00:31 Today's prayer topic is one that we all need,
00:34 God's discernment. 00:36 You know, in order to discern as God would, 00:38 I have to learn to think like God thinks 00:41 and to see things through His eyes. 00:43 I need discernment because 00:45 I'm constantly in danger of believing something 00:48 that sounds really good, 00:50 but doesn't quite match up with what the Bible says. 00:53 I also need discernment when I deal with other people. 00:56 I need to learn how to see past someone's behavior 01:00 and see the real reason for their reaction. 01:03 I know that without that, I can't help them 01:06 because I'm always reacting back 01:08 which just makes things worse. 01:11 Another reason that I need discernment 01:13 is because I'm really good at rationalizing 01:16 and justifying my own bad behavior. 01:18 And that means I'm working against the Holy Spirit 01:22 in being self-righteous, but I'm not alone. 01:25 David recognized 01:27 he had a problem with justification 01:28 in his own head. 01:30 And he prayed in Psalm 139:23, 01:33 "Search me, O God, and know my heart." 01:37 So how do we gain discernment? 01:39 Good judgment, proper perception. 01:42 These can be ours by the grace of God 01:45 through studying His Word, 01:46 and by continuously searching our hearts 01:49 with the spirit's help. 01:59 Be thou my vision 02:02 O Lord of my heart 02:07 Naught be all else to me 02:10 Save that thou art 02:15 Thou my best thought, By day or by night 02:23 Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light 02:38 Be thou my wisdom 02:42 And thou my true word 02:45 I ever with thee And thou with me, Lord 02:52 Thou my great Father 02:55 And I thy true son 03:00 Thou in me dwelling And I with thee one 03:12 Lord, I joined with David and saying, I am Your servant. 03:18 Give me understanding and discernment. 03:21 I need You to help me understand 03:22 what I read in Your Word. 03:25 And as I interact with my brothers and sisters, 03:28 who suffer like I do 03:30 from the spiritual sickness in this world. 03:34 Lord, grant that I may seek rather to comfort 03:36 than to be comforted, 03:38 to understand than to be understood. 03:42 Help me see their lives through Your eyes, I pray. 03:46 Thank You for Your promise in James 1:5, 03:49 "That if any of us lacks wisdom and asks, 03:52 You will give it to us liberally 03:54 and without reproach." 03:57 I pray all these things in the name of Jesus'. 04:00 Amen. 04:02 Father, we come before You 04:04 during this time of trouble seeking, 04:06 guidance, and instruction from You. 04:09 We ask that our ears will be open 04:11 to the Holy Spirit, 04:13 for guidance and directions, 04:15 not only for ourselves 04:16 to know what we should be doing, 04:18 but, Father, that we can lift You up 04:20 that others may see You. 04:22 Give us discernment of what we should say to others 04:26 that would be helpful to them 04:28 that would give them a peace and a direction. 04:32 Father, we thank You for being with us 04:34 during this time for guiding and directing us. 04:38 And we just thank You, Father, and we just praise Your name. 04:42 Amen. 04:45 Dear, Lord, thank You for all that You do for me 04:48 and all the blessings that You bestow upon me. 04:51 Lord, I ask for Your guidance, 04:53 Your continued guidance 04:55 to show me the path 04:56 that You have laid out before me. 04:58 Ask Lord that you nudge me, 05:00 that You guide me by the hand to continue walking down 05:04 where You would have me go. 05:05 Lord, lead me to the green pastures 05:07 that You have set up for me. 05:09 Help me to do everything 05:10 that You would have me to do, Lord, 05:12 and always Lord, thank You for everything. 05:15 Amen. 05:22 Riches I heed not 05:26 Nor man's empty praise 05:31 Thou mine inheritance 05:34 Now and always 05:38 Thou and thou only 05:42 First in my heart 05:46 High King of heaven 05:50 my treasure thou art 05:59 Dear, Father in heaven, we thank You for this very day. 06:04 Father, You are always the same from day to day. 06:08 Since the beginning of time 06:09 You wanted to have a relationship with us. 06:12 You have desire to instruct us in the ways we ought to go. 06:17 You have not given up on mankind. 06:20 You were always there. 06:22 Today we pray for discernment. 06:24 We pray that the Holy Spirit will give us peace 06:27 to know it's truly You, God. 06:30 Guide us, Lord, we are Yours. 06:33 Wrap Your protective arms around us 06:35 amidst the Coronavirus, 06:37 and give us guidance 06:38 for every protection in these times. 06:41 Father, we want to be obedient to Your calling in our lives. 06:47 Please, Lord, be our guide and our instructor. 