00:31 The Bible makes it clear in Romans 13:1,
00:34 "Let every person be subject to the governing authorities, 00:37 for there is no authority except from God, 00:39 and those that exist have been instituted by God." 00:42 Contrast this with Acts 5:29, 00:45 where Peter and the disciples tell us, 00:47 we ought to obey God rather than men. 00:50 Sometimes those that govern us 00:52 may call us to do something that is contrary 00:54 to the expressed command of God. 00:56 God is still in charge, 00:58 and He sets up these governing bodies 01:00 to lead His people. 01:02 So you may ask, 01:03 "Is this our only duty, 01:05 follow our rulers until they conflict with God?" 01:08 No, God has one more task for us. 01:11 1 Timothy 2:1-4, 01:14 "First of all, then I urge that entreaties 01:17 and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, 01:20 be made on behalf of all men, 01:22 for kings and all who are in authority, 01:24 so that we may lead a tranquil 01:26 and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 01:29 This is good and acceptable in the sight 01:31 of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved, 01:34 and to come to the knowledge of the truth." 01:38 God calls us to remember our authority 01:41 figures in prayer, no matter their flaws, 01:44 no matter our opinions of them. 01:47 We are to lift them up before God. 01:49 Join me as we petition our sovereign God on their behalf. 01:59 Lord, we know that You are ultimately in command 02:02 of all things. 02:04 And that authority comes from You alone. 02:07 We ask that You bless those You have appointed 02:10 over us with wisdom and understanding, 02:13 guide them into the path You've set before them. 02:16 Give them grace to stand against those who would tear 02:20 them down, to rise above with the compassion that only 02:24 You can impart. 02:26 Lead them in the paths of righteousness, 02:28 I ask, in Your precious name. 02:30 Amen. 02:34 Our Father in heaven, we thank You, 02:37 Lord, for Your goodness and Your mercy. 02:39 Thank you. Thank you. 02:41 Thank you, Lord, that as we approach 02:45 Your throne of grace, You do hear our prayer. 02:49 And in a special way we'd like to pray for our government. 02:53 Give them wisdom, guidance, Lord, 02:56 give them health and strength. 02:58 And I pray, Lord, that Your name 03:02 will be glorified in all things. 03:04 In Jesus' name, amen. 03:09 Our Father in heaven, 03:11 You have invited us to become citizens 03:14 of Your government. 03:16 The laws of Your government are moral 03:18 and righteous which bring joy and blessings. 03:23 Your Son will be our King of kings and Lord of lords, 03:27 by our own choice, we will be faithful 03:30 and loyal to Him, honoring Him with the respect 03:33 and reverence He deserves. 03:36 You have promised a new heaven 03:37 and a new earth where the righteous 03:40 who love Your law will dwell. 03:43 Help us, Father, to love and live Your law 03:46 so we can join with the nations of the new earth 03:50 when they sing with eternal joy as Your Son governs 03:54 with eternal love. 03:57 In Jesus' name we ask and thank You, amen. 04:05 Christ be my leader 04:09 By night as by day 04:13 Safe through the darkness 04:16 For he is the way 04:21 Gladly I follow, 04:24 My future his care 04:29 Darkness is daylight 04:33 When Jesus is there 04:43 Christ be my teacher in age 04:48 As in youth 04:50 Drifting or doubting, 04:53 For he is the truth 04:58 Grant me to trust him, 05:02 Through shifting as sand 05:06 Doubting cannot 05:10 Daunt me, in Jesus 05:14 I stand 05:33 Our Father which art in heaven again we come before Thee. 05:36 We are grateful and thankful that we have a Heavenly 05:38 Father that we can come to in our time of need. 05:41 Lord, we need You and our country needs You, 05:43 that government needs you, 05:45 leaders of our country needs you. 05:48 We ask for this anointing of Thy Holy Spirit upon each 05:50 and every one of these souls who have jobs that sometimes 05:55 just our mind just can't be wrapped around all 05:57 the responsibility that they have, but Lord, 05:59 may they sense their need of a Savior, 06:01 may they sense that something outside of themselves, 06:04 that they would be drawn to, talk to you in prayer about 06:07 the issues that are going on today in this world. 06:10 And again, we just lift each and every one up to You, 06:12 anointing with Thy Holy Spirit and love for each other. 06:15 Lord, we realize You're coming soon. 06:17 We want to be ready for that wonderful, great day. 06:19 Bless this country, we pray mightily with Thy Holy Spirit. 06:23 We can only give You praise and honor and glory 06:24 for what You're going to do. 06:26 In Jesus' name, amen. 06:30 Dear Heavenly Father, 06:32 I come to You asking for good decision making wisdom 06:36 for all levels of government, 06:38 may the leaders of our cities, our states and our country 06:42 turn to You seeking guidance. 