00:32 Sometimes I think we get lazy with our praying.
00:35 Perhaps we assume that 00:36 once we've prayed, we've done our part 00:38 and the rest is up to God 00:40 and that's partially true, 00:41 but there are a couple of other things 00:43 that we're instructed to do. 00:45 Watch and pray. 00:47 That phrase occurs often in the Bible. 00:49 Watching means keeping on the alert. 00:51 God expects us to use the senses He gave us 00:54 led by the Holy Spirit, 00:56 so that we can detect 00:57 when our enemy is beginning to work. 01:00 Watch and pray. 01:01 In Nehemiah 4:9. 01:03 It says, 01:04 "Nevertheless, we made our prayer unto God 01:07 and set a watch." 01:09 Yes, they prayed and trusted God. 01:11 Then they positioned guards to be on the lookout 01:14 for the enemy. 01:15 Watch and pray. 01:17 Another thing we're instructed to do is to keep on praying, 01:21 persevere, stick to it, don't quit. 01:24 Perseverance in prayer 01:25 doesn't mean we're praying to manipulate 01:28 or twist God's arm, 01:30 but that we're so deeply concerned and burdened 01:33 that we can't rest until God answer us. 01:36 Have you ever considered that 01:38 you may have stopped praying 01:40 just before God was about to give the victory? 01:43 Well, in Acts 12, we read that 01:44 the early church prayed without ceasing 01:46 when Peter was in prison. 01:48 And at the last moment, God gave them their answer. 01:52 Keep on praying until the Spirit stops you 01:54 or the Father answers you. 02:02 Savior, 02:06 Savior 02:10 Hear our humble cry 02:17 While on others 02:19 Thou art calling 02:24 Do not pass me by 02:29 We'll sing that again. 02:30 Savior, 02:34 Savior 02:38 Hear my humble cry 02:45 While on others 02:48 Thou art calling 02:53 Do not pass me by 03:01 It's my privilege to welcome a dear friend of mine 03:06 to Pause to Pray, Donald Owen. 03:07 Yes, sir. 03:09 You are in the pastoral staff here at 3ABN. 03:12 So I'm sure that a lot of people 03:13 that are watching 03:15 if they've called in to receive prayer, 03:19 you've probably been the voice that they've heard. 03:21 Yes. 03:23 It's been a pleasure to be able to, 03:24 you know in prayer, this is a powerful thing. 03:26 This lady, Ellen White, she wrote that, 03:27 "Prayer doesn't bring God down to us, 03:29 but it brings us up to Him." 03:30 Amen. Right. That's powerful. 03:32 Yes, that is powerful. 03:33 We are talking that the Creator of the universe 03:35 wants to hear from us. 03:36 So yeah, we've been so privileged 03:38 to be able to pray with folks around the world 03:40 and hear their cry. 03:41 We talked about hear my humble cry. 03:43 We hear that on a day-to-day basis. 03:45 So, yeah. Wow. 03:46 Sure a lot of people have heard this, my voice, 03:48 but many others like me, JD and Joe, 03:50 and, of course, Mitch and Claude 03:53 and also Louis so... 03:55 Yeah, we have a wonderful pastoral staff 03:57 and what a great ministry that 3ABN provides. 04:00 Oh, people love it. It's an outlet for them. 04:03 Yeah, it is. It's a great outlet. 04:04 Be sure and stay tuned to the end of the program, 04:08 you'll be able to find out 04:09 how you can submit your requests 04:11 to pastoral staff. 04:13 So I just want to start 04:14 with a word of thanksgiving to God. 04:17 All right. And then we'll pause to pray. 04:19 Sure. 04:21 Father God, I wanna thank You for Your Word. 04:24 The Word of God, which is my delight. 04:26 Right. Amen. 04:27 I thank You for the gift of life, 04:29 the power of choice. 04:31 I choose to worship You, oh, Lord. 04:35 I thank You that You have made me 04:36 like a tree planted by rivers of water. 04:40 I'm evergreen and always fruitful, Lord. 04:44 I thank You that You prosper the works of my hands 04:47 because of the finished work of Jesus 04:49 at the cross of Calvary. 04:51 And I thank You that You have made me righteous 04:54 apart from my performance, Lord, 04:57 I thank You that You are God Almighty, 05:00 and yet You care about me. 05:03 And, Lord, I worship You. 05:05 And I give you the highest praise. 