06:50 Amen. 06:54 Dear Heavenly Father, 06:56 thank You for being the awesome God 06:57 that You are. 06:59 Thank You for Your guidance 07:00 for the promptings of the Holy Spirit, 07:02 for helping us with the big decisions 07:04 and the small ones. 07:05 Today, I ask You to continue to guide us 07:08 and help us trust in Your guidance, 07:10 especially when things don't make sense. 07:12 And most importantly, guide us closer to You. 07:15 In Jesus' name, amen. 07:21 Merciful and loving Lord, show us Your path of life. 07:25 Teach us to know good from evil, 07:28 give us uncommon wisdom from above, 07:31 and cause us to increase in all knowledge 07:35 in spiritual understanding. 07:38 Lord, counsel us with Your eye upon us, 07:41 and lead us by Your good spirit into all truth. 07:45 Establish our steps, Lord, in the way of righteousness, 07:49 in Jesus' name, amen. 07:56 1 John 4:1 says, reminds us, 08:02 "Do not believe every spirit, 08:04 but to test the spirits 08:05 to see whether they are from you, 08:08 O God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world." 08:14 And in Philippians 1:9-10, 08:19 it says, that Paul prayed, 08:21 "That our love may abound more and more 08:23 with knowledge and all discernment, 08:26 so that we may approve what is excellent. 08:29 And so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ." 08:34 And then in 1 Kings 3:9, Solomon prayed. 08:39 "Give your servant an understanding mind 08:41 to govern Your people 08:43 that I may discern between good and evil. 08:46 For who is able to govern this, Your great people?" 08:51 Father, that reminds me of our leaders 08:54 who are in great need of Your direction, 08:58 who are in great need of Your discernment. 09:03 They need Your wisdom, Lord. 09:06 Around this world, 09:08 we need leaders that believe You, 09:14 that believe Your Word. 09:20 Lord, we don't have rights. 09:24 You are right. 09:28 We are not entitled. 09:31 You are our Savior, You are our Lord. 09:34 So we want to surrender our lives to You. 09:39 So I pray, O, God, 09:40 that You would please give our leaders wisdom 09:44 and discernment. 09:49 We pray for those who have called in for prayer, 09:55 for salvation. 09:56 This one says, 09:58 "Please pray that God will give my family and me victory 10:01 over our many weaknesses." 10:06 God, give us the courage to speak the truth, 10:09 wisdom to know what to say, when to say it, how to say it, 10:13 and when to be silent. 10:16 Lord, we are weak and defective sinners, 10:22 but we serve a powerful and merciful God. 10:25 So may God help us to confess all of our sins, 10:29 to repent of our sins and to right our wrongs. 10:38 Lord, there are those who are watching 10:41 who need healing in their marriages 10:43 and their families. 10:45 This one says, 10:46 "I have met a man I want to marry, 10:48 but my parents, they don't agree. 10:52 I believe He is good for me and 10:54 I pray that God will touch my parent's heart." 10:58 Lord, I pray that 11:00 you will give this one discernment 11:01 who is facing this decision, 11:04 Lord, what a life decision. 11:08 And we need Your wisdom, God, 11:09 we need Your discernment in every decision that we make. 11:13 Whether it's starting businesses, 11:15 whether it's starting families. 11:19 Lord, God, 11:21 we don't want to jump into any decision 11:23 without seeking Your face, O Lord. 11:27 We need You, God. 11:31 In fact, this one that says they need to pray for me 11:36 to find a business that can boost my finances. 11:39 I don't want to do anything that is not God's will. 11:46 And, Father, there are so many that called needing healing. 11:52 This list that says, 11:54 "Please pray for our precious sister 11:56 and her husband. 11:57 They are combating a virus." 12:01 This one says, 12:02 "Pray for our precious sister. 12:03 She's fighting a severe battle with an illness." 12:07 Another for a friend 12:09 who is fighting a major health issue 12:10 due to a blood transfusion. 12:14 One that says, 12:15 "Please pray earnestly for a friend on a ventilator 12:17 in the hospital 12:19 fighting a virus." 12:21 God, we need Your healing touch. 12:24 We need You to intervene. 12:29 Lord, You are our only hope and we trust You to heal. 12:38 James 1:5 says, 12:40 "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, 12:44 who gives generously to all without reproach, 12:48 and it will be given him." 12:55 High King of heaven 12:58 When victory is won 13:02 May I reach heaven's joy 13:05 O bright heaven's sun 13:08 Heart of my own heart 13:12 Whatever befall 13:16 Still be my vision 13:20 O ruler of all 13:27 Keep seeking God for His wisdom and His discernment. 13:33 Amen. 13:38
