was actually Kevin's contacts, 52:25 her name is Mary, she was Catholic and 52:30 strongly not quite interested in what Kevin 52:33 was trying to get across to her in the few weeks 52:36 he was here. But Kevin was persistent and 52:40 finally got into the house and they were 52:44 actually interested in Bible studies, 52:46 so they sat to work on Bible studies 52:47 and when I came to the Camelback Church 52:50 I instantly hit it off with Mary. 52:53 She became like my second mom to me 52:55 and we just felt this really strong bond 52:59 and then I was told that she would be leaving, 53:04 her and her son Joey, would be leaving 53:08 for Wyoming the weekend before the baptism. 53:15 So I was very, very, very sad because 53:18 I knew she had marched, she decided for baptism 53:20 and I was just praying that something would 53:23 happen that she would be able to stay 53:24 and be baptized. And so I was sitting there 53:27 in the front row at baptism night 53:29 and she wasn't there and I was very sad, 53:32 and I was asking the Lord, why he hadn't 53:33 answered my prayers thinking about Mary, 53:35 and all of sudden someone comes and sits 53:37 down beside me in their baptismal robe, 53:39 and I look over to my right and its Mary 53:42 and I burst out crying, and you know I felt like 53:46 interrupt Doug Batchelor during his presentation 53:48 but it was, it was one of the most amazing 53:51 experiences, and we were just there holding 53:52 each other and crying, and she kept on saying, 53:55 oh Aubrey! You changed my life, you saved 53:57 my life, and I had to say no Mary it wasn't 54:00 me it was God that changed your life, 54:03 so that was amazing. Thank you. 54:05 Now Aubrey since you had a taste for evangelism 54:09 and you've seen how it changes people's lives 54:12 what would you say to our audience here tonight. 54:14 I'm 17 years old, I've never done something 54:19 like this before expect this summer. 54:20 I had no clue what I was doing, and yet 54:23 if I let my life stay open to God he was able 54:26 to guide and work in amazing ways. 54:28 So, if I can do it, a 17 year old anyone of 54:32 you can do it, amen, so just keep that in mind 54:35 because we can all do this. Thank you Aubrey. 54:38 Anyone of us can do it, amen, amen. 54:41 Alright now our last certainly not least is 54:45 Jordan Kizzire and we love Jordan. 54:48 Jordan was coming to the meetings at 54:51 Camelback Church, and Jordan, how did you 54:54 find out about the meetings? I got a flyer 54:57 in the mail, got a flyer in the mail and did 54:59 you come immediately out. No, I was actually 55:03 gonna throw it away the day I got it, 55:05 but the Holy Spirit said hang on to that. 55:07 A few weeks later I was in my room and 55:09 he told me to get it out and go because he has 55:11 something for me there and I got up and went. 55:14 Now he has an amazing story and afterwards 55:18 I want you to approach him and ask him 55:19 about it, but we gonna tell a little bit 55:20 about that. You had a dream sometime ago 55:23 tell us about that quickly. A little over a year 55:26 ago on June 20th the Lord gave me a dream 55:30 and basically what it was is I was out at 55:34 my real estate office and I stepped outside 55:36 of the office and I happened to notice 55:37 that on the same light as the office was 55:40 this massive barn and then leading to the barn 55:44 were these four of these most beautiful 55:46 sunflowers that I've ever seen, and he told me 55:48 to write it down, so I wrote it down and exactly 55:51 13 months later he revealed to me what 55:54 that dream was, through the scriptures 55:57 the barn, he spoke to me through 55:58 Proverbs 3:9-10, Honor the Lord from your wealth 56:02 and from the first of all your produce; 56:04 so your barns will be filled with plenty 56:06 and your vats will overflow with new wine. 56:09 I then asked him, what was up with the 56:11 sunflowers because I can't find sunflowers 56:14 in the scripture, but lovingly He showed me 56:17 that what it was it had to do with a particular 56:21 Commandment of his. And 13 months later 56:25 through Youth for Jesus something was dropped 56:27 off at my house on a Sunday afternoon and. 56:35 So I would like to show you what was dropped 56:36 off at his house. If we could get a picture 56:39 of this or get a close up of that, the youth had 56:43 dropped this off of all pictures on a magazine 56:47 at Jordan's front door. Yeah, now real quick 56:50 that is obviously a sunflower and this 56:52 magazine is called a Biblical Lord's Day and 56:54 his purpose and it's particularly dealing 56:56 with the Sabbath and when it truly is, 56:58 which is Saturday. Now the sunflowers 57:01 represented, that my real estate office and 57:05 the barn were on the same lob but they were 57:07 not connected because work and Sabbath are 57:10 not connected. The only way to get to that barn 57:13 was to follow the four sunflowers that were in 57:16 perfect alignment to that barn. 57:19 Now the journal entry that I wrote this on here 57:21 has preprinted scriptures at the bottom of the 57:23 page and you can decide for yourself, 57:26 this was the verse at the 57:28 bottom of this journal entry. 57:31 Psalm 128:1, 2: Blessed, happy, 57:34 fortunate is everyone who fears, reveres, 57:37 and worships the Lord, who walks in His ways 57:40 and lives according to His commandments. 57:44 For you shall eat the fruit of the labor of your 57:46 hands; happy blessed, fortunate, shall you be, 57:49 and it shall be well with you. 57:52 Now the thing that really got me was 57:53 I asked the Holy Spirit I said, why were there 57:56 four sunflowers and He asked me, what is the 58:02 fourth Commandment and it is remember the 58:06 Sabbath and keep it holy! 58:09 Amen, amen. Thank you Jordan. |