05:08 Receive my thanks in Jesus' name. 05:10 Amen. 05:13 Our Heavenly Father, we're so thankful, Lord, 05:15 for the opportunity that 05:17 Jesus, You made a way that we can pray. 05:20 You said for us to come boldly unto Your throne of grace, 05:24 and we can have these needs met in time of need. 05:27 And we're here, Lord, 05:29 talking to the Creator of the universe. 05:31 Who are we, but really dust. 05:34 But You have called us, Lord, 05:35 through the precious blood of Jesus 05:37 that we can press into Your presence. 05:39 We just ask that You will guide and direct this prayer today, 05:43 this prayer time, where we will pause to pray, 05:46 take time to speak to the very one, Lord, 05:49 who created us, who redeemed us, 05:53 who owns us by His precious blood. 05:54 And souls may be listening right now 05:57 that maybe they don't think prayer is really 05:59 something important to them. 06:01 But, Lord, it's again, it's like talking to a friend. 06:05 So we can put confidence in that, 06:07 we can trust You, Lord. 06:09 We thank You. 06:10 We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen. 06:12 Thank you, Lord. Thank you. 06:17 God, I believe that You are our deliverer 06:20 and I pray, Lord, that You will deliver those 06:23 who are bound by various fears. 06:28 Lord, You've not given us the spirit of fear, 06:30 but of a sound mind. 06:32 So I speak soundness of mind 06:34 to those who are burdened with fear. 06:36 Grant us the wisdom, Lord, to walk in Your Holy Word, 06:40 that our minds would always be on You, 06:44 so that You would grant us perfect peace in Jesus' name. 06:49 Amen. Amen. 06:51 There's a wonderful scripture that goes along with that. 06:54 1 John 4:18 says that 06:55 "Perfect love casts out fear, the fear of torment." 06:59 And the enemy wants to torment us. 07:01 It says, Satan's strengthening 07:04 is to attack on us individual 07:08 by using people around them, 07:10 to influence them into anger. 07:12 So praying that God will intervene 07:14 and send angels to keep them strengthened. 07:17 There's a wonderful scripture. 07:19 Philippians 4:13 says, 07:20 "I can do all things through Christ 07:22 who strengthens me." 07:24 He can give us that power. 07:25 Matthew 28:18 says 07:26 "All power is given to Him in heaven and earth." 07:28 And if we truly trust in Christ, 07:30 He will give us that strength to overcome our adversary. 07:33 Amen. 07:34 I love the scripture that says thou will keep me in 07:37 or keep him in perfect peace as I claim it for myself. 07:39 Isaiah 26:3. Yeah. 07:41 "Whose mind is stayed upon Him because he trusts in Him." 07:45 Right, amen. There's a key, trust, important. 07:47 Right. Yes, Lord. 07:49 God, I pray protection to surround this dear believer 07:52 that you love and others like them. 07:54 Ooh, I pray the armor of God over their life 07:57 according to Ephesians 6:10-18. 08:00 God, that we all would be strong in You. 08:03 And in the power of Your might 08:05 that we would put on the whole armor of God, 08:07 that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 08:10 He goes about like a roaring lion 08:12 seeking whom he may devour. 08:14 1 Peter 5:10 tells us that 08:17 Christ wants to strengthen us, settle us and establish us. 08:20 Praise the Lord. 08:22 And we have that stability only in His precious blood. 08:24 So, Father, calls us to remember that, 08:26 we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, 08:28 but against principalities, against powers, 08:30 against the rulers of the darkness of this age, 08:33 against spiritual hosts of wickedness 08:35 in the heavenly places. 08:36 Therefore we must take up Your whole armor, 08:40 God, that which You have supplied, 08:42 that we may be able to withstand in the evil day 08:45 and having done all to stand firm. 08:48 You've ordered us to hide Your words of truths 08:51 in our heart and mind. 08:52 Psalm 118 or 119:11 says, 08:56 "Thy word have I hid in my heart 08:57 that I might not sin against Thee." 08:59 God, fill us with the power of Your Spirit 09:01 and help us to stand strong. 