06:45 All humanity is prone to become proud, 06:48 self-centered, and self-sufficient. 06:51 Humble us personally, and in our homes. 06:55 Humble our leaders to lean on You 06:57 and to seek to do Your will. 07:00 In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. 07:05 Father God, I come to You in Jesus' name. 07:08 I thank you for, Father, that You perfect all 07:11 those things that concern us. 07:13 And during these times, Father, I would ask that 07:15 You would move upon our governments, 07:18 both at the state level and the federal level. 07:21 Father, give all the governors wisdom 07:24 and our president and the house members 07:27 and the Senate members, 07:28 all the people who are involved in the government here, 07:32 Father, I would ask that You would give them wisdom, 07:35 give them godly ideas, keep them righteous, Father, 07:39 show them when to move and when to hold. 07:42 Lead them Father, let Your love be the force 07:45 that directs their decisions. 07:47 Send Your Holy Spirit to minister to them, 07:50 protect them and keep them safe. 07:52 I ask in Jesus' name, amen. 08:03 Christ be my Savior 08:08 In calm as in strife 08:12 Death cannot hold me, 08:16 For he is the life 08:20 Nor darkness nor doubting 08:24 Nor sin and its stain 08:29 Can touch my salvation 08:33 with Jesus 08:36 I reign 08:45 Just a reminder, 08:47 as we read Romans 13 again, 08:50 verses 1-7, says, 08:53 "Every person has to be in subjection 08:55 to the governing authorities 08:57 for there is no authority except from God. 09:01 Those which exist or established by God, 09:04 therefore, whoever resists authority 09:07 has opposed the ordinance of God. 09:11 And they who have opposed 09:12 will receive condemnation upon themselves. 09:16 For rulers are not a cause of fear 09:18 for good behavior 09:20 but for evil. 09:22 Do you want to have no fear of authority? 09:26 Then do what is good, 09:28 and you will have praise from the same, 09:31 for it is a minister of God to you for good. 09:36 But if you do what is evil be afraid, 09:39 for it does not bear the sword for nothing, 09:42 for it is a minister of God and avenger 09:45 who brings wrath on the one who practices evil. 09:50 Therefore, it is necessary to be in subjection 09:52 not only because of wrath, 09:54 but also for conscience sake. 09:57 For because of this, you also pay taxes, 10:01 for rulers are servants of God, 10:03 devoting themselves to this very thing, 10:06 rendered to all what is due them, 10:09 tax to whom tax is due." 10:14 God, I pray that 10:16 You would give us a willing heart. 10:19 Sometimes we see things going on in our government 10:22 and around the world. 10:25 We know this is the same that we don't agree with 10:29 and we want to rise up against. 10:35 God, grant us wisdom 10:41 as children of the Most High, Almighty King, 10:46 give us wisdom to know what to stand for 10:49 and what to subject to. 10:57 God, we need You. 11:02 Lord, I lift up prayers 11:04 on behalf of government leaders around the world, 11:07 asking that You would draw them 11:08 into a strong relationship with You. 11:14 Thank You for those who have pledged their lives 11:16 in service to our country. 11:20 Lord, I ask that You would give them 11:23 a true servant's spirit. 11:26 People who... 11:30 Are holy, 11:32 who have the heart of God, 11:36 anoint them with the Holy Spirit's power 11:38 that they might feel Your strength 11:40 in every situation. 11:44 And, Father, may integrity and honesty 11:46 guide every decision 11:48 as they first look to you for help, God. 11:53 Turn their hearts from distractions 11:55 and temptations 11:58 that could bring them harm. 12:02 Lord, I ask that 12:03 You would protect their families, 12:08 even protect those who are protecting them. 12:17 Father, I pray for salvation for every leader. 12:23 God, capture their hearts, 12:27 turn their hearts toward You, 12:31 toward the good of our country, 12:34 helping us to live peaceable lives, 12:39 help them to promote righteousness. 12:50 May Your Word become the truth. 12:54 May Your Word become the guide for all decisions. 12:57 And may we all look to You, 12:58 oh, God, for the last word. 13:03 Lord, make us all strong leaders, 13:05 Lord, who will stay the course 13:07 and work tirelessly 13:10 to foster peace, fairness, 13:12 and justice for all. 13:26 It's an very important role 13:27 that you and I have 13:29 to pray for our leaders, 13:34 to support them 13:37 and to honor them with our prayers. 13:41 Thank you for spending this time in praying. 13:48 Please send us your prayer request 13:50 or become a part of our Prayer Warrior Team. 13:53 For more information, please visit 3abn.tv/prayer 13:57 or call for prayer at 618-627-4651 extension 1. 14:02 And thank you for being a part of the worldwide 3ABN family. |