09:03 Always remembering that greater is He who is in us 09:06 than he who is in the world. 09:09 Praise the Lord. In Jesus' name. 09:11 Amen. Thank you Lord. 09:14 And, Father, I know that there are many of our viewers 09:17 who have been going through surgery 09:19 or they're recuperating from surgery. 09:23 Oh, healing God, 09:25 I ask that there will be minimal pain 09:29 and quick healing and no complications. 09:33 Amen. 09:35 Isaiah 53:5 declares that 09:38 by the stripes of Christ, we are healed. 09:43 And, Lord, I'll even lift up the family members 09:45 of those who are going through the surgeries 09:51 that You will give them the strength to stand by 09:57 and be patient through the healing process even. 10:01 They will practice the fruit of the Spirit 10:03 in those trying times, in Jesus' name. 10:07 Amen. 10:09 Lord there may be those 10:10 who are mourning the loss of loved ones, 10:13 learning to live without them, 10:14 that void in their life. 10:17 Figuring out how to go about the normal day. 10:20 We just want to lift them up to you, Lord. 10:23 You know, it's hard 10:24 when something that You were so drawn to 10:26 and used to is no longer there. 10:28 You've grown to be attached to that 10:30 and now it's gone, 10:32 but there's a wonderful promise 10:33 I'm thinking in 1 Thessalonians 4 10:35 that we will be reunited again. 10:37 It promises that we're gonna rise together 10:39 to meet the Lord in the air. 10:40 Praise the Lord. 10:42 What a promise. 10:43 Thank you, God. 10:45 Be near the broken-hearted, 10:46 comfort them with your incomprehensible peace, 10:49 reminding them 10:51 that You will never leave nor desert us. 10:52 Thank you, Lord. Amen. 10:54 Thank you, Lord. 10:56 Precious, precious God, 11:00 Lord, You know that we as mankind, 11:03 we've had a tendency to do things our own way 11:06 in order to accommodate our schedules 11:08 and our preferences, our selfish lives. 11:15 But Holy Spirit, I pray that you would open our hearts 11:18 to understand God's plan of salvation, 11:22 to be aware and receptive to the fact that 11:24 there is no other way to know God 11:29 than through Your Son, 11:31 our risen Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. 11:36 Amen. 11:38 Heavenly Father, I just think of those right now 11:42 are sitting behind bars 11:43 and don't know where to turn to. 11:47 The pain that they've suffered, 11:48 the darkness that's been cast on them, 11:50 the shadows that have been swallowing them up. 11:53 That they realize they can cry out to You 11:55 in the darkest of night, and You will answer. 11:58 I think of those who are struggling with addictions 12:00 and all the craziness of this world and chaos. 12:05 I just ask, Lord, You give them a special touch 12:07 to let them know how much You really love them 12:09 as a son or daughter of God 12:11 and that they can be delivered by the powerful name of Jesus. 12:15 Thank you Lord. Amen. Thank you. 12:17 That's powerful, Donald. 12:18 Thank you for your heart. 12:20 Amen. 12:21 Amen. I love you, brother. 12:22 Amen. Likewise. 12:24 The scripture says 12:25 "If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, 12:28 you will ask what you desire 12:30 and it shall be done for you." 12:31 That's in John 15:7. 12:33 And Donald has been such a wonderful inspiration 12:36 as you've prayed. 12:37 You've prayed the scripture. 12:39 Those words are in you. 12:40 His Holy Word is in you. 12:42 Amen. God is good. 12:43 Amen. All the time. 12:45 Savior, 12:49 Savior 12:52 Hear my humble cry 12:59 While on others Thou art calling 13:07 Do not pass me by 13:14 Do not pass me by 13:22 I wanna thank you for taking time 13:24 to Pause and Pray. 13:26 Amen. 13:27 Remember, we have no greater privilege 13:29 in this world 13:30 than to spend time with our Father in prayer. 13:32 Amen. 13:42 Please send us your prayer request 13:44 or become a part of our Prayer Warrior Team. 13:46 For more information, please visit 3abn.tv/prayer 13:51 or call for prayer at 618-627-4651, extension 1. 13:56 And thank you for being a part of the worldwide 3ABN family. |
